best 100 hours i've spent since the last LOU. I assume anyone saying it took 25 hours hasn't actually played it and is just a flat out bigot. I didn't think Naughty Dog would be able to maintain the momentum and gravitas of the first, since it was such an incredible prototype it seemed virtually impossible to follow up, but here we are.

Dinheiro no L I X O.

    (Maybe) negatives:
The story. The thing that everyone seems to be complaining about or, more specifically, people that reviewed the game on the day it came out, and couldn't have possibly known the whole story without reading the leaks. If you just read the story without experiencing the game, I can totally understand why you would be upset, but the game does a pretty good job at making you question Ellie's motivations, and showing the similarities between her and the "antagonist" of the game. Not a PERFECT job, but a respectable job, and despite having seen similar stories to this game in other media, it feels fresh and exciting to see a story like this told through a video game where we actually get to perform the acts of the characters.

Overall, this game is a solid 7/10. The reason I gave it a 10 was to counter-balance all the 0 reviews from people that just read the leaks and didn't even play it.

Nothing is perfect, but, The Last of Us part 2 has an incredible, deep, and moving story that is a worthy follow up to the original. The gameplay mechanics are a polished version of the first game, giving immediate familiarity, but with an additional layer that makes for a more rewarding experience.

Joel goes out like a side character, Ellie becomes evil and kills many people including a pregnant Women to avenge him. But Ellie doesn't kill the one person who tortured Joel and spares her because revenge is bad. You play as Joel's killer. They destroy Joel and Ellie's relationship. Need I go on? Graphics are great, gameplay is really good. But who writes this garbage story?

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It is dumbfounding to me that people see Joel as a hero. He murdered all those fireflies and the one doctor that we know of that could potentially make a cure, all to selfishly save Ellie who didn't even have a say in it. And he lied to her about what happened and permanently damaged their relationship. The whole point this game is making is that violence begets violence and Abbie's revenge on Joel seems justified, just as Ellie's revenge on Abby seems justified. But as the body count gets higher and Abby loses all her friends after seeking vengeance, the message that "violence isn't the answer" becomes clear to anybody who can consume a story properly. There are definitely some huge problems with pacing, especially in the beginning and the second half with all the flashbacks. The ending was perfect, Ellie broke the cycle of violence but it was already too late and Dina had left. And her leaving Joel's guitar behind was symbolic of leaving behind the violent ruthless tendencies she learned from him. She broke the cycle. Watch American History X if you want a story with the same ending where the character that redeems themself still dies in the end because of the cyclical nature of violence and vengeance. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. in order to fix this game and actually make the story work all they had to do was replace Joel with Dina and make Joel die a heroic death saving Ellie from one of the factions from the story while in pursuit for Dina's killer making Joel's death so much more impactful to then go and avenge both Ellie's lover and father figures deaths. but at the same time without turning to the killer's point of view so it's just a story from Ellies' perspective. also, make Ellie meet lev and he's older sister and work them into Ellies' story as they felt like a good edition from a character perspective but need plot tweaks. that's it really, the game itself is visually stunning and the gameplay felt really good but unfortunately, the story denies any success from everyone else's hard work to make the game achieve legendary status. The ending would need to change so that Ellie gets her revenge which gives the player meaning to carry on to the end.

personally I couldn't care less about the inclusion of LGBTQ characters as long as it feels natural and doesn't feel like they were placed into a game just for the sake of ticking boxes. As a gamer, I don't want to see political agendas in a game I just want to enjoy the story/gameplay for example if Abby's dad was a bodybuilder and she wanted to take after her dad then that's more natural and would make sense after her loss but currently, I can't think of any reason why she would become the hulk in a world of harsh survival and scarce resources.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I understand the quality and sound, dubious, and in the video itself Do not judge strictly because this is my first post on the site ...
Perhaps this is all that needs to be done to make our impressions impressive. You need to play this movie, but why did the developers go for such a risky scenario, why did they say that the game has improved NPS intelligence, but in fact these are all the same stupid zombies / bandits from the first part of the game. Why we were deceived in the Trailer, why in the game we played in a community of people. I want to break the most basic (in my opinion).

Why was it necessary to add so much LGBT and feminism?
I want to say, when I watched the game for the first time, I didn’t notice anything that the hand of feminism could touch and LGBT people don’t want to speak for everyone, but I really didn’t see that agenda, someone can argue and say that it’s here, but please take other games that were made a year or 2 ago and you will notice that TloU2 is the smallest propaganda that you have ever done, you have the right to challenge me because I do not pretend to be the role of the most inattentive person (ready to answer any a comment)

Why did you need to say that you humanized the bandits, gave good intelligence to zombies and dogs?
Well, here you can argue, because I did not come across the moments where the bandit / dog / walker did, some kind of nonsense, but everyone perceives it in his own way. BUT I really noticed that they really tried on Ellie, I don’t know why, but attacking her from behind playing for Abby was very problematic, because she moved super fast, and attacking can only be done from behind and this complicated the task of attacking her (personally for me) we can discuss that the developers worked very well on the sound of the shot / objects and other details. But this does not make sense, because anyone who watched / played could safely say that the game looks at the level of 2020, I did not want to say it for everyone, but it's hard to argue here.

    Why make such a finale?
And here you can discuss, someone really didn’t like the final game and I won’t even argue because it’s obvious that the final game was ruined, but! The game could be continued, for example, to make an addition, where did Dean, Tommy go or where did Ellie go? All this could be continued thanks to the ending that we got, but from recent news, it turned out that the developers of the game (let's call it that) will not continue the story of Ellie or Abby doesn’t matter who, but the additions thanks to that ending could be made and I assure you if so many people bought the game, then they would buy the continuation of the story, I assure you of any character (I know that the developers may continue the game or will continue, no need to breed discussion!)

But! That's not all, the game could have been done better if it had been! (my point of view) we were given the choice at the end of the game to kill Abby or to leave her alive and here we could safely end the story, but unfortunately we have what we were given. Where you can only wait for further news from the Naughty Dog team

In fact, I would struggle to recommend this game to anyone; especially not fans of the original game.

In many ways, the Last of Us Part II falls into the same mistakes that made The Last Jedi reviled by most fans of that franchise. In an attempt to be subversive, Naughty Dog loses sight of what made the first game so universally loved by critics AND fans. In an attempt to be poignant, they just come off seeming pretentious.

To make matters worse, the latter half of the game amounts to what is essentially an aimless side-quest, with the only motivation to push through coming from the promise of a pay-off in the finale which never comes.

Part II is a visually stunning game, but when the glitter wears off, all we're left with is a story for masochists who enjoy being taught a lesson they already know.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us (TLOU) was one of my favorite games of all time. Not necessary for the game play or the graphic but for the story. I remember playing the game over and over again and thinking that one day I wanted to be a father (even if it means I have to adopt) when before I wasn't to sure about it. And I remember while play Uncharted 4 saying to my friends that I was looking forward to if they made a Last of Us 2, that the game play would be a lot more fun & enjoyable with a great story that I would love. Praising Neil & It would be my favorite game/experience (because that how I tell people of what TLOU) ever! But, The Last Of Us Part II. Man, The Last Of Us Part II. I don't know if I supposed to hate this game and that's why it was made or what but, man it's so sad. When I finished the game I went into deep depression because of what just happened. Lucky I have people in my life who care for me and notice what was going on and helped me. Unfortunately, some people don't have that. And that worries me.

The first half of this game I actually enjoyed. I understood why Joel died (To carry the plot) and although I don't think the Joel from TLOU would of been in that situation, 4 years has passed. So maybe He's gotten softer now. Maybe he doesn't have that brick wall up that he build after Sarah's death because he has Ellie. Although I don't think that true and still think he wouldn't tell them his real name, I went along with it, if it meant I got to Kill Abby and everyone in that room. When Day 3 started to end I was started to feel like it was okay if Abby got away because Dina need to go home and I actually liked Dina and Ellie together. I though they were cute together and wanted to see them make it home together. Then Abby kills Jesse! And they it goes black and I thought that the game was over implying that Abby Killed Ellie.
And then you start playing a flashback as Abby and I was confused. Then you played Seattle Day 1 as Abby and I was even more confused. The only thing about Abby that I liked is that she's played by Laura Bailey. And I like Laura Bailey so I kept play thinking that it might be a short section and once I'm done I can get back to Ellie and Kill her. But, I picked up some pills thought that's weird, Saw that she had a skill chart... and didn't want to play anymore knowing that I was gonna have play as Abby. The character that killed Joel, my father and friend. Someone That I grew to love. But, I forced myself through it thinking that as long as get to Kill her okay. So I did and had fun with it, Killing her in every way possible saying, " I like that ending.". Jumping of cliff, getting her head blown off, ect. I did enjoy the Critical Roll Easter Egg to say the least. I did like learning more about the Scars, Lev & all but, nothing you do can make me like Abby. Defiantly not forcing me to watch her have sex. Like WTF. Then you get back up to the cut scene where Abby kills Jesse so I was like finally I get to kill her. NO! You play Abby and have to try and Kill Ellie. Right After she "Killed" Tommy! I Was Pissed! I couldn't believe it. I thought that it might be a meta thing and your supposed to die so I ran at Ellie for her to kill me. NOPE! You have to win. But, you don't which I'm okay with because it means that Ellie lives.
So far, I've enjoyed half the game and pushed myself through the second half just so I could not kill Abby. But, That's okay because Ellie and Dina now are living life together on a farm with a kid and I'm happy. Sad that Abby got to live but, Ellie has a new lie with a loving wife and a child that she says she's gonna teach guitar, just like how Joel taught her. But, Ellie's PTSD and Tommy (Not Dead somehow) get the best of her. She has to kill Abby. I understood why but, the cost I think is something that Ellie wouldn't give up. Ellie has always done everything to protect the people around her and the people she loves. And for her to give all that up to kill Abby seems not like Ellie to me. I mean she has a kid and a Wife. But, I got to kill Abby so I was like okay whatever, lets kill her! But, you don't! During the fight, which is stressful for me because I'm spamming the f**k out of my square button to the point where I though I was gonna brake my controller, You get to a part where your holding her head under the water (continuing to spam my square button even when there isn't a prompt) and your about to do the deed. Then Ellie see's Joel and stops. WHAT! At that point I was done! Played through the last bit, lost my wife and my kid, couldn't play the guitar. And that's the end. I sat there through the credits just disappointed, sad, angry & annoyed that I played it. I digitally pre-ordered the game and it was my first game I digitally pre-ordered and I'm sad this a bought it.
To concluded, I didn't enjoy my time playing TLOU2 and my favorite part is the museum flashback part. I'm gonna go play Spider-Man now and be happy.

The world of TLOU is dark, and the people living in it are just trying to survive in their own way (and maybe survival is to take advantage of others), but it is what it is. There are no heroes in TLOU, there are only survivors, and because of that this isn't a feel good story...just as the first one wasn't a feel good story (Joel literally lied to Ellie at the end of the first game by telling her the Fireflies couldn't do anything with her immunity).

Personally, I loved this game and I can't wait to play through it again.

Visually stunning with wonderful performances. But the story and characters lacked the soul of the first one. The gameplay was exactly the same as the original game and offered nothing new. The story and character “development” was unsatisfying and more or less pointless in the end. Happy to have played it but will never play again.

    story: 7/10

Some plot holes and conveniences, Ellie and Dina is a relationship that somehow doesnt feel earned or make sense, the story I think could have made its point by finishing earlier, I was expecting the credits to roll on the tractor scene and honestly i think I would have felt much more satisfied

    Gameplay: 6/10

Its pretty good but by no stretch of the imagination a real strong point of this game, combat can feel repetitive, options feel very limited, controls feel a little clunky and counter intuitive, would have liked a final fantasy 7 remake menu thing where time slows right down when you pop into a menu to give you a second to think about what you wanna pull out.

    Replayability: 3/10

This game is HEAVILY story based, a lot of games are going down this road lately which can make a first playthrough engaging but so much of this game is going through story points in not always a particularly engaging way that now im familiar with the story id be surprised if i play this through more than a handfull of times again.

Reviewed on a base PS4 and 35 hours to beat the story on moderate without skipping cut scenes, & seeing each encounter through. No leaks were sought ahead of time, though an important one got spoiled.

First the obvious, this is an absolute 'technical' masterpiece, better than anything you'll find on a base PS4 let alone a Pro, even RDR2. I was astounded by the visual detail, swearing at how nuts some things are, & this was without the HDR or higher res of a Pro. The animations, the AI, the realism, the way the enemies cry out the names of their fallen friends. If you want a technical showcase, a next gen experience this gen, this game is legit.

The level of customisation on this console game rivals even a PC game be it visual things, or accessibility things, really excellent. You can even enable a 'journalism mode', slow-mo aiming, or being invisible when crouched, etc, making it possible to be done with the game in 20 hours, probably.

With these things being said, if any game deserved a fair shot, it’s going to be this one isn’t it? All those Naughty Dog developers working overtime, the dreaded crunch culture we hear YouTube videos tell us about. Just all the crap that led up to the launch. It’s a big unfortunate chain of events for everybody, and nobody wins. That said, this review is for the game, not about Naughty Dog's reaction, leakers or people who talk about leakers, so that's all on that.

I don’t think this is quite a 10/10 game, but any criticism is aimed at things like its ‘gameplay’ choices, some of its pacing beats, and a few elements in this massive story I didn't gel with.

To be clear, I don’t have a problem with the overall story itself, but parts of it were daft. It's epic, it's crazy, it has unexpected turns, it's bound to not all jive for everybody. Some people won't like all of it, others will. Some people will like parts of it, but is the game worth experiencing to decide for yourself? Of course it is.

I could empathise with decisions made by a lot of the characters, & equally feel disappointed in them. There's no 'one' villain or hero in all of this, it's a complex story about the circle of violence and it's a broken brutal world.

What I had some issue with was some of its pacing. Not that it's a 'long' game, but we do have stretches of walking and talking, interspersed with encounters. It's a hard balance, but at times I felt I was exploring a huge beautiful world & waiting for the next big encounter or thing to happen. If you're going in for a bright father & daughter exploration story who like to go hunting or spending time watching movies, then you're really going to hate this, as it's only some of that.

A few other notes while playing:

It's a mostly linear Naughty Dog game. That means the game can move you on its path if you trigger it, & not possible to turn back to check over an area you know you didn’t explore yet. This is a little frustrating as can put reliance on chapter restart, etc

There's a theme of pregnancy in the game which I thought didn't work, but won't elaborate more because spoilers.

I didn’t buy Ellie’s connection with Dina (from the trailers) because not enough back story for me. They didn't seem to have chemistry, or was basically Dina making sex faces at Ellie a lot of the time.

I'm not a fan of having to hold the touch pad button to open the map or having to hold any button to do many basic things, opening doors, etc, but that is what it is, and it's a thing in many games. At least there wasn't as much tapping of buttons this time out.

I had to restart checkpoint a couple of times from getting stuck in a spot you can’t move from. Which goes to show, as much as you want to delay and polish a game you’ll never make it absolutely 100% full proof, which is understandable. This game is still incredibly polished.

I dislike how long it takes to patch yourself up for most of the game (bandages) although the upgrade addresses this of course.

The game is a really dark game in spots, though this can be tweaked in visual settings, but it's still pretty dark.

Having to keep finger on L1 the whole game whenever you want to run, although didn't heck if there is a toggle to run (there probably is).

It’s an interesting dynamic having to collect coins and cards collectibles amidst some atrocities occurring. I found it a little amusing after a point anyway.

The combat is excellent, I really enjoyed it, and the AI was mostly great on the balanced moderate setting. I am scared how nuts it would get on survivor difficulty, and will give it a shot at some point. There's a lot to discuss on combat, animations and AI alone, but should be experienced.

I'm glad I played the game thoroughly & think a lot of people would be into it from a technical and gameplay standpoint - 8/10.

NaughtyDog's trademark storytelling reaches new highs in this title, and despite the plot itself being pretty trivial (as it was in the first game), the way it's told and the way it's acted is not short of amazing.

I just wanted to respond to all the people review bombing the game, I understand you didn't get the story you wanted. But it wasn't your story to tell in the first place. You're just a passenger. And giving a 0 to a technical/acting masterpiece just because you didn't get what you wanted is just plain stupid, be at least honest with yourself.

Furthermore the first game lived in a morally grey area from the get go. If you ever thought Joel and Ellie were "good guys" you clearly have no idea what TLOU1 was about, and I kinda feel sorry for you.

Also sexuality and woke themes aren't pushed in the slightest during the game so whoever still bring that up clearly have not played the game and just hopped on some hate bandwagon for the sake of being a miserable sad human being.

I enjoyed every second of this game, even tho it's not a "fun" game, it's a game that pushes you to understand complex feeling, feeling you are forced to embrace even if you didn't want to, but that are never gratuitous or out of context. It's a mature game, and clearly there are a lot of gamers out there that do not have such maturity to even grasp the basic elements of it.

This game is also not perfect and I would have liked a couple gameplay additions like a way to recall the horse or an attack from above tomb raider style.

In the end I would give it a solid 9. But I will give it a 10 to make up for the embarrassment the hateful and ignorant part of the gaming community has brought to the table.

Having done nothing but play the game the last two days (like it was my full time job 12 hours a day plus I don’t know how anyone finished it faster then me) I am moved, I am heart broken, and I have grown. Are we the perpetrators of our own harm? That is the biggest question I’m left with having completed the game. We don’t always know the direct consequences of our actions but the consequences persist nonetheless.

I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone (although I’m tempted to believe anyone who wanted to have this spoiled has already done so) but suffice to say this game tackles some really complex issues and raises important questions. What am I willing to do for revenge, what purpose do I have, what am I good for without such purpose, what do we do with our own trauma? No single game can ask and answer all these questions in a conclusive way, but this game takes time and moments to allow you to breath into the unease of those very hefty concepts. Was it fun? It’s hard to say, I would argue neither this game or it’s predecessor is as concerned with that as it is with you reflecting humanity and all it’s flaws in indescriminate detail. You may not love Ellie by the end of this. There are no hero’s here. The underlaid question, “does acting on the most human of impulses in trauma lead to the perpetuation of that trauma? Can we grow from this?” continues to circle in my mind. This isn’t just gaming, it’s a psych course on the effects of PTS. Putting your hands behind some heinous actions.

But at the end of this all you’ll still want better for Ellie while understanding what trauma causes. View her kindly as she is not the sole perpetrator at fault here, an unending cycle of violence that she was born into that she knows no alternative to is the real villain at the center of this game. I’ll give her (and her counterpart) the grace of forgiveness, since the world there been built around her has not afforded her the luxury.

However, the story is a complete flop which disregards and disrespects the fans that made the first game what it is. The game feels more like the final part in a trilogy more than part 2. There are five years of untapped potential that was completely wasted and confined to 2 hours worth of flashbacks. It’s a bad sign when the flashbacks that have very little gameplay are better than the actual story. Naughty Dog have taken what made the first game amazing and a storytelling masterpiece and turned it into a plot hole filled disrespectful and nasty game which even messes up its own message: That violence and revenge is wrong. Characters are wasted and not fully developed. New characters are bland and don’t serve any purpos.

It's full of hacks who tell terrible stories, and push political agendas where they don't belong. There was never a problem with gay or female characters in gaming before. As far as graphics go, I have to give it a 10/10, all lighting and environmental detail is extremely immersive as well as the character detail and dialogue. This Secret character kills the beloved character a 1 and half in the game and then they think you will like to play as this character for 10 hours. Plus it seems like ND game this new character more love then Ellie's story half. the new character gets better map designs and better weapons and made this character more friendly trying to make the player like her. They gave her alot of pretty cool boss fights while ellie just get stealth encounter's. plus they up the looting in this game i felt like i been doing more looting then encounter's in this game. such a time consuming process. Sorry but the storyline is in relation to Part 1 .. not the same. Its so random in some corners. The feeling of Part 1 was a few times more intense and im sorry that i must say, that im not Happy with the existence of Part 2. If Part 1 stands alone, it would be a way better story.

From the technical standpoint, is genius. From the experience and entertainment value, is a masterpiece one of a kind.

This videogame shows that the format has already evolved to his own branch of art-form. Games now are not suppose only to be fun or be fun at all: that is not a requirement. Games like this one are a proof that they can be purely engaging. And is great.

I post this notice after I finished the game, which is not the case for many. Let's be clear, this game is obviously not worth a completely ridiculous average score. Is it worth the notes obtained in the press, which almost unanimously qualify it as a masterpiece? I don't think so either.

Graphically the game is very beautiful, it is not a slap either but I clearly do not have to

Graphically the game is very beautiful, it is not a slap either but I clearly do not have to complain about this side. I only encountered one big bug in my 27 hours of play, so the optimization is also there, the game is technically well finished.

The scenario ... great subject ... it is a completely subjective opinion, I rather appreciated it, I found it coherent but it also did not carry emotionally as I expected. I found the new characters quite bland.

The big problem for me is above all in the very structure of the game, what we do there is just absolutely not interesting! We advance, we arrive in an area with enemies inside or outside but will ultimately be the same as the previous one, human or infected no matter there is no difference in how to defeat them. It lacks surprises, variations in events.
Having to shave the walls and furniture to 20 cm to see if we can loot an item or not is simply unbearable, Naughty Dog should have made this more visible.
The successions of keys on which to press to create ammunition or care are not intuitive and pose problem during fights in difficult mode because the enemy simply does not leave us time to create anything.

TLOU Part II is for me a good game, pleasant to do, no more no less.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The graphics and gameplay of the game are great. They exceeded the last game, however the story was written and executed in the worst possible. The problem in the story wasn’t that Joel died (most people already expected that) but the way he was killed was the main problem. Killing off a beloved character from the previous game in the most disrespectful way to invoke emotion from the player is a horrible is a easy and lazily written plot, Especially by the hands of a new character who the audience does not even care for. We play roughly 10+ hours of the game playing as Abby, a ridiculously muscular woman who killed Joel in the beginning of the game. The game fails to get the audience to sympathize with Abby even after revealing her past and her motivations for killing Joe Expand

Gameplay is almost the same as the first one with small improvements not enough to make it enjoyable for me, puzzles are repetitive and tedious, the graphics are amazing as expected and the story is awful, as you may already know. Pretty mediocre in my opinion, the story makes it a 3 for me.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. If you're being swayed by negative reviews, I encourage you to see when a majority of them were placed. It was ON release date. This game took me 27 hours without seriously looking for artifacts/trading cards on my first gameplay. All the negative comments were based on leaks that were petty, out of context, and some of them untrue or misleading.

ND didn't make this story to be a fairytale filled with happy endings and perfect relationships. They said they were going to make this game as realistic as possible, and that didn't just mean the graphics. I loved Joel just as much as anyone else, but with every story, there's multiple sides. He killed people to save Ellie... But that means he killed someone's father, brother, wife, friend for his OWN gain. They developed Abby in such a great way. She was such a well rounded character, and I loved the fact that you were obligated to go after Ellie. It was uncomfortable and difficult... But you were forced to see all sides of Ellie and how other people view her. She may be our hero, but to many other people she's a murderer that took away their family. Absolute 10/10

Although most people don't agree to Joel's death, not everyone dies the honorable death they wanted in this cruel, harsh world. Naughty Dog also did a good job in making us feel sympathy for Abby, although she killed the fan-favorite Joel, she was on the same mission Ellie was on, they both extremely loved their "dads". The ending also completed it all,Ellie remembered the scene where she was on the porch with joel, telling him she will forgive him, she put 2 and 2 together and let Abby go. She also didnt want lev to lose Abby just like she lost Joel. What. A. Masterpiece. Expand

    - Really stunning graphic and sound
    - Technical good Gamemechanic

But holy mother the story is so bad I had to quit the game. The characters' decisions don't make sense at all.
For the antagonist feelings should be built up, while the characters of the first TLOU are **** on. It breaks my heart to see this sequel.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
