    Incredibly crafted and a great sequel that visits the harsh reality of the world in The Last of Us. The game takes risks that pay off but also allows the player to question their own morals whilst following this journey.

Es un juego muy realista, crudo y que no todo el mundo llegará a entender, pero es una auténtica joya, y creo que quien no lo haya jugado debería intentar darle una oportunidad.… Expand

    I didn't like the story, or the characters, except Joel and Tommy, the old ones. The gameplay, graphics, sound is pretty amazing.

    Just finished the game. Although there were some minor things I didn't like about the game, it was an overall great game. Despite the hate this game is getting I actually enjoyed the story and I thought the ending was perfect.

    First things first, no, it doesn't have a PC or LGBTQ+ agenda. Ellie is gay and a secondary character is trans, that's it. There are no explicit queer sex scenes (though you do see a 30 second heterosexual sex scene - consensual with a bit of boob, definitely    No spoilers, except maybe some for themes and content, like drug use and sex scenes. No plot or story spoilers, I promise.

    First things first, no, it doesn't have a PC or LGBTQ+ agenda. Ellie is gay and a secondary character is trans, that's it. There are no explicit queer sex scenes (though you do see a 30 second heterosexual sex scene - consensual with a bit of boob, definitely nothing that would push the limits of the 18 rating). The most explicitly gay stuff you see is kissing and general cuteness between girlfriends, if you think that's an agenda then I don't know what to tell you, you live in a bubble and queer folks exist, get over it.

    It's pretty grim and gruesome, the deaths are a lot more hard hitting. If you shoot someone in the leg and they bleed out, they'll scream and writhe for several seconds, there's more fear in their faces when you kill them, they sometimes beg for their lives, the people watching their friends die are more authentically messed up by it, stuff like that. Not something that will bother everyone, but I'd say that's the nastiest bit of the game in terms of overall gameplay. Once again if you're more offended by a bit of boob and a consensual sex scene, IDK what to tell you. There's also a bit of weed use and a mention of a grumpy old alcoholic, if those are deal breakers for you.

    Graphics are amazing, sound design is great, and the gameplay itself is very similar to the first game, but just a little bit better. IMO it's perfect, I hate when they change too much in the sequels when the original was so good. If it's not broke don't fix it, you know? And The Last of Us Part II honours that, it basically expanded on the original combat without changing much at all. Oh, except one thing - Clickers ACTUALLY use echolocation now (they just used hearing in the first game) and they don't bloody tell you, I must have died a dozen times before I realised they can "see" you if you stand in front of them while they're making noises.

    As for the rest... basically it's a game about how much you can mess yourself up in the pursuit of revenge. It's a game that hurts you then tells you to get over it, because staying angry will only ever leave you unsatisfied and unhappy. It's true to life, moreso than most of us would like, and at times it's frustrating, tedious, or even in-your-face insulting. The game doesn't care if you like it or not, it doesn't care if it makes you feel bad, and it doesn't care about making you feel better. Pretty much every criticism I've seen against the game so far (that this plot point should have been different, that the pacing is weird, that you don't care about that character, that you're not satisfied with the ending, etc) can be answered with "yes, I know, that's literally the point." Once you get your head around that, it's a good game that achieves exactly what I believe it set out to achieve.

    If that sounds interesting to you then I say go for it, maybe watch a playthrough first (I recommend JackSepticEye or GabSmoulders purely because they seems to be the only YouTubers thus far who actually get it) or wait for it to come on sale, or keep your eyes open on marketplaces online or CEX and similar trade-in stores, I'm sure there will be a lot of copies there soon enough. Do actually play the game though if you want to criticise it, and be wary of those with generic copy/paste reasons for disliking it, such as an unsatisfying ending or a dislike for the "PC agenda" it doesn't have.    … Expand

Honestly I am so disappointed with naughty dog and I just wish this game never existed in the first place. First of all, there was absolutely no need for a sequel because the game should have just ended with Ellie and Joel arriving at Jackson. If they really wanted to make a sequel then they should have just made a DLC where they don't kill Joel like its nothing and make a completely new character which shows up out of nowhere. The thing that makes the game so bad isn't just the fact that they killed Joel but the fact that they made Ellie dislike him because he tried to save a childs life. Why would you make her dislike him when shes too young to even decide for herself? Whats even worse is that naughty dog puts 8 hours of gameplay with Abby, the character that shouldn't have even existed and that is utterly despised for murdering Joel. I find this part truly disgusting because they tried to make us have sympathy for her? Why the **** would you do that naughty dog? This part of the game just makes me hate her more and makes me feel 0 sympathy towards her. I honestly wish someone questioned Neil Druckmann when he was making up this story, if he was actually sane at the time of creating the storyline. Lastly I beg you not to play this game if you wish to continue liking the last of us franchise because the sequel ruined it for me. Thank you naughty dog for ruining a game that was amazing.… Expand

    It's hard to give this game less than slightly above average due to it's technical accomplishments in nearly every department. From the voice acting and character models all the way down to the lamp on the table everything is masterfully done. The combat is good enough to carry you through a great story except there isn't a great story. There won't be a 10 year anniversary video for The Last of Us 2 like the Witcher 3 got. You'll be ready to move on immediately to wash the taste out of your mouth.

However, everything else gameplay wise is still the same. Only thing I could see that was added was the ability to go prone and sprint jump. Everything else is just ehh and even the AI from the first game was a lot more aggressive as in TLOU2 the enemies literally forget about you and have a tendency to go into hiding if they find you. I was really looking forward to this game and would have never thought that The Last of Us would even get a sequel. I was holding off on buying this game and saw my brother play it so I can get a feel for how the story plays out for the first couple of hours. Though well into hour 2, I made my mind up that I would much rather look into using my $60 elsewhere. It wasn't about Joel dying, it was how he went out and it was just the most idiotic and uncharacteristic way to go out. Then Naughty Dog expects us to play as the killer half way into the game, which is just something that turns me off. I don't wanna be forced to play with someone that I completely and utterly don't care about and have shoved down our throats as the main character. I could care less about the backstory for Abby, she is a terribly written character and don't see why having the doctor be tied into this story. The ending in itself is just atrocious. I was looking forward to having Abby killed but instead we have an ending of Ellie letting her go and not getting revenge. This game is in the end pointless and the journey was pointless. If Abby was at least killed, I would have given this a slightly higher score but my rating stands. In my eyes, this game is not canon and I am still waiting on the real Last of Us Part II.… Expand

    1.5 bonus points for the bravery of ND to told the Story in such innovated but risky way.

I went into this game open minded after the leaks which I surprisingly avoided and I have to say I absolutely love this game it’s not just a story about revenge it’s way more than that it gives you perspective, it shows you what this world is actually like which is dark and cruel, a lot of people are saying well this character deserved better and I think that for the people that are saying that maybe this genre just isn’t for you because in a world like this it doesn’t matter who you are or if your a good or bad person none of that determines how your last breath will come and that’s what makes this so fascinating EVERYTHING feels so real, especially with the great facial animations and just overall acting in this game is phenomenal, another thing that I love about this game just like the first is Ellie, this game shows you that just because she’s gotten older doesn’t mean she all of a sudden likes to kill, no. She has a hard time with it she’s in pain and well disgusted at the thing she’s doing just to get to this one person and what I love so much about the ending is that by the end she realizes this, she realizes that this path she took didn’t make things better it made things for her so so much worse and you see some of her humanity return to her by the decision she makes in the end and I for one really loved that, there’s a new character in this game which I’m sure everyone knows now Abby, and while I’m neutral on how I feel about her I have to say her motivations to do the thing she does at the beginning of the game is absolutely 100% justified in my eyes and that’s all I’ll say on that because I don’t want to go too deep into spoilers. Abby is a **** person and she realizes that and wants to become a better overall person which is why she goes on the journey she goes on in this game, and I have to say while there is so much Abby hate some her sections in this game are absolutely insane especially the hospital and her final section, both really great and just VERY fun to play through, and the graphics in this games are absolutely phenomenal I mean if the PS4 wants to shows it’s full power before next gen this game sucked everything out of this console to do just that and it was amazing, the gameplay again in my opinion was some of the most satisfying and just overall fun time I’ve ever had playing a game, so yea by the end of it I love this game so much I’ve gone through it twice and enjoyed the hell out of it both times I’d recommend this game to anyone just for the full on insane experience and emotional rollercoaster this game puts you through, 10/10 for me.… Expand

    I have just completed the game. Never felt compelled to write a review on here before but I wanted to when I saw some of the genuinely confusing low reviews. Lots of people saying the game is visually amazing, great gameplay but they don't like the story and giving the game a zero? Bizarre!
    This was easily one of the best games I have ever played in my nearly 4 decades of gaming.    I have just completed the game.     This game (despite all the hate) is the best game I've ever played. The stunning graphics, action combat and the best story ever told in video games. I don't know why Ellie goes on a killing rampage because my bigger brother didn't let me to watch the first 2 hours of the game but it seems great and fun!!! Still haven't finished the game, I'm on a 6th hour right now. Can't wait to see howThis game (despite all the hate) is the best game I've ever played. All in all ist The Last of Us Part II one of the best games I ever played. The death from Joel is unexpected and very hard. At first I was very angry about this decision. After a few days, I think that was the right decision from Naughty Dog. I can´t understand the bad reviews. In may opinion Naughty Dog did a good job.… Expand

E as coisas que o diretor da Naughty Dog, Neil Druckmann, escolheu colocar no jogo foram completamente erradas, e destruiu a experiencia de quem jogou o primeiro e se tornou fã. Não agrada nem mesmo os que estão jogando The Last of Us pela primeira vez. Mataram Joel de forma gratuita e ofensiva, o diretor inclusive colocou um personagem igual a si próprio cuspindo no Joel.     I loved the first game. It is probably one of my favourites of all time and I've played it maybe 6 or 7 times. I also watch playthroughs of it quite a lot while I work. I was even going to get a tattoo of it. Part 2's gameplay, graphics and cast are excelent. Best gameplay I've every played. So amazing seeing different people and lgbtq represented. However the story is not good. It feelsI loved the first game. It is probably one of my favourites of all time and I've played it maybe 6 or 7 times. It feels to me like they were trying to subvert expectations so hard that they lost sight of what the players actually liked about the first game. The story manages to be so slow, yet you feel rushed during certain areas. It's a very simple concept story wise, however it can come accross as lazy and boring. If they wanted to do the revenge anger story line there were other ways to do it that didn't involve THAT scene, but that's my personal opinion. You can tell in certain areas where they are trying so hard to make you feel something for certain characters, which spoils it. They give other characters better weapons and upgrades, just so as you'll enjoy playing as them more. Towards the end it felt too jumpy story wise. What was good about the first game was it only time jumped through seasons and the very start, however I feel like they made left behind, and because it did well, they decided to use that formula. However it doesn't work as well here, it's just so jumpy through many different times that it's messy and disorientating. I am honestly so disappointed. I think there's a way to respect what the players wanted and not pander to them, however this wasn't it. But subverting expectation so badly and so much it feels like a Game of thrones season 8 catastrophe. Naughty dog seems to always hit stories out of the park but this one was a miss for me. I'm so gutted.… Expand

I dont feel they added enough new infected types of enemies so that was a bit of a disappointment. To the real reason the game upsets me is the narrative direction ND took the fame. I said feom day one that the first last of us was damn near the perfect game. It ended in such a way it didn't need a sequel and making one would definitely fall short of the first and ruin the magic the first one created. I feel that scenario I imagined has come true. So to recap. Amazing graphics. Good solid gameplay but a very lacklusyer narrative that graphics and gameplay couldn't carry. Im giving it a 2/10. The score might seem harsh but I feel ND let fans down and really ignored the things that made the first one special and to try and be out there and go for shock value only shocked in the wrong way and led to gamers joining together to review bomb the game. Also the rumored horrible work environments and early leaks didnt help.… Expand

    This game is frustrating mainly in the parts, that I am forced to play with Abby, I don't know what the devs thought when they were creating this game but what a sadness 7 years for that, it is just sad.

Я понимаю почему эта игра получила такую критику. 1. ЛГБТ (так все кричат), хотя я ничего ужасного тут не увидел. То есть группа геи,лесбиянки и так далее в поп культуре вам норм, а тут это мерзко. 2.И так. Из-за низких оценок пользователей и бурной критики игры, я и купил эту игру. И скажу я вам, что как черствый человек не каждая игра может достать из меня эмоции, а вот эта смогла. Я понимаю почему эта игра получила такую критику. 1. Ellie's beloved position in the game is reduced to nothing but a vessel of hatred for a cliched journey of a "revenge goes nowhere" trope. Joel, the beloved father figure, the paragon of what made The Last Of Us symbolical in its powerful narrative and poignant themes, is nothing more but a wasted plot device, or rather, a cheap shocker.

    The skeletal frames of The Last Of Us are almost non-existent in its successor. The gameplay and graphics will be soon overshadowed by the soon-to-come games, and it's saving grace could have been its faithfulness to the original, but no. We were not granted that respect.

In my opinion, the risks that Naughty Dog took with this game really pay off and deliver a story that was deeply harrowing and challenging. The twist that comes about half way through the game took me by surprise and forced me to rethink my previous convictions. Although I was first resistant to this twist, I soonThe Last of Us Part 2 is Naughty Dog's most ambitious and bold game yet. In my opinion, the risks that Naughty Dog took with this game really pay off and deliver a story that was deeply harrowing and challenging. The twist that comes about half way through the game took me by surprise and forced me to rethink my previous convictions. Although I was first resistant to this twist, I soon came around to what Naughty Dog was trying to do with the story and, by the time the credits rolled, I thought that the twist was a stroke of genius.

    However, I did find that the pacing of the story lagged a bit in the second half. I think most, if not all, of the story beats were needed in order to tell the story, but perhaps some of the game's combat encounters could have been cut down or removed in order tighten up the second half's pacing.

    Speaking of gameplay, if you enjoyed the first game's combat, you're going to love it in Part 2. Although the combat remains largely the same, new movement options - such as going prone, squeezing through tight spaces, and hiding in tall grass - offer the player knew options when tackling combat encounters. Although none of these added features are new to gaming at large, their inclusion in Part 2 is certainly a welcome addition. Coupled with the game's detailed animation system, the gameplay feels fluid, visceral and frantic.

    Some other notable mentions: the acting in this game is phenomenal, as you'd expect given the standard set by the first game. All the actors bring their A-game and there's not a single weak link in what is huge cast of characters. The cutscenes are beautifully animated and extremely impressive. You can see tiny details, such as characters' pupils dilate, veins popping, and even the removing of a character's shirt with realistic fabric physics and no clipping (I don't think I've ever seen that in a game before). It's clear that a huge attention to detail was paid in order to make this game look as good as it does, and squeeze as much out of the PS4 as possible.

    Overall, the game is a technical masterpiece with intense gameplay. I found the story very compelling, with some minor pacing issues, however I think it is also important to acknowledge how divisive the game has been. This is not a story for everyone. It's very heavy and exhausting to play, and I don't think anyone could have guessed the direction this story would go (prior to the leaks, of course.) And although some people (quite a lot actually) won't like the direction of this story, I believe the more open-minded you go into this game, the more likely you are to appreciate and respect what it's trying to do.    … Expand

I feel like I've wasted hours of my life for nothing, i couldn't even bond with some characters cause the game already told me they where dead before i got to bond with them. The story when boiled down to bullet points is simple and seemingly poor, but it's not about that, it's about the moment to moment character experiences and challenges your ability to empathise it simply cannot be told in a few short plot points, much like the original game - when boiled down is also seemingly paper thin but astoundingly deep beneath the surface.

    This is a game about parallels, pain and the futility in pursuing hatred. Those that responded to this with vitriol are ironically the people best served to learn from the story being told.

    The gameplay is expansive and fun, fights are brutal, violent and astoundingly dynamic and cinematic. The visuals are the best I've seen this console generation, to the point where I can't wait to see this on the PS5 with some more gumption - the fact that is even runs on the PS4 as well as it does is amazing.

    How anyone can think this is anything short of one of the greatest games of this generation is bewildering. If you love the original game, go in with an open mind and use that trust built up through the previous story telling. Even though I’ve marked it accordingly, there are spoilers ahead but I WILL NOT spoil the end. Still, proceed at your own caution. The Last of Us Part II is one of the greatest games of this generation and this morning’s news of it being the best selling PS4 exclusive game ever prove that. The main story has a roller coaster of affects. Abby as a playable character that you have to use for 10 hours was probably not the best option Naughty Dog could’ve taken and especially when you have to fight Ellie as Abby in the concluding moments was a bad part of the story. Other parts of the story were great like the parts where you get swarmed by runners as Abby very early in the game and when you go on the adventure to the aquarium are really fun and enjoyable to play. The gameplay is also great. You now get different books that unlock different upgrade paths to upgrade Ellie and Abby. You also collect collectables throughout the story to create a collection. All in all, the newly designed gameplay mechanics work well with this game. My last point is graphics. They are phenomenal. People used to go crazy about RDR2 graphics but this game almost feels like Ellie and other characters are real people and not animated. The scenery is truly breathtaking. From the incredible snowy mountains, to flooded and decaying buildings with the vines growing throughout, this game looks like real life. I can only imagine what a remastered version is going to be like. In summary, Part 2 is a great sequel to the first, it deepens understandings of characters through amazing graphics. Even though the story gets a little dicey at times, the rest makes up for it. I truly recommend you to play this.… Expand

    The only reason I gave an 9 is because I played just first 5 hours of the game otherwise probably I will give a 10. So far is a great game from my perspective, I don’t care about any LGBT **** in the game, I just enjoy the game and period. Beautiful looking and a good story with twists and turns ! It leaves you exploring concepts and characters for days, having you invested in storylines you thought you never could have been. The gameplay is also 10/10, the improvement in the enemy classes of the infected is just on a whole new level. Fighting human enemies is equally as fun as they introduce this sense of gritty realism into the play style.     Je suis pourtant un grand fan du premier mais là l’idéologie a clairement pris le dessus sur l’histoire , Neil Druckmann a juste bousillé un des meilleurs jeu de tout les temps.

    This is a revenge story......... without the revenge, comeback, action or satisfaction I was hoping for my favorite character to get. Graphics are 10/10, but when your game bugs and glitches non-stop then graphics = 0/10. Message to naughty dog, stop trying to be you, be like someone better than you cause this game is ****

    game play is on another level comparing with tlou1, IA of the enemy is surprisingly real like never game done before and what to say about technical sector.
    The plot can divide,personally i've loved the Ellie's redemption trip but i felt like a change in narrative rhythm in the last 4 hours of the game and a final fight a little bit unrealistic a great game anyways

Old and familiar characters act totally different as if the character development they had in the previous game was forgotten and new ones are bland boring and not sympathetic; the Abby portions are a pain to go through, so much so that at times I felt like stop playing, even Ellie acted like a total ****, so much that it was also hard to cheer for her. Is as if the developers forgot what made the first game so memorable. The ending, just adds insult to injury. Graphics are the best of this generation, 10/10 regarding that aspect… Expand

    Great gameplay, bad story but with a few cool moments sprinkled in. Feels like it's trying to manipulate us against our favourite characters.

It's a good game, massive improvement from the first, yes the story is a bit dragged Joel dies, well how the *** did some people watch Game of Thrones then? Anyway. A bit shorter that I expect. And just wanted to say that my PS4 was literally a jet plane during the whole play session. But that must be because this is a next gen game played on current gen machine.… Expand

    I've just finished it. 10/10 isn't enough to rate this game. Part I suprised me how game can get to me and this is nothing compared to Part II. Thank you Noughty Dog. To all others: finish this game before you rate it.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
