    Do not buy it is just another way to throw money one more game to go from point A to point B the end was to be expected and for every 30 minutes of game you have to see a cinematic the controls are rough The game crashes and has many Bugs

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The graphics are outstanding, foliage and scenery look absolutely amazing. The sound design is also spectacular, leaves crunch when you step on them, clothes rustle in just the right way.
    The story however is pretty bad. Fitting two stories in the span of one game makes everything seem rushed and fast paced, not allowing one to enjoy the game at all. Joel, an experienced survivor and fighter, got done in so easily I thought it was a joke.

    Somewhat great graphics and decent gameplay. Too bad the whole game is a loop of actions being taken without the use of common sense. Every time they open their mouths will make you say "but why...?". There is so little cinematics compared to the gameplay. Which there is a lot of it after each cinematic. All the actions people take in the game seem wrong, forced, or very sudden. Making youSomewhat great graphics and decent gameplay. Making you question how such a chaotic narrative exist. If I have to compare the narrative to something, then it goes somewhat like this "this boy knows the secret formula. He killed david, now we will kill him slowly" then comes another guy "oh well, lets just kill him" only for the first guy to take a 180 turn and say "what? no! we can't kill him! That is wrong!".

    The story or plot feels like it came straight out from the deepest and darkest sections of Fanfiction. Truly, a game that describes 2020 perfectly.    … Expand

    Good graphics, but the game is full of problems and a bad story. As much as the expert critic is trying to impose that the game is good, this is not what we see.

While this game has some gorgeous graphics, the boring gameplay formula is no longer backed by a good story. In fact, it's the complete opposite - the story is literally worse than the gameplay.     This video game does not deserve a 100, what the hell do those who rated it so highly think? It doesn't deserve 35 either, its graphics are very good, its soundtrack, and its gameplay is much better than the first part, but its history is like a bad season of THE WALKING DEAD, for me it deserves:

It’s that Naughty Dog ruined such beloved characters and created a terrible story in the process that makes this game unbearable to even finish. The only good thing about this game is the graphics but I wouldn’t even say that’s a compliment because we already expected them to be good.     Literally just an interactive movie, although some parts were interesting and engaging most of the game was just cutscenes. The gameplay hasnt changed much from the TLOU but its still very controlling

    I'll do my best to not write any spoilers here, and just stick to the facts.
    I'm about 13 hours into the game now, and I honestly just don't want to play it anymore.
    The gameplay is basically exactly the same as TLoU1, and really doesn't do anything to evolve from there other than having better animations, there's nothing really new beyond dogs, and a few new animations, not that that    I'll do my best to not write any spoilers here, and just stick to the facts.
    I'm about 13 hours into the game now, and I honestly just don't want to play it anymore.

    The gameplay is basically exactly the same as TLoU1, and really doesn't do anything to evolve from there other than having better animations, there's nothing really new beyond dogs, and a few new animations, not that that is entirely a bad thing, TLoU1 had really fun gameplay, but I was hoping for some innovation, and honestly the gameplay is one of the only two saving graces in this game.

    The one thing I could say that I absolutely loved about this game is the scenery/graphics. This is hands down one of the the most beautiful games on PS4, right up there with Horizon Zero Dawn. The world feels natural, like nature is reclaiming the world in a slightly comforting way, and if it wasn't for all the murdering and zombies, It's a world I would love to be in myself.

    And that is about the only good I can say about this game. The story. Good lord the story. I read the spoilers before I played it, so I knew what was going to happen, and that didn't bother me too much.. but the game itself is actually WORSE than the spoilers let me to believe. I want this to be a spoiler free review so I won't go into detail, but "that" scene happens much earlier than I thought, the plot seems stupid so far, and the characters aren't acting even remotely like they did in TLoU1, it's like they're not even the same people.

    I'm just sorry, I knew this game was gonna be bad, I bought it anyway to give it a try.. I'm returning it tomorrow for a refund.. Another god-tier IP ruined by identity politics.

    I'm only giving it a 3 because goddamn is it pretty, and the combat isn't horrible.    … Expand

If you're invested in the characters from the first game, namely the main characters Joel and Ellie, you should stick to the first game. The accessibility features are great, and as someone who sometimes fumbles with controls, that they are the same as the previous game is an excellent move, as so many game series move them around.

    Downsides...
    Side characters are included in a way that suggests we're supposed to care about them because the protagonist cares about them.. but the relationships aren't earned, they aren't displayed in any meaningful way (Compare and contrast with Joel and his daughter, from The Last of Us) so they feel artificial. The rapport that is supposed to exist between any of them feels hollow. Why should I care about Eugene? Jesse? Dina? I don't know these characters, I haven't spent time with them, so I don't care.

    The clickers take a back seat. They're there, but surviving them isn't the main problem any more. They're just there to remind the player that this is the Last of Us, and there's a permanent threat, as well as a leg up when the story stalls.

    Character development feels non-existent. There's no redemptive arc, or any significant change other than an abrupt heel-face-turn at the end.

    The deuteragonist is not a character I want to play as; why anyone thought it would be interesting to play as the bad guy is entirely beyond me

    Last, but not least, the killing of a fan favourite character... destroyed the whole reason I wanted the game in the first place, turning the rest into a pointless slog, like forever reading a book from the perspective of the least favourite characters and never getting to the chapters containing the characters that are of actual interest.    … Expand

Therefore, making her part playable was completely unnecessary due to the fact that we did not want to hear her story. Moreover, the ending was not satisfying at all, it was more disappointing really. No wonder naughty dog lost 70% of their staff… Expand

    So with the Last of Us 2 I hoped Naughty Dog would further explore this wonderful relationship, which was left at its very early stages. So many possibilities and stories were ahead of them. Sadly Naughty dog instead chose to destroy these characters, to subvert expectations in the name of shock value. For me the first was endlessly playable thanks to its brilliant writing and thread of hope that kept the characters and the players hooked. None of that is here, no hope, no levity. Just a bleak and depressing plot. One which i do not wish to play again. At least I still have the first.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. To be honest I really wanted to like this game, but I just can't seem to, even after I've let the end simmer down a bit. I feel really disappointed. What made TLOU1 so so good and timeless was, in my opinion, the story. The characters allowed you to feel hope, after establishing a world in which everything feels lost, cold, and hardened. It explores a personal story of two people who on their way to deliver the creation of a vaccine simultaneously find meaning to their lives in such a tough world (very reflective of our own world). The growth of Joel and Ellie's relationship as they both become more and more loving towards each other is one of the most touching things I've seen in gaming. It was valuable emotionally and allowed room for growth.

    We know this world is bleak - people are really desperate, they would kill and loot to survive. They would betray and make selfish decisions. People are utterly inhumane - which is true in both games. TLOU1 uses this as a strength to convey a meaningful story, Joel and Ellie fight for more than to just survive. In TLOU2, it's like the creators wanted to display torture for the sake of torturing. There is no substance in the story, in the new characters, in the relationships, and decisions. It's so disappointing because technically, the game is incredible. The screenplay, scenery, sound effects are insane. Even the little countless ways to subvert your expectations and the creepy atmosphere is nailed amazingly. However, this combined with the story leaves a bad taste. A second good thing I can say is though, if you genuinely like the story, then it is rewarding for you. There are a lot of cool parallels, like Abby finding someone to care for, just like Joel with Ellie.

    But I don't like the story.

    It's not even about the creation of characters to fit a certain agenda. I'm one of the POC identified in the game, as well as part of LGBT+, but at some parts of the game, the representation feels almost forced? Personally, I think it'd be more effective representation if one's identity isn't shoved in your face a lot of the times and would even become a part of the plot. It just doesn't make sense to me, in such a world where death is so easy. The best scenes to me, the ones where I could have cried, were the very few scenes with Joel and Ellie in flashbacks. Those were spectacular and held value for me more than seeing someone who just looked like myself on screen. Everything else felt like a dry spell, and in my head, once the flashbacks would end, I'd be thinking, "Here we go again.." It's a ridiculously bad written plot and I don't understand how this franchise could fall from grace so steeply.    … Expand

I was so exited for this game and all that just got ruined literally 2 hours in.I bought a ps3 for the sole purpose of playing the first game back in 2013 and it was well worth it.I just genuinely do not understand what the the writers of this game where thinking when they wrote this new story.In terms of the technical side this game is a 10/10,But the story is just filled with so many plot holes and unlikeable characters I had absolutely no motivation to finish the game but I made myself in case it atleast had a half decent ending but nope that’s just the cherry on top of this horrible mess of a story.If your a fan of the first Game pick it up when it goes on sale if you want to experience it for yourself but most people payed $60 dollars just to be disappointed.… Expand

    Basically a trailer with some gameplay sprinkled in. Enough with the cutscenes and let me play! Also, what is it with the PS3 graphics? Definitely not worth $60. The story is also very depressing. I've never played any Last of Us and this was just a bad first experience.

    Absolutely beautiful graphics. There I said the only positive thing about this pile of trash. Ruined by the greatest story of all time with a great ending you should have left this story alone instead of push a mindless empty plotline in order to push your own agenda I feel sorry for all fellow gamers who paid for this. Please save your money and go buy ANYTHING else.

If you loved the original characters you will be seriously disappointed with this sequel. Creative director Neil Druckmann has trolled loyal fans by delivering the complete opposite of what they wanted. Joel and Ellie might as well not be in this game. If you really cared about those characters (like I did) then give this a hard pass. The level of narcissism shown by Druckmann is unfathomable. I cannot imagine how he was allowed to derail what could have become a billion dollar franchise. This game will be bought by many loyal fans and like me they will feel betrayed by the false advertising and the blatant lies that tricked them into parting with their money. Sure the game has pretty graphics and smooth game play but beyond that it is soulless. It desperately attempts to be clever by forcing you to commit acts of atrocity and then preaches to you about how awful this is... it’s moronic, patronising and simply fails on every level. The female writer that delivered the brilliant original had no hand in this utter garbage and it shows. I will never buy anything remotely connected to Neil Druckmann ever again. I sincerely hope that his career is over. Don’t waste your time or money, Ghost of Tsushima is coming out soon and then CyberPunk is following later on this year. My advice is to save your money for what are much more likely to be quality entertaining titles. Or if you really need an apocalypse fix and haven’t yet played Days Gone, it’s definitely worth a look, it’s the entertaining sequel that this game should of been.… Expand

    But as you can see i rated the 3/10 which seems like it doesn't match what i just wrote above but there is one thing that makes this game rated this low and it is The Story.

    The story is the sole reason you get these types of games and the story of this game to say the least is very bad and very confusing at some points, the characters feel like they have no goals and nothing like the first game, every thing after the death of one of the main characters of the first game feels like a forced "feel bad for me, i'm human too" kind of narrative and it doesn't help that you have to hunt the main characters to seek revenge right after you were shown that after you meet those characters you're going to kill one of them, and in the very end you have the chance as the main character to to kill this villain who killed your friends (you killed theirs aswell) but for some stupid reason you decide that you're better than them and you let them go live, just to comeback to a dead friend and a broken relationship, just super confusing and and very stupid in my opinion, i think the developers went the GOT season 8 route with their writing and my score shows that.

Esta constitución solo es posible con una dieta y un entrenamiento específico, por una mutación genética, o siendo transgénero, pero si es una mujer biológicamente normal (sin ningún tipo de mutación) como han confirmado los desarrolladores es un personaje totalmente ridículo. No contentos con esto en la historia de supuesta venganza Ellie mata a varios del Grupo de Abby pero cuando te puede llegar el momento de hacerlo con Abby derrepente aprende la "lección" Y siente empatía mandestrozando el fin que tiene el juego. El juego más decepcionante de la historia. The Walking Dead ya tomó una dirección similar a esta cargando se a los personajes más importantes de la serie y casi se carga todo su fandom pero a diferencia de The last of Us supieron fregar con Rick lo que sería el equivalente a Joel e incluso consiguieron salvar la serie. The problem with this game is the complete assassination of the main characters, Joel was killed off in such a dumb way and to early, then they make you play the person who killed him in order to build sympathy for that character..except it doesn’t work. The ending is even worse. Imagine going to see John Wick where he kills everyone except the actual person who killed his dog and then let him live. The story is a terrible twist on the cliche revenge plot used in all media and it is a complete kick in the face to all the fans of this franchise. There is good about this game though it has set a new bar for how games should look, sound, and play. Everything except the story is absolutely game of the year material but when you make a 30 hour long story game (mine took me far less but that is the designed time) but the story is absolute disrespectful garbage then you have no game at all. Personally I regret getting this game as i have been looking forward to it for 7 years. I’ll just consider the end of tlou 1 as the canon ending since in my opinion I think the last of us is perfect (even it’s flaws). Naughty Dog wanted to make you feel the rage and vengeance but it just makes you feel that for the developers and writer. I don’t know how a top tier studio put out this game. It makes me mad at the entire Sony and PlayStation brand. How did Jim Ryan, Evan Wells, Hurst, Layden, hear this story and not put the brakes on it? It’s very clear Druckmann needed Bruce Stanley. It’s like George Lucas unchecked, he can’t write at all. It’s like Star Wars The Phantom Menace all over again and shockingly much worse.

    I am so appalled and hurt by TLOU Part 2. I as a person who has owned every PlayStation, I want to throw my PS4 Pro out the window. I don’t want to but the only way I know how to show them how wrong this was is to speak with my wallet. I won’t buy a Naughty Dog game ever again. I don’t even want to get the PS5 now. I guess I am going to get an Xbox Series X now. I don’t want anything to do with PlayStation and naughty dog ever again. You don’t do this to your fans. When Druckmann said he wasn’t sure about continuing the story but felt like they had a story that lived up to the original he lied. I trusted him. I wish June 19th never happened. If “Outbreak Day” is the day the world fell to pieces, June 19, 2020 is the day a great studio and brand died. Sony and PlayStation lost a fan who was with them from the beginning.     Graphics, music and gameplay are top-notch, unfortunately the characters and plot are abysmal. I highly do not recommend.

I heard all the leaks and still bought the game because nd has made nothing but amazing games all my childhood but this blew me away just wow not only did they kill Joel but they make you play as is killer and try to get you to like her on top of all that your met with hours of absolute **** trying to get back to playing as Ellie and get revenge for Joel my favorite character and they can’t even do that for me I’m the game looks and sounds amazing but it means nothing when I have to play as **** she hulk for half the goddamn game Niel druckman you suck don’t ever touch this franchise again… Expand

    내가 앞으로 나아가려면 적들을 죽여야하지만 끝에가서는 복수가 의미없다고 이야기한다. 하지만 플레이어들은 게임의 주인공으로써 나아갈 이유가 필요하다. 하지만 이 게임은 그 목적 자체를 부정하는 것뿐만 아니라 목적 자체도 모호했다.
    이 게임은 PC(Political Correctness) 때문에 악평을 받는것이 아니다. 게임의 제작진들은 본인의 게임이 악평을 받는 이유가, 유저들이 교육받지 못했고 성차별주의자 이기 때문이라고 생각해선 안된다. 세상사람들은 타인의 의견과 성적취향에 큰 관심을 가지지 않는다. 그저 그들이 내게 피해를 주지 않는다면 그들이 선택하는 대로 할 권리가 있다고 생각한다. 그러나 이 게임은 스토리의 개연성과 주인공의 동기, 불쾌함, 대부분의 이야기가 우연으로 진행됨, 1편의 주인공들을 존중하지 않고 깨부신 것등으로 인해 1편을 사랑해 왔던 유저들의 기대를 부숴버렸다. 부숴진 기대에 유저들은 반발하게 된다. 조엘이 죽으면 안된다고 말하는 것은 틀렸다. 사람은 누구나 죽고 조엘 또한 수없이 죽여왔으니까 그러나
    애비는 수 많은 사람들을 죽인다. 그러나 그 업보를 받지는 않는다.
    라스트 오브 어스의 1편을 사랑한 이들을 존중했다면, 라스트오브 어스 1의 기대를 품고 2를 구매해준 유저들에 대한 존중이 있었다면 아무런 쓸모도 없이 죽였어야 했는가 라는 생각이 든다. 이야기에서 중요한 역할을 하고 그로 인해 죽게되었다면 사람들은 이해했을 것이다.
    게임을 구매하는 것은 정치적 올바름을 예찬하는 평론가가 아니다. 게임을 구매하고 당신의 게임을 응원하게 되는 것은 '플레이어'들이다 플레이어들을 존중하지 않고 그들이 증오하게 만든다는 당신의 노력은 성공했을지는 모른다. 그러나 앞으로 나우티독의 게임과 그 개발진들에 대해 유저들은 기대하지 않을 것이다. 그렇게 된다면 양측 모두가 불행해지는 것이다.

    I have to kill the enemies to go forward, but at the end I say that revenge is meaningless. However, players need a reason to move forward as the main character of the game. However, the game was not only denied the purpose itself, but also the purpose itself.
    This game is not criticized for PC (Political Correctness). The creators of the game shouldn't think that the reason their game gets bad reviews is because users aren't educated and are sexist. People in the world do not care much about the opinions and sexual orientation of others. I just think they have the right to do whatever they choose if they don't hurt me. However, this game broke the expectations of users who had loved the first part because of the probabilities of the story, the main character's motives, discomfort, most of the stories proceeded by chance, and the one who broke without respecting the main characters. Users will react to the broken expectations. It is wrong to say that Joel should not die. Everyone has died, and Joel has been killed countless times.
    Abby kills a lot of people. But it doesn't take that karma.
    If you respected those who loved the first part of the Last of Earth, if you were expecting the name of Last of Earth 1 and expressed respect for the users who purchased 2, should you have killed the protagonist without any use? People would have understood if they had played an important role in the story and died.
    The person who buys the game is not a critic who advocates political correctness. It's the'players' who buy the game and cheer on your game. Your efforts to make players'hate' without respecting players may have been successful. However, in the future, users will not expect the game of NAUGHTYDOG and its developers.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
