Characters don't act like they should an they feel off.. The ending is stupid and contradicts the whole revenge plot and it leaves you feeling depressed and being liek wtf.
The story is pure trash and it's pathetic. idk who though this story would be a good idea.
Another catastrophe has been added to 2020 just oof. Graphics are neat and gameplay is nice but that means jakc **** if the story is pure trash.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Opinion about this game is very controversial. In fact, she is excellent. It can be seen that people really tried to make the game perfect, they love this game, in 25 hours I had 1 bug. She is infinitely beautiful. But the plot.
Joel’s death is very controversial, because the game is about the connection of two heroes, about how they pass through the world of apocalypse. And at first I thought that Joel was replaced by Dina, but she is not the main character, unlike Abby. Here the situation is directly heating up, because even with Abby's unbelievably cool background, she should not be the one for whom we should beat Ellie. At this moment, I was simply waiting for an end without emotion, which was drawn out indefinitely. Unnecessary storyline with Leo and Yara. People were waiting for a game about Joel and Ellie, and not about soldiers and freaks. When Abby came to Ellie, I thought it was the end of the game. But the game did not end very long. Just a lack of understanding of the reason why I saw what was happening was throughout the rest of the gameplay. But even if you do not focus on the storyline of Abby (he is not bad, but the game is not about that), then beating Ally is the peak of trash. Then stupid mercy. Then already a nasty family life, after that everything. AND THIS IS NOT THE END. You go to kill Abby, and you **** do it so stupidly, and most importantly not to the end, this release, this useless fight, it was so unpleasant to look at all this.
It is very difficult to describe in text the opinion of such a game when you have infinite love for the heroes of this game, its plot, which even in the second part was sometimes amazing, is not rare. But how the game led to the ending, and what it was, cannot be perceived .
And I, of course, understand that non-traditional orientation is not critical. Yes, even game characters can have this kind of problem. But LGBT propaganda is not the most pleasant thing for the community.
My rating is 4, because it is really a great game, and although terrible, but the absolute end of the game for most. And an objective assessment, better than a meaningless hat, for those who have made an unlimited contribution to its creation.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us 2 has one of the most disappointing stories from a Triple A game I have ever seen, that ultimately ends on a sour note, with the entire journey being pointless. The entire basis is its a revenge story. The main character Ellie journeys hundreds of miles, murders countless people, gets people she cares about hurt and killed all so she can kill one particular person, and when she finally get the chance at the end, she changes her mind and lets her go, wasting time, effort, and resources.

There are many characters, few of which are likable, contrasting the amazing mix of personalities in the first. Your main partner Dina is incredibly annoying, with her only notable trait being her constant inappropriate flirting with Ellie. Stand out characters include Lev, Yara, Owen, and Abby.

The writing is mainly focused of the characters relationships with eachother and there is little focus on the Infected or Apocalypse. There are multiple unnecessary sexual scenes that are legitimately painful to sit through.

The gameplay is largely the same as the first, with some basic improvements in exploration and combat, such as larger play areas with more verticality, new moves such as a dodge and the ability to go prone. The graphics are fantastic (albeit diminished by the intense film grain) as well as the sound design and voice acting. The game is locked at 30FPS with a Film Grain that cannot be disabled. There is also by far the largest amount of settings I have ever seen in a game making it as accessible as possible for everyone. There are significantly less environmental puzzles and cinematic moments than the original and there's much greater emphasis on combat and scavenging supplies.

The game will shift between playing as Ellie and playing as Abby, which have completely different equipment and weapons. The story will often shift time periods like a Tarantino movie which is detrimental to the plots pacing.

Overall The Last of Us 2 is not exactly "Bad", but after 7 years it is definitely a below-average disappointment and I have no desire to play it again.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. On the technical aspect the game was good as the great standard of Naughty.
the story and gameplay instead was extremely redundant, and tedious, also clunky.
Basically you go from open spaces fighting humans, you get forced by same pattern (falling floor, blocked path, fighting scene) to get indoor in dark close spooky place where you fight infected. and this repeat over and over again till the end.
the game totally lacks of character. everything is based on revenge. Cut scene are too long and kills the vibes of the game, the game overall is also too long. they force you play with abby half of the game to make you understand her point of view. but still the story struggle to keep you up.
Its clear that they lost the focu during the development, is basically an unfinished game with unclear identity and ideas.
the first one had the strong motivation till the end but this one is empty and cold.
missed opportunity for them to create a master piece.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Before we start, I would like to say that I am not a racist. And I don't have any hatred for LGBT people and I am, to some extent, tolerant. But in the game, there is just an incredible glut of tolerance. I didn't like the game. For at least half of the game, your girlfriend Dina (also terribly annoying) shows lesbian tendencies every twenty minutes and she makes a pass at you. This is incredibly infuriating. About the plot, too, everything is very so-so. Except for Joel's death, nothing really cool or exciting happened. The plot is based on revenge. You go, go, go to the final, then just get revenge. New characters, too, no, just uninteresting and all. Compared to what the characters were in the first part, these are not interesting. From the pros, only the graphics, atmosphere and cool semi-open world. The game is crap, for me personally. The first part is much better. As a stub in the form of the second part, received the same ratings as the first-a riddle. Maybe if the first part didn't exist, this part would be cool. But, when there is a masterpiece of the first part, it is, a stub for fans and a chic game for tolerant gays, lesbians. Expand

I can totally see what Naugthy Dog was going for with this one, they wanted the players to sympathize with the killer of Joel but unfortunately they completely failed here. Abby is a trash-tier character that nobody likes and no matter what nobody will ever sympathize with her. I get it that Joel is also an obsessive maniac but we understand why and what lead to that. We can sympathize with Joel even some of his realy horrible decisions and actions because it's a well developed character. Abby isn't. Abby is just **** horrible and she pretty much single handedly ruined the game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I am changing my review after thinking about this for a while. Originally I gave the game a 7/10...but upon reflection...the game is really problematic.

ND attempted to tell two stories in one game and really missed the mark on fully telling either. This game should have started off on Abby where we would hear her full story before swapping over to Ellie after Joel's death. Instead, we get to play as Ellie for half the game with no real information about Abby until the last half of the game. ND sold us an Ellie focused game, and then proceeded to make us play as Abby for 10 **** hours. I did a lot of exploring, but holy **** Abby's part was LONG. An hour or two of Abby would have told her story better than what was told in 10 hours. Editing is really important. The game tries to make Abby a character worth feeling something for, but I just wanted to get back to Ellie by the end of it. Getting back to Ellie wasn't even worth it at the end of Abby's story. Why? Because after you hear about Abby...umm...Ellie's story just stops. Legit, that's pretty much the end of the game. This whole concept of a revenge quest...and you barely get a quest for revenge. You get mostly Tommy killing people off screen and Ellie opening gates shooting the **** with Dina.

Now, let's talk about stuff that really just doesn't make sense or is completely gratuitous...I was pumped to play as Ellie and Abby. I was pumped they stuck with the lore of Ellie being gay. The relationship between Ellie and Dina is beautifully written...but...why the **** is Dina pregnant again? What does this add? All Dina being pregnant does is take your companion out of the game for hours, leaving you with no story or character development because you have no one to talk to. Dina being pregnant really feels like a cheap trick. It feels like they added it because Ellie killing Owen and Nora didn't have enough weight on its own. That scene was just being screamed at "DINA PREGNANT, NORA PREGNANT BAD ELLIE" You can do better than that.

Abby sex scene...what is the point of this? I totally get the scene between Ellie and Dina. It sets up Ellie for an innocence lost story line. More importantly, it was done tastefully. I am in no way a prude, but Abby's sex scene was the most gratuitous sex scene I have seen added to a game in a LONG **** time.

Lev...ugh Lev...What a disappointment. I am all for diversity in games. I was kind of excited that they were adding a non-binary character, because the storyline could have been ****in good. BUT...oof, it is hard to say...Lev is basically trans/non-binary...and that's the only thing compelling about the character. Diversity is good when it's done well, but when you make a character gay or trans and that is the ONLY thing present in their character, you end up harming more than you are helping.

The cult (scars)...The cult feels like ND was so afraid of offending people, they just decided to not develop any story line here. The game makes a choice to not be political, but ends up being both political and boring. I spent so much **** time looking for journal entries and notes in a desperate attempt to find a storyline. I can confirm now that one does not exist. Remember all that cool game footage of fighting scars? Yeah, that's legit all there is in the game. It's like one fight and then they are gone from Ellie's story. The scars are the focus of Abby's story...I searched for a story line there too. The story doesn't exist. You could actually just remove this group from the game and replace them with WLF and you wouldn't even feel a difference.

The ending...oof. I am ok with Ellie letting Abby go, but...why does Ellie need to lose two fingers? Why does Dina abandon Ellie? The ending really makes the story weaker as a whole, and also takes away any replay value of the game. "It can't all be for nothing" YES IT CAN. This is not an ending worthy of anything close to 10/10. The ending didn't stand up on its own due to failures in storytelling throughout the game. Ellie's loss of her fingers feels like something added as an afterthought to give it more weight than it actually has. The end didn't tie the whole "revenge is bad" thing together, so they just added another cheap trick. They basically shock jocked it. Wtf is with the Dina **** Dina is your ride or die for the entire **** game and when Ellie just wants closure, THAT is where she draws the line? Kill hundreds of people, almost die twice "yeah, bruh we good." Wants closure after years of PTSD "buh bye" WHAT?

This isn't a masterpiece. This is an unfinished game. Even the saving grace of this game -- the animations -- are unfinished. All that talk of animations...and your stealth kills ARE THE SAME EVERY TIME. It really feels unfinished. To create a game that is bleak is one thing, but to release an unfinished game that has no replay value...oof, I expected better.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I typically don't write reviews for anything but this game compelled me to do so. Let me preface this by saying I love Naughty Dog games. I loved the Uncharted series and the first Last of Us. Upon completion of this game, I was left with a very stale taste of my mouth. Major spoilers going forward.

First, the good. Graphics, gameplay, voice acting, landscapes, and designs. I enjoyed the combat and the game never felt too hard at all (I died in a couple of spots but nothing too bad). However, most people are playing this game because of the story and, let me tell you, that is where the whole thing falls off a cliff.

In the first two hours of the game, you are introduced to a character named Abby. You even play as her a little bit in the beginning. From the get-go you can tell something is off with her. Throughout the beginning, you come to realize that Abby and her friends are there to kill Joel. Joel and Tommy find Abby in trouble during a blizzard/zombie hoard and rescue her. When they get back to the house her friends are at, that's when things take a turn.

Ellie finds Joel and Tommy but then watches as Abby puts the finishing touches on Joel's face with a golf club. Now we have the building blocks of a revenge story (since Abby and her friends conveniently let Ellie and Tommy live). The first half of the game, I was super on board. Yeah let's go **** up Abby and her friends. Nobody ****s with my boy Joel and gets away with it. The first day in Seattle was great. You are traveling around with Dina (your girlfriend) in an almost open-world type feel where you are finding points of interest and finding extra loot.

You proceed to play three full days in Seattle with lots of drama and good mixtures of action between zombies and humans. Dina is pregnant (from her ex who you actually meet up with at one point) and you are trying to find Tommy who set out before you to get revenge for Joel. Eventually, you get to a point where Ellie kills two of Abby's friends (the only two people on that side worth giving a damn about) and leaves her map with their marked location next to their bodies.

Alright, first off... come on. This is Ellie we are talking about. Also Tommy and Jesse were there so none of them picked up the map? Fine, whatever. Abby finds you, kills Jesse (the ex) and is holding Ellie at gunpoint. Then the game completely changes for me and this is where I began to hate it.

The game then proceeds to take you all the way back to Seattle Day 1... but as Abby. You then get to play ALL THREE days in Seattle as Abby. So you spend half the game making me hate this person and then try and spend the other half of the game trying to get me to feel bad for them? **** that. The whole time I was playing as Abby I was telling myself "they can't seriously be making me play all three days as her, right?". They did. Abby even gets to face off against a giant infected that would have been way cooler to fight as Ellie. Honestly, I got Abby killed a lot on purpose just to make me feel better. She is scared of heights? I should throw her off this building just because. Should I watch her get her neck broken? Sure.

The worst though was after you get through all three days with Abby, you are now back at the theater holding Ellie at gunpoint and you literally have a boss fight AGAINST ELLIE. I let Ellie kill me at least 20 times hoping that the game would just say "The End" but no, they make you beat Ellie before you can proceed. I thought what game turns you into the villain and asks you to fight the main protagonist? Are you serious? Imagine you're playing a Zelda game and halfway through Nintendo decides to have you play as Ganondorf for the other half of the game.

Needless to say there is lots of death but every mainish character gets to somehow live. Look at it this way, when Abby is done with Ellie (I mean she really lays into her) we have a ridiculous situation. Ellie is weak and beaten up, Jesse is dead, Dina is knocked out, pregnant and shot through the shoulder with an arrow, and Tommy is shot in the head and leg bleeding out in the lobby but the game shoots forward at least a year or so to Ellie and Dina living in a farmhouse. How the hell did Ellie get back to town with Tommy near death and Dina injured while also being injured herself?

Eventually, you get to the end and you don't even kill Abby. You see Joel in a flashback as you're about to kill her and let Abby live. You go through the entire game wanting to kill Abby and you don't even get to complete the revenge. In fact, you actually free her from her death and give her a new lease on life. Then Ellie goes back to the farmhouse, fingerless and unable to play the guitar and everyone she ever loved is either dead or left (Dina and the baby).

I get that the world is **** and not everything is flowers and rainbows but holy **** Ellie deserved so much better. **** Abby.

I can't believe they treated Joel like that just for the shock value... another case of a franchise dying just because it has to be ruined by bad storytelling.

This game is like the Star Wars-prequels or sequels and Harry Potter tweets by JK Rowling levels of a disappointment for TLOU fans. The game-makers had no grasp on the emotional attachment of the players. You can grow empathy for anyone, doesn’t mean you want to or have to. Forced relationship between Ellie and Dina in the beginning, they could have gone slowly to create affection for the characters, to win over the fans (it was done like this in 1).
What I ask myself is: does the world of games, cinema and others think that everyone is homosexual?

Devs did something artistic and surprising, but in same time they hurted the feels of the fanbase, but maybe this was exactly their objective.

They introduced a new character, Abby, but even the player are forced to play her and saw the story from her side, its hard to feel something, she doesnt give any emotion, just hate or empty feels...something doesnt worked on this character....

7 years ago i said that TLOU doesnt need an sequel, at least making an completely new characters and new storyline was a solution, but they wanted to "push" the story in different way...

Cant ignore the fact that this videogame is very creative, but as a "sequel", its hard to recommend to the fanbase, its not a game that everyone can accept so easily, it divide the users and its understandable.

Accept or not this story as "sequel" depend from the users, for me the first TLOU is unique and doesnt need an "sequel".

Graphics, audio are top notch however after the honeymoon phase wears off the games cracks start to show. After 15 hours with Ellie the games story quickly loses all interest with unrelatable characters and incredibly slow pacing in the last half of the game. I found myself wondering why I was playing this game and why do I have to play with characters I have absolutely no interest in. Once the game jumps back to Ellie it somehow manages to get even worse with ridiculous story plots that make no sense. The ending made me feel angry and like I had just wasted my time and money. Other then the story the controls can be incredibly frustrating at times when you need to dodge and the jump button is an embarrassment considering this is the studio that brought us uncharted. The combat was fun and was almost always enjoyable and the graphics are truly the best of the generation. Ultimately the game is an embarrassment to the first game and makes me question the legitimacy of critic reviewers giving this game a 10. Expand

The Last of Us Part II is a stunning game graphically. Only games such as RDR2 compare to the beauty of this game. It looks great with a PS4 Pro on a 4KTV.

There’s no hack and slash or cheap feel to any of the game mechanics. They did a wonderful job here. Plus there’s a lot of depth in each part of the game world.

Here’s why I gave the game a 4/10, the story. I’m going to keep this short not to spoil anything hopefully, but I will say this. The story will leave you completely unsatisfied. Imagine the feeling of not being able to scratch a terrible itch, to never feel that satisfaction, that is how this game’s story leaves you. It honestly makes you feel like you wasted your time and money as you forcefully dragged yourself through certain difficult story elements in hope that something would be good.

There are obvious themes the game wants to carry. Revenge is never going to fix things is probably the best way I can sum it up. Also “a there are 2 sides to every story” could be a theme in this game as well. I applaud Naughty Dog for what they tried to do, but the way they implemented these story elements makes you feel so unsatisfied at the end of the game.

I’m a lifelong fan of Naughty Dog games, and I wish I could be writing you a review right now telling you how great of a game this is.

The visuals and soundtrack are amazing like you can expect from a naughty dog game. However this is the most uninteresting story ever released from them.

Unfortunately, the pacing of this game is horrible and poorly written. The gameplay seems dated. It has some light improvements but it still play like the original. Don't expect anything mind breaking. You can now lay down in the grass

I can't say I enjoyed my experience with this game it tries to hard from start to finish to make you feel guilty and depressed. I understand it's a revenge story but it misses the point what made the first game so great. The first had it's up and down moments, this sequel doesn't. It's a real shame, expected more from this sequel. It's poorly written.

about 10 hours into the game, I think I have a fair idea how to rate the game. The graphics and animations are excellent. The motion capture and performance, great. The gameplay however, is quite repetitive and not really different from TLOU part 1. The jump button is over-hyped.

Back to the story. The story is mehhh. typical revenge story with an ending that will make you go WTF? Character development is weird.. And they became all so dumb and stupid in part 2. Why is Joel making bad decisions when he is a seasoned survivor?

Basically, if you asked me, "Do you enjoy playing this game?" The answer is, not really.. It's brutal, repetitive and the story does not make me feel good. So how am I going to "enjoy" this game? Compared to FF7 Remake which gave me laughs, nostalgia, emotional moments and great combat, I enjoyed FF7 WAY WAY more. That game gave me a good time and TLOU2 didn't.

Definitely not 10/10 like what the critic reviews are saying. Wanted to give it a 5 but the thought of how they killed off one of the characters pissed me the hell off, and it drops to 4

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Well, while the game has an incredible graphics and improved the first game in gameplay, something that already seemed difficult because the first game is a masterpiece, I was terribly disappointed by some creative decisions, such as the fact that in the preview videos of the game in previous years, it could be seen that Joel was alive during the story, as in the scene where he prevents Ellie from being discovered by the Wolves, a scene that they later replaced with Jesse, in addition to the first preview showing that Joel He accompanies Ellie in her revenge when she is playing the guitar and says "I am going to find and kill every last one of them", so in my personal opinion, they sold me a story and the one I bought was a totally different one, in addition to I do not know a living person who, in his right mind, when his father or father figure is killed in this case, kills everyone and lets the murderer live. I loved the story, I liked the inclusion of Abby, but the fact of killing Joel, made him play every minute with a feeling of frustration. We are waiting for this game for many years, we are going through a pandemic at this time, in which this game would have made a difference, by making the lives of many happy this year, that we are having a really bad time and that we save money for this game, money that could be spent on more important things. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I’m going to keep this short and simple. The gameplay, graphics and level design are great. The story, however, is pure drivel. Killing off Joel was a bold move, I’ll give the writers that. The death needed to be earned, but the writers failed at this epically. Playing the first half of the Ellie arc was decent storytelling and progression. A revenge tail that I was invested in. The second half of the game was a slog. I hated Abby and every character in the second half was contrived and boring. I didn’t care about a single one of them. The only joy I got was when Abby would die (sometimes I would just let it happen). The ending is one of the worst in video game history. Ellie murders hundreds of people and a dog you are forced to kill, but doesn’t kill Abby at the end...GTFO! Leaves her girlfriend (the only part of the story i liked was their relationship) and baby to get one final chance at revenge. Goes through hell again only to free Abby, immediately try to kill her and then almost as quick let her go. I’ve seen failed tv pilots with more story arc and a satisfy finish then this poorly written garbage. Naughty Dog should have hired real writers (movie script, novels) to finish this game. Anybody who tells you this story is more then drivel is simple in the brain period. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

Tragic story telling (not even a 1 out of 10 compared to the original) killing the main (and most likeable) character in such a bizarre fashion so early on and replacing him and all the other great characters from the original with these unlikable bores is just tragic. I believe the truth about this game lies in the middle ground between paid critics and the user score. First of all, this game is an absolute gem and state-of-the-art in terms of technology. There is absolutely no way that, even if you hated the story, this game is a 0/10 or something of the likes. At the same time there is no way you could give this game more than 8/10 on a basis of game-design.

The gameplay is almost identical to the first part and it can hardly be called an "action game" let alone video game. The first part got away with it, because the story is simply so brilliant and captivating. TLOU2, however, exposes the weaknesses this series always had, due to its poor storyline.

The drastic changes from the first part seem not only out of proportion, but also unrealistic. Luxuries like transgenderism would never exist in an apocalypse setting. Apart from being focused on biological survival of the humans, there isnt even a society to define traditional gender roles. This is basically an analogy for the entire game, the occurences feel forced and unnatural. Every decision of the protagonists makes you hate them more. There is nothing wrong with transgenderism and homosexuality, but its like creating a sports game with only fat athletes. It just doesnt check out.

Furthermore, throwing extreme brutality with no underlying meaning or message at the player didnt help either. I imagine the goal was to provoke a sophisticated reaction from the players, but it feels more like a trashy splatter movie than an artistic shocking message.

Overall this game feels more like a statement. Its easily the most boring AAA game I have ever played. The points that kept me playing were the beautiful design & music (in most parts very atmospheric), the hope for a genius story twist and simple nostalgia for the first part.

I think the game may appeal to a niche audience and it does have its moments, but personally I wish I hadnt wasted my time with it.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I’m going to address several aspects of the game to include story with spoilers.
Gameplay is relatively unchanged; you can jump and dodge now. The weapons are mostly the same but have some differences. You still have that annoying weapon sway, as though you’ve been on a two day bender where drinks were free and your liver is on it’s last legs. Honestly, I get that Ellie isn’t a Black Ops warrior but I’m pretty sure she can hold a 9mm steady for 5 seconds and get a head shot in. FFS. You get several companions and they still get in your way on occasion, just like the first game. They stand in doorways, get in your cover when your trying to keep from being seen, even keep you from running away when you’re being chased.
Bugs, honestly didn’t think this would happen. I fell through the world. Twice. Lots of light coming through cracks in walls, floors, everywhere. Constantly had to press Triangle to interact with objects to loot or open doors, drawers, etc.. Graphics glitch had a waterfall looking like a great big golden lego at one point until I got closer to it when it finally resolved. I play on PS4 Pro BTW with 1080p TV, TYVM.
You play as Ellie and a new character Abby, the daughter of the Doctor we killed in the first game.
His death is at the heart of this whole mess, so let’s stop for a moment. Apparently, we learn that he was the only surgeon/scientist left that could have developed a cure. Where was he going to do his research? With what equipment or technology? The year is 2033 and the world has gone to **** there’s no electricity, buildings are falling down, equipment is broken or inaccessible. The people and facilities to create a vaccine for a complicated disease on any scale are just not there anymore, so why are the Fireflies so quick to end this girl’s life? When life is so precious, when people are gunned down in the street for their shoes, why wouldn’t they even tell her before the surgery? They didn’t give her choice, and they didn’t give the player a choice. We’re just told the Fireflies can and will create a vaccine. They didn’t ask the important questions, like hey what are the alternatives? Can we wait to kill this little girl? Should we kill the ONLY immune person on the planet? What if we can’t produce a cure after we kill her? There are some serious questions with some serious repercussions. I think Naughty Dog was a naughty dog when it came to this plot point.
OK, so I played on easy because I came for the story. Abby recruited her friends and traveled from Seattle to Colorado to torture and execute Joel for the murder of her father, in the middle of winter. No trial, no justice, no debate. Ellie, finds them in the middle of this act (beating Joel’s head in with a golf club) and is left unconscious along with Tommy, Joel’s brother. Tommy goes after them, Ellie goes after Tommy with a couple of friends in tow. You also play as Abby for at least half of the Game and you are shown flashbacks of both girls as they interact with their fathers, (Joel is Ellie’s dad for all intents and purposes) and friends. You’re expected to see the parallels and I assume find some sympathy as you humanize Abby and understand her perspective. Unfortunately for me the relationships felt forced and contrived in order to pander to certain audiences. I liked Owen and Manny, I felt sorry when they died. But really, the best parts were the Ellie and Joel moments and even then, nothing compared to the first game.
I disliked Abby and I hated playing her. I spent every encounter trying hurry my through, thinking that it would get back to playing Ellie that much quicker. Abby was brooding and overall, just unlikeable. She talks about the death of Danny, a fellow WLF, and how she was glad he was dead and just wishes she had killed him. Even her weapons make it difficult to want to play her.
The infected have added new types to their ranks and it’s not really fun anymore. Stalkers can’t be “seen” with your x-ray vision and they hide, like you do. There’s a new version of bloater that explodes with acidic gas and can chase you. Some areas are so full of enemy soldiers there seems like no end to them and no possible way to sneak past them or even get to the next area without killing them all. The only redeeming feature, on easy, is that the AI is dumb and can’t see you very easily.
The game drags on after a while and while playing Abby, I just wanted to end it. I had watched Joel die. I was waiting for the confrontation between Ellie and Abby, but it just seemed never-ending. The whole thing just makes me sad, in so many ways. Change is difficult to accept and I have to wonder how people will take the death of someone they came to not only care for, but the injustice of his death. How will they accept being forced to play as the bringer of that death and injustice?

The Gameplay is okay and the Graphics are great, but the story is very very bad. This has no respect for the characters from the first Game, stupid decisions, unlikeable characters, plot holes, overall poor writing, SJW agendas, unnecessarily much violence and a very bad ending. Don't buy this Game, if you're a fan from the first one, for me this is just non canon.

Beautiful graphics that really pushed the boundaries of the gen, engaging characters who I grew to love and an amazing story with the perfect end. So when I heard they were making Part 2 I was nervous where they’d take these characters... While this game is very beautiful the gameplay doesn’t feel much different from the first game, which isn’t a bad thing but it does become very repetitive and gets quite boring when you’re exploring these needlessly big areas full of loot. The gunplay is still quite janky and the stealth kills very quickly become a rinse and repeat process. The main problem with this game is the absolute butchery and bastardisation of the characters and story we have come to love. Within the first 2 hours we see the beloved Joel beaten to death by Abby while Ellie watches sending her on a rage fuelled revenge mission. Not only does Joel and Tommy save Abby when they randomly stumble across her in a blizzard, they disregard all the things they learnt from the first game when they trustingly wander into an unknown camp and introduce themselves. It’s a hard first few hours and if you manage to get past the sudden betrayal of Joel you’d think the worst is over, but it is far from over... The game sends you as Ellie on this revenge mission to kill Abby and her followers and you spend the next few hours exploring and cutting people down left and right, before you’re forced to play as Abby for what seems like far too long, in hope that you’ll understand and reason with her of why this random npc caved Joel’s skull in. The end is where you truly lose all hope for this game. Ellie has lost friends and killed hundreds on her hunt for Abby, as she finally fights her and loses a few fingers in the process she has a flashback of Joel and now decides revenge is bad... letting Abby go. I mean seriously?! What? It seems that this really all was for nothing. Ellie returns home, a couple of fingers down and short a good few friends and lover and you sit and think what the hell have I accomplished over the last 25 hours? It wouldn’t surprise me if in part 3, Abby digs up Joel’s corpse and **** him before giving the finger to the camera and dabbing. Do yourselves a favour, don’t play this betrayal. We deserved better.

Below my expectations, an advance in the gameplay has been noticed as well as a broader scenario for the player to exploit their creativity when following a more stealthy style of play or go to direct confrontation.
For a game to have a positive assessment of the community it must have pillars, the problem of The last of us 2 was that it failed with its story This revenge plot was caused by the forced decision to kill an NPC, which appears at the end of the first installment. The protagonist of the first installment died, at the hands of the "daughter" of the NPC, in a ridiculous way in the early part of the game making it clear that the story was going to take place around Ellie and her Unbridled revenge of death, leaving traces of blood everywhere until from one moment to the next, on the verge of realizing it, he repents and lets the alleged antagonist go in peace.
A loose script was witnessed accompanied by a flimsy plot that does not fit into the post-apocalyptic environment - 4/10

Regrettably none of that is present in the second game, the characters that built the franchise are unceremoniously flushed down the toilet while utterly unlikable and forgettable characters take the spotlight. This is all capped off by the game director's thinly veiled self insert first spitting on the protagonist of the first game, and later engaging in some frankly disturbing sex scene in the back of a van. I urge anyone considering buying this game to reconsider or at the very least wait for a steep sale. it's very clear the "professional critics" have once again been slipped cash or something to that effect under the table. This isn't the Last of Us, this is some imposter wearing it's skin like a mask.

The Last of Us 2 tries so hard to fit into its part one shoes that it lost the tone which made it so great. Some things are great like the graphics and motion capture are almost perfect. The linear lvl design is almost all the time great and the melee combat feels real. But there are things which are truly not good from a players standpoint. The standard AI feels sometimes more dumb than the first one, yes I know you can rank the difficulty up, but that only helps to a certain degree. I wished for more enemy diversity to be more precise the infected. It feels like, "just more of the same". And the last important point is the story. All the different emotions I felt in first few minutes into the first one where unbelievable. There was only one moment I felt something for any of the characters and that one was Joel. All the others even Elli felt like only driven by one emotion and my empathy for anyone was very limited. Everything in the story felt like such a generic revenge story and there are many games which did it better. I watched the ending in disbelieve and sat there for a minute and asked myself: "that was it?" After such a long time playing this game(the playing time was for me about 20-30h I am not sure right now) it didn´t felt satisfying. I am truly, truly heartbroken for how they decided to handle the story archs. Was it a bad game? No, from the gameplay standpoint I didn´t think so. Was it a good game? No, the story destroyed my expirience completely. The hole plot from the first is perfect. The second one feels like: "We have to put this theme on it, REVENGE, REVENGE, REVENGE. I wouldn't be as harsh as many people are that the game is 0/10, no game is that bad, maybe some terrible iOS/Android game for kids is really 0/10 but not this one, I would give it like 5/10 but I can also be hypocrite like a lot of reviewers that gave this game 10/10 even though they mentioned many times in the review they didn't like this or that.
So 4/10 is I think fair score for this game.
Really don't understand what was the end goal for Naughty Dog here, seems like they took inspiration from SW: the Last Jedi, movie that subverted our expectations with no payoff, basically this is the same, the Last of Us 2 subverts our expectations with no payoff.

The first last of us had wrapped itself up beautifully then this garbage came out with hideous narrative (except for the flashbacks). Storyline is set in a way that you end up not caring about the major characters. Expand

This game is definitely worse than the first part. The reasons for this are really simple. First of all, completely ruined plot. Like, compare the first part’s plot to this. No similarities, no advantages. Secondly, the agitation that may not be so obvious but if you look closely and think about what happens you’ll see. But in the latter half of the game things just get awfull and just plain underwelming and confusing.
The ending scene where abby is just left to live is a huge hit. And some decisions elly makes (Leaving her family) are not like her and take away from the original story.

    - Over sexualization of characters. I thought this Director was tired and against this. (Hypocrisy)
    - Ruined characters, abandoning their history and personality traits.
    - AI is lacking basic intelligence that pales in comparisons to today's standards in games.
    - No real meaningful innovation in gameplay
    - The biggest threat in this world doesn't seem like a threat (zombies)
    - LACK OF A CHOICE, this game sets a goal and it forcibly back you out of it. on both characters. you cant even take a side. it would have been an interesting twist for the game that allows you to choose your main character with story altering decisions you can make to alter your game.

This game dishonors The Last of us, The connection and bond built in the previous game was for nothing. many of the story's decisions were pointless, in the end our main character Ellie lost everything, gained nothing, and did nothing in the grand scheme. this game is disrespectful and I can not support another Naughty Dog game if its made by this director.

Tumblr fan fiction masquerading as a sequel to one of my favorite games of all time. Abby is the literal worst.

Story is bad. The only character in this game that has any sort of story or arc in this game is Abby who is someone I could not relate to. All of Abby's friends are unmemorable plot devices and I cant even remember half of them. The writers tried way too hard on making the players like Abby that I feel it has the opposite affect because it comes off a manipulative way to tell a story. AbbyStory is bad. While Ellie gets reduced to a mindless terminator only going to kill everyone and everything that gets in her way. This is why I personally don't like the revenge story in this game is makes one of the most beloved characters into a mindless drone with no personality or depth to her character. With a boring and cliche story/characters such as this their is no way I can give this game a high score even though everything else is great about the game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After the release of the magnificent first part, quite a lot of time passed, and the team of developers of this series left many talented people. They were replaced by consultants who completely understood nothing in the gaming industry. I am sure that initially, a different plot and other characters in this game were conceived, but as a result of the pressure of various minorities and quasi-fighters for various rights, this whole thing was rewritten and redone more than once.

In general, of course, there is where to roam. There is a pretty nice picture and not a stupid AI, but still nothing supernatural is observed in this game. I would say you can play, but not really what you need. Skipping this project at the start, you absolutely will not lose anything. I am sure that we should expect good discounts in the near future.

P.S. Honestly, THE LAST FROM US: PART TWO, for me personally the disappointment of the year. I find it very stupid to replace GG Joel with GG Ellie. I expected a good continuation of the first part, but I received a product that is trying to impose on me, the egocentric opinion of pseudo-defenders and the sick interests of a diverse minority. That's just all these people, the game as a whole is not interesting, unlike me. So I suppose this will be the last copy of the game I purchased from this developer, because the further the worse.

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
