    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. para mi es uno de los mejores juegos que he jugado, los que dicen que no tiene sentido el final, es porque no lo entendieron, Ellie para cuando esta en la granja con su familia, ella ya no quiere vengarze pero es el trauma de no haber podido perdonar a Joel con vida lo que la atormenta, saber que sus ultimas palabras es haberle dicho que no lo puede perdonar es lo que la lastima, entonces emprende el segundo viaje para sentir que no esta mas enojada con Joel, cuando llega con ella la iba a dejar ir, pero es el primer flashback el que hace que sienta que tiene que hacerlo porque no piensa que deba terminar asi sin poder perdonar a Joel, por eso decide pelear, pero es en su segundo recuerdo cuando se da cuenta que por mas que quiera lo que hizo Joel no merece su perdon y por eso la deja ir, porque ya no tiene sentido matarla, no hay nada que la motive. Ya devuelta en la granja, intenta tocar la guitarra de Joel y se da cuenta que no puede, que ahora perdio definitivamente su unica conexion que le quedaba con Joel, por eso la deja, dando a entender que dejo a Joel atras… Expand

    For the sake of this agenda, it even killed a very loved character in a very hateful way. After finishing the game, I wish I haven't played it to preserve just TLOU1 in my memory.

Es un juego super interesante principalmente por la historia que lleva detrás, tiene unos gráficos hermosos junto con su jugabilidad exquisita... es verdad que capaz que no a todos le pueda gustar la historia de la parte 2, tanto por la falta de protagonismo de Joel como por las acciones de la nueva personaje principal, pero eso no significa que tengamos que echa el juego abajo .. cada persona tiene sus gustos y bueno... pudimos verlo reflejado en las valoraciones de este juego.     Terrible story telling, even boring sometimes. Characters (old and new) are unlikeable, badly written.
    The story is full of plot holes and weird choices, I felt like I was lost the entire game.

I was disappointed about that. And Ellie's actions are stupid at the end of the game. She broke Dina, why? And Tommy is not Tommy from the 1st part. He was smart brother in 1st part and he will newer ask Elly to find Abby. I didn't like the plot… Expand

    A great game from start to finish. The story goes along with the first game. Takes the harsh world and builds upon it amazingly. The story takes an unexpected turn in the beginning, this shocked me but kept me in the harsh world naughty dog have created making the story better because of it. The last of us is a special game to me and part 2 builds of that creating something well worth checking out

    I made an account just to try to make an actual unbiased review if this game. It is not a masterpiece and it’s definitely not a terrible game. Most characters are great p, but don’t get real proper endings to their stories. If you made the game shorter, and cut out the game’s last mission it would be a 8/10

    The only thing i didnt like was some of the decisions the characters made. Abby lets ellie go and she tries to kill her, then she does it again cuz stoopid. Also why do preganant women wanna be close to zombies so bad.

This game not only disrespects my favorite character, but it also destroys the characters from the first game. I hate being forced to play as a psychopath ( because that is what Abby is) who is trying to hunt my favorite characters. I don’t like having to beat a 19 year old girl Or playing as a character who says “Good” when she finds out that she is about to slit a pregnant woman’s throat. The only time when Ellie and Joel felt like the Ellie and Joel from the first game is during the flashbacks. I also hate how the game tries to humanice Abby. The marketing lies don’t help either.… Expand

I played the first game and loved it, it was a beautifully made game with mediocre gaming mechanics with good graphics for the time it came out. Once I saw the spoilers for TLOU2 I knew I wouldnt like it, but I got it anyway, beating the game. And I can tell you from the mouth of a die hard fan of the first game this was a huge fail on naughty dogs part. Killing off one of the two players that made the first game so great in such an unfashionable way was disgusting. The whole story feels like a slipped up sequel and it was executed in horrible fashion. I'll never recommend this game to anyone that's played the first game. Or anyone that hasnt played the series for that matter. 0/10 from me.… Expand

    Melhor história que já vi em um game, personagens cativantes e acontecimentos emocionantes. Já é meu jogo favorito, desbancando RDR2.

    Os reviews negativos por parte da comunidade homofóbica, ou de fãs tóxicos do Xbox, me deixam ainda mais feliz, por saber que essess otários não se deleitaram com esta obra prima.

    El juego es impresionante. Te sumerge en todo un camino lleno de dolor, en todos los sentidos posibles, te hace nudos en la garganta y te hace vivir una experiencia inigualable con aprendizajes que los personajes desarrollaron hasta el final del juego, sin duda me quedo con The Last of Us part II como uno de los vídeojuegos más increíbles que he jugado.

If anyone is reading this the most important thing I’d advise is to buy this game and play it for yourself because the backlash this game is getting is an absolute joke. The gameplay and graphics on this game for the current gen are absolutely breathtaking and I will most likely play through at least 2 more times if not more. Just the amount of polish, work and love that has gone into this game is incredible. I agree that at first I was apprehensive about playing as a new character but they grew on me as I played and I really changed my mind and the ending is just so satisfying.

    I love that they included a diverse cast of characters and touched on some really strong topics and powerfully demonstrated different perspectives. I don’t want to go into too much detail for spoiler sake but this is 100% worth £50.

    The major con I have for the game is pacing in some parts as there’s a lot of slow moving sections and long cut scenes which is why I’ve knocked off 1 point as these parts hinder the replayability slightly (would be great if ND lets you skip these sections).    … Expand

    I am a huge fan of the first game. Though I try my best to lower my expectations, I find it hard to say that tlou2 is a great RPG. Everything except for the story is great, I'm especially impressed with the detailed character model and physics effect, hail to the best ropes in video game history. But    I spent about 25 hours to beat the game and did not read the spoilers beforehand.

    I am a huge fan of the first game. Though I try my best to lower my expectations, I find it hard to say that tlou2 is a great RPG. Everything except for the story is great, I'm especially impressed with the detailed character model and physics effect, hail to the best ropes in video game history.

    But this is a story focused RPG, therefore major flaws in storytelling are simply not tolerable. Without spoiler, I'll list a few problems I found with the plot: 1. Characters don't behave consistently, one second they kill and torture people with absolutely no remorse, the next second they suddenly turned into a saint. 2. Unlike its predecessor, the theme of this game feels somewhat distant for me. I found it hard to sympathize with the choices made by the main characters. 3. A lot of basic stuff, like the language used by characters, handling of death scenes, etc. is simply not detailed and compelling enough. 4. The enemy AI and introduction of dogs as an enemy made it a lot harder to clear the game without killing anyone. Considering the game advocates against violence, this is somewhat sarcastic (how should a game discourage users on violent actions? Refer to MGS series!). 5. Some players may feel they are being pushed to make certain decisions.

    Talking about the 'pushy' aspect of this game. I am a born pacifist. I don't hate anyone, and would certainly choose to let go of hatred and vengeance. But I wouldn't dare to make that decision for someone else! As I am not in their shoes, it would be so arrogant of me to claim that I know better, or that I even understand what they feel. Some might be able to accept the game more if they are given choices like was done in other games (like the Witcher series, or even GTA).

    Even considering all these flaws, TLOU2 is not a bad game, why so many people gave extremely negative reviews? In my opinion, this is a retaliation against the high media score. For games rated 9+ on Metacritic, like FF7/10, like Zelda ocarina of time, like MGS4, you can easily scroll 10 pages on Amazon without finding a single negative review. The fact that this game got such mixed reviews on Amazon US and Japan, on PS store, and Metacritic user rating, speaks out the fact that the game media, who are supposed to be a reliable reference of a game's overall 'likability' (LUL on that), are not doing their jobs as good as we would like. Taste is a very diverse thing, yes, if there were more diverse opinions on this game from the media, I am sure a lot of people would not be as angry and disappointed as they are now.

    By the way, I think it's pretty rude to accuse other people as being homophobic/misogynic just because they dislike this game, as I said the taste is a very diverse thing, the fact that someone disagrees with you, does not make them evil ,or stupid. It's not like Ellie was not gay in the first game, right? No one was complaining about it back then, as a matter of fact, WE ALL LOVE ELLIE! And that is precisely why this game hurt me so much-- the person I love turned into a complete stranger.

    This is a difficult and even crazy time. I was hoping a masterpiece would bring us together through shared enthusiasm and love, and make this world slightly better. But it didn't, it made people even more divided and I am deeply saddened by this fact.    … Expand

    I Hate to see all those bad ratings to such a good game, a story that might not be the happy ending that everyone was expecting, but is a needed story about humans, about how into the darkness someone can go, how the antagonist can look just like another person with similar problems to the protagonist, those that drove them both to do bad things. I think the direction and the narrative focus of the game didn't make sense in regards to the characters, especially where they were at present in their respective timelines. Joel deserved a better end than he got and the direction they decided to go with would have made more sense later in the franchise. Instead you are left with something that feels rushed and not very well thought or fleshed out. I understand what they are trying to get across and the message they are trying to communicate and I think it's a great message by the way, however it just feel the delivery of it was poorly executed and delivered. What I did like was the game play and graphics and also the flashback of the relationship between Ellie and Joel play out over the 5 years at Jacksonville. Overall an okay game but not a masterpiece by any stretch. I expected better.… Expand

Почему половину игру я должен играть за неё? Я не могу сопереживать этому персонажу, Нил, это не работает. Она убила самого дорогого человека для Элли и я должен ему сопереживать? Нет, Джоэл тоже не святой, он убил очень много людей на своем пути, но такого даже врагу не пожелаешь. Быть забитым как скотина и ещё впридачу смачно харкнуть на его труп(спасибо что не пописали хотя бы).     El juego tiene una jugabilidad MUY DESTACABLE y transiciones de juego a escena increibles. Escenas que transmiten muchas emociones gracias a su guion y la maravillosa musica compuesta por Gustavo Santaolalla. Su historia...la tan polemica historia, en mi opinion tiene una historia muy tragica e iriente para la mayoria de los fans, la muerte tan temprana de Joel debido a Abby produce enojo, rabia y motivacion para ayudar a Ellie en su camino de vengar a Joel, matando a Abby. Debido a la primera entrega, la gente pudo conectar con Ellie y Joel y logicamente apoyan a Ellie antes que Abby, es cual es un personaje jugable que no termina de conectar y el jugador tampoco termina de identificarse con la misma. La historia es muy buena, solo que tiene un final muy reflexivo el cual no deja satisfechos a los fans ya que se esperaban que Ellie realmente mate a Abby y en lugar de eso, la deja huir. Personalmente no creo que sea un mal final, es buen final, solo que esta opacado por como es narrado, es decir, Ellie mata cientos de personas para llegar hasta Abby y una vez que la encuentra decide dejarla ir. Esto no resulta muy logico

    El juego es crudo y hay cosas que no queremos que pasen, sucesos inesperados, situaciones amargas y tristeza por doquier, pero así es la vida, tomamos malas decisiones, pasan cosas trágicas, hay tristeza, etc. Creo que el juego tiene sus pros y sus contra, pero sin duda es un juego que te hace sentir un sin fin de emociones, y más para los que lo hemos esperado desde hace más de 6 años.

It did not have the hope/grief rollercoaster of the first game. It just made me feel dull and empty and profoundly sad at the end. But that was the point right? There is nothing new in the gameplay we haven't seen already in other games. The only thing that's truly great about this game are the graphics. But that's it. The quality of the story rivals the story of Star Wars VIII: The last jedi.

    The story is nothing special. Not bad, not good. It's akin to something you'll find in a B movie that you'll watch to fall asleep to. Filled with dull tropes (e.g. kill all the underlings with no remorse, but deaths of characters with dialogue suddenly and coincidentally always get the protagonist emotional), uninteresting and underdeveloped cast of characters, and contrivances to keep the story from cornering itself (e.g. An enemy character has both protagonists under his mercy, but he pockets his gun to slowly choke one of our hero, completely turning away from the other protagonist, who just happened to break free of her restraints at that exact moment).
    All in all, if you turn your brain off while ignoring the ramblings of 80% of the cast who are desparately trying to make you feel Ze Deep Emoción, you will enjoy pretty sceneries of the post-apocalypse with some gunplay to keep the game from becoming a walking simulator. Keep in mind that I want mechanically in-depth, customizable, and challenging gameplay in my games, so this game is completely not my taste. But I finished the first one, might as well.    … Expand

This game was a refreshing departure from the cookie cutter, black and white happily ever after crap, and throws us deep into the gray end that is humanity. Loved this game as much or more than the first.

The visuals and gameplay are really good. The action set pieces when you're running away from a horde of enemies or a chase on foot are gaming highlights. The melee has a savage feel to it, Every fight is a brutal duel to the death all the character fight dirty. gouge out eyes, smash their heads into walls bite off fingers. In conclusion the story leaves much to be desired and will piss off a lot of fans but the gameplay and visuals are enjoyable.… Expand

    I loved it. It's as bittersweet as only a "The last of us" game can be. The story plays with your feelings and morals as few games can. Not the perfect game, but storywise I think it's the best of the year.

Due to the controversy surrounding the game narrative, and my own conflicting feelings after completing the game, The Last of Us Part II will surely be talked about for a while, for better or for worse.

    Story/World Building - 1/3

    I am normally a huge fan of Naughty Dog’s narrative, but the story in Part II is lackluster at best and hilariously funny at worse. New characters are poorly written and many are not given enough screen time making most characters like Dina, Jesse, or [REDACTED SPOILER] feel lifeless and inconsequential to the plot. Consider how the game stretches its thin and basic plot to almost 30 hours, you would think we would spend more time to learn about these new characters, but most screen time is taken up in the second half by [REDACTED SPOILER]. Most of the game’s plot felt like filler as it tries to poorly tell a story about the cycle of revenge, stooping characters down to basic character traits to fit the story narrative. There are a few heartwarming scenes from time to time that will make fans of the original happy, but once the game is going on to the second half, it goes downhill from there. If you’re planning to play Part II for its story, you might want to wait for a heavy discount before doing so.

    Gameplay – 3/4

    The great combat from the original is back and better than ever. Bigger landscapes give way for more tactical options. New weapons and crafting options help in providing varied gameplay scenarios that can be tackled in a multitude of ways. Everything works as expected besides the few technical hiccups. AI can be dumb at times or a stray bullet may go through a wall and kill you. It’s nothing that bad unless you’re playing on the hardest difficulty. The only downside besides the minor glitches is the lack of a multiplayer. The campaign is lengthy enough and can even drag on due to it’s over winded story, but the gameplay is still as intense and frantic as the original.

    Technical/Performance – 2/3

    Graphics are some of the best looking on the PS4 console. Technical hiccups still happen occasionally, as stated in the gameplay segment. Harder difficulties can make problems worse and at times can lead to the game feeling less polished than the original. The soundtrack is pretty good, a little less memorable than the first. Overall, it’s still close to a technical masterpiece but looks don’t make up for a lackluster story.

    Verdict

    The Last of Us Part II is a game of disappointing lows and really spectacular highs. It’s everything you wanted from the sequel and everything you did not want all at the same time. I want to like this game but the boring, elongated story is just painful enough to make it a slog to get through even with great gameplay. If you’re a fan of the original, you might want to wait for a price drop, as there are some scenes still worth seeing, but for those not the invested in this series, this might be a hard skip.    … Expand

Graphics, Physics, Scenarios, Level Design etc. The only thing I sinned more or less was the story that is important in games of this style. Joel's death hurt me even though he is not so fanatic of that saga and that the game is longer than normal are the only things that I did not like otherwise Very good game of the best of 2020. 7.5 / 10… Expand

    The reviewers and the game "critics" who got the 1 month early gave this game a 10/10 but the fans and the People who payed for this game gave it 0 to 3 i wonder why...

    The gameplay is good. As for the story, it is presented in a terrible way where you just don't care about it for a good 10 hours.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
