    At this point I will not give Naughty Dog any money. The game gets 1 for graphics, physics, and art style. I can't deny that the visuals are astounding until you look at Abby. Nobody asked for Abby, nobody wanted Abby, yet the Ma'am was shoved down our throats regardless. Unless the Online comes out with great potential I will not spend a penny.

    Naughty dog had such a good thing going with the first game but they took the main characters we cherished and dragged them in the mud. Be it the physical torture and murder of Joel right in front of Ellie, or Ellie's wild goose chase through a city fighting two warring factions. All for nothing. And the nerve of naughty dog to try and make us feel bad for Abby by having us play as her forNaughty dog had such a good thing going with the first game but they took the main characters we cherished and dragged them in the mud. Be it the physical torture and murder of Joel right in front of Ellie, or Ellie's wild goose chase through a city fighting two warring factions. All for nothing. And the nerve of naughty dog to try and make us feel bad for Abby by having us play as her for ten hours with hardly any context after doing what she did. And to top it all off, they try to crudely force propaganda in our faces while we're forced to kill dogs that we later play with in a flashback.

    This is not a happy Story and this is not written for you. But regardless of that, it's a compelling story nonetheless. It's a bold move for the team behind this to tell a story that pushes the boundaries of how games should be made and told. It's a revenge plot, sure, but it's narrative and character review and how real and raw it is depicted in that world makes all sense. While I do love this game so much and how good it is, it is a depressing game and you might want to take a few days, maybe weeks before you start all over again. I was worried about both sides and couldn't decide for myself who really right. Can revenge for a loved one soothe the soul? The soul that doesn't understand that revenge will not stop her suffering, but only give rise to a greater evil about which it is scary to think? All this can be considered very broadly and for a long time. The LGBT agenda with which many are furious... so much little, I almost didn't notice it. Honestly, analyzing the whole game, it's difficult to say that this is propaganda or an agenda. Special thanks to Gustavo for his great soundtrack. This person knows his job and helps to feel what the players should feel at the moment. As a result, I finished the game with a very heavy load on my soul. Directly fully aware of everything that happened before. It’s hard, very hard to accept all of it, but it’s necessary. I look forward to continuing the story. I hope it will be. It's impossible that the story ends like this. It's obvious. Such a mixed feeling aroused in general. I bet 10/10, because I think that the game is made perfectly in every aspect.

    Игра смогла задеть струны моей души. Смогла сыграть неплохую мелодию на моих чувствах. Я переживал за обе стороны и не смог решить для себя, кто же на самом деле прав. Может ли месть за родного человека успокоить душу? Душу, не понимающую, что месть не остановит её страдания, а только породит большее зло про которое страшно подумать? Всё это очень широко и долго можно рассматривать. ЛГБТ-повестка с которой многие бесятся... Её мало, я почти не заметил. Честно, анализируя всю игру, то трудно сказать, что это пропаганда или повестка.
    Отдельное спасибо Густаво за его великолепные саундтреки. Этот человек знает своё дело и помогает почувствовать то, что должны чувствовать игроки в данный момент.
    По итогу, закончил игру с очень тяжёлым грузом на душе. Прям полностью осознавая всё происходящее ранее. Тяжело, очень тяжело принять всё, но нужно. Жду продолжения истории. Надеюсь, оно будет. Нельзя, чтобы так закончилось всё. Это же очевидно. Такое смешанное чувство вызвало в общем. Ставлю 10/10, потому что считаю, что игра сделана отлично. С какой стороны не глянь.    … Expand

    Jogo absurdamente bom do início ao fim! ND mandou mto bem em suas escolhas de roteiro. Gráficos lindos, jogabilidade maravilhosa, trilha sonora minimalista e pontual. Tenho pena de quem não entendeu e não sentiu tudo oq o jogo propõe.

    One of the best games that ever created. The gameplay is just great and addictive. I loved the story and I think that’s better than the first one. The graphics are arguably the best that we’ve ever seen on PS4 and the sound’s amazing. Also Gustavo Santaolalla and MAC Quayle made a magnificent soundtrack that fits perfectly well in the game.

    The Last of Us was one of my favorite games of all-time. Replaying it prior to the release of its sequel, I realized just how much my love for the game is carried by my love for the characters. Characters I waited 7 years to re-engage with, only for their lives and their lore to be all but thrown away.

A solid 4/10, earned entirely by those in charge of animation, world design, and Gustavo Santaolalla.

    I’ll start of by saying TLoU is one of my top five games of all time. 10/10. I felt the sequel was harder to get in to. Gameplay is refined but since the game is a lot longer than its first outing those refinements don’t go far enough anyway. I found myself loving the exploration and actually getting annoyed when combat “got in the way”. I really like being conflicted and finding myself loathing the presumed protagonist but at the same time a lot of the choices that the protagonist does doesn’t really feel in character/plausible. When taking a step back and looking at this from a broader perspective, comparing it to all games and not just it’s prequel, it’s still a great game. Graphics, audio, animation and voice acting is god tier. The narrative and character development, though weaker than the first game, is also high class. As far as controversies regarding the game go I’d say: just play the game. The game does not do what it’s accused of. It does not push any agenda down your throat. It doesn’t fail in its story telling due to taking a political stance. Sure it’s not as good as the first game but it’s not due to anything related to the “controversy”. I think the game would have felt like a better experience if they skipped some acts/story beats and focused more on the driving factors of the main protagonist. It was also too long: the naughty dog gameplay loop is not fun and/or varied enough to last for 25 hours.… Expand

Seria muy facil haber hecho un juego que le agradara a todo el mundo (Fan Service) pero este juego es mas que eso, es totalmente realista, crudo y violento. La muerte de Joel en un mundo apocalíptico cómo the last of us nos a implementado debió ser asi, no es ningun heroe, no es Nathan Drake; su muerte fue dolorosa y produce mucho odio sin duda pero el tomo una decisión, y tarde o temprano le llegaria la consecuencia. Estar en los zapatos de Abby nos hace ver muchas cosas, entender la situación y apesar de que me sigue doliendo la muerte de Joel, entiendo y siento empatia por ella. Su padre, un hombre bueno y que queria volver al mundo a la normalidad fue asesinado por nuestro protagonista, es normal y entendible que se quiera venganza por eso, sin embargo mientras juegas te das cuenta que la venganza solo trae mas problemas y es un ciclo sin fin, siempre podemos perder algo mas de nosotros y la venganza te lo quita todo, asi como Abby y Ellie lo perdieron. Recomiendo encarecidamente este juego, no se dejen llevar por el hate y disfrutenlo por ustedes mismos.… Expand

    Last of us was an incredible game driven by story and incredible actors with suspenseful gameplay. Last of Us 2 capitalized on this. This game did a great job at telling a difficult and painful story. Then the game goes and takes a turn and makes you play through the story from the other perspective which was done very well. Last of Us 2 will stand as my favorite game of all time.

    Simply put, TLOU prt 2 is a greater game in every way than the original.The only thing that can really be debated is the story and characters. Flat out, I really was not interested in Dina or Jesse.Perhaps this is because they did not get much screen time, especially Jesse. Regarding the story, I greatly enjoyed it. It is compelling in its own unique way, in DIRECT contrast to the firstSimply put, TLOU prt 2 is a greater game in every way than the original.The only thing that can really be debated is the story and characters. I just think Naughty Dog continued the story in the most realistic and likely way, rather than the way fans were praying and wishing to see. Its a brutal story of revenge. Just because it doesn't follow your prenotion of what a story should be doesn't make it "awful story-telling" and even worse "ruins the whole game". Another thing that pisses me off is when people say there are plot holes, but then fail to mention said plot holes. Maybe i am wrong, but I don't think there are any serious or major plot holes. That's my 2 cents, hopefully I don't get ddosed or death threats but you know how it goes.… Expand

After thinking about it for a week, I decided I was going to wait till reviews to make a final decision. Well a day after release I bought the game and it took me 15 days to beat it, 30hrs and 5 mins playing time. Overall I enjoyed the game, some of Abby’s sections dragged on a bit tho. Ellie’s Seattle Day 1 and 2 were my favorite chapters, I did enjoy Abby’s day 2. I think TLOU2 is a 9/10 game. The gameplay was smooth, the graphics are beautiful, and the story besides a few flaws is amazing.… Expand

No queria criticar este juego pero tenia que desahogarme de alguna manera y describir el problema que tengo con esto .Naugthy dog es una de mis empresas favoritas creci con sus videojuegos como Crash o Jak an Daxter o mas recientemente con la saga de Uncharted y con the last of us ese fanatismo crecio mucho mas buena historia , personajes carismaticos y uno de los mas tristes prologos en los videojuegos viendo como la vida de un personaje (joel) se destruyo en un par de minutos . Despues de eso los fans soñabamos con una segunda parte y luego con el trailer estabamos demasiado ilusionados luego el 19 de junio llego el sueño de todo fan lastimosamente a la hora imedia de juego todo se va ala mierda desde que muere joel el juego entero se jodio primero creando un odio tremendo haca abby por matar a unos de los protagonistas depues de eso creerian que seria una villana ....pues no .Literalmente ala persona que mato al personje mas querido de la saga se vuelve a jugar en casi todos el juego y igual se esparaba que joel muriera pero no de una forma tan ridicula .Parece que a naugthy dog les importa 3 pares de cojones a los fans y se dejan llevar por lo politicamente correcto ,tambien aunque no lo crean a no la reconozco paso de ser de bastante carismatica a latipica adolescente rebelde mas gichle y saturada ademas de que joel hizo una puta masacre para salvar a ellie porque simplemete no queria perder lo unico bueno que le ha pasado en esos ultimos meses para que despues ellie al persona que mato a jeese y a joel coño JOEL¡¡¡ para que despues la deje vivir y a ella dejandola sin nada sin amigos, sin dedos, sin ua figura paterna nada.Lev y Abby son unos personajes de lo menos carismaticos (Al menos en mi opinion) lo peor es que no va a ver ni un puto dlc dejandonos con una sed de venganza en la garganta inimaginable hubiera estado bien que hubieran varios finales por ejemplo uno en el joel no muera o el que mas deseabamos ...Matar a Abby para mi sindudas el el juego con la peor historia de naugthy dog eso si lo que mas resalta de juego son los graficos que excelentes de eso no hay duda la banda sonora y todo lo demas esta excelente pero unas buenas graficas no son nada con una buena historia .Ademas el hecho de que abby cobre venganza por su padre no nos transmite nada si hubiera aparecido en el primer juego algo la entenderiamos peo no aparece en este juego como si nada .Joel era el ejemplo perfecto de un personaje con el que no se toca , si el videojuegos hubiera salido un poco antes (Cuando lo politicamente correcto no afectaba tanto en la comercalizacion ) seguramente el juego seria excelent .En fin lo criticaria mas pero no me dan ganas mis concluciones son :¿Mejor que el primero? : Para nada Mejores graficos: En lo absoluto ¿Game of the year 2020?: Para nada ¿Vale la pena?: en mi sincera opinion el juego tiene que entrenerte para ser divertido y the last of us 2 si lo es pero si quieres una buena historia, desarrollo de personajes y un ben final este juego no te lo recomiendo para nada… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game is phenomenal. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever played and it took huge risks that many devs would never take.

    The bad first:

    My only negatives are that the gameplay can get a little repetitive after awhile and that yes, some of the ways things play out are a little unrealistic, but I understand why realism is sacrificed in order to make the experience fun for the player.

    The good:

    The story is amazing if you can allow yourself to exhibit a little empathy. This game is set in a tough, cruel, brutal setting. It’s not a world of heroes and villains, it’s a world of survivors who have the opportunity take the law into their own hands.

    Graphics and score are breathtaking.

    Relatable characters that you get attached to. It’s clear at this point that people are divided on this, but personally my favorite performance was Laura Bailey as Abby. Abby is unlike any female pro/an(?)tagonist I’ve seen in 30 years of gaming and I really appreciated seeing someone portrayed that doesn’t fit this cookie cutter mold you see from many female characters. I fear the backlash from the mentally unstable, privileged, disgusting losers who are sending death threats (DEATH THREATS!?!?) to writers and voice actors over a freaking video game will deter devs from taking these type of risks in a future. My suggestion is that if you are one of these people that are easily triggered anytime anyone other than white males get a little shine, if you feel attacked every single time something is praised that’s not white male dominated, if you are one of these people that can’t wait to tear down successful media that doesn’t necessarily represent you, please stay away from this game. Go play Super Mario and the hundreds of other games that have been created throughout history with only you in mind and live your little power fantasy. Your hatred is only making this game more talked about, more relevant and more successful.

    My suggestion that if you are actively sending death threats to anyone, but in this case particularly people who are simply writing and performing a piece of entertainment that literally means nothing in the most literal sense that nothing can mean in the grand scheme of things, is to please, please seek help. You are an embarrassment to the human race.

    Congrats Naughty Dog! I hope to see at least one more game set in this universe as I ended the game only wanting more, but if this was the last ride, it was still more than we deserved.    … Expand

    El juego es bastante Genial, la jugabilidad es buena y los gráficos son preciosos.
    En cuanto la historia, no es mala como muchos dicen, personalmente a mí me gustó bastante la historia....no sé si supere al primer juego pero jugar de dos o mas parte 2 es una gran experiencia.

    Story was messy. Flashback within flashbacks. 11 hr cliffhangers that made getting through almost half the game a chore to play through. Inconsistent motivation & motives of characters. Besides like one boss, the infected felt like a random nuisance instead of the threat they were in the first game.

I feel like it has to be said, but this isn't a good game(anyone trying to say it's a 10/10 clearly is trying to sell something or impress someone), it isn't a bad game either (certainly not a 0/10, anyone who says that isn't being realistic). I have recently finished the game and there are mixed feelings. On the one hand it is very clear to see how amazing the graphics are, the voice acting, the animations, sound designs, it very easy to see the work that was put into it. However that makes it even more painful when you have to slog through the terrible writing (I don't give a damn about the controversially aspects; killing off Joe doesn't mean the game is bad and having LGBQTA representation doesn't automatically make this a good game.). There are huge plot holes in the story, the pacing is off, the character's motivation, drive and resolution it's just not fleshed out enough. It's as if Neil Druckman wanted to stuff a bunch bold ideas and concepts into this one game, but didn't want to spend the time building the characters and settings, to actually flesh these ideas out, which leave a lot of half finished ideas just sitting out, for the gamer to try and put together on their own. Which is incredibly disappointing seeing as story was the strongest aspect in the Last of Us. The only thing I can think of that could explain this large discrepancy in story writing quality; based on my research the changes was in Neil Druckman, the original Last of Us had a large writing team who helped him make the story what it was, they helped solidify the good ideas and they quickly cut away his bad ideas. However in the Last of Us 2 the team has been more hesitant to try and correct him as they feared "voicing their concerns with the story" would lead to their termination. That issue clearly shows in the erratic storytelling in this game. The only good thing I can say that came from this game is that recent reporting have shown that a lot of employees have left Naughty Dog, which means those amazing animators, voice actors, sound designers, graphic artists and even the writers who were too afraid to speak up against Neil Druckman, will be working on other(hopefully), better written games.… Expand

    Não entendi porque foi necessário o contexto sexual, onde a personagem é lésbica, sinceramente não entendi onde isso se encaixa na estória dos zumbis e sobrevivência. Muito decepcionado, gráficos ok, nada demais, o primeiro jogo é muito melhor. Acho q seria mais interessante por exemplo a Ellie ter filhos e esses seriam imunes e espalhariam seus genes. Them they give you a horrible revenge plot that ends up falling through anyway. PLUS they make you play as Abby for a whole chunk of the game after his death. This means that players are forced to play a character that they hate for a large portion of the game. It makes the game unbelievably hard to finish playing. Then Ellie’s girlfriend leaves her and on top of that Ellie can no longer play Joel’s song. Terrible game, don’t recommend.… Expand

Through game system mechanics, AI combatant movement, and detailed care to every major character; they have created a narrative that is utterly immersive and flushed out. The game had to be polarizing- similar to the first game, but it was a journey to understanding character development and storylines unlike any I’ve seen. The death of Joel hits like an absolute punch to the gut and sets the stage for what true character immersion needs to be. Taking over Abby’s story was a challenge, but one that absolutely triumphs- making the player wrestle with who the “Last of Us” truly are. I was a wreck after finishing my first play through and could not imagine the amount of hard work, diligence, and determination Neal Druckmann and the rest of the Naughty Dog team went through to pull this off.     This game capitalises on everything that was good about number one and adds so much on top. Makes you feel emotions for characters that you initially hate. People hating on this game are generally homophobic, transphobic or just can’t deal with deaths on main characters in video games (which to me are very necessary deaths as it adds to the realism; your favourite people irl aren’t just going to survive just because you like them). It is terrifying, beautiful, the gameplay is amazing, the AI is ridiculously clever. I loved Abby and Lev’s relationship, the ending was perfect and left me very satisfied but also hoping for more stories in this universe. Naughty dog really have outdone themselves with this game and I truly hope they ignore what most backwards people are saying about it.    … Expand

I have, figuratively, taken to pen on the furores surrounding the controversial subject matters within an unpopular storyline in ‘Last of Us 2’. This will be my first review, such as is my apathetic nature but I am compelled to because I recognise the detrimental impact the fallout will have on this game and potentially curtails the advent of evolutionary gaming that ‘Last of Us 2’ has paved.

    It was with consternation that some reviews across all boards were scathing and the social media awash with negative commentaries over the sequel to ‘Last of Us’ leading me to try and provide an alternative viewpoint. After a 34 hours play though to the completion of game, I can testify that it is an emotionally tough game that intellectually challenges you of the folly these paths our ‘heroines’, Ellie and Abby have embarked on. I use the term ‘heroines’ very loosely, because they are most certainly not that. What they are as human beings; flawed and brutalised by the reality of the world they exist in and striving to find a sense of purpose to their life and to hide their regrets behind a thin gossamer of revenge. You will be frustrated with Ellie as she progresses with single minded determination and her unwillingness to look beyond her failure to reconcile with Joel. You will dislike Abby immensely from the onset as she is institutionalised emotionally with a distinct lack of empathy, trapped in a strict lifestyle regimen of her making.

    The game is obviously not about Joel and Ellie, but about the consequences and ramifications of their actions and how they contributed to this game. It should go without saying that it can be hard to reconcile these emotive contexts but I believe that this is the whole point of the game. You are forced to carry out unpleasant actions in order to progress, violence is prevalent everywhere but they are not stylised nor sanitised. They are brutal and graphic leaving very little in the way of cathartic release you would get from mowing down a hoard of zombies with a .50 cal machine gun in a mainstream game. Perhaps this is an indicative of the pointless nature of vengeance where violence begets violence and how people can lose their ‘humanity’ as they dehumanise each other in the name of causes they adhere to. This is where the writing of the game starts to shine, I am not a writer nor am I a critic analysing and breaking down the storyline in minutiae. Owing to my deafness, I excel at body language and I have got to say this, that while the body language and the nuances of expressions and characteristics of the characters in the game have a long way to go, they are the best I’ve seen and I was able to develop connections from playing Ellie and Abby on a deeper level than I have with any other characters in other games. I believe the objective of this game is to demonstrate just how easy it is to lose yourself through the cyclical acts of violence based on the beliefs and values of what fraction you are in, as a part of a faction against another. This mirrors uncomfortably to present day political climate. What I really appreciated towards the climax of this game is how I empathised with Abby at the beach while I despaired of Ellie when she doggedly insisted on persisting on the destructive course.

    It does not matter if writing of the storyline is somehow incomplete or insufficient, what matters is that a connection is made to the said characters and there they can be fleshed out in your mind with gaps filled in to make sense of the complex relationships. At the closing scene, Ellie leaves the farmhouse a strong and resilient woman and the life she is leaving in the farmhouse is just simply a chapter that is closed. Joel still lives on in her.

    Now to address the elephant in the room, Ellie’s sexuality or her sexual preferences… I simply don’t care. As for Lev, Abby will do him right, gender is as meaningless to me as race or creed and sexual orientation. This is why I am concerned about ramifications of outcry over ‘Last of Us 2’. I can see that it is an incredibly difficult and complex game in terms of incorporating controversial agendas, introducing moral dilemmas and highlighting humanitarian issues to game playing (and re-playability). I really would like to see Naughty Dog push the boundary further in terms of game evolution to be a valid platform for full intellectual and emotive interactivity and see ‘Last of Us 2’ despite it’s shortcomings lauded for daring to force gamers to question their actions.    … Expand

    I really enjoyed the game and was glad, that i didnt read any of the leaks. The Last of Us part 2 feels like a organic transition from part 1. I wish they make a standalone with abbys and levs story searching do the fireflies.

O Jogo eletrônico possibilita uma maior afinidade com o personagens pois controlamos os mesmos e é como se o jogador estivesse fazendo aquela ação e não o personagem da ficção que controlamos. E nenhum jogo me fez ter um peso tão grande nas ações e atitudes que o personagem por mim controlado no jogo executou e com isso a jogatina forçou as minhas emoções há um limite que nenhuma mídia de entreterimento tinha alcançado antes. Teve momentos que tive que dar uma pausa na jogatina para conseguir me manter e absorver os acontecimentos da história, devida a imersão e tamanho o impacto que jogo teve sobre os meus sentimentos. Parabéns a ND pela coragem em sair do mais do mesmo e trazer uma história fenomenal e carregada de emoções.
    Quanto a parte técnica do jogo, procurei vasculhar cada cantinho do jogo e explorar o máximo possível os ambientes, com isso tive uma jogatina de cerca de 40 horas, e durante a mesma não identifiquei um único Bug. Os gráficos estão impressionantes e as interpretações e representações dos personagens beiram a perfeição, incrível o que ND fez na parte técnica. A jogabilidade do jogo é extremamente fluída, simplismente impressionante a fluidez alcançada, muito disso pela IA dos NPCs e inimigos ser quase perfeita. Como conclusão, passou a ser o melhor jogo eletrônico que já joguei superando na minha humilde opinião o primeiro jogo.    … Expand

This Is an artistic masterpiece by Niel Druckmann 5/5 in my opinion. Gameplay, sound effects, graphics were all top notch and pushed this Swann dance of the PS4 even Further ! The only negative I could find was the non advancement of Ellie s immunity, we didn't learn anything new about nor did it make the world of YOU advance in any way.     I can't begin to understand the other review here. The characters are, to me, extremely believable. I actually care for Ellie (and Dina) and the story is every bit as gripping as the first one. Sure there are things with the game that are less intriguing, running around in the open going from place A to place B for example. But these things does not diminish the fact that this game, this story, these characters are worthy of praise.

    Incredible story, interesting and engaging characters, made me jump out of my seat soooo many times. Honestly if you get to the end of the game and still dislike the game? You need to examine what your problem with female characters is, I've played 100s of male led games and didn't bat an eyelid. Get a grip like.

    A masterpiece on all levels. Period!

    All the 0 points reviews from the release day should be deleted. Especially when they mention the "bad" ending, which they couldn't knew about, since you need 25-30 hours to get to it. Afaik the leaked ending wasn't the true ending of the game and without any context to any of the leaked material you can't judge about it.

    The graphics and mechanics of the game are good, but they messed up with every single character. The story doesn't make any sense. It was a good idea but in practice it was trash. The ending was so bad and didn't make sense.

    I finished The Last of Us part II exactly 4 times and never once got bored. The game is seriously a masterpiece. Everyone says that the game is terrible, the story is awful, but I can say whoever says what is the best game ever. The game definitely deserves ten points. And I definitely recommend everyone to play.

    In addition to the improved mechanics and graphic evolution, the story makes you reflect on the consequences of the decisions you make throughout life. But it takes maturity to understand these issues.

Yes Joel dies, and it's hard at first to play as a character that just killed a beloved person. However as the story goes on you get to see why. Joel kills her father to saveSpoilers ahead. It makes you think about violence, and the futility of that violence, to a greater degree than any game I have ever played. I've found myself thinking about the game a lot (and feeling slightly depressed - not that the game is over, but about the story of the game itself).

    A note about the negative reviews - look at how many people created profiles just to pan this game. How many of these are multiple reviews by the same troll? Also, how could they have played the entire game on 19 June, the date of many of the negative reviews AND the release date for the game.    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
