    End is ridiculous, all for nothing. Kills many people to exact revenge in end but then doesn't because a flashback of her killer father figure playing a guitar suddenly gives her a conscience.

    Only a few hours into the game and already disappointed at how laughably bad the writing is in this game. Not to mention the trailer literally teases the audience that Joel is a major part of the game. Nope. Dead in the first hour. I just want to forget this game.

ND set out in part 2 to force inclusion and alphabet identity politics upon fans of the 1st one. Gamers want to play games they don't care about that bs. Graphics are amazing though ND really lost what made the studio great when Amy and Bruce left. Druckmann and Gross need to be fired asap by Sony. Reviewer's are an even bigger joke, very few of them are unbiased when they're getting early copies and perks from studios. Check out skillups 25 minute review if u want an unbiased perspective of all that's wrong with this game.

    Writing an plot are kindergarten level. Joel saves the new ? Character Abby. Him and his brother then proceed to tell them their names and where they're staying lol.

    The new strong ? character brutally kills Joel then they force u to play as the new ? character for around 10 hours. Don't worry he or she has a fully stocked 24 hr fitness and bigger muscles than any of the males in the game.

    They then force to try to be sympathetic with Abby as u save children/relive good memories of her crazy surgeon father that was wanting to dissect Ellie. I thought the decision to force players to play as the character that kills the most beloved character of the PS4 gen was the dumbest I'd seen, but it gets worse.

    There's a weird sex scene involving Abby and her boyfriend, which didn't need to be shown and afterwards I'm sure most players will be believe it's a man. There's Lev, played by real life trans person, that's trans in the game that kills her own mother lol. This game is all about forced inclusion and they wouldn't dare kill off any of the alphabet characters lol.

    I'll skip a bunch of garbage and get to the end. Ellie tracks down Abby to get revenge for Joel. She finds her/him strung up and instead of killing her let's her down for a boss fight. Abby somehow managed to bite off two of Ellie's fingers. Yeah he or she is like the terminator with a Rottweiler jaw lol. Ellie then has her almost dead, but sees a flashback of Joel and let's her go lmao. So she kills hundreds of people to get revenge, pregnant women, probably kids too and let's the main villain go. ND should have a script at the end that says no trans or lesbian characters or people were killed during the making/playing of this game. ND pulled one of the worst bait and switches in recent entertainment. They'll still a lot of copies the first month, hopefully word of mouth will kill it off. They sold around 20 million of part 1. This will be a standalone game with a patch on ps5, so they're gonna feel the lack of 2 sku sales. GameStop be ready because you're about to be flooded with trade ins of this garbage game    … Expand

    I was not able to sleep yesterday...I wasted ₹4000 on a really really bad game. The game's visuals and gameplay is outstanding but the story makes me go mad. I didn't know any spoilers about the game. Excited. Hyped. Thank God I got the physical disk. I am going to sell it but I really feel bad for the one buying the disk. I will say that person that the game was TRASH before handing it to him.

    The gameplay has not changed compared to the first (which was already technically outdated in 2013).
    A tasteless story and an obsolete and predictable atmosphere.
    Totally forced LGBT propaganda in addition to being unrealistic dubbing of a transexual character by a woman when the voice is very different in reality.

    Story is very generic and lacks any meaning behind the creative decisions pulled.

    In general I believe one of the worst things about this game - Is the feeling of having nothing to look forward to. There is simply nothing positive in this game, and everything is presented through the cold, frustrating and terrible feelings that this world hold. The magic of The Last of Us part 1, was that despite this exterior world being like this, Joel and Ellie was not once they grew to like each other. Comparatively, Ellie and Dina's dynamic is nowhere near as positive, uplifting or for that matter, interesting.

    I think the worst part about this whole experience, is that during the various flashback sequences, the game shows us these more likable characters/version of characters, that we grew to love in the first game, before pulling us back into this sad, cold and generic new story.

    This might be the game with the most wasted potential, I have ever witnessed.    … Expand

    I am a big fan of the first part. game destroyed. the storyline is very bad. Eli was like a sister to me, I worried about her in the first part. and in the second part they made her terrible. the game is dead for me... Thx naughty dog.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The overall quality of the graphics, animations and etc is very well done, unfortunately the game suffers because of the terrible writing. Making Ellie kill hundreds of soldiers just to find and kill Abby but in the end she doesn't even kill her because revenge is bad? After killing hundreds of soldiers she suddenly has a change of heart in the midst of drowning Abby. Another thing that I hate is the fact that Joel's death is disrespectful to his character, in part 1 he was careful and typically doesn't trust strangers. The reason the first game was REALLY good story wise is because of the Joel-Ellie dynamic, this game just throws away the relationship that they have built up, it is most prominent on that scene where Ellie gets mad at Joel for defending her. The writer tried his best to force Abby down our throats, but fails to do so. One more thing I find annoying is Lev, he/she just feels forgettable and annoying.… Expand

I can already tell based on a lot of these reviews, and to be fair there are a LOT of them, that the devs are just gonna dismiss any negativity based on these cringe redpilled reviews that are just mad about there being trans characters in the game or whatever. The trans character was a pretty well fleshed out character, and I don't think them being trans was that forced, so that part of the narrative was okay.
    But the way this game just tries to shove the message about revenge or whatever down your throat is such an ostentatious **** show. The players spent an entire game getting to know and love Joel and Ellie, and within the first 2 hours some random **** just brutally kills Joel. Little did we know, we're meant to just feel like **** for the entire game. And after this psycho puts on her sadistic display, we're then forced to play as her for half the game, and the devs try to basically show off and have a 'dynamic character' or whatever and try to impress us by turning our perspective around. 'Look, the dog you killed is her dog!' or 'the surgeon you killed was her dad!'
    Abby is a dick even to her own friends, there's nothing likeable about her. Literally nothing. There is no overlap between Abby's moral circle and the player's. So the devs just kill like all the characters and give Abby a **** ton of plot armour, and just until the very last microsecond keep hammering it into our skulls 'revenge bad! revenge bad! revenge bad! revenge bad!' and 'you're just like Abby! you're just like Abby! you're just like Abby! YOU'RE JUST LIKE ABBY! YOU'RE JUST LIKE ABBY!'. It's just so poorly done.
    A dynamic plot like this should feel natural, and it just doesn't. The message is too transparent. We spend the whole game rooting for Ellie and co. just to have this gory fanfic slapped down in front of us on a silver platter of good graphics and guitar simulation.    … Expand

    Finally finished the story. I can say it's not bad at all, don't know where all these negative reviews come from. As far as story wise it's INCREDIBLE. great graphics, great playability, great story. Everything is great about this game. Thank you for such a FANTASTIC game Naughty Dog!

The second half has tou play as a character you hate is unlikable and most importantly dont care about. The game even as neil himself has always said is about joel and ellie and the sections of the game that showcase that relationship front and center are the best of gaming its what we expect and wanted. Killing joel in the prologue is t what i expected but that choice needed to be respected by the developers. Abby should have died and ellie would have got the revenger WE deserved whether that makes us feel better or worse anout our choices… Expand

    The story(so literally the whole point of single player game) is trash. I don't know who approved it and I know I'll be attacked by soyboys and SJWs, but this is what reviews are for.
    Devs leaked ENTIRE STORY months before release. Most fans didn't like it, what do devs do? Fix it? Take advice from people that are actually gonna play the game? Nope, blame it on homophobia and release it as it is and hope for idiots to buy a bad game because it has homosexual and trans characters in it which is pretty ironic because people who scream the most about it are the most responsible for it. No, we do not care that Ellie is a lesbian. No, we do not care that a dude decided that he feels like a woman. We care about the story and the story here was sacrificed to make a "look here's the story of a lesbian and a pregnant jewish lesbian and then trans woman who isn't killed by angry lesbian because plot armor and then stuff happens".
    To this point I thought that new trilogy of SW was bad. Congratulations you're now #1 in bad storytelling.

    Disappointing sequel to an amazing series. Wish i could somehow forget about it. Personally i was fine with all the LBTQ stuff but the main problem is that the developers forgets one of the main aspects that made Last Of Us 1 good and that was the relationship between Joel and Ellie. To kill of one of the fan favorite in such a way without even an honorable death and forcing the players to somehow like Abby and understand her intentions is honestly idiotic. And then the horrific ending to add on to it where the player plays through the entire game only find out that Ellie wont take revenge because of some dumb reason even though Abby bit 2 of her fingers off like jeez. Than you have those brief moments that really connect you to the game and it's characters. Which Naughty Dog did a fantastic job in doing. But it doesn't make up for the mediocre revenge story. They could have taken story at any direction 3 hours into the game. I feel like most critics are giving it superb ratings more for the graphics and the gameplay. Which they should always focus on what comes first, the story! Especially with a game that is story based only! And with that regard. I feel that this game was overhyped! It's a Rent, not a Buy. I do recommend people playing it for themselves and renting before spending $60 on it. Some will like part 2 some will dislike it. Graphics: 10/10
