The Last of Us 2 is a masterpiece of a game. While playing it, I felt tension, elation, love, hate, regret, nervousness, loss, and relief - to name a few of the emotions this game brings about.

The Last of Us 2 is a masterpiece of a game. While playing it, I felt tension, elation, love, hate, regret, nervousness, loss, and relief - to name a few of the emotions this game brings about.

The message of the game doesn't lie in the ending, which appears to have pissed other reviewers off. It lies very much in the journey (i know, total cliche, but its true). Specifically it lies within the parallels between Ellie and Abby. Both characters have been/are on quests for revenge, and those quests eat them up in different ways unique to that character. How much of your humanity are you willing to give up for your revenge? How much of your life will it consume? How much of yourself can you get back afterwards?

The main message I took from the game in the end related to how you view your enemies. It's easy to paint someone as the villain in your own story, but if you look at things from their point of view, all they are is another person. Another human being trying to survive.

Abby isnt the devil she appears to be at the start. She isnt some kind of saint. She's a deeply flawed person just trying to get by in a post apocalyptic world. Ellie is just the same.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. People who play Souls-Borne games are used to getting the middle finger and a "GiT GuD" when it comes to a difficulty setting. It's something of a hot topic recently (surprisingly) and it's something that people who were unable to overcome simply didn't like about the games. That being said those games are better for it and arguably could be ruined if ever implemented. TLOU2 another one of those games. There is a difficulty setting for game-play but there are no difficulty settings in this game or in real life for processing mental and emotional trauma. It seems like the majority of these reviews are from people having trouble at the latter. This is strange though because games like Hellblade and Celeste have done well on here.

Grief is a potent emotion that I would never wish on anyone. If not under control it will ravage someone, sometimes completely changing the person you thought you knew. This is something that is as hard to watch in real life as it is in this game. We saw what it turned Joel into in the first game but we never saw how. In movies you just have to watch as someone goes through this; in video-games you're in the drivers seat and you are far more exposed. This is where Naughty Dog shines and they do an immaculate job across the board. I felt the death of Joel hard, I felt Ellie's grief, I even felt Abby's grief but I didn't think I would be able to forgive her. There is one moment at the end of the game that is so easy to miss but hits so hard. As Ellie holds Abby's head under water trying to drown her she has a brief but powerful flashback. In this 2 second flashback Ellie remembers the very moment she was ready to forgive the only person besides Abby that took everything away from her. It's after this moment that Ellie realizes the is done and lets Abby go. Its not a happy ending and it was not something I would call fun, but rather fulfilling. TLOU starts as a story about curing all the zombies but changes at the very end with Joel murdering everyone in the hospital and ruining the chance of a cure. TLOU2 starts as a cliche murder revenge plot but ends up with Ellie ultimately letting everything go. In hindsight this is something we could have expected.

This is a must play game for me across the board with one caveat. Not everyone can handle losing a loved one, they may even play video-games to avoid this. If that is the case this game may not be for you. It doesn't make sense to buy a game after seeing the leaks and knowing you're not going to like it. Its the equivalent of going to a restaurant and ordering a salad even though you wanted a steak and writing a bad yelp review. It would seem there are a lot of Karens playing video-games nowadays.

This game was an amazing experience all the way through... as a video game rivaled actual cinema experiences for me. That's an amazing feat. A lot of improvements from the first which felt like an escort mission throughout. I enjoyed 9/10

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A game with pretty great gameplay but a mediocre story. They killed off Joel so early in the series just so they can dangle flashback scenes just to make you feel sad is just is ridiculous. I would have at least wanted to see some note of those moments before killing Joel off. Forcing you play as Abby for the whole second half of the game was a stupid decision on their part. They don't make her a likeable so you'd actually want to play as her at all before forcing you to. She's an adulterer with no remorse for killing Joel right after he saved her. I know Joel's crimes were atrocious but so are abby's and the whole WLF's. Pulling the whole: "look how relatable and human these **** are... you know the ones who slaughtered people and whole towns. But look they've got dogs, families, kids, and schools. Ooo they didn't kill Ellie and Tommy because they weren't targeting them so they must be good people" even though they're warmongers who've gotten an entire town that looks so impossibly perfect and pristine that its warmonger influences nowhere to be seen in it was so unbelievable that it just left a bad taste in my mouth. I understand the overall message, the execution was just awful. Thought I don't believe I don't believe my score should be as low as it is, I think Naughty Dog needs to get the message across that due to their track record and long 4+ year gaps they need to be held at a higher standard to what we ended up with this dissapointing game. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Expand

It is compelling in its own unique way, in DIRECT contrast to the first game. To continue the story of our beloved duo after the end of the first game was a joy and a dream for I and im sure millions of other fans. But because of this same love, I can see why many people argue the sequel disrespects Joel and Ellie. I just think Naughty Dog continued the story in the most realistic and likely way, rather than the way fans were praying and wishing to see. Its a brutal story of revenge. Just because it doesn't follow your prenotion of what a story should be doesn't make it "awful story-telling" and even worse "ruins the whole game". Another thing that pisses me off is when people say there are plot holes, but then fail to mention said plot holes. Maybe i am wrong, but I don't think there are any serious or major plot holes. That's my 2 cents, hopefully I don't get ddosed or death threats but you know how it goes. Expand

The last of us 2 is not what I expected and definitely doesn't fill my cravings for a satisfying sequel to the amazing first game.
The sound design is actually one of the better aspects of this game. The ost is on par with the first game, with the acoustic performances and the slow country style music. The movie thriller style progressing music was also a good addition. The game is pretty long, takes you about 25 hours to complete with moderate roaming around. There is no multiplayer or extra mode but you can redo any encounter without actually playing through the chapter all over again. There is also a new game plus option to play through the story again with the gear you collected on a higher difficulty.
The next best aspect along with sound are the graphics and the overall fidelity. The level designs and structures are all very highly detailed. This is probably the best work naughty dog has put out yet in terms of the technical aspects. The infected design, the NPC design, the foliage, the buildings and the animals in the game all look phenomenal. There is no doubt this is one of the best looking games on the ps4 hands down. My only complaints might be the sometime blurry textures and the always on film grain takes out clarity.
The first half of the game I was actually enjoying playing through this game with it's somewhat of a sandbox style gameplay. But as I progressed further I started to get bored from it and it became very repetitive. Things I liked about the combat was tight encounters in which you had to shuffle around with your gear, the addition of dogs adds a flare of tension but it sucks to kill them poor things, the dodge and jump buttons allow for maneuverability and layers of level design e.g different floors in a building, several skills that can be rewarding for making the game slightly easier, weapons are quite different and each pack a different punch and strategizing to set up traps and take on stealth. The game also features quite more side content and exploration options to find upgrades, supplies and collectable items to add a much needed open feel to a game like this. The A.I is not bad but it certainly isn't great, the enemies do react to their surroundings by calling out names of their fallen comrades but still they go and do the same mistakes that got them killed in the first place. The game isn't very challenging as well as you have so much at your disposal with plenty of ammo and you always have supplies to craft med kits. The hand to hand fights in this game are a joke as it's just you doing the same exact pattern like a kindergarten child over and over again until the enemy dies. There are some memorable set pieces with vehicles and the infected which might be worth playing again. Overall the gameplay is improved but isn't very strong compared to other games out now and gets very boring, tedious and repetitive.
The story is all over the place, the game tries very hard for you to feel bad about some characters and fails miserably. This game also made me feel a lot of times why the hell am I even doing this and what's the point of this, especially at the ending. The new characters are boring, dull, generic and cringeworthy that you never care about them ever. The game also forces you to play through the main villain of the game for so long. The decisions they took are very controversial and may be good plot points but the way things are paced and handled they mess up big time. The game could get a lot better if they shuffled some things out and ran it differently. The thing I hate the most is the fact that the game forces unlikable characters down your throat and drags to long to make sure you swallow it like a good boy. The story goes out so long and a point comes when you are like just end this BS already I have better things to do I don't care who dies or what happens. At the ending you are left with hating yourself for wasting so much time for a turning event but all you get is some foreshadowed BS. There is one scene …. A sex scene that made my eyes pop out and leave the country because they were mad what I just saw through them. The main protagonist Abby looks like a total steroid she hulk Godzilla of a woman and her body is no doubt made like a man with a woman's face and voice to it. There are death scenes which are rushed and some of them have zero weight to them like WTF the original game had so much emotional impact from them.
The Last of us 2 is the most disappointing game I ever played in my life. The original was one of my top 10 favourite games of all time and it absolutely demolished my heart to see how it treats its fans. This is a game that gets progressively boring and repetitive as you play and the story is an absolute dumpster fire. It looks pretty, the sound design is great and some set pieces are good but overall is not a very great and fulfilling package. It is probably the worst game Naughty dog and Niel Druckman has ever put out.

My biggest issue with the game is the same reason why a lot of people are hating the game, I will not spoil it here but honestly the people hating the game have a point.
But I could never call it a bad game, honestly it's an amazing game.
But its biggest enemy it's PART1, The love people have for the first game it's the reason the story is not being well received by many, because the plot in PART2 goes into a completely different direction than the last game. And honestly it's very reasonable that so many people are disliking the story.
But after analyzing the game a lot, playing it for a second time and watching a lot of reactions by different streamers online, I do think the game and the story do deliver it just that the direction that took is not what many of us wanted.
But I can not call it bad. In my opinion it is really good, and I think it's worth playing and having the experience for yourself, it's dark, it's vengeful and immersive. However, it is harsh when it comes around the last game and if you do love the last game (just like I do) there is a big possibility you don't like the story.
But I still believe it's worth playing.

It is very clearly shown around critics that people didn't like the idea of Joel dieing in this game. But in my opinion it was a reasonable thing to do, every other naughty dog game never killed of its protagonist and the protagonist friends/ allies but the killing of joel gave the game the impact it needed if for example they killed Dina like everyone thought they did (this is because of the trailers) the game wouldn't be as intresting and worthwhile to go through l. This also shows hoe Ellie lobes and cares for Joel if she didn't care about him she wouldn't of done everything she did to get revenge on Abby
Talking about Abby shes the other problem that people disliled about the game, yes i felt the same way when i had to spwmd about 1 hoirs of gameplau with her but it showed me her side of the stoey and how she feels and desires as a human. Overall the games ending is very hard to understand fully but it was the right choice to not kill of Abby and Lev. 10/10

The director relies on Joel and Ellie too much because he thought people wouldn’t buy the game if there is no Joel and Ellie as playable character. There are so much potentials in this game so I am sad how poorly the director organized the story. Also, I am an gay asian man and I think there are too much LGBTQ+ and racial minority things in this game which makes the game look super strange to me. Don’t do this. It’s ok to depict this kinda social issues but don’t do it too much. Thanks. Expand

No matter how impressive the game-play (largely unchanged from the first), the graphics and the audio, these strengths couldn't save the sequel from the arrogant, thin-skinned, political-driven "writers" and decision-makers at the top. A solid 4/10, earned entirely by those in charge of animation, world design, and Gustavo Santaolalla.

Indeed this maybe controversial to people who prefer plain right good guys and villains, even I always wanted the good guys to always win, but this game makes you realize that humans are way more complicated than that. In my opinion, I loved the game and the ending, the feels(mostly happy and slightly sad, overall satisfied) still linger on to me two days after finishing the game, very few games do that, the soundtrack and visuals are top notch and really enforce the storytelling. So please before judging, play the entire game and decide it for yourself, just don't get into the hate bandwagon just because you heard some spoilers, and that you didn't like a particular events or story decisions through those spoilers. I found myself loving the exploration and actually getting annoyed when combat “got in the way”. I think the story is pretty interesting as a theme but the character kind of fail to grab my attention. I really like being conflicted and finding myself loathing the presumed protagonist but at the same time a lot of the choices that the protagonist does doesn’t really feel in character/plausible. When taking a step back and looking at this from a broader perspective, comparing it to all games and not just it’s prequel, it’s still a great game. Graphics, audio, animation and voice acting is god tier. The narrative and character development, though weaker than the first game, is also high class. As far as controversies regarding the game go I’d say: just play the game. The game does not do what it’s accused of. It does not push any agenda down your throat. It doesn’t fail in its story telling due to taking a political stance. Sure it’s not as good as the first game but it’s not due to anything related to the “controversy”. I think the game would have felt like a better experience if they skipped some acts/story beats and focused more on the driving factors of the main protagonist. It was also too long: the naughty dog gameplay loop is not fun and/or varied enough to last for 25 hours. Expand

This game did a great job at telling a difficult and painful story. Then the game goes and takes a turn and makes you play through the story from the other perspective which was done very well. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I played the game twice, even at the major difficulty of SURVIVOR+, exploring every inch and finally awarding my platinum.

    Graphics: 10
The graphics is stunning, facial animations are astonishing and can really make u feel what is going through the characters mind. Stable framerate, high quality.

    Audio and soundtrack: 9.8
Gustavo made another piece of art with this game. The soundtrack fits perfectly within the context of the game, is never invasive and really enhances your emotions when needed.
Also gameplay audio is really good. Environment sounds can really help you to locate enemies, see who they are and what they intend to do, essential to the gameplay.
Sometimes though, enemy location does not fit perfectly the position of the enemies, causing you to panic if you think they are too close. It's not a big problem.

    Environment and level design: 10
The work and craftsmanship of the developers to reconstruct a Seattle won by nature is jawdropping. Everything is exactly where it should be. It's all so green, rainy. Destruction is perfectly represented and the victory of nature over mankind is portrayed in every aspect.
Big shout-out to the level design. Every encounter can be approached in many different ways due to the level design and our gameplay choices. Stealth is favored due to many underground or underwater passages, trucks under which you can hide and most of all it's import that you can sometimes use verticality (something which was completely absent from the first game). Many levels will completely develop vertically.

    Acting: 10
I played the game in the original language. Nothing to say on this, Ashley, Troy and Laura's work was absolutely terrific. Every emotion of the characters, also thanks to the facial animations get to the hearts of the player.

    Gameplay and AI: 9.5
Part I had a great gameplay, but part II makes that gameplay even better in every possible department. The shooting feels a lot better and the RPG components of the game (Supplements and weapon upgrades) really impact the gameplay. Level design makes everything a lot more fun, more weapons and objects to use, etc...
Only downside, although AI has been a lot improved since Part I (both enemies and allies), sometimes your companions do stupid things like pushing you out of cover or walking in front of the enemies (they can't be seen but feels kinda weird playing). Enemies are well organised but in rare cases they can clip and you can just kill them 1 by 1 like a bunch of idiots. Also this is a very minor downside in all the beautiful things that this gameplay offers.

    Longevity and variety: 9.5
My adventure lasted 30 hours. What can you ask more from a so beautiful game?!
The adventure is not only long, but puts in front of many different challenges, which must be approached in many different ways (human bossfights, infected bossfights, infected hordes, scars, wlf soldiers, both wlf and scar soldiers, infected and humans, only shamblers, only stalkers, etc....). All this variety makes sure that the gameplay never makes you bored.

    Story and narrative: 9
The story really is amazing and the level of storytelling is off the charts. The deep diving into the psychology of the characters will be a major milestone in gaming for years. Everything in this game is so emotional. Not a single game ever grazed the level of emotions that are summoned by this game (sadness, hate, desperation, joy, pure emptiness, etc...). The adoption of two storylines crossing each other is extremely beautiful, to see both perspectives and explore both character's minds. The symbolism of the game is also something that can be compared to poetry for how beautiful it is when you can grasp it and understand it.
Every character feels so alive and seeing how they evolve or devolve is another milestone of the game.
Now we get to the cons of the story:
    1) The story hits you extremely hard which is not a bad thing, the downside is that some events are presented in a questionable order. Playing as Abby was a great experience. She and Lev are a great team and they both are great characters, but the game wants you in the first part to hate Abby too much, risking to fail in the second half to make you feel empathy for her or at least understand her actions and her character. The game relies too much on the sensibility of the players in this context, that's why the game is "not for everyone"
    2) Too much symbolism. Symbolism is beautiful and poetic, but sometimes is so concealed that people might think that what happened is just a plot hole. This is another reason why the game is "not for everyone".
    3) Story pacing. Flashbacks are well put in the story, but sometimes they break the player's hype too much, especially at the fight in the theater when the control switches to Abby and to get there again you need to play 10 hours. Overall the Abby gameplay is a little to long.

Anyway, the game is a masterpiece and everyone should try it.

The Last of Us Part 2 justifies why it is called “part 2” instead of just “2”, since it is a direct sequel to the story of the first game. Each event of the previous one has consequences over the story, which truly makes the player think over about dilemas regarding the morality of the characters that reflects some other dilemas that we have in the real world. It is an experience that I have never seen in any other game, as unique as the first “The Last of Us” was in its time. Indeed, it is a dark game, with a heavy atmosphere (way more than part 1), that makes you have tons of contradictory emotions and experiences through your gameplay, which may be one of the reasons that some people don’t enjoy it — but that contrast is exactly what makes it so special and beautiful. Only by playing it you will get to understand what I mean, but bear in mind you have to be ready for it. And for those who do not have the opportunity to play, you can also get a good view of it by watching a full gameplay walkthrough on YouTube (I repeat, it has to be an ENTIRE walkthrough, not just the main cutscenes to get to know the plot “in general”), although some parts can be a little monotonous for those who are watching, like searching for resources (which again, contributes a lot to give the player a full experience both in part 1 and 2). In the end, Naughty Dog once again provide us with a true work of art, and despite you may or may not prefer the first game, it is inarguably great and worth playing. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. this is definitively a GOTY nominee for sure, the last of us part 2 is a true masterpiece with a very good story focusing on revenge instead of continuing to focus on love like part 1 did for the most part.
instead of the love and the growing friendship between Joel and Ellie like they did in part 1, Part 2 focuses more on the revenge path Ellie sets herself on after Abby Kills Joel. and we follow her on her journey as she goes down that path and slowly loses her humanity due to the rage.
with what feels like the only thing keeping her in check being Dina, her girlfriend.
and as Ellie progresses trough the game and gets toward the end, when Abby gets to the cinema and confronts Ellie, Jesse, Tommy and Dina. shes starting to realize that this is not what Joel would have wanted. while Abby is about to kill Dina while Ellie is knocked down we see lev come in and save Dina by Abby seeing lev which calms her down. at the farm when jj is born Ellie is having nightmares and cant sleep, so she decides to go out and find Abby, and she eventually does find her hanged on a pole at a beach alongside Lev, and instead of just killing her there while she was defenseless she cut her down. after Abby was cut down she didn't have any strength, but instead of just attacking Ellie and taking her knife and killed her like she could have done, you could see Abby was ready to just leave and be done with everything, as we see again when they find the boats and Abby says shes not fighting Ellie anymore, that she and lev just want to be in a safe place. when Ellie threatened to kill lev by holding a knife to his throat while unconscious Abby decides to fight Ellie just to save Lev, much like Joel would have done for Ellie and vice versa. after they battle, Ellie wins and is drowning Abby when she realizes that by killing Abby she wouldn't feel any better, it wouldn't make the pain and the memories go away, and that Ellie would be just like Abby if she did. so she takes her up and lets Abby go while she sits in the water Abby goes behind her to the boat, and she had the possibility to just go up behind her again and snap her neck, she didn't. and just left on the boat with lev.
also Abby and lev(also Yara) are like Joel and Ellie (and Tess and Sarah).
Joel doesn't like Ellie at first, Lev doesn't like Abby at first
Ellie saves Joel (winter scene), Abby saves Yara (amputation)
Joel loses Sarah and tess, Lev loses Yara and Abby loses her dad
at the end of the game Joel and Ellie are like family, Abby and lev are like family.
both the relationship between Abby and lev, and Joel and Ellie grows throughout the game.

Ah well, let’s just try to ignore it for the sake of giving my own review. “The Last of Us” was one of 2013’s most well-received video games, and it’s a title that has been hailed as one of the greatest video games ever created. It took me several years to get around to the game and play it myself, and when I did, I was legitimately worried that the hype would oversell the final product, but thankfully, it didn’t, and the original game remains fantastic for me. It’s one of my personal favorite games, and while the prospect of a sequel was exciting to me even before I played the first game, my hype thrusters went into overdrive once I actually played and beat the game. The more I saw of the game, the more excited I got, and the more I was hoping that the sequel would blow me away like the first game did. And I must honestly say, this sequel did blow me away!
“The Last of Us Part II” knocks it out of the park in all aspects for me: visually, this is by far one of the most impressive-looking games that I’ve seen thus far, with stunning animations and an all-around fantastic design that perfectly captures the bleakness that surrounds the game. Down to the littlest details, the visuals shine, and it’s truly a technical achievement. It’s very rare that I find a game that can invoke my fear of heights and give me anxiety, but kudos to the visual designers for being able to do that. From a gameplay perspective, I think the game is consistently tensing and heart-pounding, whether you’re moving stealthily or engaged in a one-on-one boss fight. Even in its slowest sections, it never fails to put you on the edge of your seat, and while this might seem like a weird descriptor of a game like this, the gameplay does feel…really fun. The writing, as controversial as it already has been, is honestly one of my favorite things about the game. I think the story is extremely layered, and even though it’s very dark and depressing, there’s a lot that I can appreciate as I continue to think about the game. Even after finishing it, I still feel like there are layers I’m continuing to unfold and new ideas popping up in my head, and I think that the game’s handling of a story that’s constantly at conflict with itself is really fascinating. The characterization is great, I love the old and new cast all the same, and I think the writing is lifted by some of the excellent performances from the game’s cast of actors. These actors give some mesmerizing performances, and it’s quite a wonder to behold. Top it off by a light but impactful score from composer Gustavo Santaolalla, and you’ve got a game that really can do it all.
Usually, this is the part of the review where I talk about the negatives of a game, and honestly, in this case I can’t, because there really wasn’t anything that detracted from my enjoyment of “The Last of Us Part II.” What I will spend this time doing, though, is giving a bit of a warning: I know this game has been very controversial so far, and you can probably tell by the user score, but it’s received a lot of criticism, which doesn’t totally surprise me. This game was always going to be divisive, and given that the story centers so heavily around moral ambiguity, it’s going to be polarizing and constantly at odds with itself. Some elements of the story will leave you conflicted and, at times, probably really angry. That said, though, this is a game that’s very layered and it often begs for you to read into every little detail that you can. For better or worse, even the most controversial aspects of the story have purpose in it. My advice if you want to get the most out of the game: take nothing the game gives you at face value. There’s always something to unpack here, so if nothing else, don’t immediately write off the game because of some of its controversial elements.
All in all, while “The Last of Us Part II” might not exactly be for everyone, I think this is yet another amazing adventure from Naughty Dog that lives up to the standard they have set for themselves. I personally thought it was just as good (if not, dare I say, better than) the first game, and even if you’re put off by some of what you’ve heard, I highly recommend you at least give the game a fair shot. It’s polarizing, but it’s worth it to see what side of the fence you sit on with it. For me? I thoroughly enjoyed this game, and it’s gonna stick with me for a long, long time.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. My Review of The Last of Us Part 2
    Argument:
I start with the most important part of the game which is the plot and which is a controversial equivalent generator. The plot seems very interesting to me, Naughty Dog's decision to kill an iconic character like Joel within 2 hours of the game seemed quite risky and brave to me. And this death was what detonated the entire history of this game, since Ellie goes from being a nice girl in the first game to a girl mowed for revenge killing whoever crosses her path to obtain the location of Abby who is the murderer of Joel and also the protagonist in the middle of this game. Bear in mind that this argument seems intriguing to me regarding the dramatic change in Ellie's character regarding personality, as I mentioned before sympathizing with a ruthless avenger, but I consider this plot "cliché" since there are already several films with the argument that The protagonist is killed by a loved one and he seeks revenge, so I consider this as something unoriginal but interesting at the same time. On the other hand, it seems incredible to me from Naughty Dog to make us play with the character of Abby before she murdered Joel, since she presents us with a common and ordinary character without knowing that at the time and users would be hating her to death (as was my case) and also how we introduced ourselves in the middle of the game, because she finally and Alcabo killed Joel because he killed the doctors and fireflies in the hospital part at the end of the first game, and the doctor in charge of Getting the vaccine was Abby's father, so up to that point the users or well in my case in particular made me empathize more with Abby, and not only was that, but in all the part of when we played with Abby we realized that she is actually a good person who dedicates herself to helping others as she did with the 2 seraphite children Yara and Lev who for them even betrayed her group of the "wolves" in order to protect them. I personally had many mixed feelings in this game, on the one hand I hated her for killing Joel and on the other I began to like the character of Abby, for which the way Naughty Dog handled this story seems impressive to me.

    Gameplay:
I loved the gameplay, it is very similar to the first game but obviously with many improvements. I played it hard and I really suffered in some parts of the game, most of the time especially with Ellie I only had 4 bullets at most and life in red so I had to use stealth a lot and think a lot about what it was going to be my next move. I really enjoyed playing it in difficult because I really felt what it would be like to be in a post-apocalyptic world with few resources and very dangerous enemies, so I recommend playing it in this way to start, I will play it again in the future in the maximum difficulty to see how It can be complicated. The fighting sequences seem incredible to me, I quote one for example the part of when Abby and Lev are escaping from the burning town of the seraphites riding on horseback and shooting the others I found it very funny and well accomplished. On the other hand, I liked the little details like Ellie's minigame playing the guitar, I found this very interesting and entertaining. Graphics:
Well in terms of graphics I can only say that I loved them, all the scenarios, the physics, the expression of the characters look incredibly good, it is an absolute visual beauty, the graphic leap from the first game to this one is notorious well 7 years do not pass in vain, and that I played it on a normal ps4, I can not imagine what this game will look like when it comes out on Ps5.

    Music:
Gustavo Santaolalla shines again in this game, the soundtrack is very good but in this game it is presented in a much more subtle way compared to the first game. On a personal level, I like the soundtrack of the first game more because I feel it more expressive and it shows more than in this one, but it does it just the same.

    ¿Is it a masterpiece?
I personally do not consider it a masterpiece, it is a game that is very well achieved, I really enjoyed playing it, I even had fun playing this more than the first installment, but in terms of plot I consider that the first is a masterpiece since it put a point and apart in the history of video games and also because the plot twist of Joel sacrificing all of humanity to save Ellie seemed incredible to me. This second part complements the first story very well, it is more entertaining but it is not as original as the first.

And with nothing more to say, I thank and congratulate Naughty Dog for creating The Last of Us Part 1 and 2 they really created an incredible and very emotional franchise, I emphasize that never in any video game had I felt so many emotions together when playing a video game and in Finally, I expect more great works from you.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

If you play slow and take the time to explore everywhere it can take almost 30 hours to complete, on the switch side if you play through quickly it can take 20 hours or under.

For me it took 26 with a blend of taling the time to explore certain areas. Let me start off by saying this game is absolutely beautiful! It's the most beautiful game I have ever played by far. The environments, level design, and character design is just through the roof!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

In every aspect impeccable except for the story which is not as shocking as 1 (I am not saying that it is bad but it is not up to the first part) the reasons for each PC consider them credible, sympathize with Lev and Abby especially for forgiving Ellie and Dina, coming to the end she forces herself a little bit to lengthen the game but I can't lie that if I enjoyed it as a little DLC and the fact that Ellie went to the extreme trouble to end up letting Abby go I like it, especially because like 1 it was a tremendous journey that did not end up fulfilling the initial objective, to finish that Ellie ends up alone because of her thirst for revenge seems perfect to me.
If you do not like you are in your right I do not like fornite or gta not for that reason they are bad games you just did not like and this is it, do not forget they are games their objective is to entertain you and have a good time and the last of us part II did it with me.

The plot/pacing/character development are so bad that it ruins the experience - it's giving me mass effect 3 flashbacks. You could have kept all the same messages and had a much better game if you had better pacing and character development (even just moving the order of things around). Some much of the great game play is ruined by the frustration of the previous cutscene that you can't enjoy it - and to those saying hey that empty unhappy, everything was meaningless feeling you get when you finish was the goal, "the game is supposed to have that"...why would I want my video game to end like that? Sad and frustrated sure, deep meaningful tragedy is powerful - not what we got here. Try and justify the experience all you want, but I would have been happier not having the Last Of Us world ruined for me by playing this game. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This was one of the best games I have ever played. I went into it only watching some of the trailers, and was able to avoid all of the spoilers, so my only bias was the hype of loving the first game. Don’t listen to the haters, this game is amazing.

Gameplay has been improved, but not modified. If you liked the gameplay of the first, you’ll love the gameplay of the second. The combat is more immersive and super fluid. The environments made the combat amazing.

The story was awesome. I never felt more emotionally invested in characters than with this game. I will admit, I did not like playing Abby at first and couldn’t wait to get back to playing Ellie. They switched the POV at such a cliffhanger! However, it halfway through playing Abby I started to like her character, and by the end I really didn’t want anything bad to happen to her. It was gut-wrenching to fight Ellie. I didn’t want anything to happen to either one.

If you liked the first one, give this a chance. No guarantees you’ll like it, but I absolutely loved it.

Why would I want to play a character for 12 hours that murdered my favorite character from the first game. They didn't even accurately portray a trans person with Abby, her voice sounds female. No one would acknowledge that she's trans, which again I find very unrealistic. This game feels like it panders to leftist. First Last of Us was very believable story wise. This kept me pissed off from the moment Abby murdered Joe to the very end. I'm surprised critics gave this stellar reviews. I actually find it absurd. **** this game and **** this series. Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
