    My only complaint is the pacing. Brace yourself for a long game with people averaging around 25 to 30 hours. However, this game takes risks in narrative structure usually not seen in video games and Naughty Dog knocks it out of the park. The gameplay is a great improvement from the first game and the world you inhabit feels very well lived in with each character and faction fleshed out. AMy only complaint is the pacing.     Really enjoyed it, wish it didn't get as much hate as it's getting. Some parts annoyed me or bored me but pushing past that I really loved it.

    It's not a sequel that everyone wanted. That part is clear as day. Some of the content I love so much, and some parts I just hate a lot. I think it's hard to give a score with certainty. The new characters are so boring and poorly written, I couldn't care less about them. That part is bad. But the whole concept of vengeance, story structure and even ending is good to me. I think NaughtyIt's not a sequel that everyone wanted. That part is clear as day. Some of the content I love so much, and some parts I just hate a lot. There's no problem for me with the character and the overall arch. It works and make sense.

    On the gameplay side, it's more like everything Naughty Dog has perfected in this generation of console, they bring it on the table then expand it. The combat is fierce, whether you go gun blazing or like me, I prefer stealth, every encounter both with humans or infected will make your heart pounding literally sometimes makes you shook after it.

    I love this game, though I thing that come to mind that this game will feel a bit draggy toward the final hours. Though I get the intent of the developers on why they doing that, I feel that it can be more compact. Anyway, it's 9/10, the game of this generation and a beautiful swan song for PS4.    … Expand

I know this game isn’t everyone’s cup of tea with what happens to Joel and you play as abbey for the second half of the game.but this game is fantastic one of the best stories told in a game the graphics are truly breathtaking when you are going round Seattle in the Game.the gameplay is some of the best I’ve played with you sneaking around stealth killing enemies it can get very tense but if you survive you feel like you accomplish something and it’s very brutal with the kills.Yeah I know some points of the game with abbey are not very good and can drag on but it is so good you get to feel both sides of the story of revenge with ellie and abbey.the ending cutscene where Ellie and Joel talk for the last time is truly heartbreaking because it shows that through all the lies Joel told ellie she wants to try and fix their broken relationship. I would definitely pick this up if you are a PS4 owner… Expand

    Das einzige Manko ist das das Storyende Sehr offen gestaltet wurde und viele Fragen offen lässt. Aber ich vermute das diese Lücken mit einem kleinen dlc abgerundet wird. Die düstere Stimmung am Ende paßt zu the Last of us da die Story düster anfängt schon im ersten Teil und auch im zweiten Teil sich weiter durchzieht.    … Expand

I really feel like after you get over Joel’s death, and let go of it all, you can really start to have some more fun. I’m not completely done with the game, but I have played a major chunk of it. I liked Abby as she was built on as a character, and no, she isn’t some special representation character, she’s just some girl named Abby. At a point in the game, I really just started to feel bad about everything I had done as Ellie, and it really takes you for a bit of a guilt trip. Overall, I do recommend this game to anybody looking for an interesting story, change of characters, and just wanting to have some fun.… Expand

Everyone who rated the game low just because Joel died doesn’t understand the reasoning behind it and lets their emotions take over and causes them to ignore the fact that the writing is wonderful, the game is beautiful, and the gameplay is much more advanced compared to the First title. The only reason i don’t give it a 10 is the first game had an overall better story and was the perfect game.… Expand

    One of my favourite games this generation. Wasn't aware of the leaks going in and went in with an open mind. Would agree there are some pacing issues but didn't distract from the emotional story for me. Highly recommended.

Or people that never watched a trailer and felt 'tricked by the marketing' because they didn't realize they were playing a different character, which 'the marketing' clearly showed.......

    almost 4 days, finally I reached the end. I didn't see any spoiler before I played it by myself, so when I saw Joel's death, the story of Abby's father, Ellie's revenge, I was totally shocked.

    Personally, I can accept the whole story of Part 2, I can understand both Abby and Ellie. Abby's hate of Joel, because of her father's death. Her father was shot by Joel, without any weapon in his hand. Abby can not forgive Joel, her heart was taken by rage, she belived her father is a good man, who wanted to save the world, but killed by Joel. the next few years, she just trained herself, joined wlf, met exboyfriend. All she wanted is revenge, is Joel. you can see, When she killed Joel, she didn't blame Ellie, she gave her life, let her go, that is first time.

    Abby didn't meet someone who really save her souls, until Lev and Yara. After 3days with Lev, and her two best friends were killed by Ellie, she still gave Ellie second chance. Because she konws that feeling, that your heart was taken by RAGE, REVENGGE, and you kill someone who can not hurt you, even you hate that man, he can still be you nightmare all your life. that is different, Abby do have killed so many people, but she can tell herself, on that moment, if she didn't shoot, she might be the dead one. But with Joel, she can't tell herself like that, because joel was under her foot, without any chance to do something. She knew that feeling after Joel, so she didn't do it again to Ellie, twice.

    And Ellie, some people can not accept the choice of Ellie. Did you guts really kill someone？Did you guys really kill someone who have nothing to do with you, and have nothing in her hand when you pointed her with a gun, and be Pregnant？if you did that once, you might understand Ellie. of course, Ellie has killed so many people, but the same, she did that because of defense too. And Joel always taught her to be a good girl, she knews what is right, what is not. And the most important, Ellie didn't have a chance to apologize to Joel. She want to save the world, she know she might be the hope of the world, but Joel made a choice for her, she feels guilty all the time after she knows the turth. she finally forgive Joel, but Joel is dead, she have no chance to say that. And after Mel, Ellie knows if she do it
    again, Abby will be her nightmare too. so she let Abby and Lev go. I can totally feel her struggle and pain.

I love TLOU1 so much, and like all of you, i also expected the same quality After finished part 2, i have to admit that it's not as good as part 1, but it's still a good game. I know most of the people get angry (me either) to watch Joel dies painfully, disrespectfully. But if you stop for a moment and think: IF JOEL DID SOMETHING LIKE THAT TO YOU, WOULD YOU FORGIVE HIM? Abby does what she does to revenge. I love Joel so much, but there's a consequence for his action. And about the ending, i think Ellie did the right thing: FORGIVENESS. I really love that flashback, she forgave Joel. Now she forgive Abby, even what Abby did is unforgivable. If she kill Abby, Lev will come after Ellie, I know he will do it. The cycle of killing must be stopped. And if you notice, Abby and Lev are having the relationship like Joel and Ellie. This game deserve more, please play it till the end.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm not gonna focus on other reviews and i'm just gonna go straight forward and say what i think about the game.
    First of all i want to say that this game is really down to earth in the sense that "there's no heroes", Naughty Dog shows us this early in the game with the death of Joel, giving a sense to the whole game that comes ahead. Sure people have attached to him and his relationship with Ellie on the first one but if you come open minded to this one you will be blown away.
    Then again, the characters that kill him (Abby and her crew) have their side of the story too, which is told marvellously. It kinda makes you with mix feelings about if you want revenge or not, and naughty dog made this very cleverly by making you play as Abby and get a really big connection to her character and the role she plays. Basically what we see here is "there's 2 sides to 1 story" and "there's no heroes", everyone can die at any moment.
    The game is raw, violent and meaningful at the same time for the sake of Ellies revenge.
    In my opinion this game surpasses The Last of Us 1 and it's a masterpiece in a world that you want to live in and explore.
    My complains about it in terms of dialogue is the following: Im ok with lgbt and the gay community, i mean each person is its own person and i think it fits Ellies character to be gay. Although you don't get my 10 because of this simple detail. Not everything is about LGBT. "Ellie plays guitar after Joel dies."
    Dina response: "You should've kissed me back there".
    Ellie enters a store and Dina sees a book about 2 girls being in love "Hey Ellie this could be us".
    Hello? Gay couples should be normal, just like hetero couples, you don't need to throw the LGBT stuff and then make a tragic death about it...
    My point is.... we were on a mourning period and you throw us LGBT dialogues which in my opinion didn't fit the mood in that precise moment.
    I gotta give it a 9 and wish i could give it a 10 but this point really bugged me cuz i wanted to feel the pain of losing Joel, and instead got that annoying character always trying to bang me.
    Other than that and comparing to other games i would say this game is a combination of: Life is Strange, Tomb Raider, Metal Gear Solid and it has of course lots of elements from Uncharted.
    I guess you could not use always the same assets, like chairs and beds and stuff, but with a game that long i guess it couldn't be better. Im waiting for TLOU3 on the PS5 for sure cuz that ending made me want more.
    Good job Naughty Dog.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I think most user reviews are either just ignoring the gameplay etc. of the game out of ignorance or because they haven't actually played it. Despite your feelings on many points in the story (which in my opinion mostly work) the games other aspects do not deserve to be ignored. For example the gameplay which in my opinion includes some of the best stealth in a game since mgs:3 but not just the stealth is great the grittyness of the melee combat feels so satisfying and painful in equal measures and add a dodge button into the mix and it becomes stylish too. The overall look and graphics of the game are the best I have ever seen and really push the PS4 to the limit especially with some of the larger landscapes you explore such as the snowy mountains surrounding Jackson or the collapsed business district of Seattle. As always with The Last of Us the voice acting and Mo-Cap of all the characters is incredible and helps to convey perfectly every emotional beat of the story. I think the whole idea of the story of playing as ellie and murdering all these people who killed Joel mindlessly and then comes back to bite you when you then get to play as Abby and meet all those people who are now supposed to be your friends. I will admit I wasn't the biggest fan of playing as Abby mainly as I was constantly wanting to get to play as Ellie again. However probably some of the best encounters of the game along with a super cool boss fight swayed me too her side. So overall everything about the fame is a masterpiece apart from some of the story points but in my opinion that is a personal opinion.… Expand

The good: ..."wow". Those 3 letters sum it up. Wow at the cinematic direction and narrative. Wow at the graphical and acting execution. Wow at all the technical aspects and game design. Wow at how the game explores subjects (violence, loss, guilt) to the lengths that I don't think were ever explored in video games. Wow how emotionally investing and engaging the story is. Finished the game in a dark room with credits rolling out and an amazing version of Wayfaring Stranger playing in the background, it makes you just sit in that darkness to let it sink in, reflect, try to cool down after a heart gripping ending. Not many games can do this and despite a couple of obvious flaws, this game is a masterpiece in it's own right.

    I was closely following on the hateful critique this game is getting and it is quite shocking what turn it took. Must have started with misunderstood leaks and then escalated like an avalanche with people just copying opinions of others without having their own. It is true the characters went in another direction that most people would like but this is not an RPG. This is a novel. I would rather focus on how the story was told, than whether I agree with the choices. It is true the game is difficult to bear in a sense that it throws endless violence at you, if this is a problem then you probably shouldn't play. Critique about the characters not being themselves seems quite ridiculous... Both Ellie's and Joel's transformations make perfect sense... Ellie because of her age and what she found out after going through so many traumatic events. Joel because how Ellie softened him up and made him trust humanity again. I also just read Polygon's "review" which is often referenced as truthful opposition to the "paid reviewers"" (???). I will just say that the review"" is about 80% personal rant about the message of the game and how the author felt it. One, on many occasions it completely misses the point or is even just plain wrong (part about the characters not developing emotionally). Two, it doesn't focus on other (brilliant) aspects of the game, and there are plenty.

    Rating this game anything below 6-7 is just being dishonest, this is a must play for fans of the first installment or people who love post apo, grim atmosphere & narrative games    … Expand

At times I missed playing as Ellie, but I liked playing as Abby. Started to see her side,but sorry been with my OG girl for 7 years. Immersive game, I can't accept what my fellow gamers are giving it after they say they beat it in a day. It was 20hrs for me and some areas I rushed cuz was too dark haha. Good game well worth 9/10… Expand

I finished the game in about 30 hours playing on hard difficulty with enemies set to survival to get more immerse within the game world. Part 2 not only tries to force the player into different perspectives but forces them into them and the end result while not perfect is still effective in its own right. By the end of the game you realize you didn’t have fun, you had an experience similar to that of real life, things don’t go the way you always want and life isn’t always perfect, it’s brutal and takes its toll. I give the last of us part 2 a 9/10 because while it’s not the first game most loved and saw as a masterpiece back in 2013, it is still an important step in story telling to tell a story people may be too resentful to hear and I believe they did it as best as they could.… Expand

Ellie killed everyone, why should she spare abby? But once you play you feel Abby, you get to know her, you unterstand her, you like her. It‘s a symbol: In the final fight you dont want to hit her, you dont want to kill her. And you did not! Abby lost everything and everyone, Ellie too. You realize that revenge is not the right path. The biggest fear Ellie had was to be alone. And she is.. she lost everything..but the cycle of pain, murder and violence is broken. The little girl Joel found is not the new Ellie. But the distance, the pain Ellie felt with the vaccine revealing is overcome. She loves Joel, and she always did, but now she loves him more than ever. Your dead was not for nothing. You teached your little girl. Thanks Joel!… Expand

    The story will seem awful if you are a fan of the main characters of the first game. But if you like plots where the story is true to the lore of the world built by authors then this will be a masterpiece. It stays true to the post apocalyptic world of the last of us.

    The graphics for the most part seems like next gen visuals.

    The gameplay takes cues from mgs 5 and its pretty varied and intense on higher difficulties. Enemies are very aggressive and don't seem dumb on hard and survivor. However i was able to break the AI twice in the game. Gun play feels very good; gun variety is also present. Skill trees although half of them are meaningless, its a welcome addition for replay value on new game plus to completely level up .

    The game length is also decent clocking around 31 hours on my first play through on hard. New game plus is a welcome addition.

    Game also contains extras like concept art and character models if you like those things.

    Performance on the base ps4 launch version was very impressive with almost no frame rate dips. Encountered frame rate issues once but it was gone once the game was restarted.

    Almost zero bugs in the game. Encountered one buggy shimmy animation in my 60 hours with the game.

My anxiety quickly faded away at the start of the first cut scene. I couldn't believe how immersed in this universe I fell. The graphics, sound design, music and acting all were the best I've seen in 2020.     Outstanding game, definitely one of the best games of this generation. Devs made a huge work. The game looks, plays and feels like a top class product. To be honest I was sceptical about the game before I played it. But after I started playing it I just couldn’t stop. Definitely a must play for all PS4 owners.

    Que te obligue controlar a abby en la pelea en el teatro contra ellie, mínimo tendrías q llevar a ellie y lo mejor seria poder elegir.
    El final en la granja me pareció muy potente, me parece bien que vaya a buscar a abby por todo lo que conllevan las pesadillas y todo pero es mucho rato jugable que creo que te saca un poco de la emoción que tenia el estar en la granja después de todo lo ocurrido, si hubiese sido solo cinemáticas y quizá un poco de pasilleooel combate contra abby estaría mejor en mi opinión.    … Expand

    I enjoyed this game a lot. Not as good as the first, but still a great story that delves deeper into the characters of Joel and Ellie. I think some things could have been handled better, but I don’t understand the hate. Btw I’m not a ‘fanboy’.

    Las mecanicas son realmente buenas, me gusta recordar los enojos que me causaban los enemigos con las nuevas mecanicas que los hacian odiables cuando trazaban distintas tacticas para matarte mas rapido, pueden ser muy impredecibles en varias ocasiones hasta ser un dolor de cabeza, la dificultad esta buena pero los enemigos son bastante faciles de matar, los chasqueadores se volvieron mas molestos que nunca, el sistema de mejora de habilidades me gusto aunque me costo acostumbrarme, a nivel de estabilidad el juego esta muy programado ya que he notado una fluides muy buena y estable, con bajones muy pocos por lo general en pequeños puntos debido a explosiones por lo general, la forma en la cual el juego de te da la libertad de explorar el juego a tu manera desde hacerlo por el camino rapido o ir lento y explorando cada rincon con sus recompensas, los escenarios me gustaron, se le dio mucho uso a Seatle a diferencia del primero, la reutilizacion de ciertos escenarios son obvios debido a la historia, me gustan mucho los pequeños detalles que pueden obsevar, es divertido romper lo vidrios, es interesante la libertad que se tomaron respecto a la duracion del juego.

    The last of us part 2 is bigger than the first one in every single way. The story gets to take a wider scope on this distopian future and gets to explore more creative themes. Part 2 overall is a rollercoaster of emotions. I find myself thinking about the game days after finishing it. This game is a must play if you've played the first one

    Despite its dark themes, I really enjoyed this game. Visuals are stunning and the mechanics have been improved to a point where I was encouraged to use everything in my arsenal during combat encounters, which added to the overall experience.

The only gripe I have with the game is the pacing in the second half but the ending made up for it. As with so many other excellent pieces of media, you do not always get what you want and have to go on your own journey to deal with it.

    On a side note, my PS4 Pro got very loud when HDR was enabled. Apart from that I only encountered two minor bugs throughout my 36 hours of playtime.    … Expand

    Let me say I am so disappointed with the negative reviews .. I believe this game is a masterpiece.
    The lighting is the best I've seen on a console game. physics is brilliant. The gameplay is the best I've played in this genre. The story is different but good. you haven't gotten this game, get it NOW you are missing out. the only reason I give it a 9/10 is because there's no multiplayer for now.

I also really liked the narrative and the story it told, but I think the fact that you play two characters in big chunks affected the pace of the game a little. The only problem we have with this game is false marketing with joel. But developers learned the lesson here.     Al igual que el primero tiene gráficos y banda sonora que para el momento en el que ha salido son perfectos.

    Respecto a la historia es adecuada y coherente, no traicióna a su propio mundo, mantiene la seriedad que la primera parte y que el universo creado pedía introduciendo giros de guión. Puede no gustar a algunos por su complejidad ya que es contada desde el punto de vista de varios personajes y dando algunos saltos temporales par revelar acontecimientos importantes del pasado.

    En definitiva un muy buen juego y sobretodo muy disfrutable.

    El "problema", entre comillas porque no es un problema real, es que introduce un personaje homosexual y otro transgenero provocando indignación en la comunidad. Por dejarlo claro, no tiene que haber ninguna justificación para salir del prototipo de protagonista al que estamos acostumbrados, no hay que justificar que sea trans ni que sea homosexual sino al contrario, demuestra que es necesario que aparezcan más personajes así por la reacción de la comunidad a estos personajes.

    El último punto, el tono de ciertas partes de la aventura, tachadas de tener un tono adolescente, sorpresa: Ellie tiene 19 años, la historia no deja de ser coherente, te guste o no lo historia y te gusten o no los personajes la historia no está hecha con prisa o sin bases,no falta ni un punto de coherencia.

By Naughty Dog’s standards, this has the best animations and graphics I’ve ever since in a game, which helps to really immerse the player into that world and feel the emotions that the actors are conveying. The gameplay while not innovative, improves in every single part of it’s predecessor, always staying fresh with new weapons, and new upgrades for them and your character. The set pieces and the objectives of the story also keeps you on track. And since I mentioned it, let’s talk about the story.
    It’s hard talking about it without going into spoilers but I’ll do my best. Ellie’s descent into pure obsession for revenge is a experience I’ll never forget. Emotional, stressful and tiring, I got so involved that I had to pause sometimes to breath and to assimilate what was happening. You will feel miserable, dirty and left alone in a unforgiving and chaotic world that doesn’t care about its characters. But this doesn’t mean its perfect. The structure the story follows can be messy, with flashbacks and flashbacks in flashbacks that gives a feeling of “dragged on” that in a roughly 30 hours campaign is not good. But you have to go through it all. You have to experience it from beginning to the end. Everything will make sense when the credits roll. All of the hatred the characters feels spills out from the screen and hits you, tears you apart. Like I said before, you will feel tired, stressed and overwhelmed. And that’s the point. This is not a game about love like the first one, which is easy emotion to connect with. This is downward spiral into hate. The gameplay matches that with its grotesque, brutal violence. You feel every hit, every gunshot, every explosion. Everything is intertwined.
    Unfortunately, the game released in a time that hatred and stress is everywhere. BLM, Coronavirus, political crisis. And while the finale of The Last of Us Part 2 ends bleakly, it also ends with a positive message: hate and violence leads to nowhere. Yes, this is not a new message and seems like an obvious one. But remind yourself, we are in 2020 and people kill each other because of their skin color, because of their sex preference, because of their race...

Me parece perfecto que esta exista en los juegos, pero no era necesario que prácticamente todas las minorías estuvieran presentes al mismo tiempo, pues le da un sabor a forzado. El juego es un adelanto a nuestros tiempos, como siempre, y se aleja de las historias tipo Disney en dónde los personajes "buenos" son 100% buenos y además inmortales y en cambio, toma una línea más realista como lo hizo GOT en las series masivas.     I really enjoyed the game. The gameplay is very entertaining and the AI of the enemys in the highest difficulty setting is nearly perfect. The graphics and different landscapes of the game are just stunning and I love the different locations. At first I wasnt very happy about the story of the game but in the end i started to enjoy it.

I wanted a continuation of Joel and Ellie’s story, I wanted more from those two and that was it. Instead we are delved into a much more ambitious dual character story, and one that isn’t as wholesome, even for the apocalyptic hell this game takes place in. This story is one of revenge, that’s how I’ll leave it to avoid spoilers. Some of the choices made by the writers definitely weren’t traditional and there were parts where I wish they were. They also, I feel, let a character die in a less than fitting way, forgetting what what this character knows and has been through. However, that characters death sets the narrative into place and I won’t lie made me the most emotional I’ve ever been from a video game. Ellie of course is at the helm of this story, along with a new character by the name of Abby. Many new characters are introduced in this game and I definitely grew to love a few, Jessie, Manny, Lev and even Abby. Ellie’s girlfriend in this game, Dina, is one that I didn’t quite enjoy. Their chemistry wasn’t nearly as good or authentic as Ellie and Riley from the first games DLC. Even though I may not have liked all the characters I have to say how well performed every single character is by some of the most talented voice actors in the world, especially Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson. Now gameplay in this game is very similar to the first game just with more mechanics and a completely realistic overhaul to nearly every action in the game. Combat is brutal and realistic, traversal and exploration has been turned up, shooting feels heavy and every scenario can be handled in what feels like dozens of ways. More in the comments-… Expand

People who rate this 0 are obviously those who haven’t played/finished the game just so they could hop on the bandwagon. The graphics are amazing and breathtaking! I despise Abby to be honest, but as her story continues I think i’m kinda getting her (still not like her tho) but her story arcs are actually good imo. Loved the Joel/Tommy/Ellie flashbacks plus the bonus content when Ellie sang Take Me On inside the Music Shop (made me cry). The ending feels sorta empty tho like there’s something big missing. But all in all I actually enjoyed it. I call bsh*t on the haters and fanboys **** on this game. Joel’s death was so sad and sudden and unfair but that’s just life. Ending scene where Joel and Ellie was having a talk by the porch made my heart hurt like hell :(( I would play it again now in survival mode! :D Wish me luck!… Expand

The graphics are some of the best and the combat is good step up from the first with the introduction of tall grass, crouching and silencers adding a lot of depth to the game play. At first I didn't like the story and was ready to put the controller down when I realized I was going to play as Abby for half the game.     The only reason I gave an 9 is because I played just first 5 hours of the game otherwise probably I will give a 10. So far is a great game from my perspective, I don’t care about any LGBT **** in the game, I just enjoy the game and period. Beautiful looking and a good story with twists and turns ! If anything, the events in question lent credence to the overarching narrative that would otherwise have been unconvincing and unsustainable in the long run. Characters are well written, extremely well acted, and complex in ways that I’ve personally never experienced before - I spent most of my time not knowing whether I loved them or hated them.. but I was never apathetic towards them - I spent much of the game debating internally as to who’s side I was really on, and I don’t think I ever got a conclusive answer. Bottom line is, I think this one is just as well written and well directed if not more so than the first one.

    As for the rest of the stuff that constitutes a video game, everything is top notch here. The visuals, sound design, gameplay, moment to moment stuff is all some of the best I’ve seen to date. What really impressed me were the animations and how everything in the world reacts to your presence. Characters interact with the world and each other in convincing ways, there’s weight and inertia to your every move which adds to the realism and serves to raise the already lofty stakes even higher. The atmosphere is superb.. Post apocalypse Seattle is gorgeous while simultaneously being oppressive and foreboding. There are moments here that had my heart going faster than even the most accomplished horror games have managed to achieve, and yet I couldn’t help reveling in the glory of what Naughty Dog have created here. So often I found myself stopping dead in my tracks and panning around just to take it all in.

    The gameplay is also first rate here. I will concede that it may not be for everyone, and if you’re looking to play a traditional third person shooter with over the top action then you’ll likely be disappointed. This game moves slowly, forcing you to absorb all the sensory stimulus it throws your way, then kicks it up out of the blue and sends you scrambling for cover. Everything here is deliberate and requires commitment from the player. In short, it is the most natural feeling evolution of the gameplay from the original - it’s more refined, mature and enjoyable, but if you didn’t like it in the original, you likely won’t enjoy it much here.

    All in all, I am so incredibly glad I didn’t buy into the negative hype and avoid this game like I was considering doing at one point shortly after the leaks came out. This is an absolute must for anyone who played and enjoyed the original. At the risk of sounding cheesy (cheeky?), my only real gripe with the game is that it has effectively ruined 98% of all other games for me going forward. I was attempting to play this other game last night shortly after beating the last of us 2, and I couldn’t help but notice the clunkiness of the animations, the texture clipping, the lack of reaction from the environment to my character, and I'm talking about a game that I had played previously and thought was perfectly fine up until I played the last of us. Seriously, just seriously, do NOT listen to the review bombers with political agendas here - you do NOT wanna miss this one.    … Expand

It’s gritty when it needs to be, its colorful at times, and has some amazing set pieces I wish we were in longer. Gameplay: very similar to Part 1 although there are some changes and they’re impactful for stealth, combat and traversal. Combat is violent and gore fueled and it fits the narrative being told her. Story: This is a story about Hatred and having your life be consumed by it. There will be things you do not like and hate. That’s the point. I got so mad at a point I quit playing for a day. That’s okay, you’re feeling the game as you should be. People say the story is simple, and yeah It is a simple story, but that allows for a lot of character growth and depth. I mean LoU part 1 was a simple story and look at the depth of it. So a few things. People say it pushes an agenda. I didn’t feel that at all. Yes there is a lesbian couple. Yeah there is a trans person. The lesbian couple is focused on as that’s a huge character dynamic but it feels organic and not forced specially if you read the journals. The interaction with the Trans character literally goes like... A: hey I’m ..enemy: “hey ... A turns to MC “do you want to talk about that” ... MC “no I don’t care about it” there is one more 2 sentence explanation on it but that’s akin towards tribal law and tribals duties which has major character spoilers so I’ll leave it out. TLDR: I would give this game an 8.5 out of 10. The story has depth to it and is really good and compelling. Although there are some Hangups on it, that I don’t totally like or agree with.     The only small complaints I have with this game, which I also have with the first game, is the way the way it tries to force jump scares. Both this game and the first have a "listening" ability, which outlines creatures, and an ability to throw a bottle or brick to make noise. For whatever reason, the listening ability will frequently not show enemies that are actually there in order for the game to "get you" with a jump scare. These scares feel very cheap and, to stress, this is also the biggest flaw of the first game. If you didn't mind it in the first game, you won't mind it now. Just know, if you're not the best with scary games, that may be an issue.

    Besides that small issue, this is the prettiest game I've ever played with some of the best performances and one of the best stories I've ever consumed. Absolutely recommended.    … Expand

Y aunque el final me dejó con un sabor agridulce en la boca, no me pareció un mal final, aunque en lo personal yo hubiese dejado que el jugador eligiese si matar o no a Abby. El único problema que encuentro es la forma de meter la trama de Abby, pues en lugar de intercalarla con la trama de Ellie como al principio del juego, te la meten entera después de terminar con la historia de Ellie, cosa que no acaba quedando bien. Pero en su conjunto es una secuela bastante digna al primer The Last of Us. Y por mi parte estaré encantado de seguir con la travesía de Ellie en un futuro juego o DLC.… Expand

The gameplay added a few new elements but kept it mostly the same as before, although it was way too often taking on other humans and not nearly enough of taking on the infected. I also would have like more 'no kill' solutions in all the environments (minus boss fights), where you could sneak through completely or kill everyone.

    The graphics were stunning (HDR mode was very nice option) and the new elements keep this game up where it belongs as one of the best of the year.

    The drawback was forcing us to play as Abby .. there were lots of opportunities for her to be redeemable before Lev and even after Lev she wasnt really close to redeemable until she was on the posts at the end. When she only cared about Lev and not revenge.

    Too many new factions introduced and very little story involving them and their motivations. Each of those could have been individual stories, instead they were glimpses and after thoughts.

    This should have been a straight play as Ellie with the early play as Abby all that was needed to get you introduced to the character and setup the rest of the game as revenge for Joel after Ellie had decided to forgive him.

    And for all I read about 'open world', this game is large, but not even close to open world. Each area has one way in and one way out(regardless of how large they are) .. and you generally have to kill everyone or everything to get out.

    I will play again, but I do not love this game the way I loved the first one. It was close, but it could have been game of the decade with a few tweaks.    … Expand

The gameplay is just perfect, the new mechanics make the gameplay one of the greatest of this generation, you will never get bored playing this game. The graphics are AMAZING, the enviroment, the music and the stages makes you feel like you are inside the game.
    The story is in my opinion the worst thing of the game, like a fanboy that I am of Joel and Ellie, this end get me empty inside me and a little disappointed. In spite of the bad end, I like the way how Abby killed Joel. But the thing what bothered me the most is the fact that the game forces you to play with Abby for more of 10 hours, at that point of the game I feel like I was playing a Dlc or something like that.
    I understand that Naughty Dog want you to emphatize with Abby, but I think that they didn't it well.
    I think that the problem is in wanting to get into a new character to emphatize after killed Joel. To sum up, I recommend to everyone to play this masterpiece in spite of the end.

I understand some of the complaints people have with the story but it doesn't deserve the level of hate it's getting, if you give this game a rating lower than 7 that is crazy for me but to each their own. This is a great game in every aspect, loved the gameplay, obviously the graphics and the art design are amazing, the music is perfect and the storytelling is so good it made me feel all kind of emotions and the story makes perfect sense after the event that happened at the end of the first one. The characters are great and complex, i loved Ellie and, after killing Joel i didn't think i would say this but, i loved Abby too and they made me feel for her and understand her motivation.
    The only complaint i have is that the ending is too depressing i would have preferred a more bittersweet ending, showing Ellie reuniting with Dina and JJ, and even tough i liked the last flashback it left me wanting more, like maybe having them play guitar together one last time would have been perfect. So that is why is not a 10/10 for me but it was really close to it and maybe after experiencing the story a second time knowing what happens it could get there.
    I am happy that i was able to experience this game. When i replay the first game killing the doctor at the end is going to feel so different.    … Expand

Uma belo enredo se analisarmos as perspectivas dos personagens jogáveis, se nos colocarmos no lugar de cada personagem jogável e sentirmos as emoções, motivações, razões de cada um demonstraremos a nós mesmos uma perspicácia aguçada e uma experiência que ao longo dos anos vivendo e sobrevivendo se tornou inexorável mas também compassivo. Este jogo como também o Detroit Become Human, sem dúvidas, nos faz refletir sobre nossas escolhas na vida porque afinal são elas que determina nossa índole, ética.

    Em relação a física gráfica do jogo está incrivelmente boa, mas, deixou a desejar quando os personagens se agacham para mexer na mochila, certos momentos eles se agacham na água e a mochila fica submersa. Deixou a desejar também quando o lança chamas é usado nos infectados sendo que há um combate mano a mano entre o companheiro do personagem jogável e o infectado.

Gran jugabilidad muchas cosas nuevas implementadas, excelentes gráficos al tope de la generación, excelente música y hablemos de la historia, es buena pero pudieron hacer ciertas cosas mejores por ejemplo el trayecto que recorre Joel para ser asesinado tuvo muchas conveniencias, tales como la manera de confiar de personas desconocidas, creo que estos detalles los pudieron haber mejorado haciendo que Joel no soltara sus armas y apuntará a Abby y a su gente y les preguntara que hacen ahí, esto le hubiera dado más realismo ya que recordemos que Joel fue cazador y contrabandista por lo que tenía mucha experiencia en estas cosas, la muerte que le dieron no me desagrado sino la forma en que se llegó a esta. Después de ahi todo me gusto, siento que se pasaron un poco con el tema de la inclusión hay muchas personas con diferentes preferencias de género en el juego y esto lo puedes saber si escuchas las conversaciones y lees algunos textos los cuales recojes. No digo que esto sea malo sino que en la realidad no hay mucha gente así, 1 persona de 100 tiene preferencias diferentes y poner tantas le quita realismo. Bueno el juego lo recomiendo un 100%, tienen que jugarlo así sentirán mas empatia con los personajes, habrá momentos fuertes en los cuales se sentirán frustrados, tristes y confundidos por lo que les recomiendo parar, asimilar y luego continuar. No jugarán cualquier juego pues este trata los hechos de una manera muy cruda y realista, si pudiera darle una valoración le pondría un 9.4/10.

After that I liked everything, I feel that they went a little over the issue of inclusion, there are many people with different gender preferences in the game and this you can know if you listen to the conversations and read some texts that you collect. I'm not saying this is bad, but in reality there are not many people like that, 1 person out of 100 has different preferences and putting so many takes away from realism. Well the game I recommend 100%, they have to play it so they will feel more empathy with the characters, there will be strong moments in which they will feel frustrated, sad and confused so I recommend stopping, assimilating and then continuing. They will not play any game because it treats the facts in a very crude and realistic way, if I could give it an evaluation it would put a 9.4 / 10.    … Expand

    Este juego muestra una cruda realidad, si, un personaje legendario puede morir a palos, pero eso es lo que lo hace más real y más humano. Abby también es humana, tenía sus razones es lo que intenta transmitir el juego.

    Ellie decide no acabar su venganza porque iba a intentar perdonar a una persona que literalmente había obligado a la humanidad a escoger un camino pedregoso y accidentado por amor.

    Abby perdono la vida dos veces a Ellie, porque también estaba intentando redimirse. Ellie no debía matar a Abby ya sirvió su venganza matando a sus amigos.

    Lo que quiero decir, es que la vida es así, una puta mierda y es lo que transmite esta historia. Un golpe de dura realidad en la frente, que nos haga caer en la cuenta de que todos somos personas con nuestras motivaciones,errores.
    Que la vida es injusta, muy compleja y que en ocasiones luchamos por causas que provocan más daño que bien.

    Por eso a pesar de algún agujero en el argumento(y alguna parte tediosa) este juego me parece excelente en todos los apartados,innovador, arriesgado. Se aha atrevido a hacer lo que ninguna serie,película,juego no ha querido probar por miedo más que justificado dado lo que le está ocurriendo a este.

    El juego es buenisimo salvo que hay vacios argumentativos en la historia, pero su ambientacion, banda sonora, su jugabilidad me encanto. Es de esos juego que te hacen jugarlo una y otra vez por su gameplay. Me hubiera gustado que te hicieran elejir si querias o ko que Ellie matara a Abby al final, seria ge ial :).

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

    If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
