    The Game is just so dam incredible, the people who have rated 0 or rated it low are delusional and quite clearly 1)Have not actually played the game through and 2) are quite clearly homophobic(as their comments suggest) and all they want do is hate on the game they don’t care what anyone says.     I've played through the entire game, and frankly I don't know what the fuss is all about. I found that the story wasn't as bad as people were making it out to be, it's accessable for both veterans and new comers alike. The visuals, voice acting and soundtracks are phenomenal. The only problem which is more of a nitpick is that the controls can be a bit clunky at times.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Only problem I had was the story execution. After the intro scene, Naughty Dog should have shown Joel's hospital rampage from Abby's perspective. Then you play as Abby until she gets split up from Owen, then it switches to Ellie waking up.

    For those of you unsure whether to play this game or not, just try it and form your own opinion. This game is great, if you loved the gameplay in part 1, you'll love it in part 2. The music, sound design, graphics, everything is top notch and it's stuff that Naughty Dog has been one of if not the best at since the PS3 generation.

    The story, well a lot of people are saying the story has plot holes. There are no plot holes. People are saying that it dumbs down characters, it dosen't do that either. The Abby hate is ridiculous and pretty silly considering that Joel killed her dad. However the story falls apart right there for a lot of people once Abby kills Joel. It falls apart to the point that when you play as Abby and see things from her point of few, people refuse to want to emphatize with her and a lot of people disconnect from the game entirely. If you can't emphasize with Abby and see things from her point of view, then you're not going to enjoy this story. If you see Ellie and Abby's conflict as a sinple protagonist/antagonist story, you won't enjoy it. None of these characters are villians or heroes, they're morally grey characters that have tragically gotten caught up in a cycle of violence and revenge.

    This story points out the bias, we the players, have for Joel and Ellie. Joel is not a hero, he's done some terrible things in his life and not all of them were in self defense. He also decided to sacrifice humanity's chance for a cure, and lied to Ellie about it. With all of these things known, people still refuse to understand why Abby does what she does. They still wish Joel's death would have been heroic, or that he wouldn't have died at all. Why? There are no heroic deaths in the world of the last of us, and a heroic death shouldn't be given to a man that's not a hero.

    People don't want to try and understand that Joel had this coming. If your loved one was killed, you would want revenge, so why can't you understand Abby's motivations? Players can't let go of the memory of Joel, just like Abby couldn't let go of her father's death and how Ellie can't let go of Joel's.

    Abby and Ellie have valid reasons to get revenge, but because both of them took that path, their lives and the lives of the people around them ended up worse.

    The ending has gotten hate, once again due to people not understanding why Ellie didn't kill Abby. Ellie didn't kill Abby because Ellie realized what she was becoming. The whole game Ellie struggles with forgiveness and holds grudges. She held grudges against Seth, Joel and against the WLF. And as Ellie held that critical grudge against Abby and the WLF and sought revenge, she started to turn into a monster. Torturing Nora, killing Mel, certain things Ellie would not normally do, she did in pursuit of revenge. Her revenge got Jesse killed, Tommy's own need for revenge left him blinded and at the end of the game is marriage was fractured. Ellie pushed for revenge and lost Dina. So all this buildup, all of that anger, exhausted her and she finally realized, killing Abby would not bring back Joel. And finally it seems that at the end of the game, Ellie was ready to move on.

    If Joel could move on and leave Ellie to her faith, he wouldn't have died at Abby's hand. If Abby had moved on, she wouldn't have lost all her friends. If Ellie moved on, Jesse would be alive and she would be with Dina. No one could move on and stop the cycle of violence and revenge, until finally at the end Ellie chose not to kill Abby.

    This story is dark, it's depressing and it hurts, it did something to me that no other game has done to besides Halo Reach and Red Dead Redemption, it made me cry. And Tlou 2 was the first game that made me truly feel bad for what these characters were going through, and it gave me vivid dreams about them.

    Play this game, it's fantastic and the story is too, but you have to open your mind, and truly try and understand the motivations of these characters.    … Expand

    Well... i think this game is a masterpiece.I can understand all the people who didnt like this game but man this games main idea is on point.     This sequel really improved on the clanky mechanics of the first and it feels to be a much more fluid gaming experience. The quality of the narrative is at the heart of this franchise, and I was disappointed with some of the deaths in the game, but this isn't a game for the weak of heart. I enjoyed playing this game and look forward to the various adaptations planned.

    This review is really quick because all I’ll say is that the game was great. It’s really expanded the story of the previous game. This post is made for those reviews bombing the game and just to let you know that what your doing is completely useless and a waste of time on every ones part and that your using it to justify bigotry and hate. I also felt like the player spends too much time is Abby. I enjoyed playing as her, but I found my self wanting to jump back in as Ellie. That being said, this game is amazing. The game play is solid and the visuals are stunning - even on my base PS4. I wasn't upset with the ending like some people were. This is a great swan song to end a generation.… Expand

    Opinião Pessoal Depois de ler algumas barbaridades sobre o jogo neste site e de alguns reviewers.. Preciso de deixar aqui os meus 2 cents.
    Dou uma avaliação de 9/10 pois para mim o jogo tem algumas falhas. Alguns bugs que podem ter impacto na jogabilidade e outros nem tanto que se tornam visuais. Mas isto é algo que temos de ter em atenção no lançamento de um jogo com este tamanho, já o Days Gone apresentou os mesmos problemas que em futuras patchs foram melhorados. Por isso aqui nesta situação sei que poderá acontecer o mesmo.
    Voltando ao jogo. Naughty Dog u did it again. Meu Deus.. Que jogo!! Graficamente a puxar pela ps4 pro ao limite, simplesmente belo. Desde o ambiente dos campos, montanhas e das cidades destruídas, aos pequenos pormenores de um carro a ser consumido pela natureza, dos animais a vaguear os cenários ou da luz do sol a iluminar as paisagens magníficas que nos deparamos. Graficamente este jogo está uma masterpiece, noto em alguns momentos frame drop, algo que já me habituei nos jogos da ps4 e espero que a ps5 resolva isso, algumas sequências de ação abrandam o ritmo do jogo devido aos frame drop, nada de mais, mas sente-se.
    Os movimentos das personagens estão a roçar a realidade, algo que a naughty dog já nos habituou dos jogos antigos., a captura de movimentos dão uma sensação de realidade fantástica.
    O som está lá.. Não encontro nada que me faça falar negativamente, desde a banda sonora, as falas, aos efeitos de um planeta devastado, aos inimigos, armas, tudo está lá.. Muito bom. AGORA o motivo de tantas revisões negativas, a história. Eu acho que o foco principal de The last of us 2 é a história.. E aqui ao começar nada contra, mas conforme se avança, nota-se um bocado de desorganização no contar da mesma, por vezes fiquei confuso com o que estava a acontecer, perguntando se me falhou algo que não me dava a resposta ao que ia acontecendo, não é que a história esteja má, acho que está mal contada e os eventos acontecem de forma errada que nós leva a um final que deixa a desejar.
    Não quero dar muitos spoilers, pois prefiro falar aquilo que senti a jogar este magnífico jogo. Acredito que as más reviews vêm do facto de acontecerem coisas no jogo que deixaram os fans desapontados com o rumo e destino de algumas personagens, com a situação "gay" que se vive no jogo, e na era em que se vive isso é ridículo.
    As más reviews são para ignorar, estamos perante um dos jogos mais bem feitos de 2020 e dos últimos anos.

    Sorry Xbox fans.. Don't judge the game and don't review it negative if you guys are jealous.. Perfection, masterpiece of game. Get a Playstation 4    … Expand

    This game has amazing graphics, great story telling, great acting, suspense and I always tell how good a game is when it gives me goosebumps and this game did it on several occasions. I have been honest and given it a 9 as the controls are pretty much exactly the same as before so a bit of variance would have been nice. While I think the story in the original was a bit better, I like how Naughty Dog took a few risks with this game. Splitting it in half and experiencing the game from Abby's perspective made me question everything I did as Ellie in the first half. It made an otherwise by the numbers revenge story more profound and really made you think about the repercussions of your actions. The events of this game are a direct response to Joel's actions at the end of part 1, and while I'm said he had to die it did make sense.

    The gameplay itself is a step up from its predecessor, even if it can be a bit janky at times. Otherwise a phenomenal game.

    Don't listen to the people trashing this game. The overwhelming majority of them are either angry that Joel died and didn't bother to keep playing long enough for the explanation, or pathetic little keyboard warriors who aren't happy that Ellie is gay. It makes no difference to me or the outcome of the story. If you don't like the game its fine, just have a good reason rather than spouting some triggered bull.    … Expand

Without a reason to leave Jackson, there is no story for Ellie. Nothing short of what happened to Joel is would have made Ellie leave Jackson. I'm not surprised people are being idiots about judging the story and some of the choices the devs made. People can't handle true tragedy and difficult experiences happening in their video games. They want fun, action, happy endings, etc. I'm sorry, but in this post apocalyptic world, this stuff is going to happen. I commend... I absolutely ADORE... Naughty Dog for not holding anything back with these subjects.… Expand

    Gaming community is full of morons. This isn’t a bad game, period. Perfect in every way? Definitely not but it’s no 0 out of 10 as this community claims it to be. If you can let yourself go into this game with an open mind and push through until the literal end I guarantee you’ll have something to think about, positive or negative but this game will be on your mind.

When the E3 2018 trailer for this game came out and showed Ellie and Dina kissing, there was a small yet vocal part of the gaming community upset over this game, because they believed there was an "agenda." Very reminiscent of the Gamers Rise Up group (GRU for short) Some of these people in the GRU were the same ones upset about Nadine from Uncharted 4, they thought Naughty Dog was pushing an agenda because in their mind a woman can't beat a man in hand-to-hand combat, even if she is the leader of a mercenary group.

    The written leaks (which are all fake with the exception of Joel dying) had everybody in an uproar. These people claimed to be upset about the game, and didn't want to buy the game because they thought the story was bad, which is a clear lie. As evident by the many people that made videos, comments and twitter posts about the leaks, they were upset only for 2 things: the death of Joel and the (false) leak that claimed Abby was a transgender that you play as during the last half of the game to hunt down and kill Ellie.

    Once GRU got called out for trashing a game for frivolous reasons, they tried to switch up and pretend it was the crunch culture of Naughty Dog that upset them. Many more false rumors came out, about Naughty Dog not paying their employees, and Anita Sarkeesian helping with the game. There were also false rumors about how Neil forced other people out. There has been no proof to back up any of these rumors. As for GRU being upset at Naughty Dog's crunch culture, it's quite clear these people didn't give a damn about that, considering that they sent hate and death threats towards the same people they claimed to feel bad for. Notice how GRU hasn't mentioned the crunch culture at Naughty Dog since April. They hated a game that wasn't even out yet for garbage reasons and tried to pivot.

    Channels got striked for showing leaked footage and GRU, insistent on seeing this game fail, pivoted towards that being the reason why they hated the game. Another pivot. This angry minority of people in the gaming community began to go on a crusade for months, spoiling the game for other people, sending death threats to people at Naughty Dog, harassing the voice actors and shouting out some pretty vile things towards gay people and transgender people.

    The reviews come out and GRU called the ones with early copies, shills. They claimed they were on Sony's payroll and wouldn't say anything bad about their games, which is the dumbest thing I ever heard considering the ones that got early copies have been critical towards Sony exclusives multiple times in the past. GRU clinged on to the reviewers that didn't enjoy the game, and used that as more fuel that they were right about the game. Keep in mind, the full game still isnt even out.

    This game hasn't even been out a full day and it has more user reviews than The Last of Us does, and that game has been out for 7 years. Most of the user reviews are giving this game a straight up 0 out of 10, or a 4 out of 10, and their comments are filled with bs. You can clearly tell in these comments that these people have not played the game, or even seen a walkthrough of the game because they parrot comments from reviewers that were critical on the game, or they get info about the game blatantly wrong. I don't know how anyone can value user reviews after seeing this game is clearly being reviewed bombed by a group of people who have believed since 2016, that Naughty Dog is pushing an agenda.

    This game is easily the best game I've played all year, will that remain the case after Ghost of Tsushima and Cyperpunk comes out? Idk, but right now it's easily the game of the year. Everything about this game is perfect, I enjoyed the story, but the story is not a perfect. I feel like they could have executed some things a little better, specifically when it comes to Abby. I think after the initial cutscene with Joel giving Ellie the guitar, it should have showed Joel's rampage through the hospital from Abby's point of view. Then hop into Abby getting split up from Owen and then you switch to playing as Ellie.

    For those of you who have legit concerns and are trying to gauge whether or not to like this game, don't listen to the people spouting hate and writing the game off as having nothing good going for it. But don't listen to the people calling it a perfect game either, because it's not. If you liked the gameplay of the 1st one, you're gonna like the gameplay in this one. And I feel like even if you dont like the story (for legitimate reasons, not because you think an agenda is being pushed) the gameplay will make up for it.    … Expand

    Loved the 1st game, really got me on the PlayStation game train. Game play kinda carries over, not too different from the 1st in terms of play. The graphics utilized in this game is also very well done; environments feel very swallowed by nature now compared to when you play the 1st one. Voice overs are still carried over with all the past cast seems like. The story is kinda hmmmmm initialLoved the 1st game, really got me on the PlayStation game train. Game play kinda carries over, not too different from the 1st in terms of play. The graphics utilized in this game is also very well done; environments feel very swallowed by nature now compared to when you play the 1st one. Voice overs are still carried over with all the past cast seems like. The story is kinda hmmmmm initial hours are pretty crazy and will have you sad, maybe. I was sad. From what I've played so far its not exactly a game you have to drop or anything you can play to at least see what Ellie does towards the end.

    Re: EDIT - Ok there were some extra gameplay options in the game to make this into a journalist mode i guess. AND IT IS F"n HILARIOUS instantly changed my experience from a 4 due to story to a 9 for the hilarious play and realization that some people are that abysmally bad at playing games. Truly revolutionary trash puzzles and easy difficulties. But honestly after finding out the extra options it changed my play 180.    … Expand

This game is a challenging, depressing, thought-provoking piece of art. I can't say that I enjoyed it, which is frankly incredibly high praise. This game is not meant to be redeeming or to make you feel good, but that doesn't mean it is bad.

    Gameplay: Part 2 has improved gameplay in every way from the first game while keeping the core mechanics that made it great in the first place.

    Graphics: I think even the folks who have given low reviews can agree that this game looks heck'n incredible.

    Story: This game was a tumultuous experience in the best way. Frankly, I need a couple of hours to talk through and process it. I did not "enjoy" playing it, which is why I loved it. It is uncompromising in its message and direct in its intent.

    Final thoughts: This is a well-crafted game with a complex story. I want to challenge those who did not feel satisfied (and frankly those who did) to engage in discussion about this work as we process the things it made us feel and the ideas we were presented with. I also want to challenge all of us to think about the differences between our personal feelings of a game vs the objective craftsmanship of a world and the stories that take place in it before jumping on a negative review train.     The Last of Us Part 2 takes everything that was great about the first game and expands on it. The combat is pretty much identical, but there are some new puzzle mechanics to shake up the slow exploration sections. The story is still fairly generic, but the characters and dialogue is so well written that it is very easy to get immersed in the world.

    Si es cierto que hay huecos argumentales y cosas sin sentido dentro de la historia creo que naughty dog hizo un excelente trabajo.
    No merecen el hate que muchos usuarios le están dando. En fin el juego me encantó.

    Un juego técnicamente increíble que se disfruta en cada minuto, que te permite ser creativo al momento de cada enfrentamiento, y que así como en su mayoria es de acción por momentos te tensiona en gran manera, gráficamente es un deleite, cuenta con una historia que si bien es controversial y peca un poco en su modo de manejar los personajes logra de alguna manera atrapar, te pone a pensarUn juego técnicamente increíble que se disfruta en cada minuto, que te permite ser creativo al momento de cada enfrentamiento, y que así como en su mayoria es de acción por momentos te tensiona en gran manera, gráficamente es un deleite, cuenta con una historia que si bien es controversial y peca un poco en su modo de manejar los personajes logra de alguna manera atrapar, te pone a pensar y te lo gozas pero deja pidiendo más, mucho más..     I think this game accomplished exactly what it set out to do. The gameplay feels so good. Almost every kill made me squirm in my seat. I genuinely cared for every character, even the ones I thought I never would. My one criticism would be that the pacing of the game feels a little off.     It is a masterpiece that I feel most are incapable of appreciating at this time. The only agenda I saw was one of the destructive nature of hate, bigotry, and revenge. Love it or hate it; it is deserving of at least one play through. It’s not the game some wanted but the one we all needed.

    Back to the game. At the moment there are to many LGBT things going on.
    I don't care about Elie beeing a lesbian, I think it's kinda cool.
    Gameplay is in my opinion okay, there could be some changes like more weapons variety or alternativ routes to get to a better position.
    I love how the dialogs are written it's could be an ordinary conversation. The design of the world is fking great. The character desgings are also fantastic, never saw so much realism in a game on a console. I love the expression of their faces and the the npcs are never useless, they're doing a great job in my opinion. Okay sometimes there are some tiny bugs, but don't care about them, I paid 60 euros for that game. I played it over 20 hours, so it's 3 Euro for a hour and I am totally okay with that. Sad thing is, the Elli part is to short, they could've expand the story about her revenge a little bit more.



    Now. I had alot of fun with this game, but I can totally understand the rage from the community.
    But I had a great time with this game, honestly

    I will always remember the **** dialoges between Elli and Joel, there are not bad written but they are funny bad, cus of cringe and I love that. The last if us part II isnt a game for everyone, u need to be more open to alot of things, ofc there are some strange facts about this game, but I had alot of fun with it and I know, alot of people won't read this post. But I needed to share my experiences with other people.
    It's in my opinion a solid 7.5/10 so it gets 8 points from me.

    Everyone should watch a let's play of this game to get a own view on things. U should always remember, there are 2 sides of a medal. Same for this game, Abby was ad about her father, Elli was sad about Joel, there is no difference between those characters (ok, muscles maybe, Abby is a bit to "muscular" but I can totally relate to that, because she is in a **** military base and not like Elli in a small village)    … Expand

Of course, there are reviews 2 hours after release that say the game is terrible, even though they havent played it. After Joel's death, it left me in a limbo feeling. Exploring Seattle was basically an introduction to Dina and Ellie and their relationship. The roles are similar to the first game, where Joel used to tell Ellie stories and Ellie use jokes to lighten the mood, it's now Dina doing that for Ellie and Ellie is giving some background about Joels and Tommys history. In my opinion, Joel's death should have been delayed to a midpoint in the game and not in the beginning, which I believe is why most people are upset about. For they don't want to play as Ellie. Rolling back to what I said about the leaks, it's as if this is happening all over again like it did with game of thrones. The game of thrones situation is a bit different, game of thrones' story continued on without a blueprint, but this game is made by the original story teller. I don't think there would be much of a circlejerk about hating this game if the big scenes in the game was experiencd by people playing it, like a twitch streamer or youtubber. I know I'm gonna receive critic from people I know that hate this game for no reason, but I liked it. I mean what are they to say they do not play solo games anyway.     They show us that there is not always a villain, in this case, there is only a cycle of hatred and revenge, which brings more and more pain to the characters. Tommy, Ellie and Abby lose people who care a lot because of this cycle of hatred. The game shows us that there may be another way, when Ellie, who seemed to see the similarity between Abby's relationship with Lev and herself with Joel, spares the girl.

During combat, the enemies respond to your choices organically and realistically.

    This is a game that Naughty Dog put a LOT of effort into. And I’m sorry it you “didn’t get what you wanted.” But.

    L'unica cosa cose che non mi ha convinto per quanto riguarda la narrazione è l'escamotage narrativo utilizzato da naughty dog per rendere lo scontro finale tra abby e Ellie alla pari, ovvero quello di far rapire abby dalle serpi.
    Riguardo al gameplay possiamo dire che c'è stato un sufficente rinnovamento. Giusto quel che basta per essere soddisfatti. Credo che basti questo per renderlo uno dei migliori e più divertenti gameplay che abbia mai provato, anche grazie all'ottima IA.
    Vogliamo poi parlare del comparto tecnico?
    Qui naughty dog si è superata, anche se ovviamente non essendo un open world è più semplice realizzare delle animazioni facciali così tanto elaborate e realistiche e un mondo di gioco così bello e affascinante.
    Uno dei principali problemi che non fa secondo me raggiungere l'eccellenza a tlou 2 sono i bug. Potrebbe tranquillamente essere un caso ma devo dire che i bug, almeno nella mia run, sono stati parecchi. C'è da dire però che i bug non sono quasi mai invalidanti, anzi spesso fanno più un gioco è serio e profondo, più quando accadono dei bug risultano divertenti. Ultima cosa: credo che assegnare uno 0, un 1 o un 2 sia assolutamente scandaloso. In più le critiche riguardavano tutte la trama, ma se si giudica un gioco in modo oggettivo non si può da fan di Joel del primo capitolo essere indignati per la sua morte e assegnare uno zero, solo perché la trama vi ha fatto schifo.
    In conclusione:
    Gioco maestoso, incredibilmente avvincente, divertente, profondo.
    Contro:
    Gameplay poco rinnovato

    I got a early copy and played the hell out of this game. Honestly this game is pretty great and I was a mega fan of the first game and played it over hundreds of times. Alot of people thing the first one is the masterpiece of story telling but it really isn't its just delivered well. The story is about the consequences of vengeance and how anger affects people. It's a fun game, really brutal and dark story, but it's really great. I think people just need to grow up. The story is fine its good. People saying you need to play as Abby as a child with like 10 hours of back story obviously never played the first last of us because they didn't do that with Joel and his story came across well with his actions.     solid game, a lot of fun, most of these "reviews" however need to be deleted and future 'reviews' made by angry neck beard man-children over being forced to deal with the fact lgbt folks exist even in video games need to be banned from posting since they have shown that they are incapable of being mature and are just review bombing this game.

    Idk why people ppl don't like this game so much. First of all, I'm a white straight male who hates this new propaganda trend in games, but in TLOU2 I don't see this etchings that much. Ofc, in the beginning couple of moments were meh, and Abby being on steroids is kinda weird but that's it. Ellie was lesbian in the dlc for the first part already. I played for 8 hrs now, got to the end ofIdk why people ppl don't like this game so much. The game has to be played after 1st part, because there has to be an emotional connection to Ellie, Joel and Tommy to understand what they're going through. It might be not the greatest plan of action from naughty dog but for me personally this only enhances the story of the second part. Overall, I love it, I grade it 9 only because I still haven't felt that chemistry between the duo as in 1st part… Expand

    Yes. That game has a lesbians. BUT! No one trying to understand - it soundly by the first part and not interfering feelings from the second part. There's no LGBT only for LGBT. And I'm really sorry that so little and slightly thing can force people drop the rates of wonderful game. (((

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
