    To be honest, my true score is 9, story is a bit controversial but acceptable for me. But I gave 10 because I saw so many disgusting negative reviews which are totally unfair for the game maker.

    This game makes you face ugly truths about humanity. Its not about petting puppies or killing clickers. Its brutal. Its uncomfortable. Its beautiful. Its also fun as hell to play.

The story goes nowhere, they thought that we can emphatize with a Character that we hated near the beginning of the god damn game.
    What is the grace in kill a pregnant woman without guilt and leave the real killer free? What kind of maniac wrote the script? He or she definitely need to get into a madhouse!    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As a huge fan of the first game, I was excited, and even giddy when I heard there was going to be a sequel. I avoided all the leaks, and went into the game wanting to love it. What I got was a slap in the face to myself, and any other fans of the first game. Though the graphics are easily the best I think I’ve ever seen on the PS4, and the gameplay was improved, and very fun, it unfortunately does not make up for a horrible story. Naughty Dog betrays it’s fans by completely changing the characters in ridiculous ways, flooding the narrative with propaganda, leaving an insane amount of plot holes, and (quite literally once you play the game) spitting on the corpse of the best thing about the story. Naughty Dog has made an objectively horrible game, but since the game is loaded with forced, in-your-face diversity, ND just blows off honest criticism as “trolls” or “homophobes.”

    Imagine if in the first 15 min of Spider-man 2, the daughter of some thug that Spider-man put in jail shows up, brutally kills Peter Parker, then the whole rest of the movie follows that kid as the protagonist, as she hunts down Mary Jane to kill her to. And then when people complain, they’re called bigots for some outlandish reason. THAT’S the Last of Us part 2    … Expand

I was not bothered by Joel's death I knew he was going to die and was pumped to get revenge for him. they succeeded in making us feel for Abby but where they failed is not letting us kill her off.     The Last of us II is an example of a mediocre game following a good one. If this game wasn’t following the success of the first game I doubt it would be disliked nearly as much! The story is bland, unnecessary flashbacks, and etc.

    Os gráficos e a iluminação fazem deste um dos jogos mais bonitos que eu já vi, especialmente na geração atual de consoles, gráficos incrivelmente impressionante supero minhas expectativas. e uma história totalmente diferente e muitas coisas foram adicionadas ao jogo que da uma imersão incrível ao jogo

    This game would be a 10/10 if they removed abby as a playable character, i would still want her in the game because most of the narrative was revolved about her ever since she killed Joel, every time i was playing as abby i felt joy and happiness every time she dies even if it restarts the game to the last checkpoint.

    This game should have been a 10/10 in my opinion if they Joel live for more than the first part of the game and let him die in the end and be given a meaningful death and give Ellie and the player closure, he was a fan favorite and didn't deserve to die like that.
    The things i love, the game is stunning and on par with p.c games in my opinion, the gameplay was smooth and i didn't encounter frame rate drops or glitches, the weapons system was fantastic, the stealth was superbly done, the gore was so good it rivals the gore in mortal kombat games, the details in every environment will make stand there and admire it like the fungus growing in spore filled areas, the amazing scenery in the game is absolutely stunning i had to stop and admire all of it, the Joel and Ellie flashbacks are in my opinion the best parts in the game, this games equals pros and cons because of this game centers itself in negative emotions that makes the player feel angry and upset just like ellie in the game, this game is about revenge and forgiveness and kudos to naughty dog for making me feel the exact same feeling as the character im playing as. 9/10 solid game.     My main issue with this game is the pacing. You play through a good portion of the game as Ellie, investing time and interest into her story, then when it seems the story is coming to a climax you're forced to switch characters to a person you've grown to hate. And honestly, I have absolutely no problem with the writing in Abby's story at all. I don't hate they made me play as Abby. I hate that they made me run through the vast majority of the main conflict as Ellie and when **** finally starts to hit the fan they blueballed me and simultaneously ruins the pacing and momentum the story has been building up to. Mildy annoyed you're left with a half chub from the impending climax, you have no choice but to hate Abby when you start down her story path.
    And the writers really didn't do her any favors. The first few hours playing as Abby do absolutely nothing to help redeem her in the players eyes. In reality it just drives that nail of hatred further into your big toenail making you want to run through her story at lightspeed. And when you intentonally compel the player to not care about, or empathize with the character they've been made to take control of, players don't give too **** if Abby redeems herself. You just want to zoom through her story and see how the standoff plays out. Much like an unwanted step-father's attention; it just feels forced.

    Now I will say that even though Abby's story gives her some surface level redemption, what really made me come around was how fun the gameplay was towards the end of Abby's story.

    You beat some **** ass as Abby. You have some really amazing visuals climbing the skyscraper bridge. And some amazing gameplay featuring action sequences which is mostly lacking from the first half of the game. That is solely where her redemption comes from in my opinion and allowed me to finally connect with her as a character.

    Conclusion: With great gameplay, stunning environments, and generally a pretty decent story with fleshed out characters; the real thing holding this game back from being great is, what I can only assume, artistic liberties/choices taken by the games director. The choice to switch to Abby when he did instead of switching periodically just completely stops all the momentum and tension the story has going for it. "Is Ellie finally going to get this ****

    "Will the people of Jackson get vengeance for Joel's brutal murder on their own turf?"

    "Can Ellie find a way to forgive Joel for robbing her of a sense of meaning from her life?" "Will Abby get bent over a desk by some guy that died 6 hours ago?!?!?"

    These are the questions I found myself asking instead of paying attention to what was supposed to humanize an otherwise ****ty person.

    ENDING: I've seen a lot or people upset that Ellie doesn't kill Abby in the end. Personally I thought it was fine she opted to not kill Abby. Did I think Abby deserved to die? Yes. Did I want her to die? You **** bet, bud.

    The entire duration of Ellie's gameplay we only get flashbacks of Joel where he's painted in a terrible light. (Outside of the museum memory) But finally when we are about to turn that **** Abby's lights out for good we get a flash to a memory of Joel. One where he's not bleeding out on the floor. Or an uncomfortable conversation. We get a flash to a memory of forgiveness. We finally see Joel in a good light, and that's what made me okay with Ellie not finishing the job. Finaly thoughts: This game could have been an easy 9/10 with better direction. So in my opinion its Neil that's to blame for the Lukewarm experience.

    Great game. Really tells a story about grief. It is truly upsetting and disturbing, but it is written so damn well. The reason I'm not giving it a 10 is because I felt like it went a little to far with the brutality towards the end of the game.

    I had some trouble with the story at first but then I remember in a trailer the one of the devs said that we needed an open mind for this game and I think that when you think about it long enough your realize that a complex story like this one is hard to find so we gotta appreciate it.

Joel dying was sad, but it was a driving influence for the entire story, it makes sense. And he did deserve it even if I didn’t want him to die. I had heard that naughty dog were pushing the agenda with Ellie being gay with Dina and the trans character. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that wasn’t the case. People are gay. People are trans. They don’t talk about it a lot throughout and they just try to survive like they should. Felt very real and I was impressed. It’s not a perfect game but it’s close.… Expand

    For tlous, here is the good things : graphic is good, details handling is good, battle system OK,
    BUT THE STORY DESTROY EVERYTHING.
    From the previous trailer, I do believe the original story should be different, which make more sense than the current one. I wish ND do one tlos 2 revised version, or i may stop play ND's game anymore

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The negative reviews are so wrong! This game is a masterpiece! I hate SJWs, first of all, and I hate the agenda. That being said, those things are in everything now. There’s no getting away from it. This game has bits of that and the leakers seem to take great pride in revealing only those things. They didn’t mention the heartfelt flashback to a museum as astronaut Ellie. They didn’t mention the REASON that Abby killed Joel. Playing as Abby was, at first, off putting. I didn’t like it. I was mad at the creators for making me do it. Then something happened. I started to see things through her eyes. I started to care about Abby and her side. I’ll admit that it took a little while, even after finding out that her father was the Dr that Joel killed to save Ellie. Don’t get me wrong, I hate that Joel dies! It was brutal to watch. It hurt. On the same token, I can understand that Abby is not an evil **** She was getting revenge for her father.

    I keep seeing reviewers saying there’s no story. They have not played the game. Period. Nobody can play the full game and say there’s no story. There is tons of story, great story! You just might not like it, so say there’s no story. The story is just as amazing as part one. Joel is there. He’s in the the flashbacks. Ellie finds out what he did at the hospital and hates him for it. She cuts him out of her life and shortly after he is killed. She is ridden with guilt and that’s what drives her vengeance do much. She let him down.

    Stop listening to the bad reviews. You may not like it because of this or that, but you owe yourself to give it a chance. You can tell that the creators put countless hours of blood, sweat and tears into this game. They poured their souls into it. You can feel it throughout. Don’t miss out on this experience just because thousands of fake players say it’s bad. Chances are, you’ll love it!    … Expand

    The gameplay is fantastic and incredibly fun, the graphics are by far the best I have ever seen to date, the music is superb, and the animations are stunning.

    Here is the why the game is a 4/10. The story is so incredibly bad for so many reasons.
    1. Joel was done so filthy, acts completely out of character and the same goes for Tommy.
    2. Everyone acts out of character.
    3 Abby is such an awful character
    4. The game tries to make Ellie the bad guy and tries to make Abby a good person.
    5. WHY DO WE PLAY AS ABBY FOR HALF THE GAME.
    6. The ending is horrible, Abby doesnt die, Ellie loses everything (fingers, girlfriend, baby, Joel)
    7. There is so much more but I dont wanna rant for an hour.
    Im just sad because I waited 7 years and this is what we got.
    If the game gets a dlc and says that the main game was all a dream then I will give it a 10/10    … Expand

Its message was NOT that violence was bad. At least, that's not what I walked away feeling. I walked away with the sense that violence was pointless. Through all the killing from both sides in the game, nothing was accomplished and no one felt like "The good guy" anymore. Of course as Naughty Dog has made us expect, the graphics and sound design were top notch. Many people are criticizing the way a beloved character was taken from us early. But, it fails to portray a fully convincing or entertaining story that was expected as a sequel. Being that this is a story focused game, too much weight was placed on it. It is not a perfect game because I believe this is not possible, but this game is certainly one of the best games created to date. I believe that many people hated the game because of the death of one of the characters most loved by the players and fans of the 1 game and yes, this feeling of anger and anguish is hard and makes you wonder if the game is really worth it, but it wouldn't work without that. This game as stated by the director is about hate and revenge and there would be no greater motivation for Ellie than this one. Another point is about the gameplay with Abby, maybe you wonder why the ND makes you play with the "villain" of the game, for a good amount of hours, until you see the story behind her motivation. Since Ellie and Joel's relationship is incredible, why don't we put Abby in their place, Joel took what she loved most in the world and she focused all her energies in search of that revenge, just as she took what Ellie most loved her in the world, and that took everything away from her, the relationship with the WLF was very superficial, something just to survive, because what mattered to her was only revenge, and after that she had nothing more, but in the end she found it a reason to live that was the meeting with Lev and that even reminds us a little Ellie and Joel (and the relationship built between them in the first game is incomparable). At the end of the game, in the final battle, the game brings a feeling of anguish because you end up falling for Abby throughout the journey and end up worrying about her and at the end of it Ellie realizes that killing her will not fill the void inside her and that wouldn’t justify what she was doing. This is very clear at the end of the game, a bitter, empty feeling, because she lost everything she loved most, but she had to move on.

    About the relationship between Ellie and Dina I didn't think it was forced and it worried me a lot before the game's release, I think it flows naturally, but this is very personal to everyone

    About graphics, I have nothing to say, one of the best ever seen to date

    If there is one point that I think could improve is the variety of faces of the NPCs, it is quite repetitive and as the facial expressions are very realistic you end up remembering them.

    I only touched on the points that I think triggered these polemics of the game, it is much deeper than that and just by playing you can understand this. But this is just my opinion and I hope you respect it ;)    … Expand

The story in this game is warm, wet, diseased diarrhea. Seriously, the worst story of any game I've ever played... ever. The best example I can give is that this is the gaming equivalent of Game of Thrones Season 8. Good writing... NAH! Just have characters do things that are completely out of line with their character and "subvert expectations"! If you're considering this game because you loved the first one... just don't. Just remember it the way it was and don't tarnish the memory, because this game wipes its ass with the first game. This game is beautiful visually and is well made mechanically, I'll give it a couple of points for that but the AI is not good, gameplay is very repetitive and the story is absolute trash.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I was incredibly disheartened when the leaks came out. I thought there was no possible way for the game to have all of those things happen and for me to enjoy it or feel anything besides pure anger. I was SO SO SO wrong.
    The heart of the original was what made it special. While this does have fewer moments that show that off, the moments that do REALLY do. I can safely say most of my favorite scenes from either game happened in the sequel.
    The game overall feels like the original; it is dark and violent but not any more than the first. While the first was mostly about doing what it takes to protect the ones you love, this one is about what it does to a person when they can’t.
    SPOILERS BELOW:
    The part that I was least looking forward to was playing as Abby. The game definitely surprised me by making her story one that eventually made me grow to tolerate her and even had me invested in the game. I think a big part of that was Lev. Love that little guy.
    However, I did not feel much for Abby even after playing as her for (far too many) hours. I think the creators made a mistake with how they decided to have her kill Joel. The whole game tries to parallel Abby and Ellie, but there are a few fundamental differences that make it impossible for me to like or side with Abby. The first and most important being the way she relishes in killing an torturing Joel. We see Ellie kill and torture Nora, but we see the impact it has on her after. The creators dug themselves into a hole that is impossible to come out of by showing Abby killing Joel in such a cruel way with absolutely no remorse. I also really struggled with the game trying to compare Joel killing Abby’s dad (to protect Ellie) to what Abby did to Joel. I’m sure that it felt no different to Abby but they are ABSOLUTELY not the same.
    I also have a hard time deciding how I feel about the final part of the game. I’m very conflicted. At first I absolutely wanted to see Ellie kill Abby and get revenge. The whole game, even as Abby, I just kept thinking “I cant wait for her to die!!!” Once Ellie decided to go find Abby, I felt angry about the decision. She had a family that she was giving up. It did not feel worth it to me. I did think that having her go due to her PTSD was a much more interesting choice than “SHE NEEDS VENGEANCE”. It almost made it seem like the right decision. To be totally honest I could have done without that final part completely. But, that final part was the first time I actually felt for Abby. During the final fight I just kept thinking “you’ve both been through so much, just stop” and I think that’s what the creators wanted of me.

    Overall, I really enjoyed the game. If they had made Abby kill Joel off screen (or in a way where she didn’t immediately get branded as an irredeemable person in every player’s mind) I think I would have been able to empathize with her more (and maybe even like her). Then the battle in the theater could have been the final and we could have gotten rid of the last part. It wouldn’t need to exist or feel as rushed and unnecessary as it did.    … Expand

Weapon handling is very satisfying and there's great variety of weapons, enemies and strategies Having played the full game, I can't think of any better game on this generation. For me it beats Red Dead Redemption 2 (which is comparable in tone, looks, gameplay and scope). It looks better than God of War, which is saying a lot. Combat is as intense as any war game.

Loved the first game immensely and I haven't played a game in a long time that was so ambitious with it's narrative, so what if it made me uncomfortable in parts, that's good and it's doing what was intended. I liked that it wasn't trying to be the first game and was attempting to be its own thing. Joel's death wasn't dignified but why does it have to be? Death rarely is and it felt more believable this way. Game of Thrones tore my heart out several times with character deaths and I still loved it.

    I agree that the story was a little clunky in parts and yes there were a few plot holes and they could have pushed Abby's character further in getting me to invest more emotionally in her but I was still drawn to her side more as Ellie's. Ellie just seemed dumb to continue but she's stunted emotionally and it makes sense for her flawed character to keep making the same mistakes/decisions. Also good to see female leads that aren't over sexualised or playing the 'damsel in distress'.

    This game was daring and progressive in a world that asks for that but rarely appreciates it when it gets it.    … Expand

Lo único malo son los NPCs, ya que son súper genéricos y en una ocasión me encontré al mismo NPC a pasos de distancia de sí mismo. Pero es comprensible. Respecto a la historia y narrativa. Los desarrolladores han hecho uso de sus facultades y su libertad creativa... pero sí, le faltó realismo en un punto: nadie en esa historia parecía tener la madurez suficiente para expresar que todo lo que estaban haciendo por venganza no llevaría a nada bueno. Quizá fue Dina quien apenas mostró algo de sensatez en cierta parte de la historia. Los demás personajes podían hacer cosas buenas, pero siempre era por egoísmo. La verdad en general me gustó el juego la historia no estuvo tan mala como la califican varias personas, lo q no me gustó fue la forma de mejorar las armas porque le quito el realismo, como es posible que se saque una mira telescópica de la mochila o simplemente la crea a partir de los tornillos que se van recolectando a lo largo del juego, los objetos de mejoras debieron irse recolectando y ahí si colocarlos en las armas… Expand

I felt each character was interesting and while at first I hated Abby and her friends, the more I played as her, the more I grew to like her as a character. (I won’t lie though, during the fight in the theatre between her and Ellie I was rooting for Ellie to kick Abby’s ass.) There are some aspects of this game that I would personally change, but the few things I have problems with don’t affect how I feel about the outcome of the game. I don’t mind that Ellie decided to let her go. Obviously everyone’s opinions are their own, but this is a game you need to play with an open mind and with empathy for a character we immediately learn to hate. Abby doesn’t have to be our favorite character (she’s definitely not mine), but she has suffered with loss as well and to write her off as nothing more than a mustache-twirling villain would be wrong. You don’t necessarily have to love the story to enjoy the gameplay. This game was so much fun to explore and I urge everyone to play it to completion with an open mind to gather your own thoughts on how you felt about the experience. I personally will be playing it again because I already know there are things I’ve missed on my first play through. The new characters are so enjoyable. I love Dina, Jesse, Yara, Lev, and even Manny managed to grow on me. I wasn’t a huge fan of Owen or Mel, but I still felt for them. I also loved reading through Ellie’s journal! It was such a nice touch that gave us insight on her thoughts and feelings, especially since she has grown to become more quiet and reserved as a character. The scenery was breathtaking. I loved riding around on Shimmer (RIP Shimmer) and taking in the surroundings. The overgrown plant life and desolated buildings were so cool to explore. I also thoroughly enjoyed descending that huge building as Abby when we are with Lev. The infected are pretty great. The Stalkers were unnerving, as were the infected that just decided to pop out of the walls for no good reason other than to make my life harder than it needs to be. The Shamblers sucked, but just because they scared the **** out of me. The Rat King had me yelling and making rounds on that hospital floor like a big baby. By the end of that encounter I was just wishing for some good old fashioned Clickers. As for my final thoughts: this game was beautifully done overall. I wish we got more time with Ellie but I understand why we didn’t. I’m crossing my fingers for a DLC or a potential third game. I hope you get the chance to enjoy the game for yourself!
