Although the game is very sad and shocking, it makes many people angry and annoyed, but it does not affect me. The determination to buy the game is because the plot is already like that. The game itself is still very good. So even though it’s sad to learn about Joel through the drama, it still looks similar, but I still want to buy it because he is the type of game I like and hate him because the plot does not meet the public’s requirements? El juego esta muy bueno en cuanto a calidad gráfica la historia llena de sed de venganza y a la vez de arrepentimiento la escena donde matas a nora refleja perfectamente la sed de sangre de ellie la brutalidad con la que la asesina y sobretodo su cara llena de odio me pone la piel China es mi parte favorita del juego pero no todo es color de rosa no me gustó para nada el final me pongo a pensar realmente valió la pena?? Todo el sacrificio de crusar medio país y encontrar a los asesinos de Joel para que al final después de matar a todos los involucrados y dejar libre a la culpable de todo a parte de matar a joel matar a prácticamente toda la familia y amigos de Ellie y que aparte le haya quitado dos dedos hubiera sido mejor si hubiera matado a abby intentaron hacer que empatizaramos con abby pero vamos maro a el protagonista del primer juego y eso a los fans no les gustó nada hubiera quedado mejor si hubiera matado a abby… Expand

    Myself, as many others, got curious by the supposed ”leaks” and went and looked into them. I was devastated, I didn’t want to believe anything that i saw in those leaks. A lot of people were mad because of those leaks, a lot of people are mad because of the story in this game, there are even some that are angry because of the characters in this story. Because of this, this game has received over 60000 reviews, as of today, which is more than double the amount of reviews that God of War (2018) has, and that game has been out for 2 years. TLOU2 hasn’t even been out for a week.
    After about 22 hours I have completed this game, and decided to come here with a more positive take on this game. First, the graphics. The graphics in this game is phenomenal. ND knows how to make a game look and feel alive. Secondly, the story. A lot of people hated the story. While i do agree that this game had a worse story than the first one, I didn’t think it was as bad as people are making it out to be. While it doesn’t have as many meaningful moments as the first one, this one has a story that keeps you mostly invested until the end. The last thing I want to talk about in my review is the gameplay. I have seen a couple of reviews stating that the gameplay is outdated and boring, which I cannot understand. Sure most of the puzzles can get repetitive, but the combat makes up for it. The combat is amazing. The way people react to getting shot in the foot and starts moaning about it, and how they can bleed out after getting shot with an arrow in the neck just adds to the immersion. I also liked that they included specialized skill trees for stealth, melee and gunplay.    … Expand

    Don’t understand the hate this game seems to be getting. It had me at the edge of my seat the entire time. It was filled with plenty of thrilling action set pieces and beautiful environments. The story had some moments that I thought brought it down a tad but nothing big enough to take me out of it. It was gripping the whole way through and I really enjoyed the ending.     I don't usually take time out of my day to review games, but the overwhelmingly negative scene here has made me jump in. So here's my honest and personal take:

    Yes, it could have been better, but this is by no means a bad game. I think the story was pretty good, not groundbreaking, but still very good! The best way I could describe it is a jigsaw puzzle that's been put together wrong - all the pieces are there and are great, but they're put together in the wrong way. It's hard to care about a character or event, when you get to see the motivation behind it or their actions 10 hours later - just doesn't make a lot of sense. The ending is very polarizing - you're either love it or hate it. MOST of the new characters are kind of bland, but there are some notable exeptions.
    Game plays exactly like the 1st one, just more of the same and it does get tedious at times. But bottom line - t's still fun, it's polished and you can skip a lot of encounters if that's your cup of tea!
    As many other people have said, if this was a standalone game, and we didn't have to heavily compare it to the original, a lot of the hate would not exist.
    If these points are not a turn off for you - play the game! I personally have no regrets and feel like I got my money's worth.    … Expand

A partir de esto hablaré sobre las cosas que pude observar del juego, como primer aspecto fue sus físicas, sus increíbles mecánicas de las armas, objetos, etc. Ahora si vamos por la parte mala del juego seria en más suPara empezar le doy una calificación de este número al juego por dos motivos, buen apartado gráfico y una interesante historia (no siendo tan perfecta, claramente).     No opino que el juego sea una basura, pero se debió mejorar un par de cosas.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Look. I am hurt that the story is not great. I feel that Joel was done wrong and that Abby was way to forced on the player. But the gameplay is phenomenal. Every situation felt tense and I always felt like the odds were never too unfair. To me gameplay is one of the most important things , and despite the story being bad (at least in the second half) I enjoyed my time with the Last of Us 2. Part 1 will always be my favorite, but two is a great game. Just a bad movie/sequel.… Expand

    Although the story was a bit disappointing, the gameplay, graphics, and overall sound design and music made me love this game and although at times I feel conflicted on how I feel about this game, it has definitely made a lasting impression.

    First off, let me say that almost everything about this game - the visuals from graphics to environment design, animation, voice acting, gameplay (in my opinion, although some people disagree) - everything but the story is absolutely impeccable. The technical presentation is amazing. Pretty much all of my criticism is based entirely on the story, and even if I absolutely hated the story (which I didn't) I would probably have to give the game at least a 5/10 despite it being story-driven.

    I'm not totally sure of how to feel about this game. I think I'd rate it between about 7.5 and 8.5 overall. The story was FINE in general. I did enjoy it, and I certainly didn't hate some parts as much as many people did, but it wasn't perfect - there were some strange decisions made in the writing, and I think the whole experience could've been much better if not for some poor execution at a few key moments. There are some pacing issues, and I think the game was a tad overlong even if I was mostly enjoying it. The story is polarizing, and not for no reason - if you're willing to roll with the story and it lands for you, then there's a chance for you to like it, but if you aren't or it doesn't then the entire intended theme and story structure will likely crumble in your eyes. With that said, with some patience and the willingness to be open minded about characters and the story the game is trying to present, I think it is still fairly enjoyable.

    I would warn players that it would be doing this game a disservice to go in with preconceptions and expectations about what it is going to be about. It comes after the first game, but it is not just a direct continuation of that game's story; at least, it doesn't feel that way. There is exaggeration and tribalism on both sides of the strange war in the gaming community about this game. I'd recommend that interested players don't listen to any of that, from anyone (including me, really), and just experience it for themselves before forming an opinion.

    And for the record:

    I loved the first game, and its characters, and understood it, and still enjoyed this game.

    I disagree that it deserves 10/10, but the bombing of 0/10 reviews (and, truthfully, the counter-bombing of 10s, even if I understand why) is ridiculous.

    You're allowed to like or dislike the game. Whatever you naturally feel about it is OK, and it's OK for people to disagree with you. The rampant tribalism and toxicity about it online is infuriating and sickening. It's especially ironic because it is about this game specifically. People just need to calm down, even if they're disappointed in this thing that they've been waiting for and invested in.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I’ve been seeing all of the hate for this game and I frankly think that it is a large overreaction and partially a bandwagon. That’s why I made an account on here just to speak my mind. The preface this, I have played the Last of Us 8 times over the past 5 years. The moment I grabbed a PS4 I hopped on this game and it was a very moving point in my gaming. I consider it my favorite single player story driven game of all time. So to address the elephant in the room, I’ve seen plenty of reviews and memes on the “monstrosity” “dumpster fire” and “complete disappointment” that is TLOU2. That is simply not true. So from the beginning of this game, I had seen the reviews and I thought I was walking into a disaster of a game. I had briefly seen the leaks beforehand, mostly including Joel’s death, but I assumed that there was some major glitches or a completely horrible story that would outrage people. I played through the first few chapters and I was dumbstruck as to why people would think this game is bad. For someone who put so much time into the first game, the scenery, improved gameplay, and immersive story was a breath of fresh air and a great addition to the first game. The scenery: gorgeous landscapes, impressive graphics, the character mapping was pretty accurate, and the detail put into even the disgusting infected.

    Improved gameplay: They’ve improved on almost every level here. New craftables, new unlockable perks and weapon upgrades, a new hand to hand combat system so that clickers aren’t an unbearable rage inducing thing, and PRONE. The stealth in this game has gotten a lot more immersive as you’re hunted by dogs and any wrong move makes you instantly regret it. Immersive story *SPOILER*: The early death of Joel and the moral grey area that the game gives you halfway through when you start playing as Abby is such an eye opener on the good that the WLF actually does, and it makes you feel justified regret over the killing spree you go on in the first game.

    To top this all off, the alleged LGBT views being “shoved down your throat” is completely appalling. People are gay. It’s a thing. People have an issue saying that being gay is Ellie’s entire personality, which is untrue. I see her as much more of a hurt badass killing machine that sees the error of her ways after doing it. All in all, it did not make me feel quite as involved as the first game, but the scores it had been getting are ridiculous and unjust.

    The game isn’t bad, it’s actually quite good, people just have a hard time thinking for themselves. A lot of reviews I’ve seen are from people who have also just watched the game on YouTube or Twitch. You have no right to rate the game until you’re the one that presses square to beat Nora’s head in.    … Expand

    It's a good game. The characters are amazing. It's not a 10/10 but it's certainly not a 0. It's so sad this hate campaign because it's so rare to se a game so moraly intrincated, so critical about the state or things we r living. I think it's amazin hto have a game fulfilling his social role. As a social statement this game is a 1000/1000.

    The script could be better, we should have played with Ellie more and also we should have seen Joel more even if he would die eventually. Abby scenes was unnecessarily too long and it killed the emotions that we need to feel. This story could be a better revenge story

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Ok so, I’m putting this out there, I liked The Last of Us Part 2. However I do see it as lower than the original and could’ve used a bit more work story wise.

    Gonna start with what I liked:
    -Story overall was pretty good and left me pretty satisfied in the end and feeling feels (To an extent), I’ll touch base on what I didn’t like in a bit
    -Loved the variable difficulty settings, made supplies a bit more scarce towards the middle/end of my playthrough.
    -The new AI is pretty good and caught up behind me a few times and everytime I did die from them I knew it was because I screwed up in some way.
    - It was very interesting getting to play from both Ellie’s perspective and Abby’s perspective of the events.
    - Loved all the new weapons and crafting you can utilize as well as being able to crawl/go prone in really tall grass -Some characters I initially hated at first kinda grew on me as I hung out around them and explored more. (Still some I didn’t like though)

    The cons/Stuff I didn’t super like:
    -There were two or so beats in the story I did. Not. Like. And super, duper major spoilers. 1. Killing off Joel fairly early in the story. Yes it is later touched on why Abby did it but it was super bittersweet especially right at the beginning and definitely felt more style over substance. 2. The ending/epilogue. I grew attatched to Dina x Ellie having a happy ending/life in the mid-point of the game and Ellie just... loses it all at the end. All for her revenge against Abby which in the end she doesn’t even finish her off, instead she lets her go.. makes the entirety of the Santa Barbara section of the game feel completely moot. Not too mention the downer of an ending, I’m all for depressing endings but that needs to be earned.

    - I did have a few moments where their backpacks kinda bugged out but nothing super game breaking

    - Some movements like horse and boat were a little janky and took a bit too long to get used to.


    In all, solid 7.5 or 8/10. Below the first game yes but TLoU 2 is a damn solid game and is a fairly worthy sequel, unfortunately some beats of the story do leave a bit to be desired. The critiques I understand and can see where some people are having issues, I will say hypothetically, out of 20 people, maybe 2 or 3 that ACTUALLY play it will not like it.    … Expand

El juego es bueno en varios aspectos, la historia tiene huecos que al principio son pequeños pero después te das cuentas que si le pudieron dar un empujón al juego, la muerte de el protagonista del anterior juego pudieron haberla hecho mas elaborada, también me parece algo sumamente tonto que Abby se encontrara con Joel de pura casualidad y que Joel no desconfiara, también entiendo que no tenia otra opción el y Tommy, pero pudieron haberlo hecho más interesante. El gameplay esta muy bien hecho, los combates tienes que hacerlos mas estratégicos en dificultades altas, guardar recursos, explorar lo mas posible y hacer uso del sigilo. Si la historia no hubiera tenido esos huecos pudo haber sido el mejor juego. El juego me recordó mucho a Metal Gear Solid 2, como si Abby fuera Raiden. Personalmente quiero que haya un DLC donde Ellie mate a Abby, al estilo de God of War como con poseidon xd. -navimh… Expand

However, I think it’s important to note that this was a great story, despite people who want to trash talk them killing Joel. What did we really expect? Ellie and Joel would live happily ever after? Since the beginning of the outbreak, Joel had been racking up a list of people that would want him dead, and eventually it would make sense to catch up with him. However there was some missing pieces that I wish we would’ve gotten. I.e. doesn’t Ellie feel guilty because she was inadvertently the reason Joel dies? Prior to finding Owen & Mel, does Abby have some regrets of killing Joel? It’s lightly touched and hinted that the reason she goes back for Yara & Lev was to atone for sins in a way, but it could’ve been touched on more. As always, the graphics were beautiful, the voice acting and music was perfect, and the gameplay was mostly great. The biggest complaint being it got to a point where it felt like you were drudging along. That you just needed to get to the next scene, to the next piece of the story. The never-ending barrage of running all over God’s green Earth began to get agitating. I even felt like I appreciated the game more after beginning Abby’s section, which added some depth other than the jacked **** with the braid who rocked Joel’s world. Overall I think the game is great, however, I think Naughty Dog has some fixing to do if there is to be a third. Perhaps Abby reuniting with the FireFlies and Ellie eventually being able to give a cure with the help of Abby. It has a lot of potential from here to finish the series on a bittersweet note.

    TL;DR: the game is not for the faint of heart. It is definitely a set up for a softer sequel similar to the first game. If you are easily offended by plot lines that aren’t generic, run the other way. But if you’re open to it, there’s a lot to be said, and a lot of places to go from here.    … Expand

Here's why: as a huge fan of Joel and Ellie I couldn't play as Abby, or even fight Ellie. She is a good character, but I think it was not enough to just show that zebra scene. Show us how she loved her father. 10-15 hours playing her line was an absolute nightmare. And that fight... Every time she punched Ellie I was like "ND please don't do it. Don't do it with me". At first, the ending was disappointed, but after replaying it I understood everything ND was trying to show. This is not a bad game. This is just the game people don't like. It's depressing, sad, but it's good. I just love Ellie so much that I can't imagine her being only by herself. It's sooo depressing for me.

    P.S. remember when Sam asked Ellie what were she scared of at part 1? "Being by myself...I'm afraid of ending up alone". Think about the ending of part 2 after that.

    For all those who played it and gave 2/10 or smt - give it a chance. Rethink about the whole game and things ND was trying to show.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. No game is perfect (except for Red Dead 2), but this one is pretty good. Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us 1 were better, though. This one kind’a feels like pure torture porn and was a real downer; could have done with some comedic relief if they didn’t kill off all the likable characters just as they started to get interesting. Looking at you, Jesse.

    Overall, pretty good game. Story kept me interested and had me attempting to understand characters’ mindsets and why they were doing the things they were doing. Which, nowadays, is pretty rare. Most games just have a bad guy who is the bad guy and you don’t really have to think about anything else except for how you were going to kill them and how many more fights it would take to get to the next boss fight or cool cutscene. Gameplay was tense and engaging, which is always nice, and it never really got old for me as I was playing on really hard difficulties where I was basically fighting bros with a pair of pampers diapers stuffed inside a bottle of vodka with only a single bullet in my **** starter pistol.

    I know some of the **** that goes down really sucks, boys, but that shouldn’t mean the game is a 0. I’ve played 100+ games on my ps4 (I have pc, xbox 360, one, and switch) alone, and I don’t think I’ve ever played a game that was a zero. Like, c’mon guys, let’s be rational. If an 8 is an 80% or a B in the American education system, then that is what I’m giving this game. I dunno, thought it was fun. Hopefully you can respect my opinion and I’ll respect yours in return. Just wish everybody could get along, I guess. Makes me sad seeing us all divided over this in such a chaotic time. But, yeah, the people that are saying this game is life-altering or that it’s some sort of profound piece of art need to shut up as it’s really cringey. Yeah, I found it to be an interesting dive into the mindsets of two characters parallel to one another as well as the themes of revenge not being worth it in the end. And, yes, I did find that it tied in with the real world and connected to me on a personal level, as I think everyone has wanted to get back at someone for something but then realized it would be futile on the end. So, yeah, it gave me a new perspective on the idea of revenge, but it’s not like it’s some life-altering piece of art, man. This is a game where you punch mushroom people in the face, it’s not that deep.

    El juego esta siendo criticado por un porcentaje de personas porque Ellie y Dina son HOMOSEXUALES osea no es posible la verdad la falta de educacion en las personas como catalogar que es "malo" o un "delito" ser homosexual sabiendo que en la primera entrega de the last of us ya se sabia que ellie era homosexual en el dlc de left behind se puede ver claramente que ellie es homosexual hasta una vez el propio creador del juego (Neil Druckmann) en una entrevista años antes habia dicho que ellie era lesbiana,ahora tu para criticar el juego por eso cuando era algo que ya se sabia,es de que tienes que estar mal amigo.

    el juego es muy bueno al inicio de la trama si se sintio un poco pues triste ver la muerte de joel unas de las cosas que no me gusto del juego sobre su muerte es en la forma en que murio nose si se vio un poco forzada su muerte como si el papel del personaje ya no sirviera me hubiera encantado poder manejar un poco a joel como en la primera entrega que manejabas a ellie y a joel.
    Me parecio muy bien en la forma que quisieron hacer la trama en buscar venganza por la muerte de joel matando uno por uno a los compañeros de Abby ya que participaron en la muerte de joel,algo que si te deja un poco pues sacado de onda es controlar todo de nuevo pero desde la perspectiva de Abby como pasan los dias etc. En la parte donde Abby va a lugar donde se encuentra Tommy,Jessie,Dina y Ellie,cuando Abby pelea con Ellie no me gusto que controlaramos a Abby no se porque lo hicieron asi la verdad.Pero en el verdadero final cuando Ellie se encuentra con Abby me hubiera gustado nose aue en vez del final que Ellie deja vivir a Abby hubiera algun tipo de eleccion si matarla o dejarla vivir. Bueno conclusión en la historia:En el juego nos da entender que ningun personaje es bueno dando a entender que Joel no fue una persona del todo buena mato a personas como Abby y Ellie. La gente critica el juego por el downgrade vamos todos los juegos siemore utilizan downgrade en caso de este juego no es casi nada de diferencia a los trailers todo lo que se muestra en los trailers de jugabilidad estan.Me encanto su jugabilidad como te acuestas en la hierba para no ser descubierto cuando te tiran una flecha y haces la animacion de que te la quitas como se comportan los enemigos como hay obstaculos. El como mejorar tus armas los objetos que puedes utlizar a tu favor como crear un silenciador,una bomba,molotov etc todo todo fue muy bien creado el juego mis respetos felicidades a naugthy dog espero la tercera entrega ¡felicidades!

    The gameplay was great for the most part but some of it felt clunky. The stealth was great, and being able to both crouch and crawl to escape and sneak up on enemies was one of the game’s best mechanics. Cracking the safes were fun mini games too; you were really rewarded for exploring the world! However, the hearing vision took too long to come up which caused me to avoid using it much, and having to press a button to open/close the crafting window during combat caused me to miss a few opportunities. Having to mash square all the time quickly became repetitive, it would have been nice to see games make more use of the touch pad in those situations. Every quick time event was “mash square”, with the respite of holding triangle to open doors. It got old fast. Also the hand to hand combat (mash square plus dodging) was a bit naff, it would have been nice if there were a few more mechanics there.

    Graphics: 10/10
    The graphics were excellent, probably the best I’ve seen on a console. The environment was beautiful and fitted the world perfectly; it all looked so real! I only had a couple of glitches throughout the entire game. Only two or three times the clicker didn’t render in a death cutscene, and again only twice the environment disappeared for less than a second; but the first time it happened I was trying to find where my companion went, who was visible when the world disappeared, so I think “it’s not a bug, it’s a feature” fitted there.. the second time it happened was just a glitch though. But still the graphics were pretty much perfect so 10/10!

    Narrative: 5/10
    The story beats let the game down. Some moments have become controversial due to their poor execution and neglect the fans to favour shocking scenes. The pacing felt off and sometimes the cutscenes weren’t interesting enough to make the battle feel worth while, especially during the second half. The letters and notes hidden around had the best writing in the game though. It could have been much better, but overall It was interesting enough to keep me going until the end. The game was spoiled for me before I played it so it didn’t have as much of an impact on me as it perhaps could have.

    Experience: 7/10
    The world felt like a harsh realistic zombie apocalypse and the game did that well considering the graphics and the base world story (the original last of us world helped here). However, the narrative negatively impacted it; I didn’t always understand the character motivations for certain actions, some didn’t seem very realistic. Also I often didn’t know where to go, which was annoying and broke my immersion, but still, I guess that did seem realistic because the character wouldn’t know where to go in a new area they they haven’t been before. I wish it had made more use of background music, there was very little; although being able to play the guitar was fun for me.

    Conclusion:
    The game had a different feel to the original, but I’m not too bothered by that in terms of it as a stand-alone game. However, I would have preferred the sequel to the generally consider masterpiece “the last of us” to have taken a different route story-wise, but the game still has its merits. 7.5/10    … Expand

[OPINION CON SPOILERS] El juego es bueno, la primera mitad que juegas con ellie puedo decir que es de lo mejor, personajes como jesse o dina se me hicieron buenas inclusiones, los personajes LGBT+ son buenos y no lo senti forzado, la relación de dina y ellie me encanto y con lev, si no te decían que era una chica en realidad ni te enterabas, cuando empieza la parte de abby almenos en mi caso odie esa parte, tiene lo bueno como la historia de lev y yara, el cambio por parte de abby, personajes como owen o many son buenos, aunque sepas como acabaran, como abby rompe el ciclo de venganza al no matar a ellie y dina en el teatro se logra ver su evolución como personaje, el final me dejo un mal sabor de boca pero lo siento bueno a la vez aunque algo triste, cuando estas a punto de matarla te das cuenta como finalmente ellie perdona a joel por lo que hizo y reflexiona sobre lo que estaba haciendo, la escena final de la guitarra es un adios a joel después de todo lo que paso, no es una obra maestra como la aclaman, pero tampoco es malo y no esta cerca de serlo, la muerte de joel aunque sea rapida y sin una escena mas memorable se entiende, no es algun heroe como para evitar que pasara, simplemente el pasado lo alcanzo, ellie queda devastada, herida, sin poder tocar bien la guitarra y sola, todo esto por una venganza, no es un final bueno, solo es un final y ya.… Expand

Os jogadores podem optar pelo combate furtivo, ou sair matando todo mundo logo de cara, ou até mesmo mesclar os estilos.

    Destaque para a violência gráfica, o realismo é incrível. Quando vamos modificar as armas, tiveram muito capricho aos detalhes, assim como em praticamente tudo no jogo, é bem caprichado (animações, expressões faciais, sons, etc.)

    A ambientação do jogo é excelente. Agora sobre a história que é o ponto polêmico do jogo, achei algumas coisas forçadas, algumas decisões questionáveis.. achei que poderiam ter seguido por outro caminho, mas EU, não achei ruim. Mas ainda acho a história do primeiro, bem melhor.

    Não acho justo dar uma nota baixa para o jogo apenas levando em consideração a história, mesmo que eu tivesse achado ela um lixo (o que não achei), porque existem outros fatores para serem avaliados, afinal, é um jogo. E como eu já disse, gráficos, trilha sonora, ambientação e jogabilidade, são excelentes.    … Expand

Крайне спорное решение убивать главного героя первой части..И вводить главным героем его убийцу, причем такую.. Это вообще почти никому не понравилось. Зачем её так много?! Тем не менее, игра не заслуживает таких низких оценок. Она длинная и насыщенная геймплеем и несмотря на сомнительные решения и все эти левацкие движения рассказывает достаточно интересную и захватывающую историю. Игра не шедевр, но и не провл . Невероятна игра.. Я надеюсь, что они пересмотрят все свои ошибки и сделают следующую игру лучше. Главные минусы: южет Эбби и всяэта пропаганда левая. Naughty Dog, зачем это надо было делать? Но я верю в реабилитацию. И в то, что новая история будет лучше...… Expand

    The story of The Last of Us has been with me ever since I finished the first game. That particular game for me was a 10 out of 10. Going into the sequel after years of anticipation, well needless to say the game had a huge bar to overcome. I was one of the people who had the game spoiled for me and I was also super upset about some of the events that took place. The mixed aspects of this game would be the story as it's either one you're going to either love or hate, personally I loved it for the most part. The cons for me would be that I felt as though the story went on for far to long and I can think of about three times the game could have ended hours before the actual end. The games obviously not perfect but its definitely not a 0 or 4 either. I gave it an 8 because personally I believe the good far outweighs the bad with astronomical highs followed by occasional lows here and there.… Expand

С первого прохождения я не уловил сути и хотел бежать ставить 4 и писать по большей части плохой обзор. Но я остановил себя и прошёл игру ещё раз и могу заверить что это шедевральная игра. Все 54 часа которые я потратил на эту игру я получил неизмеримое удовольствие. Да я наверное и как большинство фанатов 1 части не в восторге от сюжета но он не плохой, просто не этого мы все ждали. С технической точки зрения игра шедевр, ну тут даже объяснять не нужно. Да к некоторым из персонажей у меня не было симпатии и я им не сопереживал и по этому весь смысл сюжета для меня рушится, но я понял что хотели до меня донести и это отличная игра. Конечно не лучше 1 части, но она не достойна такого хейта от людей которую в ней даже не играли, пиздуйте в свой кс играйте говноеды.… Expand

This is the same game that I was waiting for, and those people who call it terrible and other things are better not to listen to, they did not even really play a game that lasts 18-20 hours with a leisurely passage. The problem with the people who are saying this game is a 0/10 is that that’s not even possible. Let’s say, hypothetically, the story is complete garbage, 0/10. Fine. But what about the rest of the game? What about the rest of a AAA Naughty Dog game. With more gameplay features than the first game. Better graphics than the first game. And just overall a better game not taking in story. Then, maybe it’s a 5/10. So there’s my complaint. On to the story, I think it was fairly good. The main think being that it is not a sequel to The Last of Us. It is not The Last of Us 2, but a further part of The Last of Us, or The Last of Us Part II. And I think that’s where many people go wrong when they complain about the story elements. When this game starts up, within the first two hours, we are given the death of a main character. One who we have come to love over the past seven years. But this is not the problem with the story. When you take a look back at the contents of the first game, without context from Part II, you may think this was a poor choice. And it was definitely unfavorable.
    But it was part of the story. You have to instead look at the context of Part II. Joel literally destroyed all known possibility of a cure for THE zombie apocalypse. It was completely selfish, and the irony of the situation is that he doesn’t even get to reap the benefits of what he did. That’s the gut punch. That’s the great part of the story. The fact that Ellie resents him. When Ellie begins her journey to take revenge against Abby, she is riddled with constant flashbacks and trigger moments where all she sees is Joel in pain. What happens throughout the rest of the game up to the ending is incredibly important, but irrelevant to the current topic. This changes at the very end of the game when Ellie has her final “flashback”. This time, Joel is sitting on a porch playing the guitar. He looks happy. The shows that Ellie has come to peace with Joel despite not killing Abby. This directly feeds into the 15+ hours of gameplay in between the start and finish of the game. A lot of “fans” found the gameplay unfavorable because they did not wish to play as Joel’s killer. But have you thought about the fact that the entire first half of this game, you are playing as someone who murdered multiple people in response to one death? This should not only give an effect on the character of Ellie, and it does, but it should also effect the audience. Unfortunately, no one gave it enough of a chance to let the story take hold of them in the right way. This game is not a fan service. It is not a sequel. It is a part 1.5. A part 2. And a part 3. It adds so much story that wasn’t told in the firs place, which needed to be told. while also telling the important journey that Ellie went through to get to the epilogue where she had a change of mind. She in no way forgave Abby. She simply realized that she was at peace and no longer needed to harm her. The ending is devastating to the audience because it is also devastating to Ellie and I hope I’m not the only one who realizes that.    … Expand

    Story (no spoilers):
    The big issue people are having with the game is the story. I enjoyed the story a lot. I understand why Abby was so mad and I understood why Joel was so trusting. I understand why Ellie was so stubborn and why the ending was the way it was. Honestly I thought the ending was way to long until the actual very end when I finally understood why naughty dog drew it out. The game left me laughing, yelling, screaming, swearing (with OH $#!T Moments). I ran through the game in three days and I'm definitely going to play it again once a patch comes out for the new console.

    My reasons for why it got an 8 and not 10:
    1) Almost all the missions are pretty similar. Go from point A to point B and kill hunters/zombies on the way. I would have really liked the game to change up some of the missions. Having every mission feel the same left me feeling fatigued at times.
    2) Partner AI. There were many times during my play through when whoever I was with on a mission would either completely block me from evading an enemy, or just downright be visible while I'm sneaking. The second issue doesn't actually effect game play but it does pull me out of the immersion a little considering I'm prone in the grass next to a hunter and my partner is crouched just chilling in the open.
    3) Looting. There is so much looting you have to do if you play the game on moderate difficulty or harder. Basically a 3rd of the game is opening drawers. some times I just wanna blast through enemies. I think a solve to this problem would be cheats for once you beat the game so you can replay a mission fully stacked with unlimited ammo.. That sounds really fun.

    Summary:
    All in all I loved the game and was thoroughly impressed. They brought next gen to current consoles and I think they deserve props for that. The story of revenge claws its way through the game and makes you feel empathetic for both leading characters.    … Expand

Her motivation for killing joel is lackluster "he killed my dad who was going to kill a 14 year old" and she comes across as whiney The ending is atrocious. A revenge story where at the end you....do t get revenclge, because killing and revenge are bad? An odd message considering you spend the majority of the game gutting NPCs who had nothing to do with joels death and even a pregnant woman on your quest for vengeance. You then have a protracted 15 minute hand to hand slugfest only to let abby live because....joel flashback? Unsatisfactory conclusion to an unsatisfactory game. There is also the issue of the mechanics and gameplay. Apart from the ability to go prone, a dodge button and better melee animations, the gameplay is largely unchanged from the first game. A game that came out 7 years ago. This game feels like a re skin of the first. Save your money and just replay the last of us part 1

What they are, is pissed off at certain plot points, to a degree that they ignore the rest of the game. The soundtrack for the game is incredible and immersive. The lighting and visuals are the best out of any game i've ever played. The character models aren't incredible, but to say they're bad would be wrong. Each one is unique and looks better than 90% of games. The actual acting is top notch, as expected from Naughty Dog. The atmosphere is tense as hell, and really immerses you in the game. And no, unlike what everyone says, the game is not as bleak and void of fun as they say. There's plenty of jokes and beautiful moments that make the slower parts worth it. I mean, just look at the museum scene.
    Now, where the game does fall apart, is the story. Yes, it's bad. If NG just rearranged some scenes, it would be perfectly good. The building blocks for a good story are there, but they're not put together. However, the combat system has made many improvements (besides for dodging, because god that's broken), it's so accessible that you can play it if you're visually or audibly impaired, and if you have declined motor functions. There's plenty of environmental puzzles (Even though many critics will lead you to think otherwise), and the chase scenes are tense as hell.

    The only reasons that this game is being rated so low, are:
    People are being pissy that NG made some massive jumps narrative wise
    They killed off Joel without any retribution (When he deserved it, since he removed the potential cure for humanity and killed hundreds of people)
    The story is sub-par (Haha golf joke)
    And, most of all, they're comparing it to the first game. Which is flat out unfair. Nothing they could put out could top the first game, because the first game was built around making connections and deepening them, while getting to understand and connect with characters. But there's no way they could be as compelling in a sequel, when you already know the characters inside and out, the bar is way too high, and they couldn't make any massive twists like the first game, since their personalities are already set in stone from the first.
    Overall, the game is set to way too high of a bar because of it's predecessor, but if you take it as a standalone game, it's easily an 8/10 at the very least.    … Expand

But it was justified IMO, He lies to Elli, **** over mankind, and kills a father who was just trying to do the right thing. He was being selfish, at the end of part one he kills the leader of the fire flies as well, and crossed a lot of people. On top of that Elli was okay with it as long if it could save others. People are forgetting Abby's group were almost ALL ex-firefly members. I give this an 8 because of two portions of the game if you don't follow the script it get screwed and the checkpoints are awful. And no (She isn't a tran) they also kinda show why she's big when you play as her.     I also didn't like the ending.. I understand that ellie post everything trying to get revenge on Joel's death. My understanding of the game is that it is not actually trying to teach us that revenge is wrong, but instead, showing how it affects Ellie and how she doesn't know how to let it go since she is still very young and has born in a violent world which no one have taught her the principles we know. We in real life are used to such stories and most of us know what is wrong and what's not, it doesn't happen to Ellie because in her world she don't have what we have in ours. That is why I don't think the game was teaching us that revenge is not good, we already know that, but showing how a young character in such environment copes with all of those feelings.


    Talking about the plot points and decisions, I wouldn't change what happened but I'd change how it happened. For example: Giving Joel more screen time; developing better the Abby's hunt for Joel; some of the conveniences that happens on the script and MAYBE add the option of choose what it would happen to Abby, just to satisfy the hunger of those who wants to see her dead, even though it won't be canon if a part 3 comes out.

    Anyway, I still liked and enjoyed the game even if I do not agree with how some things happened on the story. The game is definitely worth playing, and honestly it don't deserve such low rates and hating.    … Expand

Most negative reviews I've seen pin most of their disappointment on Joel's death being "out of character" and then being forced to play as Abby. And while I agree wholeheartedly that the pacing of the story is weak, I don't think the story is what's bad about this game: it's the structure of the narrative. I believe that Abby is a great character - had I started playing as Abby in Seattle without knowing what happened in Jackson, I would've been as invested in her as I was with Ellie. I would have seen the way Abby acts around Lev, and I would've seen the parallels to Ellie and Joel.

    I think ND made a mistake by having us play Ellie's story first. Imagine if the game had been advertised as being about a new character that we've never seen, you play the first half as an Abby troubled by her past, you and two kids from a cult escaping a war-torn Seattle and searching for meaning beyond this pointless fighting. Abby has nightmares about her father and how she hunted and murdered the man who killed him. As the game progresses, Abby's friends are being hunted and killed, and the player fears that Abby might be next - when finally, it's revealed that the man Abby killed is Joel, and the person you've been running from is none other than Ellie. Imagine how betrayed you'd feel as the player! You've been invested in this character, you've been rooting for her and Lev, she's gained your respect and your sympathy - and then you find out that she killed Joel?

    ND's mistake is that they never give Abby a real chance to earn our empathy/sympathy. They make you watch as she kills a character you know and love, they make you feel Ellie's bloodlust and hatred - and then they kill the game's momentum and make you revisit someone you hate. And honestly, there's almost nothing ND could have shown me that would make me understand and agree with beating someone to death with a golf club. I enjoyed the story - but the structure of the story is weak, and it kills the pacing of an otherwise phenomenal game.    … Expand

It all made sense in a way.. But at the same time it felt forced and lazy. Another point away because I felt like it was pushing political views - which is ignorant and not necessary in a video game.. They really made a point with the - your decision to keep a baby. Your decision to be a gender. Women are better than men. A pregnant woman is stronger than a non pregnant woman. Lesbians are great. Angry / almost forced or drunken sex on a boat is cool. On and on...

    It is a true masterpiece when it comes to the gameplay. That was amazing. Visuals. AI actions. Environments. Mechanics. It was so huge and immersive.. The gameplay was awesome and that can not be denied. One thing that I didn't find impressive was how, all the human enemies looked the same... They all looked like an asian woman in a way. Only a few key characters were different. Also every time someone died they yelled out a basic name like Tom, Dave, Anne, John.. Like every single time... Should have been more RNG, sometimes not saying a name but "oh god" or anything other than a basic name... After the 30th time it breaks that immersion. I am sad my son will not be able to play this game. At least for a long time.. When he was 5 he was beating Part One on grounded mode. It was a fun experience, both of us taking turns beating the game, chasing the achievements.. We played through part one so many times over the years and then waited for years on part 2.. As soon as Joel got hit, he started to cry and left.. He came back later on to see how it was going.. As soon as he seen I had to play as Abby, he said dad this game sucks you can play it and we will just play the first one together.. A child, innocent minded to political views, can understand why this game has so much hate on it.. That should say a lot..

    We had no relationship with Abby.. If they truly wanted to do the story that way, they could have delivered it differently and maybe it would have worked.. Joel killed differently and maybe a choice in the end to kill or spare Abby would have been great..

TLoU2 is such a good story! and reminder that something so insanely impact can happen at any moment, and it's up to you how you deal with that.

    to the mechanics, the game it's self is quite challenging, game does a great job of starving you but giving you just enough to succeed. lots to collect, lots to explore, tons of upgrades to both character and equipment, expanded upon the first game in pretty much every way. melee combat dodge mechanic is quick and responsive, and often feels like an out right grudge match, in a good way!

    would have given 10 or of 10 if not for one gripe. they give you a lot of land to explore and navigate the problem is , YOU HAVE TO NAVIGATE IT. some of the most challenging and often frustrating parts of the game is getting where you want to go, with city streets being just chaotic, labyrinths of elevation, paths blocked , and destruction everywhere you turn, it's really hard to find your path. AND it doesn't let you be too creative about how you get from place to place. as there are a lot of invisible walls in places you would think you should be able to get through. and with just a big landscape, and no map. After finishing the game a few days after it came out, as well as being a completionist I have to say the game gave me so many feels, even more than first game that now that I've completed it Im left feeling like there was a significant loss. The graphics and gameplay I believe were exceptional and unparalleled, the mechanics having significantly improved from the first game (despite the first game mechanics generally being decent anyway). The voice acting was spot on as per, particularly Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson did an exceptional job, as well as Shannon Woodward(Dina) and Laura Bailey(Abby) the raw emotion in this game was portrayed fantastically by these actors. Now, as to my opinion on the storyline, I was hooked by it, having avoided all leaks and spoilers. I truly was rooting for Ellie from the beginning but as time went on I started to sympathise with Abby whose character had grown over the storyline with her incorporation of Lev and Yara, whereas Ellie's character stagnated and became a bitter shell of her former self, who ignored and put the lives of her loved ones at risk even if it meant they might die for her vendetta. This was extremely sad to see them make Ellie into this character, with the ending being so unsatisfying as she literally gives up everything to get revenge, and in the finale, backs out. I'm not mad she didn't kill Abby, but there was no character growth for Ellie, she didn't have a sudden realisation or turning point where she had a logical reasoning for backing out, she just did. I wanted there to be some reconciliation or mutual 'AHA moment' between Abby and Ellie, as their stories at one point or another started to mirror each other. I do really hope they make a sequel and give Ellie the ending she and Joel deserve, maybe with her taking a fledgeling under her wing, or at least finding some peace within herself. Also, they made Tommy into a bad character, after being such a kind compassionate person, they completely did a 180 and turned him into a sharp-tongued man consumed with revenge. Why did they do this to these beloved characters?… Expand

    What can I say about The Last of Us 2? Apart from the injustice they did to a much beloved main character, and the obvious woke culture they injected into the storyline, the game is simply incredible. The graphics, the gameplay, the lighting, the details, the animation... It all pieces together beautifully. I struggled to put the controller down. I was very sceptical to begin with knowingWhat can I say about The Last of Us 2?     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
