    My game of the generation for sure. Topping off the PS4 generation with one of the best games ever conceived is a great achievement by Naughty Dog, and props to them for taking risks and trying new things. Even if you don't like the story, all other aspects are stellar, with THE best graphics I've ever seen, tight and gritty gameplay, topped off by fantastic acting. I adore it in everyMy game of the generation for sure. Topping off the PS4 generation with one of the best games ever conceived is a great achievement by Naughty Dog, and props to them for taking risks and trying new things.     Mis puntos de acuerdo al juego:
    1.-La muerte de Joel:

    Empezare por la muerte de Joel, en el 1er juego se nos habia demostrado que el tipo no confiaba mucho de cualquier persona, tanto que le costo agarrar confianza con Ellie. Y de repente en la parte dos conoce a una tipa como si nada, en una situación para nada forzada para que se apoyen un poco, y sin dudarlo va a acompañarla donde esta su grupo nada mas conocerla, y termina en su muerte.

    2.- Los amigos de Ellie:

    El chino, es muy poca la información de el porque es tan amigo de Ellie, a la vez que solo es un personaje de relleno el cual despues de morir, no se le hace mencion alguna y pasa a ser olvidado rápidamente.

    La novia de Ellie, no tengo problema con este tipo de relaciones, pero tambien una cosa es saber justificar su relación, la construcción de su amor es bastante baga.

    Los demas, no hay mucho que decir, es lo mismo que lo anterior, pero peor.

    3.-La historia:

    En resumen esta se basa en la venganza, pero al final todo termina que la venganza es mala, tirando todo lo visto en el juego (Ellie mataste a medio mundo para no hacer nada al final). Y tambien que justamente que la 2da protagonista sea la hija del medico que mato Joel en la primera parte es bastante forzado.

    No es un mal juego, pero es mas recomendable jugar el primero.    … Expand

    It's really a pity, that a 10/10 game with superb storytelling got review bombed so badly, by people driven 100% ideologically, who - in most cases - didn't even play the game, just blindly dropping 1/10 or 0/10 "bEcAuSe hOmOsExUaLiTy bAd aNd sToRy wEnT nOt ThE wAy i wOuLd lIeK huRR dUrr".

Top tier graphics, animations, sound design, accessibility, acting performances, enemy AI, physics, and gameplay systems make this an incredible game worth experiencing. The plot and characters are engaging and invoke many emotions in you, while also challenging some of your instinctive emotions and feelings. However, the tone of the story is very dark, so it may not be for everybody. The gameplay and level design is superb with some very intense enemy encounters due to Naughty Dog crafting some of the best AI I have seen in a game that seem like real people. Graphics are stunning. Animations are lifelike. Gameplay is fun, responsive, and intuitive. Sound design is phenomenal as well with gun shot effects in particular being very well done. The infected are scarier than ever with improved models and even better sound design than the first game. Sound track is also great and suits the themes well in the game. Overall, despite me being a little disappointed with the direction of the story it’s hard to talk bad about this game when it does so much right. I would give the first game a 10/10 just because I preferred the tone of the story better and I liked the characters a little bit better. This game I would give a 9/10 due to some pacing problems and darker tone of the story with less appealing characters. Definitely recommended this game though.… Expand

    There's a lot to say about this game because there's so many different things that make it enjoyable to different kinds of players. I'll just briefly mention the 3 most important things that just make this game stand out (in my opinion).

    1: The sheer visual quality of the game. This game is beautiful. The quality of the graphics is honestly one of the best out there.     1: The sheer visual quality of the game.
    This game is beautiful. The quality of the graphics is honestly one of the best out there. Its amazing how even running on a PS4 it can push the visual this far (I have the standard PS4, not the Pro). Many times while playing I would just stop and just look at the scenarios, at the way the water changes how skins look, how the plants move dynamically in such a natural way, etc. Everything looks really, really good and really, really real. It's not an open world game, you have specific paths to follow in each part; so the developers were able to focus on every tiny detail of every tiny corner in the game. The characters look phenomenal from a technical standpoint. When I played the first The Last of Us some years ago I was blown away by the visuals, and now, years later, I felt the same again with Part II, even with high expectations. I would pay for this game again if I could play it on a high end PC.

    If you find enjoyment in things simply for their aesthetic value, this game is gonna make you really happy.

    2: Really fun gameplay.
    This game is simply fun. The combat evolved a lot from the first game, but it still feels like playing The Last of Us. Even if you don't care about the story, the game is still very entertaining (even though some cut-scenes might feel a bit too long or boring if you're not here for the story). You have a real sense of risk-versus-reward when choosing how to approach enemies. Resources are scarce like in the first game, and sneaking, distracting and ambushing enemies is extremely rewarding and and at the same time nerve-wrecking. Most of the time while sneaking I was at the edge of my seat, listening to steps and movements, nervously planing each new step, trying not to be seen. But when you fail being quite, the combat just becomes brutal. The fights are really intense, being it a ranged gun fight or a close contact combat. Enemies are smart and sometimes unpredictable, but the human enemies' A.I. can just sometimes be a little dumb, but not to the point where it throws you off, while combating the zombies is pretty much like it was on the first game (with a feel surprising exceptions, no spoiler though). You also have puzzles to solve to get through some parts, but they are not too complicated.

    3: Most importantly, the story.
    The is where this game stands out the most from the first one. Yes, the visuals are a lot better and the gameplay is more fun, but the story is what makes Part II a proper sequel. I feel like this game is a lot more mature, and the path the writers chose to follow with this story is a lot riskier than what we saw in the first game. Riskier, but so well executed. The writing here is so much better crafted than many movies coming from Hollywood. Characters go through real development (especially Joel), while keeping the same traits that made them unique in the first place. The game drags the player into the characters' shoes, and makes us feel the same pain and burden anyone would be subject to feel in such a post apocalyptic world. Loss is real, and so are the small accomplishments from the characters throughout the game. The theme of vengeance is as present and intense as the theme of forgiveness and acceptance, and every character's decisions are organic and relatable in a way that their actions and and motivations make them feel more human than the realistic graphics were able to. Even the parts that are not surprising or unexpected carry a weight that makes them memorable. The simplicity of the very end of the game makes it perfect. All the internal struggles and battles, the plot twists and narratives that were so carefully written, conclude in a simple, yet beautifully executed end. The way I felt finishing this game for the first time was similar to the way I feel when I finish a good book: first, that weird emptiness inside caused from the realization that it's over; second, the sudden appreciation for every single character we got to know so deeply and every single event we experienced with them. Amazing gameplay and graphics don't cause this feeling, only experiencing a good story for the first time can cause it, and this is what makes this game unique.

    This game is brutal, and yet so beautiful. It was the perfect way to end the PS4 generation, and it just blasts my expectations for the PS5 generation through the roof.    … Expand

    Anyone realizes that this has maybe the best graphics of any game ever, The gameplay is something most people are very satisfied with aswell.

    Though the story is controversial. I loved it, it was so original and I never knew what to expect. They made me understand both Abbey's and Ellie's views and side and that was wonderfully done. People who hate it do so because they are emotionally attached to Joel and hate Abbey for that at the beginning, but if you just think about it Ellie and Joel are probably worse people than Abbey. Still I think both of them have flaws and that is what the game tries to tell you.

    Further are the factions in the game set up beautifully and you can, again, feel for all of them. Some of the levels are super exciting, and so memorable, I feel like there is more of that here than in the original. I would say the entire game is even slightly better than the original.

    No one is perfect, and revenge is kind of pointless. That is what this game tells you and it does that well.    … Expand

    I've started this game with some major prologue spoilers, but i still managed to like it soo much, that even now, 2 weeks after finishing the game, i watch playthroughs and think about all it's aspects. 10/10 masterpiece.

    O jogo tem gráficos excelentes, assim como o primeiro teve para sua época. Entretanto, O ponto forte do jogo sempre foi a história, e é nisso que ele peca. Eu simplesmente sentia SONO ao jogar e vontade nenhuma de prosseguir para saber o que aconteceria adiante.

The narrative of a father who lost his daughter, the new relationship he forms with ellie, and the trials they went through in the first game. Ready for the continuation of that story? Then get ready for last of us part 2.....wait what? Joel dies an hour in?.. okay well at least he dies heroically protecting ellie right?...oh he doesn't ...okay at least we get to play as ellie for the whole game right?..no we play as a weird she hulk?...well at least ellie gets to kill her at the end right?...oh well at least the story makes a good point right?......Save yourself 60$ or whatever bargain price its surely at now the game is complete trash… Expand

    I didn't like it, and not only for the ideological propaganda it contains ... it's a shame that developers treat gamers like kids who can be brainwashed with ideological injections by the way.
    I really doubt those 78,621 upvotes are real gamers, this game (gameplay / story / innovation) is average at best.

    Pure trash! Loved the first one! Would give the second one a negative score of I could. When you have a game like The Last of Us and it beloved and one of the greatest video games of all time, and you follow it up with this piece of trash....what were you thinking?     From the beginning until the end, TLOU2 surprised me (and in a good way)! The story was very compelling and emotional. It shows the dark side behind both Ellie and Abby. The world was amazingly beautiful, but also dark and brutal. The gameplay evolves in every way possible, with a large arsenal of weapons and an extensive crafting system. This game is insanely detailed with stunning visuals, it's the most realistic game i have ever seen!

    Except from one scene in the beginning, where a Joel get's killed, I never once found my self really engaged in the story or really wanting to pursue it.

    Best game I've ever played. Incredibly ambitious, thematically brilliant and executed to perfection. Breaks my heart that it's got so much hate, but then I guess the best art is divisive. To anyone at Naughty Dog, I salute you for the sheer ambition and boldness of pulling off this masterpiece.

    I really liked this game. It has awesome graphics, interesting gameplay with realistic stealth an clever AI. Story is one of the best(maybe the best) that i have ever seen. In the beginning I didn't like it, but in the middle it started to be more breathtaking. I think it's one of the most important reason to buy console.

    Not perfect, but still a masterpiece. Don’t let the review bomb put you off to it. You are supposed to hate Ellie’s rival and you are forced to play as Ellie’s rival abbey to understand both sides of the story. It’s storytelling brilliance. If you can love a story without shutting down because there’s lesbian characters, you’re in for one of the best games ever made.

The game was quite good, i know the story is kinda sucks and confusing, but that's not what the real problem that i saw now, all i see people kept being salty over a story like most of these people are more worst than Neil, and they kept calling his rude names like more rude than Neil himself, all of this drama could have been avoided if those youtubers didn't upload leaks and making a various hate content on people that worked hard on this game, i don't want to be participated in these drama but what i have to say is: Story is 7.5/10, gameplay overall 8/10, graphics 8.5/10, the animation including dismemberment i will give it 8,5/10, and for the characters i'll give it around 7/10, so overall the total is: 90 (9).… Expand

But playing as Abby for ten hours was absolutely torturous. Simply put this game is pretty twisted cause they force you play to catch with a dog you end up killing, which to me is **** up. It was a revenge tale but the ending didn’t involve revenge. I loved the first game, and I played through it multiple times. I was gonna play through part 2 a second time, but the thought of playing as steroid chick was unbearable… Expand

    This is a story game, no one's say: yeah this game have nice gameplay and graphics, it doesn't matter what the story would become, i will play in anyway. I think the metacritic score is like this because the story is objective, but bad story like this (as if on purpose because, later than first game story making such a bad story takes a separate skill ) how it can be ignored...

The game play is repetitive but I was okay with grinding it out for these characters I love dearly. I knew Joel would die, there was no way he wouldn't. But when the game throws away your passions for revenge and seeing it through in a vain effort to humanize his murderers by making you play ~15 hours as his murderer and tries to make you care about her and her myriad of friends who's names you barely remember, at that point don't even make the game. It's not bold, it's just sad and I had such a hard time actually continuing to play to the end. And even then after what felt like grinding the ending isn't rewarding at all. They shouldn't have made this game.… Expand

    At least with George, one could argue, he didn’t know what he was ruining for everybody.
    With Neil this is not the case.
    He intentionally destroys everything a fan cared about in the previous game bit by bit, until nothing is left but deep and black emptiness.
    And no, this was not a plot choice, it was a deliberate attempt to send all of the fans a message. A message of hatred.

    Don’t get me wrong. The game is beautifully made. I have never seen such love to detail. The story is extremely well written and the cast is enormous. This is not a question of performance. Objectively it is probably the best game ever made, but the deliberate choice Neil took to destroy something beautiful is something I will never forgive or forget.
    He took everything away from what was once one of my all time favorite worlds.
    I finished TLOU on grounded at least 5 times - yes I was that addicted, to the story, to the gameplay, to the characters.

    But TLOU II is the biggest F**K YOU to a fan I have ever witnessed.
    Neil, Why did you have to take away everything from her? A friend? A father figure? Love? Even the ability to play the guitar? WTF Neil?
    What is wrong with you.
    This is not a valid decision to make a point.
    You could have told the story in so many ways, you could have made the same point, cleat and understandable, but not as devastating as you did.
    It would have been great, it would have been ok, it would have been acceptable.
    But now I had to see a character I learned to love walk away with nothing in her life.
    NOTHING.
    Do you know what it feels like to stand in front of emptiness in the midst of your depression ?
    I do - this is NOT a message you want to make.
    This is not the end of a story you want give, if you actually cared about your audience.

How the **** are you gonna tell me that Joel (an experienced survivor for over 20 years) and is the main character just gets killed of like that. ****in hell. Ela começou a tratar muito mal o Joel mesmo ele fazendo de tudo por ela, coitado morreu igual um otario nem de longe lembra o Joel do primeiro jogo.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
