    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. When I played TLOU part one, I kept thinking, what a tragedy that even when the world ends, we still find reasons to kill one another. During part two I kept thinking how pointless revenge is, that it destroys you as much as it does them.

    In both games, a person's inability to let go has devastating consequences - Joel dooms the world because he can't bear to lose another 'baby girl'. Ellie burns everything good remaining in her life to avenge the traumatic death of Joel.

    A lot of people have left bad reviews here because they rejected that death - and this is exactly the point of it. We can reject that death, we can demand a rewrite of a story. But Ellie can't. Because for her, this story is real life, and you can't rewrite life when it doesn't suit you. Thus, we feel her trauma deeply ourselves - how dare they make this happen to olur beloved Joel?

    But does that mean the story is bad? No, I don;t think so, on the contrary.

    First of all, let's face it, of COURSE Joels actions at the end of part one would have consequences, who really doubted this? I so dearly wished Joel had survived, but I can't deny the simple truth: he had it coming.

    TLOU2 drives this home in a masterful way, by switching perspective to the bad guys halfway through. Seen from the perspective of Abby, Joel is the bad guy. We learn that Abby has been affected by the death of her father in much the same way Ellie was by Joel's. We learn that even Abby's friends were shocked by how she killed Joel; and as we see Ellie's actions from the other side, we get the uncomfortable feeling that maybe Ellie is the bad guy here. Once she did to Nora what she did, she basically became Abby. And if we can empathize with Ellie at that point, we should be able to empathize with Abby too.

    Ellie as the bad guy. That is a hard pill to swallow, and a lot of the bad reviews reflect this. But again, that was the point - Ellie lost her way. And even though at the last moment she spared Abby, pulled back from the brink, and saved her soul, it is a pyrrhic victory, because she lost everything else.

    I don't think the bad reviews here are being fair to TLOU2. For me, the story worked. I was dismayed by what happened, but I compeltely accepted it. And I did empathize with Abby. The ending of TLOU1 was ambiguous; here the entire story is. Who is the good guy here? Who is the bad guy?

    Don't let the bad reviews discourage you - this game is a masterpiece.    … Expand

    This is a really well crafted game But the story Ending is complete stupid.
    Story starts quite amazing but the ending sucks.
    The Graphics are Unbelievably good.
    Game play is same as old.
    overall its a good game and must play.

The gameplay had very welcomed improvements sure as being a to go prone and jumping as well not have make shives every two seconds. The story took you on an emotional ride. I was little off took when you played as Abby for the second half of the game. Tho it help flushed out her motivations for killing Joel at the beginning of game and gave her good character arc. At the end of the game I liked both Ellie, and Abby and didn’t want either one to die. I look forward to seeing if they make a part 3… Expand

    Really enjoyed the game it. Story was great, ending seemed a bit pointless. Not a fan of the combat and loot system. As it basically forces one way to play each fight (sneak) which gets boring. However the game is one of the best looking games i've played. Don't listen to reviews play the game its worth the money in my opinion.

    Pretty shame the reviewers who give this game a 0. The story did in fact shift gears, but its still great. I was always looking foward for what comes next, addicting script and very unexpected. Thats what makes it great. The grame has a huge impact on the consumer and the more sensitive might rage with bad reviews, but its unfair and unrealistic. The sound is perfect makes your heart ratePretty shame the reviewers who give this game a 0. The story did in fact shift gears, but its still great. El juego en trama sinceramente admito que me parecio mejor que el 1, te hace sentir demasiadas y distintas emociones a lo largo de toda la historia, y el trasfondo de los personajes es tremendo, te hace pensar mucho sobre el perdon y la venganza, y todas las consecuencias que conlleva la misma, simplemente hablo de la historia porque en lo que respecta al gameplay, es bue ni si mo. Muchos diran que el 1 es mejor en historia y demas, es entendible cada cual con su opinion pero NADIE dira que el gameplay es malo.     Graphics are simply great. Nothing more to say to it. The gameplay is amazing. There was no getting used to playing the game. It felt like picking up where I left off. In fact, it is even improved a bit.

    Reviewing the story will require giving some spoilers but before that, if you want to play this game just play it. Don’t fall into somebody else’s idea who thinks negative attitude and comments would make them popular. Now I am quite sure most people who gave 0 to this game never played the game or does not actually have any opinion of their own and copied and pasted somebody else’s idea. (Most. Some may have really hated. Can't argue that.) Rating something 0 just reflects hatred rather than a review anyway. Just because you don’t like something doesn’t necessarily make it bad. People worked hard for this. You may very well dislike it, just have some respect and write what you disliked about it. Rating 0 and commenting “OMG SO BAD” is not a review really.

    Some claimed the story was bad and I can respect that. The storytelling is unorthodox to say the least. You can’t expect everyone to like that. But I don’t think it’s fair to compare it with the first game. This is a new game, not a DLC. Personally, I liked it and below is my opinion about it.

    SPOILERS AHEAD!

    Yes, at first, I disliked playing as Abby, but in the end, I liked that I disliked it. Keep in mind that the story is supposed to be unpleasant and you are meant to dislike some characters. (Including the ones you knew from the first game) It felt like that was the point. What violence, vengeance, and hatred cost a person and how would they leave an effect. You would not really like a person who is consumed by vengeance and hatred. In movies or games, you may find them impressive or cool in a way, but you would not like them. At least I wouldn’t. I mean yeah Darth Vader is amazing, but who would like him in person? (I meant Vader, not Anakin. Please don’t get into that.) “You may dispense with the pleasantries!” Oh come on!

    The only downfall was Joel. Kill him the way he dies, at that time, at that place and exactly like that, but please don’t get him going in there voluntarily. I mean this guy was supposed to even mistrust his shadow let alone go into a lodge full of strangers. Especially after what he did. He is smarter than that. The Joel we knew from the first game would leave a stranger (in this case Abby) to be killed by the infected rather than getting involved and putting himself at risk.

    This is a story of “revenge”, which begins with Abby who lost all her friends because of it, then leaps to Ellie who was left broken because of it and Tommy who also ended up obsessed and alone because of it, fills players with the same rage and desire for a revenge but lefts them with the same feeling these characters ended up with: disappointment.

    Yeah, it was unpleasant, but that seems like the goal here. So, I consider it a success.    … Expand

Dentro de mi experiencia en esta entrega, puedo decir que el guión es alucinante, el gameplay es increible pero tiene detalles por mejorar, la clave en esto es la forma en la que tomas el juego y su historia. Una historia de venganza, perdón, excusas, razones buenas o malas para hacer lo que se tenga qué hacer, se trata de tener empatía con los personajes y caer en cuenta que ninguna de las historias (Ellie y Abby) es buena o mala, ambas llevadas por la venganza y miles de situaciones más, sin embargo, puedo decir que a menos de que este juego no lo tomes como una historia con altos y bajos, una historia llena de emotividad y reflexión, no creo que veas todo lo hermoso que tiene esta historia y el juego. Queda a la interpretación de cada consumidor y considero que se volvió un juego como "o lo amas o lo odias". No es perfecto, pero valió cada maldito año de espera.… Expand

The story is amazing, I get if what happens isn't what people want and admitting I didn't like the story in the beginning it does pick up and it made me like the beginning better. Please don't judge the game by the user reviews. I would say this game has more shock factor and is so graphic.     This game is real good. With realistic animations, with nice graphic and with nice gameplay which is similar with the first part. I don't want to say something about plot... it's real good. This plot gave me calm, funny, cute, sad moment. I recommend this game, even if there is bad mark on metacritic. I'm not agree with the other people, because this game is real good

    I love the first game. Especially the ending made you question your position in the story, and who you really are. In the Last of us Part 2, this happens all the time. The story is real and believable, and both Abby and Ellie have a reason to hate each other. Quant aux combats de boss, je n'ai jamais été autant partagé sur l'issue des affrontements.
    J’applaudis la prise de risque sur l'histoire racontée et je félicite les développeurs pour le travail rendu. Cette suite est digne du premier opus mais demandera un certain travail sur soi pour les personnes les moins ouvertes d'esprit. Je l'attendais avec impatience et je ne suis pas déçu.

    Strong captivating story that shows both sides. Emotionally painful and wholesome moments in balance with horribly gruesome post apocalyptic moments. This game is not what I expected it to be, but Naughty Dog did one hell of a job playing with my emotions in all the good and bad ways!

    Naughty Dog have created a well crafted world filled with great characters and story lines. The graphics and attention to detail they have achieved on a console should be commended. You simply won't find a better looking game this generation. Soundtrack is also a highlight.

A lot of people are hating on this game because of the story but that is only because they refuse to look at things from a different perspective than what they want to.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Reading some of these negative reviews amazes me. They're all nonsense. The game was released on the 19th and there are a bunch of reviews slamming the game that day, uninformed opinions.
    Gameplay is improved, the ability for stealth, the interaction with the scenes.
    Once again they've created a beautiful and atmospheric world with some really nice touches and attention to detail.
    The build up to climax of the intro is amazing, really well put together and it did a great job of getting me invested in the rest of plot to want to enact revenge.
    The rest of the game was great too, immersive as expected and some real good scares at certain points. It's definitely scarier in parts than the last one.
    As for character development the plot and story is very very good at shifting your perspective on how you feel about the characters. At times forcing you to go against your will and work against what you really want, but it pays off and makes you empathise really well with all parties.
    The ending is great too, ties things off nicely, but it's also quite melancholy. There's a real sense of loss that you feel on behalf of the character which given all that they've been through is understandable. The fact that naughty dog can make you feel that is a credit to their team.
    Highly recommended. I've not read a single convincing negative review here.
    The only thing I'd have liked, would have to been to also play Tommys days in Seattle.
    I'm hoping for some add-ons later down the line with that content and perhaps with journeys to Seattle.    … Expand

It seems like everyone would like a game similar to TLOU1. Personally, i think the story is great. As of the story, I get why the people are upset about it, but I think that you need to finish the game in order to understand the direction of the writing. To me, it was an incredible trip along Ellie and Abby. In the end, you sympathize with Abby as much as you sympathize with Ellie. It's all about vengeance and how that never ending wheel must be stopped. It's about redemption and the DUALITY that these 2 women represent. Loved the game.… Expand

    I for one find this game really special because of how personal the experience it gave me was to me, the environmental storytelling is sublime (as it is with most Naughty Dog titles). There are some genuinely beautiful moments that make you wish for the serenity to last before you are thrown back into the vicious and unforgiving road to revenge. The gameplay hasn't really evolved too heavily from the first game other than a few interesting additions, I personally didn't have a problem with it but the lack of innovation may bore you at some points. Before I wrap up the positive section I would just like to gush over how much I want to marry the graphics and art direction of this game, oh boy, you really have to see for yourself.

    Here comes the bit that you butthurt gamerboys are looking for - the negatives. No matter which side you are on, we can unanimously all agree that the execution of the narrative and general writing here is abysmal. At certain points, some of the dialogue between characters is janky and out of place and there is a 10-hour section of this game that is unnecessary and just made me want to throw my character off a cliff and watch her scream as she plummets to her death ( I had much fun with this).

    This is my personal opinion but I really do love this game, and as you were probably wondering earlier, yes - I love Marmite too. I don't love it despite its flaws, I love it because it's flaws has made the game so decisive and controversial (and you all know I'm here for the drama.) Jokes aside this game is truly beautiful, and to develop your own opinion you really do have to play it for yourself. Also please don't listen to the reviews that say "0, jjkjksjksjsksjksskj" because I'm pretty sure its either spam or clickers bashing a keyboard.    … Expand

When asked about a sequel to the game in 2013, Neil was truthful and said it would be difficult to make a sequel to the story at the height of the first game. Yes, the sequel may not have involved us as in the first game, but I confess that after finishing the game, I amFrom my point of view, The last of us 1 was and will continue to be the best game, which best involved us emotionally. When asked about a sequel to the game in 2013, Neil was truthful and said it would be difficult to make a sequel to the story at the height of the first game. Yes, the sequel may not have involved us as in the first game, but I confess that after finishing the game, I am still shocked and thoughtful about the characters and their destinies due to their desire for revenge. The ND message was sent and interpreted by the fans, and everyone understands how they want it. The game is technically impeccable, graphics, sound, gameplay, characters. If the first one scored 10, it certainly deserves 9.5 and every penny spent on this beautiful work by ND. Thanks ND for another trip of emotion and feelings, best game of the PS4 generation without a doubt.

For those of you who are criticising the game for "characters or character development" are literally only doing so because ellie is gay and abby is a well built woman and your average players, usually men don't like the idea of that. As well as people moaning that ellie can now jump, swim etc. Did you expect her to remain a 14yr old girl who can't do any of that?
    As for the story and plot, naughty dog released a statement literally telling you, you may not like it because we're not just writing a story of vengeance. We are making you feel different emotions and whether or not who is in the right, who's in the wrong etc. They've gotten some real backstory into it and they and are using everyday ideas to put into a game. They are trying to not only make it a game but to put real-life consequences into it and think is this right or wrong? It truly is a masterpiece written. As for the ending, i am not 100% the biggest fan because I feel it leaves you a bit lost. Your not sure where ellie goes from there l? Will she get her happy ending after all, what happens to abby does she go to the fireflies does she even make it off the island? But to be honest I think its honestly an amazing game! It’s mainly a story for hate and revenge, it sent me on a rollercoaster of emotions (hate, sad, happy, sympathy) and it feels like this part of the game hasn’t changed as I felt emotionally connected to all the characters.

    Character progression/weapon mods - it takes the original concepts and builds on them. There are more to your arsenal than you may think. In the first game, I never really used smoke grenades but here I’ve used everything in both Ellie’s and Abby’s arsenal (both characters are playable). I also like the fact their arsenal reflects them as characters, with Abby being more the militant character she gets more solider like abilities, Ellie is a scavenger and her arsenal and abilities reflect this. Level design - each level and encounter has multiple paths to take down enemies silently, this is found a very welcoming change. It built on the last of us where there maybe only one or two paths to take down enemies or the infected silently, here I think I could take 4 maybe 5 but if you alerted someone there was always somewhere to run and hide till the heat dies down. The level design and detail is fantastic you can appreciate the hard work naughty dog have done here. Characters - there are a host of new characters here. Their dialogue is well written, well acted and their individual personalities shine through very early on.

    Conclusion - This game definitely builds on the last, it takes its core and builds on it. The story is fantastic and well written, but DO NOT expect a pretty story and is very dark at times. The whole controversy of LBGTQ stuff never really bothered me at all it’s not thrown in your face. Just because a character is of that sexual orientation doesn’t mean they’ve done it because they’re trying to highlight an issue, it’s just the characters personality. Ellie is more masculine than female and being of her sexual orientation only highlights this. Despite the praise I have given TLOU part 2, there are some little negatives that I’d like to highlight. At time’s the Abby story does drag on a little too long for my liking, this doesn’t however mean I don’t like the character cause I do. I just feel one of the areas we have to get out of just drags a little but the level design it’s self is very well crafted and executed. The only other negative is sometimes the back story of the two characters jumps a little all of the place. They’re well written and a joy to play but sometimes it didn’t quite make sense to have a teenage years scene when it happened. For me it’s a must play, if you can oversee some of the negativity it’s been harshly given and take it for what it is then you’ll massively enjoy it. If you wanna get amazing game-play and cool graphics, you just have to try this game. In general, plot is okay but it might be better. Not better than first part.

    Now, when it comes to the story... It's a very tough experience. The story is cruel, sad and angry. Does that make it bad? No. I still love the story and I love the characters. Each decision made by each character is completely justified and you can understand why they do what they do. Each character gets what they deserve in the end, even if it's not pretty or doesn't seem completely fair at first. If you really think about it, the ending is perfect. Does that mean it's an ending that leaves you with a smile on your face and feeling proud of what you've done? No. Because there's nothing to be proud of when it comes to revenge and violence. But everything the characters have done is completely understandable.

    The only reason why I've given this game a 9 instead of a 10 is the way they present the story. I won't say it's confusing because I was never really lost, but it's true that they jump around in the game timeline a lot, and sometimes it's annoying. Also, I feel like there's some characters you don't get attached to (Jesse, Yara and Abby's group) and sometimes the game treats these characters as if they were important somehow. Just because you're with them for a couple of minutes, that doesn't mean you get attached to them. I think they did well with Lev and Abby, but I just couldn't care about the others I mentioned. But it might be just me that needs more time to get attached to characters.

    The rest was amazing. Great experience, makes you question everything you do, and makes you hate some decisions the character make, even if you understand them. This game makes you realize that revenge will only bring more pain and loss.    … Expand

IMHO in final part of the game (when Ellie fights against Abby) there should be more flashbacks of Ellie killing Abby's friends to show how vain they were. That would clearly show why she didn't kill her. Because violence is making more violence. That is exactly what game about. Abby's friends and Abby herself are not monsters, they also have families, feelings etc and i clearly felt that. But there should be more emphasis on that. This game made me think about how important forgiveness is and how pointless is blind revenge. Anyway, I really enjoyed this game so much! However, it's a bloody zombie apocalypse. No one is safe from anyone. Even though the story broke my heart I still think it is an amazing story, and I wouldn't feel the way I do if it wasnt. I just wish it was concluded in a more rewarding way. The gameplay oh the gameplay. Its amazing, just like the 1st which is what I was hoping for....but miles better.

    The game design and environment art is on point and the best I have ever seen in a game, this will look the dog's on PS5.

    After the first play through I felt drained, sad and still I wanted more.

    Well done Neil and everyone at ND for not making a lovey dovey game and sticking to the genre and building on the main character in this franchisewhich is the world. I am really gutted you guys are having to deal with this horrible backlash.

    I just wanted to add that I think it is amazing how many of you finished the game on the 19th and 20th June, and gave such poor reviews with no mention of how short the story and game was. Joking aside you should get in contact with Anthony Caliber and give him a heads up on some of the routes and tricks you used to to finish the whole game so quickly.

    9/10 from me. I hope there will be a Part 3. Fingers crossed. If not Factions and maybe story DLC and some more trophies to chase?    … Expand

    If the game just was not as divisive as it is, I probably would give it a 10. If my interpretation of the story was correct, then there clearly has to be issues with the storytelling as people dont get invested in it and find it bad. I reeeaally liked this game and disagree that it has a bad story, but I can at the same time really get why people dont like it. And I am not blaming the player for "not getting" the story, as there are so many that hate it. Something has clearly gone wrong in the storytelling.

    In a perfect world I probably would have got another game that matches up more with the first one in certain story ways, but I am not mad with the one we got.

    Does it compare to the first one?
    No. Because it is a COMPLETELY different story. So stop acting like its going to be a continuation of that original story arc. Because it is not. And you will be disappointed if that's what you think this is.

    That said, MAN it was a journey. A complete emotional rollercoaster. But stick with it, even if you don't want to.
    I went from:-
    -Hate
    -Bleak depressed
    -To LOVING the game
    (And a bit controversial, liking all the characters, even Abby)
    The game makes you question hate. It makes you examine hate. It makes you look at hate square in the eyes and demonstrates that it achieves nothing but destruction and chaos. Nobody wins with hate. In fact you can stand to lose everything.

    Game play:-
    Graphics are truly amazing. The scenery is outstanding. The facial expressions on the characters pull you in. The infected are WAY more cunning. And I officially HATE stalkers. Shamblers, just burn them to death, but stalkers -! Maaaann I hated those.

    The physical controlling of the characters is good as well. I dropped prone SO much. And the fact you can craft whilst being prone is a nice touch too. I am not the slickest player, when it comes to combat. So I ran away alot! But whilst engaging in combat situations, the mechanics felt smooth and the flow was good.

    I also liked the fact that you couldn't one shot kill the clickers/runners with a molotov anymore. They leapt back from the flames rather than stupidly running into them. Although a half burnt clicker is very disturbing to stealth kill.....

    There is SO much to explore. When I first started playing I felt overwhelmed with the scope of play. And the fact that I was truly terrified of the infected, and the new evolution versions, made me reluctant to enter buildings a bit. So a second play through is needed. FOR SURE.

    I also reached the point where trying to gun my way through everyone was exhausting. So stealth and sneaking past people was the way ahead for me. Tricky, and some close calls, but i managed. In order to explore fully next time, I will possibly have to go scorched earth policy. But then it will be for exploration, rather than story line.

    Controversy:-
    Abby is NOT trans. Lev IS trans.
    Unless Abby has managed to find a stash of hormone pills, she MAGICALLY doesn't have a beard, or a deep voice, or an Adams apple. It is actually possible for women to work out to such an extent that they develop pecs and lose their breasts. She is determined to take Joel out, and therefore has trained accordingly.
    Ellie has always been gay. We see this in the DLC left behind. This should not have been a surprise to anyone at all. And If you were going on a journey, you would also take your SO with you.

    In summary:-
    Yes this is a good game. But it is NOT a feel good game. The whole point of the first game was to deliver the cure for mankind to the fireflies. To save the world. And then suddenly, Joel couldn't do it. (Can I also point out that no one woke Ellie up to ASK her opinion) but by saving Ellie, he condemns the world.
    This installment, gets us to look at that, and how the world has divided itself in order to make sense or survive. This is a story about hate and revenge. And it MAKES you look at ALL sides of the argument. Ellie, Wolf or Seraphite. It is not an easy pill to swallow. And there are some actions you do NOT want to take. But ultimately you complete this section of the journey. Which leaves the end feeling, short.

    Because, and this is to anyone else whose finished it, doesn't it feel like #TheLastofUsPart2 is the middle book in the series & we're waiting on the final installment? So come on Naughty Dog...

    The Last of Us world is not a fairy tale. Part II is about hate and forgiveness from both sides of the story.
    It may not be the story you want I get it.
    It's not what you want that makes it good or bad. It's all the work that is involved in it.
    The voice actiing, the sound/music, the details, everything that each individual spent their time working on it made it a game worth playing.
    I feel sad I do. For both sides. In the end I would like to see what comes next.
    Is Ellie ok? Did Abby found the fireflies?
    I hope they deliver a DLC even with all this drama.

The gameplay feels very similar to the original game, with some minor improvements with new mechanics and enhanced enemy AI. It is clear that the game is being bombarded with negative critics, by people that have not played the game or did play it but rushed through it. I got to be honest, I was disappointed when I first finished the game, I went in expecting a continuation of Joel and Ellie's story and instead got Ellie and Abby's story. I decided to give it a second try and it made me realize this game is a lot better than people make it out to be.

    It is hard to make the "antagonist" of the game likeable, but ND pulled it off IMO showing Abby's side. It could have been better planned, by maybe showing Abby's side BEFORE killing Joel. Also, I believe Joel's death was more than deserved, he got his comeuppance for his actions in the first game. I was extremely sad when it did happen, but I can see why Abby did it and I would have done the same thing if I was on her shoes.

    Ellie's side of the story was my favorite part of the game, specially the flashbacks. Dina is a great character that compliments Ellie pretty well. I'm just sad we didn't get to know Jessie better: The WLF and the Seraphites are great factions and I believe that they even surpass the Fireflies from the first game. The ending was bittersweet to say the least, as I was left stunned for the rest of the credits, twice. It leaves the door open for a possible third game, this time about redemption and peace.

    The gameplay is better compared to the first game and the graphics are top notch, almost next-gen like. Music and sound are stellar as usual.

    I highly recommend to play this game without seeing any of the trailers, as they will trick you into thinking the game is about Joel and Ellie when it isn't.

    With everything being said, I believe this game is a step behind from the masterpiece that the first game was. The plot could've been executed better, but you gotta give ND credit for trying something new with a beloved franchise like TLOU is.

I absolutely adored the first game, played it through countless times and watched endless play throughs, and became entirely attached to Ellie and Joel’s characters. In this game we unfortunately [spoiler] see Joel get his head caved in by a woman named Abby as Ellie is forced to watch, this scene made me feel sick and I sobbed. Immediately I HATED Abby. However that’s what ND wants, they want us to hate her for killing such a loved character in gaming...
    Ellie then sets out on her revenge mission and in my opinion the story telling is phenomenal. There is a part where [spoiler] Ellie has to torture a woman named Nora in order to find Abby, as she returns to base she’s in bits, shaking, trembling, traumatised, and I have to say that’s one of the first times I’ve seen someone in a video game react in a normal way after having to torture someone     … Expand

    First of all let me start by saying that I read about the leaks and was expecting to be disappointed.

    This wasn't the case however. Naughty dog made a couple of very bold choices regarding the direction of of the story and, for the most part, I would say that they worked out.     From a gameplay perfective its alright. Pretty much the same gameplay from the last game with a few added mechanics. If you liked it last time you will like this time.

You were able to build sympathy with each of the characters. All in all, they all try to survive. They all have scars. And to what end does revenge help that? I thought it was a brilliant and long lasting game with balanced gameplay. However, It became a little too generic in terms of the gameplay. I would have loved a bit more diversity in skills and combat moves.… Expand

    The Last of Us Part. II, is a show, with beautiful graphics “even on ps4 fat” and a very fluid and challenging gameplay. A remarkable story that brings different conflicting feelings. It may not please everyone, it requires a lot of maturity and leaves a bitter taste in us, but certainly a unique, adult game that should be played by everyone if possible.

    The story is absolutely is the most immersive experience I've found in a game since the first Last Of Us title. This is why I think content creators are giving poor reviews of the game while still the vast majority of players who play it in its entirety love it.

    While I in no way think think that content creators opinions are obsolete, I do believe that the level of immersion obtained whilst entertaining an audience whilst playing yourself can and will take away from that immersion. Their viewers take that opinion and take it here where they are consistently rating it a 0/10 which is extremely unrepresentative of the game visuals acting and audio alone.

    This game is meant to be experienced personally, so play the game in its entirety alone without spoiling yourself and I truly believe the game will surprise you.

    I find the story isn’t compelling enough to justify its existence, so much so to the point where they sacrifice one of the beloved characters for very little return. Overall, the first game has much better pacing and it’s just too difficult to outdo such masterpiece.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I just completed the game for the first time on the 2nd hardest difficulty and I honestly loved it. I idolized and praised the first game, playing it over and over again numerous times. Honestly one of my favorite games of all times and this game shares a similar feeling to me. Obviously no game is perfect, and this game had a few things that I wasn’t the biggest fan of. I know most of the hate revolves around the characters and plot, and this is where my biggest complaint comes in; I thought that the extraneous play time of Abby (a newly introduced character) was a bit of a nuisance and took away from the tone before the shift in characters

    I’m not against her completely or what she stands for in the game. She’s a driving force of the plot and, forced or not, I believe she pushes the game in a very interesting direction. What I’m not a fan of was the player being forced to take her perspective for such a long period of time. I think the game was clearly trying to make the player sympathize with her, but that seems like an impossible task based upon what she did in the first few hours of the game. Her flashback sequences just feel pointless and like wasted gameplay potential. I understand how hard it is to create new complex characters, but I feel like the relationship between Joel and Ellie is what made the first game as amazing as it was, and trying to recreate similar relationships by destroying the old just didn’t seem to work in the same way. I just wished we developed Ellie’s relationships with her friends in place of Abby. I think maybe filling the gap that left with Joel would have been an interesting turn. I understand that the intentions of the game was to mingle with the ideas of violence and payback, so the way they went is understood, maybe just executed in the wrong way? But then again, I’m not a writer or professional critic, so I’m sure many things go over my head

    I would like to state again that I loved the game. The characters were still well done and the game flowed nicely besides the extended break between the end of Ellie’s Seattle story and the end of Abby’s. There is so much to love here and I hope people realize that soon

    Overall I still enjoyed it thoroughly and don’t think it deserves all the hate it gets. The cinematics, score and gameplay made for a really emotional and enjoyable experience. I definitely jumped at points, got sad at points and got angry at points. For a survival horror game that focuses on the relationships between people, I thought it was still well done with the few potential missteps with new characters and plot.    … Expand

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
