    Masterpiece!!! I understand why some people might dislike this game, but for me the gameplay, charachters and even story is better than in the first game!

    The game is dark,realistic and grounded. Dont listen to what people have to say about this game because i really think its upto you. Personally i think this game was an absolute masterpiece, everything from the controversial story to the gameplay and the graphics are absolutely stunning.

    The game starts pretty intense and interesting, but the ending makes the story and what Ellie fought for, suffered, and lost, absolutely pointless. Would not recommend.

    If one thing that I utterly agree with Naughty dog is that the theme of the last of us part 2 is hatred. I hate the part 2 almost as much as I loved the part one. Despite the gorgeous graphics, new game mechanic, I have never hated one character in my life. So in this sense, naughty dog has trult    No words can express how disappointment I am to the game, characters and its publisher.

    After 9 hours into the game i couldn't take it anymore, gameplay have issues, story is laughable and the only decent thing about the game is soundtrack and graphics but that doesnt alone make a game whole.

    A struggle to get through, disappointing story, with a unsatisfying ending. Amazing graphics and decent gameplay, although doesnt make up for a lack of character development which makes it hard to feel for most characters, even the main characters, save your money on this one. Left me feeling like i wasted 20 hours.

    If you like dogs, don't play this game. It forces you to brutally murder dogs in order to progress...
    The only thing worse than this game is corona. You'd be better off playing just the first part (which is actually good) and forget the second one even exists. Hands down one of the worst experiences I've had playing a game.

    I have erased my memory and kept it in a 2014 hot summer nite which is the end of the story between Ellie and Joel, nothing happened since then, at least in my own universe.

    Really?! This is the story line they went with? Killing off a beloved character in an awful way then literally forcing you to play as his killer for 10 hours..TRYING to get you to relate with Abby and her **** friends. Besides the few interesting scenes, good graphics and cool places this games story is stupid and I am mad.

    The game is an amazing work of art. It is not for the faint of heart. Not for “fanboys”. It’s bigger than that... More important. If you liked Joker or similar films, this is up your alley. Not for pathetic reddit people. Don’t let the Review Bombing fool you, 10/10. Would recommend. Will play again.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The good: stunning graphics, loved reading Ellie's journal, every scene with the guitar, all the infected art design, the new infected types, and the Joel and Ellie flashbacks, which developed their relationship beautifully.

    The mediocre: the stealth levels and scavenging got super repetitive, Seattle got stale, and Abby's friends were pretty superficially characterized. They could have done more to make the game dynamic. Environmental puzzles that are more than finding an open window. Zombie dogs. Making the wolves more competent. More vehicle mechanics and levels.

    The bad: Killing off Joel at the beginning after I invested so much in his character made the game so much worse than it could have been. The heart of the first game was the bond between Joel and Ellie and any story that put that at the core of the game would be better. Make Jackson under attack; exile Joel; have scientists show up looking for a cure. Anything with them, because Abby's story never rivaled the emotional stakes of Joel and Ellie's. The game expects you to identify with her and I just never did. Second, the supporting characters are almost all underdeveloped (Isaac, Jessie, Maria, Tommy, Dina). Third, the ending is terrible. Introducing a new purely sadistic group at the end was lazy and Ellie not taking revenge on Abby was totally inconsistent with her character.

    All together, still enjoyed this game and couldn't put it down because of how much I cared about the fate of Ellie. If there was a solid story it could have been great.    … Expand

Fantastic gameplay, real moral conflict, obviously stunning visuals, and most of all an under-appreciated narrative. There was one respawn glitch that made me lose progress and the back-to-back cutscenes transitioning to the epilogue felt cumbersome.For me the Last of Us was a comfort game. Part II ripped me out of my seat and flung my heart around like a ragdoll like no other game has. Fantastic gameplay, real moral conflict, obviously stunning visuals, and most of all an under-appreciated narrative. There was one respawn glitch that made me lose progress and the back-to-back cutscenes transitioning to the epilogue felt cumbersome. Overall though, one of the best narrative games I’ve played. How do you mess up a story this much to the point you don’t even understand what’s going on? The story is horrible, its starts off by killing Joel and you play as the killer for majority of the game while Ellie plots her revenge in the background. It’s literally the equivalent of in your favorite show if mid-way through the season if some random person comes in and kills off the main character and replaces him/her. So much stuff just randomly happens that doesn’t make sense or is ever explained. Like many times through the game you get into these big moments and you think something is going to happen for it to just randomly stop or be interrupted without explaining anything! Why did you guys stop fighting? Why are we here now? Where is this? It’s so choppy you don’t even get to process what is happening. They went from this great story telling to just figure it out yourself. Graphics, game play, voice acting are amazing but the story is what needs to carry the game and it just wasn’t there.… Expand

I love the story of what both characters go through to stay alive and get revenge on each other while also dealing with others problems. This is one of the best games I've played. 10/10… Expand

Ok so.... i kinda had this game spoiled for me like a lot of other people, and went into it not knowing what my reaction would be until it happened!!! Then that moment came and I felt so many emotions i may have even had tears in my eyes?! How did it make me feel.... I didn’t review bomb the game.
    I didn’t cut my discs in half and post it online.
    I didn’t throw my toys out the pram and tell everyone else not to play.

    I acted like an adult and carried on charged up on all sorts of emotions hell bent on revenge wanting to blast through anyone and anything to avenge Joel...

    This game truly is a masterpiece... of storytelling of design and you can see the love and care that has been poured into every heart breaking attention to detail.

    That Birthday trip to the Museum was amazing the love between those two characters is so perfectly clear to see.

    Play the game and be ready to feel your opinions and feelings be blown all over the place.

    Пойди Дрекманн простым путем, как он сделал с Анчартед -4, то на выходе была бы обычная проходная игра, с новыми добавленными механиками и может    Нил Дрекманн как ни крути, а все таки голова. И такая голова смогла придумать такое продолжение. Продолжение - как пощечина всем влюбленным в Элли, в Джоэла и всю эту прекрасную историю первой части. А после пощеничы - еще и ушат холодной воды.

    This is definitely a game for grown ups. If you expect a mindless slash and loot until an happy end is not the game for you. This game is dark and gut wrenching and will make you yell at the screen multiple times. Easily the best game on Ps4 and prob best of all time.

    The more you play this game the more confused you get.
    Aside from all the political correctness that this game is trying to lecture, educate and manipulate us, ND tries so hard sending a message about “revenge is a fool’s game” which is ironic because when their beloved character Abby was taking her revenge on Joel that was absolutely fine and just!

    Instead of Joel and Ellie two characters with personalities, we have Abby a female who looks like a man and Lev who is a girl but wants to be a boy, not to mention that this Lev character knowing that his mom hates him for being who he is goes back to her to try to put a sense in that woman but fails and ends up killing his own mom. Now that’s a role model...
    Instead of all this neverending drama I wanted to see the story with Ellie’s immunity and all the adventure and excitment to continue from the first Last of us to the second one.

However the story was poorly written and came no where near as close to being a good game as the first TLOU. Making the game look amazing doesn’t make the game amazing. The story is such an important element (especially in TLOU franchise), the second game isn’t even comparable to the first one story wise. Not to mention what they did to one of their most loved characters only a few hours into the game and misleading trailers. Killing off a favourite in such a disrespectful way left me feeling empty for the rest of the gameplay and not really as interested.     It's a great game. You must play it for yourself. You can't really understand it unless you do. It's deeper and more rich than if you stop half way through or don't finish. You have to see it through to get the whole picture.

    The game tried to shove it's feminist views in my face the whole game. Even though I am an Asian I would still like to see straight white men who have lead roles in games. This game was good overall but the aggressive way they implemented their leftist views into the game ruined it completely

    So good. Story maybe not as strong as the first but definitely still incredible. I cried, I laughed, I was enthralled. Biggest issue is exploring and then getting locked out of an area before you're ready. But honestly, no complaints I love it ty naughty dog.

And on the divisive story choices I definitely fall in the 'hate it' category, hard for me to understand why games and movies lately feel the need to tear down existing characters we love to push agendas instead of trying to build brand new diverse casts ifFeels like a money grab sequel movie type of release.     With an enthralling story, complex characters, interesting gameplay and gorgeous visuals and audio, The Last of Us Part II is probably one of the most polished videogame experiences out there and it’s pretty easy to give it a great score and call it a day

    I'm seeing all of the hate for this story and I'm genuinely perplexed. I was enthralled for nearly the entire game, despite the massive plot holes and sometimes meager exposition. Every performance was top notch, the actors did a wonderful job fleshing out their respective characters rendering them likeable and tangible.

The score is just as good as the first game. The combat is about the same as the first one and so is the scavenging. But what gives it such a low rating for me is that the story is just sloppy. Within the first hour of the game, Joel the character that you played in the first one and played countless hours of dies in such a cheap way to just give the game it’s existence. Revenge, that is the story, not saying that’s bad but revenge is literally the most original story you can do. Half of this game is played by Ellie whom who grow to dislike as the game progresses because of just how poorly she is written. She isn’t that jolly funny girl in the first game anymore she is just a boring non-charismatic person. Now I know that a lot can happen in the four years that have passed and they do show flashbacks as to why she is boring and etc. But they do it in a way that just doesn’t seem believable. The other half of the game is played by Joel’s killer Abby who honestly had better missions and character development than Ellie. The game just randomly switches to Abby and I thought that oh I wouldn’t be playing her long so for two hours I just was trying to get her done as fast as possible but it turns out that wasn’t the case. I didn’t like playing Abby at all. It was just such a drag that I just wanted to get it over with. At the end of Abby’s chapter three you have to fight Ellie who is the main protagonist of the game and who you loved and cared so much about in the first game. That to me was just so upsetting to people who loved the first game and grew to love Ellie. The end of the game is also just so unfulfilling I’m so many ways. Ellie goes all this way through all this trouble loses some friends and a father figure to only not kill Abby and just let her live. Now I now what they were going for revenge gets you nowhere, it’s not good for anybody but if you went through all the trouble and had so many of your close ones die you’d best be getting your revenge. The game kills off people in the game who you generally know and they do it so much and often that when someone dies it’s like (oh ok hm what else is new). The shock wasn’t there anymore it’s was just not surprising. This is the first game that I switched the difficulty to the easiest difficulty just to get it done and over with. It was just so frustrating playing this game waiting seven years from playing one of the greatest video games of all time to just being an utter disappointment. I enjoyed playing the game because I like the world of the last of us I like the different factions and the whole zombie apocalypse. I just would not buy this game at full price. If anything I’d say watch someone play it so you don’t have to waste any money. If I had to choose one word for this game it would disappointing.… Expand

I'm amazed with game play as well, the new elements for combat and not having a loading screen every time I change a map made me even more immersed. I thought it would be hard to like Abby, even tho she isn't my favorite, she have a place in my heart now as well!     Game is highly exaggerated by players for it being a bad game, why not complete the whole game to understand its plot points. That is the most fun I've had playing a single-player story mode. Pls try to complete the story, it has its unique story telling to keep you immersed and also is a long one. Fantastic job by naughty dog.

The gameplay is fine, nothing bad about it i have to say in particular, but i played this game for the story. The continuation of the first one. And this? It’s... it’s just not it chief.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
