    Thank you to the entire team from Naughty Dog and Sony. Red dead redemption 2, The Last of us, The last of us part 2, God of war - these are the only games so far that made me experience all the feelings in the world at the same time: rage, frustration, criminal thoughts, love, understanding, acceptance. Genialny pomysł grania zarówno protagonistą, jak i antagonistą zmusza gracza do wczucia się i pełnego zrozumienia obu stron konfliktu. Wszystkie postacie w grze są psychologicznie prawdziwe i wielowymiarowe, a animacje twarzy są absolutnie fantastyczne. Całość wieńczy tragiczny i jednocześnie ironiczny finał.

    To start Joel's death, a rather daring decision that, well executed, could have been good, but it is not the case. Joel, more than 20 years surviving, gets into a house with 15 guys that he knows nothing about? what sense does this make and what sense does abby who persecuted her father's murderer to kill him let the brother and daughter of the man he killed live? knowing that most likely they will go looking for him to kill her and her friends? Clearly a forced decision for what follows, killing one of the best characters in video games in a more than pathetic and meaningless way.
    after this ellie another great character crosses the country massacring people, looking for abby so that at the end when she has her life in her hands she is stupidly enlightened and she realizes that killing and revenge is not the right thing, and letting go abby.

    new characters: more than forgettable, I will only remember abby for killing joel and nothing else

    narration: compared to 1 it is a complete rubbish, I hope for the sake of the first that they leave this up to here

    gameplay: it is an evolution of the first, quite well

    graphics: unfortunately it is the section that stands out the most in the game

    The gaming developers need gamers - It's not the other way around. Like many others I deleted the game after a couple hours. My disappointment with this game is immeasurable. I don't need my intelligence insulted and i don't want to be lectured about stupid **** subliminally. My poor cousin is forcing himself to like the game since he just bought a ps4 pro.

    The game is great and i've actually finished it.
    Other than some minor pacing issues this game is a step up from everything that made the first one great. Can't wait to see what ND does next on PS5.

    I've waited to write a review until i had finished the game, and I have to say that it is a great game! It got compelling characters, a fair story and the graphics are breathtaking. A excellent sequel to the first one.

    I'm not a fan of the first game (it's to boring and overly melodramatic as for my taste) so I didn't really cared about some elements of the story that upset other gamers (you know, Star Wars-like butchery of beloved characters). But what I care about is storytelling, characters and gameplay. And TLOU2 managed to fail in all of those categories. All good games, despite all differences, have common traits - they gave freedom of choice to the gamer and respect that choice. TLOU2 does exact opposite to this. Gamer is literally forced to play for characters he doesn't like, to follow the story which is not involving, to made choices he doesn't want, to share opinion which he doesn't share and so on. Moreover gamer is not even allowed by the developers to express dissatisfaction with this forced agenda. All opinions which are not complimentary to this game are blamed and humiliated without consideration. Meanwhile mass-media hype and ratings are ridiculous. Seriously - calling TLOU2 right after it came out not even the "best game of the year" but "best game ever" stinks. Even when The Witcher 3 came out in May 2015 very few dare to call it "game of the year" until other games published in 2015. Only time proved greatness of TW3. And to call something as boring and silly as TLOU2 "the game of the year" same yer when Cyberpunk is expected and probably sequel to the BOTW? How biased and out of touch with reality those "critics" should have been to make such statements? How their opinion can be trusted or even taken seriously? So in addition to forced unpleasant choices, dumb story, unlikable characters, short and boring gameplay TLOU2 through biased media reviews forces gamers to share developers opinion and political agenda. Buying this game is like buying slave master who'll turn you into obedient slave and will make you suffer. I suggest some gamers are prone to masochism but generally people wouldn't pay for their own enslaving and suffering. So if you are not masochist and not dreaming about sponsoring some rich and arrogant slave master don't buy TLOU2 and demand refund if you was tricked to buy it.… Expand

    There is a lot of good to be found in this game, but there is also a good amount of bad. Gameplay is tense and gripping, presentation is astounding, and it has plenty of incredible moments and setpieces. Even at it's worst, the directing and acting will still move you.     Never in my entire life a video game, gave me such touching moments and connection with characters as it did in the first game. And now after so much hope in Neal and denial of those leaks, it makes my heart broken. I wish i never play this so those sweet memories of Ellie was the last one.

    This is an amazing sequel of part1. It has a great story and a huge improve in gameplay. I believe some haters just don't know what they want from this game and I hope they can experience this story again instead of hating this game blindly.

    The story about Abby is a garbage. If someone had said that The last of us 2 is piece of dirt , i would have said that he or she is wrong. Game doesn't deserve 4 point , it deserves at least 6 or 5.5 not 4. Corrupt critics gave 10 points , and now we have to put this game down. This is my point.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game doesn't deserve a 0, but neither does it deserve a 10 or the title of a 'masterpiece'. It really puts the legitimacy of media outlets even more into question.

    Let me say this first: TLOU didn't need a sequel. It just didn't. The story was concluded - yes, there were questions unanswered, but it was a satisfying end nevertheless.

    Now, if you decide to make a sequel despite that, there's going to be pressure to get it right. They didn't get it right.
    JOEL AND ELLIE made the first game so special, their relationship - now, we're shifting the focus entirely away from that, to characters we can't possibly care for and are bland to say the least. The relationship between Dina and Ellie is completely and utterly lacking chemistry, while Abbie is just a horribly written character and you are FORCED to play her.

    On a side note I want to mention that her physique is not attainable in a post-apocalyptic world with sparse resources. A woman cannot attain this body without steroids or an impeccable (high carbs, high protein) diet with an intensive daily weight lifting and cardio routine (twice a day, usually). It seems like it was important to ND, so I feel like it's equally important to criticise this character design choice which a lot of people don't seem to be happy with; understandingly so.

    KILLING JOEL in such a disgraceful manner after just two hours, to fuel a revenge plot line which eventually culminates in an underwhelming finale that should suggest to us that revenge is ultimately pointless...I'm sorry, that's just an uninspired premise. Considering Joel saved her right before, Naughty Dog gets caught up in their own narrative and morale they are trying to convey.
    Joel deserved better in many ways, and his trust is not easily earned in the first game; but for some reason he is giving it freely in TLOU2.

    IT COULD HAVE WORKED, don't get me wrong, but not the way it was executed.
    Maybe if you could've given us more moral choices, a way to save Joel and the end, and so on. Instead they're forcing this storyline on us.

    "REVERTING EXPECTATIONS" seems to be the motto, but not in a good way; combined with illogical writing (similar to Game of Thrones Season 8) and a way too depressing, hopeless and overly violent tone - failing to continue their legacy.

    NEIL DRUCKMANN'S ego himself is disturbing to me, failing to address criticism towards the game or the way he's handled his employees in an adult manner. He's been misleading the audience with trailers. He even put a card of himself into the game (100% brain, a villain). It's bizarre to say the least. I'm starting to think he wrote this game for himself and did it for the shock value, not the fans of the franchise.

    (LASTLY, it's very sad to see negative voices being discredited by media and companies alike. We already saw that with the last Jedi, and now it's happening again with TLOU2. We are putting the money in your pockets. We should be allowed to love and hate a game. And maybe, just maybe, something could actually be learned from criticism.)    … Expand

Majority of the negativity stems from the rather brutal killing of Joel, first part of the game. It was a shock to see, but it had such an emotional impact I was totally engrossed in its story and how Ellie would avenge his death. After the events of the first game and the decision that Joel made that subsequently doomed mankind of all hope, did people really think he'd be able to continue without any enemies, completely unscathed? It's impossible. As much as I love Joel as a character, the way the story plays out makes sense and has such weight to it, I never felt hard done by in anyway. Abby, the character who killed Joel is actually a great character and her reasons are justified. Ellie is no saint, even more so further into the game.

    Overall I think they knocked it out of the park with this. It's just a shame a lot of people that have reviewed negatively aren't mature enough to understand the games direction.    … Expand

It even has a pointless and disgusting sex scene), there are many more things wrong with it. - the story    TLOU2 is a waste of time & money. At times it feels like a pretentious movie. At other times it's an LGBT misery porn simulator.

    Besides the identity politics & woke SJW stuff (there is a lot of this. It even has a pointless and disgusting sex scene), there are many more things wrong with it.

    - the story is swallow, makes no sense and has some plotholes (for example, infected people living in freezing temperature, with no food)
    - the main theme ("cycle of violence") is dumb and poorly written and full of contradictions
    - some characters are very unlikable, others act like idiots
    - the ending is bad and unsatisfying. In fact, it might be the worst ending to a video game I have ever seen
    - some of the dialogue is pure cringe
    - gameplay is repetitive and the game is way too long
    - the jump button is overhyped and plain stupid
    - no multiplayer

    The only redeeming part are the good animations and the graphics. However, there seems to be a masive downgrade when you compare some scenes to what was shown in trailers. And I'm not a fan of Ellie's face being redesigned (it's not about her growing up, she looks weird even in the flashbacks). Hell, they made even Marlene uglier. Why?
    Also, I guess the music is pretty good but it's imposible to enjoy it when you are annoyed because of the plot.

    To sum it up: repetitive gameplay, great graphics, horrible story. And since this is a STORY driven game, I can't give it anything above 3. Sadly, I must say I'm very worried where the gaming industry is heading to.

    Don't play this game even if it's free! TLOU2 is a disgrace to Sony and the entire gaming industry! Game journalists should be ashamed for their false advertisment!    … Expand

    Absolutely TOP action/adventure game! Great characters, graphics, design, sound, and all these thing in LONG spellbinding journey. ( I feel it is like whole Uncharted trilogy in one game). I am really satisfy! 10/10 Masterpiece!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. El análisis lo hicimos entre 5 personas, primero hablaremos sin spoilers a posterior con spoilers.

    SIN SPOILERS: repartiendo el juego en 3 partes, gráficos, jugabilidad e historia.
    Gráficos: es puntero, es increíble que se vea tan bien en un PS4 al nivel de Uncharted 4 pero aun con mejores animaciones faciales, la brutalidad al matar a los infectado o personas se siente aun mas fuerte y real, si detenemos el juego o prestamos atención vemos detalles constantemente.
    Jugabilidad: es similar al primero pero agregándole cosas como nuevas armas posibilidad de arrastrarnos para escondernos, usar una cuerda, aunque el sigilo esta mejorado como pocos juegos, notamos que se hace mas divertido por momentos ir disparando ya que los combates se hacen o muy fáciles o muy parecidos a la primera parte en sigilo.
    Historia: el primero si bien no brillaba aunque en mecánicas y visualmente era espectacular para tratarse de una juego de PS3 lo mejor que tenia era su historia, protagonistas que uno veía reales, disfrutabas de ellos desde un primer momento. en esta segunda parte no es así, su problema mas grande es la historia, la estructura es un desastre, en momentos sumamente importantes te cortan para colocar un recuerdo y te sacan por completo de lo que sucede, te obligan a jugar horas de esta manera, esto es algo que sucede mas de una vez. También hay que tomar en cuenta lo sádicos que son por momentos, si es un mundo crudo y violento pero hay cosas que no hacen falta mostrar o hacer.

    CON SPOILERS: hace años cuando por primera vez dijeron que Elli sería la protagonista y que esto seria una historia de venganza muchos dijimos van a matar a Joel era algo obvio porque otro motivo justificarían que se fuera a buscar venganza, muchos dijeron que valientes tienen que ser para matar a un personaje tan querido por la gente. Creo que es lo opuesto no pudieron encontrar un motivo menos obvio o mejor, tenían mil caminos para tomar, se decidieron por el que casi todos pensaban. La manera en la que lo matan sufriendo, torturado, lo escupen sin poder despedirse de Elli, y mostrando en reiteradas ocasiones su cabeza destrozada. Están en todo momento queriendo justificar un comportamiento herrado de Elli y aquí esta el otro gran problema del juego. En el momento en el que puede ir a rescatar al hermano de la persona que ama toma la decisión de ir a vengarse y dejarlo atrás como si de todas maneras no pudiera ir después por ella. Luego cuando ya tiene una familia tiene todo lo que se podría pedir en un mundo tan horrible decide abandonar todo por vengarse. Entendemos que lo que buscaban era demostrarnos que la venganza no te lleva a nada y solo acarrea mas dolor pero acá no tenes forma de decidir solo sigues avanzando y ves que todo lo que haces esta mal pero a fuerzas tenes que hacer todo mal para llegar a un final. Con Elli pasa exactamente lo mismo que sucedió con Daenerys en Juego de Tronos, paso 6 temporadas siendo una cosa, para cambiar al personaje al final por completo termino casi siendo una psicopata, en este caso es lo mismo en la primera es divertida dulce amable independiente, en esta segunda parte no se quien es pero no es Elli.
    El otro punto y creo que es muy importante es la publicidad engañosa, casi nadie mencionó esto pero a mi me vendieron la historia de venganza de Elli, sin embargo jugamos mas tiempo con Abby, Elli que como personaje secundario en casi todo el juego. Otro gran problema es Abby un personaje que ninguno de nosotros puedo empatizar con ella no solo por lo que hizo al principio, no es un personaje al cual le pueda tomar afecto ni siquiera cuando sabes sus motivaciones. Recién al final de la historia logro darnos MUCHA PENA por lo que le sucedió pagando en vida todo el mal que trajo su venganza. Pero cuando por fin podíamos ver algo bueno con ella no nos muestran que sucede, aunque se entiende que llego a su destino por la imagen del menú al finalizar el juego. El final luego de una manera ridícula deciden que Elli no sufrió lo suficiente y le hacen perder 2 dedos para que pierda lo único que le quedaba de Joel que era tocar la guitarra.
    Tocando el tema de la polémica de la discriminación nos da igual si la protagonista es gay, que su novia sea judía tampoco que la niña que se siente niño tampoco, pero porque el hombre blanco heterosexual tiene que ser el INTOLETANTE como lo llaman en el juego ya que la mayoría no lo somos y también podríamos ofendernos, son detalles que no se toman en cuenta. Hay un pequeño detalle y esto ya es a modo personal en la escena de sexo la verdad no hacia falta verle los pechos a Elli la vemos crecer desde que tiene 14 se entiende que esta de moda en series las escenas de sexo, pero al igual que lo sádico de algunos momentos siento que esto también sobraba.
    Mención especial al mejor momento de todo el juego. El cumpleaños de Elli lo amamos es como nos imaginamos a los protagonistas de la primera parte toda su vida.    … Expand

    Its a damn near flawless game, from voice acting, graphics, action, gameplay overall visual and sound production. the only major thing holding it back from being a 10 is the story line. its just okay and sometimes its not all that compelling other than a few shocking moments.

    Some of the characters such as Abby have laughable character designs. Apparently, being in the apocalyptic wasteland makes people grow Senator Armstrong physiques.
    The entire journey is pointless as there is no payoff when confronting the "last boss."
    This game also renders the entire journey of the previous game pointless.
    The first game didn't have very good gameplay but the great story and characters made up for that downside, this game has the same gameplay as the first installment but with the addition of a terrible story and characters.
    The sex scene was awful and unnecessary, it did not add anything of substance.

    The force you to play the character that kills Joel - and just force feed you her story...when you already know what happens to everyone in her story. They try to make you feel back about the things you've already done - and it doesn't work.

    30 hours later - I give nearly zero fcks about Abby and her crew. The interesting characters get killed off and we're left with a shallow, on the nose story line and 3 characters surrounded in plot armor.

    I'm giving it a 0 - even though it's like a 6-7 because I want to send a clear message to any developer in the future trying to pull this nonsense again.

    It's entirely possible to make a game sequel without **** all over the original.

    10/10 masterpiece. Never played a game or watched a movie quite like this. Incredibly ambitious, controversial and emotional. Almost dethroned Red Dead Redemption 2 as the best game I've ever played in my life. Don't believe the hate, this is one you MUST experience for yourself.

    The gameplay itself is spot on and a perfect refinement of the first game. What surprised me the most was the sheer size of the game. Just when you think it's going to end it keeps going and going resulting in 25 hours plus of gameplay - which is great value for money! Developers such as Capcom with their abysmally short 4 hour Resident Evil 3 "remake" which sells for the same price as The Last Of Us Part II have been put on notice. As for the graphics they are absolutely incredible and are the best seen on PlayStation 4. Naughty Dog has given the console a beautiful send off by unlocking every drop of the PlayStation 4's potential as the generation draws to a close. I played on a PS4 Pro on a 65" HDR OLED television and I was regularly transfixed by the photorealistic graphical fidelity and physics. The HDR implementation is subtle but very effective creating nice contrast ratios. The game renders at 30fps 1440p on PS4 Pro and 30fps 1080p on base PS4. Sound design is also amazing. I highly recommend playing the first game before jumping into The Last of Us Part II as so you'll have the complete experience. Overall you simply owe it to yourself if you're a PlayStation 4 owner to play The Last of Us series. Controversy aside, I highly recommend The Last of Us Part II. It is a harrowing, emotional and brutal experience much like life itself.

    But then...levels are too long, action is almost every minute (i loved first Last of Us especially for it's atmosphere of adventure) and this final "monster" with Abby in the hospital. Guys are you seriously? I'm playing on minimal complexity level (just relaxing) and you even don't provide me chance to skip this fight! I thought this type of game design (player and enemy in close space) ended in 90s.
    Game over for me on this level. Last of Us 1 was much better.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Well here we go. To start? I am a huge fan of the first game (just personally a top favorite of mine) and this was much anticipated. Avoided the leaks and went in clear minded. With that said lets get into the nitty gritty. Spoilers will be discussed mostly in story and in the recap.

    Gameplay-Really good when it picks up. The pacing really hurts the gameplay especially early on but when its rolling its not only tense its fun and incredibly addicting to play. While the jump button seems a bit forced and the dodge button seems mandatory for every single encounter? Its a bit of a downer but the gameplay makes up what is a lot of the rewarding aspects of this game.

    Graphics- Naughty Dog needs to if they haven't already give those guys and gals working on the graphics a raise and attempt to retain them for life. These graphics are astounding, beautiful and just really give the game the feel it's trying to pull off. Moments when you play when the rain lets up? It's a gorgeous sight to see. When it's raining and the thunder hits? Amazing. Truly an accomplishment.

    Accessibility Features- This is something that normally doesn't come up in games but the accessibility features while I didn't use much of them are great for gamers who need them. Its another thing you can tell Naughty Dog has focused on and they did an incredible job with it. A lot of kudos here for making sure tons of people can play the game no matter what life throws at them.

    Story- So this is the last one and this is a bit long winded. The acting in this game? Is very impressive even with the poor dialogue at times and awkward moments. The story is a bit of a mess and I will leave out my disagreement for what decisions the studio made with the characters here for a moment. The flashbacks, time jumps and just the consistent going back and forth? It's messy and goes to another point. This game could have been probably cut by 25% and still told the story it was trying to accomplish. Abbys portion felt forced and her origins could have been revealed in an entirely different way. The story early on is very slow, Joel dies, you are forced to journey on and the game moves very slow at this point. The game by the time it really picks up with Ellie? You switch to Abby with your entire skill tree reset now to zero. The game also focuses a lot on what the cost of revenge is and what it can drive a normally good person to do. It attempts to switch the player to instead of feeling like you need to get revenge for Joel switches and tells you what Ellie was doing is wrong and she must be punished. As a player of the original which most people are who played this game? They aren't gonna feel that nor did I and that plays into my score for this game. This story could and should have been executed differently. The plot outline of this game makes a ton of sense the overall delivery is messy and does not always land. When it does land its a nice subtle tone and it is done really well. Those times it does land is not often enough.

    Overall? This game is a bit of a disappointment as its really a cinematic game that focuses on the story pushing you through. The gameplay, graphics, soundtrack, acting is all done incredibly and should be really focused on here and applauded. The story is really unfortunately a mess and it impacts the overall experience of this game and Abby is really forced upon the player to be humanized and liked and it never hits home.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I am going to go through all aspects of the game, and give my honest opinions on the game as a whole.

    Graphics: stunning, beautiful, the water, the grass everything was just gorgeous. The game will look phenomenal on the ps5.

    Combat: their were a lot of moments where I felt the tension, where I died and had to approach the situation differently. Abby and Ellie are two different play types, Ellie is more ranged and stealth, while Abby is much more offensive and melee. They were different enough to create a bit of variety in the game-play. My biggest complaint is the enemy types. You have all the zombies from the first game, Clickers, Runners, Bloaters, and Stalkers. There is a new one called the Shambler that is a mix of bloater and runner. The only other enemies are people and dogs. There was not enough types to make the game feel different, it was more running into the same thing after about a couple hours.

    Abby: The character that has received a lot of controversy. First thing, she is not trans, that was misleading on the leaker's part. The game explains her physique by saying she trained a lot, which too me is skeptical cause we are in an apocalypse. We don't have the resources for that kind of stuff. She is introduced poorly, she is brought in as the villain of the game, so for about 15-18 hours I saw her as the villain. She did kill Joel, brutally, and it ruined my first impression of the character. As I played her my opinion only changed slightly, but that was due to interactions with Yara and Lev. All her friends didn't make me think she was a good, kind, caring person, since in the end her friends are killers too. Lev and Yara brought a better side to her, but it was more like 'oh she fells guilt' but by the time you actually get to this you begin to get tired of her. I think she should have had her own game, not be shoved in as a replacement for Ellie and Joel. You could play the game, not play Abby's, part and nothing would change.

    Ellie: Who cares if she gay, its Ellie, she can be as gay as she wants. Ellie felt over dramatized to me, like she would not admit or talk about things that would bother her, and it was frustrating. True, she did go through a lot and is now on a revenge quest. But Ellie just felt disconnected from the other characters at times. Yes her and Dina were cute, but only for an hour before the revenge took Ellie and made her distant from Dina. And for some odd reason when Ellie killed some characters she acted like she has never done that before, like it was her first time. Trust me it wasn't. I get the PTSD of Joel's death, but it felt like Ellie would at times be fine with being a badass, but then would feel instant regret. It wasn't until the ending did I feel she actually got anywhere as a character. Yes she did let Abby go, which meant she was trying to let her revenge go. I enjoyed Ellie more in the flashbacks between her and Joel then i did in the main game. Her killing of Mel was extreme, but what would have made it work more was if for a moment she saw Dina, that would warrant the reaction she had. Overall she felt like a forced drama point, and you didn't even get to play her for the whole game so you couldn't watch her arc from beginning to end.

    Side characters: Jesse was cool and loved having him (then they killed him), Dina wasn't bad but got better as the game went on, Owen was also interesting (till they for some reason forced a **** scene between him and Abby, what are we 12?), Mel was sweet and I could understand her (till they killed her) , Manny was hilarious and they killed him, Nora was like a protective friend (also dead), Yara was an amazing big sister (also dead), and Lev was just a character I wished we could have explored more. Btw Lev is the true trans and let him live out his life as he pleases. I would love to have a spin off about Lev and what he goes through.

    Story: I get the 'revenge is a horrible cycle thing' but the game is forcing you to feel bad for characters. You play as Ellie, killing these people that are actively trying to kill you, and everything is fine. Your enjoying the game. Then you play as Abby, and the game proceeds to show the people you killed, and how good they are, how sweet the dogs are, how they aren't so bad. The game wants you to feel bad. I pretty much said "OK, was that it?" The story isn't some interwoven psychological brain teezer. This game is a sequel, but its not the best sequel. I get that characters die in such a harsh world, but to start the player off with that just ruins the players experience, it takes the action away from them and forced them to be a bystander while they watch characters drop like flies. I will address 1 thing people are saying, they are saying it's riddled with plot-holes. It is not. I have played the game through 2.5 times total 52 hours. There aren't any MAJOR plot holes and have yet to notice even tiny ones. Every character action makes sense. Those of you saying that Joel would not go with Abby did not play the first game. He did the EXACT same with Henry and Sam. When a character is in the middle of a blizzard, with a horde of infected chasing them, they do whatever they have to do, similarly to being in the middle of a city hunting you down (Pittsburgh in Part 1) Is it more in character to be hostile to people you are FORCED to be with while you wait out a blizzard and horde? Or do you try to be friendly to a group of people that outnumber you and are actually pretty decent people prior to finding out that Joel is well, joel Miller.

    There are valid criticisms for this game, there really are, but god if most of them aren't just people using buzzwords they don't understand to "criticize" the game.

    Play the game for yourself, if you liked the first game you owe it to yourself, and if you didn't, well it's a lot different than the first as well so I say give it a shot.

    The graphics, environment, music, and sound were very nice.
    The gameplay was repetitive and boring.
    The story is a fail and the game drags for too long.
    It is not worthy of 9's and 10's that it is getting. It is a 6-7/10 at best.
    Original Last of Us is still the best and the best Naughty Dog game. It is a damn shame this game turned out the way it did. Biggest disappointment of 2020 games.

    You spend so much of the game doing very little and making little progress that by the end it felt like a waste of time.

    The gameplay felt marginally improved, but still lacks any meaningful new mechanics. Proning and dodging are nice, but I wanted Ellie to feel faster and more agile, but she controls very similarly to Joel who felt more like a Tank. The gameplay personally got boring and repetitive by the halfway point.

    Anyway, the complements can be for the graphics, audio, animations, etc. However I can't say crunching people with overtime was worth the end product. The visual fidelity and audio quality wasn't worth the human cost, and it wasn't worth losing my sanity over.

    Those mainstream reviewers that gave this a 10/10 should be ashamed. Stop promoting these terrible games as some sort of amazing standard that should be followed. Just because millions upon millions of dollars were invested doesn't mean that the product is any good.

    I can't recommend the game even if you got it for free. Avoid it.

They try to justify the killing of joel because of what he did to abbys father. The big problem here is tha joel had already lost his daughter and ellie made him feel love again. When he went throug hell to get ellie to the fireflies and the where gonna kill her without even giving her the choice ofcourse joel as a father figure would not let that happend. Abby torturing joel to death for doing something many farhers would have done. Playing with abby for 10 hours did not make me symphathise with her or justify the killing of a beloved character like joel. Story simply was not good written.… Expand

Hate how they deal with the characters not respecting them at all just anyone you start to like or attached to it will die instantly, can't of course talk about Joel's death and how bad it is am not saying that he can't die its reasonable for him to die but not in that way and not in the beginning of the game like this, the story is poor and doesn't make sense at all, letting you play with Abby about 10 hours that character that killed Joel is crazy and letting you fight Ellie and show Ellie as a villain, and an ending that doesn't make any sense and open so that you can make part 3 ???and i hope you don't, the only things that i liked is the graphics and the gameplay and the sounds are done pretty good and the realism in the weapons and i loved the crafting table and how detailed it was loved the face capture of the characters and how they move is really realistic… Expand

    I am only 5 hours in but had to put the rating in when I saw all the hate and fake reviews, the game is very emotional and the controls and animations are exceptional. I will put a final rating later but up to this point the game is masterfully crafted and beautiful. Avoid spoilers at any cost.

    It is not enjoyable or entertaining.. The characters are unlikable. I couldn’t care less what happened to them. The story telling is clumsy/poor. The LGBTQ+ characters are just caricatures. There isn’t any real depth either. The game just piles misery upon misery and only showcases the worst in humanity. Without any subtlety or balance. Naughty Dog TRIED to be shocking, and challenging and deep. And failed. They just indulged in a debauchery of torture for no real reason other than the shock factor. Its unsubtle and crude. Did playing the game change me? Will it leave a lasting impact? No. It’s going straight into the bin. Naughty Dog took what should have been a homerun and managed to fail. Such a shame!
    I am a massive fan of the first game and it pains me to write this. But anything other than what I wrote would have been a lie.

    I really hated about the game is how it completely forgot it was set during an outbreak/apocalypse. Now it looks like teenage drama. It doesn’t make sense that Abby’s group would just let her drag them along across the country for some petty revenge, it’s a waste of resources and manpower. Ellie and Dina living on a farmhouse towards the end of the game is so unrealistic and retarded, like why, after experiencing so many traumatic things, would Ellie accept living in a vulnerable location instead of the safe walls of Tommy’s town? It just feels like they were trying too hard to make Ellie and Dina some sort of single family, it was honestly cringe. And am I supposed to believe Dina just left the farmhouse at the end of the game, while carrying her very unreliable and needy baby? There is absolutely no indication that the outbreak got any better since the first game so I’m not sure why everyone acts like it’s a teen drama in this game. Why does Joel and Tommy save abbys group at absolutely no reward of their own? Why is Mel 8 month pregnant and still running around fighting like a dumbass? So **** dumb.    … Expand
