    If they wanted to destroy the characters from the first game and give us a story devoid of anything that makes you feel good; then they should have made a different game. Don't call it the last of us 2, because it's the worst sequel I've ever played.

    It makes you feel dead! Don't play this game if you want to enjoy a story.

    How disappointing. All I want is a game designed to be enjoyable with characters i can relate to. But of course their top priority was to push whackjob social justice politics from beginning to end. Sick of it. Disgusted.

    Naughty Dog’s worst game by far it is nothing new from them, you constantly WALK and engage in ridiculous small talk, I feel like after Uncharted 4 and now Last of Us Part 2 Naughty Dog are just dependent on graphics than gameplay and storytelling, Uncharted 3 is their last great game so far.     I don't know why naughty dog did this but they completely ruined the game. I can understand and also agree with the support they want to give to the LGBT community but they ruined the story while doing this and that's unacceptable. If you're expecting a masterpiece narrative such as the first game you probably gona be very disappointed. This game doesn't deserve a better score, that's for sure.

    Fantastic production values make this a beautiful looking game, maybe one of the best this Gen. I loved the first game and was super excited to play this. I tried to avoid spoilers and thought I would give it a fair shot. This is a story based game so the story is important. I went in with an open mind but couldn't quite gel with the new characters despite the game's best efforts. There is no doubt the game plays well but the story IMO was a major let down and prevents this game from matching calibre of the first one. I was left feeling let down by the end, and the game seemed to drag on for far too long.
    If it had finished sooner I feel it would of served the game better.
    ND seemed to be going for shock value over substance which is a real shame.
    The flashbacks just reminded of how much I loved the bond of the characters from the first game.
    I feel this game was a grand missed opportunity and not worth the 7 year wait. I wished they had left it as a stand alone game and not made a sequel.    … Expand

    No me gusta la versión utilizada en este juego del doctor octopus, yo me habría basado en la de alfred molina, además, el personaje está demasiado caricaturizado y a estas alturas el personaje tiene algo más de profundidad por lo menos en los comics, así que sugeriría un cambio de rumbo en lo que respecta al villano por parte de Insmoniac.

Well for sure not everyone will like this game..i don't hate it but im content with how it ended..there is a deep meaning of why it ended that way why ellie had to let abby go if you will focus on that last exchange of words of ellie and joel..where she said she think she can never ever forgive joel for what he did..but she could try..that part right there and maybe she realized that abby had spared her for 2 times now at the joel scene and at the theater. She knows abby is a good person and ellie killing a pregnant person is what really strikes her as abby spared her girl who is pregnant. And if ND never showed abby's part of the story this ending will be much worse or this gane will be much worse it will not justify joel's death..im not saying joel deserved it..but he had it coming since the end of tlou1..im glad we got to play as abby..it shows that part where ND always says there is no good guy or bad guy in this game..and that is the truth in life too. It is our own belief that makes us believe about tye good guy and bad guy oart..and that part is wrong.im content with how this gane ended hope for a sequel though.     Game isn’t what you’d expect, they managed to mess up a good storyline, there are so much holes in this story, I’m starting to think they didn’t care for it as much. Joel dies LITERALLY 30 minutes into the game or less. I can’t believe what I just played this is not acceptable, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. Do yourself a favor.     Naughty dog does not understand the concept of revenge. The graphics are good and the gameplay has been improved since the first, the game is brutal and visceral. But the story suffers from a lack of writing, especially the new character in the game. The way her is introduced in the game, hinders any chance of the player sympathizing with his goal

    An incredibly worthy sequel to one of the best games ever. Try avoiding spoilers, they hold absolutely no value without the context of the game. Going in cold is very rewarding. The sound design, acting, graphics and animations are best in class and represent a great way to cap of the PS4 generation. A must-have game, especially if you liked the first one.

Writing is all over the place, and representation felt forced honestly. While it's good to have groups be represented this game did it too far in a way that it didn't feel right if that makes sense. The post-apocalyptic feeling of the zombie game that was Part 1 is there, but the zombie stuff isn't a major topic like it originally was instead we got a revenge plot that only happens cause the writers threw out Joel's whole character so he could get killed by a Fridge with muscles with a golf club, and Ellie's promise to "kill" the Fridge gets thrown away cause she feels sorry for the Fridge saved 60 bucks thank you xQc.… Expand

I enjoyed the open-ended conclusion of the first game and the moral dilemma it created, so I honestly thought that a sequel wasn't necessary. However, my excitement to continue Joel and Ellie's story was evident and I couldn't wait for the sequel to come out. Now here I am, having experienced most of the game, and I can say for certainty that Naughty Dog messed up BIG TIME. The Last of Us' gameplay is the same as the last game, if not a little improved, the graphics are beautiful and the tone of the game is worthy of its setting. HOWEVER, The Last of Us is and has always been a game centered around its story, and boy is the story and its characters the worst part of the game. The characters that we came to love in the original game, the characters whose story was supposed to be expanded upon in this sequel are disrespected in the worst possible way imaginable. It is a slap to the face by Neil Druckman, who is clearly projecting his own agendas onto this game. The worst part was making me play as the girl(?) who hurts the main characters of the story and trying to make me like her, when in my mind, she's already irredeemable. The story itself is full of plot holes, inconsistencies, out-of-character moments, plot devices, dubious morality, unnecessary scenes (some of them disgusting), and an annoying theme of vengeance that doesn't work well with the ending, which made absolutely no sense and leaves the player angry for having gone through hours of gameplay for no payoff. Joel and Ellie's story ended in the worst possible way. Nothing like the original game and there was simply no respect for what the fans wanted.… Expand

    DO NOT LISTEN TO THE CRITICS REVIEWS. They are pointless. In the first 2 hours of the game, Naughty Dog managed to ruin what was once an amazing franchise/storyline. The character development was just so freaking weak. The disappointment was just beyond what my brain can comprehend. Next, because they decided to kill off Joel (whoever wrote the storyline needs to be fired ASAP) is just mind-boggling. Fans did not wait like what 7? 8? years for such a poorly written storyline to be presented to use. It truly felt like such a slap to the face. I tried so hard to push through and finish the game (I did) but the disappointment was just... The ONLY positive thing I have to say about this whole game was the graphics. That's it... The Last of Us was the type of game focus on the storyline. That's what made fans fall in love with the game in the first place. The storyline and character development.     Hands down one of the best (if not THE best) Games i have ever played - and I startet with a NES.

    I never felt more attached to a fictional Character (straight male here). The story got me fulltime. It was a blast to play.

    Before you enter the hate-Train take your time to make up your own mind. So you wont miss one of the best Games ever made.

    The game is about hate and revenge, and everything you do has a consequence. You are going to see that in this game. The way they took this game surprised me, but I actually liked it.
    For me it was fresh and new, seeing things from different views.

    But as Neil Druckmann already said before release. People that loved the first one, may not like part 2, and I guess he was right. This is not a game for everyone, but for the ones it is, it surely is a masterpiece.

    If you just exspect more Joel & Ellie story, do not buy this game. But if you are open minded and want something new compared to the first one, I think you should give it a try. Even if you wait a year or two when its cheaper. It's not the same as watching someone on twitch or youtube. At least not for me..

I'm convinced that they spent money on fake reviews - I don't think game journalists, of all people, are beyond accepting a deal of "I'll give you the game before it's released, you give it a 10/10, and I'll give you $100,000, just sign this NDA".

This is not just a betrayal of the characters, story, and audience that loved and supported the original, but the developers who were exploited and put through the wringer for the twisted desires and agenda of a selfish individual.

    I implore those who are interested in this game to save your money, and better yet, your time and affection for the characters of the original. Anything a fan could come up with in their own head would be a better outcome than what you would be putting yourself through with this shoddy, amateurish slap in the face.

    The game is a masterpiece from technical perspective; graphics, audio, animations, mocap... all superbly implemented as expected. However, they forgot one thing, which is what makes TLoU great in the first place. Meaningful characters, bond between them and a good freaking story.

    You won't be able to find a good story here, so only thing that makes this a 3 points review is the technical aspects. Whoever worked on the graphics, sound, animations etc. should be proud of themselves. Story otherwise, eh, hope they (Neil Druckmann and Halley Gross) won't get any project in the industry.     1º Personajes irreconocibles y escenas contradictorias.
    2º Joel muere nada más empezar la historia, sin tener ni siquiera 1 min de gloria, de forma tonta, torturado y humillado.
    Quitándonos toda posibilidad, no solo poder jugar con el de nuevo, si no además de ver una evolución y desarrollo con ellie y joel y era lo que pedíamos los fans, así como nos dio a entender "neil druckmann" y los trailers (dándonos publicidad engañosa). Que joel muriera era algo que se venia venir y tampoco pedíamos que fuera de forma heroica, pero no al principio de juego, como mucho a la mitad o al finalizar la historia, lo suficiente para ver un gran desarrollo de estos 2 personajes.
    3º Entendemos la razón de abby, pero no podemos simpatizar con ella y esto es lo que nos obliga el juego, a querer alguien que no queremos.
    4º Flasback + Flasback + Flasback + Ahora ellie y ahora abby y así sucesivamente....perdiendo en momento el hilo de la historia y el ritmo.
    5º Una venganza sin venganza, entendemos el mensaje que nos quiere dar el juego, pero si recorres toda una ciudad, proponiéndote cumplir con tu venganza, termina lo que has empezado, es como ver a john wick o a kratos perdonando.
    6º Ellie se queda sola.
