    After playing thr first game again and then coming to the second it was great to see as Ellie grew and learned to fight like Joel and become a great successor to the beloved character. After the death of Joel I didn't know what to expect but it was a good plot twist as its unexpected. Then, when you play Abby you start off hating her but the more you get to know her side of things and the motivations of her character you really begin to like her. Character development, story, gameplay and graphics are all amazing. Pick it up if you feel like it but if you don't you'd definitely be missing out.    … Expand

Deformaron a los personajes que los fans esperaban ver para servir a un guión mal estructurado. Con Ellie te ves obligado a matar perros, con Abby juegas con perritos, con Ellie te ves obligado a matara una mujer embarazada, con Abby perdona a una mujer embaraza todo hecho para que te agrade un personaje sacado de la nada, la hija perdida de un npc. Joel es transformado de ser un superviviente que duró 24 años sin confiar en nadie, a dejarse rodear por una jauría de extraños y casi darles su combinación de caja fuerte. Todo para que te agrade un personaje que nadie le importa como lo es Abby.

    Recuerdan en TLOU 1 cuando David, el canibal, mató a Ellie a palazos, y luego tuvimos que controlarlo por 10 horas para conocer su triste y hermosa historia? y luego...tuvimos que usarlo para cazar a Joel? no fue hermoso? El final es lamentable, intenta manejar conceptos nihilistas sobre perdón y odio y termina siendo simplemente pretencioso.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I was really trying to give this game the benefit of the doubt. But the story was horrendous. It was like game of thrones season 8 level bad ending.
    It's a 25 hour torture porn misery simulator where you're forced to brutally kill realistic dogs and play out the dumbest revenge plot of all time.
    It's a revenge story where you kill hundreds of people only to let the target of your revenge live because revenge is bad I guess. Then you go try to live a happy ending and decide 'oh wait revenge is good afterall.' Then you get to the target again and decide 'nevermind revenge is still bad.' This game is trash and I hate it. This is coming from someone who loved Last of Us 1. Please don't support this trash game.    … Expand

    Never has a game made me feel so stressed and so uneasy, The best way i can think to describe this game is like the whole process of going on to a roller coaster when you are afraid of heights and have motion sickness like myself. You anxious at the beginning ( waiting in line), you're terrified when you're on it, then your adrenaline is pumping and a bit nauseous afterwards, but you'reNever has a game made me feel so stressed and so uneasy, The best way i can think to describe this game is like the whole process of going on to a roller coaster when you are afraid of heights and have motion sickness like myself.     Como juego es entretenido, aunque llega aburrir después de unas cuantas horas, no sabe como mantener al jugador inmerso en el mundo, y solo te da cambios abruptos de de una escena a otra, dejando al jugador desentonado de las emociones y el ambiente que se ha tomado el tiempo el mismo juego de crear dicha atmósfera... en fin un despropósito, el juego no sabe mantenerse coherente y su narrativa se destruye con la disonancia ludo narrativa del mismo.    … Expand

    The Last of Us 2 is a damn good game in regards to quality gameplay with incredible visuals, animations, sound and accessability options. It unfortunately and occasionally stumbles due to a tired revenge story, poor pacing, and lack of a multiplayer from the original. It's enough to keep it from reaching its true Game of the Year potential that it clearly wants to be at.

    #FireNeilDruckmann! The leaks are true, but the game is even worse than I expected. Paid reviews and false advertising. Things you loved about the first one is gone and replaced with questionable motives and actions. Buy this game at your own risk. You have been warned.

    This game is a nihilistic, extremely badly written and joyless piece of gargabe, and a disgrace to the original The Last of Us. Avoid it. The only reason I do not give it 0 point is because I want to get some credits to the artists, gameplay programmers, level designers, etc.

    In my opinion the best written game so far. Graphics are on the peak of this gen. Also I liked how the story is playing with your feelings. Never seen a game that did this to me. Definitely looking forward for part 3

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Overall i thought the game was ok, but can't say i thoroughly enjoyed the experience or think at this stage i'll replay it. Graphics were amazing, and gameplay was awesome - if not a little repetitive to the end with some encounters. I loved the first game and have played it multiple times; enjoying the dynamic between Joel and Ellie and looking forward to part 2 for years - the story was what made the first game amazing. i felt the story was what really let part 2 down. I got behind it for the first half and the flashbacks of joel and ellie, but really did not enjoy playing the second half. it almost feels like they did too good a job in the first game that after seeing what abby did, i just did not care for her side or empathise towards her at all which is what the writers really had to achieve in order for the player to like the story. it didn't help that overall i thought she was a dislikable person. I feel to achieve a goal that they aimed for you have to have a fair bit of hubris to even think to attempt it, which was a big risk in itself /an amazing character and writing - and overall abby as a character and her story really did not do it for me. With Ellie i spent the first half exploring the world and taking my time, whilst i groaned audibly when i realised id be grinding through abby and her friends story line for half the game, just so i could get back to the story i really cared about - Ellie, dina and Tommy. i literally rushed my way through with Abby just to get back to where the story switched and cheered when half her friends were killed off. I also feel like the final 'epilogue' set after the initial ending was probably not needed. Especially to have Ellie give up on so many good things and make the final decision she made - it made little sense after going on a genocide across America and felt like a waste of time/unsatisfying to me. Guess i may be a little bit more old testament then some. By the end i was just exhausted. 6/10… Expand

    Yes the game is probably not for everyone, it is dark, it is gruelling and it makes some bold choices, but I am not sure what people expected...     This game is the logical next step in the story, I think it would have been highly unrealistic if it had just been a new story with Joel and Ellie off on some new adventure.

    The game is a genuine masterpiece of storytelling, and game development and deserves all the praise and sales it has gotten. Maybe it isn't for everyone and I feel almost sad for people that didn't enjoy as it really is so brilliant, but then there are highly rated games I did not enjoy so each to their own!    … Expand

    Don’t understand ignorant people who HAVENT EVEN PLAYED THE GAME rate this so low because of one or two spoilers. So frustrating. This game is fantastic. Get over yourselves and show some respect to the developers who know the characters way more than you do, and poured their heart and soul into making a provoking story.

It's sad to see that we live in a generation of people so entitled to their own feelings, most people who are rating this game 0 are review bombing for some reason or are just like " this game didn't make me feel like I wanted to feel". What a great generation we live in. I understand that some people don’t like some aspect of the game or the story but to rate this masterpiece a zero is dishonest.
    I don't even need to argue about the graphics animation and gameplay it's one of the best that we’ve ever got period. God of war is the only close contender that I can think of.
    Story wise this game is as honest and real as it can get, it’s not without flaws but it's a bit of really needed fresh air in the superhero era where every story is like " we are the good guys and we need to kill the bad guys". There are no good guys in this story, just humans trying to survive and adapt in a very dark world. Even in the first game after the first tragedy he encounters, Joel becomes this smuggler who used people and killed people who crossed him, but we grew to love him after understanding the kind of world he lives in, after seeing his human side show up again in his relationship with Ellie, and how she changed him. The choice he had to make at the end of the first game was very hard and he choose the most selfish option, which is understandable knowing what he’s been through but still, it's a happy ending for him, not for Ellie who lost the purpose in life that her immunity gave her, not the fireflies, and all of humanity. And that's the whole point of the death of Joel. in a real world you can't have a happy ending at any cost, because the decisions you make are going to come back and hunt you, It’s a real story and just because you love a character doesn’t mean he can condemn all of humanity and go unpunished, and that’s where the brilliance of the second game begins.
    After Joel death, the player is embarked in this emotional journey where in the beginning as Ellie you start to hate the group of people that killed him, I couldn’t wait as a player to kill all of them specially Abby, because I loved Joel and the cruel way in which they killed him, especially after seeing how much he grew to love Ellie, all of the flashbacks, made the grief of losing him as a character even more strong and made you feel the exact same way Ellie felt. Thus all the killing and the obsession about revenge were justified. Until this point the story was very mainstream, an old fashion revenge story and we had a million of those.
    Then we get to Play as Abby, at first I hated it, why would I have to play as the person who killed someone I cared about, but the further I got into her story the more I started to realise that she had as much right to kill Joel as Ellie has the right to kill Abby, she lost her father who was trying to save humanity, and as consequence of Joel decision not to lose Ellie she lost all her world and found herself forced to adapt in a war between two factions and we can see that her and Owen regret what they’ve become for the sake of survival, after that the story puts her in a journey to atone for her sins and regain her humanity, and that’s what Lev and Yara represents to her and why she puts so much importance into saving them , because they are the ones who saved her life when she was dying and they are the ones who are going to save her humanity when she almost lost it. This is where Me as a player stood corrected and felt guilt for hating her without knowing her story . why people hated her part is beyond Me, it’s what made the story special and what made the experience of the game different than any other game I’ve played. That’s the beauty of it it’s supposed to show you how right and wrong are relative to everyone perspective, and not just by telling you so but making you experience the emotions the characters went through.
    Then comes the epilogue in Santa Barbara, this part of the game felt a little bit rushed, it’s understandable because the game was already getting long, maybe they could’ve cut some of the Seattle part to invest more in this. Abby’s and lev’s abduction by the Rattlers added nothing to their story, apart from giving Ellie a reason to feel sorry for them and add a little weight to the decision of letting Abby live which I think they did a poor job at explaining. I understand that she remembered the night she forgave Joel and she understood that’s she’s capable of showing mercy and that’s why she forgave her the same way she forgave Joel but I would’ve loved for Ellie to know Abby’s side of the story, or involve Lev in the decision of mercy but maybe they are letting this for Part 3.
    I salute ND for having the guts to do the right thing, stayed true to the spirit of the world they created, people who don’t like this TLOU2 missed the point of the first game. It was not about two heroes it was about survival in a dark world    … Expand

Everyone hating on this game needs to play it through again, and this time they have to pay more attention to the story, not just Joel's death. Yes, Joel's death was sudden and brutal, but that's just a reflection of the game. They didn't just kill him and then he wasn't in the game anymore, there were flashbacks and the whole plot revolves around him. He is very much present throughout the game. Playing as Abby was kind of like a punch to the gut, for the first part of the game we'd been told to want her dead. But then we see that, really, she's not that bad and not that different from Ellie. That's another astounding part of this game, the way that it shows us time and time again how brutal Ellie is, and how we should technically want her dead too. But we'll never want Ellie dead because... we just wouldn't, and it's something the game does so well, building up our support and love for the protagonists (for example Joel, a very flawed character who we loved) The graphics, well, they were undeniably amazing, the scene where Abby is climbing over Seattle is phenomenal and something I've never seen in a video game before. Seattle itself looks incredible, the Infected are almost too realistic at times, it's all done so well. This game was gut-wrenchingly brutal, it makes you do things you'll hate, not only in the killing sense, but even when someone says "Let's cut through this building," it fills you with dread. More than once I crawled through a dark, abandoned building in silence, breath held for when the clicker would jump out at me, but then nothing happens and I felt stupid for being so apprehensive. Overall, this game was well worth the wait, it hits you in all the right ways and doesn't always heal the wounds it leaves, something I loved about it.… Expand

    So what's the bottom line? Terrible plot submission, parasitic mechanics, a huge deception in advertising from the expectations and the resulting reality.

    Oh, yeah, well, the graphics are beautiful... No, it's worse than the trailers before.

    This game is phenomenal. Gameplay has improved and creates many memorable individual in-game moments. Storytelling from Naughty Dog is unparalleled. I have had very few media experiences similar. A true masterpiece.

    Repetitive gameplay with mechanics that just don't make any sense. Weapons system was taken from BotW, and NaughtyDog decided that was too fun, so they made it even clunkier with no reason thematically or logistically it would fit in the game world. Not as glitchy as you'd expect.

    The game attempts to feel open world, or somehow create the illusion that it's not an interactive movie (Some levels will have a sneaking route AND a kill everyone route), but at the end each solution the developers chose for you is extremely scripted and linear. It taunts you by pretending that you have some agency, but it's just choosing which quasi-QTE you play through.

    The writing is just as bad as everyone else has said. Maybe worse. Druckman wants to be Kojima, but working with his mid-70's IQ score makes you realize just how insufficient he is.    … Expand

    Is fascinating to see how much Abby "the hero" and her team are determined to cross the country in pain to find and make justice on "Joel the great villain" for his past evil action, in the very same way Ellie try to do the same on Abby "the villain".
    This story is pure gold, not only because of the plot, but also because force you to see the two face of a coin, deal with it, and understand there is no pure "good or evil" and that Joel, Abby and Ellie are the same in many ways.    … Expand

Did I think Ellie deserved revenge? **** yeah! And I was stoked to kill everyone that had a hand in Joel's death. Because I loved the character and thought Ellie deserved redemption. I loved playing as Abby and I grew to love the character. At first of course I hated her and didn't like playing as her because of the animosity I had towards her over Joel's death. But after learning who she was from a kid to an adult, from a WLF to rescuing scars to a prisoner, from a violent, evil brute to a loving carer wanting genuine change I grew attached to her. Having to fight Ellie as Abby and vice versa was so intense and upsetting. I loved the way it was done. You can draw lots of parallels between Abby and Joel. Both began as murderous people, killing and doing it well for the prosperity of themselves and those around them. Finding a young person that they grow to love and care for that changes their ethics and goals, leading them to live more open, trusting lives. The difference is you dont get to see what Joel did before Ellie, it's only referenced that he killed innocent people and set traps.

    Also if you're really that bothered by how jacked Abby is (you're probably a misogynist and) it serves a real purpose. Ellie is super petite and you cant play as Joel so you're missing the classic brutal playstyle of TLOU without Abby. She can hold a massive rifle steady, swing a pickaxe without falling over and punch the **** out of people. My only gripe is before the farm, Ellie and Dina's relationship seemed kind of baseless to me. Context was only found in Ellie's teenage journal in the museum. Didn't really like Dina's character and didnt think she deserved Ellie. That did change after seeing them as a domestic couple but i wished i had felt that much earlier in the game. I think if you had read negative reviews of the game before playing (or have some *ahem* prejudices) and are set on disliking the game for those reasons, you have robbed yourself of one of the best gaming experiences ever.    … Expand

    Honestly one of the best games I have ever played only beaten out by the first game. The characters and story are well thought out and the gameplay is better than ever. While some trolls may say the game is bad 95% of them haven’t even played it for themselves. Yet again Naughty Dog has produced a masterpiece and a faithful sequel that is worthy of game of the year.

Вся история тлоу2 вызывает у меня такое отвращение, что даже печально за потраченные деньги и я нисколько не преувеличиваю. Бесцеремонная и тупейшая смерть Джоуэла, от женщины Халка Эбби, которого я полюбил в первой части и ебаная Элли не отомстила даже за него. Автор придумал абсолютно идиотскую сцену с убиением Джоуэла, который был всегда на стороже и вдруг дал себя провести и убить. Разве контрабандист в мире пост-апокалипсиса пошел бы к чужакам в лагерь?     The graphics and environments are phenominal. But unfortunately that is where my enjoyment ended. The writing was laughably bad in my opinion. The narrative and direction felt entirely forced and unnecessary. The game play is slightly improved from the first game but there is not much innovation to be had in general. It's sad for me to say these things because I loved the first game.

I've come to be at peace with the idea that Ellie only came to forgive Joel after doing to others for revenge what Joel did to save her, allowing her to see the error of their ways and to understand how he felt making the decision that he did. I do think this is a good story in that regard, and that this was how a sequel would have had to go, even if it's not the best execution in my opinion. However, the whole thing that made the ending of the first special to me was the inner conflict that you felt knowing that you had done what was undeniably the wrong thing, yet you felt that you could justify it to yourself because the game had developed the relationship between Joel and Ellie so well that you could not help but be happy that they were together. It left a bittersweet feeling in your soul, and Joel's promise to Ellie made you feel a guilt that made it a beautiful ending, not quite a happy one. This game actively destroys that ending by making you wish that Joel had left Ellie to die, so that she wouldn't suffer like she did in part 2.

    I do think they are both amazing stories, but my issues lay with the fact that what makes the second game great is in conflict with what made the first game great, and to me the first one will always be the better half. Part 2 is simply a miserable experience that destroys everything great about the first game, in the name of an admittedly powerful and emotional story. It's just not a sacrifice I think should have been made.    … Expand

    Loved everything in this game except for the messy story and writing. Gameplay, music, graphics, controls, are all perfect. The story is not. There are a few good moments in this story but this game should not exist.

    The story of the game was literally awful. I have looked forward to almost 7 years to able to play part two and I can say that The Last Of Us didn't deserve this. This was an insult to the first game.

    People are hating on this game because of it's controversial moves. Especially ending. But ending of the 1st part was contoversial too. That's what makes this game so speical. It's not about good and bad people. It's complicated and make you think a lot. Especially after ending.

For a simple message, I have not seen anything as silly as killing the most important character in the series. Ellie should have gotten her revenge. Joel died unnecessarily. The man's only problem was to save Ellie. The episode we play with Abby is a waste of time. If part 3 comes, my only wish is to write a story about Ellie's revenge on Abby brutally. I have nothing to say to the technical side of the game, it is a great game.… Expand

The game graphically and playably is a delight if you liked the gameplay of the first last of this you will like why it is improved, if we only told all the factors of the game except the story it would be a remarkable or outstanding game but they have screwed up in the story according to my opinion what is the backbone of the game.

    when abby kills joel you are shocked and in my case I was speechless for a few seconds in disbelief, almost a tear fell it was a hasty death but correct by the way they kill him, as a player of the first I felt the elly's revenge and he was elly during the game why he wanted the same thing he wanted revenge throughout the game you enjoy it has its flaws but they are trifles you enjoy the death of each wolf and halfway through the game when it only remains to kill abby discovers them (in one In my opinion, a little absurd way, why does Elly forget the map in the last place where she killed, so to speak, an objective of revenge and Abby finds everything indicated where they have gone and where they are but my question is who the hell does she put where she lives in a map with a giant circle) after discovering them kill jesse and there increases your desire for revenge. You go to play with abby but throughout the whole stretch of the game you play the only thing I enjoyed was seeing the disasters and deaths what we have caused in the game when we were playing with elly and making abby suffer and seeing the ways how she dies for me not his story interests me what I want is to kill you why you have killed my father (Joel) and my friend (jesse) and at one point he shoots abby at Tommy (leaves him lame and blind) but the worst thing that you fight with abby against elly (a one of the things that I enjoy the most is how elly killed abby when he played) abby wins and spares elly's life you keep on wanting revenge but they don't give it to you you're pissed off as a player but you say to be frustrated but it's over but they don't make a ellipsis of a couple of months elly appears living with his girlfriend on a farm comes tommy tells him where this abby they give you the hope of a revenge what are you going to fulfill the initiation to abby they capture a group and have her crucified on the beach Elly saves them fight in e he walk elly loses a couple of fingers on the way with the fight with abby but he spares elly abby's life after that elly returns to the farm his girlfriend has not left her and he starts playing the guitar elly but he can't because he A few fingers are missing what is one of the things that Joel taught him and he loses it to me which has shown me that the venzanga works for some and nothing for others.

    I don’t usually take my time to write a proper review, but seeing this hate bandwagon made me realize there are a lot of people who have nothing to do in life so they **** on art they don’t enjoy (which is fine if they don’t like), but that’s not the case for most people giving 0’s to this game a couple of hours after the game came out (the game, I reiterate, is about 18-30h long.

    But moving on to my honest opinion about this game in particular: I think the characters really stood out to me. As in any Naughty Dog game, this one is also very character-driven. Ultimately, this is a story about revenge, hate, and violence, but also about redemption and forgiveness. Yes, I agree that this theme has been heavily used in every entertainment medium, but they rarely do it justice. I can happily say that The Last Of Us Part II has not did justice to the theme itself, but also did stay true to the world, the character development, and the hidden symbology behind this perfectly crafted cyclic narrative (which I will not spoil, but it has to do with the ending itself). All the narrative beats fit perfectly with each other, and it always brings other elements of surprise, right when you think you know what to expect for the ending, another story beat hits you in the face and changes your perspective. Also, you should never go to part II expecting the same thing you experienced in part I. Although that same feeling can be felt through other types of relationships, and some perfect flashbacks, the first one is very different from the second one. Lastly, I just want to say that I think this game will not only define how we all experience video games in the future, but also define how they are engineered, thought, and its story will be discussed and debated for many years to come, just like we did for the first one.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
