    Distinctly less compelling than the previous game, which was outstanding. If this were a new game, it probably would've been a "must play". But knowing it's following up from the first game, not much has been improved upon to make it solid enough.

    Characters likes Ellie and Dina are not relatable and game play mechanics are the same as the 5 year old game. Despite all the disappointment and bad feelings that have come out in response to this game, it's still one of the best experiences I've ever received from Naughty Dog/gaming in general. I watched the leaks before playing (had my best friend watch too) and we were even more excited to play. My first playthrough was literally all over the place, but replaying the game on Survivor+ is definitely worth a shot. Enemy AIs are aggressive, sneaky, and not blind. On having an "open mind" and being a huge fan of the first game, I figured that I would enjoy the story regardless of how it turned out. The gameplay and graphics were enough to be excited about alone. The best review for this game I've heard went along the lines of, "0/10 for making us smoke the Devil's lettuce, 10/10 for letting us punch sh*t as Abby."

    Seriously, I ended up loving the story and characters more than I expected, especially the "unlikable" ones/parts. Even from the leaks, I was able to sympathize with Abby's motivations and actions. She kills for survival and revenge just as much as any other badass character in their world. I immediately understood why Joel had to die. Now, I may have also gotten really drunk to the point where I was throwing up/having flashbacks of Joel's death like Ellie (which, funnily enough, directly prevented me from writing this review sooner; better that I wrote this sober ig), but my point is, the impact of Joel's death is seen and felt clearly through this game's general reception. It's quite depressing and upsetting. I don't want to insult his character more than it has already been, but Joel wasn't a good person for all that he did in the first game. He took away Ellie's choice and he would do so again. He was just like Abby for many years after the outbreak too. Abby becomes like Joel (him being initially reluctant to protect Ellie) when she decides to protect Yara and Lev , who deserve much more love. You teach them to like dogs, they help you confront your fear of heights, and Yara gets a second chance to live which allows her to kill Isaac, cleverly concluding the WLF-Seraphite conflict. Lev is practically Ellie from the first game (and, uh, trans pride ;3 maybe the TLoU3 will be a transitioning journey heh).
    They get a second chance, but not without suffering some consequence. Joel dies for wiping out the Fireflies, Lev loses his mother and sister, Abby loses everyone and is enslaved for months before being saved by Ellie just to receive more abuse. Ellie loses her left ring and pinky fingers as a consequence for her revenge quest, tragically making her unable to play guitar the same as she once could. This game also has amazing set pieces, some of the best in gaming.

    Ultimately, I can't imagine a stronger motivation for a revenge story than Joel. You get the feeling early on that your actions and everyone else's are morally ambiguous. Who can say that someone or something is morally right or wrong when our story revolves around brutally killing other survivors just like us? The Last of Us Part 2 is not it's predecessor and it shouldn't be, though it does expand upon everything that the first game was and I'm glad that this story got to be told and that they didn't end it at Part 1. At the same time, I do feel bad for the people let down by this game, but come on guys, it's at least a 7/10 lol.    … Expand

    Story and plot 1/10 they have completely **** on what made the last game great and that was the relationship between Joel and Ellie

    Barely 2 hours into the game the angry woman comes in and kills Joel and then to add salt the wound druckmann inserted himself in the game literally spitting on Joel and showing how little he obviously cares for the previous fans.

    I did really enjoy the game. It seems a lot of people are bashing the game without even playing it. The pacing is weird and it's a little longer than I would have preferred but the characters are amazing and the gameplay is a lot better and more fluid than the first one. Scenarios are really diverse and fun to traverse. Art direction is unrivaled both in visuals and sound. I wouldI did really enjoy the game. It seems a lot of people are bashing the game without even playing it. The pacing is weird and it's a little longer than I would have preferred but the characters are amazing and the gameplay is a lot better and more fluid than the first one.     I cant understand Neil Druckmann!! Why anyone needed to kill Joel and this storyline?! Its disgusting like piece of **** It makes you reallyyy dissapointing I understood what would happen to the ending and if you want to remove some characters nothing really happens I swear!! Like Dina at the ending I thought at least Ellie will kill Abby but nothing freaking happens Ellie needed to kill Abby at least to make story better and why to they lied to us!! There is a freaking marketing lie we thought Joel woukd help us in the game but 30 seconds later we saw Joel was killed by Abby b.tch but if we screw storyline and characters everything is perfect like gameplay, voice actors, soundtracks, artificial inteligence are almost perfect! Just there is something I need to say most of gaming channels said that the counterattacks are really hard to do but it was really easy for me I think because of I play Batman Arkham games a lot nevermind and if you punch you can feel it really good, if you want toplay stealth, survivor theme Tlou2 is the best option for you but you need to screw storyline...    … Expand

And I just finished it. If a game is "supposed to be bad", why after 30 hours do I feel like I needed more? The story is masterfully crafted with very precisely calculated time jumps. 6 YEARs! That's how long it took them to make this game. 6 years! And I can't believe the sheer amount of hate it's received in only 48 hours since it's release, simply because it dared to do something different. So screw all of you who review bombed this game, because honestly, I absolutely loved the game from the start to finish. It doesn't affect the gameplay one bit that they're LGBTQ+ characters, so why should you care? I understand the toxic gaming community is butthurt about certain characters being killed off, but what did you expect was going to happen? The story is more realistic, in the sense that revenge isn't a straight forward, black and white issue. Revenge requires the ultimate sacrifice and in the end, forgiveness is the harder path.     Is not a fan service game. But is still good. In my opinion the story could have been better, totally agree, but is a real well made game. You can see the efforts in development.
    If you ask me, I'd prefer de first one. But this one takes vengeance to a new whole level and that makes it different .

    While the story is bleak, thematically it is flawless. For the game itself, it is one of the most beautiful looking games ever to be made, the action is brutal and satsfying, the stealth is challenging and the survival aspects will make you loot every drawer you see.

I have to give them credit for taking risks, and cranking the intensity up to 11, but the gamble doesn’t pay off. It uses the original story as a springboard, strangely not understanding what made it special, and why its bittersweet open ending worked so well. It’s a bleak story, poorly paced, reeking of self importance and not meant to be enjoyable.

    As I said, there’s a lot of talent in this game, and it has its moments. I think the 10/10 reviews are as bad as the 0/10 reviews, both are toxic overreactions. In the end, it only matters if you liked it or not. I personally, did not.    … Expand

    I thought it would be a game of revenge, but it turns out to be a redemption.
    It touches something deep inside my mind after 36 hours of gaming.

    Первые 30 минут игры мне понравились даже не смотря на ЛГБТ повестку.

    Что мы имеем нашего любимого главного героя по первой части убивают с невероятной жестокостью.Какой то недомужик по имени Эбби забивают клюшкой как какого то насильника и убийцу детей.И тут становиться понятно что уже не будет этого дуэта.Нил Дракман ха я вас обманул вы что хотели в продолжении увидеть их двоих вместе? Ха да пошли вы на х*й!.И просто плюет в лицо фанатом.Но дальше еще больше...
    После того как Элли убивает всех друзей этого недомужика нас заставляют играть за нее.И как бы Нил пытается показать тех зверей и в частности Эбби что они хорошие.Вот посмотрите они живут как все защищаются как все спасают незнакомцев которые им помогли.Но вот только существует одна проблема.Вы этому просто не верите!Хорошие люди не идут на другой конец света чтобы забить человека стадом и мучат его до смерти на глазах у человека который ему дорог!!И даже когда Элли просит не убивать его Эбби все равно это делает.После такого ты уже не можешь сопереживать этому герою каким бы его не показывали.Кто то может сказать Джоел убил цикад и врача который мог спасти всех.Да Джоел тоже не ангел но между ними есть огромные отличия.Во первых Джоел убивал цикад не ради мести и не ради своего удовлетворения а для того чтоб спасти близкого для себя человека.Элли она стала ему как дочь.И прошу заметить что ни у Джойла ни Элли не спросили хотят они пожертвовать жизнью Элли или нет.Цикады сами так решили и им плевать хотелось на жизни этой девочки.За что они и были наказаны Джойлом.Но прошу заметить он не пытал их не издевался над ними как какой то больной психопат он только хотел спасти Элли.Почти все люди об этом думали кто проходил первую часть и так же как и я проникся к этим героям.А нам просто наложили в душу.Иногда в игре показывают флешбэки от которых ты радуешься как малолетняя девочка.Но этого мало мы хотели гораздо большего.Развития отношений и новой истории.Что мы увидели?Плевок в душу фанатов первой части.Жестокое убийство главного героя а соответственно никакого старого дуэта и навязывание истории никому ненужного недомужика.Концовка с выводом к чему приводит месть.И последнее что хотелось сказать последний ролик... Как фаната первой части я не мог сдержать слез но правда эта все заслуги первой части а не этой.Мое мнение фанатам первой части лучше вообще не играть в нее ни в коем случае.Вам нагадят в рот и добавят блевоты когда вы все проглотите.Это серия игры для меня уже мертва и я ни в коем случае не буду играть в продолжения если оно вообще будет.    … Expand

He destroyed humanity's last hope of creating a vaccine to eradicate the pandemic and he thought only of himself. The game provides the experience of living the other side of the story, it is said that the story is always told from the point of view of the winner but this does not happen in TLOU2. You step into Abby's shoes, watch your father die for trying to save humanity, of course he would have to sacrifice Ellie's life, but she was willing to pay that price herself. Anyway, the game is incredibly well built, with strong characters, with strong personalities. Blind revenge, and that naughtydog is able to show well in this game.… Expand

    The game is really good. It is like a good movie with awesome gameplay! The game can on harder difficulty be really challenging, which is really good. The only problem I have with this game, is that some parts take a lot of time. But that is not a problem because of in my opinion the story is really good.     Mindblowing from start to finish.
    Excellent graphics with improved gameplay that i really enjoyed and still am.
    The story is so perfectly told.
    Druckmann has managed to make us feel for both Ellie and Abby. Showed us both sides of the story and made us ponder for so many things.
    So heartbreaking to watch Ellie being unable to play the guitar, knowing that this was her only thing connecting her to her father figure, Joel.....
    She literally lost everything for the desire to seek revenge.
    There are so many things i wanna say about the story, but i know 5000 words wont be enough.

Besides, the storyline is focused on show that in a world like theirs, there are no heroes, only survivors, and sometimes we have to make a mistake to learn/understand somethings. The political vision is also a controversial theme, once we have today a peak of hatred and prejudice. The developers were very brave by doing a game that many people didn’t want or expect, but what they truly need. That game deserves to be played and appreciated, it’s a life lesson from beginning til the end.… Expand

Things made sense, even though it sometimesI don't know how they did it, but Neil Druckman's team surpassed the insane expectations I personally had for this sequel. It's a story full of twists that involves you from the second you ride into Jackson as Joel. The graphics were astonishing, the acting made you forget that the people weren't real, and the story just felt... raw. Authentic. Things made sense, even though it sometimes didn't go the way you want it to, very much like in Game of Thrones. As a piece of literature, this game really outdid itself - you feel that there are layers upon layers beneath the sentences spoken and the things done by your character. The number of times I covered my mouth in shock, or awe, or sadness, or chuckled at the stabs (metaphorical) or stiffened up at the real stabs they took at each other, are countless. The Gameplay mechanics are fluid, and feel so grounded. You feel every shot you take, every dodge leaves your heart throbbing, crawling/sneaking around felt real.
    I'm jealous you get to play this game for the first time. This was an unforgettable experience, and a more than worthy successor to the genius that is The Last of Us.    … Expand

People online kept giving it grief over the ending but I really feel as though it was suited to the game. I also didn’t mind that it jumped between times and I really enjoyed learning about a new bunch of characters - being that of Abby and the other WLFs.     Je m'explique et il nécessaire que je rentre plus profondément dans le jeu donc : ATTENTION SPOILER!

    Le premier gros truc qui arrive avec la mort de Joel ça va je l'ai vite accepté et digéré car ça coincide avec l'univers donc je passe , rien a dire dessus même si ça fais tjr chier au fond. Mais la deuxieme partie ! A LAIDE!
    On me met entre les main un perso sans saveur , avec des petitess scène me disant : "regarde elle aime les chiens , regarde ses potes sont cool ils s'inquiètent , tu vas bien finir par l'aimer hein ??" Lamentable.Je n'ai pas besoin de jouer autant un personnage pour le comprendre et comprendre sa vision et son but. Là c'est juste un forcing inutile et qui plus es je trouve le personnag écrit de façon TOTALEMENT cliché . Rien d'exeptionnel , ses amis , inssipide à souhait , mention spécial tout de même a Owen qui pour moi etait le meilleur personnage du groupe d'Abby.Il est très important de savoir que j'en ai rien a faire des pseudo LGBT mes c*****es and co , polémique créer par des déficants mental frustré.Non osef total.On m'a juste forcer à aimer et comprendre un personnage dont j'en avais juste rien a foutre.Et encore une fois on peux résumer ce perso en une cinématique de 10 minute hein. Là nonj , c'est juste de la bréanlette intellectuel à vouloir faire le pseudo génie d'écriture en nous mettant du côtés opposé à Ellie. Cher Neil , on es pas débile , on le comprend très bien apr nous même tous ça. Quand j'entend que Abby est bien écrit , j'ai juste envie de rire. Fais un jeu entierement dessus à la limitte car soyons sincère , pendant la partie de Abby y a juste zero émotion , c'est full forcé, j'aurais préféré jouer Alice en vraie, je trouverai ça plus interessant d'aller chercher une balle qu'on me lançerais.

    Je suis dégouté car j'ai commencé le jeu en survivant , j'ai surkiffé , genre vraiment , jouer avec ellie , fouillant absoluement tout de A a Z mais à l'arrivé de la aprtie avec Abby , comrpenant le twist made in CM1 , j'ai fais option difficulté trés facile instant, puis j'ai rush jusqu'à la fin pour voir comment ils s'en sortiraient.

    Finalement , pet foireux , histoire de pseudo vengeance c'est pas bien gneugneu, vue et revue un milliard de fois.A la limitte tu m'enlève toute la partie inutile d'Abby , j'aurais refait le jeu direct , sans problème , même avec cette fin. Mais là le forcing de "tu vas aimer Abby , je veux que ton esprit sois torturé ahahah car tu aime ellie mais regarde ellie et son groupe son aussi des criminels".... pff allez, Nul / zéro.On es intelligent , on comprend pas besoin de nous prendre la main... Pareil l'écriture des autres personnage du groupe d'ellie c'est un peu osef , peut être Jesse qui sort un peu du lot. Dina osef total , inssipide à souhait et inutile. Y a réellement des problème d'écriture et de résolution , ça balance leur balse comme ça direct tmtc la famille vient faire un barbeccue chez moi....juste wtf...
    Mise à part ce volet nul à chier :

    -Graphiquement c'est magnifique
    -L'Ambiance est grandiose
    -Le son et les musiques quoique plus discrète sont génial
    -Les expressions faciales très réussis
    -Le gameplay très classsique , trop peut être,un peu lourd je trouve des fois dans les mouvement et la rapiditée d'exécutiion
    -Scénario : Atrocement mal emmené... ça en devient une soufrance ne serais ce que de jouer dans la deuxième partie...
    -VF + VO parfaites

    Quel gachis , franchement. En finissant le jeu j'ai eu envie de relancer le premier.... c'est pour dire.

    J'ai même pas le courage de refaire un ng + car je sais le nombre de scène insuportable que j'ai à jouer... non mais franchement.

    Et encore une fois parmis toutes les critiques dont beaucoup sont débiles genre 0/20 lgbt mes burnes etc , faut pas se leurer hein : je pense qu'une TRES grande majorité de personne n'ont vraiment pas aimer ce scénario et comment étaient emmené les choses. Maintenant si vous avez tout aimé , j'en suis très heureux pour vous je ne blamerais personne , tout le monde à le droit de penser ce qu'il veut , en ce qui me concerne vous avez pue lire ici mon avis.

    The last of us c'est 70% de scénario et le reste du gameplay.L'enrobage est là mais l'âme elle est inexistante. Dédicace à la presse "spécialisé en chéquier" et à sa crédibilitée de 20/20..... bande de gr!!!^rrr.Il faut clairement ne pas avoir jouer au premier ou l'avoir renier entierement au moment de lancer le Part 2 pour mettre une note pareil vue le nombre INCROYABLE d'incohérence niveau scénario

    Maybe you try your best to send out some important/positive messages through the game but please do it via some correct channel, dont do it through the game ,you suck at it!!! You totally destroy the flow of the game, the story line and logic of the game is a total Bs.

    don't listen to the nerd rage, this game is incredible. Incredible story and graphics with solid gameplay. A bit too long, but that is my only issue. Other than that, well worth the wait.

    Not even once during the game did I feel that a certain agenda was being forced on me. Everything felt so natural, so "unimportant" compared to the purpose of the game. Certain sensitive social issues are presented with extreme attention and success. Anyone feeling triggered or annoyed, should welcome themselves to year 2020.

    This game is spectacular. It’s the closest video games have been to stories on the same level as TV shows and movies. The gameplay is fun and provides constant stress. Graphics are the best I’ve seen.

    Waited 7 years for this game just to be crapped on. Neil sold out every one of his fans with this terrible story pushing worldviews and gender politics. Unnatural and inorganic storytelling that makes no sense to the franchise. I feel no emotion during any point of this game. Pathetic!

There is nothing entertaining in killing one of the main characters for no good reason /at least at the begging of the game/ especially if that character is very likable. If this game was some other generic survival shooter no body would care but we are talking here about sequel of hte LoU - one of the best games on PS3 and PS4. The high sales on this game are only because of the expectations. Now those expectations are ruined and the next weeks will see a lot of people selling their copies of the game. Really sad true - the story destroyed this game. Also the unethical practice of Sony to attack streamers, to obviously pay people to write 10/10 user and critics reviews make me reconsider if it is good idea for me in the future to buy game on preorder or digitaly. Also the critics prove that they don't work accurately - when more than 56 000 people /at the moment of this opinion/ are saying that the game is not good that proves that the critics have to reconsider how they work and even stop been critics - no body wants false paid reviews!… Expand

    Awesome graphics and story! The gameplay is so brutal, you've never seen Ellie hits the enemies this heavy! Except the gameplay the story is completely mind blowing and so deep that teach you a lot of things. Incredible dualism that will effect the narrative impact in many and incredible ways, thank you naugthy dog.
