    If the protagonist wasn't Elie,
    It sure would be one of the best games of the year.
    It´s too sad to see the creators break the beautiful bond between part 1 and 2. and that there is not a story that moved us or the immovable relationship between Joel and Elie

    The Last of Us Part 2 is by far the worst game of 2020. Bad writing, nonsensical plat, garbage characters... Sony should've cancelled the game.

    I was really hyped for this sequel, but was horribly let down. The game looks and feels more or less like the previous one, so It's almost like we're back in 2013/2014 game mechanic- and graphic-wise. This is unfortunate, but a good story can sometimes make up for this shortcoming. That's unfortunately not the case for this one. The writing is really bad and feels really forced. I won'tI was really hyped for this sequel, but was horribly let down.     What a waste of a potential to explore the story between joel and ellie naughty dog has ruined what could have been a great game. The first one was amazing but this just has ruined the experience of the first game for me

The ten hour side quest was boring and had crappy replacible characters if it would have stop a little bit earlier at the farm I would not be as mad but it push it self to villainnises the main character and force dumb decisions the last chapter was rush and pointless and yet you still don’t get revenge. In they end Ellie left without her family she had revenge and even her ability to use a getair the game play was good but it was drawn out way to long to make a 25 hour story it’s crush’s fans of the last game by giving a beloved character a terrible death. It makes you feel bad for even playing a gives the story a terrible ending.… Expand

    I absolutely loved this game. Without spoiling anything there are definitely some huge risks here regarding the story but I fall into the camp that absolutely loved it. I loved how mistakes made in the first game actually mattered here. If you’re a fan of surface level story telling this game isn’t for you. It’s brutal, disturbing and gut wrenching.

    I’ll start off by saying that I have never done a game review. If I was unhappy about a game I just complained to friends about it and sold it for something else. In this case I’ve come here to give a real review because I believe in this case the fans need to be heard loud and clear and in mass. I absolutely loved the first installment of this series, it was quite literally the best game I have ever played. I’ve spent hundreds of hours replaying the original and the remaster and It’s never made me feel like its a chore. The character development and character relationships were incredible, the story was absolutely spectacular and when I found out there was going to be a Part II I was over the moon. I heard the leaks and the here say about how this wasn’t going to compare to the first and to expect something much different. I kept an open mind and began playing after work on launch day. After just about 2 hours I didn’t even want to go any farther. I just wanted to turn my PS4 off and return the game. I took a day to think if I wanted to see if it got any better, and as you could have guessed it didn’t. In all my years of gaming I haven’t seen something with so much potential just fall so flat. This game is dead on arrival and there are so many plot holes I was in disbelief that the studio released it. I couldn’t care less if the main characters were gay, straight, black, brown or purple. I loved Ellie’s character in the first game, and the people saying people only hate the game because of the gay protagonist is just untrue. Where is the personalities and traits of the characters that were already developed because they were nowhere to be seen? This game has absolutely nothing of value in it, it’s utterly garbage. I’ve waisted 60 dollars on something that I’ll never get back not to mention the time finishing the game for the sake of finishing it just so I would have ground to stand on to write this review. Naughty Dog...... We were expecting so much from you and you’ve let your fans down as much as you possibly could. Between the terrible AI, horrible story, terrible attempts to make characters you’re suppose to end up liking relatable, and the pathetic attempt at shock value to justify the terrible writing is despicable. In my mind this game doesn’t exist and the first installment is just a fantastic one off that will leave me wondering what ever became of the Joel and Ellie we all came to know and love and probably actually connected with. Save yourselves the money and don’t line the studios pockets because I’m 99% sure you will regret it. If you want watch your favorite YouTuber or streamer play it. In numbers out voices can be heard, hit them were it hurts...... in the pocket book.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game was a huge let down. It took over an hour to try and do what the first game did in 15 minutes and failed at it miserably. It’s majority a walking simulator with pretty textures put on bad models. Over half the game is you playing as the main antagonist of the game and you don’t even get the satisfaction of kill that person for what they’ve done to you. You story is full of plot holes and dumb twists that don’t make any sense when you stop to think about it SPOILERS AHEAD. Why did Abby leave Ellie and Tommy alive? Sure, she was there to kill Joel but both Tommy and Ellie had seen them and obviously due to Ellie’s reaction and Tommy be his brother Abby would have had to have known they’d come after her. Why did Ellie only realize revenge is bad after she’d already killed literally everyone else who was involved? Why would Joel follow Abby back to her group when he’d always been suspicious of everyone he’d ever met up until that point? And why of all the people they could have chosen was it the doctor’s daughter who came after Joel. Joel has spent 20 years doing awful things before he met Ellie. Of all the people he must have hurt and killed in that time it was the random doctor who was hell bent on killing Ellie for the cure that comes back to haunt Joel. I remember playing that part of the first game, I didn’t feel bad for killing the doctor, I killed him and his entire team because they were going to kill Ellie who I as they player cared about. This game has single handedly ruined my trust in Naughty Dog. I don’t trust that what they tell me about their games is true anymore and I don’t trust that they’ll be capable of writing a competent story from this point forward. This game gets a 1 solely because the game was stable and playable. It was not fun, it was not entertaining, and worst of all it was a disgrace to first half of the story we got 7 years ago. Naughty Dog needs the let the Last of Us die because I know, as a fan of their game up to now, I won’t be playing the next one.… Expand

    One of the best games I’ve ever played graphically. So beautiful every step of the way (3). The fighting/ combat aspect was also very fun and enjoyable (2). The story is what kills the game. To leave an audience as big as thing game was going to receive an ending like this one is just cruel (1/2). Total - (5.5/10)

    Personally having played the game 2 times first time on moderate just for experiencing the game and digesting the game normally and the second time for **** and giggles and feel like a badass with the accessibility options turned on, and this is what I have to say. First the Gameplay, it was phenomenal with brutally and ruthlessness not seen since this side of Manhunt, now the graphics my man... my man... This game... This game is beautiful to hell and back, That's all I have to say. Now onto the reason why this is a 4, The story. Now to say this is story is OK would be kinda generous not to dive into it as I'm sure someone else can say it better than me, so the issues really revolve around the characters and the ending with Characters acting weirdly and a little too convenient for the plot such as my main men Joel and Tommy being a little too generous with people they just met, Being forced to play as the killer, strangely graphic sex scenes from a company that censors anime **** trying to make me feel sympathy for the killer and having it fall flat on its face, killing a main character for shock value. The ending not having you go through with getting revenge on the main man's Joel's killer.    … Expand

Joel deserved better , I don't mind him dying was kinda expecting it (I avoided all spoilers before playing this) could have sent him off in an epic way like protecting Ellie or how John Marston died. To top it off they made me play as Abby and no matter how hard they tried to humanize her it just didn't work for me I already knew Abby had her reasons to kill Joel with out them tryna explain it to me for 10 hours and trying to make her likeable they tried so hard to make Ellie seem like the bad guy killing the pregnant lady killing the dog etc but each time Ellie killed Abby's friend it was self defence and or she showed emotion/regret where as Abby in that theatre scene was about to slit Deena's throat by while saying good despite knowing she is pregnant. And all the events in Jackson Seattle had no emotional toll on Abby she was happy dandy looking for fire flies where as Ellie was an emotional wreck and had PTSD. The lesson which naughtydog is tryna teach was revenge= bad thn why did it have the opposite effect on me where I wanted revenge till the end of the game and they couldn't even give me that, Joel wasn't avenged and Ellie lost everything.

Não julgo se você que está lendo gostou, mas que há sérios problemas com o roteiro, motivações dos personagens e até uma mudança em suas características e personalidades que não condizem com o mundo em que estão e com o que vivenciam diariamente, isso existe sim (sim, estou falando do acontecimento com aquele personagem e o porquê). Isso e o desrespeito do Neil Druckmann com os fãs, é deplorável - existem SIM babacas boicotando o jogo porque simplesmente não conseguem viver numa realidade que há pessoas com a sexualidade diferente da deles, mas negar que muita gente está chateada com o roteiro e com o rumo que a história toma e com o desrespeito aos personagens amados pelos fãs... Falta de maturidade! Poxa, o primeiro jogo tem tantos clichês de narrativa e de gameplay e consegue se reinventar tão unicamente e nesse é tão... seletivo - "tal personagem vai morrer de uma maneira assim só pra chocar e subverter expectativas, mas esse aqui que nessa situação com certeza morreria (já que é um jogo bem "realista", por assim dizer), não precisa porque não satisfaz o meu roteiro pífeo." Não esqueçamos do vazamento do roteiro e de cenas importantes do jogo! Um Estúdio Sony negligenciar um aviso de falha de segurança como se não fosse nada e se botar num pedestal dessa maneira? A NASA, o Pentágono e muitas outras corporações com uma segurança MUITO mais bem desenvolvida já foram hackeados, mas a Naughty Dog? Claro que não! O primeiro jogo sabe abordar questões que incomodam um público mais conservador de uma maneira tão brilhante e até mesmo "conscientizadora", que condiz com o mundo em que os personagens estão, enquanto que a sequência força tanta coisa goela à baixo! Sim, temos que educar e normalizar questões de gênero, sexualidade, afinal, somos humanos e cada um de nós merece direito à escolha de como quer viver e respeito em relação à coisas que não são escolhas (como sexualidade, identidade de gênero e etc.), mas da maneira que os temas são abordados, toda a história e os personagens parecem uma desculpa pra esses debates (não é à toa que muitos devs e roteiristas insatisfeitos com a história foram demitidos, E SEM ESQUECER também do crunch praticado pela empresa). Enfim, o jogo poder até ser bom ou razoável no que se propõe, mas pelos motivos aqui citados, não merece o GOTY e de longe é um 10!!… Expand

It’s a different game that delivers a different experience than other games does. You will go through a roller coaster of emotions. Love, hate, regret, confusion, love again, pity, hate again emptiness and by theI hated the game (based on spoilers) before I ACTUALLY played it. I will keep this short. A game is meant to be played. The Last of Us Part II is not all rainbows and flowers. It’s a different game that delivers a different experience than other games does. You will go through a roller coaster of emotions. Love, hate, regret, confusion, love again, pity, hate again emptiness and by the end, you might hate again or feel some kind of enlightenment... This game offers SO MUCH, like no other game I’ve ever played before. (hardcore gamer here). Give it a try. Shut it out all you might think you know about this game, don’t be afraid to dive in, you (probably) won’t regret. And, if you do, you still got a lot to think about it afterwards. Your moral compass will be challenged in TLOUPartII, and just for that, it is worthy.… Expand

I’ll keep playing the first one and pretend they left it at that. And no this has nothing to do with the gay and trans characters the story is just that crap. How are you gonna kill off Joel? Scratch that, it’s fine he died but it was the way he died was stupid. Why would he give his name and location to some randoms? Why did Ellie let Abby live after everything that was done to her?     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As already mentioned, this story is a continuation of the first part and demonstrates the consequences of the events of the first part. The plot is built on revenge and hatred, what violence leads to and what is the price of justice.
    Ellie, wants only revenge for the crime because of which she is tormented by a thirst for justice with this and for this she goes to Seattle to search for the guilty.
    The city is a battlefield in which there are two fractions:
    Seraphites - ‘’ scars ’’ and ‘’ WLF ’’ or ‘’ Wulfs ’’ - Washington Liberation Front.

    I won’t stutter about the gameplay, it’s awesome, exactly like everything else, and therefore I would like to discuss and tell, as much as possible without a spoiler script.

    In the course of the story, we will explore a city that looks amazing. I want to explore every building and every brick with its facing, in this case, the developers tried their best.
    Ally, obsessed with revenge, she goes on to do very scary things, the game is very cruel and if the first part seemed cruel to you, then here cruelty is multiplied by 200%, which only colors the game. There are also bright memories of Ellie, which dilute this darkness.
    The first half is only an introductory part, the second half reveals the other side of the coin and this needs to be seen and played. The game may seem prolonged and incomprehensible, but it is necessary to reveal the characters and enhance the effect of the ending of the game.
    Music plays even more on your emotions, makes you cry and rejoice. Without a doubt, the composer Gustavo Santaolalla has great respect, we take off our hat.
    But the juice itself is the last chapters. Imagine Tony Montana at the end of a ‘’ Scarface ’’, but only you are the one who attacks his palace. It is here that Ellie is revealed as a cruel and merciless girl who has no choice but to revenge. The game plunges a knife into you, which twists the blade inside your tissues and makes it clear how thorny the path of revenge is? What is the price of revenge? Was it worth it? What remains after the completion of justice? Does it make sense to get revenge? Soak your hands or entrust it to fate?
    It is about this game, about the continuous cycle of violence that generates even more violence. Revenge freaks Ellie, provoking the desire to kill, after which the question arises: ‘’ How are you better than this? ’’.
    What if, sooner or later, justice comes to the person who deserves it?
    Each player will make a conclusion for himself after passing, but the story will not leave anyone indifferent. Perhaps you will hate the game or vice versa. I would like to tell more, but all the details, even minor ones, are the whole mechanism from which this machine works. The story is masterpiece, there was no such thing in games or even the movie industry.
    Everything is perfect in this story, but most of all I want to again mention what promise the ending carries, demonstrating the result of Ellie's revenge? What did she have to become for her purpose? What sacrifices did she make?
    The game leaves very sad emotions, it is merciless to the player in the same way as Ellie when she opens the throat with a knife to the next “Woolf” or “Seraphit”: calmly and cruelly. Indeed, everyone had the thought of revenge, how would you commit it, when you think that you will enjoy the process, but in fact you will get even more pain. It will not distinguish you from the one who deserved the punishment, you will not become yourself anymore after what you have done. You spoil yourself and The Last of Us Part II makes you think about it. In the end, I can say that this is the best game I have ever played and perhaps the best that exists in the gaming industry. This is an amazing piece of art. If you are among the viewers, plot plums for 3 hours and have constructed a negative opinion, the conclusion is obvious who you are. In this game, there is no agenda for the LSS and LGBT propaganda, this is not and never has been.

El juego es una experiencia en terminos de jugabilidad increible, los detalles geniales, se notan los años que le dedicaron al juego, sin embargo la historia carece de detalles e incoherencias respecto al mensaje que quiere dar, no esta mal pero la forma en que esta estructurada no es la correcta, ya que abby es un personaje que es odiable desde el echo de matar a joel y cuando se juega con ella ( me molestó eso), si no nos hubieran mostrado desde el principio las acciones de abby, si no que más adelante y controlándola sin saber que es lo iba a hacer, el juego hubiera sido perfecto en historia (cambiando también el final), para mi es rejugable, sobretodo en modos más difíciles y sobre algún mensaje político o lgbt+ la verdad se vieron pero no fueron el mensaje principal o como si te los metieran a la fuerza para cambiar el pensamiento de la gente, solo estaban ahí para que uno se diera cuenta, pero no encontré nada progre, en conclusión el juego es un 6-7 de 10 lo que no le llega al 10 es la historia :(.… Expand

    Everything built up in the previous game was destroyed here. Side characters weren't memorable, story made no sense, and the ending was absolutely garbage. The devs tried to go for realism by killing characters randomly, but this makes for horrible story telling where all your favorite characters will end up dying.

    The story and gameplay gave me as much if not more emotions as the first part. And that's always the win in my book. Great game. I applaud the Naughty Dog and Niel Druckman for not catering to their fan base and making something that stands out from any expected scenario for a sequel.

I wish they had gone a different route with the story, and yes the story had it's issues, I fully expected either Joel or Ellie to die in this one so Joel being killed wasn't a huge shock, but the biggest thing for me is how and when they chose to kill Joel, and the bits where they try to make you feel bad for Abby but I do understand what they are doing. If only I could excuse you for what you did to Joel’s character, along with the original nature of all TLOU characters, this game would be great. But you take the cautious slow-to-trust Joel who will ignore a family on the road and kill and “injured” man with his truck (rightfully so), and make him into a weak, pathetic excuse of an imposter. How could Joel ever trust a random stranger in the woods instantly, let alone a whole freaking suspicious gang of them? And after years of killing, and literally annihilating the Fireflies and preventing a vaccine, you still decide to keep your same name. Pathetic. joel should have died heroically, or at least not by his own stupidity that’s not true to him.

    And for you to make 10 hours of gameplay attempt to make Abby’s actions appear valid, to the point of forcing the player to bash Ellie’s face in nearly?? Anyone with half a heart and brain would be able to reason better that Joel’s crime was far more justified than hers. Her story line is disgusting, horrible filler material.

    And Ellie. Raised on the grit and character of Joel and the feds, she even showed this in the first game very quickly. Yet somehow she now second guesses her vengeance AFTER murdering hundreds of people, which costs her everything? You leave your dedicated fan base with nothing to enjoy, nothing to even feel good about being sad about. Her last moments with Joel shown, the brief bliss of JJ, finding Abby - I would’ve even been happier if she just got in the boat at first, and not blue ball her death just to make a pointless point.

    This game pushes a lot on its fans - many of which are no longer fans - and though you may think you’re “righteous” for teaching everyone a lesson in revenge (which was horribly HORRIBLY contradicting itself every other chapter), all you’ve done is abandon TLOU and kill off everyone who waited for the ACTUAL story to continue.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
