    I didn't get to play the The Last of Us until I snagged a PS4 at the end of it's life cycle, after smashing my way through it over 3 days I instantly fell in-love with it. So naturally when the sequel was announced I had a first-class ticket on the hype train, good lord was that a waste of money.

    Graphics are stunning, sure, any game on rails is going to be good looking, but it's far    I didn't get to play the The Last of Us until I snagged a PS4 at the end of it's life cycle, after smashing my way through it over 3 days I instantly fell in-love with it.     Graphics are stunning, sure, any game on rails is going to be good looking, but it's far from the best looking game this generation as some have claimed on this website.
    Story? Hmm... Not going to dump any spoilers on here but what a massive disappointment that was, Ellie acting out of character, various plot-holes and a very unsatisfactory ending.
    Gameplay is very similar to the first one minus the environment puzzles, in that it's extremely shallow with bland "stealth" mechanics attached.

    I would recommend you spend your hard earned cash else-where, preferably into Cyberpunk 2077, or Vampire Bloodlines 2 at the end of the year, while the game is certainly not a "0" it's most CERTAINLY not a 10/10, or a 100/100 (This is what's considered a perfect game from the media... yeah, if you believe that then I got a bridge to sell you).    … Expand

    How to sum it up: certain people hating on it for a character death really doesn't watch much tv(Red wedding, ned starks beheading) To name a few. I was shocked when I saw a 4.2 but I heard it's a reviewbombing so just giving my honest rating after I actually played it.

    When Druckmann said that the game was going to be divisive he wasn't kidding but hey it's common to every great piece of art ! When people will stop to talk about what they don't know (how to write a story and how to use a medium to it's full potential to convey a story) maybe they'll start to enjoy the game. Sorry for bad english and love y'all !

    I bought a PS4 to play Red Dead Redemption 2, after playing TLOU2 I'm now thinking of selling it. Utter trash, I've never felt so depressed after playing a game. Games are meant to be fun, or at least make you think, this game made me want to end my life.

Don't listen to all the negative reviews, they are mostly from from Xbox owners who are jealous they don't get exclusives of this quality. If they hated it so much why did they buy it?     I played the original and felt this one wasn’t what the fans deserved. The story felt like a joke and I was regret getting hyped. Loads of better games to play right now. Get rekt Kenny.

    several bugs make the game horrible to play at times. story is ehh compared to the original. visuals are nice. the rest of the components that make up the game aren't.

    A phenomenal game, beautifully put together. It will go down as one of the all time greats. In every sense, a worthy ‘part II’ to the original game, improved in every way, but with a much more complex story to tell.

    The game has a great graphics, no loading between the chapters, an unforgettable music, best mo cap and voice acting performance, and an amazingly fun gameplay all which is wasted for the poor story telling, some reading this review may say all this can't be ruined by story but all I say is wait until you play it yourself you'll understand how bad it is that you don't wanna continue the game from a point.
    I just don't understand what was all that we got in the first game? what was that for? all that character development all that bounding to those characters was for what? to just say hey we made you love them now we destroy them, it was so sadistic move, it was't just a bad ending, it was abusing and insulting for me, a big fan of the game and almost every other fans I know.
    I'm deeply sad for what has happened to this great game so many different ways to continue the story to please the fans and create something unique but, too bad they chose the way to insult the fans and destroy the game in a unique way.
    Naughty Dog has now a way to go to regain it's fame.    … Expand

First, the most beloved character (joel) from the previous installment is killed in a treacherous and pathetic way and the worst thing is that they expect you to love the murderer (Abi) despite her actions.
    He feels forced what is political, always trying to spit it in your face, we have paid a game to have fun, not to educate us.
    The level design is boring, repetitive and confusing, many times it happens that you do not know where to go because it is not well designed, you cannot explore as freely as promised and it is boring because of how poorly designed they are many times, besides that later it happens that places are repeated (How can a place where criminal trials are made compared to a restaurant?).
    The story feels stuffy, it has no rhythm and when you think it is going to get interesting, cinematic from a flashback.
    The enemies are pathetic, they do not show intelligence, their patterns are all the same and repetitive and it becomes boring because just pressing two buttons is enough to kill them.
    The music is poorly implemented, it is not supposed to be because you must listen to the enemies (which are scarce) and the game becomes monotonous and boring.
    And the end....
    I give a zero for the lack of respect that the creators had to the original game    … Expand

    This game is amazing, don’t trust this MC overall score, seriously. Playability remains the same as the previous game, with some nice improvements. The story and visuals are of course the best aspect of this game - everything is involving and makes you want to uncover what the hell is going on.     The story is ok, but the ending just renders the entire thing a moot point, it's pointless and has no pay off.

    The ending should have been Ellie kills Abby and she crawls up to the shore and lays down breathing heavily, with "All Gone (Aftermath)" from the first game playing, and the screen fades to black with one last breath.    … Expand

    I love this game. It is a beautiful game graphically and it excels in atmosphere and excitement. The game is making you feel raw emotions and you feel as a hardened and tough as nails warrior throughout the game, while also feeling (relatively) vulnerable. Killing people feels hard as it should be, even though that is still part which it is all about. I love how roaming through theI love this game. Music and sound design are top notch! Character design is outstanding and facial animation and movement is better than I have ever seen before. Also the acting and dialog are best I have ever seen in a video game.

    The gameplay loop also feels great to me. It feels much the same as part 1, which I also loved to play.
    It is a bit more streamlined and varied. It is also one of the very few games in which I found that the story fragments and collectibles were actually worth searching for. If you didn't like the first game though, you probably won't like this one either.

    The story is like the first game very powerful and emotional and all about love, hate, despair, revenge and enjoying the small things in live. People are not nice in this hard world, and no-one is really good. You mostly see the ugly parts of people that want to survive and want revenge when they are wronged. The story of the first game is better, as this one is missing the driving force of the first game about 'saving humanity'. It is more about (pointless) revenge, and human fallibility. Even so, I felt very invested in the story.

    I have a few small annoyances. I didn't like the shamblers and stalker infected enemy's. They were annoying and hard to kill, even though they are still defeatable. Luckily these encounters are not too frequent. I also thought finding materials was unbalanced. I didn't have enough tape for long stretches, and quite often didn't find a melee weapon. Other materials are much more in over abundance and not needed that much.

    Bottom line is that I love this game. It made me feel most human emotions strongly at some point. The game feels very exciting and tense at moments, and my heart was pounding at many times. I don't think it is perfect, but it is not far from it.    … Expand

The story is just rinse and repeat all the way through. Even using, not one , but two pregnancies to try and pull on your heartstrings. The only decent scenes are the flashbacks with Joel. It recreates some of the magic of the first game but then soon rips it away and leaves you missing Joel again. Then they have the audacity to make you play as the murderer who killed him. Just plain awful compared to the first game.… Expand

    I think that Abby symbolizes Joel. At the end, Ellie finally forgives Joel for taking away the purpose of her live. She therefore let’s abby live.

    To my opinion the story is very well done.

    Even when you are not a fan of the story, there is so much more than that. Because of its beautiful graphics and gameplay, there game is a beautiful experience.

O problema do jogo é o enredo, a proposta! Não tem nada a ver com lacração! Vamos as partes boas: Gráfico insano e gameplay muito bem feita, realmente muito bom!

    Agora sobre o enredo... Ate a metade do jogo ele é fenomenal! Você tem o impacto da morte do Joel, você joga com a Abby sem saber quem ela é... Assim descobrindo que jogou com a 'vilã' da historia é muito interessante! Mostram o impacto disso na Ellie, os flashbacks com o Joel, ela tentando seguir a vida pelo fardo do primeiro jogo, de ser a cura, de se sentir deslocada, e tudo mais! Muito interessante e tava muito bom! Ai chega o meio do jogo e a coisa começa a ir agua abaixo...

    Primeiro, temos o contraponto, o jogo vir chover no molhado e falar que o mundo é cinza... Dando a visão de uma única personagem, que 'sofreu' por efeito das ações dos protagonistas... Como se na quantidade de mortes do primeiro jogo, apenas uma pessoa próxima das vitimas tivesse se ferrado... Tentam fazer você criar empatia por alguém após ela fazer algo pelo personagem que você acompanhou um jogo inteiro, que foi um dos melhores jogos que você jogou na vida... Você ate entende o por que ela fez isso, mas empatia não rola! Ate por que ela matou pelo motivo egoísta igual a Ellie quer matar ela, não foi por o Joel ter ferrado o mundo, foi simplesmente por que ele matou o pai dela...

    Seguem tentando humanizar a Abby e você só esperando pra voltar a jogar com a Ellie... Ai tem o ponto 'forçada do roteiro'... Tu comprou e foi hypado pelo jogo para uma historia de vingança, é motivado a isso ao longo do jogo em todos os flashbacks... E quando você vê, você tem que lutar contra a Ellie em um plot twist? Blz, é impactante, mas é forçar uma situação, já que quem você estiver controlando vai vencer, afinal você que esta jogando, e com isso criar o ponto de misericórdia! Para ai chegar no fim do jogo e termos o outro ponto, que vingança não leva a nada, vamos perdoar, paz e talz...

    Mas para e analisa... A Abby tem sua vingança do jeito que quis, pelo motivo que quis, fica viva, e ainda tem na Lev uma 'luz' para sua redenção! E a Ellie? Só se fode! perde a família, os amigos, vê as pessoas que conhece afundar, perde a possibilidade de tocar violão, o ultimo legado do Joel e fica sozinha a deriva...

    Tentam botar um ponto que vingança não leva a nada apenas para a Ellie! Mas se analisar a Abby se da bem no final, fazendo justamente o que tentam pregar que não leva a nada... e só tem misericórdia da Ellie no meio do jogo por causa do roteiro, que te faz jogar com a abby em vez de jogar com a 'protagonista'!

    A proposta do jogo se contradiz! literalmente por causa do roteiro, tentam dar uma justificativa bem fraca, por não ser natural ao jogador escolher, você só é forçado a isso, não tem o impacto de você concordar ou não com a situação, só acontece... Ainda por cima, deixam a Abby, que o próprio jogo faz questão de dizer q não é flor que se cheire, ganhar a salvação no final!

    Se queriam botar esse ponto de moralidade que tivesse criado um sistema de escolhas no jogo! Foi muito aquém do que eu esperava, tudo bem que superar o primeiro era difícil, mas podia pelo menos ficar no mesmo nível...    … Expand

Ellie forgiving Abby doesn’t make sense because of Abby she lost her dad figured, Dina and JJ basically her life just to get revenge but then all of a sudden she just spares her? She killed every friend of Abby and hundreds of people but all off a sudden ReVeNge Bad??? Yeah that ruined the whole game from me. And the other thing that is bad is how they treated Joel he deserved way better. But the overall story is not that bad, gameplay and graphics are a 10/10… Expand

    Some aspects of the game were great, but you would expect that from a AAA title. The story swung between average to terrible. If I could turn back time I would have just saved myself the money and watched someone play it on YouTube.

    Several mistakes were made in this game. The direction of the story is terrible and it leads the player feeling empty because there is nothing gained or learned from this entry and could possibly just be ignored. If you're looking for entertainment and a heartwarming story or enriching experience, this is NOT it.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Gameplay is Improved from the first including combat and stealth mechanics. Graphics and overall world building is gorgeous. Little to no glitches. Everything feels very polished. But the main problem most people seem to have with the game, is the story. Or lack there of. I would like to touch on that topic to finish my humble review. First, people say Joel's death was a waste, and was simply just an excuse to continue the series. False. Joel made a sacrifice that affected the entire world's future and while we love Ellie and Joel's development, what Joel did was unforgivable in the eyes of the rest of the world. Including Ellie. If you think he didn't deserve to die, you're living in ignorance of what his actions mean for everyone else. Further exploring those consequences makes for an interesting Revenge/Forgiveness angle. The ending has harbored more hate for this game than I think I've ever seen. I would have liked the ending to have happened differently as well. But the way it happened, regardless of what people think, still goes in line with the story of this particular game. Second, the Homosexuality displayed a "few" times throughout the game is upsetting to many people, simply because they believe that some sort of SJW agenda is being forced down their throats. This is ridiculous to say the least. Not once did I feel that way, because the moments when it happen are so few, and the main focus is on Ellie and her journey to get revenge for Joel. Perhaps certain things pull people out of their comfort zones, and for many, that can leave a bad taste in their mouth. Many could agree that the characters acting as side roles in the game are a little bland and uninteresting, and I could agree with that. But I still don't feel like them existing took anything away from the story. In a game coming off of so much success from it's predecessor, you would think there would have been more dynamic characters they could have worked with. But sadly, TLOU1 had very few characters that we cared about besides Ellie and Joel. Which might be a single downfall of the original. Because now we have to start from scratch. Dina and Jesse and other side characters atleast felt like real people with real problems that an audience should be able to connect with. But again, the story obviously cares solely about Ellie and her journey. So they fall to the wayside. Which is fine. The games build up and thrilling moments become more intense when it's just you and you have noone to rely on But yourself. I give this game an 8 and not a 9 because the story could have had some more quality. I defend it against the hate it's been receiving mainly because the majority of hate directed towards this game is unwarranted. While everyone is entitled to their opinion, it's come to my attention, after reading several, several reviews, that most people found one thing wrong with the game that has driven them to say what they say. And that's the story. And that's fair. But not fair enough to give the game a 3. So many people have a problem with different aspects of the story, so they want to lump every part of it together, roll it up, and say it is all trash. And that is not fair. So many moments in this game shined very brightly, and made for an enjoyable experience. And sadly a few moments made me realize just where that hate was coming from. But I'm glad to say that there was way more good than bad. Final notes
    If you're looking to play a gorgeous game with intense thriller/horror style gameplay, with fast paced action, high quality stealth mechanics, rewarding adventuring, and overall a decent story line. I felt this story was a complete departure from what made the first game so good, and only time is between the positive attention this game is receiving and the dizzying reality it has completely failed at leaving the kind of valuable mark that now appears a one-hit-wonder in the first. Unfortunately, this sequel isn’t warranted, and its best quality of reconciling Joel’s death through intelligent characterization in Abby is ultimately a plot point fundamentally reliant on the complex morality of the first game. The writing team has failed to meet the quite fairly brutal expectations set by the first game, but I didn’t ever think it could be this vapid, poorly paced, and with Ellie’s awful characterization, at times even an unenjoyable experience.     There is nothing which I would change with the game: great music, great graphics and great story as we continue the story from the first part and not begin a second one.

    We've got a story which changed the characters, it is a game of hate and love.Characters somehow at some point die or either change. Great endings where everyone is happy and lives happy doesn't exist. Decisions have been taken(Ellie took hers) and even if I might have choosen differently, that doesn't mean that the actual ending is bad. It is the end from ND's point of view, like it or hate it. And it's a damn good end and might be a good start for other stories if it has to be.

    There have been many shocking scenes where I had to take a few moments to process them. But that is exactly what we got promised.

    Passed really a lot of time since I've really enjoyed a First Party game like this one. I enjoyed it and I will enjoy it playing it again and I'll for sure play it on PS5.

    I hope Naughty Dog will continue to give us great story telling games and that every single Game Developer(First, Second and Third Party) will put the love and great work for details into their games like ND did.    … Expand

    The first last of us was always going to be a tough act to follow, but for me the last of us 2 really misses the mark. The story is an absolute mess, it is so jumbled up and out of place it barely makes sense. The way it chose to handle certain story decisions is baffling, the “revenge is bad” plot is generic at best. It lacks some serious execution at times. A lot of the game feels like a walking heavy breathing simulator with the odd zombie encounter and some boring puzzles. for a 20+ hour game there is a real lack of substance for nearly the entire first half, and most of the characters have no depth or development whatsoever, and are often discarded or killed with no further mention or care form the other characters. It is clear from this game how much the writing department is lacking after losing Amy Hennig, who probably deserves more credit for the first game than she received. All in all this feels like a real kick in the teeth to last of us fans who have waited and been excited for this game for 7 years.    … Expand

Last of us part 2 totally forgets this... There is no Ellie without Joel and likewise there is no Joel without Ellie.... Instead we have to play as the character that brutally murders Joel. Getting us to feel sympathy toward the person who smashes his skull in is near impossibl.     Let's start with the good:

    -Gameplay 8/10

    Many of the same mechanics were employed from the previous game, that goes for the good and the bad. Gunfights are still scary, humans feel inherently different to combat than the infected. Though they took away some of the oppressive force that clickers brought to the first game. They're more easily dealt with here.
    They did clean up melee combat with how hit boxes and animations worked so that was nice.

    -Graphics 10/10

    They did a tremendous job here. With the obvious limitations on the current gen consoles (I play a bunch on PC) there were very few times the frames would fall and take away from the experience; or the AA would have to over compensate for the amount of 'stuff' on screen' and give it a 'fuzzy feel'

    -Cinematic Elements 8.5/10

    Again they take the old from the last game and just polish it a little bit, the photo mode was a nice add but they didnt take time to really make something special like the first.

    The Bad and the Ugly:

    Story 1/10

    It's sad to say this. The game WANTED you to love it so bad. But the plot holes and the writing pitting the loved and well rounded characters of the first game against the antagonist; was not enjoyable in the slightest.
    Having Joel die brutally you knew this was about revenge. The town of jackson and Dina and the friends of Ellie have so little development that you're not really sure what's going on in the love triangle there.
    Becoming Abby and beating the **** out of the first story characters was just flat out terrible. Mixed emotions and failed attempts at comedic relief led to a flat character that just made for a lacking cohesive story. The plot armor of Abby was that of an Abrams Tank. She could do no wrong and it was obvious that the writing was centered around putting her in good light, but somehow against already loved characters. The killing off of secondary characters left the end of the game feeling empty and when you finally have a chance at revenge. True Revenge. What you set out to do at the beginning of the game. Never happens. You don't even get the choice.

    you destroy your relationship with Tommy, and Dina, set out on a warpath to Santa Barbara killing everyone and when you finally win. Having flashbacks of Joel, bludgeoned to death. you say "nah its ok" you let her go.

    Ellie can't play guitar anymore either since she bit off 2 of your fingers.

    Boom game's over.

    This game had the absolute potential of being the game of the year and the game of a decade. But appeasing SJWs and putting in all these "twists" with terrible writing destroyed any semblance of the first game. But they threw it all away because they needed to "include the wide audience that was going to play the game." BS.

    We play games for the same reason people watch sports or go to the beach. To get away from all that stuff. No one wants politics in sports. No one wants politics in games.

Lo que lo hace malo es la historia que es un cliché el tema de la venganza, no hacia falta arruinar a un buen juego por algo tan básico y conocido.
    Como juego puede ser muy buen juego pero no como the last of us, si tanto querían hacer un juego con esa narrativa (que no es mala) pero para T.L.O.U queda chica, hubieran echo otro juego con otro nombre y personajes, pero jugaron con el nombre y populismo que obtuvo el primero para hacer esto que no quedo bien y es lo tanto molesta, porque the last of us fue es y será ampliamente superior al nivel narrativo que es lo que tanto lo hizo destacar al nombre.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. El juego está increíble, se nota el esfuerzo de naughty dog en los detalles de las cosas, en los paisajes, escenarios, tanto como en las expresiones de los personajes y las emociones que te transmiten.
    En tanto en la historia te cambia de como ves a cada personaje, ya que de cada punto de los personajes ninguno es malo. Te hace empatizar con los personajes por ejemplo Abby, de querer verla muerta a querer que no la mate Elly, te hace ver que de igual madera sufrió Abby como Elly, y que ella también tiene esa misma sed de venganza de Elly porque mataron a su padre. Aún que todo ocurrió por Joel por matar a las luciérnagas y condenar de cierta madera a la humanidad, incluso Elly estaba dispuesta a dar su vida por la cura, te hace ver las relaciones y como han vivido cada personajes para tomar cada decisión, y ser lo que son.
    Tambien esde que le contó Joel a Elly lo sucedido, se rompió la relación de ellos pero con el tiempo Elly decide que quiere perdonar a Joel, y gracias a eso Elly no decide matar a Abby, casi como una forma de enmendar lo que hizo, y así soltar ese sufrimiento que trae por la muerte de Joel.
    La muerte de Joel fue rápida, incluso en términos del principio del juego ya que el es un gran personaje y dolió su muerte. ¿Merecía una muerta épica? No, ya que ningún personaje en los dos juego ha muerta de una madera épica, simplemente mueren de una forma rápida y cruel, ya que así es el mundo en el juego, nadie se va de una forma glorioza.
    Vez el cambio de los personajes de la parte I y II, Joel de ser un traficante de armas y asesinar para sobrevivir a ser un personaje más noble y protector (así como era antes de la muerte de Sarah), Elly de ser una niña divertida a ser una persona más sería y a las ves triste.
    En la jugabilidad mantienen lo mismo que en la primera parte, sólo agregan nuevas armas y algunas habilidades, con los enemigos se nota el cambio en la inteligencia artificial ya que ahora investigan y traran de razonar para encontrarte, pero lo demás no hubo un gran cambio.
    En los paisajes y los escenario es increíble el esfuerzo y detalle que dieron fue un cambio total que se disfruta mucho ver, incluso en las expresiones de las personajes y lo que logra transmitir, eso es lo que te hace más empatizar con el personaje y ver lo que siente.
    Lo único que trataron de forzar mucho es con el tema de ser "inclusivos", en partes del juego o la historia en si, agregan partes innecesarias y que no aportan nada a la historia, está bien pero tampoco no abusar, si no ayuda en nada al juego, ni aporta a la historia.    … Expand

    this game is so good, and you can’t say this game sucks cause c’mon, the graphics, the gameplay, the voice acting, the facial expression, the IA, the combats, they’re all fenomenal. The story is quite misleading but it’s still good!

Beside spoiler alert, in my opinion this game cannot have a 0 or 10 score, there are positive aspects that do not allow me to give it 0 and there are also, negative things that block me from the 10. let's get into it and why i don't go over 6 overall:

    Graphics: This is the best aspect of the game for me. The evolution it took from the first game as expected, mostly on the environment level. It is like cotton candy for a mouth, it melts your eyes, from the darkest zones in the city of Seattle to the country side of Ellie's house with Dina, it is superb.

    Voice Acting: Well, this a second if not equal to the graphics in score. Troy Baker, we get less of him on this second game but, well, top notch as usual. Ashley Johnson, Jeffrey Pierce, Shannon Woodward, Stephen Chang, they all do an awsome work also. The surprise (which is not from her career and talent) is Laura Bailey, that even if you do not like Abby character, Laura performance makes you like it at the same time. Wonderfull.

    Soundtrack: Gustavo Santaolalla does not desapoint. I could say the that environment sounds are not that great(could have more detail), and the key moments of the game, where the drama hits hard, could have a more heavy impact music, but that does not lower the quality overall. The cover songs and the guitar songs are wonderfull to watch/hear and will imprint in your memory.

    Gameplay: This is not negative, but not too positive also. From a TLOU player, they do not change a thing. It's not bad cause i enjoyed the first game, but i expected some type of evolution. like more fluid actions in combat or even actual choices in game progression for example.

    Story/Character Development: This is the key for me. Why? TLOU is a story driven game. It can have great graphics, music, acting, everything, but the game in the end, is a story driven game. This is also my opinion in the end. Everyone that is a fan, a true fan, cannot deny that the game falls short, for Abby surviving, and Ellie after losing everything, does not avenge Joel and ends alone... We watched a first game around Joel and Ellie, Where Joel would move the world to save and keep Ellie safe, but now, Ellie cannot do it. Let's be honest, Ellie like the game is made now, leaves in the air that the decision to spare Abby was due to what Joel would want for her, to release herself from the guilt and him and be happy without hatred. But if it was Joel in her place, every single one of them would have died without a second thought :) In my opinion also, the timeline is bad, i believe the game was more likeable if we alternate between Abby and Ellie more and not having that, torturing cliffhanger of Allie begging for Jimmy's life. I believe the purpose of the game, like it is, is to make you like Abby nevertheless what happened, so you can see her story, her choices, so you can accept her survival in the end. This is a creator decision, i won't argue with it, but has a fan, we expect to Joel, one of the pillars of the story of TLOU even dead now, to not go insignificant, like not being avenged after all he passed for Ellie, he didn't even had the chance to give his life for her (this could have been much better, having Ellie kidnapped to be killed by Abby and he dying to save her for example, could have been done). Joel dies to fuel the entire story, Let's be honest, Joel's death is the engine of this and ends with low closure for me. Anything could have happenned but Ellie needed to end this. I spent my fight with Ellie in the theater wishing to die so Ellie kills me, and the fight at the end trying to kill Abby without success... Has a TLOU fan this was my heart...

    In the end, we cannot argue with the superb technical quality of the game, and the director of the game is to be praised for this, but like everything, the success of a game is made by the players, not the technical analysts only. I honestly believe this game had to much influence from real world issues and less from what made the first game unique and nearly perfect. It is not an 8 or 9 because of this. The main aspect falls short, the story, not only the timeline construction but the expectations from the selling point, Ellie's revenge "of something".    … Expand

    What an emotional journey from start to finish, The graphics is awesome, the combat is amazing, and while the story isn't perfect especially the second half of the story, I can honestly say it one of the best games of 2020 weather you agree or not

    The game is great . It has a great story , eaual to its predecessor . Gameplay is as usual . Graphics are really nice and that goes for the extras . The only flaw is Ellie's movement which is slopy at least , something unacceptable for a game of this quality . Bold move to take a stand for the LGB community ,. Don t love it but it doesn't affect how i feel about the game .

    Technical marvel and groundbreaking graphics. The story on it’s own could have been decent, however, being a successor to the 2013 masterpiece makes it pure nonsensical trash that feels like trolling more than a continuation to the epic journey from the first part. I recommend that you buy it only when the price goes down especially if you enjoyed the gameplay from the original.

    It makes me laugh that people hate this game because of Joel's death and the other story feed, time to move on, and not hope for a happy ending.
    The graphics are perfect, the gameplay is perfect, enough Easter eggs, interesting character, it's all there in this game, the plot of course, for an Amateur,but it's still a MASTERPIECE.

So yes, get this game if you want to never particularly like characters and see as many plot holes as purposely bad 2000s movie, but with one difference, the last of us part 2 was made with great effort, and the 2000s movie was intentionally bad. That being said, I still played this game all the way through, but it was like trudging through a lake of oatmeal.     And for full disclosure i watched the game being played online (entire playthroughs are easily available now), i didn't play it personally, and i wouldn't even if offered to me for free, and instead of going into spoilers i'll discuss the dichotomy between the critics scores and the user scores, the game critics gave it 10/10 and gushed about it being best game of the year/generation/all time because they are shilling and protecting their privileges and exclusive media access to future Sony and Naughty Dog games, and gamers gave it 3/10 because they are angry and frustrated for several reasons.

    Not just because how the game play barley evolved in long 7 years, or because of the terrible story, lazy writing and demeaning sadistic treatment of the original characters, the nonsensical plot points and the meaningless ending, but also because of how the creators of the game (specifically Neil) are blatantly trying to push an progressive agenda (by Neil's admission and his creepy infatuation with Anita and her poorly researched and misleading anti-gamer series Feminist Frequency), and also because of the terrible crunch culture in Naughty Dog that made 70% of the team leave before game is done, many employees who left spoke of it, how it made some require hospitalization, and how it's so bad and pervasive that they couldn't find any veteran animators/CGI artists to work for them and had to recruit interns from the movie industry to work for them, finally people are pissed because of the false and illegal DMCAs filed by the shady shell company MUSO TNT Ltd that Sony and Naughty Dog used to strike and silence any YT channel discussing the leaks even if they didn't use any screenshots or videos leaked from the game, it was disgusting and very shady behavior.

    To top that, Neil's blatant progressive agenda and his enforcement of terrible crunch culture are probably the reasons Amy Hennig left too (she openly opposed the woke progressive narrative that women are discriminated against in gaming industry, and said she never once felt discriminated against because of being a woman).

    And the claim the review bombing is just because gamers are a bunch of bigots and hate gay/trans representation is nonsense, yeah people do meme and joke about it but it's not the real reason people are angry or review bombing the game, the expansion of The Last of Us called Left Behind had Ellie's lesbian kiss and her coming out as a lesbian and its user score is 8.2 and the Life is Strange game hinted a lot at two lesbian relations between the characters (Rachel X Chloe, and depending on player choices Max X Chloe) is rated 8.6 ... people have no problem with that if it's done right and the story and characters aren't sacrificed for it, but in TLoU2 it's not done right, it's done only so the writers and Neil can feel good about themselves and be congratulated for how stunning and brave they are by the woke activists and "influencers" on Twitter.

    My final verdict ... SKIP IT, save your money for something better.    … Expand

    I challenge anyone to think of a video game franchise that went further down the tubes than this? What a disaster. I can not believe Sony published this. This is so bad that I have lost some faith in the PS5...it's that bad. This will not be an easy scar to heal.     Wow! Wow! Amazing game DO NOT listen to negative reviews nothing out right now compares to this game. Probably the best single-player game I have ever played in my life, so many intense moments I have never felt playing a video game.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
