    I hurts to see a game made by Naughty Dog end up like this especially coming from a huge fan of theirs. The last of us part 1 was amazing and Uncharted is my favorite gaming franchise of all time so to see it end up like this hurt me so much I created a meta critic account to give it a rating. If you played the first one for the love of God do not play part 2. It'll ruin the work of artI hurts to see a game made by Naughty Dog end up like this especially coming from a huge fan of theirs.     I literally waited to play this game from the moment i heard it was in the making. And boy am i not impressed, in every possible way this game is a nightmare from its original self. The the worst part is getting rid of beloved characters to replace them with a bunch of lgbt ones for no reason.

    El juego tiene gráficos y sonido increíble, de lo mejor que he visto a la fecha, acompañado de una historia y jugabiliadad brutal, los personajes están muy bien desarrollados, de verdad que deja con la boca abierta en más de una ocasión, un juego crudo y sangriento. Simplemente un juego majestuoso como ya es costumbre en Naugthy Dog.

    TL;DR: I stayed loyal to Naughty Dog and got burned. Don’t make my mistake and stick to the Let’s plays unless you are a die hard fan. What “professional” reviewers don’t understand is that it doesn’t matter how crisp the visuals are and how good the game play is because the story is incredibly disappointing... Its a shame because the gameplay is incredible and I’ll play this game againTL;DR: I stayed loyal to Naughty Dog and got burned.     Honestly I’m just heartbroken, there’s so much that could have been here but just wasn’t. As a queer woman, the representation didn’t bother me in the slightest and if anything I embraced it. But that is absolutely not what the vast majority of us are upset about, it’s everything else. The only moments that I was genuinely invested in were the flashbacks, and I do think that’s all the gameHonestly I’m just heartbroken, there’s so much that could have been here but just wasn’t. It just feels like they were trying to turn The Last of Us into something it just wasn’t, and they strayed so far away from everything that made us love the first game.

    I went into this game with completely open eyes. I didn’t see a single spoiler, thought the people who had seen the spoilers were overreacting and needed more context, was keeping a completely open mind, and had this blind faith in Naughty Dog because I genuinely believed that this would be the last studio that would screw up a story. I’m just completely devastated because of what could have been. Through the game you could see moments of it, but they’re the subplots, not the main one. The only character I felt invested in or even just found interesting was Dina, and personally I just couldn’t get enough of her. But as someone who grew up with Ellie, was a similar age and really just related to Ellie, the fact that she wasn’t on the forefront of my mind throughout this game was a big miss, and it just feels like to me that they butchered her character for the sake of a message. On top of that, it felt like they were trying to hard to compare (insert name here)‘s story to Ellie’s, and it just didn’t feel natural. Whilst I could see what they were going for, they just couldn’t pull it together, with an ending that just made me ask the question ‘what were they trying to do here ?’

    My only hope for the future is that Naughty Dog can learn from this, because I honestly think it’d kill me to see this happen to Uncharted, another series I love so freaking much. The main problem they need to learn from in my opinion is that you can’t build a story around a message you want to convey, it’s the other way around. I’m still going to support them because this (for me, at least) will be the only blip on their record of fantastic games, and I do really look forward to seeing the stories of Chloe, Sam, Nadine and even Sully continue on. I do, however, think they need to leave The Last of Us alone for the sake of their fans. TL;DR: The Last of Us: Part 2 gives me the same feeling as season 8 of Game of Thrones all over again. Everything about it is perfection EXCEPT the story, which given the fact it’s a Naughty Dog game of all studios, shouldn’t be the case. And like season 8 of Game of Thrones, part of me wants to just forget it existed in order to restore the legacy of the original seasons/story    … Expand

    No vale la pena , como gran fan de la primera parte me desepciono bastante, me da mucha rabia y siento que la espera no valió, lo que lo hacía un gran videojuego era la historia puede estar muy bien en otros aspectos pero por qué dejar una historia tan básica? The game is perfect, if there's something you would hate is Ellie being lesbian, maybe bi, and playing half the game as, but the game is really perfect. The only thing that i don't understand is Joel's death by the start of the game and my ps4 producing that video quality, the graphics are amazing.
    As I'm playing looting and crafting the only thing that was in my mind is BATTLE ROYAL, this game will be more successful than any of the others because that's what the game is : a survival game.
    I really wish that players put their true ratings because there is no way this game can have less than 9.5    … Expand

Quem jogou o 1 e a expansão da historia da ellie entrou na pele dos personagens. É como se você se tornasse o Joel e a Ellie. Quando a galera vai jogar o 2 eles querem que a narrativa continue assim. Queriamos(pelo menos eu) ser a Ellie(ja tava na cara que ia dar merda pro joel e era vez da Ellie ser jogavel) mas daí o que eles fazem? Fazem tu entrar na pele da "antagonista" e mostrar que ela é uma boa pessoa apesar de ter feito aquilo que fez. Mano quando tu joga tu se torna o personagem eu não iria querer saber da história de ninguém que matou alguém que eu gosto. Iria direto para retaliação. Fizeram uma história "bonita" mas poderia ser outro jogo só da Abby depois para o povo ver os dois lados com calma. Mas não enfiaram na guela do jogador que ele teria que ver os dois lados e nem teria um momento de escolha. Espero que entendam isso ao invés de simplesmente acharem que sou caixista(nunca tive xbox sempre tive PS), homofobico ou imaturo. A parada é simples o povo queria jogar com a Ellie encarnar ela ou no máximo o Joel. Tudo bem a Abby querer a vingança dela mas deveria ser em um jogo individual. Tudo ficou muito misturado. Uma hora tu é a Ellie outra a Abby... não tinha como. Não é questão de ter final feliz é questão de consistência. Isso funciona em filmes e séries pq você não controla ninguém. On the other hand, I didn’t enjoy the story. At all...if I had paid full price for this game I would have definitely felt like druckman was ramming his dry bird up my arse too.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Where to begin, let's get the obvious out of the way first they killed Joel whoever came up with that suggestion in the meeting at naughty dog needs to be fired anyone who agreed needs to be fired.

    Then they go on and treat his death like we hadn't already played a previous game for 30+ hours or more depending on how many times you played through the first game. By making him out to be a bad guy for what he did.

    That's lazy writing because the reason this Abby character kills Joel is because her dad was one of the doctors that was going to kill Ellie in the first game.
    Naughty dog can't punish you for a choice that you had to make in the first game which everyone was in board with by the way cause eveyione fell in love with Joel and Ellie relationship and then in this game it punishes you by killing Joel. Like that is bad writing we are being punished for something we had no choice against.

    The game makes you sit through half the run time playing as Abby helping her friends out when you already have seen playing as Ellie that they all die anyway so why would we feel any suspense when we are going around with them we know there not going to die because we know how they die, there is just no reason. In to why we would feel the need to invest ourselves in her story arc.

    Naughty dog shows you what happens then makes you play the scenes leading up to it however these "scenes go on for half the game" it was such a waste of time.

    Also the final nail in the coffin for me was when the game forces you to beat up Ellie to near death as Abby WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO DO That Ellie is not the bad guy why are we being forced to play as this unlike ale terrible and horrible person.

    This review is all over the place and pretty much a rant so I know I've missed out a lot of things it would take forever to pick this game apart and why it was the biggest let down ever and how it has single handndley ruined and entire franchise for me I can't even play the first one anymore because naughty dog has destroyed this story so much. It pains me because I use to love these characters or at least Joel and Ellie but know ones dead and the other one destroyed I just can't with this game franchise anymore congratulations naughty dog you have killed one of your most popular franchises absolutely disgraceful.    … Expand

    La neta, todo lo que es gráficos, jugabilidad, soundtrack, es perfecto, pero la historia falló mucho, la verdad el final fue tan triste y depresivo que me dejó muy agridulce, por ejemplo, la manera en que perdona a abby se me hizo tan patética, yo creo que una buena manera d e haber terminado el juego hubiera sido que la eleccion de matarla fuera del que está jugando.

    After waiting over 5 years and a wonderfull part 1, I expected this game to be at least a 7,5/10. But after only a few hours, i realized that the story isn't nearly as good and coherent as the first one was. If i am objectively this game is a 4/10 but subjectivly i can only give it a 1,5/10 because my expectations were so high.

You call this review bombing but the truth is just that most people who usually don't give a darn about leaving a review are so pissed at such a bad experiences that we feel like we have to. Anger is an effective method to get people off their asses.

You call this review bombing but the truth is just that most people who usually don't give a darn about leaving a review are so pissed at such a bad experiences that we feel like we have to. Anger is an effective method to get people off their asses.

Waste of potential on the graphics, but we all know how they got that by crunching their graphic developers to half dead, so not exactly something to brag about. This game is a movie experience, you had one job (writing something people wanna see) and you failed it ND.

    If Sony doesn't reign in this kind of crappy attitude from their western HQ and studios i'm reconsidering buying a PS 5 at all. Def not buying on release anymore (i got all the PS consoles and handheld). Everything get released on PC anyway.

    If ND go bankrupt over this, Sony better not shift this hack Director to their other 1st party studios where he can pollutes other games, like GOW.    … Expand

    Just finished this game, and I am really not sure why people are defending it as much as they are. The characters have no depth. the story is a jumbled up mess that has you dying to care about the characters in the game, but never achieving that. The writing is terrible and it is easy to see that naughty dog has lost several key creative minds since they released part 1 of this game. I am heartbroken they took such a fantastic story and spit right in its face along with all the fans that held the game near and dear coming into this one. I will give it a 1 because there were only a few bugs which is sustainable. Terribly upset this game exists.… Expand

The combat and traversal have improved from the original game but the story and plot have left me with the most disappointing video games I have ever played.     The good. The graphics are beautiful and probably the best I've seen on console so far. The attention to detail is absurd. The bad. The story is weak at the best of times and cruel and vulgar at it's worst. It's almost as if ND is mocking the player for feeling connected to Ellie and Joel. Plus the sex scene. Neil you're a gross weirdo.

I have to say after hearing about the spoilers, I decided not to buy the game and watched the whole game on stream. So i can't say much about how the game plays. It was pretty standard naughty dog game-play. Not great, not bad. The graphics are probably one of the best for PS4. Also the soundtrack seems great again.

    But that all means nothing if the Story cant support the rest of the game.
    What it all comes down to, is that fans of the first game got a kick in the balls. Or to be more literal, a golf club to the face. For me it was long long before the leaks clear, that Joel would die. The fact that Joel would die isn't even the matter. The Problem is how he dies.
    The biggest part of why the first game was so great, is the character progression between Ellie and Joel. As close as those two persons became in the end, as attached we became as players to these characters. So for one of these characters to die, there has to be meaning behind this death.
    Joel dies such a meaningless death only to set Ellie on a revenge mission which doesn't even end with any satisfactory conclusion.
    Why not let Joel life until the end, to sacrifice himself to help Ellie survive? That would be a fine conclusion to both games. Instead they make Joel look like an Idiot and just killed him off.

The hard work of the people who worked on it can be seen and I commend them for that. If this game were about graphics and the such in which the plot takes a second place like a call of duty or a multiplayer all would be alright but sadly that isn't the case for a game whose main selling point is the story I feel the choices they made weren't the best. There are some interesting things in the game which build and expand some things from the previous one but they are so little and so in between that is hard to enjoy them. This game was advertised as a story about revenge and sadly it doesn't even fulfill that while there is some of it through the game that idea is half abandoned and then sloppy bring back at the end to the point it doesn't make sense anymore. I think that they would had a better result just exploring how life is now in a world with no cure and how after all this time people are trying to survive which in my opinion is the most interesting of the game. Seeing how cults and gangs are now being formed how even when rebuilding has begun people still seems to devolve into beings that are as bad as monsters. How things are worse instead of improving. I think that a story like that would had been better for this game. I may be wrong but I wanted to at least offer a suggestion. While pointing out my dissapointment… Expand

They took a beloved character and spat on the legacy of good apocalyptic game writing. Joel reminds us and myself of a good dad, that we may not have in reality or maybe we do, that gets killed off by a mentally ill person with no regard for life. Joel saved Abby, gave her a chance. She abused the power she was given and in return Ellie let her live. This is garbage. The self inserted sex scene and the spitting on Joels grave reflects on Neil Druckmann's fetishes and disregard for fans and to those who see the bond between Joel and Ellie as father and daughter. At the beginning of the Last of Us pt1 Joel lost his daughter and throughout the game he gained that bond back with Ellie. TO RUIN A PERFECT OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW HOW THEIR BOND GREW IS A WASTE! THEY DIDN'T EVEN GIVE HIM AN HONORABLE DEATH, THEY TORTURED HIM!! **** this game, is boring and id rather play a wattpad fanfiction video game adaptation. A good story doesn't deserve a bad sequel.

    I'd give awards to the artists, not the writers the writers/directors deserve nothing imo. Gameplay you will have some exciting running scenes/fighting, some nice action on occasion.. Will you like this game? probably not. You will feel bummed out more than you will feel the feeling of fun, they didn't add much new gameplay mechanics from the 1st game. Games are made for entertainment and story, this fails on both and that for most people.
