This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So, I've played a fair bit of this game I pretty sure I'm close to the ending. The game play isn't too bad it has the odd issue with a few bugs. Though it was only released a few days ago. So, they may patch a few who knows at this point. As for the story it isn't that bad at all it makes sense some disbanded fireflies wanted Joel dead. For killing the only person who could make a vaccine and one of their fathers. It's a revenge mirror storyline in a way. If you look at the protagonist's team and antagonist's team. They, are very similar both driven by the same force. Cold hard revenge at any cost.Which in a way messes Ellie up a bit mentally after she kills the one woman at the aquarium place It really does mess her up.(she literally vomits on the floor). I would say it a very harsh story it makes you hate the antagonists then, almost understand them. It makes you see how revenge can be all consuming. If you were wondering about Abby she is a muscular, straight female character. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us part II is no masterpiece and a flawed game, but it’s still really good. So I finished playing The Last of Us pt. II and it took me a while. I’m here to talk about the good the bad and the fantastic. I am not one of those people who saw the leaks because I hate spoilers and I still don’t know what all the leaks were, but I can tell which one was one of the leaks. Now I’m going to talk about the stuff people don’t like because I want to get it out of the way. From what I can tell, a lot of people have a problem with the amount of diversity or that it’s “too woke”, if you are one of those people, I think that this complaint is invalid and that you should grow the hell up, it’s 2020 it’s, a different world now and you’re going to have to get used to how things are now. Also the the game isn’t as woke as people say it is because they’re more subtle about it and I really liked how it was handled in this game. Now another thing that a lot of people are against is the death of Joel and that it happens way too soon. When I first heard that this game was about Ellie’s quest for revenge I was a bit worried and in the trailers it seemed like Dina who is Ellie’s love interest is the one who gets killed, but instead it was Joel. I’ve heard a lot of people saying that Dina should have been the one to be killed and not Joel. As much as I loved the character of Joel in the first game and I was very upset when he died, I honestly thought that this made more sense because not only is it a good motive for Ellie, but also because you as the player and a fan of the first game, you feel motivated to get revenge on the people who did this. If it was Dina who got killed, I don’t think I would have been motivated at all, however I wish we spent more time with Joel before he was killed, but it’s really not that big of a deal. Before I get to the stuff I really loved about this game I have to talk about the stuff I didn’t like. When Ellie finally decides that her quest isn’t worth it and decides to go home, Abby, the person who killed Joel and Ellie’s main target tracks her down and finds Ellie because Ellie has been all over Seattle killing Abby’s friends, and it then cuts to a flashback to four years prior and we finally learn why she killed Joel, (I wont spoil this because it’s one of the best parts of the game) I almost liked this but then it cuts to the same time Ellie first arrives to Seattle but we see it from Abby’s POV. I understand what they were trying to do with this part, but I feel like they were asking too much for us to care, however there were some things that I liked about this part but I honestly think that they should have just showed us the flashback from four years prior and then cut back to the present. I think maybe it would have been better if this part was offered to us as a dlc like “Left Behind” or something, if it were like that then I would probably like this game way more

Since it’s a game by naughty dog, there was a lot of stuff that I really liked. First off the graphics are AMAZING and it’s probably the best graphics I’ve ever seen in a video game. I was really sold on Jackson as a survival colony and I really wish we could have seen more but it’s no big deal. I thought Dina served as a good love interest To Ellie and I really liked her character. The gameplay is a major upgrade from the first game. Another thing I really liked was the flashbacks with Joel and Ellie. I honestly liked Abby as a character and I really liked how she’s more than just a villain and I did like that they showed that her and Ellie aren’t that different from each other. Out of all the good things in this game, the best part was Ellie. When I heard that we were going to be playing as Ellie in this game I was pretty excited because I thought that she was a great character in the first one and I wish we could spent more time with her there but we’re mostly playing as Ellie in part II, and I really think that Ellie had a really good arc in this game and I know that a lot of people are calling the ending BS but I really liked it and it was really nice to see how much Ellie has evolved and the person she has become. The Last of Us part II isn’t a masterpiece it has some things that rub me the wrong way and I really didn’t want a sequel to The Last of Us, but I’m glad it’s here because I had good time playing this game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last Of Us Parte ll es un juego hermoso!
    Gracias The Naughty dog!!!!!

    Argument:
I start with the most important part of the game which is the plot and which is a controversial equivalent generator. The plot seems very interesting to me, Naughty Dog's decision to kill an iconic character like Joel within 2 hours of the game seemed quite risky and brave to me. And this death was what detonated the entire history of this game, since Ellie goes from being a nice girl in the first game to a girl mowed for revenge killing whoever crosses her path to obtain the location of Abby who is the murderer of Joel and also the protagonist in the middle of this game. Bear in mind that this argument seems intriguing to me regarding the dramatic change in Ellie's character regarding personality, as I mentioned before sympathizing with a ruthless avenger, but I consider this plot "cliché" since there are already several films with the argument that The protagonist is killed by a loved one and he seeks revenge, so I consider this as something unoriginal but interesting at the same time. On the other hand, it seems incredible to me from Naughty Dog to make us play with the character of Abby before she murdered Joel, since she presents us with a common and ordinary character without knowing that at the time and users would be hating her to death (as was my case) and also how we introduced ourselves in the middle of the game, because she finally and Alcabo killed Joel because he killed the doctors and fireflies in the hospital part at the end of the first game, and the doctor in charge of Getting the vaccine was Abby's father, so up to that point the users or well in my case in particular made me empathize more with Abby, and not only was that, but in all the part of when we played with Abby we realized that she is actually a good person who dedicates herself to helping others as she did with the 2 seraphite children Yara and Lev who for them even betrayed her group of the "wolves" in order to protect them. I personally had many mixed feelings in this game, on the one hand I hated her for killing Joel and on the other I began to like the character of Abby, for which the way Naughty Dog handled this story seems impressive to me.

    Gameplay:
I loved the gameplay, it is very similar to the first game but obviously with many improvements. I played it hard and I really suffered in some parts of the game, most of the time especially with Ellie I only had 4 bullets at most and life in red so I had to use stealth a lot and think a lot about what it was going to be my next move. I really enjoyed playing it in difficult because I really felt what it would be like to be in a post-apocalyptic world with few resources and very dangerous enemies, so I recommend playing it in this way to start, I will play it again in the future in the maximum difficulty to see how It can be complicated. The fighting sequences seem incredible to me, I quote one for example the part of when Abby and Lev are escaping from the burning town of the seraphites riding on horseback and shooting the others I found it very funny and well accomplished. On the other hand, I liked the little details like Ellie's minigame playing the guitar, I found this very interesting and entertaining. Graphics:
Well in terms of graphics I can only say that I loved them, all the scenarios, the physics, the expression of the characters look incredibly good, it is an absolute visual beauty, the graphic leap from the first game to this one is notorious well 7 years do not pass in vain, and that I played it on a normal ps4, I can not imagine what this game will look like when it comes out on Ps5.

    Music:
Gustavo Santaolalla shines again in this game, the soundtrack is very good but in this game it is presented in a much more subtle way compared to the first game. On a personal level, I like the soundtrack of the first game more because I feel it more expressive and it shows more than in this one, but it does it just the same.

    ¿Is it a masterpiece?
I personally do not consider it a masterpiece, it is a game that is very well achieved, I really enjoyed playing it, I even had fun playing this more than the first installment, but in terms of plot I consider that the first is a masterpiece since it put a point and apart in the history of video games and also because the plot twist of Joel sacrificing all of humanity to save Ellie seemed incredible to me. This second part complements the first story very well, it is more entertaining but it is not as original as the first.

And with nothing more to say, I thank and congratulate Naughty Dog for creating The Last of Us Part 1 and 2 they really created an incredible and very emotional franchise, I emphasize that never in any video game had I felt so many emotions together when playing a video game and in Finally, I expect more great works from you.

Once again Naughty Dog have completely raised the bar for portraying a thought provoking well written story true to humanity while still being terrifying, challenging, gruesome, and dramatic as heck.

First, let me judge the game as a game not as...whatever..is going on (and i get it. i do. honestly)

First, the graphics are amazing. They 're probably the best on PS4, as good if not better than the likes of GoW, Spiderman, and Uncharted 4. They're incredible, not to mention.

The sound is great. So is the music. The voice acting is spot on as well, despite if you like the characters or not. They did an awesome job.

The gameplay is...fair. It's basically TLOU 1 with a few minor adjustments. I guess if it's not broken, don't fix it.

With THIS ALONE this game isn't a 0 out of 10. Have people seen a true 0/10 game? I think not. This isn't it. Stop it.

Now, lets get to the bad. The story. I don't really know what went on here, nor do I care, but I can say the story is..EH. EHHH. I didn't care for it. I won't go into details due to spoilers but lets just say some of the characters and pacing doesn't really seem like they would have from part one. It's like they forgot how certain characters would act and feel in certain situations and were changed due to plot armor to force it to go in one way. And being a major RPG fan where most of them, it's story > all..i can say i didn't enjoy the story.

Plus another note, there's a ..scene...that conflicts with Sony's censoring. It's stated there's nudity in this game but..why? Sony censors some thighs from a final fantasy game TWENTY YEARS AGO but can't censor this? Nah..just nah.

Overall, I'm giving the game 8/10. I won't judge the game JUST on story, it's unfair for ALL the work that was put in, not just a delusional "i read the greatest story of all time and cried, i wrote it" bullcrap. Between the sound artists and vocals, acting, etc, the game overall is amazing. Just this story does feel really short and it's a shame. This game could have easily been a 10/10 if certain story bits were touched just right.

Story is fulfilling in the first half, but in the second half i felt annoyed playing as a character with a story i didn't care for at first. But showing both character's perspectives remind us that there are consequences to every action, and we can really see that Joel's actions in part 1 yielded serious consequences for himself AND for Ellie. I liked Ellie's choice at the ending as it leaves the story open so we can move forward to a totally different story for part 3. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So I’ve never written a review but I figured I should considering how big of an impact this game series has had on me. I’ll preface by saying I’ve basically memorized the first one, absolutely loved it and it’s been my top favorite game for the entire seven year wait for the sequel. I felt connected to that game, and I was emotionally invested in all of the characters. Naturally when this was announced several years back I was heavily excited. But on to the actual review As I’ve literally just finished the game. SPOILERS! I’ll start with the negatives: I understand why Joel was killed in the fashion that he was, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that I liked how it happened and especially didn’t like that it happened pretty much right from the start. But if you’re going to build a game around a revenge journey, what better way to do that than to mercilessly murder a truly loved character. I wish that act would’ve waited a couple more hours in the game and I would’ve liked some more Ellie and Joel time not in flashbacks. My next negative is that I honestly felt like this game was pushed and lead on that we’d be focusing on Ellie, yet here we are spending half of the game playing as Abby and going through her story. I honestly got frustrated because I just wanted to play as Ellie and continue her story and journey. But after playing as Abby for a while, I realized what the developers were doing with this game, which is basically showing us the other side of our actions and that the actions we make, both in the past (Joel killing her father in cold blood) and present (Ellie killing her friends in the aquarium) will eventually have consequences. It’s a dark world that they live in, and everyone is just trying to get to tomorrow. Though I will admit, it was neat how they told all of the events from Ellie’s point of view, and then all of the events from Abby’s point of view. It helped show me that there’s more to this world, even though I was really only wanting Ellie’s revenge story. And lastly, Kinda wish that she didn’t let Abby live but that’s just my opinion. Now on to the positives: despite the negatives that I have with the game, which really isn’t many even though they’re quite large, I still thoroughly enjoyed the game. I enjoyed the smarter AI with the enemies both infected and non-infected. The added challenge was nice and a major improvement on the first. Also, combat and environmental movements felt a lot like Uncharted 4 to me which was odd at first but I grew to really like it eventually because working my way through this world was really enjoyable. Also, as someone who regularly plays on PC with uncapped frame rates at first I struggled but honestly even though the game is locked at 30FPS, it really didn’t seem like it too much. Graphically the game is gorgeous and I think they did a great job on it even if my PlayStation wanted to take off from the fan kicking on so high. But I think the most important positive above all of the others is that this game, even with it being different than what I expected and wanted, still made me extremely emotional and reminded me as to why I loved Ellie and Joel so much. I hate that he’s gone, but I love that he lives on through Ellie and that she’ll go on in life carrying him with her and impacting those based on how he helped raise her. In summation, I wish there were some different things in this game, but it’s still a good one nonetheless. It’s still a good story, still emotional and powerful but in a different way than the first. I give it a solid 8/10. One last note however, typically I find that a lot of games and movies fall short when they try to incorporate females or those who are gay or minorities in to lead roles because they tend to focus on the role being a strong FEMALE/GAY character instead of a STRONG female/gay character. The character is garbage and not engaging if they’re not a strong character regardless as to their sex, race etc... And contrary to the popular belief from many reviews I’ve read, I don’t necessarily agree with most of them because I think they got it right with Ellie and Abby. Both of their characters put the plot and story first, they’re both strong characters, and the fact that they’re female/gay isn’t the centerpiece of the story. Expand

All in all a solid game with some problems with continuity(character personality wise), old fashioned gameplay that is known by the first game, wich was good but barely was worked on(? Also I miss the multiplayer).
There is also a little bit of meh about the inclussion of open world. It adds and also conflicts this world.

The graphics, mechanics and gameplay in general is fantastic, but the plot fails in many moments.

The death of Joel was ridiculous, doesn't match his personality,a old survivor. **** Abby kills Joel with cruelty refinements and you try to make us accept her? Really? who gave this **** idea?
I like ending of this game was really powerfull,Ellie shows his personality, she loves Joel and Joel loves her so much. "We must be better than this" summarizes this ending.

But in the end,I felt a lot of things playing this game, a lot of good and some bad things, it moved me a lot. This is a good game, it’s not perfect like the first one, but it’s a good game.It was worth every second for me despite everything.

The political position drains much of plot, man The Last Of Us universe is so great we don't need a pamphlet,we need a The Last Of Us game!
I love this studio, I love these characters, if they are worth it by themselves they don't need militancy.

It makes you question your morals, like is it better to risk losing the ones you love by being selfish and going to find revenge or to let things from the past go and be the bigger person, and leaves you thinking long after you’ve finished. The gameplay itself on the other hand is very good. Like one of the best horror survival games gameplay wise ever made in my opinion. From a technical point of view this game is a marvel. The attention to detail is phenomenal. Second, gameplay-wise it has gotten a lot better. Ellie is extremely agile, and she can now jump, dodge and prone. It makes combat a lot easier. Enemy AI is also a lot better. Enemies work together and make personalized callouts to which you can adapt your own strategy. It's truly impressive.

And then there is the story. Well, to be quite honest, I just decided to roll with it, and for me it kinda worked. I believe it was actually a pretty decent story. It's just that I didn't quite understand Ellie's careless attitude throughout her journey. Then there's the other point of view in which we play as a new character. At first I hated this new character because of her actions early in the game, but in the end I felt sorry for her. I actually believed her and think that some of her friends didn't deserve what happened to them. Overall it has some really great moments.

If there's one major critism I have to offer, it would be the pacing. There is a lot, and I do mean a lot, of detouring going on just to prolong the game but in the end the means is the same. Ellie is almost at the hospital.... nope, she slips into the sewer. The new character is on the skybridge, nope, she falls off and now we need to fight through an infected building. These situations happen a bit too often. I think a shorter and more rounded 16-18 hour game would've been better than the 25 hours full of sidetracking. Other than that. This is a solid game and the devs should be proud. Best game ever? No, but definitely not as bad as some people claim it to be. I give it 8/10.

The real problem of the game is the end, its no sense that Ellie fight with abby without guns and for this decision she loses 2 fingers, the fight is a copy of the final boss of uncharted 4 and the lost legacy where you only have to dodge and press square. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Story Is Written Badly:
    1. Ellie, Joel & Abby: All of the flashbacks between Joel & Ellie should've been played out in the beginning of the game, as events that simply follow TLOU 1 and happen in real time. Abby's flashback with Marlene & her Dad's death should have been the nightmare she was having before she wakes up when we first meet her. This would have helped the audience understand Abby better. She also should have been made more objectively likeable. She should have shown more remorse after killing Joel and other characters in the game, she should have been more sympathetic & understanding to her friends. We should get to know Abby and play as her during the same time Joel and Ellie are still alive and we're playing as them, with the same amount of gameplay for each narrative. We could cut between the two storylines in gameplay from both Ellie and Abby's adolescence to adulthood in real time.
    2. Joel's actions in TLOU 2 are antithetical to his character and don't make sense. Tommy telling them where they were from was just dumb. To solve this, they shouldn't have said anything about where they really came from and instead, Abby could have overheard Tommy saying Joel's name while in conversation, that way she could signal to her crew or say, "that's him." This would change the way the crew is acting and add to the tension, causing Joel & Tommy to be suspicious. 3: Joel's Death Scene: The next problem is the way Abby kills Joel. This scene should occur, way later in the game, with the story being built to this moment, probably widway through the story. Abbys crew should be smaller, just Abby, Owen, Mel, & Manny, who face Joel, Tommy, Ellie & Dina, all relatively in the same scene. Having her kill him by beating him to death after he saves her life does not help her case. There should have been a lot more hesitation from her to kill him (personally, I feel like he should have died protecting Ellie). In my mind, Joel should have blurted out, "I just saved your life", which would make her hesitate with the golf club in the air, Ellie pops in and shoots Abby in her hand, dropping the club. Abby pulls her gun out about to shoot Ellie when Joel manages to get in the way of her shot, saving Ellie, but now dieing. Abby is shook by her actions as she sees Ellie crying over Joel's body, holding him the exact same way that Joel held his dieing daughter Sarah in the first game. Abby, still in shock, books it with her crew before Dina catches up, finding Ellie with Joel in her arms. In this version, Ellie and Joel get to share some last words and Ellie will feel the life slowly slip away from Joel, but there will be enough life left for him to sing a little of the song Future Days while Ellie sings along. With a soft smile, Joel slips away. He just gave his life for her, and its in this moment she fully realizes why he saved her life all those years ago!
    4. New, somewhat established characters are killed off too quickly. For example Jesse is never mentioned again after he dies abruptly. Its like he never existed in the story to begin with. Instead, when Abby shoots him, it should be somewhere not immediately lethal, and Ellie should acknowledge this by kneeling down and trying to stop the bleeding, Jesse is suffering meanwhile. Abby angrilly tells her to get up, Ellie says, "hes gonna die, we need to get him help." Abby says, voice choking in emotion, "where was the help when you shot my friends dead, huh?" getting closer to Ellie. "Mel was pregnant!" Now the gun is near Ellie's head. Jesse bleeds out, not able to speak and is now dead. Ellie closes his eyes, shaken by what's just happen and slowly stands up. She says to Abby, solemnly, "Listen, I know why you killed Joel, I get it. But this needs to end, now. No more blood shed." Abby can reply, "You should have thought of that when I gave you two the chance to live, but instead you waisted it by coming back. And now, two more people I love very much, are dead," she starts to cry. The events that come after that can play out in a similar way they do in the game.
    5. Abby's Look makes no sense: Her head did not match her manbody. She has a feminine face and a very masculine, male body. She looks more realistic at the very end of the game than anywhere else. She has a built body, but more naturally framed to what a built woman would look like, and she has a haircut that fits her better than the braid. She should have looked like this the entire game, it was sorta badass. Her character look needed to fit who she was, which was a straight woman. Her sex scene should have shown this somehow, there sould have been more "love" in this love scene. Instead, because of her body, it is off putting.
6.The trailers should have been more honest. People should have not been decieved, thinking that cetain scenes in the trailers will happen in the game, but instead they happen as flashbacks when he is younger, or with other characters.

Joel's death is justified, Abby is a great character and the story, while it lacks consistency at some points, is extremely solid. Many people are angry about the end but what I can say about it is that it makes sense for Ellie and the narrative as a whole. If you didn't saw that, you should be analyzing more what is happening.

Naughty Dog did it again and even if I was doubting them at some point because of the rocky path towards release, I'd still spend those $60 on this game. Worth every penny.

Not to mention some of them are just plain homophobic. Gameplay is solid with some of the most enthralling sequences in recent memory. Yes, the game does make a questionable decision in terms of story structure, with about 8-10 hours from the perspective of Abby, the main antagonist. It seems like the game wants you to care for her, but I never really did and found myself just wanted to play as Ellie again. The story does become a bit predictable at times, and it's understandable the frustration players who have strong feelings for the characters in the first game may experience with some of the twists and turns of this sequel - but at the end of the day it's a tragic tale of two cities in which both sides are too caught up in their emotions to realize the harm they're causing.

Only real detractors for me were that the new infected don't provide any meaningful diversity in gameplay. And as far as the story goes I was left at a few times wishing I could make a decision for myself rather than the mashing in a scripted fight I'm forced to perform.

However I believe most of the bad is counter balanced by the good. In the sequel theyve fixed many grievances making the gameplay and combat feel smoother and less clunky in comparison to its predecessor with a new range of weapons and items to make combat scenarios feel fresh. The story doesnt live up to the expectations the original but i dont think its as bad as people are making it out to be. I believed the final boss and gameplay segment before it was drawn out and un necessary. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. In this review, I won't be talking anything but the story. I think the story has two main problems. The first one is the way that they killed Joel, and the second is the way that they force us to play as Abby. Firstly, I want to talk about the first problem. I think a main character that is beloved from every player shouldn't be killed like that. The progression in his character from first game has just thrown into the garbage. I would accept that death scene if he was more cautious as before the scene could be written differently. But if you still wanna go with this, at least you should show us how his character has changed over the years. Like more flashbacks that shows Joel is changing, becoming less cautious and vulnerable because of his relationship with Ellie.
I think the second problem is bigger. After nearly 10 hours of gameplay, the only feeling that I have was to finding and killing Abby. I think most players felt that. However, after 10 hours of game play, writers decided us to play as Abby! For nearly 8 hours. That's just unacceptable. If you want us to love this new character, which killed our beloved Joel and we spend 10 hours hating her, and bond with her this is not the way. I think if the chronological order of the story has changed this problem would be overcome. Like before Abby kills Joel we could have hear her story, and "maybe" sympathize with her. Or at least, in my personal opinion at the scene where Ellie and Abby standoffs at the theatre, we should definitely play as Ellie. I HATE THAT PART. I killed Abby thousand of times in that part because I have no sympathy or love for her. She is just a new character that killed my favorite character. When we pin Ellie down to the ground and forced to hit her, I quit the game and try to keep calm.
However, I would say that they made some parts of the story well. The flashbacks were amazing. We see the bonding between Ellie and Joel. The birthday flashback scene made me cry. Actually lot of scenes apart from Abby made me cry. I have waited 7 years to hear about what will happen to Ellie and Joel. I was expecting Joel to die but, what will happen to Ellie afterward was a thing I didn't know.
I think if we neglect Abby's part from the story and look it on the side of just Ellie the story is sublime. The emotions that the story put me through was hard. And the ending scene, oh the ending scene got me so hard. I'm crying for two days now. The scene where Ellie tries to play guitar after her fingers are chopped is... Hard.
Anyway, as you can read in this review I'm mad at the game but I cannot be angry and hate it. I've waited 7 years for this and the story of Ellie just hit me.

Ps: They will probably continue with the story of Abby and Lev in the 3rd game. I think the Abby parts from the game should come as an DLC maybe? I don't know. Thanks for reading. And I hope someone feels the way I do.

But he was made to glory: to look at all this was a real pleasure. This game was worked out to the smallest detail, you were interested to look at it. Break every glass, pass through each blade of grass. Reading notes and breaking bottles, it was great. Now about the characters. The good-natured, pretty girl Ellie turned into a real **** The beloved character of many players was killed, and the players themselves were forced to go through the story from Abby, who I hated personally. It would be my will and I gave absolutely every cardboard for a dead loved one, such a charismatic and just a good character, Joel. Expand

Definitely it has different narrative, the first "Tragedy-Drama" game that I've encountered. It challenges the player's stance and moral regarding Hate and Guilt. Could have been better if players have the power to choose how the game ends. Well I guess it is what it is.

Performance and technical wise the game is at the top. I have no complaints with these aspects whatsoever. Naughty Dog obviously gambled with this game. I wish they've found all the praise and criticism helpful for their next project.

    Story-7/10
This story is not trash at all. I understand what ND was going for. The idea is absolutely brilliant. It is just the execution of that story that is a little bad. It would have been better if Abby was developed as a likeable charecter early on in the game. And instead of Joel saving Abby...Abby should have saved Joel... Then it would have made sense why he let his guards down... otherwise it is a masterpiece

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. People are giving TLOU2 hate just because Joel died and they claim that he was the hero of the last game. Joel is a terrible person and more than deserved what was coming to him. The only problem I had with TLOU2 was that the pacing was really off along with abby's story, you give medicine to this girl but it doesn't matter because she just gets killed anyway. It just wastes your time. The story is also very contrived, things just happen and people just show up randomly throughout the story. Expand

Indeed, the game offers almost none new gameplay mechanics. AI is tweaked, some new enemy types (not much), some non-linear maps and that is it.
The experience here is 100% same as in the first part. The plot has some weak points too - predictable moves, stupid actions of the characters. It is still a very solid game, worth playing. But I understand why people hate it so much.

Truly a great game, while the story can seem a little weird, I always felt drawn to the beautiful, horrific world of the last of us part 2.

The world is one of the most beautiful that I have ever seen in a videogame, every location just awe inspiring, and everything about this game just works so well.

The guns feel truly amazing to wield, and it’s nice to receive different variations throughout the story.

I cannot stress enough, don’t read a review and have that dictate how good the game is, you have to try it for yourself. It’s such a good game, and I’d definitely recommend it :)

Is it as good as the first one? In terms of story, no. But that is a near-impossible bar. But the gameplay is absolutely heart-racing. It takes what was great about the gameplay of the first game and ramps it up on every level. And even though the story wasn't perfect, I found myself completely invested - especially by the end.

I have only played it through once, but I feel like now

The gameplay gets kind of predictable and boring in the middle, but the story plays out strongly throughout, and it definitely hits the right notes at the end. Different to the first game, but no less subversive. There are some genuinely innovative set pieces, and the graphics are beautifully rendered and vivid. A great deal of time and effort has gone into making it a compelling environment, though it is far from a typical open world and does tend to steer you clearly towards each checkpoint. Expand

This game was not meant to be a speed run, race to the finish type game, and I think the people who managed to finish it in the first day or two did not get to truly experience the story in the way it was meant to. Granted, TLOU2 had a lot to live up to after having such a brilliant predecessor, and definitely some story points felt lacklustre, but overall is a solid sequel. And to those saying the game is just trying to push an agenda - surprise! there is gay people in real life, and her sexuality is not shoved down your throat and I applaud naughty dogs representation. The game isn't perfect, and has some items that could've been better (no issues with a gay main character, but it was over done a bit). Overall though it was a really good game, with an engaging story and beautiful graphics. I wish the game had ended with one or the other dying, as it would have felt more inline with the entire message. (revenge is a cycle that never ends?). But the majority of reviews I see here that are negative are some form of "Joel died, thats stupid", and "I hate Abby cause she killed Joel". Joel killed Abby's Dad. Her 4 year story ark was literally Ellie's, but further along. People mad that she wasnt upset by her murder of Joel? Why would she be? She got revenge on the man who killed her Dad? I clearly saw the game as it was intended, which is, from both sides of the coin. And in doing so, I really enjoyed playing the vast majority of it. Good game, strong story, ending lacked a bit. Although it subverted expectations in a way I don’t fully agree with, it delivers another satisfying installation to The Last of Us story.

A clever take on morality told through a non conventional story structure. It makes you question your actions all the way to the end.

An emotional story filled with brutal moments, heartfelt and well developed characters that hooked me up since the start! Worthy successor of the first game! The game mechanics are very enjoyable and fun, you either go stealthy or guns blazing or both! The game didn't slow down for me too much! Is it a 10/10 I don't think so! That's why I'm giving it a 8/10.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
