    The gameplay is not very different on the first part, the story is junk, and the graphics are average compared to the other exclusives (GOW-Uncharted -...) The game is not like what we expected and it did not deserve all these years of waiting.

    Amazing game. Don’t let the haters get to you. Play with an open mind and as spoiler free as possible. Amazing visuals, gameplay, voice acting and Mocap. Story is powerful and engaging, not quite as tight as the first but still far more interesting than most any other game on the market.

    This was rather disappointing. While it wasn't as bad as some made it out to be, it still often felt like the creators of the game were actively trying to make you not like the game. If that was their goal they definitely succeeded.

    The story isn’t vague, bad or dissapointing. It’s a matter of perspective and the game tries to give both perspectives to the player so that the usual linearity of a video game is broken an renewed.

Must play a hateful caracter like in "Hatred", you can't pass.. with pseudo arguments to let think there is a reason to play this caracter. Nothing common with the game's lore. When I played the game I was pretending to have a really good story and a comfortable final with Ellie and Joel. And it was a completely bad idea to introduce a character that never gonna be important like the doctor from the fireflies or Abby and her friends. If Naughty Dog introduce some new infected to the game that was a good idea but killed one of the main character that is a completely bad idea .     I am a fan of part 1 but this time the story does not fit to me, the trailers of the past showed situations which do not exist and that destroys the core of the story for me. The game-play did not change there is no real development in my opinion. The graphics are good thats why i gave 3 points but even the sound and the music is not really the best choice. Totally new felt hollow and forced. Like someone told that sorry we need to have these lesbians. Also somehow it felt that all were like Child. Single guy sleeping with all and no one grown to have morality. Same way moving action. Not many different enemies. Started like there was threath but then just Sam record all the time. Background just change. Beautifull game but hollow feeling that had a twist but did not lead to anything. Also there was nothing to react. Just pipe walking. So big potial but average. First game I thought nice this long but then too obvious. Just felt that characters Love was all over the place meaning anything. Telling we want tell its ok generally to play with every woman and they dont care but non heterosexual Love is sacrid and its respected with mortal limits.     I don’t understand why the game is getting so much hate. It’s a lot of fun and it looks amazing. Not much more I want. I like the story. In the world that the characters live in it makes sense to me as to why the story does what it does. Would highly recommend.

The problem with the story it takes away what you loved about the 1st game and forces you to player as a character you despise so as a player you become dis interested in the 2nd half of the game. The gameplay elements were fun but the story made me rush to completion as I simply became disengaged. There are character choices that are really out of character and I really believe they have killed this franchise. The marketing for the game was very misleading and the developers have the arrogance to think they can emotionally manipulate you with such negativity and then sympathise. I know there were elements like that in the 1st game but it never felt hostile. They cant fix what they have done and the writers at naughty dog seriously need to be reviewed as this story is very amateur. If Bruce Straley was apart of this project we may have got a better story. I really wish this game wasn't made. What a waste. The character Abby can go f herself and so can naughty dog with there **** crunch culture. But well done on delivering your torture porn game if that was your goal    … Expand

    If you have played the original TLOU then you most likely would agree that what made the game so special was the story of Joel and Ellie bonding, Joel learning to care for a young girl after losing his own daughter, their journey and the characters they met along the way.     The story in this game feels empty compared to before, the emotion has been replaced by endless violence. The new characters have no depth, I never felt any real connection between them while I played. Characters would die and be forgotten for the rest of the game before you really even knew who they was. The only time they did a decent job building a relationship in this game was between Abbie and Owen. And the problem was I didnt really care because of the weird order they told this story in. I understood that they wanted us to see things fromthe other perspective (Abbies) to show that everyone can be the villian or the hero in a story like this. But that was the only message and it was drilled home for 30 hours. The game needed to build Ellies relationship alot more to make me care. The game needed to make me care about Abbie BEFORE she takes her golf lesson. Because after that playing Abbie was a massive depressing chore. 30 of hours of gameplay and cut scenes and at the end I couldnt care less about anyone or anything. I shouldnt get to the end of the game and not care, not this game. The only thing that I wanted was at the end was to get my revenge and they didnt even allow us that!


    Gameplay and Graphics are fine (Nothing special) but was never the reason I played the game. Just a massive let down. Played for 30 hours and the entire game is just forcing you to do stuff you dont want to do and then makes you feel **** about it. Lucky to get a 2/10 from me but I felt generous.    … Expand

    I’ve read elsewhere that this game would have been better served with two separate run throughs - an Ellie primary with a conclusion, and an Abby post finish that brings nuance (if you wish to revisit). For me, pretending that this is the case is the only way the disappointment dampens.

    Other points
    *Playing as Abby halfway through the game for hours on end was a gut punch and not what I signed up for. No wonder the embargo hid this aspect of the game.

    *On the social justice stuff - why did it have to be so in your face. Cool, Ellie is gay. Fine. We explored this aspect in the first dlc. Pushing it so hard this time with a trans arc for a major side character? Much of this story was written for an echo chamber that will never play the game.    … Expand

The gameplay loop loses its novelty very fast after you learn to recognize all the animations. The graphics seem to be the only real improvement here.     A good idea, poorly executed. Everything else was just a slightly tarted up Uncharted 4 - which would be a better option to play as it least it comes with some sort of sense of achievement which, I feel, is why gamers game instead of just going to the movies.

    No intention of continuing until the end, would return unfinished if I could get my money refunded. Save your cash and your time, both would be better spent elsewhere.    … Expand

Playing this game feels like playing a third game in the series after skipping the actual sequel. After finishing this game I was in absolute disbelief. I have no desire for any more from this IP. At least the first game is still good.

Nothing in the story seemed like they actually tried to work on other than to get the main point out. It is the biggest let down I had felt since starting to play story based games.

Graphics is okay, but don't change the fact that the game is horrible. I know damn well that people who review this game a 94% were probably paid to do so.     Bought the game, played and finished it. I understand why people gave this game a very low rating. The gameplay, atmosphere, sound and gameplay is there. but the story won't just fit on the first game, not at all. The story makes no sense. its like playing a flappy bird game, just went straight for it because the game had no story to tell.

    But the story. Oh god the story. Seeing Joel killed so early on - sucked, but I coped with it, it was horrible, brutal, nasty and Negan-esque, but I coped.

    Taking nothing away from the other deaths (JESSE!) It was the Joel death that lingered with me... And then Naughty Dog went and did it. In a confusing, anger inducing moment I can't help but abso-f**king-lutely hate them for... They made me *be* the character that took our beloved Joel away.

    I felt nothing for Abby. Not when we find out it's her dad's death at the hands of Joel (during Ellie's rescue in tlou) that led to this path of vengeance, Not when she we see her go through some horrible - horrible things to get to where and who she is now. Not when Ellie takes her friends and colleagues away. And certainly not when we see Joel spat on as he lays there. Abby had been cruelly beating him for a long time before killing him in front of his surrogate daughter. She also does it shortly after he and Tommy have just saved her from a massive horde of infected.

    How are we supposed to just switch on a care for this character.

    How?!?!

    There was no redemption.

    None.

    There was Naughty Dogs message of: Life is harsh - you won't get what you want. There is no happy ending. Oh... And we'll retcon areas of a game you loved because it fits the current narrative.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. no idea how the metascore can include so many 100/100 ratings... the game continues with the classic, loveable tlou aesthetic, mechanic and movement system we all loved so much, but quickly turned into a mess of a game through losing itself in too many character plots, time changes and forced feelings about these aspects. in no way, shape or form could the loyal fan base and lovers of tlou1 ever consider liking abby to the same degree that we love/loved ellie and joel. the game is a real disappointment and insult to those that cared and the purity of these characters. joel, killed off instantly. ellie, changed into a political statement about naughty dogs acceptable of gay/lesbian relationships. the very essence of joel was spread throughout the game in flash backs, to make players miss him and find out more about him, when, in my opinion, he was used to re-grasp player attention after playing a character they didn’t care about for so long. joel is debatably my favourite video game character ever. and those flash backs were my favourite part of the game, returning to what made tlou1 so great. raw emotion and attachment through a character, by choice, and through development, through the softening of himself, through the real energy and love that he brought to all his scenes. comparing him to abby can never be done, as she was seen by others as a brutal killer, coined by mel as a horrible person, and continually considered that by players regardless of her small deeds to redeem herself. the game touched on so many things that didn’t get enough screen time jackson - 1 scene, if that isaac - 2 scenes, after being hyped up for so long santa barbara - ‘2 levels’ tacked on the seraphite prophet - killed instantly when the two run always enter the game so many themes that deserved more time, but instead focused on a completely screwed love story about abby and owen, that no one cared about.... i wish i loved this game and i could continue, but i really wish that joel and ellie’s characters were treated with more care and respect. if this game was never released, i would be far happier, having a pure and faultless remembrance of these characters, forever being my favourites ever.. but alas, they were dragged through a shameful mess of vengeance, split timelines, plots with limited memorable scenes. my favourite parts included most ellie levels, the wlf truck scene and predominantly the joel flash backs. rest in peace joel and ellie, you will both be remembered for part 1.… Expand

Game mechanics still the same lousy and crappy no changes whatsoever only reason the first one was huge success is the story. No choice to let go off the dog, and was promise that they won't include dog killing on the game. Abby is such bad character and making Ellie the villian of the story, not only she spare the murderer of Joel but Ellie doesn't even get happy ending after all her suffering...     The gameplay is the same as the first game which was made 7 years ago. The story is odd and seems out of order. Character interaction is bad and dialogue is long and boring. The best part of this game is the art and music even if it makes your ps4 sound like a jet engine.

The worst is how Naughtydog is responding to their fans, by ignoring the voice of loyal followers of the franchise and milking critics to write as they say. Pathetic and disappointing

Naughty Dog refrained from creating a cash grab feel good game, and instead tells a moving tale about revenge, humanity and the consequences of others, and your own actions. The game is gripping, moving, unrelenting, and somber, and people dislike it for it. Yet that was the tone of the first game. I really don't think anyone could create a real opinion on it unless you play it for yourself, or watch someone play through it fully. I won't ramble on about the graphics, but the gameplay is very similar to the first game, but almost every aspect of it has been improved here. Environments are huge, combat scenarios can be tackled in 10-20 different ways. There are some flaws here, as no game is perfect. Something that definitely could have been improved in my opinion, is the environmental storytelling. To much of it depends on stopping and reading a note, and I would have loved some fallout-esque set design. The pacing of the game can also be criticized, as the game can feel drawn out at some moments, both on the front end of the game, and the back end. They could have shaved 4-5 hours off, and I feel the the story would have flowed a bit better.

    All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my time in this game. Sure I didn't leave with a massive grin on my face, but not every story is ment to invoke that kind of response, but that sure as hell doesn't mean it's a bad story.    … Expand

    Just finished playing Last of Us 2,
    And I think it's not worth it and definitely, not at a masterpiece,
    This time Naughty Dog botched up the story, without hearing to the fans that were so much excited about this game, and I was one of them.
    Gameplay, Sound, Graphics are all awesome and really like playing it but for what,
    The STORY does not have a conclusion and neither does the starting, on how the game does it with its most beloved character.
    Here is what I felt after playing the entire game:

    # Why keep crying and remembering the main character (that you loved him so much) and Giving him death in the first place.
    * Decent gameplay from this main character to the end of the game was expected
    # The First part of "Last of Us" makes us think about the decision that Joel has taken in the end, and even now, it's debatable. I shook me for one week after I played it.
    * Part 2, does not have any impact, except Its gameplay, which I can play in multiplayer factions anytime, plus its ending seemed like a typical movie ending which was not so hard to figure.
    # in the first part I liked bonding between two characters, like Tom and Jerry, Chip and Dale, etc
    * Here two don't have access to Second Character.

    In the Ending when Joel Said: "If somehow the Lord gave me a second chance at that moment... I would do it all over again".

    And that's what we wanted and I think most of the fans will agree with me,

    This Game could have been much better but don't know what the Studio was thinking about,
    they made it worse like Game of Thrones ending, I think its goodbye to last of us franchise.
