    A masterpiece. Provocative in its themes and sophisticated in its writing, this game boasts a powerful narrative and extremely polished gameplay that combine to create an unrivalled experience that is not only rewarding, but perhaps necessary in our current times. It may require a certain level of emotional maturity though.

Why would it be strange for Ellie to have changed her personality during a virus outbreak apocalypse? If anything, Ellie's hate is the most important and relevant factor in the game. Besides this, the way naughty dog let you play both sides of the story makes so much sense! If you enjoyed the original game, don't worry about part II, you will enjoy it even more!… Expand

    In terms of the scenario, I’ve seen a lot of criticism of the scenario. Some of them can be quite understandable, because the scenario is writen in such a way that it will cause strong reactions in positive or negative. The story of this game is told without concessions. It is made so that players feel angry against certain characters, or feel bad about the actions of the characters they play. It is a choice of narration and I personally felt bad during my playthrough. But these sensations that the game managed to make me felt, is for me the proof that Naughty Dog managed to create a personal work with heavy meaning. More than a simple reflection on revenge, for me the game is the way to reflect on the regrets and the feelings that you could have face to a death. Players can choose to just don’t like the game because they don’t accept the death of one character, or don’t like a character because of its actions. In these cases, players are emotionnaly touched by death and the feelings caused by it exactly like the playable characters but don’t accept to see this fact.

    Finally, if you want to get into this game, be aware that you have to be ready to feel sad and angry as the game progresses. Some of you may not be able to finish it because you will not tolerate your negative emotions in the face of such negative situations or such characters. But also know that stop playing to this game will not allow you to have a global vision and a reflection on these situations and characters that you have trouble supporting.    … Expand

    I don't understand the players who give low ratings, the presentation of the story is at the highest level, the quality of the product is at the highest level, for me personally this is a very strong story that left a mark in my heart, I want to say to the developers, thank you very much for such an exciting adventure, thank you very much!

    The Last of Us 2 is one of them. I am not a huge fan of TLOU 1 (and I know it is a great game in every way) but TLOU 2 is different. It is very different in its theme. I can see why there are so many    Out of 100s games I have played since I was 7, only a handful of games I considered as a "masterpiece". I can see why there are so many people are so angry at the game and I believe most of people who playing will be angry at one point of the story but it's intentional and essential.

    I don't usually write reviews but this one is for telling anyone who reading this, if you are interested in playing this, just play and decide for yourself.     The atmosphere is pretty dark, definitely not a happy game. I think the most important part „to enjoy“ the game is that you need to allow yourself to engage in the story. The game makes you feel all the and we need to question our own actions, which makes it special in my eyes.

    As a fan of the tlou game series, I expected more from this version, but in some ways I was disappointed and tried to analyze what happened. The storytelling could have been better , like tlou 1, but unfortunately it did not happen. , But I still love tlou and this is still a masterpiece and I hope tlou 3 is better.

    It is a masterpiece, better then 1st game in all places:
    Grafics - its almost perfect as is could be,
    Battle mechanics - very tough AI and very realistic battles that gives you a wow sometimes when you did not expect something as it never happends in all others games,
    Story - its real brutal, harsh, hard to believe, hard to understand their motives and it all comes to a greatest conclusion as it could be wich even takes a place to the Part 3 game (wich would be really-really hard to make better than it is Part 2). You hate and love the heroes and all the way each step is so meaningfull to live with them and understand their choices.

    And i even did not like games with the scary motives and when its possible to scare you in unexpected moments, but after i play 1st game i knew i should try 2nd, and never regret it.

    Yes, there is a lot of rainbow theme, yes, maybe too much, and even, for the fans of original game its too brutal story, but it lookes more realistic in that way, rather it would be another usual and boring happyend...    … Expand

    Honestly, after seeing all the hate surrounding this game, when I saw it for sale at Walmart for only 30$, I thought “There’s no way I’m going to like this, but the graphics look good at least”, so I bought it. The game quickly became very addictive, as I played through it within only a few days. And holy **** I did not expect to enjoy it as much as I did. The gameplay and graphics are decent, but the narrative is what totally destroys the experience, from the prologue you can see how they dispose of one of the important characters from the first game in such a horrendous way and the supposed lesson Ellie learns in the ending doesn't make any sense. This game appeals to the morbid to attract attention, but without a good story it becomes tiresome. The franchise did not deserve this type of treatment.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is truly an amazing game with an enjoyable experience to match, it achieved the exact objective it was aiming for. It has stellar graphics and gameplay. Although I still feel it was an unnecessary sequel, it was far better to have left the story with the first game & allow the players to ponder on whether Ellie knew or not that Joel lied to her or not to protect her. It was clear to see that she could tell he wasn’t being truthful. The ambiguity was way more impactful than a twisted tail of revenge on the quest for shock value. Boundaries were pushed a bit too much and it fell off the edge in parts. I truly find it hard to believe that Ellie would be that angry towards Joel for saving her life. Her anger towards him made no sense. It was really hard for me to buy into. The story also went on for a bit too long, it felt like if they spot at a certain point it would have made for a better game. I honestly struggle to be sympathetic towards Abby, I was basically on autopilot when I played as her. Part 2 opted for technical brilliance and sacrificed great storytelling. A game leaving the player far worse of than you were going into it isn’t a good mark.

When I first played this game, it was my first experience to "The last of us", so my review is gonna be much more positive than others (and just so you know, I'm in a playthrough of the first right now. Will write a review when I beat that). Anyways, lets get on why I think this game is painfully mediocre.

    1: Joel's death. After playing only HALF of the first game, the sequel pisses me off SO hard. Like, I would consider main characters dying acceptable if it tied perfectly with the story and it's themes in a clear way, while also keeping it subtle. Tlou2 does absolutely none of these! What it does is instead focus on the SIDE characters (abby) in the second half of the game, which is straight up filler and a waste of not only my time, but everyone who's played this game's time. And even in the Ellie half of the story, it just shrugs off the theme it attempted to show in more of a preference towards humanizing everyone that ellie meets. That works for some stories, but THIS IS THE SEQUEL TO THE LAST OF US! It completely ignores the theme it tried to narrate until the very end of the game, where it also neglects it's theme by making it focus on ellie and abby's rivalry. And at the very end of it all, ellie spares abby, along with trans baldy with her, which is SUPER STUPID JUST KILL ABBY YOU DIPSH!T ELLIE! Anyway I talked for too long.

    2: The gameplay. It's last of us gameplay of course it's really good! Probably the only thing I really like about this game, outside of tommy (btw tommy is god tier character). But then you're reminded that the 1st's gameplay exist, then you play the 1st. If you want better gameplay from tlou2, play tlou, you won't regret it!

    3: The obnoxious bugs. When you consider that the last months of development were during the pandemic (insert infected joke here) and the fact that the game was rush immensely for a 2020 release, of course there's gonna be a lot of bugs. While in the 1st they were only visual glitches, in the 2nd, they are full on "you clip into the wall while walking into a building and you die" type glitch. I probably ran into 10 glitches while playing this game, the 1st one I talked about actually happening to me in the overworld section of the game. I also found a glitch where you dance around a door before you open it, yeah that exists.

    Perhaps my favorite game in my life, the part 2 does everything it can do on the basis of part one, whether it's graphics, gameplay, plot, narrative structure. The conflict and contradiction between the Ellie and Abby are described to the extreme.

As regards to the story, i have a real appreciation on TLOU1, and this game just made me feel depressed because of how the events unfold. I couldn't believe the way i was affected by only seeing videos of people playing the game. I thinkThis game is one of the best i´ve played. The graphics, animations, illumination & shadows, the combat, faces, details, scenarios were ALL OUTSTANDING. As regards to the story, i have a real appreciation on TLOU1, and this game just made me feel depressed because of how the events unfold. I couldn't believe the way i was affected by only seeing videos of people playing the game.     Y su único argumento es que no les gustó la historia. Puedo comprender que a alguien pueda no gustarle la historia, de hecho yo no le pongo el 10 porque me parece más larga de lo que debería, pero decir que es una basura...
    Es de los juegos con mejor combate, al menos de los últimos años.
    Gráficamente es precioso.
    La historia es increíble, que al fan de turno le haya molestado la muerte de Joel no quiere decir que sea mal juego.

    The world is beautiful, wondrous, dark, and disgusting all at the same time. The “gametography” is as if not even more beautiful than the first game, so many perfect shots can be found here.

    The combat is perfectly visceral, sly, brutal, and explosive.

    This is yet again another masterful achievement in gaming from Naughtydog. I’m so happy that I loved this.    … Expand

    One of the best stories I've ever had the experience to live through games. The gameplay is really smooth and fun too. Refined everything from the predecessor. Graphics are unbelievably good.

    Masterpiece. Beautiful in both narrative and technical levels. The story is extremely moving and the gameplay is a complete upgrade from the previous game. Acting is amazing, every character is convincingly portrayed. Just like the first part, the music is a key element of the game, and it is perfectly placed throughout the game.

For example, a see a lot of people pissed off that Ellie didn't kill Abby, but this makes sense. She saw that Abby had Lev, and she knew that Abby was to Lev like Joel was to Ellie. I'm not saying that the ending couldn't have been done better, but as to why she spared her, it makes sense. As for people complaining that Joel died and how pissed off they are, that's the point. ND wants you to be pissed off, they want you to be as mad as Ellie is, and it becomes this slow burn of seeing Ellie become a monster, killing tons of humans, all in the name of vengeance, and if anything, it makes Ellie just as bad if not worse than Abby.

    As for playing as Abby, this is important. I don't believe ND is trying to get you to feel bad for Abby per se, just trying to humanize her in the same way as Ellie, showing that Abby and Ellie are more similar than different in some ways. So while the game had so much potential to get a 10/10 , gameplay is a solid 9.5/10 , a few tweaks would do a charm , the story is very far away from the main plot , it had nothing to do with the infection , a cure , dealing with the problems , running away , regrouping and forming some sort another solution " NADA " . I bought it but only played a few hours before I uninstalled the game because things didn't go exactly the way I (along with the fan base who childishly review bombed this game) wanted.

    After the ps5 update came out I decided to give it a try again with an open mind. Although story pacing is not perfect, I really did enjoy and fluidity of the gameplay, the beautiful graphics decided that overall I really enjoyed the game.

    The story was very bleak, and brutal but I felt in encapsulated the world of the last of us several years after the first game. I'd say if you're even slightly interested in playing part II, give it a try and see for yourself whether or not you like it.

    (but for real rating a game ZERO is ridiculous lol, sometime the story doesn't always go the way you for the protagonist but there is no denying that this is a polished game) Cheers and thanks for reading :)    … Expand

    Joel didn't want to help random strangers in the first game but now he is helping a random girl that survived apparently on her own? He simply tells a group of randoms his real name and walks in in the middle of the room without any suspiscion?

Ellie’s and Abby’s stories are the different sides of the same coin. The attention to detail is also outstanding and I was amazed by how many symbols are in the game. You should check out Wolf of Thorns on Yt. The giraffe and the zebra connection really blew myOne of the best games i’ve ever played.     Overall, a solid sequel that lives up to the quality of the first game. Brutal, punishing combat and out-of-this-world action sequences. Story falls a bit flat compared to the first game, but isn’t bad. A few bugs that impacted my enjoyment of the game, but nothing game breaking.

    I think some may forget that Joel is a hero to us ONLY because he was our primary POV character in the original game, but to those not sharing the player's POV he would have seemed a monster. Those touched by his journey across country with Ellie in tow most likely would have considered themselves the victims of some crazed killer.

    People also seem to forget that the original game ended on a down note, with Ellie becoming distant from Joel as she suspects he's lying to her. In fact, the original game ends with Ellie clearly realizing that Joel has lied to her, and the bond between them, forged over the course of the entire game, is now broken. The sequel picks up in exactly that place, with their relationship strained by Joel's (well meaning) dishonesty, and Ellie's (well founded) suspicion.

    I deeply appreciated the way that the game explores the idea that neither Ellie or Abby are actually the good or bad guys, just simply that they were people on opposite sides of a very **** situation. You know...the way things tend to work in the real world.

    As far as the so-called "SJW agenda" of the game...well, I'm not really sure that the mild depiction of two women involved romantically can actually constitute an agenda of any kind. What, do you all live in a place where women don't date each other or something? I also don't think showing a physically strong, action oriented woman checks the agenda box either. Did you people hate Ripley in "Aliens" as well? How about Sarah Connor in "Terminator"? Was that also an SJW agenda?

    For those that think Joel's character was "assassinated" by the events in the early game, I feel like you're missing all the wonderful, touching moments we get with him throughout the rest of the game, and even in the final epilogue.

    Those of you whom have made up your minds about what this game is, even before playing it (and let's be honest, 14k negative reviews less than 12 hours from release...on a 25 hour long game...is a sure sign of people making up their minds without playing it,) are doing themselves a disservice, and depriving themselves of a fantastic game experience.

    If you don't like it after playing it, then that's perfectly fine, you have every right to your opinion. But if you're giving it zero scores just because some angry YouTuber or Twitter told you to, then perhaps you should take a breath and start thinking for yourself.

There are very little puzzles and all of them are lazily designed. The running animations are laughable.

    The pacing is so horrendous in this game, it almost put me to sleep out of boredom. The developer who directed this movie game even admitted that they don't use the word "fun". If their goal was to not make the game fun, then they nailed it. It's pathetic that game developers don't even want games to be fun anymore. If I'm not mistaken, games are suppose to be fun. That is the reason why I even play videogames in the first place. There is so much SJW influence in this game.

    There is no multiplayer at all. So once you beat the story, there is not a reason to touch this game again. It will go back to the shelf and collect dust. Charging $60 for a game with no replay value is a cashgrab. The greedy developers are basically charging $60 for a movie ticket. They promised there would be multiplayer and decided to cut it out. The developers were too greedy and lazy to develop multiplayer. The only good thing in this game is graphics, but the graphics sacrificed the gameplay mechanics.     Graphics is great. Levels are amazingly detailed. ND can push ps4 to its maximum. But the game... It's dull. Not even close to 10/10 and TLOU 1. After 20 hours not sure, if I'm going complete it. The first TLOU was a brilliant game. I hope this failure won't bury the studio. Or better to bury now?

By the end of the game, you love both characters and you don't want to choose between them. The ending of the game gave me indescribable emotions. It took me several hours to recover and put everything in order in my head.
    As for the ending it's very logical. This game should've ended in no other way but the way it ended. The game gave me the strongest emotions over the past 5 years, i even cried. It shows us how revenge destroys people from the inside. How revenge destroyed Ellie, the girl who charmed us in 2013.

    It's 10/10, easily one of the best games of the generation. Maybe the best. Looking forward Cyberpunk 2077!

Все сюжетные "ружья" отлично работают для игрока. Все персонажи отлично написаны, их мотивация неоспорима. К концу игры вы любите обоих персонажей и не хотите выбирать между ними. Конец игры подарил непередаваемые эмоции. Потребовалось несколько часов, чтобы прийти в себя и разложить все по полкам.
    Что касается финала, то он очень логичный. Эта игра должна была закончиться именно так, как закончилась. Она подарила мне самые сильные эмоции за последние 5 лет, я даже всплакнул. TLOU 2 наглядно показывает нам, как месть уничтожает людей изнутри. Как месть уничтожила Элли, ту милую девчонку, которая очаровала нас в 2013 году.

    I actually really enjoyed this game. Loved it, even! The story isn't quite as good as the first game, but I wasn't expecting it to be and I still enjoyed myself just as much. All of the high highs and all of the low lows. Gameplay is excellent, and it is visually next to none. I hope more players like me come out of the woodwork to give this game some love.

    Clearly ND and Neil Druckmann is forcing the game to transition the characters so they could imply their beliefs about feminism and other "woke" stuff. We all know it and we all have seen it. And no, i don't have issues about Joel's death I just hope they should've delivered it in a much much better way. I ain't no professional. I am just expressing my opinion as a gamer.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
