    This game is absolutely amazing. If you are looking for a brilliant story with stunning visuals and pretty decent combat this is the game to play.

    This game is a master class in everything it sets out to achieve: story, character, visual fidelity, visceral gameplay, and more importantly the consistent reminder that the "soul" of a game can become much more than the sum of it's parts.

    The ending is the most disappointing part of the game which is riddled with disappointments.

    The graphics are beyond good, this is what next gen should look like.
    The gameplay is nothing special, just like the first game, you backstab a bunch of people then shoot the few that are left. The story is full of plotholes , Joel trusting a group of armed people he just met giving them his name and following them into the basement of a house located near their settlement, not only does it contradict the characters personality (the untrusting joel) but even the world building , because throughout the game you see that ALL TRESSPASSERS are killed on sight which is logical in an apocalyptic world but Joel saves a tresspasser for no reason gives her his name knowing his head is wanted for the fireflies incident then follows them into a basement x). The ending is way worse (ENDING SPOILER WARNING)

    , as Ellie decides that her vengeance is worth leaving everything behind and killing abby , but then when she finds abby she let's her go (until now I kinda understand) but then she threatens to kill abby's friend unless she fights her to the death and when she wins the deathmatch she decides to just let her go ?!? This sounds like a kid's story but it's the real ending we got. How many times can you change your mind about something so big in 2min , she had MONTHS to forget about the vendetta and still decided to leave Tommy her wife AND KID to kill her, only to backpedal at the end so you can make another sequel ? And then she understands that vengeance is meaningless ? How do you understand that vengeance is meaningless when you didn't even get your vengeance ?

    Oh and they also find the time to show you a trans coming out story turn bad because his mom is part of a cult that doesn't accept trans rights. In an apocalyptic world, **** trans rights in the zombie apocalypse. And don't get me started on the media treatment of this game, having an uncensored sex scene is fine because she's trans but you censure Devil May Cry 5 because it's too explicit ? xD    … Expand

    Very much enjoyed, this game shows that revenge is a never ending cycle. When revenge is achieved by you, the person who was hurt for you to feel better now wants that same vengeance at your expense.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Ok I'm going to do this right. I played the game in its entirety so I experienced and felt every moment, and I can say I'm so disappointed, this story is ruining my days.
    First of all, almost every character is so inconsistent:
    - Joel and Tommy look like the most stupid human beings left on Earth, the exact opposite we learnt from TLOU1. telling some bad strangers their real name and their location is so stupid that even a normal person would avoid.
    - Tommy at first seems that he doesn't even want to seek vengeance because Jackson needs protection and doesn't want to lose anyone else…. but later on the game, more precisely at The Farm chapter, he thows **** against Ellie just because she momentanely says she has abandoned her mission of Revenge. WTF? Tommy cares about Ellie a lot and knows how much Joel cared about her…. he would never act like that.
    - The end…. Ellie loses EVERYTHING and Abby nothing…. and it's impossibile not to be disappointed. Thart character is so horrible and also they are trying to replace Joel and Ellie with Abby and Lev. Such a great potential incredibly ruined….    … Expand

The Game ends with ellie sitting in the water on the beach in Santa Barbra, she let's Abby Go. So When Joel Dies, I'll explain why right now this had to happen in the story because one of the last conversations that joel had with ellie. Ellie said "I was supposed to die in that hospital" then Elie says "My Life would have **** mattered" joel replies with if the lord gave me another chance at that I wouldn't change a thing" and ellie responds with I know then she says "I dont know how long it will take but I would like to try to forgive you for it" The Game Is Ultimately About Forgiveness and how to forgive your loved ones it's not about revenge that's what they make you think with the marketing which is extremely smart IMO AGAIN THIS IS MY OPINION… Expand

    Absolutely incredible game that exceeded the hype and surpassed all of my expectations. Breathtaking gameplay and mechanics that feel eerily life-like. The character arcs were so complex and interwoven that I wonder how they were able to bring it all together so flawlessly. As a filmmaker, the gorgeous lighting and overall aesthetic really sealed the deal for me. True masterpiece.

    The Last Of Us Part II it's more than just a game. Naughty Dog, thank you for the sequel one of the most likely games in my life.
    When I've finished part one I thought: oh, It's so confused. Joel made a too hard choice, but was it a good choice or not? Maybe the Fireflies could make a vaccine and save a lot of people. Yes, in this case, they are a must to kill Ellie. Yes, we love this girl a lot. But it's just one life that can give hope to people be saved.
    Unfortunately, we rarely think about the opposite side. We think: oh, they are bad guys. But are they? Not always.
    Thank, Naughty Dog: you attempted to give people to see another side. And I think it was a great decision.
    P.S. The LGBT line of the story mustn't be something unexpected for the followers of the game. It's a great game!    … Expand

I finally finished completing this stupid, depressing and disappointing of a game and I regret pre ordering this game and buying it even on deluxe edition, the storyline is just garbage, your favorite character in this game dies by the same person you spend most of the time playing as her, Abby, I hated every second playing as that annoying character, the game tries so hard to have some sort of sympathy for her for killing Joel by letting us play as her for 12 hour+ or something, if I knew that I would be wasting a lot of my time playing as her I wouldn’t have bought the game. Also you can’t avenge his death even after all Ellie’s been through. Hell, the ending itself is even more disappointing than the whole plot. I rate this game 2/10 just because of the flashback moments during the playthrough.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last Of Us Part 2 was created to increase the deepness of this entire zombie world, adding some interesting points of view of what is like to become the villain of your own story.
    The gameplay doesn't take any risk on making anything new, but it has the same mechanics and functionality of its predecessor. The only flaw that I was able to find were some minor bugs, witch could be easily fixed.
    Something that separates this game from anyone of its genre, it's the way it shows dead on NPC's. It's suffering feels real and you won't be feeling comfortable killing others on this game.
    It's story, the main focus of this game is amazing. Naughty Dog took a risky path by choosing a story that would make angry to any fan, but further than staying on a classic heroe theme, it goes further and deeper. Joel's dead at the very beginning of the game states the tone of the rest of the gameplay, and gives Ellie a strong reason to seek revenge, but after some events on the main story Ellie finds out that love it's the most important thing, reflected on her finally forgiving Joel for not letting her die on the first game.
    Although most fans didn't like the game on a first place, I'm sure that time will do justice on what was achieved on this game, and most players will some time be deeply in love with Ellie's and Abby's story. A must play for anyone that owns a PS4.    … Expand

    First off realise that PO'd fanboys are posting the same 0-3 reviews multiple times when it's clear that some of them haven't even played the game or don't know what actually happens. Also it's a game and even if you don't like the story the gameplay is amazing. TLOUP2 is an immensly dense game both in gameplay and story. The story is much more grand in scale comparitively to the firstFirst off realise that PO'd fanboys are posting the same 0-3 reviews multiple times when it's clear that some of them haven't even played the game or don't know what actually happens. Also it's a game and even if you don't like the story the gameplay is amazing. TLOUP2 is an immensly dense game both in gameplay and story. The story is much more grand in scale comparitively to the first game which told a relatively simple story. This story examines the importance of those choices made in the first game and further examines the impact of a post apocalyptic world where murder and brutality is needed in order to survive. Here the story not only focuses on 2 individuals but looks at how these choices and circumstances effect everyone around our main characters. It's by far the most ambitious and satisfying game I've ever played. Now, some people obviously don't like the game and from what I've noticed is that people don't like it for one of two reasons: A. They feel the game Is pushing some sort of political agenda on them that they don't agree with. B. They're expectations of what the story should be do not match what the story actually is. Realize that this story does include LGBTQ characters, if you don't like that then this game probably isn't for you. I don't feel as though they were pushing an agenda these characters are there and they exist but there's not some grand message as far as they're orientations are concerned. They just are. Also Ellie liked girls in the first game so that shouldn't be a surprise re: Left Behind. Accept that what you want for the characters, and choices that you want to make are not what's going to happen because you are not them and they are not you. Drop all expectations of what the story will be and just let it happen and take in what it has to offer. These characters are not the same as the first game. 4 years have passed. They've changed, they've grown and they're going through something new. I loved this game. Is it the story I would've told? Probably not, but the story I would've told probably would've been boring and predictable. I appreciate that everytime I thought I knew what was going to happen next I was wrong. The characters made some choices I liked and they made some I didn't like but we're different people and we've been through different **** and we feel different things. Lastly it's just a game lol. Some people are acting as if their life is over.… Expand

    The Last of Us is my all time favorite game. The sequel ruins everything I loved about the original. I have no interest playing as the character that kills off the main characters of the original game. I destroyed my copy after completing the game. Worst money ever spent.

Lo que me da muchísima risa es que los críticos como ign dicen que es fantástico pues ellos de seguro solo vieron el trailer y dijeron o genial pero el juego no lo es, diré espoilers así que deja de leer o de igual manera no gastes tu dinero, la historia tiene incongruencias como la escena del principio donde le confeso joel a su hermano no sirve de nada pues ellie lo descubrió por ella misma, cuando ellie y abby se enfrentan ellie falla todos los disparos a corta distancia mientras forcejean con tomy, nos ponen muy mal la historia dejándonos en suspenso durante mucho tiempo y con odio a abby haciendo que sea indisfrutable el juego durante todo el rato que jugamos con abby y al final ponen una escena donde ellie tubo uno charla con joel en la cabaña de lo cual es muy raro el comportamiento de ellie en toda la historia pues dejo vivir a abby ya que ella le hiso daño y ellie confirma que le tiene cariño a joel sin importar si sea malo pero la deja vivir lo cual no tiene sentido que te maten a alguien querido y tengas pesadillas, no quedo como lo hicieron en assasins creed cuando al final lo dejo vivir pues nada de eso cambiara y en este juego el final es malo en mi punto de vista… Expand

En la mayoría de sus ámbitos; tanto el gameplay, gráficos, personajes, detalles, esenarios completamente amplios para explorar. Pero aun así en lo personal creo que carece un poco en la historia principal pues tiende ser una trama un tanto forzada y a su vez dolorosa para los personajes con los que más te encariñas en la franquicia, que bien pudieron tener una mejor despedida. Pero bueno, esa era la historia que los desarrolladores tenían pensado para ofrecernos.
    Quizá no sea la historia que unos esperábamos, pero no deja ser los que fue el primero Juego, una serie de experiencias y jugabilidad única para los gamers! Podría destacar que, en lo personal, lo que más me fascinó es la manera que esta tan bien logrado el diseño de personajes y las nuevas mecánicas aportadas al gameplay.
    No tengo más que decir que es un honor haber jugado este título que realmente es una experiencia que todo buen jugador debe probar.

However, I applaud Naughty Dog for doing this. The story has been a massive surprise for me as I strictly avoided any leaks or spoilers before playing the game.

    I actually love how dark and bleak the world and the story line are. People really need to appreciate that the game is set is a post-apocalyptic world full of infected/fungus-zombies, which has continued to spiral into chaos since the infection began. Desperate human beings are committing horrendous acts in this desperate fight for survival. I played this game knowing full well that this is the context. I didn't play this game so it can make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I still support, empathize and care about Ellie and feel that given what has happened, everything she has done has been justified. I also feel that trying make the game overly positive or reducing the level of violence would just feel like a shame and would almost insult how horrific the world these characters are living in really is. The violence and the darkness make it all feel that much more real. Having said that, there are indeed many beautiful moments where life still has value, human decency can shine and the love the characters have for one another is clear.

    The story itself is very entertaining, dynamic, and unpredictable. I feel that Ellie is still the same old Ellie and the acting and character development is just as good as the first game.

    I am been so invested and on the edge of my seat since the first minute I started playing. I am just as attached to the characters in this game as I was while playing the Last of Us. I feel their pain and desperation. I feel so vulnerable while playing and every kill of both human and infected feels significant and like a real accomplishment contributing to my fight for survival.

    The game play is incredible, they have taken the Last of Us and pushed the PS4 to the limit. It is more challenging than the first game and the AI seem more lifelike and are more difficult. The fighting feels so real and intense and takes strategy and careful planning. I can't over emphasize the satisfaction that comes from setting up an explosive to have someone trigger it while you watch their limbs been blow off as they scream, or blasting off the leg of an infected person with a shotgun and watching them drag themselves around on their arms. Its full on and so much fun.

    The world is also incredibly beautiful, deep, and immersive. There are so many little hidden places and challenges throughout the game which you could easily overlook, and it just makes it feel that much more like your own special story. Combat scenes can take place over entire avenues, involving multiple buildings which you can be running in and out of. Combat can also involve the interaction of both human and infected AI which can end up killing one another while you remain hidden (if you help to instigate their combat). The graphics and attention to detail is incredible from start to finish. Wait until you smash open a vending machine or display cabinet while searching for supplies.

    From what I can see however, every person who hates this game has an issue with the story and not with the world, graphics, game play ect. I can’t give my complete opinion of the game until I finish it, but currently, this is the most I have ever enjoyed a video game and that is saying a lot. I think the critical praise of this game is spot on. I feel that most people are upset because they are so attached to the first game and its characters and just want an obvious continuation with the same vibe. Had the first game never existed, none of these people would be complaining. I also think that anyone who can't handle two girls kissing in this game needs to go and get F#*K*D.    … Expand

    I'm not really sure why there are so many bad reviews for this game already. I'm about 20% done with the game so far and ,without spoiling anything, I've loved the game so far. The story is more fleshed out then it was in the first game. And thanks to all of the spoilers people posted in the reviews on this site without clicking the contains spoilers box, literally 5 minutes and 30 secondsI'm not really sure why there are so many bad reviews for this game already. I'm about 20% done with the game so far and ,without spoiling anything, I've loved the game so far. The story is more fleshed out then it was in the first game. The gameplay is just like the first and gave me a Metal Gear vibe with all of the stealth. Game will clock you about 35 hours to complete too, only issue is you think its going to end at points but keeps going, which really isn’t an issue. The cast and crew from ND nailed it again. The negative reviews show how much people can be swayed and become sheep to an opinion of an out if context spoiler when the game is just incredible. A lot of tear jerkers and anxiety driven moments will keep to hooked until the end.… Expand

Para mí el juego es muy bueno, si bien las primeras horas te pueden parecer un poco pesadas, cada que te vas adentrando a la historia empiezas a percibir ese deseo que tiene Ellie de venganza sin importar las repercusiones que esta cause, otra cosa que me gusto es ver la parte de Abby, pues considero que era necesario para darle más sentimiento a la parte final del juego.
    otro punto a favor es el rival final de Abby, me pareció algo sublime tener a Elie como boss, quedé sorprendido.
    Y aunque el juego en general me apreció perfecto, esa última hora me parecía un poco excesiva, que estaba un poco de más, pero al ver el final creo que esta justificada.

Excelente banda Sonora, gameplay perfecto y refinado, una narrativa cinematográfica que pondría a kojima a tener orgasmos y gráficos que exprimen todo el potencial de la consola. Combina perfectamente el gameplay con el storytelling, toma decisiones arriesgadas que hacen que el juego valga aún más la pena. Desearía que algún día dejara de ser exclusivo de sony, así más gente podría disfrutar de esta obra y así dejar de hablar desde la ignorancia. Dicen que es un juego progresista por incluir personajes transexuales y homosexuales lo cual, según ellos "no tiene nada que ver con tlou ni con el contexto de la historia", pues la verdad los homosexuales y trans han existido siempre, que este más normalizado ahora su inclusión no es "propaganda política" ni "sjw" o "publicidad de izquierda", no es un juego que fuerza la inclusión para nada, no se siente forzado en ningún momento, estas opiniones son de gente que simplemente no puede ocultar su homofobia. El físico de Abby es otro tema que a dado mucho de hablar, dicen que "Como alguien podría tener ese físico en el estado que esta mundo del juego" lo cual ni siquiera requiere que explique lo ridículo del argumento, también dicen que "la escena de sexo de abby es lo más repugnante y asqueroso que he visto y es totalmente innecesaria", lo cual es irónico ya que no es la única escena subida de tono del juego, solo por la apariencia de abby que no es la típica modelo de porno les molesta lo cual es igual de RIDÍCULO, también les molesta la historia ya que muere el protagonista principal del primer juego de forma "violenta y gráficamente innecesaria", cuando todos en los dos juegos mueren de forma gráfica y choqueante, que "joel no habría confiado en cualquier persona", eso demuestra que tampoco están tomando el contexto de lo sucedido, también, alegan que no les gustó el final porque no muere abby por matar a joel, Cosas así y muchas otras me hacen pensar que las críticas de usuarios son más que nada de homofobos encubiertos, gente que le arde que el personaje que les gusta muera y el que no les gusta no muera(Lo cual es altamente ridículo) y sin contar las críticas de los que nisiquiera han jugado el juego o los que ven todo como algo político (lo que llega a dar un cringe de manera desmesurada), en fin, de lo mejor que a salido en años, por lo mismo tanto odio hacia el juego, al revisar los perfiles de las calificaciones bajo 5 notarán que son en su mayoría fanboys de alguna otra consola o solo gente que sigue a la masa de haters para sentirse incluido. El problema es la ejecución de una historia buena, las mecánicas del juego sobre el personaje principal para controlar durante el gameplay y los mensajes políticamente correctos. En la mecánica no te avisan de qué va el juego exactamente en ningún momento (si es un juego de sobrevivencia, venganza, novela lésbica, creo que los zombies estaban de más en un juego que se supone se centra en zombies). El final debió ser igual de sádico a como empezó el juego.     Repetitive boring politically biased story. The trailers are legit lies with model swaps of Joel and they also bait you to think he’s in the game. The games bugs aren’t ironed out. And to finish it off the devs and some voice actors are just nasty people.

Nauhty Dog did make the rope physics fun so that's why I gave it a one.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I just finished this intense journey and can I say, it was wonderful. Hear me out.

    1) Joel dying was a SHOCK, now, I personally was not too attached to him. His choice at the end of The Last of Us Part 1 made me think. He damned an entire world, off of his own selfishness to keep Ellie alive. She wanted to be there, she wanted to make a cure. His choice was to curse the world with a plague, continuing the evolution of post-apocalypse life. To me, I thought what would the world continue to develop as? And that’s what we got in Part: 2. A continually developed, post-apocalyptic world. We know what the zombies are, what they do. We know there is no stopping them now, it’s accepted. We still know that humans are the apex, at the end of the day, and must develop as people in this new world.

    2) The LGBT stuff: HOW MANY GAMES, HOW MANY, have a STRAIGHT muscley man, and hot curvy woman at the forefront? HOW MANY?
    Almost all of them. To me, it was REFRESHING, to see some character development that wasn’t a cookie cutter man, and a cookie cutter woman, trying to love each other with the inconvenience of zombies in the way. And it was beautifully done. The complexity of the characters, Dina being pregnant with Jesse’s child, the strong woman Abby is because of the loss of her father and Owen’s typical charm with his love triangle and Abby not having it. Abby showing her rough outer self, with her soft maternal need to take care of Lev. It’s a story about a generation of young adults, making their way in a world where acceptance is survival. It’s really brilliant, if you think about it.

    3) Lack of character development? I feel like if you stopped clutching your pearls, for lack of cookie cutter protagonists and antagonists, you’d actually find there to be a lot. Abby grows incredibly by the end of the game. First appearing as a stone cold powerhouse, killing Joel, to becoming a maternal figure to Lev and his sister (who regrettably died way too fast after I spent ALL THAT TIME IN THE HOSPITAL.) As well as we see Ellie on a roller coaster. As well she should be. She was lied to about her encounter with the Fireflies, it was already shown she was a lesbian in the last game only for her to be confronted by that guy that all these people reviewing sound like. She wants revenge for Abby killing Joel, but at what cost? Dina getting killed, Jesse never being able to see his son? Going all the way back out to get the final blow, to find out Abby is bit, and she’s hung up to die. Still wanting revenge she tries, but at what cost, again? Losing her fingers, so the one thing she could keep from Joel, music, is gone. When Abby was as good as dead anyway. Bravo.

    4) Abby’s character design? I mean **** it, you might as well say every girl has to have big boobs an ass and curves to be taken seriously. Her difference in design as a character is what made her stand out. Even her sex scene, I mean albeit real INTENSE, showed even more of how her strength was beauty.

    5) Lev’s character, I don’t wanna hear any one of you talk about MULAN in a good way if you had a problem with Lev, in any way in this game. That’s all I gotta say about that.

    6) LGBT stuff: I find it interesting that a lot of people are complaining about the LGBT stuff, and then say they have no problem with people being gay. But wish that this game didn’t have it in there. As if there’s hundreds of games with LGBT stuff in it. When would you find it appropriate? Should the gays wait for an OP called “Sparkle Zombies?” Is it cool as long as you don’t have to look at it? Get over yourselves, homophobes.

    7) Lastly, if you had a problem with the game I think you should just stick to zombies in Call of Duty. Maybe Left 4 Dead. Because you’re looking for a cookie cutter zombie shooter, and not a game that’s willing to set itself apart from the rest. That’s what The Last of Us: Part 1, did. It made you think, it made you question what is right and wrong by the end. The same goes for this game, and they did it beautifully.

Still from all the characters I saw in the second part, I thought Tommy and Joel were the most appealing and interesting ones, so I was kind of disappointed when we didn't get to play with them, but ok.

    The other characters were ok, though and the story isn't entirely bad in my opinion. It makes a statement without anyone actually putting it into words. BUT I don't wanna play games like that. There's enough misery going on in the world, I don't need it to provoke thought in my free time, the time I need to get my mind off things. I watch the news every day, I am aware of the effects of revenge, escalations etc etc. I don't need to be lectured about that in a game. Doesn't mean there can't be any intelligent statements, no morals at all. But this game is like solely about that. It is depressing in many, many situations.
    Then there are some plot holes and illogical premisses...I don't wanna spoil, in case someone doesn't know the game yet, but you'll probably notice them yourself. In the end you might find yourself feeling like....wtf, it was all for nothing! At least that's how I felt... frustrated and downright sad and like I needed to lick my wounds. Throughout the games there were some uplifting moments, but they were very sparse and in no way adequate to make up for the rest.

    I forced myself to finish the game, though because I wanted to see everything before I judge it. I really had a hard time. The gameplay is mediocre and not appropriate for a game in 2020.
    The graphics are mostly very nice and there are beautiful landscapes. There was also a lot of weird glitching (horses, dogs, fighting scenes) and the 30 fps were a strain on my eyes. Sometimes had to stop playing because it gave me a headache.

    My verdict: The few good points don't make up for the rest. I feel like I should have watched the game on stream instead of buying it. In fact I regret spending that money. Next time naughty dogs releases a game I'll be sure to check it on stream or youtube first.    … Expand

    After waiting years for the sequel, this was such a disappointment of a game...

    What ruined the whole game was the story...

    Something that everyone of the first game loved and appreciated...

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
