    Overall I loved the game. A lot of people are showing hate to this game simply because they feel way too attached to characters from the first game. Especially considering that the game is set in a post apocalyptic world where people die at any moment in the most unexpected ways. It’s because of these angering yet realistic and haunting moments that make this game beautiful. People whoOverall I loved the game.     Really well produced, and amazing story
    I recommend it a lot
    And yes I'm a huge fan at the Last of us trilogy.

    I think the graphics and parts of the gameplay are absolute breathtaking and incredible. But the story is horrific, cheep, cheesy and cringeworthy. The attempts at emotional manipulation are obvious and ultimately whatever the writers were attempting did not work on me, and left me massively disappointed in this game as a sequel to the franchise.     I loved the game. Everything about it was great: the graphics, the details, the facial expressions of the characters, the settings. The acting is great, and the dubbing in Portuguese was perfect. The game teaches a valuable lesson: we are all the heroes of our own history. Enemies are people who, just like us, have feelings and a deep history behind all their actions.     This game has gotten such an incredible amount of hate because people saw spoilers ahead of time and decided they hated the game from that moment. On top of that, somehow the average consumer thinks they have more of an idea of who the characters are than the writers and creators do. There is NO game that deserves a 0/10.. even if you didn’t like the story you should rate the gameplay. They gameplay is immaculate and is full of the most realistic violence you’ve ever seen in a game. The story is so gut wrenching and heartbreaking, but it was the story that needed to be told. I respect the hell out of Naughty Dog for this game, they stepped out of their norm and took a risk. They didn’t just give the fans the same thing from the first one, they gave us the story that we needed. Believe me when I say this IS a masterpiece, regardless of what the haters say.… Expand

The game story line just plain sucks. I mean it's one thing to kill off Joel but it's another when you have to take control of the character who kills off one of the best characters around, That to me is one of the dumbest decisions. And of course the ending is just complete **** The entire game was based on the fact that this is all about revenge and yet for some reason at the end after Abby kills Ellie's father figure and some friends and bites of Ellie's fingers all of a sudden revenge doesn't come into play And its all about forgiveness? Basically there's no payoff, you don't get revenge for Joel. Yes stupid move naughty dog. And let's also talk about the fact that naughty dog lied to its fans. In the trailers we see Joel and Ellie interact In certain times but instead when the games out now it's actually Ellie and Jesse or flashbacks? And naughty dog and Laura Bailey and all these people that are supporting the game are wondering why fans are upset? Yeah this is not a good game this has so many issues the story was a mess, and the best character of the whole last of us universe gets killed it within 2 hours Yes the reason why this gets a 3 out of 10 for me is because the graphics are great and that's it everything else sucks.… Expand

    This fame is really awesome. The story is great and gameplay is super fun. People get hung up on the spoilers and other elements too much and they take it out on the games rating. It is genuinely just as fun as the first game. Play it for yourself and then see how great this game really is.

    I'm sorry just the game has done a massive disservice to Joel's character and ellies, if you wanted the story to be about ellie. If you wanted the story to be about Abby's poor design you should've never had Joel and Ellie in it.

When playing a game like The Last of Us part 2 the narrative and character plots are huge contributing factors to the overall enjoyment of the game. Its entirely possible to make the wrong decisions early on and completely taint the gaming experience. For me this is the point, as spectacular as this game is cinematically, as expansive and unique the gameplay is; you play out the entire story with a sour taste in your mouth. This is because the creators at Naughty Dog have discredited the legacy of the first game with a misguided plot twist. Ultimately, the emotional investment and connection with the first game is lost very early on. The saddest aspect of the Last of Us part 2 is that it will be considered a success, not because of fan opinion but because of record sales and revenue. Whilst the game is still extremely entertaining and in many ways ground breaking it will always be a 'what if'. It will never mean as much to me as the first game.… Expand

First of you are going to kill off a main and WELL beloved character you need to send them off with some type of respect at least. The way of Joel being killed and the dialogue leading up to it felt off. Then after having Ellie witnessing it and not getting some sort of revenge at the was very pathetic. They could have at least Abby fight just enough to get away, thus having Ellie swear for revenge would have even better than what we got.

    If one is to get this game, get it pre owned at least when it falls flat on price. There was only a few good moments and scences that you really got to take in and enjoy. How ever flash backs are a lazy way of doing it.    … Expand

    Despite the political agenda, LGBT, femoc, and so on. TLoU 2 is good, isn't a game that evokes emotions good? Yes, all sorts of minorities definitely ruined the game, but even considering this tlou2 is a masterpiece game.

    I did not pick up the game for stunning graphics or refined gameplay, I picked it up for the story. Closest game I've come across to remind me of August Underground franchise and how tough it can be to just to get through

Joel não vi problema em morrer, pelo contrário, achei boa a ideia. Mas não da maneira que foi feita aqui. Pra começar, o jogo tem várias quebras de ritmo. No começo parece malhação. Depois que o Joel morre, pensei que o jogo fosse começar de verdade. Mas não, o próximo trecho de gameplay é você passeando com a Ellie de cavalo conversando sobre a vida junto com a Dina. Isso é literalmente uma quebra de ritmo fodida, na minha opinião. Forçam você a gostar da Abby, mostrando que literalmente TODO mundo que você matou era uma pessoa que tinha uma vida, e que todo o ser humano comete erros, aquele típico papo de ver o outro lado. Cara, sempre fui um cara com muita empatia. Quando sou tóxico depois que mato alguém, me sinto mal. Achei super forçado esse negócio, principalmente por que eles minimizam diversas mortes de personagens super importantes (Tommy,Jesse) para favorecer a narrativa de que os personagens que a Ellie mata ao longo do game foram pessoas legais, como se os citados anteriormente fossem "piores, menos importantes". Senti que o game não passou a mensagem que existem dois lados, visto que, pelo menos pra mim, eles favorecem muito o lado da Abby. Inclusive, vi vários youtubers torcendo por ela. Olha, no primeiro jogo, me senti mal com diversas coisas que o Joel fez, e entendi que o que ele fez no final foi muito errado. Mas, veja, não precisei de outro ponto de vista pra entender isso, e isso fez eu amar ainda mais o personagem. Além de todos esses problemas, o final foi horrível. Vi muita gente falando "mas você queria o que, que a Abby morresse e o garoto ficasse sozinho?" SIM! ia deixar o game muito mais pesado e ia dizer que um siclo de vingança nunca tem fim, visto que o garoto com certeza ia querer se vingar da Ellie. Também vi muitas pessoas falando que, se a Ellie matasse a Abby, o jogo ia acabar com um "final feliz". Não ia, pois a Ellie, mesmo matando a Abby, teria perdido tudo, de um jeito ou de outro, e ia simbolizar mais ainda o que falei que, mesmo completando a vingança, ela perderia tudo, e a lição do jogo ia ser passada de uma maneira muito melhor. Os gráficos são ótimos, cenários incríveis, gameplay cansativa, assim como o do primeiro, porém não é ruim, funciona. Muitas pessoas falam "hur dur mas o jogo deveria ter uma nota maior que 3". Meu consagrado, cada um acha uma coisa, e eu acho que a história é algo muito importante para um jogo, principalmente para a continuação de The Last, um jogo com uma história incrível. Enfim, foi só a minha opinião, cada um pensa do jeito que quiser. Se você achou que esse negócio de proporcionar emoções funcionou, ok, só quero que muitos entendam: funcionou pra você, não pra mim e pra muitos também. Abçs.… Expand

Nope, sure his death was coming but it could have been done 10 times better and his early death doesn't fit the tone when a veteran survivor trust some random person and goes to their friends place makes absolute no **** sense. I did like the settings in this new game would be great for factions, like the high rise constructions or the haven seraphite base.… Expand

    An absolutely nonsensical game that does little to naritavly improve apon the last game. Other than the graphics being better the game does little to actualy improve gameplay and has to fall back on pandering to a niche crowd to attempt to hide it's admittedly basic story. However even it fails to get a satisfying payoff in the end. Let's hope this is truly is the last of it's kind.

    Story: now here is were people can and do deviate, I loved the story when playing with ellie so a 7 for me because i didnt care much for abby as a main character,

    if you actually sit through it, the events are earned you just have to get passed the part where you know who dies and give it a chance, it is totally subjective tho so this one could in fact be 0 for some people

    My score: (10+10+10+9+7)/5 = 9.2

    and IMO the lowest one could rate this game is (9+9+9+5+0)/5 = 6.4
    Anyone rating it lower than that, is not rating the game just raging on it for some other reason (IMO)    … Expand

    The gameplay is the same from the last game but still very good and the stealth is awesome! And for some reason the story is so bad I couldn't keep playing so I watch/skipped through the last bit and now I want to kill myself :)

    One of two of my most anticipated games this year and the Last of Us was one of my favorites, which I have played through at least 4 times.
    That being said, Last of us part 2 is a lot of hits and misses, but the missed are so impact-full that it ruins the game. I pre-ordered it, because I had a lot of trust in the company, but that went out of the window. I enjoyed the game for some time,    One of two of my most anticipated games this year and the Last of Us was one of my favorites, which I have played through at least 4 times.
    That being said, Last of us part 2 is a lot of hits and misses, but the missed are so impact-full that it ruins the game. I pre-ordered it, because I had a lot of trust in the company, but that went out of the window. I enjoyed the game for some time, and even some controversial choices were fine by me, but then it all wend down hill and the disappointment overshadowed the enjoyment.
    Here is the sum up of my thoughts of the game:
    1) Graphics - 5. The character models are good and the world is quite nice, but it becomes obvious that PS4 is no longer a decent hardware. After being able to play games on 60fps or more, the drop back to 30fps is really noticeable and worsens the experience.
    2) Sound - 9. Really good. Liked it a lot.
    3) Gameplay - 7. Its better than the first game, though (I know it's done to balance the game mechanics) some choices remain stupid. Like, you can carry 8 shells, not single more, but then you also can carry a brick. Also, the enemies spray you with bullets, but drop nothing. That being said, if you can ignore it, it's enjoyable. Really liked the weapon crafting, though, again, there were some irritating flaws that I can't reveal without spoilers. And the most annoying bit for me is the lack of mouse and keyboard (but it might be just me - it doesn't reflect the score).
    4) Story and characters - 3. I managed to get through to release without seeing a single spoiler and experienced the game as it was meant to, and I went away dissatisfied. It was not just because the events that took place, but also the character development, their choices, which seemed stupid, missing dialogs that I was waiting on and the list goes on. There were some gems, but even they were executed poorly. This game dwarfs against it's predecessor. The actors did their part really well, but it couldn't save the mess the writer made.
    OVERALL: 5 (it's not a mathematical result, but an overall score), Can't recommend.

    If I'd met myself few days earlier I would suggest skipping this game and keep on waiting for Cyberpunk 2077. Too bad I spent my hard earned cash on this game.    … Expand

    To be clear and concise, this gave has a few good points with a majority of bad points that would lead long-time fans of the game wanting. For one of the last games to be released on PS4 before its end it takes full advantage of all the capabilities provided to give a fair quality to the graphics and landscapes of the game. Combat was exactly what fans of the serious have come to expect with small instances of similar glitches happening in place in different environments, smashing an infected head into a wall to only then smash air with the blood splatter as well as body of the infected being slightly below the implied area. Weapons crafting and perks were rewarding and if a player was tactical enough to gather resources as they went granted a scaling factor that made the player feel a late game strength as oppose to an early game weakness. All these factors above I believe granted this game its 2 points shown above. However, where the game seems to fail and seems to be the main focus of issue with major fans is the fact that the story seems to be inconsistent with the thought processes of our characters and instead a story the went on a heavy tangent of what fans were expecting. User game play is divided into uncomfortable segments that abruptly stops that storytelling momentum but instead forces fans to wait and engage with a completely different moment with little commit and or care. Fans may at times struggle to even empathize and engage with the story and have moments in which the question their own intentions of continuing. All-in-all, the Last of Us Part II strikes as more of a platform in today's media to connect and question as oppose to a self-fulfilling universe existing in fantasy and awe. It is a game released for them as oppose to fans of the series.… Expand

    Lousy story. The story was so bad I regret buying to buy it. I was expecting a lot more considering the excellent first part but everything was ruined with this game. It feels that everything happened for nothing and I just wasted my time. Graphics are so good but the disapointment is just too big to ignore. Don't buy it. You'll be so, so disappointed.

Joel dies in such a rushed and contrived fashion, I felt frustrated and annoyed, not sad. Abby is the worst, as soon as she kills Joel she becomes irredeemable and yet you have to keep playing as her throughout the game. I mean you don't even get revenge in the end, Abby lives!?! I have never been so disappointed in a games story in my entire life. I'm not going to talk about the gameplay really, because its just fine. although I enjoyed the gameplay in the first game what really kept me playing was the outstanding quality of writing, and sadly this failed sequel falls flat on it's face. This is what i wrote 4 days ago, I gave the game a 2/10 but the website blocked me from posting a bad review. as it does for many other people. When looking on reddit it is clear that meta critic has mass blocked reviews that fall under a certain review score, Shame on you Metacritic! This game sucks Abbys flat af "pecks".… Expand

    For me personally i must say this is a game you have to play. I waited 7 years to play this game and it's amazing. I really took me into it with my feelings i recommend every body to play this game. The story.....I dunno, I feel like this game is too deep into telling the players how **** life is in this game that they forgot how their original actors should act or behave....or anyone for that matter should act or behave in certain situations.

    Gameplay: I'll start by saying the gameplay is an improvement from the last game. Upgrades, new weapons and some new actions. I wasn't a fan of the original and this one actually didn't change my opinion. They added prone which is nice but the AI is kinda laughable and the jump button is used in minor cases that they might as well not have implemented it. The dodge button is nice, but at the same time very over powered, where majority of the game you can just dodge out of the way and melee back to win, making using your cool new weapons pointless. Also quick time events...theres a lot that doesn't feel like its needed (RE7 syndrome). They added in like a few new things to kill, some bosses that overall has the same strategy for everyone of them. The gameplay is better than the original, by a good margin but overall mechanics still is not my cup of tea, and I understand how other players would love this type of gameplay.

    Graphics: The graphics, by all means, is amazing. I love the atmosphere and how the world looks. This is where I personally think this game shines. Very little to say about this category, it is exceptional.

    Sound: So sound is overall pretty good, The sound the npc's make when they die, the gunfire, atmosphere and some voice actors are great. Some negatives I have is some voice actors seem to have very little emotion when certain scenes happen. I'm unsure if it was the dialogue or it was the performance but most of the time I was not convince. Like the times they should be straight up shouting or frustrated just seems off....like they are midly annoyed if anything.

    Story: Okay, this is a biggie. The story for the majority of the game....is basically misery simulator. You There is like.... at most 2 scenes in the game where I really like and the rest of it is just pain. The writing is at best only centers at telling you how horrible killing is and revenge is. Forget realistic character development or for that matter, realistic characters. For a game that tells you how horrible it is to kill others, they sure try to make it very fun for you to....basically kill others, with all these quick time events and awesome guns and stuff. Time skips that disrupt the story rather than enhance it, forcing an unlikable character down your throat, showing how likable she is....just makes me hate her more. Also the fact you have to play a very unlikable character for half the game....half of it.

    Now for my final thoughts, I think this game is going to sell a lot. It is the predecessor of one of the most important game of last gen, of course it is. But it is not the same game by story standards. This is a Star Wars the Last Jedi feel. It will do amazing but it would divide the fandom. Some would love it, others won't. just like with Final Fantasy I am bias and I would grade with bias...because I am human and I like what I like. For Final Fantasy I graded that game a 10/10 because they made me feel like a kid again and they honored their characters and give a strong story telling that makes you feel invested and alive. The Last of Us Part 2 does little to honor their characters, and worse honor their previous game story telling. At best it is a 3/10 for me.    … Expand

    The game doesn’t know what it wants to be. A real depiction of humans and the evil we can do. Or a soft story about forgiveness. I wouldn’t mind the latter if they didn’t make me kill everyone I met and made me actually like the characters. Instead the game wants to be both while failing at both.

    Scenario: Not as charming as the first game, but way more creative. People confuse their anger towards the events with the quality of the scenario, whether you agree or not with the scenarist's choices the writing in this game is great. The story will make you feel all sorts of emotions, will tear you apart and leave you in the dark credits with only a soft guitar rift to process what just happened to you. It's brutal, realistic, and not sugar-coated with Hollywood's ''feel good'' clichés. The story takes liberties and risks to try to be something different rather than going in the fan-pleasing route, as an immense fan of the first installment, I appreciate that.

    I don't want to spoil anything because I think to appreciate the game fully you need to just blindly jump in it, but please give this game the chance it deserves and play through the entire thing and come here to give it an honest score.

    We need to counter all those crazy people blinded by rage who are trying to review-bomb this game without even playing it or, just as bad, by giving it a 0/10, completely ignoring the incredible graphical work, music, sound design, animation, bug testing and actor performances that went into this game because they didn't like the scenario. Even a story-driven game is more than just a story, they hurt the entire single-player story-driven game market by doing that and it worries me that companies will decide the battle royal genre or buggy, repetitive and cliché annual franchises are the only games worth investing in.

    In short: An incredible game wasted on the worst gamer generation in history, blinded by hype, story leaks, and their own idea of what the story should be. (also, it pains me to say this, even homophobia)

    Acting: The best acted game I've ever played, period.
    World-building: All the artifacts, environments, and character interactions really make the world feel real, lived in, believable.
    Stealth gameplay: The ability to go prone, craft a silencer, and use silent weapons like bows and knives make for really engaging stealth.
    Story: This has been the most controversial aspect of the game, but I really appreciate that the story is risky. It wasn't the safe option for ND and I like that they took a risk. I also think that risk paid off, the story they told was really impactful to me. We've seen revenge stories before, but I think this game says something unique and presents it in a unique way.

    Cons

    Pacing: As much as I like the story, I think the pacing is a little off, especially when you get to the halfway point. I also think there's a little too much down-time in game play, it doesn't have enough story set pieces for my liking.
    Gameplay nitpicks: The lack of a lock-on feature is really frustrating, especially when dealing with large groups of enemies. The addition of a dodge feature is useful and very welcome, but I wish I could lock on as well.

    Overall, I think the game deserves the hype. It makes a lot of bold choices that I really respect and I think it's worth playing if you're a fan of the first game. Don't just make assumptions based on the leaks.    … Expand

I've been wanting to post my review for days but it didn't get submitted through as i've been giving it 2 stars. Apparently metacritics only receives positive reviews, the negative ones will be deleted. Review bombing they said, but only fake positive reviews get to stay and negative reviews are getting deleted. It's really unfair for those ppl like me who wanted/had to voice out our opinions about how bad the game was as our opinions were getting rejected or deleted or treated as review bombing. Guess we can never trust metacritic reviews anymore, its all fake and well-controlled. So disappointed.

    Well, apparently all the companies weren't being honest with their reviews (or maybe they're paid to do it). But what matters is the reviews from the customers or users themselves, we are the ones who bought the game and played it. As u can see, there's a big rating gaps between the company and the users. Some ppl who are defending the game will say the reviews were getting bombed, but from what I see, there are a tons of fake positive reviews that are written by the "users" as well. Just because the rating is so low doesn't mean the ratings are fake. We are just giving an honest review about what we think the game is worth for.

    We hated this sequel not because of we are some kind of narrow minded or homophobic. It doesn't have anything to do with that. We don't care about the sexuality of the characters or whether the characters are trans or whatsoever. We just simply do not like the story lines itself, its utterly trash as compared to the part 1. Well, one of the things that I DISLIKED the most on the game is the Joel's quick death. Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying im opposed to the Joel's death, it was just so badly plotted that the main protagonist had to die in the first 2 hours of gameplays (we didn't even get to play much of him). It was an UNDESERVING death IMO. This makes everyone hated Abby so much and started making fun of her appearance by saying she's trans who has unnatural enormous big arms (the only way to unleash the rage upon her). Whats even worse is we were getting forced to play as her in the later of the game after what she'd done to Joel and Jesse for another 1/2 of the gameplay which is equivalent of 10 or more hours like WTH nobody is interested to know her pathetic back stories anyway. This sequel felt like a filler to me, everything is so dragged out. Especially the Abby's part where she wanted to find Owen who apparently turned against WLF, then trying to do some good deeds by saving Lev and Yara who we didnt even care about, beating Ellie up and back to finding Firefly. Every new characters in this sequel is just like random people on the street who you'd nvr remember them, none of the new characters have bonded with us like Joel and Ellie did in the first part. Maybe the new only character i sorta cared about was Jesse, the rest is just meh. At first i didn't even know who Danny, Mel, Leah, Nora, Manny was. Every time had to go back to the scene where Joel getting beating up scene to see their face clearly. None of them were memorable, they just faded away like that. This has already proven the game had failed to tell the story and its poorly executed. The ending was the worst, where Ellie ended up losing everything she had, Joel, Dina, JJ, Jesse, and she cant even play her guitar which was the only thing that made her felt connected to Joel because she lost 2 fingers fighting Abby face to face meanwhile Abby gets away with Lev and live happily. It just drives me crazy to think about it after everything Ellie had been through everything, killed everyone who got in the way, losing her friend on her revenge trip and ended up deciding to save Abby and let go of her. What's the logic behind this. I dont get it. The game is called as "The Last of Us" for a reason, its all about Joel and Ellie and this sequel decided to break everything into pieces. Speechless.

    I remember the first part was a masterpiece and now it's ruined by the part 2 thanks to NaughtyDog and Neil. How i wish the game ended in part 1 and part 2 was never happened. The only thing that impressed me was the graphic designs, the stunning sceneries. Gotta give it to those employees who had put their heart & soul into it. It was such a shame seeing one of my favourite game of all time getting ruined like that.

    As most of the critics already said, the graphics and level designs are great. Many different areas, very versatile looks, every shot could be a wallpaper, beautiful details, skin looks very realistic, motion capture is awesome and was also used for in-game situations. Gameplay works as known from the first part, fun puzzles that are not too hard, great fights with zombies and humans, you can almost always choose whether you want to go stealth or all in. All in all very fluent and realistic gaming experience.

    I am actually shocked about the bad reviews the game got in the first days after release regarding the story. Many were disappointed. I am not. For me this is the best ND piece so far.
    Who wants the well-known narrative of two disturbed characters trying to reach a destination together and growing together emotionally, should clearly play Part 1 again. As Part 2 is really different. Zombie apocalypse is no bed of roses. Part 2 is emotionally difficult, the characters are twisted, things are dark and mean. And things are not only emotionally demanding for the characters, but also for gamers. ND is showing once more that they dare to go new ways, also story-wise. They show that events and characters are not only one dimensional, good or evil, black or white. So for me many parts of the game were not easy to emotionally process, but i loved the challenge and was not disappointed in the end.

    In the last scenes of Part 1 for me it was already clear, that there would be no funny-and-happy-walking-around-with-lovely-Ellie-and-Joel stuff. A conflict was already established, as Joel lied to Ellie. So I was prepared for going solo with one of them from the start. Joel's violent death was shocking but necessary to pave the road for the story, ND wanted to tell us: a revenge story with a huge twist.

    We are used to one-dimensional stories, that give us guidelines of who to love as a character and who to detest, whose goals are rightful and whose death is fair or unfair. When Joel went in to rescue Ellie out of love at the end of Part 1 we tend to forget that his killings might have consequences as well, that he is not only lovable, that he might take the lives of many people, who are loved and lovable as well.
    And that's what we see in Part 2: Both Ellie and her “antagonist” Abby do very gruesome and inhumane things, both kill and hurt for goals that seem fair to them. The game gives us insights in both sides of the story and makes it possible to see both strong characters as human beings with huge flaws but also great human qualities.
    Don’t get me wrong: at the beginning for me it was really hard to play Abby. I was angry to play the person, that killed Joel. I jumped off many high places with her to see her hurt ;)
    And time after time I opened up for her perspective and her goals. I understood that Joel and Ellie also make up for great antagonists who do detestable stuff.

    All in all I could write a whole book as a review, as there are so many things that came to my mind. But after I think I covered the main issue for the bad reviews just a few last fast thoughts:

Im writing this as a warning to players who really liked the first game. First of all, this game is polarizing, it doesn't like to pull its punches when it tries to make you feel bad. I wouldn't have a problem with that if I was the one making the bad decisions but this game forces you to do ugly things and then tries to make you feel bad for those things.
    I'm not sure how much of the team is left that developed the first game but I do know the people in charge have definitely changed and it shows in the darker atmosphere and storytelling. A lot of my anticipation of this game came from their marketing which showed Joel and Ellie but left out another main character that becomes prominent about half way in the game. This completely ruined the experience for me because I felt they were trying to cheaply get me to care for this character after all the terrible things she did and will continue to do.
    Where the game easily gets my praise is in the visual fidelity, especially running on what will soon be last-gen consoles this game looks great. From the animations, the lighting, the voice acting its actually all amazing. Clearly Naughtydog are masters of their craft I just for the life of me feel like no one was allowed to criticize the story internally. Its violent and gory and the entire theme of the game revolves around revenge and about how revenge is bad and the cycle of violence has to be stopped. You kill hundreds of people and zombies in this game and in only a handful of moments before committing incredible violence did people even stop for a second.
    30-35 hours of dehumanizing garbage, if there was ever a case for video games being too violent this one is hitting the upper edges of the scale. I have heard that some people really enjoy this game and i'm glad that you can enjoy something that i really couldn't.    … Expand

The voice acting is exceptional across the board, it has stunning sound, decent combat and gameplay, staggering environments to run around in, and the very occasional moment of sheer joy. It IS a dinosaur. But other than those rare moments I didn’t like playing it at all. It’s horribly violent and nihilistic and seemed to resemble torture porn much of the time. The plot doesn’t seem consistent for already established characters and the delivery and timeline is clumsy to say the least, adding to the misery. Apparently there’s supposed to be a moral lesson in there. I just felt sad.… Expand

    The game is a piece of trash because you're forced to play as Abby for many hours. Why would I want to play as her when she killed Joel in the most sadistic way. She kills him with a golf club.
    I liked Joel from the last game and am invested in him. So I hate Abby yet had to play as her for a long time. You play as Ellie not enough and in the ending she still doesn't even kill Abby. That is so out of character when she has killed a lot of people before. Why would she suddenly not do it?
    Als, the game is basically like a movie. I want a game, not a movie. Cutscenes after cutscenes and some sort of QTE gameplay. Oh please, give me a break.

While killing Joel isnt a bad idea, the way it was executed was poor and theres so many character inconsistences, early in the game Ellie doesnt accept Seths apology and gift for his offensive comments "loud mouthed dyke". Which is justifiable but Ellie cant bring herself to kill Joel's killer snd lets her live. Whats worse is that Abby technically gets her revenge but not Ellie. It tried way hard to be subverted but it failed miserably. The only reasons why im giving it an 8 is because of the fantastic gameplay, graphics, voice acting and music… Expand

I was a huge fan of the 1st game and think this is just as good in another way. I went into Part 2 absolutely appalled that I'd have to play as Abbey after seeing her torture and kill Joel. I couldn't imagine ever empathizing with her, but her flashbacks and the little interactions she has with all her friends (playing fetch with Alice hurt knowing I had to kill that puppy as Ellie) really humanized her for me.

    By getting to play as both Ellie and Abbey, the game offers opposing perspectives that really capture the gravity of the choices each of those two main characters makes and the consequences that follow from those choices. Basically, I loved this game and highly recommend it.    … Expand

    The game is a masterpiece. The visuals are mind blowing. There has never been a better display of character models and facial animation. Gameplay makes you actually think about what you are doing, which is why many can't tolerate it.
    If you are simple minded and need your feelings kept in a safe space, then this may not be a story for you. This story is refreshingly something deep and different.

    I do not know why this game arouses so much hatred, played during the first hours and my god how beautiful this game is. Unmatched facial expressions, incredible audio level and design, and phenomenal graphics make it one of the most beautiful worlds ever created. Thank you Naughty Dog.

The key events not only are poorly scripted, they are unnatural and sometimes painful to watch, when they could have been handled much better. The same happens with the characters, at their core there is potential for a really deep analysis, but the dialogue and actions just make them bland, uninteresting and even unlikeable. I have no doubts that the writers had a great story to tell and a very strong statement towards the current social and political state, but as sometime happens, it failed to deliver, and the unprofessional handling of the early criticism, censoring, extorting and calling for a politicial brawl just made it worse, forcing people to take sides. Devs, there is absolutely no problem with the inclusion of LGBT+ characters and there's absolutely no problem with political views expressed in a game, you just made a bad story and poorly written characters, and if you can´t handle criticism you are not worthy of being praised.… Expand

    Terminei o jogo mais polêmico da geração, e também é um dos melhores que eu joguei. Em termos técnicos, The Last of Us Parte II é um dos melhores da geração. O jogo contém o nível de polimento já conhecido dos outros títulos da Naughty Dog, claro que com a evolução esperada. Visualmente para muitos ele será o mais bonito da geração, apesar de eu ter uma ressalva nessa questão, pois emTerminei o jogo mais polêmico da geração, e também é um dos melhores que eu joguei. Em termos técnicos, The Last of Us Parte II é um dos melhores da geração. O jogo contém o nível de polimento já conhecido dos outros títulos da Naughty Dog, claro que com a evolução esperada. Visualmente para muitos ele será o mais bonito da geração, apesar de eu ter uma ressalva nessa questão, pois em relação a modelo de personagens e até as animações, não vejo ninguém a frente dele, porém no quesito gráfico no geral, vejo alguns títulos a frente, como Red Dead Redemption II, Metro Exodus e Death Stranding. Efeitos sonoros, e principalmente a trilha sonora estão inacreditáveis, forte candidato a melhor trilha sonora do ano. Com destaque pra excelente localização do jogo, certamente uma das melhores até hoje.

    Porém o segundo principal pilar de TLOU2 (além da narrativa) é a jogabilidade, quem diria que a sequência de um jogo taxado como filminho por muitos, teria um foco tão grande na jogabilidade. A furtividade, o combate e a movimentação do personagem em tela estão impecáveis.

    Terminando de falar sobre o nível técnico do jogo, que certamente é uma unanimidade, pra falar o verdadeiro divisor de águas, a narrativa. Tenho muitas ressalvas em relação a história desse jogo, acho que muitas decisões foram tomadas de forma errônea, porém temos que admitir uma coisa, a Naughty Dog teve coragem em fazer o que fez em TLOU2.    … Expand

    Absolutely loved every minute of this game. It plays good and looks good.
    The story line made me happy, sad and angry. This is not a game that is there to make you feel comfy, it is horror.
    Best game of 2020 (for me).
    I would say to anyone give it a go.
    If anyone is offended by the content in this game, remember it is not there to make you feel good.

La verdad una tremenda decepción, el juego tenia todo para ser lo mejor de lo mejor, pero la cagaron con la historia, que termino siendo una historia de venganza pero sin venganza, mataron a Joel (un tipo que se peleó con medio país y más, super precavido y preparado para todo) como a un perro, un extra, encima por un grupo de peleles que ni siquiera tenían la mitad de experiencia que el ni todos juntos, pudieron darle una muerte acorde al tipo de personaje y la verdad no me parece un mal detonante de la trama pero la forma fue ridícula, metieron un montón de tramas paralelas que no suman absolutamente nada a la trama principal, nos obligan a usar una personaje que nos hacen odiar al comienzo de la historia haciendo su parte un disgusto enorme y encima debemos golpear a Ellie que es a quien queremos ver vengarse, no me importa la orientación sexual de los personajes ni la identidad de genero, es más personalmente seguía muy emocionado el romance de Ellie y Dina, Lev me desagradó pero no por ser transgénero pero si porque realmente sumó muy poco a la historia que deseábamos, la única que gana en todo esto es Abby y no Ellie quien seguimos desde el 2013, y aunque la lección sea buena y Ellie renuncia a su venganza igual lo pierde todo, no valió la pena para nada dejar todo eso.
    Los contenidos de inclusión en la narrativa la verdad no molestan pero tampoco suman para nada, por lo menos en este caso.
    En los aspectos técnicos es tremendamente bueno, nada para reclamar y mucho para felicitar, personalmente lo único a destacar, pero no bastó para retirar el trago amargo que deja este juego, juego que su fuerte siempre fue la historia y que si lo arruinan ahí siente que lo pierde todo.    … Expand
