    This game is marvelous when it comes to combat and gameplay mechanics and I wouldn't say it's better than its predecessor but it sure does have its own kicks!! Love the game

    The graphics are beautiful, game felt smooth but the history is so disappointing and awful, I get it the developers wanted us to feel bad and angry, they wanted to play with our feelings but have they asked themselves if that's how a game is, if that's how you reward the millions of TLOU fans waiting for next chapter.     The gameplay is not bad, but the plot... This is just disgusting! I love the first part of The Last of Us, it's beautiful, the plot is great! But here's the second part... it's not just disgusting, it's a disgrace! You just destroyed everything good that was in the first part!

    Oyun genel anlamda iyiydi sadece oyunun sonunda sosyal mesaj vermek adı altında gereksiz uzatmışlar. Yapay zekada biraz sıkıntılıydı. Bunun dışında olay örgüsü mekan tasarımı hikaye işlenişi ve oynanış yeteri kadar tatmin ediciydi.

The original game has been number one on my list since I first played it, and I have played the game all the way through at least 35 times or more. I was eager about The Last of Us Part 2 and waited forever for the game. I purchased a new PS4 in 2017 in hopes to get the game and I waited and waited until I had played so many games I decided to get another PS4 before playing this masterpiece. I bought a PS4 Pro as an upgrade and awaited the game. Suddenly all these leaks come out. Everyone is downing the game and I find out Joel dies. Well I had expected Joel to die oddly enough. Unlike some others it wasn't a surprise to me at all. However the way they took him out did surprise me, but honestly the leaks had me even more hyped than before. I couldn't wait to learn who these new characters were and what the new story was like. While some hated the story I found it fitting of the characters Ellie and Joel and also found it very realistic. When pulling back the layers of the game you get a glimpse of each persons role in the Murder of Joel, and even get to analyze them as a group. Each has their own part in the whole drama and I found it all to be very well done just like the original. The graphics are a 10, Sound is amazing and is a 10. Story? I loved it myself. So much care went into every aspect of this game and it really comes off as a film or show, and the acting is top notch. The game-play is brutal and the story veers into some horror levels equal with RE7 and the remakes. The Boss in the Hospital was amazing and much more well done than I had expected. Naughty Dog has really done well pushing the PS4 beyond it's limits. It is a very violent game and if that is what you are looking for look no further. The combat feels great and is addictive to play. I am already playing a second time through on new game plus. So much hate for such a great game. Don't let other deter you. If you are interested in this game just buy it, it is amazing to behold. I can say The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part 2 stand on the same line for me. They are both masterpieces and compliment each other instead of rehashing the same thing.… Expand

    Video and audio is fantastic. AI of enemies is also great. Gameplay is similar to the firt part but everything is bigger and better. The only controversial thing is story which I personally like (especially how it's told) but I understand that not everybody can share that opinion.     The reason why people are so upset with the game is due to the events that take place in the beginning. I was mad too, I was very upset. But as I continued to play I understood that this game deals with dark and gloomy themes that can be uncomfortable to its audience.     A weak, superficial plot that revolves around two embittered girls. Poor disclosure of characters and the complete absurdity of what is happening in the post-apocalyptic world. The only thing that pleases is the picture and animation, here you need to take off your hat. Unfortunately, this is not what people expected from Naughty Dog...

Я хотел увидеть как Элли и Джоэл после всех пройденных испытаний уезжают в закат. Счастливые, в обществе друг друга, Вместе. Но у мистера Дракмана на этот счёт были несколько другие планы. Как итог - после прохождения, игра не выходила из головы неделю. Думал о персонажах, об их поступках, об их мотивации... Сильнейшее эмоциональное погружение, Браво! И хоть в процессе (а именно во второй половине) я возненавидел игру, на финише моё мнение и восприятие полностью изменилось - стало понятно зачем это всё было и почему. И я полюбил The Last Of Us part 2. Обязательно пройду ещё раз. И да, играть лучше в оригинале, с субтитрами. Многим неудобно, но всё же - оно того стоит. Эшли Джонсон, Трой Бэйкер и Лаура Бэйли прекрасны. Актёрская игра в этом приключении, конечно, решает))… Expand

    After finishing the game, i am honestly out of words. Some parts of the game did really make me question myself but man at the end, everything made perfect sense. It was something bold from naughty dog and my dear god, they have done it again - another masterpiece etched onto our hearts.

    You kill Joel, ok, I also can live with that considering this game is about Ellie
    The story doesn’t make any sense at all. Let’s look at characters, so much conflicts:
    Tommy: after Joel died he tried to stop Ellie, and went after the group himself to protect Ellie, but no, later towards the end he showed up all angry and encouraged Ellie to go after Abby all by herself Ellie: kill hundreds to just spare Abby
    Abby’s Dad: what a lovely caring person saving a Zebra in the forest, then 2 seconds later he insisted to murder Ellie, won’t listen otherwise Abby and Owen, I really don’t know their story, why they broke up? Why they back together?
    Ending: when Ellie decided to kill Abby, she didn’t just shoot her? Abby shot Joel in surprise right after Joel saved her, so she deserve a fair fight? Besides, how could Ellie think she could take Abby down with her bare hands? She already been beaten twice before, why she think she can win this time with a very bad injury? All just doesn’t make sense. I try to like it, but I can’t , Because, I’m not stupid. Thanks for ruining the last of us, well done.    … Expand

    I feel really sorry for the developers of the game. Unfortunately they made a very solid game from the graphic perspective but complete trash from the actual story telling and logic itself. If you like to hurt yourself or somehow to punish yourself then definitely buy this game, otherwise not recommended at all. I loved the game in general amazing graphics and good game play mechanics, I didn't like Abby and still don't like her but I understood her story and how Naughty Dog tried to make me feel some type of way for her but that didn't work for me but probably I will in Part III. For Ellie I feel for her, she is the character I fell in love with from the 1st game and Joel's death I just can't get around that. I kinda understand for them to show Ellie as a vengeful person something bad needed to happen. But I love the game and can't wait for the next one.… Expand

    I don't like TLoU: Part I, actualy i think the first part is overrated and this is just a good game.
    But TLoU: Part II is great, I made a short list of "+" and "-". What's good: + Grafics + Animations + Art design + Cutscense and actors + Gameplay, much deeper stealth, perks and custmizetion for weapon + Exploring + Allote of different arens for    Be me, Eastern Europe, Ukraine.
    I don't like TLoU: Part I, actualy i think the first part is overrated and this is just a good game.
    But TLoU: Part II is great, I made a short list of "+" and "-".
    What's good:
    + Grafics
    + Animations
    + Art design
    + Cutscense and actors

    Now lets check what was "not great, not teriable"
    +/- Story (i really liked it, but i can understand if somebody don't)
    +/- Only few bosses (actually there are only 1 real bossfight)
    +/- Only few big locations for deep, long exploring
    +/- Game is really long ( id like it, but if you try to play 24/7 you will be tiered and lost interested)
    Now what's bad in this game:
    - Some characters had not so much screentime
    - Encounters with infected is not so interested

    So i guess thats all.

    I'll tell you why by looking at the complaints haters have.

    1. Joel's death What they say :- poorly dealt Fact:- he dies in the hands of the person he just saves by getting his leg shot with a shotgun and beaten to death with a golf stick. That is painful psychologically and physically. People wanted a predictable lame death of Joel??

    2. Abby getting to live in the end
    What they say:- it sucks to see Ellie not getting her revenge
    Fact:- Ellie got her revenge. Abby was able to kill Joel because her group outnumbered Joel and Tommy. Ellie kills her group therefore killing the indirect reason that helped Abby kill joel. And Ellie killed the Abby that killed Joel by making Abby realise that revenge only got innocent people killed.

    This game was amazing! I’ve never experienced a piece of media quite like this. It’s been two weeks since I completed it and I still can’t stop thinking about it. I’m sad for what happened to it on this website and many others. It’s also sad to see the developers and actors/actresses have been attacked in all of this.     Before I state why I liked the game, I would like to implore that everyone play the game before making their own opinions based off of other reviews and leaks. As a gaming community, we should be striving to make better efforts to lift each other up, not tear each other down.

    In my own opinion, everything about this game was an experience. From the opening scene with Joel explaining his past decisions to Tommy to the last few moments of the game, it took me on a journey most would find very difficult to watch. This is a game about violence, revenge, anger and malice, and how all these things can take tremendous tolls on a life. We get to see something terrible happen to a character we adore, and how this act drives other characters we love to do terrible, inhumane things. this game was not created just to please anyone who can move a joystick and press buttons. Its goal is to take the gamer on a journey in which they are able to see things in a new perspective. For me, The Last of Us Part II is not only a wonderful game, but an experience that taught me many lessons that I will cherish forever.

    There's so much more I would love to talk about, but I sadly have to stay within the guidelines of length for the review. With that being said, I hope that everyone goes and picks up this, in my opinion, masterclass of a game and allow yourself the right to your OWN opinion.    … Expand

    Only good thing in this game are Joel and Ellie flashbacks, everything else is bad as far as the story goes.
    And what a bad ending i m really disappointed at this game because first one was so good this one is really bad.
    And new charaters are bad and not interesting and i don t care about them at all.

I will admit that for almost all of Abby's part, I was keeping her alive purely so I could slit her throat myself. Upon completing the game and actually *thinking* about it, I do sympathise with Abby. I don't forgive her, but the fact is Joel deserved what he got. I liked him, I still do, but just because he was your hero doesnt mean he isn't someone's villain. His luck ran out, and he brought about his own death. In saying that, though, I agree with him, I would do it all exactly the same way.… Expand

    This game gets way more hate then I think it deserves. I'm not a very good reviewer but I enjoyed playing the game. I think if you take a minute to see things in Abby's point of view, you really understand her intentions. Its different from the first game but in a good way.

    O Jogo conseguiu mexer com a maioria das minhas emoções, vivenciar uma sequencia impactante como essa, de fato como muitos falaram, não estamos prontos para esse jogo, aqueles que acharam que se tratava de uma de história de heróis e vilões, se enganaram, isso é uma história sobre pessoas e as consequências de seus atos, o jogo faz você vivenciar os 2 lados da moeda de um mesmo acontecimento, você acha que vai odiar a Abby mas na verdade você acaba entendendo o porquê dela ter feito o que fez, e como isso pesou na sua vida, a mesma coisa é a Jornada da Ellie, que você acha que ela irá concretizar sua vingança mas a própria acaba percebendo que não valia mais a pena, e ainda sim as duas sofreram e muito por conta de toda essa obsessão por vingança, Ellie perde sua família e acaba ficando sozinha, algo que ela sempre temeu, e Abby perde todos os seus amigos, com quem ela se importava e muito, e quem prestou atenção nos diálogos entre ela e os outros ex-vagalumes percebe que a maioria do grupo nao se sentiu bem pela morte do Joel e isso só afastou a Abby dos seus amigos.

    Uma frase dita pelo Alfred para o Bruce em Batman vs Superman em 2016 "É assim que começa. A febre, .A raiva, A sensação de impotência...que torna homens bons...cruéis." retrata muito bem as personagens principais, o quão cego você fica quando o ódio toma conta de você e isso só te deixa mais vazio, e no final das contas nunca vale a pena!!

    Finalizando, para mim, esse com certeza foi um dos melhores jogos que eu já joguei, que depois desse, outras empresas, utilizem esse nível de qualidade para produzir seus jogos, porque por mais que você não tenha gostado do jogo, não pode questionar as qualidades técnicas dele!!

    Lacks an interesting plot and relatable characters but does give you plenty of time to wonder why the hell you're bothering with this hollow revenge tale - 3 stars.

    The story of the second one is written in a lot less accessible way to most people.

    You have to read between the lines and make your own conclusions by connecting the dots by using common knowledge and being aware to how realistic characters would react to many different types of hardships, whereas with the first game it was a more direct and literal narrative approach.

    In the first game anything that the characters thought and/or felt was easily noticeable and was layed out right in front of you.
    There's nothing wrong with that kind of story telling at all. But it is much more of a challenge, both for the writers and the players, to have a story told in a more complex and nuanced manner when it comes to the development of the characters.

    Unfortunately most people weren't able to accept that a story that didn't turn out to be the one THEY wanted it to be, could still be just as good of a story at the end. And the ones who were able to accept it and still didn't like it probably do actually have valid reasons for it. Unfortunately those people are rare and their legitimate criticisms have been lost in a sea of ignorance due to the fact that the majority blindly closed themselves off from giving the game any chance whatsoever months before the game was even released.
    All the people i've heard saying they hated the game also had the game spoiled for them through leaks.

    Very unfortunate if you ask me since i firmly believe they've robbed themselves of an experience that could've possibly been a much better one than with the first game.

    Because it sure as hell was for me.

    Did joel deserve better?
    Yes and no
    For us as the player he surely did because of the connection we had with him from the first game.
    In the grand scheme of things, he got what he deserved if you look at it from any other perspective outside of our own.

    And to the people who say that joel did deserve a more respectful way to die in an absolute literal sense.
    I want you to consider this.
    If joel had died in an act of heroism as most people wish he would have, would you have gotten as angry as you did now?
    No you wouldn't.
    Abby didn't just kill joel, he put him down as if he was a rabid dog.
    And it truly sucked...and it made us absolutely furious with abby.
    But that's the point. The player's hatred is what fuels our motivation to avenge him. That is good story telling. Period. But this doesn't mean this was a story about revenge. Because it absolutely was not. More on that later. And the people who say that joel introducing himself to strangers is uncharacteristic of him, maybe you should pay a little more attention to the actual dialog. It wasn't joel who initially introduced himself to abby's group. It was tommy. And no i'm not talking about the scene where he got shot in the leg. Before that when abby, joel and tommy were escaping from the horde, right before they got onto the horses, tommy introduced himself and joel to abby by name. Not joel. This was done in an effort to calm abby down as she was visibly distressed which was a liability. After finding out who tommy and joel were, abby lured them to her groups hideout. Now, as for people calling this a revenge story and saying that there's no real dilemma present in the narrative, think again.
    There might not be a moral dilemma present like in the first game, but there is an emotional one.
    And is drives the entire narrative of the game.
    Some might think that this emotional dilemma is ellie's thirst for vengeance, but that's not the one.
    I'm talking about the dilemma of forgiving an atrocious act committed by someone.
    And yet again, if you're thinking i'm referring to ellie forgiving abby, you'd be wrong once more.
    Because ellie never forgave abby, even at the end.
    No, instead she forgave joel.
    Which she wasn't able to do before the very ending of the game.
    This is why we get to see the last conversation ellie and joel had where ellie stated that she didn't know if she would ever be able to forgive joel, but she would like to try.
    Now because of this ellie also carries an immense amount of guilt with her since the last thing she told joel was that she didn't know if she could ever forgive him. This guilt fuels her inability to forgive joel, which in turn fuels her guilt, and so on and so on...
    The tragedy of this all is the fact ellie didnt see what we saw when during her last conversation with joel. Because after she left, joel was visably relieved. That's the tragedy.
    Joel was contempt with the way things were, while ellie feels guilt because she think she let joel die thinking that she hated him.

    People say the writing is lazy? I say everyone else is too lazy to attempt to actually understand the writing. And for what reason?
    Because their favorite character was killed off. Nothing more nothing less.    … Expand

    I tend to like only action games and have very little patience for most games, yet I played through and beat this game. The combat which may feel clunky at first to FPS fans is actually very well done and makes for great gameplay. The graphics are the best I've seen and the overall polish and attention to detail is incredible. They made some interesting choices with what you do as the player which makes the game a bit of an emotional rollercoaster. There is some hate about this aspect too, but honestly I feel it adds to the game by invoking different emotions in you and also how you perceive/play being changed based on your feelings towards what is happening.
    My two complaints are:
    1) The infected are the least interesting part of the game. The combat with them feels like a chore given how much more fun and interesting the combat against other humans is.
    2) There is a bit too much "interactive movie" content where you are just walking through areas. It is great drooling at the graphics, but I would have preferred a bit more action.    … Expand

The death of Joel was the most heart wrenching part of the game (among a lot of other moments). The story is told from Ellie’s and Abby’s perspectives respectively and overall it was a great way unfold Abby’s backstory, intentions and drive (which you for yourself can judge). No one in this game is a “good person” everyone is heavily flawed. Naughty Dog did an excellent job with the running theme “Cycle of Revenge” how far would you go for someone you love/care about? Would you go as far as these characters (Ellie & Abby) did? (Hopefully not). The ending of the game closed that loop for Ellie & Abby at the end of it all they still lost those close to them and ended with nothing from of their decisions. We aren’t forced in any way to sympathize with a specific character, none of the violent actions they commit are to be sympathized with, we simply go through the coaster and judge as we see. They want you to feel emotionally invested with the characters actions basically giving you a prompt to brutally attack another character making it so you start and finish the brutality. The back story given for Abby helps us understand her whether we agree with it or not. The world is disgusting, and violent as are most of the people inhabiting it. Thank you Naughty Dog for the experience, it’s definitely a work of art, you wrote a story many people may not 100% understand. Within the first couple hours you’ll decide if you like it or not and wether or not to continue playing or complain. At the end of the day it’s an amazing game with great story telling and characters.

    Idk why so many people hated this game. From its starting until the ending, tlou 2 is a top level experience. I had low expectations based on what I read but in the end my experience was great, I really enjoyed the story, the amazing graphics, movements, etc.

The gameplay and graphics was god tier...i think its the only reason that kept me playing . I think if everything in this game stayed the same , but they rearranged the scenes so not half the game was flashbacks , it would be better. I'm obviously upset they killed joel...especially in the first hour of the game,. When it happened, I stopped playing for a couple days. Anyways .if your going to kill off the favorite character in a terrible, dark, way..we shouldn't have to play as the killer for 10+ hours, and on top of it...not even get our revenge at the end of the game because Abby lives. Very sad to see how this game turned out .seeing the joel and ellie flashback missions really showed the games potential. Still try to think positive because #1 is my favorite game of all time..but its hard to after #2. Anyways giving it 5/10 because its not a unplayable game...just dissapointed… Expand

    If you couldn't tell, the second biggest commendation I can give this game is that it has an absolutely astonishing ability to make me hate a character. Not because of how she looks, or what sex she is. I don't care how many dogs the game makes you pet in it's weak attempts to make you like her.

    It shows a lot about how pathetic I am I guess, but it's been five days, and my day is still ruined. Maybe it's because they outright said that fans of the first game might hate this one? Who knows.

    This game is very pretty, but it's sort of like putting a cute snapchat filter on your arm that was just torn off. It certainly looks nicer than it would without it, but gosh darnit this is certainly a pile of trash. A painful pile of trash.

    They destroyed the first game in an attempt to tell a blatantly obvious message of 'revenge bad' (unless you're Abby, then revenge is perfectly fine). They tried to be artistic, and in the process managed to throw the love and adoration the fans of the first game had for Joel and Ellie in the trash. And then burn the trash. And then spit on the charred trash.

    And finally, once they finished spitting on the charred pile of trash that is Ellie and Joel, they walked away with hundreds of awards for being the best at spitting on burnt trash. Then they took all the money and awards the garbage bin gave them(while it is a very pretty garbage bin, with lots of flowers and high resolution) and used it to buy a pretty crown. Now that the game is finally out, they at last get to put the trash crown on their heads, that the art designers earned for them. But hey, what worth does a stupid fan have when you can get a cool crown, some pretty '100's' and a truck full of money?    … Expand

To the people genuinely looking for a real review of the game, please don't take the people who leave 0/10 reviews seriously, they most likely didn't play the game and probably just watched someones play through on YouTube, and so they didn't get the same experience as someone who played it themselves.

    Now for my review. Story Wise: The game was good, some parts were dreadful to play. But the story was great and I feel like if the ending made you feel some type of way then I think it did its job. I felt empty and lonely as the end of the game. Don't you think Ellie felt the same way? She's probably asking herself the same thing we asked ourselves, "now what?". The same people saying the game is trash are probably the same people who think Call Of Duty campaigns are master pieces where main character ends up fighting the main villain and crawling towards a weapon and flying away in a helicopter. This game is the truth. You didn't get the happily ever after. This is a tragic hero story, where the main character doesn't win. Not all people die a heros death. Just like Jesse was killed with no thought, it was the same way we killed Abbys dad, without a any thought, to Abby Jesse was just an NPC, he's not important.

    What the game did wrong:
    1.)Owen, mans was so boring to me he was just some average guy, his voice was monotone and his dialogue was pretty dry.
    2.) I feel a lot of people felt the same way, when Abby pulled up to the theater with her gun drawn at Ellie and there was mad suspense in the air only to cut 4 years ago and have us playing as Abby. They made it super obvious what they were doing and a lot of people noticed it too and that got me tight, they were trying to make us feel sorry for Abby or look at it from her shoes, but to be honest they placed that part of the game at a point where nobody cares about Abbys sad back story. It wouldn't have been a problem had they probably done that flashback earlier in the game. Also they dragged Abbys part of the game way too long it killed the suspense and it didn't make me want to play more, I sometime felt like rushing through the encounters or getting off because I really didn't care about Abby. However... over time even though I know that's what they were trying to do.. I did begin to sort of kind of like Abby. BUT Fighting Ellie as Abby was torture!!! I really though I was going to kill Ellie but that was fun and brought back the suspense.
    3.) I got tired of Seattle and I didn't like how we kept going to the same places back and forth even though story wise it made sense. I guess I really just liked the idea of how much we got to travel in the Last Of Us Part 1, and the different weather and seasons.

    What the game did right:
    1.) Enemies. Big improvement from the first game, 3 new infected types, Stalkers, Shamblers, and the Rat King. Stalkers were my favorite infected type, they had me scared to go through a door, or turn my back, especially when I can hear them running and crawling around with my headphones on and lights turned off. Shamblers were annoying but they changed up the dynamic so they were welcomed. The Rat King, was just so appealing and terrifying to look at, it makes me wonder how many other unique infected are out there in the world. They also added Hefty humans in the game that took more damage those were cool I guess.

    2.Combat. Hand to hand combat was my favorite part of the game, I loved how fluid the dodging was and cocking my fist back and knocking a runner out. THE EXPLOSIVES SO SATISFYING. I loved how the enemies would just disintegrate and turn to pink mist when blown up instead of just rag dolling a full body in the air as if they were jumping on a trampoline. I loved how if you shot a clicker with a shotgun in its legs they would become handicapped and you could easily shoot them in head. Same goes for most enemies if you shoot at their arms, legs, or head, chunks or entire limbs would get blown off.

    3. Graphics/Art , Level design . Of course beautiful, some of the most aesthetically pleasing parts in the game were in Jackson I loved the snow and lodges, and Eugenes secret weed farm, and when there was a massive horde chasing us. The Sky Bridge very atmospheric and creative. The island when the whole place was up in flames it really felt chaotic. Ellies Farm I loved how tranquil it felt despite the sadness and anger that dwelled in Ellies head. Santa Barbra, just cause it felt like a whole new game and the filter was vivd and warm compared to Seattles grey filter. I loved how Ellie was about it, she had the bloody white tank top on, she was coming to play no games, especially the cutscene when she encounters the rattlers and she messes both of them up, and she's holding the SMG looking badass. The ending where theirs nothing but fog and water... beautiful really felt like the edge of the world, fitting for the final fight.

There was some issues with it such as not going in depth with the Rattlers, Owen's motives, the sex scene, but overall I thought it was good. I'm being generous with my review because I feel the game is getting unnecessary hate from "Joel fanboys" who are just triggered that the game killed off their favorite character and how "unjust" his death was.

    Granted some people may genuinely hate the game and that's ok, but I think the story was good. It made you see things from the villain's perspective and had people relating to Abby and see where she was coming from and if you can make a sympathetic villain like Abby that's good story telling. There was also little key things throughout the story that painted a bigger picture and deeper story. An example was the bracelet Dina made Ellie. It spurs questions to the end of the story. Depending on how you look at it, either Dina left Ellie or she's back in Jackson waiting for her while she says bye to Joel.

    The moral was also on par with the last game. The last game the theme of family was consistent throughout the game and in this one the theme of vengeance was also heavily emphasized.

    As for the complaints that the promos were misleading because it lead you to believe that Joel wasn't dead. I'm not sure if anyone remembers the promos for the first game, but it lead me to believe that I would be playing Ellie instead of Joel the entire time. So this isn't the first time that we've been mislead before.

    I just hate seeing a well developed game get bashed because the users disagree with the story and now it's gotten to the point of threatening the voice actors. This fandom is becoming as toxic as Star Wars and all because everyone is just upset because they're obsessed with Joel.    … Expand

Многие ругают игру за ЛГБТ, но поверьте эти моменты хоть и присутствуют, но их очень мало.Максимальная оценка! Не преувеличиваю тк понравилось абсолютно все.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is undoubtedly one of the most polarizing games ever. It also happens to be one the best games I have ever played.

    Why there's such a huge disparity between the user and critic reviews doesn't surprise me at all -- people are reactionary. Once word got out that one of the most celebrated video game protagonists of all time was killed in such brutal fashion AND players were expected play as his killer, the game was irredeemable. Ellie's sexuality and Abby's masculine figure were just the cherry on top of a clear dumpster fire.

    It just so happens that all of those disjointed elements came together to form a masterpiece.

    Naughty Dog decided that a cliched storyline would be too simple -- so they decided to go against the grain and create one of the most f*cked up video game stories I've ever experienced.. and I'm glad they did. I remember watching Abby impale Joel's skull numerous times before finally putting him out of his misery right in front of Ellie. In that moment, I hated Abby just as much as you could anyone. She definitely felt "irredeemable" at that moment in time.

    Through phenomenal character development and plot direction, we somehow eventually come to empathize with Abby. We don't necessarily forgive her for murdering Joel, but we do understand why she did it and at least try to work past it. It takes Ellie murdering all of Abby's close friends and acquaintances to arrive to a similar judgement. Near the end, in Ellie's gritty encounter with Abby at the beach, we don't want either character to die. By that point, they've both been robbed of (almost) everything they had, and revenge was nothing more than a moot point.

    I quite enjoyed the ending as well. It isn't a happy ending, but it's one that gives gravity to all of the choices made throughout the game. The overwhelming feeling is "emptiness", but Naughty Dog has left a lot to our own imagination, along with a strong possibility for a third game.

    In the end, the parts of the game that linger with me are:

    Outstanding graphics - beautiful scenery, stellar facial animations
    Top-notch voice acting - as expected with Naughty Dog
    Amazing score - especially in regards to the acoustics
    Impactful story - it's emotional, brutal, and raw, blurs the line between gaming and movies
    Gameplay - major improvement from the first, really intelligent enemy AI and fun stealth/gunplay

    At the end of the day, The Last of Us 2 has a leg up on its predecessor and is in my Top 10 of this generation's games. It's one of my favorite cinematic games, up there with Uncharted 4, but factoring in the graphics, story, and gameplay, it's absolutely a must-play for anyone. 10/10    … Expand

    Horrible. Historia vacía, sin desarrollo de los personajes. Mala narrativa. Guión incoherente. Nada que ver con la primera parte. Es mal juego porque, siendo la campaña el punto fuerte de esta saga, no cumple con su cometido; es demás decir que no contiene multijugador. Recomiendo comprar de segunda mano y luego revenderlo (si es que alguien aún lo quiere comprar).

Joel was miserable then he found Ellie and now it’s happening with Abby and Lev. The graphics are wonderful and the story is good but has some downs. Honestly I felt bad for Abby and I never thought I would have empathy for her. I cared for Ellie tooo overall the game made me question everything I was trying to figure out if I wanted Abby dead or Alive I liked her but I loved Joel but deep down I knew Joel wasn’t a good person. People keep saying Abby is evil but it’s not true she doesn’t kill innocent people and at the beginning of the game she tells her group not to kill Ellie because she’s innocent and didn’t kill her dad. Abby is a good person because she saves Lev and his sister. Ellie and Abby our the same both lose their father and got lost in revenge. Honestly I think Ellie doesn’t know who she really is- I feel like she wants to forgive Joel and she does when she doesn’t kill Abby. But through out the game Ellie is ruthless and angry which she should her dad died but at the same time she’s lost she’s not the Ellie from the first game she’s older and darker. This game gives me mixed feelings it’s morally grey which is realistic no one is perfect. But I liked the story because it was realistic every action has a consequence. Abby killing Joel made Ellie kill all her friends. And Joel killing Abbys dad made her come for him. This game shouldn’t be a 0/10 the gameplay is fun and the graphics are amazing. Another thing is the game wasn’t ruined by sjw you were just mad Joel died. Yes there is a gay character and guess what there was a gay character in the first game. Lev being trans is an interesting plot and helps you build a bond with him honestly Lev is one of the most bad ass characters. Ok I’m done I respect your opinion if you dislike the game.… Expand

Even the most memorable moments in gameplay, level design, dialogue etc are the best with this character. I loved almost every second of the game.. the way Ellie loses focus on what's important in exchange for her hateful feelings and also Abby's journey for revenge and ultimatly gaining someone to care, really care for. It kinda reminded me of Joel's journey in the first game of being a real **** to caring about someone again.. Abby goes thru the same thing actually, not as fleshed out as Joel story was but still..But the ending got botched because even tho I understand that Ellie goes out for a last chance to revenge Joel (even having settled, raising a child and having a life) she doesn’t sees it thru in the final second.. so that’s something I didn’t quite get behind. But overall a solid experience, lot’s of tearjerking moments, beautiful grafics and wonderful gameplay!!!… Expand

And for me it was awful. Don't get me wrong, not everything was awful. I loved the gameplay mechanincs, graphics, soundtrack and AI. First half was very good, I really enjoyed the game even after that horrible death of Joel. But one thing I can't get over is how stupidly the death was written. That whole situtation is so damn stupid in wider perspective of previous game and all those situations Joel and Ellie went through. Remember how Joel saw "injured" man on the road and exactly knew what that was about? He was so experienced after so many years of survival. Same for Tommy. But now? Well I'm Tommy and this is my brother Joel hello hello come to our town you really bad looking strangers. Oh and Joel, could you please stand in the middle of the room without gun in your hand just to be easy target? Thank you. I mean come on, that is really poor writing. And don't tell me that after 4 years living in the safe city BUT still going on patrols killing clickers and dangerous strangers Joel would get so soft and incatious. I won't even start about lies in the trailers, but at least they could leave Joel in game as Ellie's halucinations or something because of that PTSD. At least we would have some sort of farewell with Joel's character. 20+ hours of gameplay and there was maybe 2 hours top with Joel around or somehow included. But how could ND do worse after this I asked myself while playing. Well the other half of the game you play as this really unlikeable character Abby who murdered Joel gruesomely. Her side of story really bored. I really didn't care about her NPC father or romance with Owen etc. How could this be a good idea? I'm really sad after this waiting. If they would at least include Joel more in the story. I hope there won't be any part III. And I hope Troy Baker will play some new awesome character in a game that is not made by Naughty Dog because I really like that guy.… Expand

    Amazingly beautiful game. Had me hooked from beginning to end. I recommend spending as much time searching around, and exploring every corner. You get more out of the game both content wise, and from the story. As for the story, there were some points that didn't hit well. But overall, I think it was a worthy sequel to the first game.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
