I really sad with this game!! I love first TLOU, but the second title is so bad... It's a nightmare!! they did destroyed the narrative. Kill Joel, What??? It's really frustrating!! I so disappointed because this... and the End, is so bad... I really sad... This type of game depending from the narrative... and this is very, very, very bad...

The only points I can give this game realistically belong to the cinematography and the graphics.

Neil Druckmann has spat on the fans that loved the first game, both figuratively and literally by having his self-insert character Manny spit on Joel's corpse. The game took me roughly 16 hours to finish and the ending is a massive letdown (the game ends with "Yep" ffs), I understand now

The game took me roughly 16 hours to finish and the ending is a massive letdown (the game ends with "Yep" ffs), I understand now why some scenes were hard for some of the team at Naughty Dog to model and/or complete fully, and I doubt anyone except Druckmann himself are proud of this so called "video game".

That brings me to my second point, the game is very linear aside from 1 or 2 open ended areas and feels more like an interactive movie than it does a playable video game, often just walking place to place or being placed into a cutscene, the Cordyceps infected are only in the game a handful of times making them feel like humanity isn't really under threat from them that much anymore. To put it into perspective what I mean about it being an interactive movie, a notable streamer had someone in his chat chart up just how much of what he played in 4 hours was actual gameplay, it came to 33 minutes OUT OF FOUR HOURS.

Save your money and wait for Ghosts of Tsushima, or buy Persona 4 Golden on PC if your money is burning a hole in your pocket. For fans of the first game the story is simply insulting, killing Joel in such a horrific and unceremonious manner, Ellie and Joel not really having any interaction outside of flashbacks/the ending and you don't even get the cathartic pleasure of giving Abby a taste of her own medicine after forcing me to play as and TRYING to get me to sympathize with this psychopathic serial killing woman for half of the game...

    Avoid. 2/10.

Damn. What is happening with game industry nowadays? This is not a video game. This is a video novel with a little bit of video game in it. "Press X at the right time to push enemy away". Bollocks. Gameplay mechanic that is 15 years old. Irritating main characters. It's good that indie games are getting better and better. AAA games are crap.

But the main thing on everyone's mind is its' divisive story. Personally, after playing start to finish, I loved and enjoyed every emotion I felt during the campaign. It was a little jarring not playing as Ellie in the latter half, but I can undoubtedly see why they did what they did. They brought new depth to the old adage "two sides to every story", and capped it off with a long, emotional, and impactful denouement.

This game wasn't about being a badass and mindlessly killing everything in your path. This is a game that makes you think, and weigh the moralities of this fictional universe.

I strongly suggest playing the first game if you haven't already, just to get a better feel for the story. If you just want to loot and shoot, this game might be for you, but unless you can open your heart and see the message Naughty Dog was trying to send, and make us feel, then I can understand why you would pass on this game. Just don't give it a zero solely because it didn't live up to what you built up inside your head all these years waiting for the game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I waited so long for this game. I understand that Joel had to die to progress the game. Although being brutally beaten to death in front of Ellie is a slap to the face to the character and the fans. Joel & Tommy would’ve never been that complacent. The game play/mechanics are amazing, but I can’t get passed how Joel was killed. Then out of nowhere you play as Abby for 10hours!? Another slap to the face. Then to top it off Ellie let’s her go at the end. The motivation to excel in the game is to get revenge... and you let her go? Makes Ellie look weak and ignorant. Ellie lost everything... Joel (father figure), her gf (&JJ), 2 fingers bitten off (now she can’t play guitar), Tommy lost an eye, and SHE DIDN'T AVENGE JOEL!!!! That’s a slap to the face to Tommy’s character as well. She had no problem killing everyone else but the one person that started it all gets to go free? It was poorly written. I think they had some administrative issues within ND that was prolonging the release and they quickly slapped together this trash. I feel personally let down. As do many other gamers. I think the fact that this game was so horrible should reflect on Neil Druckman’s work ethic and it should cost him his job position at ND. He’s so out of touch with the characters, he should’ve never made a Part 2. I’m done with ND games. I hope they see this review..... YOU LET US ALL DOWN! Expand

New characters shoul've owned this sequel, since the sinergy with all the first game ones do not sinergyses that good with the storyline they try to build, however, gameplay and artistics are pretty good but in a game with 60% cinematics, the storyline is the most important element.

Honestly having played the first last of us game, it was such a fun and enticing game, with an amazing storyline. It was both fun and harrowing experience playing.

But with this sequel, the only redeeming factor is the soundtrack and graphics. And that is all I can be amazed of, the gameplay hasn't changed much with a few tweaks and kinks being fixed from the first game, the characters aren't invested enough for me to be attached to and especially how the game just brush of the history of the first game for a cliche revenge story. Naughty dog definitely screwed up with this game, they could have delivered an amazing game even with just using Ellie as the only main character but no, they have to screw it up by bringing in a new character(Abby) which we the fans of the first game have no emotional value towards, so many flaws here and there, oh and I couldn't care less about using female characters, but at least make them likeable for us the players. The ending could also have been more impactful for us if it justified the death of Joel, it's hard seeing him die a dog's death with no reason.

This game took 7 years for them to make, it could have been better especially that storyline. Fans are already accustomed to the dark tone and are ready for anything Naughty dog could have given them, but this is just a complete mess, the amount of dark tone in this game isn't even justifiable. Seriously disappointed as a long time fan of both Naughty dog and the TLOU franchise.

But moving on to my honest opinion about this game in particular: I think the characters really stood out to me. As in any Naughty Dog game, this one is also very character-driven. Ultimately, this is a story about revenge, hate, and violence, but also about redemption and forgiveness. Yes, I agree that this theme has been heavily used in every entertainment medium, but they rarely do it justice. I can happily say that The Last Of Us Part II has not did justice to the theme itself, but also did stay true to the world, the character development, and the hidden symbology behind this perfectly crafted cyclic narrative (which I will not spoil, but it has to do with the ending itself). All the narrative beats fit perfectly with each other, and it always brings other elements of surprise, right when you think you know what to expect for the ending, another story beat hits you in the face and changes your perspective. Also, you should never go to part II expecting the same thing you experienced in part I. Although that same feeling can be felt through other types of relationships, and some perfect flashbacks, the first one is very different from the second one. Lastly, I just want to say that I think this game will not only define how we all experience video games in the future, but also define how they are engineered, thought, and its story will be discussed and debated for many years to come, just like we did for the first one.

PS: Don’t be the dick who gives 0’s without experiencing it.

After waiting for 5 years for this game and avoiding any social media or spoilers i can honestly say this now one of my favorite story games of all time. Let me be clear though... I was not happy that certain people died and i was not happy that i was forced to play as certain characters and i was not happy about the choices some characters made. I wasn't happy but it was necessary and not pointless.
This game had moments where i was physically effected by the drama happening on screen. I was afraid that the writers and the director were going to make me do things i didn't want to do. It was very hard but i trusted the story and just kept playing. After playing through the mid game twist you start to realize the underlying message. There are no heroes in this world and the choices we make have consequences.
Last of Us 2 is a true sequel in the sense that this whole game is the fallout of the choice that Joel made at the end of Part 1 and by the time to get to the end you will be happy that good does prevail and the cycle of hate can be broken by an incredible gesture of empathy.
This game took a BOLD chance by holding up a mirror to the player. the game forces you to face you biases and forces you to consider the consequences of our actions.
If you are unable to look past the sexual preference of the main character( which was established in part 1) or if you cant enjoy the game because the message feels too "political" this is not the game for you. The team behind this game are not trying to force you to like certain things or agree with them. They are simply trying to get you to understand them even though you may hate them. Respect and understanding is what the characters in this story are missing and they suffer for it and it hurts to see them suffer. for those of you who have had the game spoiled and are hesitant to play let me just say this... The writing is Phenomenal and to trust the makers of the game to stick the landing.

    Thank you.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I knew about the leaks but knew as a fan of the first game I had to buy it and play it without my opinion being pushed by other reviews. After playing this I had a moment of happiness because I thought I saw everything come full circle and saw a beautiful story. It was only then I realized I was in denial.
I knew Joel was gonna die, I think most fans knew it was coming and how it was gonna happen, but not so quickly in the game. After looking back at the trailers I noticed that I was lied to. We saw videos of Joel and Ellie 4 years older only to find out that they were changed in the game as flash backs, and they did this to look like we were gonna play another adventure game with Joel and Ellie. Basically, we fans were tricked by Neil Drunkman, cause he knew if fans knew what was actually gonna happen in the game’s story narrative then no one would buy it.
Instead we got a game that has our favorite character killed off in the first 2 hours, and then play as Ellie for the next 12 hours. But Naughty Dog did something risky and did not realize that it was gonna ruin the game (somehow). You play as Joel’s killer for over 10-11 hours!
Neil Drunkman thought it was a good idea to play as Abby, the person that tortured and brutally killed the most beloved character in Naught dog history. Why?
I have never played a game just to watch my character die in multiple ways to feels satisfied. Abby makes me never want to finish this game ever again. She had a very good reason to kill Joel, we all know that Joel has done horrible things and knew one day it was gonna kill him one day. But we care about Joel just like Ellie.
Like Ellie we love and care about Joel and watching Abby kill him makes me sick, and like Ellie I can’t forgive Abby, I can understand, but I can never forgive. No matter how many times we watch Abby save people, or show how well liked she is by others in her community, she still killed someone we loved and she will always be hated for that. You can give me the best graphics in video game history, you can give me gameplay mechanics that are performed perfectly, but none of that matters when you give a story that I never want to finish ever again. We fans were lied to, and I don’t know about other Naughty Dog fans, but I have lost all trust in this company, they got my money for the last time. I will no longer support a company that lies to fans with false gameplay advertised throughout the past 2 years.
Don’t give these lying **** any more money. They need to understand that they **** up and need to get their **** straight, and never have Neil Drunkman write or direct another game. There’s lot of other things (story wise) I can complain about but Abby is the #1 thing wrong with this game.

It has some good aspects and some bad ones. The graphics are amazing, the gameplay is good for the most part, and there are really nice parts of the story. The main flaw is making the user play as Abby for ten+ hours. She never grows as a character, never shows any remorse for her actions. Joel was an antihero who did bad things, but still had a heart. Abby is just a straight up villain and psychopath. That said, I do think it's worth playing and has some really cool moments, but all in all is not a masterpiece. Expand

The game is absolutely beautiful, graphics are out of this world. I loved all the new characters and it hit through out the game, you'll see. The character development? great. The storyline? Great. The gameplay? Incredible. The movement, the feel, the combat, the enemies. Naughty Dog really brought it home with this one. New mechanics and play style that made the game feel new, but still in the same range of the old game. Expand

The same characters from the first game, which were previously so well realized and developed, are written and thrown away so poorly here that it is an absolute slap in the face to the most hardcore fans. The graphics and gameplay, while certainly competent and at times truly breathtaking are mostly undermined by just how incompetent the story is presented and told. The game truly became an endurance test of annoyance to play through, as I was forced to continue through scenarios which I quickly lost interest in, and didn't care about said characters the game was trying so desperately hard to get me to sympathize with.

I was originally debating on giving this game a balanced score of a 5 but the ridiculous self indulgent, supposedly profound ending the writers have decided to incorporate here, falls flat on it's face and sealed my final score to a 4.

On a slight side note - Marketing for this game has completely mislead and flat out lied to people and it is absolutely baffling to me that major video game reporting outlets (that have given this game a masterpiece rating) have refused to even point that out, when they have done so with other games they themselves have reviewed. Trailers were deliberately altered to give the illusion that characters play a larger role than they actually do. A major character was purposefully hidden for...whatever reason. Writers came forward and stated that you wouldn't be forced to kill dogs, (this could be only a minor spoiler) this was completely untrue! And finally, certain characters were made to look older when in reality, in the final product they were actually younger as it was taken from the perspective of flashbacks. Ridiculous! Manipulative and shady marketing at it's absolute peak!

Do not buy this game if you were a huge fan of the first. These developers do not deserve your money if this is the level of storytelling they had to show after 7 years of waiting! A sequel never should have happened! I wish I had never played it! I'm heartbroken. I keep expecting to wake up and this game to be a bad dream, but it isn't and now I don't want to speak of it ever again!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Story Is Written Badly:
    1. Ellie, Joel & Abby: All of the flashbacks between Joel & Ellie should've been played out in the beginning of the game, as events that simply follow TLOU 1 and happen in real time. Abby's flashback with Marlene & her Dad's death should have been the nightmare she was having before she wakes up when we first meet her. This would have helped the audience understand Abby better. She also should have been made more objectively likeable. She should have shown more remorse after killing Joel and other characters in the game, she should have been more sympathetic & understanding to her friends. We should get to know Abby and play as her during the same time Joel and Ellie are still alive and we're playing as them, with the same amount of gameplay for each narrative. We could cut between the two storylines in gameplay from both Ellie and Abby's adolescence to adulthood in real time.
    2. Joel's actions in TLOU 2 are antithetical to his character and don't make sense. Tommy telling them where they were from was just dumb. To solve this, they shouldn't have said anything about where they really came from and instead, Abby could have overheard Tommy saying Joel's name while in conversation, that way she could signal to her crew or say, "that's him." This would change the way the crew is acting and add to the tension, causing Joel & Tommy to be suspicious. 3: Joel's Death Scene: The next problem is the way Abby kills Joel. This scene should occur, way later in the game, with the story being built to this moment, probably widway through the story. Abbys crew should be smaller, just Abby, Owen, Mel, & Manny, who face Joel, Tommy, Ellie & Dina, all relatively in the same scene. Having her kill him by beating him to death after he saves her life does not help her case. There should have been a lot more hesitation from her to kill him (personally, I feel like he should have died protecting Ellie). In my mind, Joel should have blurted out, "I just saved your life", which would make her hesitate with the golf club in the air, Ellie pops in and shoots Abby in her hand, dropping the club. Abby pulls her gun out about to shoot Ellie when Joel manages to get in the way of her shot, saving Ellie, but now dieing. Abby is shook by her actions as she sees Ellie crying over Joel's body, holding him the exact same way that Joel held his dieing daughter Sarah in the first game. Abby, still in shock, books it with her crew before Dina catches up, finding Ellie with Joel in her arms. In this version, Ellie and Joel get to share some last words and Ellie will feel the life slowly slip away from Joel, but there will be enough life left for him to sing a little of the song Future Days while Ellie sings along. With a soft smile, Joel slips away. He just gave his life for her, and its in this moment she fully realizes why he saved her life all those years ago!
    4. New, somewhat established characters are killed off too quickly. For example Jesse is never mentioned again after he dies abruptly. Its like he never existed in the story to begin with. Instead, when Abby shoots him, it should be somewhere not immediately lethal, and Ellie should acknowledge this by kneeling down and trying to stop the bleeding, Jesse is suffering meanwhile. Abby angrilly tells her to get up, Ellie says, "hes gonna die, we need to get him help." Abby says, voice choking in emotion, "where was the help when you shot my friends dead, huh?" getting closer to Ellie. "Mel was pregnant!" Now the gun is near Ellie's head. Jesse bleeds out, not able to speak and is now dead. Ellie closes his eyes, shaken by what's just happen and slowly stands up. She says to Abby, solemnly, "Listen, I know why you killed Joel, I get it. But this needs to end, now. No more blood shed." Abby can reply, "You should have thought of that when I gave you two the chance to live, but instead you waisted it by coming back. And now, two more people I love very much, are dead," she starts to cry. The events that come after that can play out in a similar way they do in the game.
    5. Abby's Look makes no sense: Her head did not match her manbody. She has a feminine face and a very masculine, male body. She looks more realistic at the very end of the game than anywhere else. She has a built body, but more naturally framed to what a built woman would look like, and she has a haircut that fits her better than the braid. She should have looked like this the entire game, it was sorta badass. Her character look needed to fit who she was, which was a straight woman. Her sex scene should have shown this somehow, there sould have been more "love" in this love scene. Instead, because of her body, it is off putting.
6.The trailers should have been more honest. People should have not been decieved, thinking that cetain scenes in the trailers will happen in the game, but instead they happen as flashbacks when he is younger, or with other characters.

I think younger generations are going to have a difficult time coping with the plot of TLOU2; the plot is convoluted and nonlinear, pulling at emotional chords that are simultaneously gut-wrenching and confusing. There is a complete absence of a “feel good” conclusion; one could argue that there is no resolution of the primary conflict, at all. All of this is very unorthodox compared to typical fiction storytelling, and that is going to be distasteful — or even completely unacceptable — for a big percentage of this game’s potential consumers.

If your primary reason for gaming is the narrative, then unless you have a very open mind, you’re unlikely to enjoy TLOU2. That’s a shame only because the rest of TLOU2 is fantastic.

It is a technical masterpiece with incredible detail incorporated into all of the environments and encounters. The graphical design and execution is nearly flawless throughout. The physics feel tight and genuine — but not too unforgiving — in melee, ranged, and stealth combat. The lighting is a technical marvel, the sound effects are pristine, and the voice acting is top notch.

In addition, there are vast number of accessibility, custom controller mapping, and gameplay options; they’re all surprisingly easy to adjust and use. These options have a wide variety of effects on lighting, color, UI, subtitles, and much more — far beyond anything I’ve seen from previous AAA games on PS4. These things enhance the game in a multitude of ways that most gamers won’t utilize, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t worth noting or praising.

In summary, this is a game with exquisite technical qualities and functionality that honestly deserves high praise despite its flaws in storytelling. If this story was a novel, it would not be a good book. However, as a video game, it’s great. Don’t buy it if you’re not willing to deal with a twisted, sometimes illogical plot. Otherwise, I think you’ll regret not playing TLOU2 at some point this year.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This technical aspects of this game are comparable to the first game. Gameplay mechanics are pretty much the same as the first game. The graphics and voice acting are also good. The story in my opinion are what ruin this game for me. I expected for Joel to die, but this was not the way to kill him off. Then right after you HAVE to play as Abby, for like more than half the game. I HATED playing as Abby, i did not connect with her in any way or feel anything for that character. They should of fleshed her out more before she killed Joel off. To be forced to play as a person you despise is not fun in my opinion....it felt like a chore doing her story. The game forces you to kill a dog and then makes the effort to make you feel like crap about it when you had no choice in the matter. I encountered weird bug in the section where you have to kill the dog, i fell from vent, dog attacks but before he attacks i get shot in head by an invisible person and it was an endless death loop of me getting shot. Replayed chapter and got through dog part to realize there were no other people around in the area....so who shot me??? Ellie goes through all this revenge story killing tons of people and the end she lets Abby go, after tracking her down a second time? Just doesn't make sense. If you are trying to convey that revenge causes more problems than its worth there are better ways of conveying that. Ending was unsatisfying and overall when i was done playing the game i felt as depressed as Ellie did as the game came to a close. I would say this is a pass until it becomes cheaper. Expand

This game is beautiful, the gameplay is fun the soundtrack and performances by everyone is great where it suffers is this is a video game, not a tv show or a movie it’s suppose to be your choices the way you play should matter and it doesn’t this is a tv show is scripted video gameplay in between your forced to kill dogs, your forced to play as Abby a character who isn’t badly developed she has a good emotional start but the game beats you over the head with informing you that Ellie is the villain and not Abby.. but Abby killed Joel and she gets more spotlight and focus on top of that while playing as her the game forces you to play fetch with a dog that your forced to killed as Ellie just one example of how this game tries to Manipulate manipulate your feelings towards Ellie and it doesn’t work. This game was so disappointing to the point I don’t think I’ll ever play it again the last of us I’ve beaten 100 times part 2 I don’t even wanna play the new game plus I already uninstalled it and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth I only scratched the surface of what I didn’t like to make a quick rundown They kill Joel off in a unearned shock value death They rewrote marlines character from the first game
Dina is not developed enough to believe her and Ellie’s relationship
Abby gets more focus than Ellie The story falls apart after you take over Abby thanks to forced moments
And more You want my advice I mean that’s why your reading this.. pick the game up for $20 have fun with the gameplay graphics and flashback including Abby’s but after that try and avoid and or forget the rest of the story because it is a dumpster fire of disappointment after 7 years this game broke my heart

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The story and writing is amazing. What makes it great is the step away from cookie cutter stories of typical games/shows/movies. Anyone can die and the moral conflicts will have you wondering if you're the hero and if you'll get your revenge. If you must be the hero who get theirs way then this game may not be for you and any other fair-weather gamers. Excellent story telling and character development. Expansive environment is overwhelming to explore at times and enemy AI is a little lackluster.

No gamer enjoys having the character you play as swapped unknowingly mid game. I was so upset I stopped and waited until I got some sleep. The emotional toll is so real I didn't want to play as the person I should be killing. While my view of the character didn't change from seeing her story, its all a vicious cycle and Joel didn't NEED to kill everyone at the hospital, I began to take joy in knowing everything she had was being taken from her while you play from her perspective. The saddest part was losing Owen, who seemed to struggle more realistically with being a good friend and wanting to leave Joel in the past. His character would of done well in a longer story. The ending for me was great and satisfied. It was not about Ellie getting revenge but getting right with herself. The struggle between wanting to have died for a cure and accepting the love of Joel for saving her was a real balance Ellie needed to find. She felt bad for having telling him He should have let her die and felt obligated to avenge his death. If you don't like the story then go read some books. Not every games story you play should have the exact same story arc outline and meet your character expectations.

Yes the game has some mistakes such as playing as Abby, to me playing as Abby is actually the only mistake that I think they did but i know that most people are angry at Joel’s death and they wanted Naughty Dog to do right by him, but his death makes total sense and here’s why: Joel killed so many people in his life including people that he knew and yet after all the bad things that he did there has to be some consequences and even if he died peacefully just like how Lee from the walking dead it would still make Ellie mad but she won’t be as mad as if they brutally killed him and by that she would seek revenge whatsoever, as for the ending people are mad because Ellie didn’t kill Abby first of all how would do that do any good to Ellie? She has to break the cycle! if she just killed Abby then eventually few years later Lev would revenge Abby’s death and would kill Ellie all that is gonna keep going over and over with no point it’s literally an endless cycle so Ellie had to break it. But I just want to clear out something and that is that they could have given us a better story and i agree with that but we gotta work with what we’ve got and what we’ve got is good and makes total Sense but people are too afraid to admit it.

By far the absolute worst story writing I've ever seen. The ending is hollow, and a waste of time.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Made us wait 7 years for the game, just to kill off the beloved main character an hour and a half into it. Same gameplay mechanics as the first game, boring repetitive story, sucks that they make us play as Abby for half the game. For someone who has played the first game dozens of times, I’m extremely disappointed and I think I speak for the whole Last Of Us community when I say that Expand

and from the uncharted saga I feel very hurt for how the new release bash everything .naughty dog they have no respect to the fanbase, to the youtubers who gave their humble opinion.that they have all the right for the freedom of speech. which they demonized blocked and abused their DMCA power as a company.but above all to the characters that are not themselves are an empty shell of their previous.
how to continue a sequel when you didn't need the last of us 2 .is a simple revange game that is graphically spectacular but its empty shell. The good

    photo realistic models of characters

the diversity and density of the scenery The levels of detailed as we will remember in uncharted 4
the light . the water . the sky boxes the bad

    the massive plot holes
The extremely brutality violence Neil Druckmann's wet dream
male to male / female face intercourse

the nonsense ending that in the entire campaign you are waiting for at last to get revenge and you do not do it despite the fact that he slaughters joel with a golf club. shoots tommy in the head and leaves him crippled forever .he breaks both elies arms he or she beats the **** out of dinas without any remorse and almost cuts his throat off .bite elie's fingers off and the end ist no problem goodbye. lets him escape that's the end all for nothing

Remember the talks with elie when we met the giraffes when we were hanging upside down and our little girl saved our lives on more than one occasion
when she takes care of us he like joel loses a daughter but he finds and adopts elie the beautiful ending and the unexpected twist that's why the last of ous 1 was incredible a masterpiece not because elie was gay Because the incredibly realistic and well flesh out characters that seemed human an incredible story telling

Story isn’t compelling for most of the time. Bad decisions were made by all protagonists. Gameplay meh, very similar to the first part not really new mechanics that get you excited and deepens out anything in the game. Graphics are pretty good but it’s still PlayStation 30fps so that could never be a 10 out of 10. For instance HZD looks more asthonising (graphically) than this game.

I can't understand the hatred and bad criticism of the game.

The game is a masterpiece. You can put yourself in the different characters very well. Many criticize that some characters from the first part no longer act as usual, PEOPLE it has been almost 5 years between part 1 and part 2. Of course, characters can change during this period, I mean Elli and Co are not Peter Pan who does

Many criticize that some characters from the first part no longer act as usual, PEOPLE it has been almost 5 years between part 1 and part 2. Of course, characters can change during this period, I mean Elli and Co are not Peter Pan who does not want to grow up.
A few flashbacks logically convey these developments to the player.

There is no need to say anything about the graphics and sound, as in the first part it was great.

The story also has a nice length where there are some quiet passages from time to time, but I used these sections to look at the surroundings.

The story telling is also very successful, you can put yourself in the characters and feel the same as what the game wants to say: HATE & REVENGE!
In between and at the end you don't really know who the good and who are the bad, which I think is awesome because everyone should decide for themselves. Since you play both parties and you can get to know each other well, this is usually difficult to assess.

In my opinion, the few who rate the game without having played it through are just followers who follow the criticism hype. One should not compare this part directly with the first part, because it is simply a different story. If I still had to compare the two parts, I would say that both are equally good in their own way.

It was a nice journey into the unknown, thank you Naughty Dog.
I hope so much that a third part will appear, since Naughty Dog as well as in the first and in the second part did everything right.

I have only two negative points of criticism:
    1. No multiplayer
    2. I find the list of trophies a little too easy. Unfortunately there is no trophy that requires you to play through the game on survivor difficult, I think that's a shame.

But otherwise my Game of the year !!!

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
