    I have been playing all kinds of video games since I was 6, now I'm 25, and during this time, I genuinely haven't seen anything like this game. This game touches on concepts that have never been explored in a video game, and naughty dog deserves praise for that.     It is simply the best game of our generation. Not only for graphics and the gameplay but for the story behind this long and awesome trip that is the world of tlou. The most important thing in this game is the revenge and I think that ellie is the perfect character for this game

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game was supposed to be one of the most anticipated games ever. I'm sorry naughty dog but you've lost me and my wife as fans of yours. You may not care now but previous fans will think twice next time you create a game. The biggest problem I have is, besides Joel being killed almost immediately a long with just about everyone else, and fighting Ellie or playing most of the game as Abby, is the political environment you created. Why is a video game getting political?? Bad move. Most gamers are not interested in being force fed "gender equality" or being forced to watch two females have a relationship in a game. I'm guessing you received funding from some company that wanted that agenda pushed. Really bad move. I play games for the story and entertainment, not politics. I get enough of that from the awful media. What an amazing first game you created but this one has ruined the whole story, and I know you say you expected this and are ok with this, but are you really?… Expand

The direction the story goes is nonsensical and seems like something out of a bad fanfiction. Even in the end you dont get any sort of a payoff. It's funny that you just let the villain get away.     Buen juego, es triste, demasiado diria yo, pero eso no quiere decir que sea malo, es de los pocos juegos que nos hace sentir cosas, sean beunas o malas. Lo de mutilar a Ellie estuivo demasiado, aunque tiene su significado.

Forced chemistry between the two characters, and no payout in the end. In the first one, the storytelling, is what played major factor with this game, lots of emotions throughout, but this one I felt nothing. Giving it 2, because, the graphics are good, music is nice, gameplay is nice, but everything else.... not so much.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Imagine if Jack Marston tracks down Edgar Ross and instead of shooting him, he lets him go. That is the ending to this

    Other than the **** ending, the gameplay is quite fun. The Seraphites actually had me on my toes due to how they communicate, Shamblers are a fun enemy to fight, the Stalkers are actually pretty scary, and overall the enemies in this just feel better.

    The story starts off pretty strong, and you think to yourself “okay maybe this isn’t as bad as everyone says it is” and then Joel dies, and you see why everyone says the story is **** Along with that, the game has bad pacing issues in the beginning after Joel’s death. After Joel dies, absolutely NOTHING interesting happens for a good 2 **** hours. I was literally so **** bored for those 2 hours because all you do is just wander around Downtown Seattle with your horse finding some **** fuel for a generator. While most of the story is dog****, there are some high moments. The best moments are Ellie’s flashbacks with Joel, that is where it really feels just as amazing as the first one. Problem is, all those moments are spaced out between **** story moments.

    Most of the characters we know do some pretty stupid **** in this game. Like Tommy after talking with Ellie about the people responsible for Joel, he does a total 180 the next day and says “lock up Ellie if you have to, don’t let her come for me” not much is known about Tommy compared to Joel, but I am pretty **** sure that Tommy would instead go to Ellie’s house the next day ready and say **** this lets get these bastards”
    How **** cool would it be to have Tommy there with you, and he could act as a sort of voice of reason with Ellie once enough of the WLF are dead. She already has Dina to be her voice of reason, but it would be interesting to see Tommy just as bloodthirsty as Ellie and then say “they got what they deserved, we’re done here now and I’m fine with that” and Ellie refusing to let Abby get away with it. THAT would be interesting to see

    Now for Abby: I can see what they were going for, to make you say “she was wronged so she set out to resolve it” but it just does not work at all. It may work if there was more time spent with Abby before she kills Joel, like taking Abbys flashback with her dad and make that the beginning, that could make it a bit better. But in the game now, its just “oh this random ass person killed one of my favorite characters” and by the time it showed Abbys dad, it was already too far in the game for me to even give a **** Besides killing Joel, Abby is a pretty decent character. But I still did not give a single **** about any of her story parts because she is just introduced with killing Joel, which pissed me off immensely.

    As for the trans person, I’m fine with representation, but his entire character is “I’m trans and everybody wants to kill me because I’m trans” that is so **** lazy and I was extremely shocked how poorly that character was written

    I can’t recommend this game unless you are fully capable of turning your brain off and just enjoy the gameplay and visuals. Naughty Dog dropped a nuke on Nagasaki, and somebody needs to rewrite this because this story is unacceptable. Keep all the Ellie flashbacks and Abbys dad flashback, that was the only good Abby part. Make the trans person more than “I’m trans and everyone wants to kill me because I’m trans” take out the Abby gameplay segments, fix the pacing in the beginning of the game, and make the characters make rational decisions    … Expand

The game does what other games are afraid of, congratulations to the NaughtyDog for courage and unusual scenario. Graphics als always is beautiful. I can't wait for the multiplayer mode. It's still early, but I think that TLOU2 can be the game of the year. The music is great as usual. MyOmg, i LOVE the story, same as in the first part. This time is more hard and hard. Puedo entender la razón de porque a mucha gente no le gusto The Last of Us Parte II, ya que esta basado en un mundo crudo y realista, en donde tu personaje favorito puede cometer un pequeño error que le cueste la vida, pero tambien donde la muerte de cada personaje puede ser muy rapida, igual que en la vida real. Además del increible gameplay y graficos, este juego contiene, en mi opinion, una maravillosa historia en donde te muestran como Ellie llega a un punto donde tanto esfuerzo por cobrar venganza la agota y se ha dado cuenta que lo ha perdido todo. Un final mas acercado a la realidad dentro de un juego que sale de la historia tipica del heroe que logra ganarle a todo mal. Deja de lado todas las ideas que te hallan hecho de este juego y animate a probar una obra maestra más de Naughty Dog.… Expand

I won't give a higher score for game play, graphics, etc because those are to be expected as a natural part of development for this company. It'd be nothing more than a participation trophy. So my rating is based on the game as a whole. I don't know what happened here but you can feel the tug of war between the characters, world, and story. This amounted to plot holes and an overall feeling of detachment from the game/characters. It broke what I feel is taboo in story telling (though I know it's been done before) of killing a main character. Very sad effort. It also feels like things were being changed at late stages of production. The story here is just really poorly told. Sorry naughty dog but the final game really missed the mark. I won't be considering it part of the TLOU canon.… Expand

    Me gustó mucho, la historia va de acuerdo a lo que me esperaba. A pesar de los giros de trama, los acepto porque tienen coherencia en la trama. Los gráficos son hermosos, la jugabilidad es un pequeño paso adelante si has jugado el primer juego.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. El juego tiene mecánicas parecidas a la anterior entrega, pero añade la de poder agacharse y disparar estando recostado, lo que nos permitirá utilizar el sigilo de una forma diferente.
    A nivel de historia nos centraremos en la venganza por acciones que realizo Joel a lo largo de su vida por lo que tarde o temprano se vería algo así, el problema que hay es que existen demasiadas casualidades convenientemente para el desarrollo de la historia, aunque durante el transcurso del juego se nos van dando indicios y pistas de como llegamos a encontrar a Joel. A lo largo del juego tratan de crear empatía con Abby, la antagonista de la historia sin embargo al tratarse de una secuela muchos estarán del lado de Joel y Ellie, además la forma tan chocante en que presenta a Abby hace muy difícil que sintamos algo de simpatía por ella.
    Gráficamente se ve muy bien con paisajes y escenarios gigantescos para que podamos explorar durante un buen tiempo, lo malo que solo ocurre en un par de capítulos y después volveremos al sistema de pasillos en el que debemos seguir en un camino para llegar del punto A al punto B.
    Los personajes carecen del carisma que tenían Joel y Ellie en la primera entrega y se nos presentan una Ellie más adulta y pareciera que más amargada y enojada, olivémonos de frases como “cielos Joel” y esto lo notaremos en un capítulo en el que controlaremos a Ellie más joven con sus bromas hacia Joel y comentarios propios de alguien de 14 años.
    El desenlace de la historio le resta puntos a todo lo que hemos hecho y nos damos cuenta de que no es una historia de venganza sino del perdón y como podemos perlo todo por perseguir un fin tan ruin. Todo esto estaría bien si durante todo el juego no nos la pasemos matando personajes que no tuvieron mucho que ver con la historia de venganza, incluso que gracias a ellos Ellie sigue con vida y el personaje por quien empezamos nuestra masacre decidimos simplemente perdonarle la vida.    … Expand

    There is alot of hate, but I liked it even more then the first one. It was well writen , I think the main mistake was trying to fool everyone with trailers. But nevertheless this hame is one of the best i ever played. The ending was heavy but very fitting.

For 15 hours (10 played as abby give or take) you play as Ellie as you are murdering your way with 1 objective in mind , got to kill Abby for killing Joel. This is a revenge story that doesn't happen. And when you get there the game won't even let you decide if you can or not you're just stuck watching a cutscene that totally negates the entire 15 hours you just went throught. It's bad , really bad. The story is a joke , the characters are 100% badly portrayed , most of them makes no sense , you are forced to play the BBEG for a good chunk of the game . I litterally sat there and watched her die over and over again just for what she did to joel. Oh and Mr. Drukman inserting yourself in the game as the "love interest" of Abby combined with that 1 scene is really REALLY creepy. I give them 1 because i don't believe 0 exists.     This game took a lot of risks with what it shows and I can understand that a lot of people who don't expect this type of story out of a game would not like it, but the rush reviews of complete zeroes right out the gate for this game is completely undeserved. While I do find the story to have some problems, everything else in the game brings it to a solid 8 for me.

    Okay this game has gotten too much hate, the story is disappointing in the beginning but the end message puts it all together, I can understand why some people wouldn’t like this game but many things have been improved, the combat is much better than the first game with the new added dodge button and the graphics are possibly one of the best I’ve seen on ps4.     Es una obra maestra que no todo el mundo va a saber apreciar. Visualmente hay un trabajo excelente por parte del equipo, con una jugabilidad, historia, arte, música y sonido más que sobresaliente. No entiendo las notas negativas sobre este juego, pero cada uno tiene sus gustos. Espero que se creen muchos más juegos a este nivel.

    I love the fact that the game, Naughty Dog, specifically, choose two lesbian protagonists that hardly ever never featured in most AAA games. Kudos to ND for doing what’s right. The gameplay is cleaner than Part 1. I can’t wait for multiplayer. I love both games, but this recent installment makes me love it even more. First of you are going to kill off a main and WELL beloved character you need to send them off with some type of respect at least. The way of Joel being killed and the dialogue leading up to it felt off. Then after having Ellie witnessing it and not getting some sort of revenge at the was very pathetic. They could have at least Abby fight just enough to get away, thus having Ellie swear for revenge would have even better than what we got.

    If one is to get this game, get it pre owned at least when it falls flat on price. There was only a few good moments and scences that you really got to take in and enjoy. How ever flash backs are a lazy way of doing it.    … Expand

After finishing the game last night after 25 or so hours , my conclusion is that the world of the last of us created in this game is second to none, the graphics and visuals are most likely the best we will see in this console generation and the developers should at least pride themselves for knowing that, on their side, they created a game that improves on part one in every single way.... but then there’s the story. I knew about some of the leaks coming into the game, but I was determined to beleive that a full games worth of context would let me gauge my own opinion and hope it would be a positive one... but I’m sad to say that I beleive our beloved characters were sacrificed, to enforce the themes of hate and revenge and how it ultimately will lead to your own demise, forcing the characters to make severely uncharacteristic throughout, so it can find it’s way to force this message down your throat. I feel like their were elements of the story, mostly the flashbacks, that were genuinely beautiful to watch, so I can’t help but think that they had the ingredients to make a serviceable part two, but instead chose to further clamp down on its heavy message, sacrificing characters logic from the first game and force you to watch all of your favourite characters steadily decline to the point where there is nothing left, and by the games credits, I felt numb knowing that Ellie ultimately leaves with nothing... even her memory of Joel and the legacy she could have carries on, while also knowing that the antagonist gets to sail away with a renewed sense of hope and purpose in finding her community again. In a way I feel attacked for loving these characters, and it’s like I’m being punished for it. In conclusion, if your favourite part about this franchise is Joel and Ellie, then although this game is incredibly beautiful with a moody, second to none atmosphere.... you will end up with your heart broken knowing where their Stories end up ... and mislead by the fact that you play as the antagonist for literally half the game. I think I’m going to take the good parts of this game and theorise my own ending that the characters actually deserve to have.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This review contains a great deal of spoilers. Read it at your own caution. I will try to not specifically spoil things in particular with particular detail, but I will give a rough outline of the way the story is structured.

    My problem with the Last of Us 2 is not in Ellie being a lesbian or Dina being bisexual or in Lev being a transman. I found the area of Seattle with Pride flags to be, well, pretty normal considering it's Seattle. I found the fact that the two women in a lesbian relationship not understanding "what's with all the rainbows" was self-aware, funny, and a moment of levity. The little novel you can find in the bookstore that is lesbian erotic has a description on the back that is self-aware and humorous and makes fun of cliches about college lesbian experiences. These things are done just fine and I don't particularly feel any way about them in particular. Whether or not you care about these things... they're mostly minor. Mostly. Except for one character's backstory, though that character's backstory is never forced down your throat and I feel they could have even been more subtle with it.

    My problem is how the game treats revenge, Ellie, Joel, and the player, as well as the order of events.

    The game is broken into 4 main sections. The intro, two main halves, and the conclusion. Sort of like an essay, almost. The problem is that something that happens in the introduction involving a major character death has almost zero context and had I gone into the game completely unspoiled, I'd have been outraged at this death. This major character is a survivor. Someone hardened and wizened to the cruelty of the world. This character saves someone from danger and in return, when they reach safety, this major character introduces themselves plainly without any paranoia and with full trust while at the mercy of other people. This major character should not have done this and it is completely out of their character. They are then promptly killed. With the context as to why, it makes sense. But the game does not supply this context until more than halfway through the game.

    In Ellie's section of gameplay, we get flashbacks of her growing up with Joel after they've settled in Jackson. Their relationship develops, and in the final flashback from her half of the game, her relationship with Joel becomes incredibly rocky. We do not see how her relationship with Joel stands at the start of the game until we get cutscenes from the night before the start of the game.

    The game should begin like so for a more clear and understandable setup. We would see flashbacks for the character who kills a major character to understand their motivation. Then we see Ellie growing up some. Then we alternate between flashbacks for Ellie and the killer so as to understand how they've grown and changed and become who they are. Then we start the game and lead up to the major character death. This would make things so much more understandable on both sides and a lot more straightforward instead of contrived and feeling very retcon-y.

    The killer's gameplay sections are interesting much like Ellie's and the relationships that they develop along the way are fine on their own. I found them a bit lacking compared to the dialogue between Ellie and Dina and Jesse, but I also found them more than serviceable and had little issue with that.

    This final paragraph contains a LOT of spoilers. You are warned. All I will say now is that the conclusion of the game is unsatisfying and horribly written.

    Ellie does not kill Joel's killer. She is about to kill her and spares her. Ellie returns home and Dina has left her and taken her baby with her. Ellie has lost everything. Instead of making this a chance to contemplate whether or not Ellie killing Abby was worth it if it cost her everything, she doesn't get revenge for Joel at all, and Abby escapes off to Catalina Island with no consequences for her actions. Joel had consequences for what he did, I don't deny that. But Ellie was justified in wanting to kill Abby. The game does try to make things morally gray, but it does so very poorly. And I found myself suffering fatigue from the story after a while. It was dragged on for so long. It felt unnecessary in many places. It sheds the best parts of the first game and how its characters interacted and it did so for a revenge story, which can be amazing (Kill Bill, Django Unchained, etc.) but the opportunity was squandered and the game is unsatisfying.

    A rogue group of Firefly remnants kidnapping Ellie and Joel trying to save her would have been a better story. Or just even having Ellie kill Abby would have made the game much better, sincerely speaking. I wanted to enjoy this game. I wanted it so badly. But I barely enjoyed anything in it apart from the somewhat improved combat and the beautiful scenery.    … Expand

El problema no es que sea lesbiana (eso ya se sabia desde el primer juego), el problema es que le dan mas importancia a ser diversos e inclusivos que a dar una historia mejor que la del primer juego.

The hours I spent finding parts could have easily been cut in half if this game followed any kind of progression logic like the first game. Your ingame partner, whoever it is as its constantly changing between Joel and Dina and whatever other unimportant crew of side characters, is never challenging you as Ellie did in the first game. You don't have to worry about escorting them through the terrain as they brainlessly follow you around, climb and jump and talk mechanically about their past, all the while you'll be wishing you could push them off a ledge for some peace and quiet. An absolute joke compared to the first game where your companion was more than a ladder climbing npc. I haven't even touched upon the biggest oopsie, which is trying to fit two narratives into one title. The constant flipping of perspective will give you backlash and - honestly- I felt pretty disrespected throughout the entire thing. By the end credits, I had a slight sense of what the writers were trying to achieve, but did that warrant an entire game? Couldn't all of that been established in the first 2 hours of game play? How on earth did I just spend 6 ingame days playing as two different characters just to reach a conclusion that could have happened upon their first meeting? Come on, what a joke. The whole game is a joke. At any moment someone will find an easteregg cutscene that explains the story was all a bad dream and Ellie didn't just spend a week chasing the mailman. The only joy this game brought me was finishing it and knowing I never have to play it ever again.… Expand

This game is entitled The Last Of Us: Part II, implying its the second part of The Last Of Us, the 2013 game that tells the story of Joel and Ellie. I bought this to play as Ellie, with Ellie, to suffer with her, to laugh with her, to have my heart pumping with her. Представьте, у Вас есть любимый герой из предыдущей части новой игры, один из самых харизматичных мужчин в игровой истории, которого забивает с особой жестокостью насмерть клюшкой от гольфа накаченная стероидами фемина без особо различимых половых признаков. Клюшкой от гольфа, в деталях. Клюжкой. От гольфа. Символично, посыл понят. И после всего этого - целую вторую половину игры мы играем за эту няшечку. Гениальный подход и почва для ненависти. Спасибо директору проекта за то, что концептуально и сюжетно серию The Last of Us похоронили за бетонным плинтусом. Отличное подтверждение тому, что ультралевые взгляды рушат абсолютно все, к чему они только прикладывают свои ручки. И нет, господин Дракманн, я не расист, не сексист, но на Вашу пропаганду возможно смотреть только с вилками в глазах. И, да, в игре есть не повестка, а именно пропаганда. Постапокалиптический мир ведь идеальная среда для обсуждения таких тем как: однополые отношения, шовинизм, половое неравенство и трансгендерность. Fallout от маня-мира господина Дракманна.
    Видно, что игру делали через кровь и пот все сотрудники Naughty Dog. Играя на PS4 Slim невольно задумываешься, какой талант нужно иметь, чтобы такую малютку заставить выдавать такую сочную и насыщенную картинку. Низкий Вам поклон.

    Очень жаль, что такое амбициозный проект был задушен его же создателем.
    Как говорил Джоэл, мне бы хотелось, чтобы все было иначе, но это не так.

The only reason I give it a 9/10 Instead of a 10 is because of the last 2ish hours, where you leave Dina and JJ and go back for your last chance at revenge. I get why Ellie did it, she needed to reach that point of full on revenge to realize that it would bring nothing but more suffering and sadness. I just wish she would have stayed with baby momma lol. It showed that the people in this world were all dealing with the same struggles as each other. Its a post apocalyptic world, did people really think Joel wouldn't die? He killed a hospital full of fireflies in pt.1 and no one that there would be repercussions? Lol I loved the first one so much and I think I loved this one just as much. I didn't like playing as Abby at first, especially the first like hour or so, but by the end I saw her and Ellie as equals. Everyone in this world is fighting for something, and the mirroring of their stories was done perfectly. I don't want a 3rd game though lol this ended perfectly. I'm happy with the game and that's all that matters to me.… Expand

    Incredible game from start to finish, a real emotional roller coaster with so many underlying messages. The visuals are insane and the gameplay mechanics are even better than the last. A must play and a real contender for game of the year.

Fiquei um dia sem tirar esse jogo da cabeça depois que eu terminei, e não por um motivo ruim, mas porque ele me fez sentir coisas que eu nunca tinha sentido (ou pelo menos não nessa intensidade) e que até agora eu ainda acho difícil explicar. Não é o jogo que eu queria. Definitivamente não. Mas é o jogo que eu precisava. É o jogo que o mundo precisa entender nesse momento que estamos vivendo. E é um jogo que está escancarando quem nós somos por dentro, e isso às vezes não é bonito de se ver. Talvez por isso muita gente não esteja gostando, não sei. Talvez por isso eu tenha relutado de início. É quase um experimento social. Ele te força a desenvolver empatia e aceitar que você não é o centro do universo, e que ações ruins têm consequências ruins. Para todo mundo. Mas as pessoas são egoístas, eu incluso, então claro que muitos não iriam gostar. A meu ver, a Naughty Dog sabia disso, e mesmo assim se arriscou para passar a mensagem incrível que eles queriam passar com esse jogo. Para mim, a pior parte do jogo está sendo ver como algumas das pessoas que estão reagindo negativamente simplesmente não querem entender essa mensagem. Essa é a lição que eu tiro do jogo, no fim das contas: a humanidade é podre porque se recusa a entender que o outro é você e você é o outro, assim como todas as consequências dessa afirmação.
    Se o primeiro é 10, esse é 9 só por um motivo. Joel merecia ter tido mais tempo de tela (e de gameplay) e ter sido mais respeitado. Não tenho nada contra a forma como ele morreu nem com ele ter morrido no início do jogo, mas a cena da morte dele ainda é muito estranha de assistir. Realmente foi mal roteirizada, ele parece outro personagem. Ah, sem contar a propaganda enganosa da Naughty Dog, mas aí já não diz respeito ao jogo em si.     Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
