    It’s worse than E.T. for the Atari 2600. The game puts up a front in order to make you think it has a deep story, but it is anything but.     I didn't like the story and character motivations felt very unnatural. Nobody in their right mind would act as these characters did. None of it made sense and whole game felt pointless and meaningless waste of time.

    Characters are basically the opposite then what there were in the first game(for what ever reason)and the new characters are uninteresting

    The game is not for everyone and certainly not for those who did not play the first part. But if you liked the first TLOU, then this part will not leave you indifferent:)

    Its a beautiful game top tier graphics, the gameplay mechanics are great, 2 things that ND knows how to do perfectly, however... being a singleplayer focused game... the story was disappointing, the characters were easily forgettable and there were several inconsistencies. Compared to the first TLOU, its almost an insult that we got this: "fanfiction with huge budget turned into game" as aIts a beautiful game top tier graphics, the gameplay mechanics are great, 2 things that ND knows how to do perfectly, however... being a singleplayer focused game... the story was disappointing, the characters were easily forgettable and there were several inconsistencies. Compared to the first TLOU, its almost an insult that we got this: "fanfiction with huge budget turned into game" as a sequel to the legendary title that TLOU was. I still want to see more from ND, but TLOU Part II is not nearly as good as some other titles from the studio, straight up disappointing, overrated. Its like a book with the most beautiful cover you have seen, but once you start reading it... 3/10.… Expand

Political correctness is the term, we see it everywhere, yea I hate it too sometimes. But, i don't understand those low ratings, this game is a masterpiece, it's breathtaking atmosphere, grafics, brutal game play with gore I've never seen before, and a story thatSome aspects of the story and those characters I didn't like at all.     A spectacular sequel to a memorable game, technically it's the most absurd thing I've seen in a video game to date, some narrative decisions are very questionable, but nothing that takes away the shine, the ending is a real punch in the stomach.

    Seguito strepitoso: non innova particolarmente il gameplay, ma immerge il giocatore in un racconto semplice ma avvincente, superiore addirittura a quello del primo episodio, con personaggi fantastici e colpi di scena continui.
    Uno di quei giochi che rimane nel cuore di chi ci ha giocato.

    Graphics are good but I found this game to be a disappointment. I wish I never pre ordered and this is the last time I ever will pre order. The story is poorly paced and I found it difficult to find the characters likable in any way given what happens early in the plot with some main characters.

    Ultimately, I purchased the game because of the relationship between Ellie and Joel. The marketing intentionally misled us and made it appear that the game was going to be exactly that but it was the opposite.

    If you enjoyed the first game then liking the sequel will be a coin toss at best.    … Expand

The first game really seemed like a passion project from the devs, but they really threw that in the garbage in the second one. Not only does the plot suck doodoo ass, the graphics are terrible, none of the characters look the same as they do in the trailer. Naughty dog clearly lied to us. And on top of that they are clearly trying to force the LGBTQIA+/liberal agenda. The worst offense is that the main character is GAY. It makes no sense for the main character to be gay because I don't like it. All the work Joel did just for him to die and his daughter to turn gay and SMOKE WEED. Devils lettuce man. I will never let my kids near this game.… Expand

    A very bad game.
    The only thing that is enjoyable in this game is the stealth and action scenes, rather that this absolute garbage.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game isn't without its flaws but people are flaming it to hard. Its still a great game and if you enjoyed the 1st one (Which was no doubt better then the part 2) then you would still enjoy this one.
    The good parts of the game is that the combat has been improved and headshots are a 1 shot kill as they weren't before.
    Crafting is slightly better although for some reason Abby (Not Ellie) can't craft arrows. God forgive these devs for making such a dumb decision.
    The story is great and was a good continuation of the previous game. It of course had a high bar to live up to which being honest I don't think it quite made it but I it would have been near impossible to do so.
    The graphics are more than something to brag about. The attention to detail is gotta be the best I've seen in a game before. Even small things for example the shotgun ammo on the stock is what ammo you got left. If you have 2 regular and 2 incendiary on the stock it will have 2 yellow and 2 red. Small things like that really bring the game more to life.
    I loved how we got more groups in this one. The WLF's, the Scars, The Rattlers... They are all different and have different ambitions and survive in different ways. Not necessarily good ways thou. You would be lying if you thought the whistling of the scars wasn't cool asf.

    The downsides were that stealth still kind of sucked. I understood the 1st game slacking a bit because it was originally made on the Ps3. But a late entry to the Ps4 there is no excuse for it being how it was. It was like it hadn't been worked on at all from the previous game. In a game where you can barely carry any ammo and body shots take 5 to kill someone so your only option is stealth to pick a as many if not all your enemies off and it was that basic just disappoints me. I could have 10 dead bodies piled up in 1 place. The enemy would see it, look around for 30 seconds and forget all about it. They should be hunting you down like a pack of wolfs (Pun intended).
    Lack of zombie encounters. This series was made on zombies yet when you see them you kill a 3 or 4 and move on. At 1 point we kill some big ass multi mutation which was awesome but why do we only get that once? I wish we got to fight off huge hordes and stuff.. Why is it always, you go into a building and there is a couple infected to remind you that they exist, you gotta a kill them and after you move on. If there has been an outbreak then I'm shocked because if this is half of the worlds population then you live in some deadass place. The 1st game had loads of zombies and it was awesome. In this one its all about the WLFs and Scars with a hint of zombie. You have given us less of what we love.
    Abby should have been able to craft arrows. She has no way in crafting stealth material. I feel like you wanted to make her less stealthy and more guns blazing but if that was the case why can she carry a small amount of ammo? She should be able to carry 3 if not 4 clips not 1 and a half. (including the 1 in the gun).
    We played to much of abby. Don't get me wrong I loved seeing her side to things and thought it was awesome her she had her own attributed and guns but I feel like I played her more then Ellie if not near half and half. This game is a continuation of the 1st game and Ellie is on the cover so why did I spend near half of the game playing as someone else? Just my point of view others may be different.
    The characters didn't have as much emotion as the 1st one. I am not sure if that's the right way to put it but say for example in the 1st one where Joel starts off not liking Ellie cos of his Daughter and then he ends up liking her and looks at her as his own. Not replacing his daughter but putting the care he had for her into Ellie instead. In part 2 the character were more straight forward. I mite be overlooking something thou.

    I think it would have been cool if we got to know more of the characters better. We don't know a single thing about these people? Like who the hell were they before the infection? Or if they were born after then why don't they talk about various things they enjoy. The conversation is always present based. Just thought I would throw that in there cos I found it kind of strange.

    The summaries the game is still amazing. Not as good as the 1st but damn it would have been hard to live up to such a game. This is has improvements from the 1st but I think some areas weren't improved enough like the stealth mechanics. Which is a huge part of the game. Or why the hell can I find half a container? Surely all containers should come as 1 objects not 4. I hope we do get a part 3 although its hard to say with how this one ended. We could find out if Abby finds the fireflies or if Ellie ends up back at home or does she continue to fight off the infected and found another group to survive alongside? Does her life now consist of saving people from hunters/rattlers? I hope we get to find out!    … Expand

    Buena continuación de la primera parte, mismas mecánicas de juego y gráficamente cumple muy bien. La historia sorprende y suceden cosas que uno no espera. Igual el vivir dos historias que se acaban uniendo no acabas de empatizar con alguna de las protagonistas de la historia. Juego de notable alto y muy recomendable para la gente que haya jugado su primera parte.

    Didn't like this game at all, possibly worst gaming experience i have ever had. My favorite character in this series died in less than 1 hour of gameplay and after that i had to play as his murderer, that's where it was just too much and i stopped playing. Nothing in this game made sense. I threw away the copy into trash can.

    Saying that I disliked this game would be an insult to every games I disliked..

    This game goes far beyond "subverting expectations", far beyond "disrespecting the people who literally built your success..", it goes far beyond anything I thought could be possible! And I say this even after Star Wars VIII !! Here are the same mechanisms, again and again...to hijack some iconic product,    Saying that I disliked this game would be an insult to every games I disliked..

    This game goes far beyond "subverting expectations", far beyond "disrespecting the people who literally built your success..", it goes far beyond anything I thought could be possible! And I say this even after Star Wars VIII !! Here are the same mechanisms, again and again...to hijack some iconic product, some whole franchise, some whole fanbase, hijack them to bring them where you, some extraordinary minor but extraordinary ultra radical minority, want them to be put!

    You know that if you did, by yourself, create a completely NEW product completely in line with your ultra radical political agenda, you know that this product would not pass the number of a couple of thousands sold copies !! (Even more without the false advertising you are experts at !)

    So you hijack some big names which by themselves, you know it, will sell millions of copies! That's your kind of people's strategy, here and everywhere, again and again! Of course, false advertising is professionally applied!

    And this game set a new record in that strategy! Congratz to you! But you'll learn that many, many, many people can acknowledge them being fooled once! But you'll learn that they are learning too !

    As it is said : Vote and express Yourself with your wallet !!
    I don't need nor want to swear, just believe me when I say that never ever will I buy any more product from Naught Dog!

    Here are my ratings :

    1 point for the technical side of that "game". That point goes to you all, the tech devs..

    0 point for.. everything else.
    The scenario is one of the worst I played, and you can repeat this appreciation to everything else (Artistic design, character design, scenario, originality, "respect" of the franchise, "respect" of the gamers, "respect" of anything of value in the franchise)

    So that's a score of 1/10.. but I really should remove 1 point to respond to all the 10/10.. Adapting myself to the audience here around.. but no.. here too, I'll keep the respect I have for myself..

    Thank you Naughty dog for making me a "different" gamer! You indeed made me "progress". I'm now open to spoilers! I'm now ultra careful before buying any AAA or any big franchise's products ! I'm now far more radical, following your example, with my opinions and search criterias !

    I was a radical "no spoil" gamer.. since TLOU2 now I simply cannot and will never ever again preorder any games! I'll patiently wait for real people's reviews and for real people's feedbacks before thinking of acquiring any game ! Thank you soo much Naughty Dog!

    On a technical level it's a masterpiece, I admit. But all this gets murdered by the idiot that wrote a plot wich made no sense at all. The characters or factios have no interesting motives, no secret agendas, no major plot twists that could shock a player - they just feel so real and yet so empty. When I finished the Last of us part I it left me satisfied and craving for more, whle part IIOn a technical level it's a masterpiece, I admit. But all this gets murdered by the idiot that wrote a plot wich made no sense at all. The characters or factios have no interesting motives, no secret agendas, no major plot twists that could shock a player - they just feel so real and yet so empty. When I finished the Last of us part I it left me satisfied and craving for more, whle part II ruined the series for me - not because it had dark and depressing theme, but because in the end it made me feel like I don't care at all about what happenes further, as the game failed to create any bond between me and any charactrer in the game.     People need to understand that just because you don’t like how a story goes, that doesn’t make the game bad. This is the best storytelling in any game I have ever seen, and has a great message which the player can reflect on. On top of it all, the game is beautful, and extremely realistic.

Games are a way for all of us to delve into to escape reality and the monotony in life. That is exactly what the first game did, it created a masterful story everybody loved with ups and downs and with no politics involved. Now for what I think about this sequel: I would not give this game anything above a zero because ND took a route that should not have been taken with a sequel to a game that was as close to a masterpiece as one could get (in regards to the story). Lazy, confusing writing, pander simulator, plot holes, making you play as someone NOBODY gives a rat's a** about, killing the main protagonist in a terribly brutal and (to be completely honest) not believable way. Tommy and Joel have been through thick and thin for the last thirty years, and just trust a bunch of sketchy random strangers? There is much more, but many more people have analyzed this garbage game better than I have. Don't waste your money or give it to a company that pulls stuff like this.… Expand

    One of the best and best looking games of all time. Naughty Dog has done it again. Controls are better and the story is strong, even though the end was suprising and some how weak because I didn't saw it coming.

    An excellent game overall. Amazingly written. Incredible graphics and animations and awesome soundtrack. It was an emotional roller coaster, very thought provoking and dark. For a few days after finishing it, I couldn't stop thinking about it. Just incredible. The only reason it doesn't get a 10/10 is because the gameplay sections are a bit repetitive and drag more than they should. AndAn excellent game overall. Amazingly written. Incredible graphics and animations and awesome soundtrack. It was an emotional roller coaster, very thought provoking and dark. For a few days after finishing it, I couldn't stop thinking about it. The survival feeling has also been nerfed a little. But seeing this as a narrative based game I don't care that much about the less compelling gameplay. TLOU part I is my favorite game of all time, so I had extremely high standards for the sequel (which wasn’t needed in the first place). For me, this game has it’s positives, which are:

    1) gameplay - many people disliked the gameplay on    This is a very polarizing game.     1) gameplay - many people disliked the gameplay on part I, but I really really enjoyed it, and in part II it is slightly improved. Overall pretty fun to play. 2) visuals - when it comes to animations, graphics, how realistic killing a person or an infected looks, it is legitimately top tier.
    3) sound - everything in the sound department was nailed.
    4) AI - the AI is pretty good, which is very important in games like these where immersion and believability is key.

    It’s negatives:
    1) plot - the story is absolutely terrible. To have the daughter of such an irrelevant NPC in part I magically matter so much in this world is ridiculously unbelievable. It is a petty revenge story with nothing good in it.
    2) characters - there are really no good characters in this story, not a single one. Some are mediocre, some are atrocious. It is a shame how such bad writing can forever destroy the love we all had to a character like Ellie. 3) pacing - who thought it was a good idea to go back and forth between characters and setting? All to make the audience care for such a bad and irrelevant character in Abby. Guess what Naughty Dog, we do not care, and in any subsequent games featuring Abby we won’t either. You already had great characters in Joel and Ellie which both worked by how well they complimented each other, and now that is lost in a story that simply DID NOT NEED TO HAVE BEEN TOLD. 4) length - this game is unnecessarily long. It doesn’t appreciate the players time and gets extremely tedious right at the halfway point. 5) the infection- such interesting lore surrounding this world, which is impressive considering how bloated this genre is, and it was completely ignored and wasted.    … Expand

This game makes you question every character in the game but also empathize with every character. Naughty Dog remains a special studio and they showed it again with this performance.

Que hayan matado a joel al principio del juego, repetir los días dos veces pero de diferente punto me dio pereza, que me hayan hecho usar abby obligatorio me dio asco,el final se “ supone que es una historia de venganza” algo que decían en las entrevistas te venden algo diferente te engañan con una publicidad falsa, la jugabilidad es buena, los gráficos, casi todo pero narrativamente hablando es basura, no vale la pena comprarlo ni en promoción.
    De mi parte no lo recomiendo comprar si amaste la primera, si no te gusto la primera esta puede que ser que menos te guste, te vende una “historia de venganza ” algo que nunca pasó, la excusa que te pone el director es que la venganza es mala y envenena el alma, que esa basura te lo acepto que te engañen los del cine por que el boleto vale poco, pero un juego vale casi el triple que un boleto de cine, no recomiendo este juego a nadie que ame la esencia de The last of us parte 2    … Expand

В игре довольно хороший сюжет, развитие персонажей, детализация уровней, управление, ВСЁ примерно на том же уровне. Да, безусловно она не дотягивает до первой части, но беря её как отдельную игру получилось очень даже хорошо! Смерть Джоэла практически в самом начале даёт нам понимание того, что не надо оставаться на одном месте, нужно двигаться дальше, концовка же объясняет, что месть, это худшее что можно сделать, Элли потеряла всё! От пальцев на руке до семьи. Смотря последние кат-сцены я испытывал чувство опустошённости... Игра правда трогает, и передать все эмоции нереально, Sony и Naughty dog гении, а люди которые ставят плохие отзывы из-за того что игра не ушла в прорыв по сравнению с прошлой частью идиоты! А ещё смерть Джоэла была необходима, и говорить что игра плоха из-за этого так же глупо... Не все поняли идею игры и сюжета в целом, надо разобраться с мыслями, успокоиться и прийти в себя, а уже после оценивать данный шедевр!… Expand

Because you didn't get what you exactly wanted shouldn't be a reason to absolutely hate a game this much. It is pure anger and disrespect to an absolute masterpiece. Alright the first game was better storywise but in every other way this game was bigger and better. Yes Joel dies but that doesn't mean that this game sucked. This game wanted you to hate Abby and you did, i did. Honestly i still don't get why Ellie didn't finish her. I have to admit that the SJW is all over the game that sucked so bad.     TLOU part 2, es quizás el mejor juego de la generación para muchos, para mi de los mejores 3, sin duda alguna destaca su gameplay que raya en la perfección, su historia cruda y dificil de digerir, los mejores gráficos en una consola PlayStation 4, superando por mucho a Horizon FW y God of War. The ending was spoiled for me so I didn't have any reasons to buy it. Untill a friend of mine gave me his copy for free. I played it and I really enjoyed the game. The graphics look really good, the gameplay wasI hate zombie games and I didn't like The last of us part one. But for some reasons I really enjoyed this one. La historia es cruda y emocionante, tiene momentos muy sangrientos y la brutalidad de las muertes es alucinante. Muchos se quejan de la muerte de Joel en las primeras 2 horas de juego y la mayoría suele dejarlo ahí, y eso es un grave error, la muerte de Joel es lo que le da arranque a la historia, una historia de venganza, de una ellie furiosa buscando a aquellos que le arrebataron a Joel los cuales le perdonaron la vida a ellie porque no tenían nada que ver. Dando un pequeño salto justo a la mitad del juego, cuando abby y ellie se encuentran en el teatro cuando abby va a matará Dina y ellie le dice que se detenga porque no tiene nada que ver, me parece una escena hermosa demostrando que abby también tiene un límite. También me gusta el poder jugar con abby para entender el porqué mato a Joel, y aunque entiendas el porqué lo hizo, sigue doliendo la muerte de Joel y me parece genial que algo así ocurra, pocos juegos se atreven a matar a un personaje tan amado como Joel y encima lo hacen en las primeras horas de juego y a mi me parece genial, mostrando que el mundo de the last of us es cruel. El final me gustó mucho, con ellie y abby cansadas y golpeadas, ellie obligando a abby a pelear con ella, amenazando a abby con matar a lev con el paralelismo con la escena del teatro y ellie, me parece hermoso y la escena final sin duda la escena más bella del juego junto con la del transbordador espacial. Sin duda una secuela más que digna.… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
