    Possibly the most boring game I've WATCHED since Death Stranding. Story telling ability in this game are non-existant. It's a shotgun of exposition. Speaking of story telling, if you have a political message or any message then hire people who can subtlety interweave the message into the experience.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. game is still a walking simulator, no new developments in game mechanics, now to the nitty gritty, don't get me wrong I have no issues with gay people irl or in the game I'm playing and I got no problems with some girl on girl action, my issue with it is it seems less like a story development and more of a marketing ploy to get traction in the media(I have no gripes with gay people being in games, I think they should be better represented, I just think using it as a marketing tactic is scummy)… Expand

They barley give any character development to Ellie and Dina and concentrate blatantly on Abby.     Absolutely terrible! I'm a huge fan of the original and I hate myself for taking the bate for part 2. This game is heavily founded on pushing views and agendas in which highly affects everything about this game...a chain reaction of terrible writing, story telling, plot holes from small to big.     Besides the graphics & gameplay this game is not worth the money & surely not worth your time. If you were a fan of the first game there are bits and pieces of ellie & joel fan service sprinkled out throughout the story , besides this I can't think of any other redeeming qualities that would make this game worth anybody's time.

    The controls were a bit clunky but the mechanics overall are decent. My issue is with the story and characters itself. I personally found, compared to the first game, the overall writing as not as good. Additionally, the characters were less developed and relatable and I found myself less attached to them. Gameplay wise, stacks up to first.

    I am so glad I had the beginning spoiled for me because I had originally pre-ordered the Ellie edition, I have no idea what that would have done to me mentally, owning 300 dollars worth of stuff from such a terrible game. I would have lost it. As it was I played for free thanks to a friend that gave me their game after they quit at 2 hours in, I still feel like I deserve a refund.    … Expand

Character development is garbage, characters do things that their character wouldn't do, Plots holes, TERRIBLE killing Joel like that, it just felt like lots of luck and no actual story development. I did enjoy what they did with Ellie. But the story is terrible. I hate how they used Joel in this. He was the main character in the first one and they used Him in a terrible way. I would have prefer him to sacrifice him self to save Ellie. and the ending is one of the worst ending to a game that I have ever seen. It was so bad. This game is not only disrespectful to the first and it's respectable characters but the writing is just everywhere it feels at best like a fanfiction fever dream by Neil druckmann. To anyone who loveed the first game just like me I highly recommend not playing this as it will ruin not only your memories of the game but ruin the story. Start the game as normal in town you're the Talk of the Town because he kissed a girl and wow okay nothing to do with zombies nothing to do with the first story so let's let's get on with it secondly you leave leave Jackson a small community Town put together by Maria Joel's brother's wife. You leave to go on patrols which was pretty cool and makes sense you want to control around the whole surrounding area in case any infected get to close it quickly switches to this unlikeable character named Abby an overly muscular girl I think as they said they did not want to portray gender in this game for some reason which makes us scared to look really stupid and dumb and someone I wouldn't want to play as picture Jordan Vaughn Stranglehold from Fairly Odd Parents mixed with the likeness of the boy who played in the reboot in Rob Zombie's Halloween movie the whole reason of her story from what I can muster because I couldn't find myself to finish this game even though I know what happens is she's getting revenge for Joel killing her parents now there's nothing wrong with a good Revenge story but when you're playing as Ellie you go on a murderous Rampage and kill almost everyone except responsible except for Abby. As for the game play you'll hear a lot of positive feedback that's because they didn't change the formula which is amazing they did update the graphics and some mechanics which was also a change of pace but this proves that game play can't and will not be the only thing that drives the game I've been waiting and a lot of people have been waiting 7 years for this game only for Neil druckmann and naughty dog to s*** on us it is unbelievable I feel like this is a nightmare I encourage you guys definitely to watch more reviews Maybe on YouTube and see for yourself just do not play the game thank you.… Expand

Visually the game is stunning but is ultimately destroyed from the inside by the story as a whole and terrible choices made along the way. Watching Abby kill one of the main characters of the game 2 hours in only for her to get away free is abismal story telling. They never created the sympothy that they were going for and forcing the players to play a character we all despise is idiotic beyond belief. Had I not spent so much money on the game I would've uninstalled at that moment. This game goes so far away from what made the first game so amazing. It wasn't just the graphics but the story of two strangers connecting on such a deep and personal level and ultimately one of the individuals (Joel) killing for the other as any father would do for his daufhter. This game made me sick, the story was terrible, and I no longer trust naughty dog. Thatt is 30+ hours and $60+ I will never get back and will forever be scarred by a once great series imploding before my eyes.… Expand

    Graphics at 710, standard 2020. The gameplay does not bring anything new. Don't expect a paradise of feelings like in the first part. It's an ordinary game, normally made, with an ordinary story. It's not exciting.

    They probably decided to do the second part just for SJW and LGBT. If they hadn’t lied in their videos, there would have been 5 points

A bland, boring, poorly-written slogfest that felt more like a slap in the face to anyone that absolutely loved the original and was looking forward to a satisfying conclusion. I'm only giving it a 1 because some of the new weapons and mechanics were slightlyI expected more when I pre-ordered this game. I wanted the story to make me love the old characters even more and enjoy the new take on these new characters. But what I got was a bad story with an okay game. I really hated the new Abby character for what she did to our old main protagonist Joel because it didn’t feel earned at all. It felt so sloppy as if they just took this from fan from tumblr. They made the game, honestly pretty boring. However I do like the inclusion of all the accessibility and feature that this game provides. The graphics looks amazing, but that was honestly already expected with these Sony titles. This story is a mess with plot holes with gameplay that feels off and stiff.… Expand

    I do not recommend buying this pile of trash unless you enjoy a terribly written, depressing game that tries to preach some cliche message about revenge in a not-very-clever way. If you ONLY like a game because of it having representation of all types of people, then you'll love it. Beyond angry that I spent money on it. Hopefully I can still return it.

The original brought us to tears and was a masterful work of storytelling. It brought a father/daughter gaming team closer together at the time too. That seems to have beem lost on this one.... We took turns playing coop while looking for more story content for the legacy characters whom we grew to love. This was an awful letdown for us both. We loved the original but this one is not for us.

    Let this statement sink in.

    I have been playing video games for over a decade now. PlayStation 1, PlayStation 2, GameBoy, N64 up to this date. It is mind-blowing because I never felt the urge to create an account just to rate a game bad. I thought that everything has it's own reasons, but this game is different.

    While TLOU1 is a masterpiece by itself with incredible storytelling, great character development, and an emotional connection, TLOU2 became like GoT Season 8. Something that should have NEVER existed like that in the first place.

    If I wanted to play revenge with **** storytelling, I would've played GTA Online because no story is better than this piece of garbage. They not only killed Joel "just like that" with an absolutely trash story leading up to that, they also turned a great character like Ellie into a one-dimensional revenge-seeking character that can't be seen as anything else but that.

    The most ridiculous part are the "journalists" that are rating this game as an absolutely masterpiece. It is an absolute dumpster fire and it shows what's wrong with gaming journalism. Unreliability.

    There has been a Korean streamer who's reaction sums up the game perfectly. He put the disc out, got a scissor, and just cut the disc. This is TLOU2.    … Expand
