    This game is amazing. Emotionally draining but Amazing! It subverts expectations and improves the gameplay of the original and has some of the best combat and graphics im any modern game.

    The narrative is just incredible. It's like a Roller coaster of emotions. This game brings a lot of questions about what means in life, and just deliver to us an amazing narrative with incredible and wonderful protagonists. It's the deserved conclusion for the first game, maybe being even better than this one.

To understand the problems of The last of us 2 we need to understand that the last of us 1 gameplay was OK, a decent stealth horror cover shooter that fulfilled the needs but didn't blow anyone away. It was the character and story and how well they were written that made the game so great. A perfect ending helped keep a long lasting impression as one of the best games of all time. It needed no sequel.
    But we got one, and unlike the critics tell you, is not a masterpiece worthy of its predecessor. Let's start with the obvious things. The graphics like the last of us 1 for the ps3 are amazing, some of the best this generation, if there is anything naughty dog doesn't fail is graphics. They look as good if not better than Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy even doe some artistic choices can make the game look ugly at times, especially in some character models. But ugly does not mean bad graphics, the detail is there, sometimes it is just not pretty, but that is a artistic choice. Graphics 9/10
    Gameplay is more of the same, while it benefits from improved animations, the gameplay as not evolved much from the last of us 1. The cycle of gameplay as remained intact with less puzzles and more combat but almost no improvement in enemy or companion AI. The same frustrating unrealistic actions are still there with enemies ignoring your companions if you are hidden and they are stupid in front of the enemies hiding in front of their imaginary cardboard box. If you liked the original gameplay you will like this one but might find disappointing how little was improved considering the generation leap. 7/10
    Sound is great with amazing sound design, good music and great voice acting, even if the script wastes such good voice acting and talent. 9/10
    And finally, the most important part of a story driven game, the story. This is the worst story i have ever experienced in a videogame. Don't let fanboys tell you that you think this story is bad because of the sexuality of one of the main characters or because Joel dies. This is just a desperate attempt to throw sand in your eyes. This story is bad because it uses excessive amount of coincidences and stupefying characters to move along. What do i mean? Much of the plot does not occur if characters acted like normal, functional and coherent human beings. And to top it of it ends without any satisfying conclusion for either the player or the main character and betrays the saying of the last of us "When you are lost in the darkness look for the light". There is no light in this game, after it gives you darkness you will never see light. This is not an enjoyable story, but worst it is not a coherent story. There is no brilliant message you are not understanding as some fanboys try to claim, it is just a bad story. i will explain in detail why next Story 4/10
    Let's start with Joels death, Joel out of character saves the character Abby from being killed by clickers. Abby and her group coincidentally were looking for Joel to avenger her father that was the doctor that was going to kill Ellie. The evil doctor that decided to kill a child after some hours of analyzing her, that didn't ask for her consent or that didn't think about analyzing for more days to see a way of extracting a cure without killing her and that had already killed more people for cure and failed. She is looking for revenge for that terrible person and the rest of the fireflies that were no good either. How? considering Joel killed all the witnesses in the hospital to avoid being chased by them as Joel says to Marline in the end of 1. How? because it is convenient. Now coincidence, Joel happens to step upon them when they were looking for him and out of character save a bunch of strangers heavily armed. To make it worst they go with them to their hideout where they became vulnerable and trust them enough to give them their names. Anyone who played the first last of us knows Joel would never do that or allow Tommy to do it. Abby ears the name of Joel imitatively shoots him in the leg and starts beating him up with a golf club. The man that just saved her life. No hesitation, no remorse, killing the man she owns her life to. Ellie goes to try and save Joel and through the door sees Joel been beaten up, and instead of shooting immediately, she enters the door allowing herself to be disarmed and subdued. We saw also by one that Ellie would shoot immediately as she did in 1. So we can have a game, Abby and her group don't kill Ellie and Tommy, something we find out later is not coherent with Abby that acts all game as a sociopath killing everyone betraying people and showing no remorse on killing. The game tries to force you to sympathize with Abby and tries to find her a child to replace the Joel and Ellie relationship but it doesn't work. But the worst is the ending. Ellie spares Abby and loses everything while Abby suffers no consequences for her action. You don't get your revenge, your closure, you get no light.    … Expand

    I was so much looking forward to this game because I enjoyed the story of the first one so much. This story is highly disappointing though and the games only redeeming quality are the visuals.

The whole game you kill indescrimnently, and in the end you don't kill the chick that bit off your fingers a minute ago and who also killed your best friend. The premise of this game is ridiculous. And I hear metacritic isn't allowing anymore negative user scores. Metacritic is corrupt from removing negative reviews and weighing scores from different outlets differently. This is a test.     Beautiful graphics, great voice acting, and amazing music and sound design. TERRIBLE STORY, repetive combat, and alot of fatigue in the 2nd half of the game. Anyone giving this game less than a 3 or more than a 7 is completely full of it. The game is a 4 out of 10

    Well, it was quite a ride.

    Firstly, what I like about this game. -Combat mechanics are great. -Graphics is one of the best I have ever seen. Except for the shadows. They look blurred. Guess ps4's gpu can't handle it on the better level. -The main story is controversial, but I personally like it. It reminds me of Game of Thrones when anybody of the beloved characters can be killed    Well, it was quite a ride.

    -Bori-iii-ing gameplay while not in combat. You just walk and look for supplies. The small number of interesting puzzles. The game could be twice as short and it would be a lot better.

    All in all, I'd give it 7.5/10. I understand why all this anger and hate are taken out on this game, but I don't think that it actually deserves it.    … Expand

    It breaks my heart to write this, but I really did not expect such a poor story after all these years of waiting. While there were a few genuinely good moments, majority of game filled up with plot holes. It just took elements of what worked for the first game without understanding what made them compelling. Maybe it’s not the Joel and Ellie story some people were looking for, but that doesn’t mean that by default that it’s bad. The game is about the cycle of violence, it’s consequences, and the many different perspectives. There are no good guys or bad guys in this story. Each character is shown in equal light, we get to understand their choices and the player isn’t supposed to agree with everything. This game isn’t a sequel about the characters from the first one, it is a continuation that uses those characters to show a larger story about hate, revenge, and the path that it all leads to.… Expand

    Let's be honest here, this is a game with an expensive studio behind it, meaning it has triple A graphics, even if it is nothing we haven't seen before, buts that's where it ends. The gameplay itself is nothing ground breaking and quite flat when considering where the original was at for it's time. This is fundamentally a single player story game, with a popular Last of Us 1 behind it. This is where the biggest failure of the game appears. The story stinks of Social Justice Warrior politically correct culture, even if you play trying not to think about it, the game will slap you with more, while simultaneously destroying everything that made the original story great. If you hope of continued story of Part 1, then you will be very disappointed. I understand the studio lead wanted a game of strong independent testosterone fueled lesbian women, but it seems that they were more concerned with ticking those boxes than actually making any characters the player can care about, relate to or even remotely like.

    I would be happy for this game to be destroyed after playing it, as I won't ever go back to it, I don't feel happy at spending my time playing it, I feel cheated by pre-ordering it and I certainly won't be going back to buy from a studio that spends the most part of a decade making something as pointless as it is political. It's a soulless attempt by creators who think they are pushing boundaries, but in reality need to wake up and smell what they are shovelling.    … Expand

Who signed off to release this? From the original games heartwarming and brutal paean to the relationship between Fathers and their Daughters to a confused mishmash of hysterical modern political preaching and violence to the point of parody this game wants to be hated to make a point that even it isn't sure about. In places visually stunning but the animations at times leave a lot to be desired. The jump button is useless and the box declaring it as a feature in 2020 is ridiculous. To best sum up TLou2 we must compare it to the first game because it is an unashamed vendetta against everything that made the first game special. It is akin to tearing down a classic painting, burning it and then proclaiming yourself the true artist. I understand certain zeitgeists put deconstruction of a classic on a pedestal but this is just crude and bitter. Even the pseudo Kojima trickery attempted by the trailers was bought by nobody. The fans knew what was coming. The main point of my review is that hardly any of what is in Tlou2 needs to be in a video game. A good video game with a bad story is playable. A bad video game with a good story is acceptable. Tlou2 may have familiar controls to the first game but the game tries to guilt trip you for using them. A survival horror game that tries to guilt trip you for surviving is not worth the plastic its printed on. Do sports games penalise you for scoring? All in all the game sought to elicit a negative response and I hope it gets it because contempt for the fanbase should never be rewarded. I was a huge fan of the story from tlou1 but I felt like this sequel went at length to undo things from the first to make the story fit. I didn't particularly like any character this time around. I didn't like the revenge story. Another revenge story and game I just played was rdr2 and I still think about that game. This game I can't wait to forget. The silver lining is I will probably will think twice before I buy a ND title now atleast.… Expand

I expect this will be my game of the year and may even be second most memorable game of the generation behind RDR2. It did something no game has ever done, the character switch half way through made me so mad I thought I was going to quit. After not long I liked Abby and was back on board. This was not like MGS2 like many are comparing it to, Raiden played much differently. After the first fewer hours on the ship that game nver won me back.

    My only complaints are that I felt like some of the traveling in Seattle was dragged out for too long and the disconnection between Abby and the WLF felt rushed. I cannot understand these low user scores, there's no way they played this incredible game.    … Expand

    I love the first one, one of the best game ever. The best things about it were story and characters. And the sequel destroyed everything i love about the first game. So heartbreaking i cant except it.

Never in any book, any movie, any tv show and any game. I don't know why these developers felt that that would be a good idea. And then they expect me to play this murderer for the next half of the game... uhhh nope. I'll try to get her killed instead because I don't care about her.

    And that long prolonged sex scene. It's obvious they only added it and purposely made it as gross and disgusting as possible to troll people... their audience... their paying customers... wtf. Do they want money or not?

    Trash game. I won't be preordering the next one which is where most of their sales came from.    … Expand

Зверски убила абсолютно незнакомого ей человека, который ее только что спас рискуя жизнью. Убила с наслаждением, мучая его на глазах явно близкого ему человека. Всю игру ложила болт на своих друзей и врагов, абсолютно не рефлексировала по поводу содеянного (зверское убийство Джоела). Всех предала и свалила в другую часть страны, где вляпалась, как последняя тупица и в конце еще и выжила, уплыв на лодочке в туман! Шикарная история!

    А какая мораль? Хочешь отомстить? Собери команду побольше, и когда карма решит вернуть тебе должок, они все подохнут, а на тебя уже запала не останется.

    Отличный персонаж и история построенная исключительно на удаче! Бог из машини на каждом шагу! Нашла Джоела - удача. Умирала в петле, но выжила - удача. Нашла Элли - удача (вот валяется карта, где кружочком отмечено где искать). Умирала на столбе, спасли - удача. Уже почти утопили, но убийца передума - УДАААЧАААА! Что там на удачу едят? Клевер? Она походу в перемешку со стероидами его жрала.

    Не, ну а чего? Отличная история и персонаж! Достойная замена Джоелу (НЕТ). И вот за такого персонажа 10 часов геймплея. Что могло возмутить поклонников игры, непонятно?! Внешность наверное.    … Expand

    Gameplay,story,characters and etc.Everything is in high quality. Even though this game for some extend has political reference,it doesn't affect to the game and to storyline.It has great gameplay and i enjoyed it. My recommendation is to not play this game without finishing the first part.

    Saw all the mixed reviews and I usually follow the people's choice as I find them honest. This game ROCKS . The only part I didn't like was when it ended as all games do.. Yes the story is twisted and tears your heart apart but with a story like that I won't be forgetting it like most games ..

The game director got too involved in the project, there is a character that was motion captured by Neil Druckmann, there is a file in the game mentioning Neil Druckmann, there is an OC of Neil Druckmann in the game, he was more interested in accomplish his personal agenda than deliver a coherent story. And oh god, he forced one of the actresses to have motion capture sex with him in one of the scenes, absolutely disguting.

    We have learned nothing about the fungus, the cure, the fireflies, there is no world bulding or character development, none. Everything here is focused on Ellie and Abby's personal struggle, and oh my god, both are written horribly. It makes everything look like filler, it looks like you bought a DLC from the original game rather than a new game. And they lied to you, they hidden Abby in almost all the marketing after the leaks controversy, you ACTUALLY play with her for more than half of the game.

    - The gameplay makes me understand why the critics gave 10/10 for this game, it basically plays itself with the minimum imput of the player, perfect for lazy critics, it is an interactive movie. The first 6 hours of gameplay is a walking simulator. In the parts that you do have to play for real, the gameplay is just a tweaked version of its predecessor. There is nothing revolutionary or interesting about it as they promise in the marketing. It's just more of the same generic third-person FPS, RDR2 did it way better.

    - The soundtrack is generic and nothing special.

    - The graphics and facial expression are the game's strongest selling points. But they look pale compared to RDR2.

    This game honestly is a 5/10 but I'm giving it a 0/10 because of the director's smugness and arrogance and because of the way Naughty Dog treated his employees during the development of this game.

    Just beat it. Not sure if it's a 10 or not yet I just felt obligated to score try and combat its baby-bomb score. A more mature and depressing game than its predecessor. If you enjoyed the first one please do yourself a favor and don't listen to the review bombing (the game was doomed before it released) and play this game. It will move you.

It takes balls to do something like what happened in The last of us 2, and that is why the game is and always will be above 8/10 no matter how many negative reviews there will be.     Tem temas fortes e que incomoda aos mais céticos, muito provável por isso que vem sendo massacrado nas notas de usuários. Pra mim é um um dos melhores jogos que já joguei na vida e merece um 10.

    What Niel Druckman did with this game is unfair for those people that played the first game with their heart. Having created a relationship with Joel and Ellie on their peak of the firs adventure is something very difficult to overtake in a second take like this. If they wanted to make a new character for this, they must consider then build that character into the players.

    From the technical aspect I believe this is one of the best PlayStation exclusives I've seen. From the graphics to the controls and level design, this game was strongly satisfying and for that I do believe it gets a 10/10. Now when it comes to the story, this game is a mixed bag. I do want to start by acknowledging that this story would very well serve as a plot for a movie or show as it analyzes from different perspectives, very strong emotions we as humans experience: loss, anger and pain. Now with that said, the story as good as it might does not entirely work for me with this franchise . I believe this comes from the fact that many... many fans just expected the game to take a different route. Ever since the previous installment, some fans begged Naughty Dog for a sequel as means to continue the ever evolving relationship between Ellie and Joel and based on the misleading trailers it looked like we were going to get it. Instead we were treated with a harsh realisation as during the first couple of hours the latter dies in a way that was very upsetting for anyone who loved the character. Throughout the entire game as you survive the streets of Seattle as Ellie, you keep hoping that he magically reappears wishing that he somehow survived his injuries. He does appear later in the game in the form of flashbacks and without a doubt those to me where the best parts of the game. These playable flashbacks serve as connecting tissue, explaining what happened in the 4 years in between each game, however; I can confidently say that they are way too short and do not do the characters any justice. In the game you do explore Ellie's relationship with Dina (her girlfriend) and Jesse (friend) but unlike with Joel it only takes a couple hours for you to feel that her relationship with them cannot evolve any further. Halfway through the game you are abruptly taken from Ellie's perspective and into Abby's perspective (antagonist). You can clearly see that it is an attempt to make the player empathize with the antagonist, to show that she is actually a good person and that she did what she had to do... That did not really work. I do have to admit that the best levels of the game are played through Abby's eyes and ultimately were the most fun for me. With that said, at no point was I able to take off the back of my mind that she was the one responsible for Joel's death. Although I could see that she had a noble goal throughout the game, I couldn't stop believing that everything horrible that occurred to her was deserved. At times I would even purposely let her character fall off a cliff and get swarmed by clickers just to be able to say "you deserve that **** However, her relationship with a young boy named Lev later in game did make me feel familiar emotions as it resembled that of Ellie and Joel but even with that I hoped for Ellie to end Abby by the end. The ending of this game was a bit of a letdown as it did not provide in my opinion a good nor satisfying closure to most of the plots in the story. The beginning of this story leaves our beloved Ellie hurt and broken and by the end of it we see that she remains that way both emotionally and literally. Naughty Dog effectively conveys the same emotional toll for the player as you also feel emotionally broken once you finish, that however does not mean it is a good thing as it also makes me not wish for another installment. I do believe the game was good overall but I think I would have preferred this as the third installment with the second taking place in the 4 years in between with both Ellie and Joel. In the end, The Last of Us part 2 makes a great game that people should definitely experience but the story somewhat disappoints.    … Expand

    Unfortunate, that she took the path of anger, and no regard for human life to get there, its almost Walking Dead-ish in that sense with the introduction of Negan and how it affected characters we loved.

    All things said, with graphics, sound, animation, the world created, and just everything together its an 8 for me, but I will bump it to account for some of the ridiculous hateful scores.    … Expand

Es un juego muy cruel, que no teme quitarte soportes desde un inicio, te rompe el corazon y ves como esa ellie dulce que aparecia en el TLoU 1 va perdiendo la cabeza de a poco en sed de vengarse. No es un juego perfecto, pero si muy bien logrado en todos aspectos, mensaje, empatia con personajes, musica, graficos, etc. Le daria 9,5.

    SPOILERS

    Muchos se quejas por la muerte de Joel diciendo que no fue heroica o trajica, pero no saben que todas las muertes son sin previo aviso o antiheroicas. Jesse muere en una cinematica como cualquier otra y en la misma cinematica nos dan a entender que Tommy tambien. No hay muertes valientes aca, es todo realista.
    La historia esta muy bien guionizada y escrita, sentis lastima y enojo por lo que sucede. Y el final es simplemente desolador, saber que Ellie renuncio a una vida de paz con Dina para matar a Abby cuando la habia dejado vivir 2 veces. Se quedo sin la daga que le dio su madre (que era lo unico que tenia ademas de la carta), sin 2 dedos que no dejan tocar la guitarra como antes y la unica cosa que le quedaba de Joel, pierde una oportunidad con Dina y se cumplio su mayor temor: estar sola.
    No solo eso, Tommy tambien lo perdio todo, Maria lo dejó, no puede usar una pierna, quedo ciego de un ojo y en lo ultimo que lo vimos, mando a Ellie a matarla a Abby.
    Lo unico que le agregaria es que Abby se de cuenta de las consecuencias que le trajo buscar venganza contra Joel, perdio todos sus amigos, inicio una guerra entre Scars y WLF por su culpa, (ya que Tommy mato unos Scars, y ellos pensaron que eran WLF), se convirtio en Joel mandando a todo su grupo a la mierda con tal de proteger a Lev y ni siquiera hay un dialogo de arrepentimiento o culpa o dandose cuenta que hizo lo que hizo Joel. Pero supongo que veremos eso si es que sacan un DLC o TLoU 3.
    En mi caso no empatice completamente con Abby pero si la entendí, y hasta senti que Ellie tenia que morir. Y Naughty Dog hizo bien su trabajo si dudaste aunque sea de que estaba pasando realmente y quien esta siendo mas humano y coherente.    … Expand

    The best experience I've ever had in video games. Such a great story. I really don't understand why it is so hated. People would rather a cliche story, that's the only resoanable explanation.

    1) I dislike the storyline. It is all over there place trying to fit a social agenda plus shock value.
    2) Gameplay is tight
    3) Graphics and sound are amazing

I loved almost every second of the game.. the way Ellie loses focus on what's important in exchange for her hateful feelings and also Abby's journey for revenge and ultimatly gaining someone to care, really care for. It kinda reminded me of Joel's journey in the first game of being a real **** to caring about someone again.. Abby goes thru the same thing actually, not as fleshed out as Joel story was but still..But the ending got botched because even tho I understand that Ellie goes out for a last chance to revenge Joel (even having settled, raising a child and having a life) she doesn’t sees it thru in the final second.. so that’s something I didn’t quite get behind. But overall a solid experience, lot’s of tearjerking moments, beautiful grafics and wonderful gameplay!!!… Expand

    Jogo foda sensacional, ambientes de tirar o fôlego e uma história cativante de mais um dos melhores jogos de ps4, realmente aproveitaram tudo que o ps4 pode oferecer!!!!!

Я думаю что большинство людей ждали что мы сейчас пойдем и разнесем, и все будут живы и здоровы. Вообщем мое мнение, игра шедевр. Хорошая графика, хороший геймплей и классный сюжет!!!     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I waited for 7 years for this game and was very hyped. I thought it was too expensive at the release but I bought it anyway.

    unfortunately, I read the leaks and could not believe them so I had to play it to prove that Naughty Dog would not make this mistake by killing Joel. By Telling a story about a character, ABBY, I don't care about.

    The gameplay was wonderful like the animations and so on but I really hated the story. It has too many plotholes, the flashbacks drag you out of the story and the ending is pointless. There are so many great characters that die in the end or you don't know what happend to them like Dina and her baby. They are just gone.

    It is a very good videogame if you just want to shoot people and infected with one of the best skillbased shooting in history but the story is trash.

    The Score of 4 points are just for the game itself (excluding story and storytelling) the other parts which are more important for me get 0 points. I hope Naughtydog will learn by this socring of the game and will think about a satisfaying story which the players and the characters deserve!    … Expand

See gameplay relies on the narrrtive sequences. If the context of what the players do suck and the chacater they do it through sucks then......     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Great gameplay. Joel dying moves the story along. Playing as Abby is fun despite what some people say (her combat style is basically Joel). I don’t love the anti-revenge statement of the game because it is somewhat nonsensical at times. However, I think the writers did a good job humanizing characters you initially hate / don’t understand.… Expand

    Im just amazed of how many **** retards there are in the world that dont understand the game. Gotta suck be that **** stupid. Just fascinating.

    Amazing game, I wanna do a memory wipe and experience it all again :)

    But you need a brain to understand why the characters do some of the choices. If you dont get it, then **** play something else, stupid ****

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
