Characters make this game, it always has. Joel’s grumpy, yet wise character contrasted really well with Ellie’s wide-eyed childlike wonder. Given that Joel perished in the first 30 minutes of playing, he is replaced by a plethora of new companions to Ellie, and new characters in alt-stories. Abby, Dina, Tommy, Jesse, etc. While they are all fun in their own way, they don’t have a good enough personality in contrast to Ellie, to carry a meaningful relationship to the player. They are all just bland, and derivative of many other characters in other games. Despite this major problem, The Last of Us Part II is fun, with a multitude of environments and a emphasis on exploration. But still a linear story to keep control of the player. It is also incredibly well designed. With all-new mechanics, collectibles and enemies to gawk at, just as I did. You may just be in for the story, or the collectibles, or even just trying this out. You will find this game offers many hours of fun for you all.

It’s really good. I avoided most of the discussion surrounding the story once it leaked so I could experience it on my own and I have to say, I don’t understand what everyone’s upset about. I get that people don’t want politics shoehorned into their games, but if it doesn’t affect the gameplay what does it matter? Aside from the mention of a “bigot-sandwich” in the very beginning, the romance flows quite well with the story. And the story is good on it’s own. Honestly, I don’t get what the fuss is about. The only downside to the game is that, aside from a few new features, the game is functionally identical to the first one, which is great if you enjoy the first one like I do, but still disappointing when compared to the “gameplay footage” shown at E3 a few years ago. The game is good. If you like the first one you’ll like this one, well worth the money I spent on it. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I get people are mad about some choices in the story, but negatively bombing the reviews on Metacritic is just silly. Why give the game a 1 out of 10, while the game is great! It looks stunning, combat is great and responsive, I love the way you get extra skills and unlock more branches as you go by finding books and exploring the map is just plain fun. The only thing I dislike is your follower standing in the way sometimes. I think I’ve played around 6 hours now. 90% of reviews were made without even playing the game. People are just too stupid to get their own opinion about it, so they board the easy hype train and write a negative review without playing it at all. Well, play it yourself to find out if you like it or not. Don’t just negatively review something you haven’t even laid your hands on yet! Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game is superb! Stop listening to these kids giving a rating based mostly on the leaks. Yes, Ellie is gay (so what?), that chick who killed Joel has muscles (so what?), the game is very brutal and graphic (that's why the 18+ rating), and yes the story is not as strong as the first one but it's a great story still. I actually liked the Abby gameplay and story, especially the second part of it.
Btw, Abby is not trans. In the flashbacks, she is the daughter of the doctor that was supposed to extract the cure from Ellie. This proves once again the people just want this game to fail based on their beliefs and other crap.
For me, Part 2 is a worthy sequel and the story got me emotionally invested.
To explain my rating, I am giving the gameplay and technical stuff a 10 and the story an 8.5. If you are a mature and reasonable person you will like this game a lot!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I Can't understand why this game is getting user bombed so hard. With 4 times more reviews than the first one ever got, you just know it's wrong.

The game is great. I'm not a reviewer but wanted to offer my 10 cents into whatever is happening here. The story is bleak, often very harrowing and sometimes hard to go through. I have been loving the small element of exploration too.

When Joel died I can't say I was expecting it (as naive as I am) to happen so soon. It sets up a great story and playing as Abby too made it more difficult for me to side with anyone. It didn't take me long to realise that there are no real heroes or villains in the game, just life and death. I highly recommend playing this before reading anything that deliberate trollers have to say,. Yeah the game might not be for everyone but there is not a game in the world that deserves the lowest score.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'll start with the two easy categories that I shouldn't need to explain... Spoilers ahead. Sound: 10/10. Best of PS4 IMO
Graphics: 10/10. Best of PS4 IMO

Now for the controversial aspects... Gameplay: 9/10

A lot of you talk about how this only had minor improvements over TLOU1. I ask you, nay plead with you, to watch Voyager's TLOU2 brutal combat video. If you are good at the game and tweak the settings to your liking, you can have a hell of a good time every minute of combat. Do it. Your jaw will drop. Story: 8/10
I actually really loved this emotional roller coaster ride. Yes, even the ending. Certain points in the story will make you upset, and that was the director's intention. You are supposed to be mad. I don't mind Joel getting done dirty. He massacred the fireflies... it's only reasonable that they would have their revenge at the first opportunity and it not need to be built-up. That's not how life works, people. Stuff just happens that we wish didn't happen in life and I like the game's brutal reminder of that. I'm docking the story one point because I don't quite buy Joel stating his name to business. Maybe if the game showed his five years in a safe town (even older now) as a means to soften his character, then maybe... But they should have given us more to fuel that logic. I've docked it another full point for two reasons in one: because there definitely was a bit of pandering. I don't mind inclusion at all! Some stuff was just too on-the-nose for my liking. I'm not actually referring to Abby, but Lev's arc. I actually did like Abby. She grew on me! She's very easy to initially view as ugly--- inside and out - - - (her hatred conveyed through her expressions... I'm not talking about her resting physical appearance). Also the sex scene wasn't necessary simply because I doubt they'd have made such a scene with a more... "conventionally attractive" person. It kind of felt like they were saying "Look at this! You SHOULD think this is beautiful.". I don't know what else to say besides it just felt forced. I got over it, though. I was considering docking this section a third point because I was having a hard time buying that Ellie would leave after killing Mel and Owen. But then I thought about it... she was in shock and traumatized after crossing such a huge moral line, regardless of intention. But then as we found out, Abby wasn't there yet anyway so they may have looked around for her for hours and realized she was gone. I was considering giving the story a 7/10, but I just thought the story was such an emotional roller coaster (that I mostly thoroughly enjoyed) that I can't in good conscience score it a 7/10. It's an 8/10 for these creative choices they took. If they handled Joel's death better and cooled it with the on the nose pandering, I would have given it a 10.

I, for one, absolutely loved how it ended. I don't mind the choice Ellie made. I understand why she made it. I understand it because I played the game thoroughly and I understood Abby's motivations. To sum the two games. TLOU1:
The main character travels far and wide to accomplish their goal, and intimately "makes the wrong decision" by changing their mind... For personal reasons.

TLOU2: The main character travels far and wide to accomplish their goal, and intimately "makes the wrong decision" by changing their mind... For personal reasons. Thanks everyone!

The game makes you mad when Joel dies and it is how they want you to be when you play the rest of the game: "MAD". Yes it sucks that you can't play him and a lot of the frustrations comes from the fact that there is no revenge. Ellie realises when fighting her that she doesn't feel better hurting her so she let her go... That sucks but that's how she feels and killing Abby would only make you more happy but probably not Ellie.

I agree with the critique of the supporting characters being too flat, but Ellies story of revenge and the exploration of her rage still makes the story interesting to me. And even if I didn’t find it interesting, there’s simply no way it’s a 0. Giving a 0 is acting on pure initial emotion without actually reflecting on the purpose of why this story is told as it is. It is a childish reaction.

And then there’s the next level graphics, and incredibly intense gameplay which alone makes this game a 6/10. I agree that the story should be the main focus for a TLOU game, and that is also why I’m not at 10/10, since the story of the first game was better without a doubt - and probably something that will never be achieved in a video game again.

But giving it a zero is like a 2-year old throwing their plate of vegetables on the ground and yelling “I don’t like it!”. Please people, can we have some perspective...

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. At the start, this game fascinated me with its big settings, where you can change almost everything that can help you play the game as you would love.

For example Colorblind mode, Difficulty mode (You can change various things like how much loot can drop, how much damage you can retrieve, and various things related to difficulty).

By the start of TLOU II (Part 2), you jump into the story of Joel where is he telling his brother Tommy what happened at the end of TLOU I (Part 1).

The story jumps into body of Abby a character that most people wouldn't like after playing the game around for 2 hours in-game, and the true reason is that she killed Joel.

Her reason to kill Joel was that he saved Fireflies from making the cure and killing the doctors. Her revenge ends with hitting Joel with golf stick in the head, it was really dramatic by seeing Joel die like that, plus Ellie was there and Tommy too..

After this.. Ellie decides to go on her quest to take revenge on all the members that were during the death of Joel. And Tommy decides to go too but leaves without Ellie... The story is about following the lead of Tommy killing other people and engaging into this dramatic brutalistic masterpiece.

Lastly, I would like to point out how brutalistic this game is.. Naughty Dog Developer's decided to add dog's into this masterpiece, it is truly a pain to see the dogs die to Dog lovers.

Naughty Dog hit it out of the park. The Last of Us part 2 is a phenomenal game in nearly all aspects including storytelling, gameplay and graphics

The sense of scope and exploration has increased tenfold and the result is a beautiful and intriguing environment. However, if you did not enjoy the first The Last of Us, it’s unlikely you will enjoy this sequel. That being said, story sequels like this generally improve upon the first game’s vision rather than completely altering the formula. In that sense this game has succeeded spectacularly. While there are some issues with game mechanics that I wish could be altered it does not detract majorly from the game experience. The game is not perfect, but it is not only playable but enjoyable. I can understand some other reviews as this game doesn't take the same direction as the first where you only see what happens from Ellie and Joel’s perspective. This game makes you see the story from both sides which leaves you questioning the actions that you have taken previously in the game.
The game play is amazing as well as the acting and I believe the story has been made in a way that makes it divisive so you feel either love or hate towards the game itself.
The AI in the game has also been greatly improved over the first game where enemies (especially the infected) are relentless and if you are not quick enough you will take a lot of damage or get yourself killed.
At the end of it all it leaves you wondering whether it was all worth it especially when you see what it cost Ellie which ultimately left me feeling a little empty after finishing the game as it leaves you without any closure or hope.
In conclusion I feel this game is on a different level to the first game which if you look at it the same way you did on the first one you may not like how it turns out.

Expand

Dont listen to these negative reviews, they were done by people who 1) havent even played the game or 2) havent finished it. Now while I havent finished the game I can tell you that so far the game has been a masterpiece from the intense situations and the story so fa. Great controls and visuals with certain RPG elements. I cant wait to see how the rest plays out.

The Last Of Us Part II is an amazing game with flaws but a must play for sure. Just just read this review and decide it for yourself.

    OVERVIEW :
Basically this a very dark game(Story) equipped with the iconic The Last Of Us gameplay and a prominent way of storytelling. The part 1 ends with Ellie and Joel on there way to Jackson where Ellie asks and Joel promises ellie that whatever he told her about the fireflies was true and boom THE END, credits with that crazy music. Gustavo Santaolalla(Music Director of the two parts), lots of love for that music. Part II continues five years later where Ellie is an adult now, Joel is old and they're living a good life in jackson. Ellie makes some good friends in Jackson and one day she finds out the truth about the fireflies and then stops talking to Joel which is very sad but lets continue. In Jackson, Ellie and her friends with others go for rounds outside the Jackson to check for survivors and for infected. When they're on rounds something bad happens to ellie where someone who's close to her gets killed in front of her by one of the WLF soldiers who are also known as Wolves who've come from Seatle to kill that person. Now the whole game is about Ellie going to Seatle and taking revenge on the death of that person.

    THE REVIEW :
First of all the graphics are soo good, cutscene to gameplay transition is smooth and there is so much attention to very subtle to subtle details.
Second thing are the characters. Ellie was funny in part 1 but in part II she's changed. She's brutal and she gets so involved in the revenge that she couldn't control herself from killing anyone who comes in her way. Then comes Dina who is girlfriend of Ellie. it's an important character so I have nothing much to say. Joel is there, obviously, nothing 's much changed about him, he's the same brutal and handsome Joel. The voice actors are also great, Troy baker(Joel), Ashley Johnson(Ellie),Shannon Woodward(Dina), Laura Bailey who plays a role of another important character.
The Third thing is Gameplay. there are two new Villian groups. Washington liberation Front(WLF) and Seraphites also known as scars. WLF are group of people who are not with the federals and live on themselves where as Seraphites is a cult who are deadly too. WLF uses dogs for finding their enemies and you've to kill the dog most of the times but its okay. it's just a game.
I like both enemy groups. Enemy AI is smart. It makes the game realistic. And the common enemies, the infected, there are four types, Runners, Clickers, Shamblers and Stalkers. Each of them have their own way of difficulty while killing them.
The Fourth and most Important thing is the Story, The story is good but the most important thing which i think the game director and one of the story writer Neil Druckmann and the other story writer Hailey Gross wanted to tell is the concept of Perspective.
This game shows two perspectives, one is Ellie's and the other is the killer's perspective. If you see the two perspectives, then you'll find out that there is justice on both the sides. Thats where i liked Neil Druckmann's vision towards this game. There is no game I've ever played which is this different. Now the game's getting so much hate is mostly because of the sudden death of the person who's close to Ellie which was very unexpected. I too felt bad but i gave this game a chance and i do not regret my decision.

Now this game is approx 25 to 35 hours long. And that is a point which I did not like in this game because it becomes a little repetitive. And other point is that the ending is a little weird while playing but it has it's own meaning and after finishing the game you'll realise why it has to end like that.

i'd really appreciate Naughty Dog's risky and experimental approach towards this game and they knew people might not like but still they did it and I think they've succeeded it.

I know some fans will not like this review but it's all your perspective, It's the way you see the game.

I've played a lot of games like GTA, Red Dead Redemption, Uncharted Series, Batman Arkham Series, Lot of Spiderman games including Spiderman PS4, God of War, Assassins Creed games, Call of Duty games and a lot others. And this is my first review on a game.

A Must Recommended game to everyone. Just try it and see it like a movie and you'll definitely love it :):):).

With your Support I might review other games too.

Lots of Love, Thank You For Reading.

I have just finished the game I thought it was very good, but understand why some people are upset the ending makes sense, in my opinion, but isn't what some people wanted. I would recommend playing this game, but be aware it's not a happy game and not really an adventure it's melancholy, if not straight up depressing. I don't feel like it was bitter sweet, like the first, and I doubt I can play through it again for a while if at all. I think the reason I liked it and others didn't was because I was able to empathize with a a character others could not. I can't fault them for that either.

Edit 1: TLDR: Still very enjoyable. the rating I should give it is a 9, but I won't to offset the abundance of 0s

I'm now at a little over 10 hours I think this game feels very much like the first. Some of the other reviews I saw pointed that out too. They seem to point to this as a negative, but I disagree. The first game was extraordinary, and I think this sequel continues this. It is visually beautiful and the dynamic between Ellie and Dina is enjoyable. It's different than that of the First, since the relationship to Ellie is very different. The story is still engaging. I was at the edge of my seat at a few points.
I do have a few issues however, there have been a few visual glitches and the game crashed once, which takes away enough enjoyment that I should take away a point. The only reason I am not is the excess of overly negative ratings. I can understand distaste for the story, but I don't think that is really why it is being barraged. Unless the story is so uninspired later I can't see any major complaints with the story. Sure a revenge plot can be called cliche, but there is enough of a hero's journey to enjoy.

TLDR: So far a very fun game

I've put in 2 hours and 30 minutes so far, so this rating may be subject to change, but I really don't see what people are complaining about. So far I'm invested in the story. One could argue that this could be a bias carried over due to falling in love with the characters in the original that caused this investment, but I am invested nonetheless. So far it feels like the Winter section of the original game in atmosphere, both physically and mentally.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So game could have been better in some aspects but here we go. Im gonna explain what I think the ending means. So it all started at the hospital in the first game. Joel killed so many ppl and basically everyone in the hospital. Now in Last of Us Part 2 Joel killing spree ends up catching up to him and he dies in the hands of Abby because he killed her dad which was one of the surgeons. It was actually really realistic the way he died because he cant kill all those ppl he was gonna get killed eventually by some one. I mean it is the Last of us after all. Well after that Ellie goes on a absolute killing spree doing exactly what Joel was doing in the first. Hunting down. Many WLF members. Then Ellie and Abby face off at Santa Barbara and clash. To many ppls surprize Ellie tells Abby to go and just leave. The reason for this is because she had enough of the fighting and realized that all the fighting wouldnt bring Joel or any of them back. It was a cycle it all started with Joel and moved on to Ellie and then killing Abby would lead to Lev killing Ellie in the future potentially. She had enough. To me it makes sense. The reason I gave it a 9 cause no game is ever perfect. I feel some things could have been improved upon. But yeah thats my review. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have to say that most of the outrage aimed at The Last of Us 2, is just social outrage. People angry because Joel gets killed, and they make you play as a lesbian and there are lgbt characters in the game. I’m normally in agreement with that camp. I detest identity politics, and feel that sometimes it borders on authoritarianism. However, this game does nothing with these characters that you could call preachy. They simply exist in the story, there is subtext, but nothing is explicitly stated to try and sway your opinions either way. So it seems people just don’t want those characters to exist in the medium at all. So the criticism that it’s sjw propaganda doesn’t hold much water for me. On to my second point, I hated the first games ending, I hated Joel as a character for making such a selfish decision, based on being unable to live with the trauma of losing his daughter. I hated the way it ended, and I loathed the slow, clunky gameplay, but the reason the last of us 2 seems to work so well, is because of my disdain for Joel’s decisions in part 1. The game is about brutal revenge, and the pointlessness of seeking an eye for an eye. It also deals with the repercussions of Joel’s lie, and the fragility of their relationship built on this lie that Joel “saved” Ellie. I found the writing to be very good, and the scenes involving the original duo, still serve to make you feel for Joel, but while you can sympathize with him, and understand his motivations for what he did. It was still a lie, and it was ultimately what led Ellie onto a path of utter annihilation. I think that the gameplay has been cleaned up enough to fix my issues with the first game, and the story serves to resolve a lot of the anger I had at Joel in the end of Part 1. If you can handle LGBT people existing in a video game, as they do in real life, then I think you should play the game, I think your perspective of the story and characters, will be wildly different based on how you felt about the ending of part 1. You may hate part 2 because Joel is gone, but it may leave you with some appreciation for a game and story that doesn’t just seek to provide fan service for people who only took away positivity, and warm and fuzzies for the lie that was Joel and Ellie’s relationship. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Honestly, ignore many of the homophobic and hateful reviews. Are some valid? Probably, but few actually give constructive criticism that doesn't stem from the game including "identity politics" and everything else.

    What's great about the game:

The graphics, as expected, are beautiful. I've spent twenty minutes staring at the mountains because of how gorgeous everything looks (and how disgustingly terrifying the zombies look). The characters, both old and new, are amazing. I think the story in itself offers up a level of realism with the relationships going on, even between characters we've just encountered. Ellie feels like the Ellie we meet during the first game, but she's older and stronger (and a little terrifying as well). SPOILER MENTIONED: Of course, we all know (or most know) what happens to the beloved Joel. Even though his horrific death is gutwrenching and awful, it fits the story. I can get being upset about losing a character you love, but his death leads to the rest of the game and the feelings of the characters, even Tommy, who we only see in glimpses and through his actions. SPOILER OVER

The cinematics (which I do have a tad of a gripe about, mentioned below), are also incredible, and some of them give us the much-needed relief from the horror. This game is definitely more story-driven than the first one, but I don't have a problem with that. The Last of Us has always been a more story-driven game. Representation is important, especially in video games. To some, it's pushing an agenda, but video games reach large populations, meaning they need to more diverse than they were growing up. This game does just that without making it a focal point. Ellie being gay has been established since the DLC of the first game came out, so I do not understand the shock there.

SPOILER: There is a transgender character later on named Lev, and not Abby, as many tried to enforce due to her body shape and appearance. So, don't fall into that misinformed belief. SPOILER OVER

What I find to be the best thing about the game is the horror of it all. So many post-apocalyptic games tend to forget the setting and what is at stake. They fall short on the zombie aspect and just struggle to create moments of true tension and horror. The Last of Us II is a great example of wonderful horror. It has tension and builds tension without making the moments too obvious. As the one playing or the one watching, the game creates a level of anxiety many others come nowhere close to achieving. The gore and violence, which I have seen many say is too much, is just right for the game. It does make it more mature, but the violence fits the setting and the plot.

Onto what I found to be the negatives:

In regards to the cinematics, I do find that they do happen a little too often. It feels as if every other moment is a cinematic scene, which can bog down the overall gameplay if too frequent. Granted, the cinematic scenes are great, but I feel some moments didn't need to have one.

SPOILER: One of my gripes and this may just be me, is how quickly the relationship happens between Ellie and Dina. This is probably just me and my struggle to understand the passing of time, but it jumps so quickly from them having this awkward thing going on to them calling each other babe and talking about their lives together. I do think the game could have done better with spacing that out so it does not overwhelm the story. SPOILER OVER

These are my negatives so far. More may arise, but not enough to warrant such a huge drop in a review.

Overall, the game is great as a sequel. It also works as a standalone game. I think a lot of the reviews, especially the negative ones I have read, expected one thing and are upset that they got something else. That's how these things work. And certain types of characters being in a game is not pushing an agenda. It's simply saying we exist and deserve to be included in all forms of media, not just the political ones.

I loved this game, very brutal, gory, horrific, powerful. It really plays on your heart strings.

If you have strong emotions with good empathy you'll have a good time with it. Sadly many people don't.

The game may not be as great as the first version, but it's unique in its kind. You feel hatred in the game and you want revenge. In the game, each character gives himself the right to do whatever he wants from his own point of view
In the end, it should be noted that this game did not need to pay so much attention to Ellie homosexuality

Just some objectivity from somebody who’s actually played the game and has an open mind to having my beliefs in the beloved characters from TLOU1 challenged.

Certain decisions made at the end of TLOU1 did make me uncomfortable to the point of questioning (for a long time after I was finished) what my definition of “right” was in terms of the plot.

The ONLY reason TLOU2 really works for me is because of how emotionally invested and attached I was to the characters of Pt I. This game isn’t afraid of closely and uncomfortably examining the consequences. In my opinion, there really wasn’t any other way to justify a sequel to the near-perfect game that TLOU was.

Gameplay wise, (though admittedly a bit dated) everything TLOU did, this one does better. The tension, the environmental storytelling, and the fluidity, the balance of control vs desperation in any given combat scenario - all of it has been perfected. I do my best to temper expectations going into any game I’m excited about, but I’m almost relieved to say that this one DELIVERS and then some.

Bravo, ND, keep doing what you do and I can’t wait to see what y’all do next.

Gamers, please keep an open mind and just TRY this one out. There’s a lot of fun to be had at the end of the day, regardless of how you feel about the representation on display here. Which isn’t a bad thing come on.... because THE STORY WORKS.

TLDR; great game, you owe it to yourself to try it out if you own a PS4, keep an open mind and don’t just pile on to a work of art without adequate context and information.

I know this game was going to be good with the how to shoot tutorial. it's really simple but they made you have a snowball fight with children to learn the controls of a meaning guiding navigating. to have such a light-hearted moment and such a heavy game and to use that as training tutorial that made sense in the story I knew I was in. I'm not too far and I've only played the game for about 5-6 hours song about a fifth of the way through but if you like the first game I think you're going to love this.

UPDATED: I FINISHED THE GAME AND... I still loved ITM it fell a little shy of the first game. But I enjoyed it the story. The big leak I think was warranted and added so much to the story and messages

This game doesnt has the same story line as The Last of us part I; however, it makes you love it despite the fact of Joel's death at the begining of the game. When you learn about why Abby killed Joel, you actually understand her and you cant say you wouldnt have done the same if you were abby. Then you kill all of her friends. What would you want her to do if not try to kill you and Tommy? The game has great graphics. I would give it a 10/10 but sometime the exploring parts are just too boring. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

Amazing experience unlike anything I've ever seen in any medium.

Part 2 greatly improves on gameplay, graphics and fully embraces the horror aspect. The infected are terrifying this time around. Amazing experience unlike anything I've ever seen in any medium.

Part 2 greatly improves on gameplay, graphics and fully embraces the horror aspect. The infected are terrifying this time around. The art direction and soundtrack are incredible and the performances of the actors are amazing. This is gameplay wise the best thing I've ever played because of the amazing AI and combat mechanics. The shootouts are adrenaline fueled thrill rides that completely floored me.

However, I completely understand why someone wouldn't like the story. Throughout the experience there were moments that made me very uncomfortable. Think about breaking bad and the good seasons of game of thrones only this time around it is you that has to do these harrowing story twists.

Sometimes Naughty Dog's ambition exceeds their capability. There are some story moments that feel cramped in and are a little underdeveloped.

Still, I love the direction of the story as a whole and how thematically everything is mirrored. All characters have a distinct personality and I feel like I know more about the smaller side characters in this game than some stereotypical video game protagonist like Nathan Drake or that lady from Control.

My biggest complaint with this game is how the story is non-linear structured. I completely understand from a story tellers perspective that you want to pull the rug under from someone and create some variety with flashbacks, but this really hurts replay ability for me. I still have to go through these sections that don't really have gameplay in them every time I start up a NG+.

It would be really cool to see an update that allows you to experience the story in a linear way in NG+:
    (SPOILERS)
You start out as Abby in the park, leading to the events that Joel narrates in the start of the regular game, you play all the flashback scenes in linear order and the Jackson parts stay exactly the same but in Seattle you would continuously flip back and forth between Ellie and Abby without those flashbacks hurting the pacing in the middle of the game.
    (END OF SPOILERS)

I feel like if this was implemented I would have called it a masterpiece, but it's still amazing and might be the most memorable AAA game I have experienced.

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
