    Let me start off by saying I love the last of us part 1. It's my favorite game of all time. I wasn't a big fan of the DLC because I feel like an agenda was being forced and pushed in my face. Going into this game I was trying to have an open mind. I didn't mind ellie being gay so much. It bothered me in the DLC because she was like your daughter and I never once questioned her sexuality orLet me start off by saying I love the last of us part 1. It's my favorite game of all time. I didn't really have a problem with ellie being gay in this game seeing as she is much older and I don't feel like naughty dog really pushed it too hard. i feel like it flowed naturally and it wasn't just shoved down my throat. I think when they introduced the trans kid things were a little too much there. It was definitely forced and an obvious agenda was at play. I was kinda confused when I first saw abby but after learning about her background I understood her character. The graphics in this game were incredible. I also loved the gameplay. The main things I absolutely hated about this game was the ending. I think if i played this and didn't look at the leaks I would have hated it more when Joel died. I guess I kinda just accepted it before the game came out so i lived with it seeing as I preordered the game. Once the game panned over to Abby after the Theatre encounter I couldn't wait to hurry through and see what happens next. Let me tell u it feels like this game NEVER ends and in the worst way possible, but you keep playing to find out. Only to be F'ed over so hard with the ending its so unreal. The ending was so bad it has potentially made me not even want to buy a ps5 next gen and that says ALOT. I mostly buy playstation to experience games from naughty dog like uncharted last of us and FF7 remake is big on my upcoming games, but after seeing how sony and naughtydog treated this whole situation I think I might go rock out on some Halo next year. I would like to at least give this game a 5 for graphics because those developers deserve a well 10/10 for that, but this director has F'ed this game up so bad I have to rate a 0 and try to give it the lowest overall score as possible so maybe decisions can be made to better the brand.… Expand

    The Last of Us is all about the story. It is made to let it feel cinematic. Part II doesn't disappoint in that regard. The story really feels like a poor made low budget B-movie. Doktor Uckmann unfortunately puts a lot of ethical propaganda elements in "his" game that doesn't make sense and add nothing to story. Story 3/10. Gameplay 7/10. Graphics 8/10. Overall 0. Big disappointment.

    I would rather prefer an underwhelming ending where it should have lots of potential where you can provide constructive criticism than witnessing pretentious writing that makes you want to tear it apart. 2013 Dunkey warned us all along.

    I think the first game will forever hold a place in my heart and definetly feel let down by the second. This is certainly not the direction I would of liked to see the story go.     Well, now on the second game, the father figure who is an expert survivor, behaved idiotically, clubbed to death by a lesbian, then you play the lesbian for hours. A really forced lgbt agenda there, and that's not even the worst part. If you want to know more, find some spoers online.

    Made you wonder how much the devs paid the reviewers to get this high ratings.

The world is beautiful and the acting with its characters able to be seen as different. Now here's the painful truth. Naughty Dog wanted to give us a bittersweet story but the bitter leaves you a disgusting taste. Last of us 1 gave us hope and the idea that humans are complex. Y con un montón de drama entre personajes que nadie le importan, y además, pisoteando a los personajes más queridos. Nada tuvo sentido. TODO EL VIAJE FUE UN DESPERDICIO.

    The story is horrible. Annoying false advertisement (character you are avenging for is so predictable they have to lie to you). "Play half of the game for the character you want to kill" move does not work at all.
    Waste of time and money.

I'm not gonna hint what happens, but there is a very painful moment that happens near the beginning of the game. If you loved the first game, it'll definitely put a sour taste in your mouth for months. That's all I'm gonna say about that, I just really don't want to think about it. Like seriously, what were the writers thinking. You'd have to be brain dead to think people would be fine with it.

    Now the characters. I never had an issue with the new Ellie really, I know many other people did but other than her issue with a bigot sandwich, her agenda wasn't too eye rolling for me. But all the new characters are throw aways. None of them were well written, or at least written to be enjoyable to play as or watch.

    I can't really say anything else without spoiling stuff, just don't play this game. The atmosphere is amazing, the combat is fun and usually doesn't get stale which is why this isn't a 1 out of 10. But if you're a fan of the first game, I beg you not to even look at this game. It'll ruin your faith in humanity, and not for the right reasons like Come and See.    … Expand

    Excellent technical solutions. The game uses all the resources of the PS4 to the full. The graphics are almost perfect. If you don't look closely. Cyclical movement of grass, cyclical ripples. But still, the PS4 imposes a restriction, so this is excusable.
    The gameplay remains the same, new mechanics make it more exciting, but it is still the same as in the first part. The gameplay was not the most important in this game, but the main story and characters. That's where the problems start.
    The whole message of the game is so superficial, so petty, that it does not cause emotions, sympathy or empathy for these single-celled heroes. In the first game, you empathize with Joel and Ellie. They develop, find common ground, become close. In the second part, this completely disappears. Their experiences just start to irritate with their idiocy. The only thing that causes emotion is Joel's stupid death. Then the meaning is simply lost in these petty experiences, faceless and flat characters. The end of the game... I should have tried to think of something dumber. It is clear that any killer has feelings, life... So let's forgive EVERYONE now. What kind of limited morality?!
    I don't understand why there are so many AI dithyrambs? He's terribly stupid. Locations where there are hostile people, pass sitting in one corner, killing one, the rest resort to it. And you take turns shooting them in the head. Very interesting, that's sarcasm. It's cool of course that they react with screams to the death of their partners, but it doesn't touch. Since after 2 seconds, the one who is grieving also dies from a shot in the head.
    If the plot was interesting, it could be forgiven... But the game has outdated gameplay and no interesting story. This is not what we expected. Perhaps if you do not pass for 3 days before the release of the second part of the first, it is not so striking, but this is a weak excuse for the game that was waiting for 7 years. Complete disappointment.
    I think the game is adequate to the assessment of 6/10. This is very sad as was expecting a masterpiece and got podelco.

They force us to play a trans/ really manly disgusting girl character, they let Joel be killed in the first 2 hours, in a way that‘s just disgusting. The pretty much only main character that‘s straight and white gets killed by a transsexual in a brutal disgusting way. Nice Naughty Dog.… Expand

They basically ruined one of the best stories of videogames, and probably one of the best games I've ever played in my life. Abby is so masculine that people thought she was transsexual but i guess in an apocalypse where food is scarce Abby can just be hulk and her character is even worse, naughty dog tries first to make Abby look good and then they make us absolutely hate her and then she becomes the "good guy" and the game tries to make Ellie and Joel look like the villain which is really stupid. TLDR The graphics are not insane but they don't hurt to look at. the game play is boring because you don't really have a reason to play since the story is an absolute dumpster fire and the ending doesn't leave you asking for more but instead it feels like a terrible fan fiction.     First hour starts off slow, and took a bit to really gain some momentum, but when it finally gets going...boy does it ever!! Great sequel, still one of the best games to experience ever.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So 1/10 to be VERY generous, and here's why. With Minor Spoiler in what I say. Also, I quite frankly pity those ppl that spent Hundreds of dollars on the huge box, because I'll be honest Naughty Dogs ripped of us on this game.

    First off I'm beyond pissed at Naughty Dogs to have spoiled the entire storyline in the very second trailer of the game about a year ago. Other than the 2 trailers I steered clear of all and any LoU2 info to make sure that nothing would be spoiled, and yet within 1 hr of play I knew the entire story...

    Second I go nothing of what was promised to me. For more than half the game have to play as Abby, a person that the devs are trying to make "human" or endearing towards the player, while I couldn't give 2 **** about her, just because of the brutality and unfair justification that her "target" "got what he deserved, altho he deserved more..." Who gives a **** about her... and then, to add insult to injury, the devs want to me to kill Ellie using Abby. A R E T H E Y O U T O F T H E I R F U C K I N G M I N D S !!!!!!

    Also (and it's hilarious even in the synopsis here it still says so) the story happens 4 years AFTER Salt Lake City, NOT 5. The game itself hammers that point home very often and from the very get-go of the story.

    I loved the first game, and Ellie was a big part of it, the only issue I had with the first game was, that I didn't play long enough as Ellie. That's why I was sooooooo excited when this one was announced, "Yay I'll play the whole game as Ellie" I thought to myself... And then, I start the game, I'm Joel, then Ellie for like 5 min, then I'm Abby for longer than I was on Ellie, then Ellie again for a few dozen mins, then Abby again for as long as I was on Ellie... And by that point, I knew the entire plot... Nothing unknown left to discover, some plot-based questions raised by the story development that I'm trying to piece together and unravel, nothing like that, just a big ol' "yeah Abby and her friends are those ppl that are looking for this guy to kill him, and he we got to avenge him..."

    Another minor thing, Ellie felt different in this one. It felt to me like she lost some of her sassiness and spunk that she had in the first game, 2 elements that are among the reasons I fell in love in with her in the first place.

    The pacing of the story is also abysmal. Especially when you are forced to play as someone you don't even want to play, then the amount of flashback for both Ellie and Abby makes it worst. And the ending.. OMFHG! Worst possible ending. I hope this game soooo many negative reviews and bombs (in a negative way) so much that Naughty dogs NEVER wants to announce a 3rd title... because its the only obvious possible reason for THAT specific ending they gave us. Its even more open-ended or sequel oriented ended than Horizon Zero Dawn ever was.

    And to think that the announcement of this title is the only reason I bought a ps4 for... what a waste of money...    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Mechanically and technically, this game is good, with beautiful graphics and smooth gameplay. But that doesn't make the game good standalone. The story is forced and poorly written. It is not the concept of Joel's death that boggles my mind, but more the fashion in which he dies. An amazing well thought out character with the most dishonorable death one can imagine. Ellie's personality pulls a complete 180 and now apparently is the antagonist. You must play as Abby for nearly half of the game despite the game supposedly being from Ellie's point of view, and Naughty Dog forces you to "sympathize" with Abby via a load of forced cutscenes that attempt to make the player feel for Abby. The ending is ridiculous in how Ellie has one flashback of Joel and decides to forgive Abby for everything despite killing many to reach Abby and losing two fingers in the process. That alongside the fact that Joel, by no means, was a pacifist, so a vision of Joel should only make Ellie's want for revenge stronger. Further, on Joel's death, Joel survived in this world for nearly 26 years, he would know not to reveal all of his information to a couple of strangers that he just met. Joel is the man that ran over a man pretending to be hurt because he knew it was an ambush. He also is the man that left a family on the side of the road in the VERY beginning of the outbreak, so Joel has no reason to give away all that he did. With all of that, the game gets worse with the obvious political agenda that ND and Druckmann have going on with this game. For example, during the party, after Dina and Ellie kissed, Seth called them a not so nice word, the next day, he made them sandwiches and genuinely seemed sorry, but Ellie was not forgiving, claiming that he is a "bigot", yet Ellie forgives Abby, a murderer because she had a flashback of Joel.

    In conclusion, it is evident that Abby has plot armor, that the story is poorly written and full of holes and loose ends, there is a lackluster ending that poorly represents the cycle of revenge, and there is a clear political agenda that is within this game.
    In other words, just play the first one and forget this ever happened.    … Expand

    you change to ABBY and you finally see what this HOT GARBAGE OF A GAME IS!
    A REVENGE GAME! *claps*
    so you have this Author in your Team who maybe thought, he is the new Platon, Shakespeare or what the **** he even thought!
    So Abby in all her anger has one mission, but we as the Viewer are not allowed to know, so one FORCED COINCEDENCE of another she got what she was looking for! JOEL!
    so she kills Joel with a GOLF CLUB IN THE HEAD OVER AND OVER AGAIN (*cough* NEGAN from the Walking Dead *cough*) not like we have seen this **** before Neil Druckmann!
    and then DEUS EX MACHINA Ellie is there and gets forced to look how Bodybuilder Girl gives Joel the finishing blow. are you for real man?
    Look I am sure at least 96% of the Players also played The Last of Us part I
    we all know Joel isn't a saint it was his Karma, but just how it built, didn't feel right, it was FORCED!
    so now all of the sudden the Group around Abby decided to let Ellie and Tommy stay alive!
    so now the revenge arc of Ellie begins!

    Ellie on her mission to find Abby just finds Nora and some more and kills them since no one wants to tell her where Abby is
    Tommy is also on his Carnage kills and maaaaaybe he should have been died like 9-10 times till the end of the game, but hey he is alive, everything for the Plot.
    the love triangle felt so forced damn it, you have Dina she seems nice but not relevant after all, she now loves Ellie, Ellie loves her back, then you have Jesse who isn't that important tbh he is just there even when he died it didn't bother anyone! Jesse just made Dina pregannt, so later when Abby wants to kill her, Ellie just said "she is pregnant" she stops thanks to Lev! damn Author you must feel so smart!
    to be honest with you it is also false advertisement you play most of the time ABBY, god I end it here...
    I am sure The Last of Us Part II will get a lot of sales since it is the most hyped game of this generation , but its definitely not the hot **** everyone expected, give it a try and find out yourself
    you get a Revenge, then Revenge and then at the end again a Revenge arc
    after a timeskip you are again playing as Ellie, you want to find Abby, after Tommy came to your house saying he knows where she is, then after some post-traumatic nightmares FOR THE PLAYERS later...
    we have our boat fight, Ellie wins lets Abby who is not a Bodybuilder anymore, she is thin! she got rescued by Ellie, but was already starved-
    Ellie just let her alive after a memory with Joel.

    if anyone read this sorry for my bad english, and making it complicated to read but it really was this complicated no one really cares kinda game, everything they did right on the first part felt just worthless in the second part of the game and you have all these timeskips like it would make anything or anyone more likeable or would give any more relevance!

I'm a huge fan of The last of us and to say this game is a disappointment is an understatement, Neil Druckmann should be ashamed about lying to the thousands of fans by adding Joel in the trailers only to find you get zero proper gameplay with him as he dies in the first 2 hours. Joel is a character that trusts no one except those who he holds extremely close such as Ellie and Tommy. We know from the first game that Joel and Tommy crossed many different people in there first twenty years following the outbreak but yet Joel and Tommy walk straight into this group of people like idiots resulting in Joels death. The thing that made the first game so amazing was the relationship between Joel and Ellie and the directors just throw it away. There is zero character development of Ellie in this game if anything her character becomes less interesting and unlikeable. One of the major issue is that you are forced to play as Abby the woman who kills Joel , for approximately half of the game. This is done in an attempt to make you feel sympathy for this character but it simply does not work. Playing as Abby is horrendously unenjoyable and as well as this you already know where the character ends up as you have played Ellies version of the same 3 day period meaning that even if you were to care about Abby at all you know nothing can happen to her. In my opinion Abby is given the better weapons in an attempt to make her playthrough more enjoyable but all this does is take away from Ellies half of the game. I enjoyed some of the new characters such as Jesse, Dina , Lev and Yara but once again Druckmann chooses to kill off some of these main characters as if its nothing. For example Jesse is killed stopping him from building up any traction as a truly memorable character. Aside from the story my game was riddled with bugs i.e characters walking through brick walls, falling through the map and glitchy cutscenes. This game is a disservice to the fans who have been waiting seven years to see Joel and Ellie in action again and Neil Druckmann needs to apologise to the fans for destroying this long awaited sequel.… Expand

But the Storytelling decisions and pacing is so average at best compared to the excellent (best aspect) of the Last of Us. It's not that the treatment of Joel is handled awful (we know he was gonna be Ellie's snap factor) it's just that it is handled so poorly and the lead up is so "forced" that you wonder if they just wanted to get rid of the character instead of giving it a proper send off. And them they also "forced us" to sympathize to the new Antagonist/Second Protagonist Abby. I feel bad for Laura Bailey, she did a good voice/motion capture performance, it's just the character is so poorly written that her motivations and behaviour for being so antagonistic are never explored beyond the generic "oh boo boo, you killed my father and i'll yours" revenge trope. Disapointing ending too. I for one, was glad that Ellie proved to be the better person. But after the excrutiating journey she embarks to get her. She din't even cut her fingers at least … Expand

    Let me say this clearly: this game looks gorgeous. The vistas are breathtaking. I am giving it this much as an homage for the absolutely impressive work the graphic designers and the coders had to put in for this game to look the way it looks.

    Going back to everything not looks related, this game is horrendous. It might've gotten a better score from everyone if it wasn't the long awaited sequel of a masterpiece that appeared 7 years ago. Even so though, I doubt it would ever be worth more than a 5.
    The story is so poorly written, even if you don't immediately and absolutely despise it from the 2nd hour of the game, you would be left scratching your head indefinitely at how badly this was handled.

    Characters don't behave consistently, not only in comparison with the previous title, but between scenes in the same game. From the classics as Joel becoming brain dead after 30 years of surviving as a complete bad ass and Ellie being utterly useless and dumbfounded at every event, to Abby herself not being consistent in her pursuit of killing Ellie.

    it is such a shame that so many people have been waiting for 7 years for a return of their favourite DUO, just for it to be shattered 2 hours (at best) into the game.
    This game is around 11 hours of cutscenes and scenery and slow gameplay moments. Basically everything that doesn't include killing, looting and hiding. Out of 11 hours, we get 1 hour of Ellie and joel. It is such a disrespectful approach, I don't even know how to put it into words.
    This is THE game of 2013 for me and by far, without a shadow of doubt, one of the BEST games I have ever witnessed in my 22 years of existing.
    To get such a disappointing excuse of a story, just to push some agendas that nobody cares about in the gaming space (since they are 90% of the time shoved down our throats, not properly introduced and developed) is blasphemous.
    DO NOT buy this game. As far as it pains me to say this, it's not worth a single penny because the top dogs at Naughty Dog just didn't give a single **** about this game or about us.

    It pains me to think that most of the fallout will be felt by the people that spent their livelihoods crunching time to make this game its best version. The programmers, designers and art people did what they had to. Don't ever hate them.
    Don't ever assume they can do anything to change what the top 10% of the company wants to do. Dislike those people. Especially Neil Druckmann. He deserves all the critique.

    Naughty Dog, you seemed peerless for a good while. Uncharted 4 was amazing, everyone hoped TLOU 2 would be too. But after seeing how you handled it with 7 years worth of time to do it, I can only hope you will touch the Uncharted series ever again.    … Expand

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
