Listen, if you loved the first game DO NOT PLAY THIS, The Last Of Us 2 might have great visuals and cool combat but it ruins everything that have to do with the story, this game has no respect for the fans nor the subject matter, the writers just wanted to do their own stupid thing, so they kill Joel, "OK fine" i say almost in tears, "let's see where they go with it, it is interesting" I say, but it actually is soo stupid, I don't want to spoil more, if you haven't played the first one play this and you will have real fun with it but to all the fans of the original delete this game from your mind, think that it is not cannon, think it as an alternative universe, because, and I am sad to say it for game I was waiting for 7 years, it is trash, this game should not exist, and for those that will say"but it is marvelous, a technical standpoint.... " yes it is, but the last of is the STORY, the characters, the relationships, not the graphics or the combat, graphics and combat ARE GOOD, but it is still trash. I would also like to talk about the ending to this piece of **** called The Last of Us Part 2, Ellie has been through soo much, SOO MUCH, and she does not kill Abbie(woman Kratos), WHY WHY DO THIS, she kills so many people across her journey fo revenge and at the end she doesn't get revenge, WHY, I am not angry, no, I am just disappointed, I almost jumped from my balcony with this ending, fans of the first, please don't do this to yourselves, play something else, not this, please.... If you are a Last of us part 1 fans, you will feel physical pain and sick in the stomach when you play as Abby, after her brutally murder Joel(because he killed her father in part 1) within 100 mins into the game. Also worth mention that Joel just walk into a room full of strangers(Abby and her friends), without any hesitation or suspicious, and said to everybody, “Hey, I’m Joel.” and JUST LIKE THAT, get himself killed. :)

Well first off it had a bad story Joel dying to a golf club is not a good way for him to die and why would he stay in the middle of a room filled with strangers and give his name while the company blatantly lied to us about Joel being later in the game and you play as Joel’s killer and they try to make you sympathise with her but you play as her longer than you play as Ellie this ruined the franchise the original one had great story telling and character development but this one
was your average revenge plot gone horribly wrong Ellie literally kills everyone but let’s Joel’s killer go I could think of multiple ways to make this better like maybe Joel dies by sacrificing himself for Ellie near the end of the game then let Ellie chase after Abby. Do not buy this game the other thousands of negative reviews are just trying to warn you not review bombing people wouldn’t be doing this if they didn’t care so it has a reason because this game isn’t about gameplay you buy for the story and it is horrible. Then there’s outright manipulation replacing Joel in the trailers with Jessie. Also really Metacritic? Blocking reviews including my first one.

    Gameplay- 5-6/10
Graphics- 10/10 (which I don’t really care about graphics too much)
    Story 0/10
Do not buy this game since it’s a story game and not something you buy for graphics save your money.

Я в какую-то Санто-Барбару играю, а не в Last of Us. А концовка абсолютно бездарна. Тебе с ухмылкой на лице говорят что всё это время ты потратил зря. Ни радости, ни жалости ни грусти у меня эта игра не вызывает. Только отвращение. Expand

First of graphics and technical problems. I cannot say anything against graphics. Everything looks realistic, the world is full of details that will captivate you and you will feel like you are part of it.
Secondly, the gameplay is also fun. You can sneak around if you want and kill everyone like an assassin or rush in and blast your way through but be careful... you do not have much ammo so look around all the time.
And lastly the story... As we all know there is some big controversy around it. I really enjoyed the story. Of course, there are a few things I would change. For example, it should be more chronological so that you play with both characters on the same day. But regardless of this story is really cool and surprise you every time. I think that everything that characters did is realistic and true to their characters. 2 hours from the end I was already thinking that it is over but then another part of the story kicked in and I was happily surprised.
Overall I can only recommend this game. It was a blast playing it and I think it changed my mindset how I am looking at the world. Thanks, Naughty Dogs.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The biggest attraction of the game was the fraternal love that developed between Joel and Ellie throughout the entire game until the end, that's why everyone liked it, and they repeated the game (I repeated the game 7 times) The worst decision was to kill Joel at the start of the game, and replace the fraternal love that developed in the first game with love crap at first sight lol. We ALL bought the game from Joel and Ellie. We expect dramatic scenes between Joel and Ellie and the brilliant idea was to kill him after 40min of gameplay. The story of TLOU 2 is a total rubbish which I am sure NO ONE will play the game 2 times, for the simple reason that the story is not enjoyable ... in the first game the vast majority played the campaign several times .. I doubt very much that anyone wants to play it a second time. Another point, all the other characters could have been dismembered or burned alive and we wouldn't have minded ... BECAUSE THERE WAS NO DEVELOPED ATTACHMENT. The only attachment we had was the Joel - Ellie relationship (who was even having a hard time, and they could have worked from there). They really should fire those who had the stupid idea to eliminate fraternal love and incorporate love without any attachment from users, I don't think they can work on a TLOU 3. Ah, good job taking Ellie's fingers off her so she could never play the guitar again, the only thing Joel left her.
it's a **** game of the year 2020, that is, ALL the games of this era can be scored 10/10 in graphs and gameplay easily, what really makes the difference is a good use of resources in terms of characters, story, narrative, dialogues, etc. 1. They forced the use of a character with whom we had no developed attachment. (IT WAS OBVIOUS THAT THE RESULT WOULD NOT BE GOOD.)2. We were tricked with the trailers, thinking Joel would be an accompanying character (Joel).3. The worst use of resources I have seen in years, should be ashamed to do this rubbish in so many years...Joel's death mismanaged, if only killed mid-game or given a "dignified" death and in the process "develop" attachment to Abby. For example: Playing with Ellie and Joel as Abby searches for Joel (and that way we are presented to Abby in a different way, ASI develops character attachment). But NOOOO Hahaha we'll have Abby kill one of the game's biggest resources at the first hour of play and then force you to play with Abby for 7 hours...that can go wrong?

Character animations, dialogues, cutscenes, story, emotions, actors play, graphic, environment design, sound design - this game is just so well put together. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First and foremost I must acknowledge the beautiful graphics and smoothness of gameplay, its as close to perfect as I've seen in any video game. The animations, sound, and world building is second to none. That's where the positives end for me. The plot completely drags beloved characters through the mud for no reason whatsoever. Its all hopelessly nihilistic. None of the characters overcome any struggle at all. Ellie ends up losing EVERYTHING shes built. Loses her father figure, Lover and child, all the way down to losing the ability to play the guitar. Congratulations naughty dog, you've succeeded in creating the most masochistic story ever told.

As far as the specifics of the story, I dont really want to get into that. The one issue I will bring up with the ending though is how in the hell does a beautiful flashback of Joel make Ellie want to STOP drowning Abby? Wouldn't that thought make her want to finish the job EVEN MORE?? What an absolute joke. Its really starting to feel like if there is a severe emotional reaction caused by a shocking scene with dramatic music behind it, the shills will just keep coming back for more. These writers fail to understand there needs to be so much more to a story to have an audience fall in love with the characters in this world. None of these characters are humanized at all or realistic in the slightest... We get to watch multiple "tasteful" sex scenes (according to the critics) which in reality are more of softcore porn.. Let me get this straight.. two 18 year old girls still obviously struggling with the notion of their homosexuality have a mature, intense sexual experience (while smoking weed)? Have the writers forgotten what it was like to be that young... Absolutely absurd writing, top to bottom, Im not even gonna touch on the abomination that is Abby. If we have any hope of maintaining good story telling in this medium we have to stop buying this trash.

This in itself would mean a 5/10.
Add to this a story (which was arguably the strongest point of its predecessor) that tries to be subversive but just ends up missing the mark, and you end up with a 3/10.
Sprinkle on top a zest of divisive political agenda and a negative attitude towards anyone genuinely expressing concerns about th game, and you end up with an even more sour experience and a 1/10.

As a sidenote, I should emphasize that having a political undertone in a game is not a problem per se. But it becomes a problem when it turns into an agenda that supplants other aspects of the game. For instance, when the a priori decision to have "strong" women (read: women that are like men, for some reason) pushes you to design an ultra-buffed girl that doesn't make sense in such a post-apo world (an ultra-buffed man wouldn't either btw), or to put a pregnant woman on the front line when such a person would be the most valuable for the surviving community at that very moment. That's not "strong", that's ridiculous. So ridiculous that you end up seeing the writers pulling the strings instead of losing yourself in a consistent story.

On this game, they gracefully went to a bunch of stranger and gave their name and yes instant revenge from the antagonist. 2. collecting trading cards (dr. ockman) and disregarding the PSvita? why because she have a ps3? Not a satisfying revenge from my other fav character. Controlling the antagonist making you feel she's a protagonist she's got her revenge in 2hrs of playing. If you never played the part 1, I think you might like it. Amazing graphics, amazing scenery and the music is so good. To be honest seeing this as a game of the year makes me edit my score to 1. The writers re-wrote all the male characters to be mindless jabronies, Wtf. Joel is john wick, he has a code of survival in the first game, and in this one he trusts random strangers with his real name acting like a noob??! The whole story is crap! crap writing and mediocre changes to gameplay(wow a jump button); kinda makes this not worth 60 dollars. Bring down the price. The script is nothing to me... there's no point in the game... the whole beginning of the game screams at you that you have to take revenge, and you light up with the idea, and at the end it's a total bottom... Ellie lets Abby go... so what's the point? So you'd leave her to live on this farm with Deena... and have no revenge, and Abby's the only one left... what's all this nonsense? They also made Joel guilty... maybe you shouldn't have killed that doctor, but nobody guaranteed that Ellie's death wouldn't be red... why Abby should have gotten revenge and Ellie would have made a stupid decision to let it go... what with all the sacrifices throughout the game... Ellie even killed a pregnant pancake to get to Abby... what the authors of the game did not understand... if you kill your favorite character from the first part and then just let it all go, then be ready for hit... graphics and gameplay on top... but the plot is certainly a bit of a drip... This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Sorry for my bad english but i have to tell my opinion after finish the game (I bought the collector).
I find that the game makes the events of the 1 completely useless and meaningless, the characters act in a completely ridiculous and insane manner, everything that we liked in the 1 is absolutely no longer present in this game, we pass half of the game playing a character that we hate without any charisma that seems far too forced, all that to end on a conclusion that is the opposite of something satisfactory ... There are so many gores scenes created to "shock" the player that after a while they lose all their impact and leave you completely numb.

The game is beautiful but it is not the most beautiful game ever created as some say, and although the animations are clean and worked, they are far from being as perfect and fluid as the gameplay of E3. Level gameplay apart from adding the dogs, it's exactly the same formula and the same game design as the first ...

In general I find that this game does not have 1 / 10th of the impact and the quality of narration that the first had, I do not know what Druckmann smoked when he said to have finished the game a lot and cried each time, because personally I felt absolutely no attachment to the story and to the new characters and I found certain scenes so cliché that it made me look up in the sky

I'm afraid of the future of Uncharted when I see what has become of this license, the studio that created this game seems to be totally different and the opposite of the Naughty Dog who made the games I grew up with and which I will remember all my life

But moving on to my honest opinion about this game in particular: I think the characters really stood out to me. As in any Naughty Dog game, this one is also very character-driven. Ultimately, this is a story about revenge, hate, and violence, but also about redemption and forgiveness. Yes, I agree that this theme has been heavily used in every entertainment medium, but they rarely do it justice. I can happily say that The Last Of Us Part II has not did justice to the theme itself, but also did stay true to the world, the character development, and the hidden symbology behind this perfectly crafted cyclic narrative (which I will not spoil, but it has to do with the ending itself). All the narrative beats fit perfectly with each other, and it always brings other elements of surprise, right when you think you know what to expect for the ending, another story beat hits you in the face and changes your perspective. Also, you should never go to part II expecting the same thing you experienced in part I. Although that same feeling can be felt through other types of relationships, and some perfect flashbacks, the first one is very different from the second one. Lastly, I just want to say that I think this game will not only define how we all experience video games in the future, but also define how they are engineered, thought, and its story will be discussed and debated for many years to come, just like we did for the first one.

PS: Don’t be the dick who gives 0’s without experiencing it.

    Pros: ALL, but . . .
Cons: The first 4 hours playing Abby like a character, I was HATING her, but after all long way, that I went through, I LOVED her as character.
I can understand, that some people doesn’t like the ending, but I LOVED It, Ellie just made a decision, which defined her as a person, and she’s alone, but she did right thing, she DID NOT kill Abby, but wanted all long way in the Game, she didn’t kill her because she is ABOVE It. Ellie understood, that she doesn’t hate Abby, now she hates only HERSELF, because she was stupid **** who rejected the dearest person in the world. And revenge for Joel it’s just a try to forgive yourself.
In the ending, Ellie repents before herself about everything she had done.

Visuals are stunning, the gameplay is the same of the first game but improved and with new mechanics like rapel, the story is pretty good and yes, Joel is killed but you can see an incredible evolution in characters and also you can see that all the things have consequences but the story has in my opinion a little problem at the end that can be solved in a dlc but it has the same quality as the first one.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. During my first playthrough of this game I was finding it a little difficult to keep going, not because of the story choices, but because I just wanted resolution of some sorts and through all the character building it took longer than expected to get there. All the combat scenarios just felt like a delay on me getting to the end of the narrative that I was so invested in discovering. Now that I've had time to process and sleep on the game a bit (which it appears like some of you review bombing should have done), this game executes what it wants to. It's a much darker game of hatred and spite, full of revenge and how it's and endless cycle... until someone breaks it. If Ellie kills Abby at the end, Lev would just hunt down Ellie, JJ would hunt down Lev and on and on it goes. Abby and Ellie were both good people corrupted by hatred, a poison that has no true antidote. It's heartbreaking to see the spiral that ensues with a character that we loved but I also felt it was realistic given that Ellie needed her life to have a meaning. Joel selfishly saved her so he didnt have to live with letting down a second daughter, and took Ellie's chance at providing meaning in the world from her, leaving her with so much survivor guilt. Once Joel died, Ellie's existence meant even less as the one person that doomed humanity to love her, was gone. Her life had even less meaning than before (to her). Therefore this revenge tale is not only seaking revenge on Joel's killers, but her hunt to find meaning through justice.

The gameplay itself is naughty dogs best yet by far, and it definitely leans into it's survival horror aspect more than the first game. No that I've gotten through the story, I am excited to go back and try different tactics and find all the collectibles and platinum this game. Whether you love or dont love the story that was told, this game's narrative has changed how story telling in games will be from now on, much like the last one did.

To all of the review bombers out there, either you are an xbox fanboy (honestly just make the switch ...I did), or you had actually gripes with the narrative, which is fair! However whats not fair is giving this game anything below a 8, based on it's technical prowess and powerful story (like it or not). It's not a tale of love like the first game, but one that is powerful in it's own way, and I think the more people let the story settle with them, the better and better it will become.

The Last of Us Part II - Minor Spoilers

The Last of Us changed the world of video games as it was not just a game but a life experience of unparalleled emotional depth that has never been seen before. While Part II is not on the same level, it took a different path by creating a dark, nonlinear and mentally destructive tale of revenge making it one of my favorite games on PS4.

The strongest element of this game is the emotional trauma that happens within the first hour which only gets more painful as the story progresses.

While exploring a meticulously crafted world where every abandoned room had a story to tell, I would catch myself standing and savouring the magnificent details unwilling to rush through a single meter. The music was divinely painful as every guitar string cut right in the heart. The brutal gameplay allowed Ellie to serve vengeance in the most horrific ways to NPCs that had names and often begged for mercy. Then suddenly, everything changed.

I did not understand why did I have to play as Abby. I hated her, I hated how she looked, what she said and no matter who she helped I felt nothing but infernal hatred. As the hours passed, my resentment grew to the point of bursting that happened during her final encounter where I was literally screaming because of what I was forced to do. I hated the game and what it was putting me through.

Even after switching back to Ellie, my heart kept pounding for an hour during which I realized that the point of Abby was not to show her personality but to fuel my hatred towards her and to further elevate my experience as Ellie. Mad with rage, I was ready for retribution but the last 10 impeccably crafted minutes changed everything. I felt Ellie's pain the entire game and yet, somehow I was ok with her decision.

During the epilogue, I realized how much the game has played with my hopes and feelings by not allowing me to know where the story was going. It left me confused, bitter and empty. I was unsure of what I should be feeling because no other game has ever had such a non linear emotional experience. The saddest part happens every morning when I wake up and my heart aches because it's all over. 10/10.

The graphics are amazing, the gameplay is pretty good. The characters are butchered to make gullible players hate them. And the story is just a straight up 0/10. If you have never played Tlou1 then this game should be pretty good for you, if you played Tlou1 then this game is more of a spinoff than a sequel. What should have been the easiest sequel in the history of gaming, became as disappointing as star wars and game of thrones. The last of us is Ellie and Joel. The bond made the game. The first part of the game is good, despite the poor treatment of joel's death, there are still good game mechanics and game play, good immersion to Ellie's road to revenge. The problem started at the second part of the game, needing the player to control the person that we hate and want us to feel sympathy for Abby. This just don't work as we are already filled with hatred for this character and playing as her is a torture for 10 hrs. We are at a point that we already don't care about her story and just want to get our revenge on her. And what surprise me the most is that, instead if getting the revenge we should be gettin, we get nothing at the end of the game and Ellie still lose everything. This game makes you feel very bad after finishing it and it should be scraped and remake. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Might have been an at least ok game if it wasn't a Last of Us title.
The story sacrifices established and loved characters in the most pathetic ways to introduce new characters that are mediocre at best and absolutely terrible at worst. They also expect you to connect to the Killer of Joel, which is something that is set up to fail if you had any love for the first game and got invested in the story. To add to that, established characters just act out of order, very little apart from the shell remains of them.
I will give the game this, it looks and sounds beautiful, has a dense atmosphere and is acted out really well (allthough not as good as the first part though), which is pretty much the only reason I played through it.
Another big problem is how the story is told, it's basically Inception with Flashbacks into Flashbacks into Flashbacks which gets pretty ridiculous fast. Also the fact that they introduced the Abby gameplay part AFTER she killed Joel is absolutely mimd bending, personally I just couldn't connect after the fact that she brutally butchered one of my favorite characters ever to be created in all of media, like he was a cheap NPC.
Apart from that Part 2 is a massive letdown to the core fanbase of Part 1, while it may please newcomers, passerbys and obviously mainstream media, for some arbatrary reasons.
Honestly I never felt the need to hate on a game on social media, but this was the breaking point for me.

I honestly think it's necessary to give the game time to ruminate and allow your feelings and thoughts to clear. The Last of Us Part II is a difficult game, not necessarily in gameplay, but emotionally and mentally. It can be a miserable emotional experience, but this is used to challenge what storytelling in video games should be about. Fans of film and literature have had generations to develop their stories to be challenging, and not always 'fun' while games are still attempting to evolve the storytelling in the medium, and Naughty Dog is one of the leaders of that.

Naughty Dog could have easily made a Joel and Ellie adventure, and granted, everyone would have been happy with it, but it would fail to push the narrative effectively. While Joel doesn't have a lot of time within the story itself, make no mistake, the game is still about the relationship about Joel and Ellie. The game is also working to challenge typical structure and perspective typically found within video games. My hope is when this game is given a second look through the online community, it's treated a positive and necessary part of the development of narrative focused games, and I do believe history will be kinder on the game than the present.

So, off my soap box now, let's talk about the technicals.

    Voice Acting:
Ashley Johnson killed it. I remember in 2013 when Troy Baker was going off with the first part and also Bioshock: Infinite, but Ashley's performance, especially near the end was so heart breaking and real. Everyone did a fantastic job, but I doubt anyone can beat Johnson for best of the year.

    Music:
Similar music to the first game, but adding in some Quayle was a very nice tough and his touch did not go unnoticed.

    Gameplay:
I think it's fair to say that gameplay was probably the criticized aspect of the original game. It was pretty basic, but it was polished and well done, and was sort of 'good enough.' For Part II, I really enjoyed the additional elements. The AI is no longer goofy, and is much more dynamic. The addition of dogs to track you, mixing in infected and human enemies was a great holdover from Left Behind. Ellie is also much more agile than Joel, meaning that she can use her environment to her advantage, including going prone, jumping on structures, and moving between broken walls. This allows each encounter to feel unique to on another and for experimentation. I definitely feel Part II is much stronger with gameplay elements than the original game.

Overall, The Last of Us is about challenge. Not just with the gameplay, but with the emotional and mental aspects. What you believe should happen is seldom going to happen. These stories are about the characters, their trauma, and how they deal with them. There's never anything easy about that. Because of this, and in spite of my perfect score, it's not a game I would recommend every single person. There's a headspace you have to be ready to be a part of, and if you want a fun experience in a post-apocalyptic world, well you're only going to get half of that. And for some, that's going to be a problem. Some people want escapism and fun for their games, but for those who want to be challenged narratively and experience some tough themes, I highly recommend to ignore the hate and give it a shot for yourself, you might be very surprised.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It is a good game based on gameplay and setting no doubt about it. The problem I have with it is the characters feeling bland. Biggest let down about the game is FORCING us to play as Abby when we really don't want to. I get that we are supposed to get an open mind about other peoples situations and what not. But when it starts of with her brutally torturing and murder Joel right in front of Ellie I really don't care about her past and reasons. All I wanted to do throughout the entire Abby part was to just let her die. The replay value of the game sinks to rock bottom when you know you have to spend hours playing as a character you despise.

Don't get me wrong, the game-play with her and her story in general is superb but when you truly hate the character it feels awful playing with her. Had the game been structured differently it could truly have been a masterpiece like the first game but as it stands now, just no. Anyone giving this 10/10 can't possibly have played the first game or they have been payed to rate it...

Also, there’s a kind of “forced philosophical sense” guiding the whole story. A meaningless death written just to make big impact and generate controversy. What about having to play the killer? Makes no sense after all we lived back in 2013. I was unable to create empathy at any time, I just felt more disgusted ‘bout herself ‘n her allies. Lots of hours playing as Abby... It’s boring. I also think that Druckmann tried to work out feminist guidelines, but it got even worse. A pregnant woman who jumps off buildings and scaffolding, climbs stairs. Hilarious. Humanly impossible. Lots of unnecessary mental subjects to a game that aims to be entertainment. Anything about it is cool. Maybe the gameplay and the graphics, but, what about the most expected story? They ruined it, made the fans hate and feel bad about all the nonsense. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. To the people genuinely looking for a real review of the game, please don't take the people who leave 0/10 reviews seriously, they most likely didn't play the game and probably just watched someones play through on YouTube, and so they didn't get the same experience as someone who played it themselves.

Now for my review. Story Wise: The game was good, some parts were dreadful to play. But the story was great and I feel like if the ending made you feel some type of way then I think it did its job. I felt empty and lonely as the end of the game. Don't you think Ellie felt the same way? She's probably asking herself the same thing we asked ourselves, "now what?". The same people saying the game is trash are probably the same people who think Call Of Duty campaigns are master pieces where main character ends up fighting the main villain and crawling towards a weapon and flying away in a helicopter. This game is the truth. You didn't get the happily ever after. This is a tragic hero story, where the main character doesn't win. Not all people die a heros death. Just like Jesse was killed with no thought, it was the same way we killed Abbys dad, without a any thought, to Abby Jesse was just an NPC, he's not important.

    What the game did wrong:
1.)Owen, mans was so boring to me he was just some average guy, his voice was monotone and his dialogue was pretty dry.
2.) I feel a lot of people felt the same way, when Abby pulled up to the theater with her gun drawn at Ellie and there was mad suspense in the air only to cut 4 years ago and have us playing as Abby. They made it super obvious what they were doing and a lot of people noticed it too and that got me tight, they were trying to make us feel sorry for Abby or look at it from her shoes, but to be honest they placed that part of the game at a point where nobody cares about Abbys sad back story. It wouldn't have been a problem had they probably done that flashback earlier in the game. Also they dragged Abbys part of the game way too long it killed the suspense and it didn't make me want to play more, I sometime felt like rushing through the encounters or getting off because I really didn't care about Abby. However... over time even though I know that's what they were trying to do.. I did begin to sort of kind of like Abby. BUT Fighting Ellie as Abby was torture!!! I really though I was going to kill Ellie but that was fun and brought back the suspense.
3.) I got tired of Seattle and I didn't like how we kept going to the same places back and forth even though story wise it made sense. I guess I really just liked the idea of how much we got to travel in the Last Of Us Part 1, and the different weather and seasons.

    What the game did right:
1.) Enemies. Big improvement from the first game, 3 new infected types, Stalkers, Shamblers, and the Rat King. Stalkers were my favorite infected type, they had me scared to go through a door, or turn my back, especially when I can hear them running and crawling around with my headphones on and lights turned off. Shamblers were annoying but they changed up the dynamic so they were welcomed. The Rat King, was just so appealing and terrifying to look at, it makes me wonder how many other unique infected are out there in the world. They also added Hefty humans in the game that took more damage those were cool I guess.

2.Combat. Hand to hand combat was my favorite part of the game, I loved how fluid the dodging was and cocking my fist back and knocking a runner out. THE EXPLOSIVES SO SATISFYING. I loved how the enemies would just disintegrate and turn to pink mist when blown up instead of just rag dolling a full body in the air as if they were jumping on a trampoline. I loved how if you shot a clicker with a shotgun in its legs they would become handicapped and you could easily shoot them in head. Same goes for most enemies if you shoot at their arms, legs, or head, chunks or entire limbs would get blown off.

    3. Graphics/Art , Level design . Of course beautiful, some of the most aesthetically pleasing parts in the game were in Jackson I loved the snow and lodges, and Eugenes secret weed farm, and when there was a massive horde chasing us. The Sky Bridge very atmospheric and creative. The island when the whole place was up in flames it really felt chaotic. Ellies Farm I loved how tranquil it felt despite the sadness and anger that dwelled in Ellies head. Santa Barbra, just cause it felt like a whole new game and the filter was vivd and warm compared to Seattles grey filter. I loved how Ellie was about it, she had the bloody white tank top on, she was coming to play no games, especially the cutscene when she encounters the rattlers and she messes both of them up, and she's holding the SMG looking badass. The ending where theirs nothing but fog and water... beautiful really felt like the edge of the world, fitting for the final fight.

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
