    While the story was a little disappointing the gameplay and atmosphere was incredible and overall the last of us part 2 is a pretty good game.

    Oh my god. I can't stand all the garbage people are saying about the game. Everyone is pissed off because character development was not the way they wanted to be, or characters actions was not what they judge best, or because it looks too much political now, or because two girls are getting laid, or… come on people! Grow the ***** up! Stop complaining and just send you god damn curriculum to Naughty Dog and do something better than this. I’m kidding. Naughty Dog wouldn’t employee people like this.

    In my humble opinion, this is a masterpiece and the best 2020 game so far.

    Homossexual relationship, transgender and other stuff are topic in the game, but in a secondary way. And by the way, I don't see this as a problem. I could care less about what Ellie are into. If she is into girls, well good for her. If Abby is stronger the Rambo, well good for her too. I can't believe that this became something to judge in a game.

    The game give to us, again, a harsh reality. And that won't be necessarily a reality we wanted to. Well DEAL WITH IT! Sometimes people we care just die. Out of nothing! And here comes the shocking spoiler: This happens in real life too! If you can’t stand Joel’s death, imagine what Ellie felt. If you are too weak and can’t stand the feeling, stop playing and go find something more colorful to cheer you up. You probably won’t find any consolation in this game. Well I did. But it looks like people don’t think the way I do. It would be too easy for the world.

    I think Ellie is so confused about her feelings that some people say the whole revenge thing is not so convincing. That she turns into a crazy maniac killing people on her way and didn’t even finish what she started. Well that was the way she dealt with loss. In the end, she probably didn't even want that revenge. Maybe she was just so messed up, that killing people was the excuse for her to at least feel something different from regret. And not killing Abby in the end?! For me that was the masterpiece decision. She saw Abby as Joel and Lev as herself when she was young. For me that was the masterpiece. Forgiveness is a way better message for me than revenge. That made me admire her more than I already did.

    Best character ever. Best development ever. And yes, for me is much better than the first one.    … Expand

    As a huge fan of the first game, I really wanted to love The Last Of Us 2. However, TLOU2 simply isn't the game we were promised. Trailers, previews, and other marketing of this game have been totally dishonest. I don't want to spoil anything, but what I can say is this: we were promised a sequel continuing the story of two beloved characters, however this game is barely about them. TheAs a huge fan of the first game, I really wanted to love The Last Of Us 2. However, TLOU2 simply isn't the game we were promised.     The game is surprising me in every moment. Superb grafics, gameplay and story. Thank you Naughty Dog! @metacritic. Many xbox bad users are adding fake reviews to low the game rate. You can look by the games they rate. All xbox games 10 and playstation always 0. This kind of behaviour must not be accepted.

It’s how he gets killed. And then, having to play 10-12 hours which is basically the entire second half of the game as Abby. At that point in time nothing that was shared in “her” story, contributed to me feeling any sort of compassion. To me, this is genuinely the biggest reason why fans of this franchise had a hard time accepting this story. Plenty of other ways to kill a main character/hero. This is not the way Neil.     The very sad truth, I could not even finish the game and I do not think I will, between the spoilers and the forced story, it is unpresentable, even if the children make 100 thousand accounts to raise the grade they will make people think that it is a Good game ... Em toda a franquia ele sempre protegeu a Ellie, mesmo sem que ela saiba ou note, e quando ela via que ele a estava protegendo e o cobrava, ele sempre respondia com um "ok" ou com um "tá", como é possível notar na festa em que a Ellie e a Dina se beijam e o Seth diz que a Ellie é mais uma sapatona e na última cutscene, quando ela diz que não era para o Joel atormentar o Jesse sobre as patrulhas dela. O Joel entendia o que a Ellie estava sentindo e devido ao amor imensurável que ele tinha por ela, ouso dizer que até maior que o amor que ele tinha pela própria Sarah, ele nunca foi capaz de discordar dela.
    Achei a história desse jogo ruim, por isso a nota 3, e por ela ser ruim, fez o jogo se tornar um dos melhores que já joguei, positivamente porque me fez sentir emoções que nunca senti em nenhum filme, série ou jogo antes. Negativamente por forçar a perda dos dedos da Ellie, deixou-me com um sentimento de raiva e tristeza imensurável, por a Naughty Dog ter feito isso, ter tirado da Ellie a única coisa que a ligava ao Joel, o violão.
    Forçar querer entender o lado da Abby, em uma era onde o ser humano perdeu todo o sentido de humanidade.
    Além da morte de "merda" que o Joel teve, totalmente sem honra e completamente humilhante.
    Espero que tenha um The Last of Us Part 3, e que seja com a Ellie, não com a Abby, pois The Last of Us é e sempre será Joel e Ellie.    … Expand

    I loved the gameplay, locations, graphics, the new clickers beautiful *chefs kiss*

    But the plot... Honestly up until I was forced to try to kill Ellie while playing as Abby I was completely on board with the plot. In a universe where it's impossible to define good/evil characters as it's a morally grey universe it's clear they tried to show Abby as a hero and Ellie as a villain because she held onto her grief and expected us to forget how Abby brutally tortured and murdered Joel like that. There is a clear plot hole from the first game where Marlene reveals they have experimented on other immune patients and all died without creating a vaccine this totally could have been a possibility for Ellie. It took a while for me to warm up to playing as Abby but by the end of Seattle day 2 I grew to like her , however I feel betrayed that we were advertised a different game. As we play through half the game as Abby it is ridiculous we weren't told that this would happen it caught a lot of people of guard and put them off .
    Lastly we should have been given a choice as to if we wanted to give up Dina and JJ and go after Abby (and kill her ) or to stay with Dina and try to work through Ellie's trauma with her help. I understand the message was revenge is not the right thing to do but it was conveyed in the worst way.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Gameplay mechanics- Smooth but straight out of 2013 with the exception of adding a jump action which is honestly pointless and going prone which I did enjoy.

    Graphics- Absolutely beautiful the best probably I’ve ever seen on any game but honestly from a AAA company that is to be expected. Graphics do nothing but get improved for games of this standard.

    Story- How in the world can you take two beloved characters and completely spit on them. They were villainized the whole game for their actions. But on the other hand we’re supposed to feel sympathy for the other main character who brutally murders one of the first beloved characters in front of the other beloved character in the waking moments of the game. The way I see it when you play as Ellie you are forced to commit very gruesome morally corrupt actions she tries to refrain from until she has to defend her self. They try to make you feel bad for killing NPC’s with names but if you go and try to play stealthily add get caught they will murder you on the spot. We are supposed to love this new character, but here is my problem with that when Ellie murders a pregnant woman in complete self-defense without knowing she was pregnant has a panic attack and vomits immediately. Abby gets the chance to murder a pregnant woman and literally is about to enjoy it for revenge until her new little best friend stops her whom she used to murder for sport. I just feel like the whole revenge plot for Ellie is revenge is bad but on the other hand for Abby it’s just dust in the wind she can get revenge and it’s no problem because she is entitled to it. To me I feel like a couple years ago they had a whole different plan for this game but suddenly decided to change it up and rushed it. I could keep writing and making random points but honestly the sequel doesn’t deserve it. At the end of the day myself as a fan is very crushed, I waited seven years after playing that first beautiful game to get this terrible sequel. It is just sad they did my favorite characters in a game so dirty and they did me dirty. You Dirty Naughty Dog.

    To wrap it up I ask what is the point of a mechanically beautiful and graphically gorgeous game if the story is going to be so shallow and a complete 180 of what the first one stood for. What I wanted was to see where the story kept going for the two characters I loved. Now I just wish I never bought this second game what a disappointment. Does it make choices that are messed up and sad? Of course it does! So did the first one! Also people are saying the writing is bad and that I do not understand.     BUT WHY IN THE **** END WOULD YOU NOT MAKE US THE PLAYERS TO MAKE THAT DECISION TO SAVE/KILL HER

    Story and flashbacks where very random and placed on random spots, if you ask me, and didnt make any sense.

They ask a lot of the player to really feel and get involved with the game, especially with Abby, but once you "feel" it, no one in their right mind can find this a terrible game. From the pacing, to the character development, it's an amazing ride from start to end.

    I can't believe that after 7 years this is what they made. This game is a massive disappointment. The plot sucks, and the leaks were unfortunately true. Outside of a few flashbacks, there's nothing enjoyable. Save your money.

Mais aussi, et surtout parce que c'est ma licence préféré. J'ai jamais connu pareil émotion en jouant à un jeu, entre peur (parfois éteignant même la play le soir à 3h du mat), tristesse (je suis peut être le seul mais des larmes ont coulé à la fin du 1) et ce DUO, merde ce duo tellement bien construit.... Vous comprendrez donc qu'attendre 7 ans n'a pas été chose facile.
    Passons donc à TLOU 2...
    J'ai mal de le dire mais l'histoire d'Abby m'a plu, et à été parfois passionnante (la mort de son père, la guerre entre Wolfs et Scars...). Après les deux premières heures de jeu avec Abby à me répéter pourquoi je l'a joue alors que j'ai une folle envie de la tuer, j'ai commencé à prendre du plaisir.
    Mais le déclic qui m'a fais comprendre que le studio avait pris le mauvais chemin sur l'histoire de TLOU2, c'est lorsque l'on joue Abby et qu'on doit tuer Elie... La s'en était trop pour moi, tuer Joel dès le début puis jouer Abby pour tuer Ellie, comment le jeu en est arrivé la. Même si le message du jeu est intéressant, la vengeance n'est pas la bonne voie, comment faire ça aux joueurs, comment nous faire ça.

    Le studio a choisit un axe audacieux ! Pourquoi pas ! Mais l'erreur c'est d'avoir sous estimé l'attachement que j'avais (et que les joueurs ont) pour Ellie et Joel. Peut importe si Elie tue une femme enceinte ou des milliers de personnes, tout est justifié (et la je parle personnellement) parce qu'Abby à tué Joel (le daron qu'on aurait tous aimé avoir, et qui nous à tenu en haleine durant les 15 heures de jeu du 1.)

I loved the hell out of this game and yeah i know people that read this review are probably gonna disagree but i liked the story, the death of Joel what surprisingly early in the game but it sets the entire revenge plot, the only thing i didn't like is that ND false advertised the story by putting Joel in scenes or make Ellie older in scenes then the published version does but putting that aside i loved it that much that i took some time to platinum it and managed to do so, Abbeys part was sometimes boring but i does make you feel for the character that did murder the series most loved character but as you'll find out it was with a reason behind it. I will end this review by saying that i can understand peoples hatred towards the game i can understand some aspects about this game could be misleading for those who really loved the first game. Do we play as Hitler and have to drown toddlers? WHAT THE **** WERE THEY THINKING???? I don't care for Abby and all her worthless friends. The game design is nice, stunning graphics, immersive sound, fun gameplay, but the plot was honestly just terrible. The way they kill off Joel, he didn't die saving Ellie or doing something heroic, he died to someone he saved. Naughty Dog really killed him off just like that. Not only that, but we also get to play as Abby, the girl who killed Joel in cold blood after he saved her. After Joel's death, it's only natural to want to seek revenge on Abby, which never actually happens. In the end, we're left with Ellie who is now alone and missing 2 fingers, while Abby is left in one piece. Ellie went through everything for absolutely nothing, if you're in it for the gameplay, by all means, go ahead buy it, but if you played the first game and are mostly there for the plot beware, you might be dissapointed.… Expand

If they made a part 2 I always wanted it to be a prequel showing the bad side of Joel those first beginning years of the outbreak. Needless to say Joel is my favorite character. Now I am used to characters dying because I am a game of thrones fan and I kinda appreciate what they were trying to do here but it just felt lacking. Joel deserve more even if your going to kill him off. There were some things I really liked about the game though. The graphics were sex an upgrade probably some of the best. I ever seen. To be honest. It felt as thought the mechanics didn't get much of an upgrade but its understandable because I don't know what else you could do.the puzzles really had me upset the ones in the first game were a lot better. I do like to have missons with the Joel and Ellie mechanic. Flaoting Ellie on pallets was nice and i liked the call back too it. I'll definitely be playing it again, just probably not for a few months. The story was superb, the only thing is that I would argue that it could use some re-structuring to avoid some emotional whiplash.

    My biggest complaint is that we weren't made to care about Abby before she killed Joel. We should have cared about all of her friends before Ellie killed them too. To me, that would have made playing as Abby more enjoyable (I didn't really come around to her until Yara and Nev were introduced) and it would have made it more devastating to see Ellie kill the rest, particularly Owen and Mel. When I first started playing as Abby, I legitimately went out of my way to get her killed because I just despised her. Even though I knew she was a good character with relatable motivations, I couldn't get over her killing Joel and then Jesse, who I really did like as a side character even though he was only around for maybe 20 minutes total.

    The gameplay was just a better version of the first game with more fluid movement (still not perfect, but better) and a few more mechanics/enemies. The graphics were gorgeous. The dialogue was great. Even if the story was out of order, I loved the characters and they were very real. Even though I wanted to rip my hair out a couple of times, it made sense to me that neither women were willing to lay aside their revenge. And by the end, Ellie's actually become more of a villain, which was a reflection of how Joel lost his way and went to **** after Sarah/before Ellie.

    Even though it hurt and it was difficult, Joel's death made sense for the story. In a lot of ways, it was a bit of karmic retribution for all the bad he'd done. Most of which we as the audience don't know about because it wasn't the focus of the first game. If we'd followed Abby's story from the beginning and not known the man she was hunting was Joel, she would have been a sympathetic hero from the start. By the end, I loved her almost as much as Ellie, which I think was impressive considering how much I disliked her at first.

    I would actually say this game is between a 9-10 with its weaknesses, but it's closer to a 10 than a 9.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So this is my first review of a game but I feel I have a relatively unbiased opinion that I can share. I hope it helps someone. There are spoilers below but I have tried to be vague when possible to prevent ruining it for anyone who hasn't finished it and/or has not read into the internet anti-hype. I broke this into two sections: story & gameplay. Story: I want to say the ending is actually fine and I'm not as mad about it as I thought I would be. The story hinges on a cliche revenge arc with Ellie out to spill blood to reach a sense of closure. Half the game you play as Abby, the source of Ellie's anger. At first I was frustrated about this but it ended up being okay, I enjoyed seeing both sides of a story. As things progress you become angrier and angrier at certain characters and the writing attempts to fill you with confusing hate: "I hate Abby and I want her to die but now I'm starting to understand and feel for her. But she still deserves it." it's unorthodox which makes the player uncomfortable. That's intentional. You experience stories and letters that show the humanity of those you may (or may not) kill to progress the storyline. Again, this makes you feel conflicted and guilty (for some players) but in certain situations its a necessary evil for survival. That's the universe they've created, people do awful things on both sides. Upon completing the game you'll perhaps come to a lack of closure as many have. However, in my interpretation justice was served to a degree with the suffering and pain brought upon the antagonist (but is Abby an antagonist?). However you want to perceive it, it's done and that's what we received. All in all, the story is fine. It's not far from a cookie cutter revenge story without the revenge but at least it's different. Gameplay: It's beautiful, nearly flawless and I never caught any significant bugs except one instance where I fired a gun and the art from the flash stayed on the gun the rest of the level. Not game breaking but a little silly. That being said, it's realistic and there isn't a lot of variety. You do the same thing every single fight. Sneak around and slit everyone's throat or aggro them and let them come at you one at a time and kill them with melee weapons (ammo isn't exactly easy to come by and the AI behavior of human enemies is pretty predictable). Every time. Same thing. I got so frustrated I just started sprinting through battles to proceed. Combat against infected was more enjoyable. The behavior of the infected (especially stalkers) was much more diverse and enjoyable but it still got very repetitive over time. I truly wish I enjoyed the combat more.

    Considering the semi disappointing story (although not quite as weak as the internet made it seem) and the repetitive slave like combat (slave like in the sense you don't really have much freedom to experiment) but the beautiful imagery and recreation of these real places in the US, I'd give it a realistic 6 out of 10. It's a fine game, not great, won't ever play it again. Moving on with my life.    … Expand

I feel like anyone who rated this game under 8 stars is a jackass. It isn’t “political” it’s REAL. I loved the story. I LOVED that you get to see things from the other side as well. The whole thing broke my heart and had me hooked at the same time! Ending was a little sad. I hate that she can’t play guitar anymore!

    How the story is told generate instant and passionate Hatred of Abby and most players won't even want to finish the game because of this.

    This game should've started with Abby...
    Letting us grow her character creating some attachment to her and leading up to the moment
    she meets and kill Joel. Then moving on to Ellie wanting revenge for Joel's death.
    Not killing Abby in the end is also a big mistake and completely enrages most players.

    The game graphics and game mechanics are great but the story is the main issue here.

    For this reason I remove 2 whole points. The story is neither bad nor good, it is as dark and heavy as a horror story (even worse). It describes the reality of human beings living in a post-apocalyptic world and learning with their mistakes, and paying for their acts (or sins).

    The characters were also very "reworked" (Joel becomes sensitive and inattentive in comparison with the first game, and other new characters comes from nowhere, maybe not precisely seen on the first game).

    It's clear that this game tells us a concept of a world in critical situations, but this was not related in exact at the first game, which made me feel very sad for the Part II (considering part I was also sad from the start to the end).

    I was aware of all these points and can understand the bad reviews about the story (which is not a scripted story but a concept), but to be honest, the game is not just the story.

    And even if it was because of the story that the game received positive reviews, people must know that this is a negative part of the game (in my case -2 points) and not the whole. The game did not innovate a lot in comparison with the first game, but it followed a good position.

    I forgot to mention that from the -2 points of my review, one was considering the unclear launch and confusing organization of the game. The company needs to improve this, and I mean by a LOT, literally!

    The first game is scored 10 for me and I recommend it. Now part II... if you like the "script" about Ellie and Joel, consider skipping this game and have fun with TL OU part I and its "DL Cs", because they are quite good.

    Now if you don't care about the concept of this game, I would think twice, before playing, because this game has a very distorted and dark (even violent) story. And other than that, mechanics are not deep explored, just a few minorities were implemented.    … Expand

The game plays very well it looks great and the story isn’t that outrageous ofcourse joel was gonna die that was obvious from the moment we completed the first game if they ever did a sequel, along with quality of life upgrades the game is greatly enhanced.
    Now for the bad part eventhough we can understand abbys anger over her fathers death the game doesn’t give us a real connection to abby until near enough the end of the game really the game wasn’t structured well rather than change characters at the 12 hour mark they should have switched between the 2 characters throughout the game that way it would have flowed better and we wouldn’t feel as angry about being forced to play as abby especially after spending so much time with ellie and upgrading her aswell also there’s no real dialogue between ellie and abby in any of their interactions ellie doesn’t even know abbys reason for killing joel she just assumes it’s in retaliation for the fireflies and not someone as close as her own father i feel if this dialogue was used then ellies decision to let abby live at the end would have had more context and understanding.

    Joel was more carefree, yes. But just remember he was living in a peaceful community for the past years with his brother and Ellie. The coffee exchange and Ellie’s birthday gift also implies that he is really more at ease and trusting people again (and taking risks). Ellie quest was not only revenge, she was trying to find a way to forgive Joel. It is clear that she was lost (after killing Mel and Owen she realizes that she went too far). Anyway, although Joel died, I assume he died happy because of what Ellie said. And just a small detail, when Ellie went to talk to him, he was playing the same song as when Ellie kissed Dina at the dance. I just can’t dislike this game.    … Expand

    su historia es una burla al primer juego. nos obligan a jugar con el personaje que mato a nuestro protagonista para internar darle afecto y es pobre. la proxima vez tienen que cerrar el estudio antes de comenzar otro juego.

That means I saw everything thay happens in this game in context and I finished it a few days ago and have sat on it to let my immediate reaction pass and write this logically. A complete assassination of the characters of the original game that ends in a mean spirited and unsatisfying way. If you enjoyed the first game for the relationship between ellie and joel, pass this one up as it has nothing to do with that. It manages to make you hate everyone in it and leaves you feeling empty after finishing it. Definitely overstays its welcome for about 15 hours too. Graphics are obviously great and gameplay is basically the same just flashier with a few new toys. Pass this one up guys, dont let the hype get to you. Not even going to go into how there are literally character skin swaps and false lines recorded just to be in the trailers to mislead the consumer about what this game is about. Naught Dog and Niel Druckman **** this one up. Big time.… Expand

    Troppo monotonia? Ho fatto una fatica boia a finirlo, una vera tortura e devo dire che ha spezzato il legame dei fan con la saga. La narrativa è assurdamente pesante se a questo ci aggiungi la fatica che fai per farcela a non spaccare la play, è veramente dura.

    This game does a complete disservice to the original game while it literally spits on a beloved character the only up side to it was enhanced graphics. But the story becomes a complete dumpster fire 0/10 would never recommend!

    Simplemente lo mejor, toda una pelea con los demonios internos de dos personas con una conclusión satisfactoria, difícil volver a ver un juego como este.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Fantastic game. The gameplay is much sharper than original, really fun to play. Probably the best looking game on the PS4. The story (which is the most important part) is testing, dark and will invoke genuine postive and negative emotion. Overall a really traunatic experience (in a good way) playing this game . Side note: there really is no "agenda" - just play it for yourself.… Expand

    Just finished the game, loved it. A lot (although not all) of the criticism is definitely due to the leaks not presenting the full picture. The same story will feel very different when retold in short and when you see it in full
    The game is sometimes a bit too blunt when trying to convene a point, a bit of subtlety wouldn't hurt here and there.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
