    The graphics look great but the story is really disappointed! It’s really sad because I was really looking forward to play this game.

    Game-play and how it uses the sublimely realized ultra detailed and diverse environments to mix it up is incredible. Stealth, and skirmish tactics and ruthless AI (on Hard or above) is so much fun, thrilling infected encounters in claustrophobic spaces are also very memorable. The graphics/visuals are mind-blowing good. The story however is very very very bad, generic revenge plot, andGame-play and how it uses the sublimely realized ultra detailed and diverse environments to mix it up is incredible.     The first Last of Us is a masterpiece. In Part 2, I appreciate the craftsmanship with regard to the Graphics Design, Sound Design, Animations, Visual Effects and Gameplay is great BUT the story, characters and script are awfully bad. I do not recommend The Last of Us Part II. Play and enjoy the first game and pretend this sequel doesn’t exist.

    Коротко по минусам и плюсам:
    + графика и детали действительно радуют глаз; + приятно увидеть героев предыдущей части; - сценарий, где стараются не развить отношения, а обрывают на конфликте, вводя новых героев, считаю достаточно дешевым ходом, на который отреагируют многие, как и я; - количество    Чтобы не быть голословным честным, скажу, что наиграл первые 2-3 часа, после бросил игру.

    - количество цис,транс и прочих гендеров (я лоялен и ничего против не имею, НО!), в условиях пост апокалипсиса, встают перед глазами, хотя не должны являться первым планом, в подобном мире;
    - геймплей, мне никогда не нравилось как она играется, но мне нравился герой, поэтому для меня "геймплей" и игра закончилась вначале.

    P.S: Игра не заслуживает оценки - 0, но и шедевром ее назвать мягко говоря язык не повернется. Она заслуживает внимания, если вам интересен мир, но не стоит его, если вы влюблены в главных героев серии.    … Expand

    Critics don't know anything I don't know why they decided to rate the game what it wasn't. I guess this is what access media is I will never take them seriously ever. Game looks amazing pass that the gameplay is mediocre which honestly this would all be okay if they decided to put more into the story instead they ruined the story completely. Instead Neil Drunktard wrote directed played and even **** quite literally the game. He should never touch another game ever. This will not go down as a great game that The Last of US was they should remake it call it The Last of US: re and have Ellie wake up to a nightmare as a teen and go from there. Have a play as both Ellie and Joel and introduce a new character and make it a game with multiple ending their I fix it Naughty Dog bring back Bruce Straley to fix this **** Lastly make improvements to the gameplay.

Coming off the last game, I was expecting a whole new story that will carry me through a story of great loss and remembrance. but instead we got something completely different. We got a story about how revenge can negatively impact the revenge taker. Which is where my problems with the game take shape. The people in my family that have played this game before and after me have also expressed how they felt that they didn't want to play as Abby in the game. They felt she was given too many good weapons, too many good scenes that could have been given to Ellie. But most importantly, they felt they should not be playing as the person who killed Joel, the player you play as in the majority of the previous game. They expressed how they should have been playing as Ellie the entire time and taking revenge against Abby. Not playing as Abby trying to hunt down Ellie. (There is even a scene in the theater in which you have to sneak around and try to attack Ellie, which felt weird as you would think it should have been the other way around. ) I have to agree with my family's input as it did feel weird to be playing as essentially the antagonist of the game for half the game. That's how the best scenes in the game are usually the ones with Ellie. (Such as the museum scene.) Story aside however, graphics in the game are stunning, with the usual Naughty Dog flare. Game-play was OK as they didn't really innovate from the previous game (with the exception of the dodge and prune mechanic). But I have to say that the enemy AI is really good in the game as they will try and flank you any chance they got. But altogether, if they want to improve next time, they shouldn't put in a new character that nobody knows, who kills the main protagonist of the last game, and expect people to play as that character for half the game.… Expand

    I will say that I always thought the first game was completely overrated, so I went into this not expecting much. Man, the first game is a God's blessing compared to this.

    The story has such terrible pacing problems that I cannot even believe that it's a reality. Most characters are uninteresting and underdeveloped, don't make logical decisions, and the plot armor is beyond acceptable.     You spend so much of the game doing very little and making little progress that by the end it felt like a waste of time.

    The gameplay felt marginally improved, but still lacks any meaningful new mechanics. Proning and dodging are nice, but I wanted Ellie to feel faster and more agile, but she controls very similarly to Joel who felt more like a Tank. The gameplay personally got boring and repetitive by the halfway point.

    Anyway, the complements can be for the graphics, audio, animations, etc. However I can't say crunching people with overtime was worth the end product. The visual fidelity and audio quality wasn't worth the human cost, and it wasn't worth losing my sanity over.

    Those mainstream reviewers that gave this a 10/10 should be ashamed. Stop promoting these terrible games as some sort of amazing standard that should be followed. Just because millions upon millions of dollars were invested doesn't mean that the product is any good.

    I can't recommend the game even if you got it for free. Avoid it.

    Lo positivo: TLOF2 mejoro notablemente el sistemas de juego de su antecesor , mejores y mas detalladas ambientaciones , mejores armas , maneras de jugar , nuevos puzzles , mecánicas , el lo nivel gráfico esta bien, pero no es lo mejor de esta generación, pero si me sorprende el nivel de detalles.

    Unfortunately, in an effort to subvert expectations, it appears that Neil Druckman has completely ignored his own established world. The Last of Us 2 is a bloated mess of a game that tries so hard to force progressive identity politics down our throats through the facade of a weak revenge plot all while consistently diverting from the plot to go on what seems like a 10 hour side quest.

    It's gameplay hasn't evolved much in the past 10 years, it's characters are unlikable and make horrible decisions, you're force to play as the antagonist in order to bring empathy when in reality it just makes you hate the character even more and it all accumulates in an ending that doesn't fit with the themes the game tries to hard to enforce.

    The first game had the ability to balance light and dark, however the sequel feels like a nightmare in the worst way, while it's an undeniably beautiful game, spending 25 hours to feel this miserable just isn't worth it.    … Expand

    I like this game, it's something new, gameplay, grafic and music are beautiful.
    But not a Story.
    When I start to play this game I think "That it is, yes! I wait for it so long and now I can enjoy it"
    But no..
    Just look at the start of story, poor Joel, I know, he must die, but not like that, not at the begining, hell no.
    Abby story sucked.
    The plot could be built differently, I was disgusted to play for Abby, I do not understand why we were given control over her.
    It was an absolutely superfluous story in this game, it was possible to mitigate the motivation for killing Joel in 2-3 cutscenes.
    Throughout the game, I could not express Abby's compassion. I liked Owen more, who was never disclosed as a character.
    Ellie’s motivation at the end of the game is not clear, why, for what?

    I have never been so disappointed in a game. Giving it a 4 is generous. The gameplay and visuals were beautiful but the plot and story just felt like a cash grab. That game could have been half of the length that it was. And I felt like I thought it was the ending 5 different times. Any part that I thought was the ending would have been better than what we got.

    O jogo tem de tudo bom, menos a história. O que não seria um problema se o jogo fosse focado em gameplay, coisa que não é. O jogo é focado em uma história com furos, situações forçadas, um plot que parece de fan fic, e um final muito, mas muito ruim. Enfim, é isso. Eu e muitos jogadores que esperaram por anos uma continuação desse game estamos decepcionados.

The parts where you play as Abby are just painful, you don’t feel anything for her even though the game tires to tell you she’s just misunderstood, but honestly I don’t care she sucks and it pisses me off that it’s Ellie’s stupid careless mistakes that cause her to track you down, and what is up with Ellie ? She’s not the lovable funny amusing girl from the first game .... It feels like she’s gone through a trauma but the game never explains What that is .... the game play is the only thing that saves this game but it’s a little Repetitive with long segments of basically, Kill all the Infected or human enemies, None of that trying to sneak past clickers from the first game, In fact the game is much easier than the first game, The story is a complete let down but the gameplay save the game from being terrible but sadly it’s just an average game, Which given its predecessor it’s a real shame and disappointment… Expand

    To be honest I think this will be the last game that I play from this franchise. I absolutely loved the first game, so much it brought mt to tears, but this one...brought me to tears in anger and shock right at the beginning when I discover they decided to kill the main protagonist.
    Make us play with the character that murdered him, etc...
    Just poor decisions on Naughty Dog's behalf and I know for a fact that if wasn't for "paid" reviews, this game would have been a lot worse than it is in terms of sales.
    Anyway this just demonstrates that you can't win all the time and to me this developer lost it's way and won't seem me purchasing any other game from them in the future.    … Expand

    Геймплей 10ти летней давности, сюжет полнейший кринж, даже все равно на лгбт посыл и тд. Есть локации где ты на протяжении часа просто ходишь и перелезаешь через заборы. Сделана неплохо, играется скучно

    Just hated the direction they took the story in . Yes the graphics are amazing but I was just too upset by the story telling to enjoy. Incredibly unsatisfying ending didn't help much either.

Our beloved characters get completely destroyed, Joel because he gets disgustingly killed and Ellie and Tommy because they become human scum. All to make Abby, the disgusting killer of Joel look great. Ellie murders dogs, Abby pets them and plays with them, Ellie Kills pregnant women, Abby Let's them live. It's so extremely obvious what the developers tried here. Love Abby and hate your old beloved characters. Absolutely disgusting. Joel's Death is the cheapest and just worst death i've ever experienced in a game. But the worst Part was that half of the game we are forced to play as Abby. You absolutely notice that this Game is Made to spit old Fans in theface. Never felt so **** playing a Video Game. Graphics are great, Sound ist top notch, gameplay is pretty improved compared to the First Game, but Overall it's a Bad experience. Can't recommend it to fans of the First Game. Naughty Dog should be absolutely ashamed. This franchise is dead now, at least for me.… Expand

    unfortunately as a story focused action RPG based off of my experience and love of the fantastic first game I can only give this a 4/10 total. The foundation at which this franchise was built upon in the first game, the love, depth and interaction between the main characters and its beautifully written movie moments have been shattered and replaced with a cast of grim, gore ridden, unlikeable grey tones, whos main aim seems to be hatred of all life including your valuable time. perhaps if you have not played the first one you may find some enjoyment here or if you loved the film "the road" and want to re watch it over 10 times in one sitting.

The story seems to be intended to shock and it does. In first part that endless collecting for different thrash vas boring - not it is even more boring.     But the worst is when creators forces you yo play as an anthagonist, who you basically intended to hate. Unfortunately, there's no way to continue progressing the story, after you let Abby die in different ways, but it stopped me from continue playing after some fun letting her die.

    People on subreddits and different media outlets called out the people who saw the leaks. They were called homophobic, transphobic, and all sorts of things.

    I consider myself an intelligent person, and as such, I've never cared for sex, gender, or affiliation in the games. I consider myself open minded, and never had a problem with anything, as long as it made sense, and it the story was written well.

    Obviously, I had no problem with Ellie loving women. It was hinted at in the DLC of the first game, and it played out in this one without any kind of issues. (The love triangle with Jesse, Dina being pregnant, and pregnancy giving Dina a plot armor was kinda meh though)

    But oh boy, the writing in this game. It's unbelievable. It's just ... wow.

    The man who taught Ellie how not to trust strangers, just randomly saves someone (doesn't even care if she's infected or not, because you know, it's not like there's an apocalypse happening). He goes one step further, he says "oh you live there with God knows how many of your buddies? Sure let's go", and then he practically introduces himself "Hey, I'm Joel". Of course Abby instantly knows it's the Joel she's looking for, since she saw the town 4 minutes ago with probably hundreds of people, and she already confirmed on Facebook, that there's only one Joel in there.

    So she goes on and brutally murders Joel. She murders Ellie's father figure right in front of her eyes. I expected Joel to die in the game, but definitely not like this. Disrespectful would be putting it lightly. Even the game devs said that they want to create a meaningful story, and not base this on shock value. Well, guess what this is. (Yes, shock value).

    So, after this, you're kinda left hanging and thinking, "okay, but they had Joel in so many places in the trailers, this can't be real". It is. Most of the scenes you saw are flashbacks that are just too short, but still show you the potential in this game. The thing it could have been with good writing. In other parts, Joel simply wasn't there. ND put him there for you to buy the game obviously. Calling this false advertising might be going a bit too far I guess (I'm not a legal expert though), but it's certainly a dick move which will cause some loss of trust among the community's members.

    Through the flashback scenes by the way, Ellie will learn the truth about the ending of the first game. She then starts hyperventilating and crying, because she didn't get to die. Yes. She's crying because she survived. The game practically tells you that there was only one doctor who could make the cure in the world (lol) and he's dead now because of Joel. You're not allowed to think that maybe, MAYBE the fireflies wouldn't have been equipped enough to start producing serums for EVERYONE, or even create the serum AT ALL. Joel is painted as the evil being that destroyed humanity's last hope. (You had this question popping up at the end of the first game as well, but back then, you were allowed to think about it). I saw a Youtube video discussing this (sorry, I don't remember the channel) and the guy mentioned that he wouldn't give up his life for anything at 14 years of age. Well, I wouldn't either.

    So what's after this?

    Well, you go to Seattle, murder every living being associated with our great friend, Abby. Along your journey here and there, you will encounter the religious (? I couldn't really figure out) cult, the Seraphites, that just kill for fun. Obviously the message here is... Religion bad? I don't really know.

    Also, did I mention you play as Abby for 8-10 hours? Oh yeah, you have to play as Joel's murderer, and what's worse, they'll try to get you to actually like her. I mean... If they change the ending, and take these hours out of the game, it might not even be as bad as it is.

    Before the ending, there will be a few nice moments (mostly flashbacks), and some horroristic ones. And of course, endless, useless violence. Ellie freaks out because she murders a pregnant woman (in self defense, since as she's about to lower her guard, they approach and try to kill her), and Abby comes back from her tour with her new friend. They fight, but end up going their separate ways after that.

    And the ending... You actually find Abby, and force a fight, but since you have a vision of JOEL (who was brutally murdered in front of you) you decide - after murdering half the United States - that it's actually not worth it... ok. You also lose a couple of fingers.

    I'm not an expert on changing hands with guitar, but she definitely has 5 fingers on the other hand, and with 3 fingers, you can play pick, slap, or fingerstyle. So she leaves the guitar, obviously.

    We get a final scene with Joel, so after all this, you may feel a bit better.

    I think this game was not developed to be naturalistic, it was just developed by a psychopath.

    It will get GOTY ofc

Now let me get the good out of the way, the graphics, atmosphere, soundtrack, animations are all excellent. The gameplay and AI is good but gameplay gets repetitive and the AI can be super dumb at times which stops it being excellent. The story though is so weak and poor in comparison to the first it hurts. Character development and connection to characters was what made us fall in love with the first game. Now I am not fussed on Joel dying (GoT made me tough to losing main characters) however the execution of Joel's death is so badly done and it is done for cheap shocks and nothing more. Druckman said we were meant to feel something and we do, we feel cheated and peeved off because of what YOU did and how YOU chose to do it more than Abby killing our beloved character. What follows is a by the numbers revenge plot which if you have seen any movie of this type you will have seen time and time again there is nothing new here yet it is being heralded as genius. It is EVERY revenge film EVER but with a worse ending. I actually feel a better ending would have been Ellie finding Abby tied up at the end, having a conversation and then just leaving her to die there or maybe even leaving it open for someone to have rescued Abby and open it up for a third with her but what we get is a pointless exchange and then another change of heart, which happens a lot in this game, where we let her go. I didn't like it and to be honest the length of the game and the way it is draaaaaged out meant by the time I got to the end I actually felt more annoyed that was what I got. Nothing. A poor end to what had so much promise. The story is what drives a game such as this and unfortunately the last of us 2 is a hollow, weak, poorly paced, generic story I have seen over and over again and it fails to deliver. 7 years.....for this. I am totally confused how anyone can score this 10 out of 10 as a perfect game when it isn't really doing anything new that we haven't seen or played before and there is no way this story stacks up against the first, nowhere near, the first installment had everything a good story needs. Druckman clearly peaked at that point. I was really excited for this part but all it has done is made me even less interested in a third. The sequel to one of my all time favorite video games I wanted to see what the consequences of one of the most complex and well written characters Joel would be but this game fails to do anything that a PART 2 should.

    SPOILERS AHEAD

    They kill one of my favorite characters within the first TWO HOURS in the most pathetic way and for a character I cared for so much about to get no emotion from me is shocking, absolutely shocking.

    The games structure is poor and trying so hard to be artsy but instead it's fartsy. The flashbacks with Joel and Ellie (the best parts of the game) which should of been how the game started and made us a reason to care about the characters once again, but we get four 20 minute flashbacks in the game after Joel's death and this is suppose to make us feel anything? NO this storytelling sucks, make us care about the characters again, imagine if you hadn't played the original since the release you won't care that Joel dies, you won't even really care about the flashbacks which should of just been this entire game.

    The new character Abby is trash as well because of the structure as well, when you kill our favorite character of the series and then expect us to care about this pathetic "secondary protagonist", no you failed at that, all the new characters in fact are awful, none get an interesting morally grey complex like in the original game. In fact I couldn't even tell you that much about the characters apart from Abby. Dina is pregnant and went to synagogue with her sister, that's it, really that's all you can do to create a character, a teenager could of written a better character. Most of these characters die and apparently everyone has short term memory loss and forget about these characters, wow great writing. If you want to do a revenge is bad story why don't you explore how it has mentally affected these protagonist, that would of been interesting, they give us a scene of this in the epilogue and that's it.

    The ending is the worst ending maybe ever in AAA gaming history. This game could of been easily 1 or 2 points higher if we got the satisfaction of murdering the person who killed Joel but no. Ellie has legit drowned her in the most pathetic final battle ever but for some reason a flashback of Joel makes her stop. REALLY? that would make me make sure she's dead. Now we will get a spinoff or sequel with Abby which I'm sure the fans are really gonna want.

    The gameplay is the same from the original, nothing wrong with that because I enjoyed the gameplay of the original but this has no innovation at all and no a prone, jump and dodge button doesn't make the gameplay "changed". I ran into many bugs, for example getting stuck in boxes, the camera locking in combat and characters being unresponsive to inputs, this game is not polished at all, this is the most since Fallout 76 of bugs I've ran into.

    I found the Seattle downtown segment with Ellie exploring and finding cool things to be the most fun I had with the game, exploring was definitely welcome. But when you get to the pathetic second half with Abby the game feels rushed and exploring was very limited which was a massive letdown.

    This game is easily the worst Sony game since the launch of the PS4 with the order 1886 and Knack. I have never been so disappointed and shocked with the direction of any media like this ever. I hope they do not continue the Last of Us series and make a new IP which I will not support as I have lost trust with Naughty Dog. Lets hope that Ghost of Tsushima is the exclusive to end the PS4 on a high note.    … Expand

    Меня не сильно взбесило что убили гг 1й части (я был уверен что он умрет во 2й...но не так и не так быстро!) а взбесило меня что всю 2ю половину игры мы играем за тестостероную обезьяну!
    зачем? Я НЕ ХОЧУ ЗА НЕЕ ИГРАТЬ! 2я часть игры полный бред. Я удалил игру после 1го дня за эбби и посмотрел концовку в ютубе.
    Финал это вообще...такого плохого я еще не видел, в нем все плохо. Игру не советую покупать.
    Так же в игру есть постоянное "превосходство женщины"

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First of all, just because the game developers decided to take a lazy risk, doesn’t make the game a “masterpiece”. The execution was as lazy as it can get. What changed after 7 years of waiting? Nothing. Gameplay is a copy and paste from the first one, the only thing thats changed are the graphics, which look amazing of course but thats about it. You play the whole game thinking you might be getting some revenge but no, the game just..ends. You do all that chasing & killing for no reason at all. It’s okay for Abby to get revenge but not for Ellie? The game just reeks of lazy writing & uses some manipulative ways to make you like Abbys character & justify what she does. The first game was one of the few games that I played for 6+ hours straight the first time I started it because everything made sense, the story felt real, the writing felt natural & not manipulative. You felt like you were part of that world & couldn’t wait to see whats next. TLOU2 on the other hand, I just wanted it to end so I can return the disc & buy something else instead. Dull, lazy, uninspiring & I wouldn’t recommend paying more than $20 for this useless cash grab. We all know that the only reason TLOU 2 sold millions is because of TLOU 1. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have an issue with anyone dying. I have an issue with HOW they died. If it was executed properly & with some thought, it would make sense but it doesn’t.     The plot seems as if it was writen by a 14 year old teen with mental disorders, killing here and there without sense, trying to colocate the player in a harsh post apocaliptic time but breaking the immersion every time with the poor cohesion.
    Killing Joel to make Ellie grow up at full is one of the most mediocre resources this game brings up.
    Abby is a flat, dull and pathetical character.
    Her reasons to act lack of deepness.

    Violence bears revenge, is the game's mantra.
    Yet still it splashes you that violence in a way that you get fed up.    … Expand

    The emotions and images established by Joel in the previous work are completely destroyed. Joel and Tommy who had survived in the harsh environment for years is willing to trust strangers, To the full extend of giving their full name when they know Joel has a lot of enemies is illogical. I personally do not mind Joel being killed but the way where he was killed make it a cheap death for a character that we had so much love in the previous work.

    Abby as someone who had seek for revenge for years willing to let the rest of them go dint make sense. She did not consider that there are revenge possibility or think that their group is too powerful for someone to have any possibility of revenge capability. Being The passerby who killed our favorite character she absorbed all the hatred and become the most hated character in game. Yet we are forced to play as the killer trying to establish some form of empathy and sympathy as a player for this character.

    Lastly, Ellie who lost everything in the end, her capability to play the guitar that was her link to Joel. Losing her loved ones for the act of last revenge. She knew what She is going for when she decided to go, and yet giving up on revenge on the very last minute after killing all the people in the game? This is punishing to play as the player, we should be given the choice if we wanted to kill Abby.

Their were parts I enjoyed, which was the parts of playing Ellie and the flashbacks of course. The gameplay was good I liked it, Visually great, and music is good but without a story this game has no legs to stand on.

    I've waiting over 6 years for a sequel, 3 years for it to come out, I was over the moon when I found out it was happening. Then this, why? I get what they were going for and I think if they which the two playthroughs around it would been better, Showed no promotional stuff on Ellie and joel. I think making you play as Abby was a bad decision especially after you was just getting started with Ellie and starting to get to know the other characters. I didn't like what they were going with Abby and lav aswell trying to push them like the new Ellie and joel that was silly.

    All in all I think this story would have been a good 3 game not the second and destroy all that character building from the first. Can't be for nothing! Felt like it in the end.    … Expand

    Gameplay mechsnics are ok, comparable to other popular games (days gone, assassin's etc) so this is like all other games. But the thing here that we as a players wanted was story. And the story and emotions behind it is just BAD.

    Story put together in the worst imaginable way which breaks narrative and makes you forget about some characters which have not been even properly introduced. I can only give 5 for graphics and for gameplay which I loved in the first game.
    I want to just erase that terrible story from my brain to make only first game be associated when I remember last of us ever again.

    This has nothing to do with identity politics or anti-woke gamers. Look at the score for LoU by gamers. If you make a bad story people can criticize it. If you make bad gameplay people can criticize it. Gamers are not against lesbians look at score for 1st game. There is a difference between playing a work of art which has lessons and playing a work of propaganda meant to teach you lessons first. Everyone knows revenge is bad and a cycle of violence is wrong we don't need to play a 25 hour game to get that message. Create a bad work of propaganda put in some identity stuff and then when you are criticized for creating ineffective art you can just say your critics are criticizing the work because of the identity issues. What a failsafe plan. It is possible for woke people to make a woke game that is bad woke doesn't guarantee a good game. It is possible for a sequel to be worse than original in fact that is often the case. People don't like this game because of the story destroying what they loved in the first game. Wokeness has nothing to do with it because the first game was woke too. Stephen King wrote some terrible novels some of them sequels as well. Druckman and company can make a terrible game and we can criticize it on those merits. The first game was woke and we loved it. Wokeness if not a factor in this criticism.… Expand

Characters like Joel are shown to adept and skilled at survival in the first game, skill-fully avoiding an ambush in the early parts of the game showing his many years of experience in his line of work but fails to do that in this game for sake of the revenge plot that they wanted. His death spits in the face of fans who liked him. There's nothing wrong with giving a main character a good death. It can leave a lasting impact like Lee in the Walking Dead or Zak from Crisis Core. Those deaths resonated with fans because it was expertly crafted. This wasn't done well whatsoever.

    The ending makes no sense too, you play through the game killing left and right only to spare the antagonist you were after in the beginning of the game at the very last moment after fighting them. I get that the game wants to do the "revenge is bad" angle but it's done so poorly Ellie's motives make no sense considering what she's done to get there. I honestly felt like it was written by somebody else entirely, somebody with an abysmal writing experience and knows nothing about the writing or the game's characters.

    The gameplay was always mediocre too, nothing that amazing, you might as well watch it on Youtube.
    The only thing redeeming about the last of us is the characters and graphics, the former is done so poorly in this game.

    Never really liked the first game but really don't like this game.
    Don't recommend it, just watch the cutscenes on Youtube if you really have to.    … Expand

    What made the first game phenomenal? Story. It had fantastic characters like Tess, Bill (who was gay) Sam, Henry, David. Fleshed out human characters, evil or not. We had a brilliant character development; Joel bitter after losing Sarah but seeing her in Ellie; a broken, lost girl with a kick ass attitude. The ending was what I call a parents ending. I wouldnt let my child die to save a world that doesnt deserve saving. Id kill to protect my child, like Joel did.

    All that is MEANINGLESS. Its GONE. It is CLEAR that the creative brains behind TLOU did not make TLOU2. Dont buy it. Dont let it taint the first.

    In a parralel universe, Joel is a grandfather to Ellie and Dinah's child. Enduring and surviving mutated cordyceps creatures in a world which is increasingly dying.    … Expand

Joel and ellie quickly became my favorite character's due to their bond that grew along the hard journey they took, fighting for eachother, the joke's they had along the way and their hardships. Last of us 2 **** on this. Not only did they kill joel within 2 hrs of playing, they gave him a gruesome death for shock value. I still kept playing though as i still had some kind of hope that it'd get better, I was soo so wrong. The ellie half i had so much fun with, i seriously thought i'd be playing as ellie the whole time. WRONG. Once they switched me to abby i about quit, i was so disgusted by the fact they forced me to play as joel's killer, i didn't know how they could do this. Not only was playing as abby i didn't give two ****s about her, they go on to force you to beat ellie to a pulp along with dina, i was so sick to my stomach, they also killed jesse for shock, they tryed so hard to paint abby as a decent person but she say's GOOD when ellie tells her dinas pregnant as she's about to slit her throat? WTF IS WRONG WITH ND. After the ellie/abby fight i just wanted it to end but they kept dragging the game ON AND ON. They than switch you to ellie again, she's finally happy with dina and baby boy but deeply broken and suffering of PTSD... Than tommy show's up, he degrades ellie to not give up on persuing abby, "this make's no fking sense" so ellie decides to later leave. Than more gameplay a small part of abby than ellies trip on finding her again. She finds her and they fight, but guess what. Ellie doesnt kill her, she let's her go! I get it but than i don't. Abby was half dead and broken that she could of killed her, but ellie see's joel and stops right after losing two fingers STILL.     Pro: good looking graphics, the world and characters look just awsome, some really gross moments (even for me as a video gamer verteran), still some hints of a good story design....
    Contra: .... which could have been good if they did it like in TLOU1 where you WERE Joel i mean they just nailed it in this part you were so invested in the charakters Ellie&Joel especially that you just wanted to get them through the story and survive and even at the end (I wont spoil) which was debatable I was very excited and happy/adrenaline fuelled. But the Story in TLOU2 oh man... i dont even know where to start so Ellie is mad at Joel for the end of the first one which for me is kinda fkn **** he just saved her life period. (Spoiler) Killing Joel in the second half is not too bad of an idea if they did it correct but it was just so underwealmingly bad written, even more after that you had to play his killer to see her side of the story i mean like come on thats the least thing i want to do i just want revenge. Even more of a thing that bothers me is the end which denies you as a player the revenge Ellie just decides like "nope I m not gonna avenge the person that was like a father to me" but killing everybody else on this journey to revenge was ok ?     Part 2 tells a story of how every character you loved lost each other including themselves . The game kills Joel early. I was so sad. I kept telling myself that the story was going to be worth it. So I kept playing. The game forced me to act unreasonably violently when playing as Ellie. I kept telling myself that the story was going to be worth it. So I kept playing. The game forced me to play as Abby for 10 hours . I kept telling myself that the story was going to be worth it. But Naughty Dog chose to kill one of the most beloved game characters ever and then intentionally lie and mislead fans prior to release concerning said character. Of course I’m talking about Joel. My problem is not necessarily the fact they chose to kill Joel, but the manner in which it was done. First, as previously stated, they intentionally misled and lied to fans prior to release. Then they killed him way early in the game in a brutal and extremely violent manner. Then they had the gall to have a character spit on Joel after his death. Totally unnecessary and as if they were spitting on fans. Then as a player you are forced to play as Abby who killed Joel! Obviously as a player I now hate Abby and have no empathy at all toward her or her reasons for killing him. I seriously did not want to continue playing at that point and intentionally allowed Abby to be killed over and over. As incredible and great as The Last of Us was, this game was equally that bad. No character development, questionable storyline and too much agenda injected. I was a dedicated Naughty Dog fan prior to this but now I will never trust anything they say or release and I am not sure I will purchase any more of their games. I don’t enjoy being lied to and misled. I suspect I am not the only fan Naughty Dog has alienated. Too bad since this was so avoidable.… Expand

    Story 2/10 (Do i really have to have an explanation?, just play it and you'll know, you feel betrayed by the devs, by the game, by even Ellie and Joel, you just feel bad overall, they spit on beloved characters, Abby doesn't lose anything, but Ellie lose EVERYTHING, friends, her father figure (Joel) and lovers.... and Abby just walks out unscratched... i mean yeah she lost her father, but you can't compare 1 person to dozens that Ellie lose because of Abby

    IA 7/10 (sometimes is wanky but overall good?)

    Even if the game is an overall 6.5-7/10 i wouldn't recommend this to anyone, only if you are a masochist or like to read NTR **** or those kind of things, only if you like to feel bad about yourself

    unfortunately, I read the leaks and could not believe them so I had to play it to prove that Naughty Dog would not make this mistake by killing Joel. By Telling a story about a character, ABBY, I don't care about.

    The gameplay was wonderful like the animations and so on but I really hated the story. It has too many plotholes, the flashbacks drag you out of the story and the ending is pointless. There are so many great characters that die in the end or you don't know what happend to them like Dina and her baby. They are just gone.

    It is a very good videogame if you just want to shoot people and infected with one of the best skillbased shooting in history but the story is trash.

    The Score of 4 points are just for the game itself (excluding story and storytelling) the other parts which are more important for me get 0 points. I hope Naughtydog will learn by this socring of the game and will think about a satisfaying story which the players and the characters deserve!    … Expand

The story comes off as a snobby college student writing a dark story for the first time and showing it off in your face saying i know how to write take me serious. I shouldn’t have to go when playing a game ”wait a minute what? Oh man thats a plot hole” or ”I would’ve written that better” but i did and I’m sure plenty of others are as well. The combat is serviceable it doesnt do anything that another AAA publisher couldn’t easily do better but it gets the job done. The atmosphere is dark and thats to be expected the choice of music is a mixed bag though but its nothing to cry over. The Story is Divisive and I would argue significantly unpolished if its not dragging it feels rushed. Naughty Dog’s game is going to have to compete vs CyberPunk2077 ,Ghosts of Tsushima, and maybe even Baldurs Gate 3. Dont be surprised if 1...2 or even all 3 of these games outsell their newest game or come close to their sales with a better consumer rating.… Expand

    This is a terrible game. The original was a decent game with a good plot which dealt with themes like family and loyalty which resonated because although it was a brutal world, the story was essentially one of love and redemption and taking one’s destiny into their own hands and finding hope and a reason to fight even in an ugly world. This is literally the opposite of that. Fun times.

    Completely screws every character from part 1 and introduces new characters everyone hates and cutscenes you just want to skip at some point. Everything left over from part 1 is destroyed/violated/abused in this part to push a new story "direction" that I honestly didn't like at all. It feels cheap, rushed, superficial and irrational. I hate everybody in this sequel, including (or especially) Ellie and how she reacts / what she decides to do. If you play this, prepare to be butthurt. A lot. The story is a complete catastrophe.

    Final verdict: Medicore at best, I enjoyed about half of it and the more I played, the more I wanted to quit and play something else. Also leaves a very bad aftertaste after the ending. 4/10    … Expand

    This game is beautiful, the best from ps4, amazing job from the programmers team, but the history let everything you love about trying to write his own, you cant just kill a beloved character like joel to progress the history, imagine killing kratos to start loki history or killing Geralt to give Ciri a reason for revenge, thats is what happen in TLoU 2, a cliche plot using a masterpiece.
    I'ill ignore TLoU2 and everything from now on, its better to consider TLoU the only game in the series to see become a cliche, Socio-political cash grab.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us Part 1 had a great story and I was super excited to play Part 2. This excitement turns out to be almost for nothing. The story is not at all what I was expecting, and has so many flaws and problems that it almost ruins the game.

    Now for the good. The visuals are outstanding. There is so much detail in the game that it looks like next-gen graphics. Also, the gameplay is very smooth and is almost cinematic-like which really brings the player into the game. I would like to see some different animations (especially when executing zombies) but that is almost nitpicking. Overall the artists did a great job and pretty much carried the game.

    Now for the bad (Spoiler alert)

    Killing Joel that soon into the game makes zero sense. Now saying that sure Joel probably should die at some point however after saving Abby it would be hard I think for a rational person to beat someone's head in after they saved your life, and brought you back to your group. I feel like it would have made sense if they made maybe another game before this one which the story was exclusively about Abby up to the point in which Joel killed her father. That way we have a direct motive. I feel that them trying to justify Abbys actions by explaining why she did it was useless especially when we had an entire game dedicated to Joel and Ellie the two characters that the fans fell in love with. This major flaw kind of spurred the rest of the game to just seem erratic and depressing (kind of like GOT season 8) .

    The reason why I gave the game such a low rating is because if I am reading the book. The book itself the binding, the pages, the ink, the cover, the artwork could be perfect. However, if the story in that book is bad it does not matter how good those other things are I am going to stop reading it. That is the best way I can describe why I rated this game so low.

    I hope that they decide that this game is not canon to the actual story because I would love to see a part 3. However, if they decide to keep this story as canon I'd rather not. Even if they decided to go back in time when Jole and Ellie were still together I think that it's too late now to do that since in the future the story just falls apart and the game makes no sense.

    Naughty Dog had a license to print money with part 1 and just tore it up in part 2.

    Overall not a bad game, but 5 years of development for repetetive gameplay and not that great story, which tries to empathyze with characters via animals + lying in interwievs and trailers. I strongly dont recomend buying for full price - when price goes under 20E, you should maybe try it.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After thinking about why I utterly disliked this game, I could only reach one conclusion.
    In the first game as Joel, I could put myself in his place and picture myself doing the same, anything to save Ellie in the end.
    But in this game... A LOT of the things the characters do make NO sense to me.

    Maybe this is one of those games that would benefit from multiple choices in the ending, I dunno.
    I could NEVER let Abby go, and I never really enjoyed playing as her, it felt completely forced "revenge is bad", witness the other side, etc, shenanigans.

    This game is a sequel, I wanted to see things from Ellie, Joel, Dina and their friends and settlement.
    Even Joel's death didn't bother that much, life in the apocalypse is tough and sometimes the worst enemies are people, I get it.

    As Ellie, I'd probably never leave Dina alone with the baby, but I understand Ellie was suffering from severe PTSD, so... ok I suppose.

    But then, by the end when we find Abby, I wouldn't even cut her loose, I'd just stab her in the gut while she was in the 'pillar' and walk away...
    Or if Ellie insisted in a duel, I could do that and the game could end with either one dead.
    Or just shoot her after she took us to the boats and sail away probably shooting Lev as well... I wouldn't wan't any Abby's friend around.

    TL;DR: There is no way in my mind I can see Ellie (or myself as Ellie) not killing Abby or die trying.    … Expand

    give 4 for the beautiful graphic, but the story killed the whole game. The story feels like they are forcing the character into this pools of vengeance trying so hard to be edgy in some point but it's just boring and easy to read through the whole situation and the death of character feels empty.

    Game story is terrible, the graphics and animations are very good, but they are not worth it in the end. I feel like this entire franchise has been ruined by this release, also I feel like Naughty Dog falsely advertised what the story is going to about, that's why I'm giving it a 4.

Amparada por la mayor tragedia perpetrada en la historia de los videojuegos. El mas claro ejemplo de como destruir el legado de lo que para mi es uno de los mejores juegos de la historia.
    Joel no cometió ninguna atrocidad, EL mundo en el que el vivía, ya estaba destruido y de la humanidad ya no quedaba nada que salvar. Ya estaba herida de muerte por sus miserias. Pero una vez mas el destino le quería arrebatar aquello que mas quería. Y con la duda de si los Luciérnagas, serian capaces, aun teniendo los conocimientos necesarios para conseguir la tan ansiada vacuna y con los limitados y cochambrosos medios de los que disponían. La elección estaba clara. El padre de Abby estaba en un quirófano custodiado por un ejercito de Luciérnagas. La proporción era mas que desfavorable, y aun así, Joel lo consiguió, y no por que ellos no trataron de matarlo.
    Abby es un despropósito, la historia es plana , el ritmo lento y pesado. Desaparecieron las escaleras, las rampas, los puzzles, la genialidad.
    Como hubiera sido este juego, si hubierais dado la libertad real de elegir, explorar diferentes caminos, ira, o perdón. A lo largo de toda la cinta, la posibilidad real de no matar a nadie. Eso si que habría sido elegante y digno de un goty, le habría dado sentido real al mensaje que queríais transmitir    … Expand

    Absolute disrespect towards the 1st game. The story and the characters are so horribly written that it doesn't even make me angry anymore, just sad. There is nothing new in the gameplay we haven't seen already in other games. The only thing that's truly great about this game are the graphics. But that's it. The quality of the story rivals the story of Star Wars VIII: The last jedi. And iAbsolute disrespect towards the 1st game. The story and the characters are so horribly written that it doesn't even make me angry anymore, just sad. There is nothing new in the gameplay we haven't seen already in other games. The only thing that's truly great about this game are the graphics. But that's it. The quality of the story rivals the story of Star Wars VIII: The last jedi.     Verdict: 4/10 (just because the graphics are amazing).

    - If you don't like it when someone spits in your (or Joel's) face, AVOID this game.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
