    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First half of the game was brilliant. I felt for Ellie and grieved with her. I happily joined her spiral into darkness. The world looks amazing and you truly feel you are years into the apocalypse. But half way in, the game forces me emphasize with Abby by making me play as her. The game shows her softer side and the suffering she endured from Joel's actions in game one. You make soms friends, you pet a couple of dogs, find and help the only transgender kid in the entire apocalypse and your daddy dies. But after all of this (10hours) I still found myself not caring for this girl at all. Once upon a time 'the last of us' would find it enough to insinuate thinks like love, personal growth, but also sexual preference and/or identity. But part 2 has lost all sense of subtlety.
    Instead it force-feeds you that, what once was said with just a look or hint. I get that Lev wants to be a boysoldier but was born a girl. I got it when his former scar friends called him Lily. I got it when Lev then calls atention to it. And i still got when his sister again spells it out for anyone that must have missed it the first couple of times.
    I get it! You scored and made your progressive point. I dont care! But stop thinking im stupid and stop ramming it down my throat.

    The whole Abby part took me out of the game.
    I want to like her but she killed and tortured what feels like my father and or mentor.
    I found that, while playing as her I stopped looting (which is a shame because the environments are gorgeous),
    I couldn't be bothered to play stealthy and didn't really care if and when I died.
    I basically rushed through the game just to get it over with. Unbelievable that journalists gave the grades they did!!! Anything above a 7 is a complete bought and payed for LIE!    … Expand

    What a waste of potential... I was expecting this game since i was a child but i am really dissappointed. Great graphics, slightly better gameplay than the first one but an awful story and story telling in my opinion.

Sonuç olarak başlarda oyunu beğenmeme rağmen ortada bir başyapıt var ve 3. oyunun sinyalini verdiğini hissediyorum. “Bir hırsızın sonu” noktası gibi bir nokta atılmamış ve virgül koyup devam dediklerini düşünüyorum. Benim görüşüm bu kıyamete güzel bir son verilmelidir. Oyunda olmasaydı dediğim yerler çok olsa da oyunu bitirip şöyle kuş bakışı baktığım zaman ya güzel oyundu bee dedim ama mutlu da değilim, hüzünlüyüm tıpkı Iron man öldüğünde olduğum gibi...     I don't think is a bad game. The problem is that it's called The Last of Us, so I was hopping for a much better story where we could see how characters were going to fully develop their personalities. Instead, they tried to create new characters so that they could justify a couple of nonsense actions. I didn't enjoy some parts of the game because they force you to emphasize with someI don't think is a bad game. Feels boring in most parts voice acting is amazing but Ellie’s revenge is so weak letting her go at the end after losing a finger. Find the ending when she can’t play the song pretty much sums up the game boring and generic. Story is the weakest part of the game shame it’s the main point of a game as it feels like it’s forcing you to feel emotion for shock value… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Well, after finishing this MASTERPIECE, yes I said MASTERPIECE, i've to say that is one of the best games ive ever played.
    Graphics 10/10, The game experience has improved a lot.
    Ive enjoyed the history so much, in my opinion everything is correct, the LGBT "inclusion" or the Ellie and Diba's romance doesn't disturbe our adventure through this game.
    I can understand people who hated the game cause the early death of our beloved Joel, and also can understand the bad opinions to Abby. I hated too Abby when she killed Joel but, I saw her like a nasty assassin, but when I played hours with her on the flashbacks, I started to enjoy Abby. She really have a very good history, I like her relation with Owen and the journey with Lev (I loved this boy). It's difficult to love Abby, but I lied if I say she is a bad character or she destroy the history, because that's false.
    The final with Ellie and Abby in that dark beach is awesome, very hard, plenty of emotions. I that point of the history, the revenge has already not sense, so i liked they stop to fight (but to be honest I prefered to kill Abby, Ellie is my Ellie).
    The final with Ellie in the farm is strange, she lost everything she had and wanted cause de revenge. The last image, Ellie leaving the Joel's guitar make us a little confused, but I think is something that we can suppose or try to imagine...
    The best way to discover this adventure is playing, not believing the false reviews of people who are scared of play with an homosexual girl as main character or play with a strong woman.

    I think this game was amazing and all about perspective and character and world building. The cast and crew did an amazing job with writing and acting. It was an emotional ride and tied with the first game as my favorite games of all time thank you Naughty Dog for the wonderful experience that was these 2 games and I look forward to future games.     A very emotional story, immersive gameplay and amazing graphic/performance.
    The only bad thing is the ps fan noise.

    storytelling in this one reminds me of the 8th season of GAme OF thrones.
    Addy's point of view is dragged soo much I constantly found myself trying to rush it through.
    I think it's not worts 79.99 CAD before tax.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. One of the best games I have every played, a definite masterpiece. I played this game back to back with Last of Us Part I and not able to put down the controller. The main characters have very intricate personalities and at the same time predictable and unpredictable behavior, just like any of us. Everybody in the game is imperfect and evolving or devolving depending on the arc.

    Acting, photography, sound, and music was impeccable creating an incredible immersive experience.

    There is a lot of "treasure hunting" and it can break the climate and pace. I recommend leaving deep scavenging to a second play though. When you are rushing to save lives, stopping to grab artifacts is just wrong. It is amazing that the game tackles even that. I recall taking time to go around to find an artifact for a trophy, the NPC would sarcastically say that it was waiting for you. Don't recall the exact words, but it is striking.

    It is sad the game frustrated so many people for various reasons. Maybe i was immune to that because I absolutely do not go after news, reviews or watch videos about the game prior to playing. The only media I have watched was the official release videos from Naughty Dog and Sony. I knew nothing that could spoil my experience.

    Like most people, I almost deleted the game upon watching the gore death of Joel. That was a sucker punch, the feelings were a mix of hate, frustration, sadness. But i kept playing, I wanted to make sense of what was going on. As the game concluded, the negative emotions were gone and I feel Joel is finally at peace with himself and Ellie.

    Owen was such an underrated protagonist. He was the only person that could talk Abby out of it, but out of vengeance and love for Abby, he decided not to antagonize. I don't think he regretted been part of Joel's murder, but he made sense of the world, decided to value life and inspired Abby to change.

    This is one of the few games that make sense of violence and guns. Murder is just gratuitous and easy. It is the solution for every problem humanity has. And that is at the center of both parts. Joel refusing to let Ellie die for a chance to save humanity, was the first spark to change status quo. It repeats during Abby and Ellie's arc when they finally realize that violence and killing just leaves you alone and mentally disturbed. Abby saving the seraphite kids and Ellie sparing Abby's life is redemption for the human race. The only way forward.

    I wish more people would see the game in the same light was I did. It was the most emotional gaming experience ever. I will never forget it.    … Expand

Neil Druckmann should be fired for this massive failure of a sequel and the first massive failure of a playstation exclusive. I mean seriously who self inserts themselves into a game just to spit on joels dead body and then make the most hideous sex scene in history which is funny because sony seems to censor any other nudity in any game, devil may cry 5 for example. The fact that ellie just lets abby go after all the killing made the whole plot irrelevant and not worth the 20+ hours of gameplay. I really hope naughty dog gets rid of the loser because he will only cause them to lose money.… Expand

    Graphics : No other word than beautiful! Just like the first game in the series you can see the care taken to show a world that is being taken back after the outbreak. The characters models as well are extremely well done.     Game play: Yes it’s a little dated compared other faster playing games and the controls feel sometimes clunky just like the original, but it wasn’t broken then and isn’t now. Knowing that that your character is likely to sometimes stall at an obstacle and can’t wall jump, back-flip or negotiate the chapters like a professional free runner adds to the thrill of the combat in the sometimes claustrophobic environments.

    Music Voice Acting and Sound effects : Are all fantastic and you can feel the emotion and effort put in by the actors.

    Story: I Loved it in the end! This game took me on a roller coaster of emotions, I felt happy, sad, angry, shocked and at certain points numb in a complete state of disbelief. I love complex characters and the main characters choices in this story can seem wrong or not what you would expect. Once I finished it I sat back and went over their points of view I came to the conclusion that what I thought I wanted out of this sequels story wasn’t what I got but it did everything a good story does and that doesn’t make it a bad one!    … Expand

    Mi comentario, pasará inadvertido, pero @Neil_Druckmann y @Naughty_Dog, corrieron un gran riesgo y tu vieron mucho Huevo. Unos de mis hijos se llama Joel, para que se entiendan. Aplaudo este gran desafío y agradezco el arte que lograron en este juego. Por muchos juegos más así.

    The story is trash. The gameplay is the same of the 1st game 7 years ago, the enemies are almost the same. The AI is stupid. Good graphics, level design and mocap work

    Although the game has an outstanding graphic and more or less engaging gameplay (which still becomes a bit tiring after 20+ hours), writing and story in general are so weak and that's destroys everything. Moreover, Abby makes almost the half of the game absolutely meaningless. I wonder whose idea was that (Mr. Druckman    Six years of waiting and we've got THIS... Naughty Dog screwed up.

    Game is a masterpiece! The story, music, visuals... It makes you feel so many emotions. Don't trust the review bombers, play the game, you will love it!

    The reason i play story driven given games is because it gives me a context and a motive to do what i do in the game. The story is supposed to match my state of mind as a player and drive me to act. The last Crap part 2 has none of that. The game forces me to play as a character i loath and thinks giving me a flashback of them will make me sympathize, but i don't care.

    If you played the first one you are gonna hate this one, if you didn't play the first one, you might enjoy this one because u have no attachment to the characters. .

    Naughty Dog didn't take a risk to create something amazing like Death Stranding, they didn't try something different, they just decided to appeal politically to an ideological group that doesn't even play video games. And sacrificing the Legacy and the fans was okay to them. Never trust a studio, trust the game maker. Naughty dog died after Amy Hennig left.    … Expand

In my point of view by showing Abby as the protagonist, I can see, feel her side. We love Joel, but we know that he killed many people, after all he made many enemies for all these years and at some point or time his death would come. The game shows how revenge can destroy the lives of everyone around you and the consequences. The story does not end well for anyone, as well as for someone who holds hatred in their hearts. For those who say this story was bad, it has to be someone without a modicum of interpretation. The game is not about revenge, but about empathy. This game is amazing.Thank you Naughty Dog!

    I've been playing this game since it was first launched. From a technical point of view, it looks great. The AI is very bad. Dina is boring. Ellie is no longer funny or fun. They changed Joel so that they could kill him. As good as the visuals are, as bad the story is. I haven't finished the game yet, as I'm trying to own it on Survival mode - 1st play through.

    Minha gameplay durou por volta de 25 horas, acredito que em mais 2 horas e uma nova gameplay para platina.
    O game aborda em seu enredo temas que ainda incomoda muitas pessoas por falta de instrução familiar, ou apenas pre-conceito mesmo.
    Cada minuto da minha experiência o enredo me envolvia, nenhum minuto o game se tornou cansativo.
    É emocionante e também te deixa dividido no que achar ou que lado tomar.
    este é um game que te da um misto de emoções, alegria, medo, ódio, empatia e muitos outros.
    seu final não é algo que te deixa a vontade, nao é um final feliz como o primeiro, mas te proporciona um prazer em saber que existem dois lados e nenhum ganha, onde a vingança toma tudo. percebi um grande hate sobre a abby e sua maça corporal, ao meu ver isso foi totalmente premeditado, para o final ser impactante.
    um jogo perfeito, que esse seja um divisor de aguas, que seja um mundo apos The last of us part 2

This game has made a lot of bold choices that angered a mass majority of The Last of Us fans, I did my absolute best to be as open minded as possible and upon finishing the game I didn't know how to feel, and as a disclaimer I'll say that I'm a HUGE fan of stories focusing on misery and tragedy. I played the first game on release and have held it to a masterpiece level, I came into the sequel with a handful of spoilers and was infuriated with some of the choices made. Though as I played, I couldn't hide my dread for the things I knew were to come.

    Now I must say, I became VERY invested as I played and it's one of the only games in the current generation I didn't have to force myself to finish. I hated Abby to begin with but her reasons became more clear as I progressed, although I couldn't forgive her for killing Joel and was very aggravated when playing as her against Ellie. But I did feel pretty bad for Abby after finding her tortured and hanging on the pillar. Her escaping pissed me right off, but as I thought how she suffered worse than death, Although I wanted Ellie to kill her, I understood why she left.

    Ellie had become very unlikable throughout this game. It was reasonable and believable to her character and situation but how she treated Joel and Tommy seemed very uncalled for. Her decisions to leave Abby alive, brake the promise to Tommy and not tell him she changed her mind, and close out Joel after he came clean and kept his patience. I don't know if I rooted for her because of the history of the first game or because she was the less unpleasant of the two characters. But i was happy she survived and curious where it goes from here.

    I wanted more emotion with the final scene between Joel and Ellie, as I feel the final encounter left a lot to be desired but still had me pretty chocked up how Joel cried and couldn't get out what he wanted to say. A few things lost my emotion, namely how large Abby was and Lev going through a gender transition, more power to them, but I feel during an apocalypse it doesn't seem like something you'd see. a little nit picking but it did cross my mind.

    Overall I didn't want the story to follow what it did, but I was as open minded as I could be and ended up enjoying the game, not as much as the first, but enjoyed it non the less and followed my funny little fetish of a tragic story. You should play it if you were a fan of the first game, but do your best to go in without any hate towards it and don't let all the bad reviews deter you. If you've already played it try not to let the hate train effect your opinion, a lot of things I disliked about this game, but there's not denying it was good. For me, the medium game is well used here because what this game does with you would not work so well with any other medium. The game should be rated for what it wants to represent and it does it perfectly. Tetris is also a good game, but nobody would rate Tetris bad for its simple graphics. Unfortunately, that's exactly what people with TLOU do. The game is about hate that gets out of control at some point the more you indulge in it. Everyone who leaves a hate rating here does exactly what the game describes. It is a kind of mirror of our all-destructive society. Constructive criticism is important and always appropriate. What is done here with TLOU is simply not fair. Every gamer will benefit from this game because, as already mentioned, it is the new reference in terms of staging and other developers want to measure themselves against it. Have a nice day.

The story is polarising especially if you have grown to love the Joel and Ellie, and ND was successful to make us feel a roller coaster of emotions throughout the game. I cried, I swore, I let Abby die once or twice, I swore again, I cried again and then I was happy. Conflicted but happy. This is a revenge story and it will never have a sweet ending, whether you got your revenge or not: it will only have two possible endings: death and redemption. If not for the game being a sequel to one of the greatest PlayStation games of all time the game would not have received the backlash it did. It is understandable why people don’t like the game. Some characters deaths feel rushed and the ending leave you with many questions.

    The first part of this game became so loved, famous and popular because it has an unique atmosphere - it was a story about 2 persons, about their relationships. At first they weren't even talking to each other and at the end they showed everybody, that they were ready to kill everybody to save each other. They were like a father and a daughter. They are arguing, they are joking with each other, but they are always together. But naughty dog literally smashed this concept with a golf stick. I won't talk about SJW , its acceptable (but it shows us that our dog has no balls). I just want you to know, that Ellie's flashbacks are better then entire game.
    You were able to create a great game, just like the first part - modern, interesting and having a cool setting... And you know, you had done it, congrats! But you spoiled it with such stupid storyline. You didn't kill Joel, you killed atmosphere, concept and your own ratings.

    I am ready to wait 7 years again, but I really want you to create the game, that's better then the first part.

    I want Last Of Us to be a great story about father,daughter and a huge cruel world, not about angry lesbians.

    I'm writing this review in hopes the games gets the praise it deserves.
    Graphics are phenomenal, the best of the best on the current gen, the attention to detail, the lighting, the shading, the effects, e v e r y t h i n g.
    Music fits perfectly with everything, the sound is also really realistic and well made.

    Where people seem to have an issue with is how the story is tailored, people were expecting good old Ellie and Joel adventure, and the game would've been just fine had they done it this way, but Naughty Dog chose the uncommon way, taking a lot of risks and, in my opinion, succeeding at it.
    Naughty Dog picks the story 4 years after the first one in a setting where everything seems to be fine, playing the guitar with joel etc.
    They introduce us to another character - Abby - which is majorly the reason people are despising this game.
    Abby kills Joel and that fact alone pushed a lot of people away, people reviewing the game by playing only about 3h of a 30+hour game
    After the death of joel the people who kept playing experienced the violent and gorish side of Ellie, and her pursuit to kill Abby, but, at some point Abby has the upper hand on Ellie and the developers leave you on a huge cliffhanger "is Ellie dead??" and right then an there you enter a 10hour long Abby side of the story, this reeeeally threw people off, why would you want to play as the person who killed you beloved joel? And even in my case i didn't want to play as her, all i wanted was Ellie and more Ellie and moments of her and Joel and violence and her killing Abby, BUT at some point you gain empathy with Abby, you understand her side, the whole story of her and the "scars" children is one of the more rich aspects of the whole last of us story.
    After the whole Abby arc you get back to where Abby confronted Ellie and this part is like Naughty Dog is just completely playing with the heart of the player, you get put in a position like no other where you have to sneak up on Ellie and just destroy her with punches about 3 times, this scene alone invokes feeling I have NEVER felt in a videogame before "i dont wanna do this WTF??" but at the same you know the things Abby has gone through because of Joel and Ellie's decisions. At the end Abby leaves Ellie alone and we get a time skip to Ellie living in a perfect setting with DIna, the "happy ending" right? Hell no, Naughty Dog is not done, they push it further, Ellie leaves the house at some point against Dina's request to stay by her side with the baby. We enter the final arc, Ellie pursues Abby to the place she and the "scar" kid were kidnapped to.
    The moment they meet again Abby is just DONE, skinny-short-haired abby doesn't even care about anything other than getting away with the kid. Ellie has a flashback of her murdering joel and they begin the final confrontation, but ellie has another flashback of joel playing the guitar and that triggers a thought of caring for someone, Abby caring for this kid like joel cared for Ellie, and then they go their separate ways.
    The game ends with Ellie getting to her "perfect" home again but it is empty besides her stuff, she picks up the guitar and starts playing the song that Joel taught her in the beginning of the game but it sounds a bit off due to the two bitten of fingers. She then leaves the home like some kind of open ending "where will she go and what will happen now?".

    Last of Us II is by no means a perfect game, i think the story could've been tailored just a bit differently and the gameplay could've been more innovative, but that doesn't mean it is not a amazing, like the first game you still feel the same emotions, but they added a lot more and gave steroids to every each one of it.

    The Last of Us II is a game that will be remembered forever, many many people don't like getting played with their emotions this way, but if you open your mind and get past through that uncomfortableness you SEE the amazing game it is, you understand the choices of the developers and you get something like no other game does.

When you kill Joel, and make Ellie literally insane, you ruined the reason everybody loved that game. Sure, the gameplay is pretty good, but for me it was all about that amazing story from the first one. Not to mention Abby, because who the **** cares about her anyway? I would've been fine with them killing joel if they did it in a more heroic way, a more deserving death for such a great character. Only good parts of the story are Ellie's and the flashbacks which aren't related to Abby.

    Such a shame that a game like this was destroyed.

Para empezar la jugabilidad es increible, la protagonista me gusto conecte mas con ella en este juego y entedi sus motivaciones ya sean malas ya que la venganza es algo serio que no se toma a la ligera y creo que entendi el porque no lo hizo al final, el soundtrack estuvo adecuado en los momentos de tension, la historia en si tiene muchos fallos, creo que la alargaron mucho al momento de sentirse cansado pero puedes dejarlo de largo y pasarla increible. Reciente mente se armos la polemica de varios que odiaron el juego, quiero decir que sus argumentos son estupidos nada mas porque otros lo dicen lo que vale es tu opinion y mi opinion es que ,e gusto el juego, quisiera agradecer en persona a neil drunkman por haberlo hecho y lo mismo para naugthy dog, es un juego exelente con mucho valor y tambien para todos aquellos involucrados en el porque se que fue agotador hacerlo.     I enjoyed the Game very much. The Story isn‘t meant to be satisfying, I get that much. It hurts at times. Yeah you hate some characters but thats Part of Every story. At least in the end it was an experience. Cant hate a Game for that. And all the gamers who consider themselves betrayed should just let it be and focus on bashing the next game.

    I can't describe all the feelings, the inmense humanity of this game. TLOU2 is the greastes master piece of all the time. However if some minutes of lesbian love causes several damage to your virility, then you should'nt play it.

    Nooooo! I wanted so much to love this and prove the haters wrong! I couldn't wait to get it. I'm heartbroken and frustrated. I hate agreeing with the haters ☹ don't hate it until you play but warning if you adored the first one be prepared for disappointment. There is some very WTF angry moments, be prepared! The ending left me so disappointed

    Best game of the year until now, but nothing new about gameplay. Naughty dogs repeated the same formula from others games like uncharted. The game is better like a movie than a game. The direction could win some oscars instead best gameplay of the year. Sadly we have to see a lot of haters giving bad reviews for nothing.

    Hands down, one of the best games I have ever played. Still in early stages of the game will be playing rest of the weekend. Just wanted to pass on my early impressions. Not sure what’s up with the hateful comments and ludicrous low scores. This game is GOTY!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I actually quite enjoyed this game. The graphics and mechanics of this game are probably the best I’ve ever played and seen. The story itself had a good concept, however some of the story dragged on for way too long, which made me lose interest quite quickly. My favourite thing for me about this game, in terms of story, had to be the fact Ellie was left by everyone at the end due to only wanting revenge and not thinking about any of her other friends. Due to her fingers getting bitten off at the end she couldn’t play guitar, which is meant to represent Joel and Cos of that she leaves the guitar and her memories of Joel behind.

    However my favourite thing about this game for me was the soundtrack. Oh my god it’s probably the best I’ve ever heard for a game with how dynamic and how well suited it is to the different environments!

    I’d rate this game a 7/10    … Expand
