So realistically I was going to give this a 9, since it's a REALLY good game, and I've only ever given a personal 10 to 3 games before as of this review, and that is Halo 3, The Last of us Part 1 and Ocarina Of Time. But thanks to the unfair level of fandoms crying over a character death their reviews have hurt the ACTUAL value this game gives. So this is probably more of a 9 if you wanted more of a realistic view, as the gameplay, graphics and narrative are something of a near perfect masterpiece crafted by a really dedicated team of some of the best the game industry has to offer, unfortunately it isn't a perfect masterpiece like the last 3 games I mentioned but it's only really down to the writing of one character at the end as a reasoning. Now if you're only here for the review stop here, but if you're curious as to the reasoning I'll detail it here: This is due to the writing of one of the important characters which is pretty much the ONLY gripe I had with the game was that at the last portion of the end where (SPOILER) Tommy decides he goes from a "don't get revenge and put your life at risk" at the beginning to a sudden "What are you doing Ellie you need to keep pursuing revenge for me after she let you go and told you the fight was over and spared your life you need to put your life at risk again!" which was a bit weird and unlike Tommy's character to demand this young girl go get herself killed or put her life at risk again and becoming this hateful old man, it could've been left out as she already wanted to pursue revenge. Other than that the narrative, the gameplay, graphics, and the writing of the rest of the characters was pristine. Highly Recommend this game and absolutely love the stuff Naughty Dog puts out.… Expand

    Fantastic game with great gameplay, pushing aggression and stealth and this aggression correlates with Ellie's story perfectly. The twists are done amazingly and you really feel for every character involved. I have never felt this much emotion playing a video game. A Masterpiece, all the hate is just people that wanted a safe and easy journey, that isnt the TLOU world.

    The gameplay is well improved from the first game. Traversal is significantly better making combat fast paced, dynamic, and smooth. Stealth or attacking styles both work. Ngp also makes multiple play throughs fresh and fun. One of the best games of all time.    … Expand

    One of the greatest games of the generation. Heartbreaking, brutal, yet I find myself going back to it a couple times a year without fail. Fantastically realized and well built. A must play, and if you’re anything like me you won’t truly appreciate it until a few playthroughs.

    Just complete nonsense from salty, salty chuds. The only power they have is review bombing a game that will stay acclaimed and successful no matter how they cry.

    The game is a masterpiece, amazing gameplay, beautiful visuals, great characters, a perfect continuation of the story of part 1.

    I encountered no bugs, glitches or crashes in 2 playthroughs.

    Playing through the first the last of us is mandatory to get the most out of this story.
    The story needs you to be open minded and having empathy. If you cant deal with a story without plotarmor, this is not for you. Some people have really strong opinions about this one but i don't want to spoil you. Lets compare it to Game of Thrones: Some ppl are huge Oberyn Martell fans and cant deal with the fact that he got his head crushed by the mountain. A huge part of the negative reviews are because of that. These reviews are unjustified but i get that it sucks to loose a character in a show or game that you love.

    The gameplay is not complex at all and most of it is exploring or fighting. The animations here again are extraordinary. Over all you should not buy this game for its gameplay alone. If you seek for a skill challenge there are other games like dark souls, hollow night or whatever. Overall this is a point i can see why someone would reduce their final verdict on this game by some points. For me the gameplay fits its purpose well and exploring the last of us part 2 is fun and does not distract you from the story.

    The game is brutal in every way. The story is dark. The violence in this game is sometimes over the top but helps to deliver the dark times ppl go through in this game. If you cant stand aggression and violence in games/movies i dont recomment this game to you.

    Homophobic ppl seem to review bomb this game as well. Hard to explain without spoiling but this game does not force political statements. It just represents people of all kind and some homophobic idiots get triggered because of it. Its not even that big of a deal when you play through it.

    Overall if you seek for a story driven game in a violent postapocalyptic world the last of us part 1 and 2 is the best you can get.    … Expand

    I'd love to explain why this deserves a 10 but I cant fully put it into words, this game has continued to stick with me and effect me since finishing it. I'll never be able to experience a game like this again and that saddens me. It's so sad to see all of the unwarranted hate.

    I don’t even know how to explain the whole game but this game has probably the best emotional experience ı’ve ever witnessed.The whole presentation of characters and consequences is just spectacular.The gameplay feels so satisfying and overall this is just a unique experience.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After completing the Uncharted series I thought I couldn't love any other game series more than that, but playing through last of us remastered and last of us part 2 changed that (naughty dog once again did their magic)

    I know there is a lot of hate around this game, after finishing the game in one stretch I can't quite figure out why some people hate this game so much.

    SPOILERS AHEAD

    When I had to start playing as Abby halfway into the game, I wasn't really comfortable too, in fact, I hated the first few hours of it, didn't care about picking up supplies or artifacts, or didn't feel like upgrading Abby or anything. But by the end of playing as Abby, I was praying that don't make me kill Ellie as Abby or wise versa.

    I'm just so happy the game ended the way it did, I don't know how else it could have been better. This is definitely one of the best media entertainment experiences that I have ever had.

    Developers were quite successful at making the players feel all the emotions at each time, and I think they were so good at it that some people got too upset and unknowingly became true haters.

    yeah, I spelled it right, "TRUE HATERS", not the pumped-up ones, I'm sure a good chunk of the hate and negative reviews are fabricated. If you look at the percentage of people who achieved the trophy for completing the story "WHAT I HAD TO DO" is nearly half of the people who own the game. so I can be sure that a good amount of people became so uncomfortable at some peak points or got fed up with the hate campaigns or for some other reason stopped playing the game at some point and went straight up to be haters without knowing what the game has left to offer them.

    Anyway, I'd give a 100/10 review score if I could for this game.

For gamers who are angry because they’re unable to comprehend and cope with such rich storytelling, I say you probably shouldn’t watch some of the greatest movies of all time because they’ll be triggered by decisions made by the film makers there too. Because you didn't get what you exactly wanted shouldn't be a reason to absolutely hate a game this much. It is pure anger and disrespect to an absolute masterpiece. Alright the first game was better storywise but in every other way this game was bigger and better. Yes Joel dies but that doesn't mean that this game sucked. This game wanted you to hate Abby and you did, i did. Honestly i still don't get why Ellie didn't finish her. I have to admit that the SJW is all over the game that sucked so bad.     Worth waiting, and I love how the game has a very realistic storyline even though it is not satisfied people's expectations. Well that is simply life, you get back what you give other people a.k.a. KARMA.

    Things change and that's life and in the grand scheme of the story there is nothing wrong with the way characters are removed from the story.
    It all makes sense and makes a great revenged story. I's brutal and not for the faint of heart. Ppl that are disappointed are autistic and    absolutely brilliant, if you like the intenseness of part 1 you will love this one too, even more so.

I mean, the story of the game is so interestingly designed. that the game mentally seems much longer than what it is and we really forget some of the moments of the game and this way of storytelling is really great.

    Another point that I find interesting is Seattle itself, all the architecture of Seattle, important buildings, streets and houses around, etc., are all designed based on the real Seattle, and there is nothing different between the game Seattle and the real Seattle. Flawless graphics, virtually no glitches or frame rate drops, incredible gameplay, realistic gore, touching soundtrack, fantastic level design, badass boss fights, good weapon choices, excellent customization options, fun cheats, an array of extras, and great gameplay dialogue. Another thing I liked was that the enemies were so well programmed, especially on Grounded Mode. They all felt so real and it was kinda sad watching them slowly bleed out, even the Scars.

    This game is magnificent and worth every penny. If you cannot see past the fact that Joel dies or that the story was sloppily written, then don’t play it, fine by me. The positives far outweigh the negatives though.    … Expand

I think peoples complaints have a lot to do with the fact that the plot was leaked, as i noticed more people who were spoiled went into the game with a negative mindset. This game tells a story of hate and revenge, but to the people that claim its simply ‘revenge bad’ over and over again don’t seem to understand that the first game told its message in the same way. Its not ham fisted, only told in a way that its up for your own interpretation.

    To the people saying its just SJW **** Whatre you talking about? Its the most inclusive yet non ham fisted story about lgbt characters. Ellie and Dina kiss near the END! There relationship is told very casually and they care for each other as any other couple would. They dont walk around saying ‘im gay look at how gay i am!’. The same thing goes for lev! Him being trans is part of the story, but the fact that hes trans isnt even forced down your throat in the slightest because the audience and the characters already know! Naughty dog knows you don’t need to be reminded evert 6 seconds!

    While I can see why some smooth-brained people don't understand the story this game is trying to convey, I personally love the game. The gameplay is excellent, the upgrade mechanics for the guns and the characters are top-notch, and the story is a tragic tale told in a tragic world, just because Joel didn't go out in heroic glory for "saving" Ellie, everyone is review-bombing the game.

    Don't pay attention to the review bombing. This game is fantastic. No, it is not perfect but no game is. Anything negative I could say about this game would be a nitpick, at best. I would recommend this game for the excellent gameplay and engrossing story.

    Overall this game is the perfect sequel to the first TLOU, where everything is more complex and simply better.

    It's the Last Of Us...you can't go wrong with that if you want to jump in one of the best horror experience ever this is for you!
    The original game was good but this is even better, good thing that Naughty Dog made this even with the pandemic, they made hard work for this, with good graphic and cool soundtrack this games is awesome
