    A nearly perfect game in every way. From start to finish, the gameplay and story kept me completely sucked in. On top of that the world you are placed in is incredible and immersive.

    I am 41 years old and playing games for years now. For the first time in my life I felt every emotion by playing a game. I found the script very bold and dashing. People who do their job with real passoin do not have to think about everyones happiness and satisfaction. Because that is the easiest way to make people love you.     Amazing life experience. It's probably the most realistic game I have ever play, a grim reality. Were people are humans and commit mistakes that they regret by time. It's not the tipical Hollywood plot where heroes are good and villians bad and the hero always wins and does the right thig. That is why all the hait, many gamers are not use to this tipe of stories.

    The Last of us Part 2 pushed the industry in a new direction. The amount of emotions I felt playing the game was something I never felt before and for that alone I recommend the purchase of the game. The graphics are amazing and gameplay is similar to The last of us 1 however everything is turned up to a new level.

    This is an absolutely incredible game. The haters can hate all they want. I do understand why people would not like a game like this game. To play half the game as the person Ellie is supposed to kill is difficult. But the conflict which I experienced inside my own mind was nothing like anything I have experienced. I think this sets up part 3 beautifully.

    I must congratulate Naughty Dog on it. In terms of how it looks it's fantastic. On how it plays, it's.. iffy. On the Storyline........... wow, I just dont understand what you were thinking.

    So, let me explain Character in Story.

    In the original, we have an Anti-Hero. Joel defines this by being the hero of our story but by being pretty much amoral... that's to say he clearly believes whatever he does is right, screw everything else. Secondly, we have his Sidekick and/or the secondary character, Ellie. It's our hero's job to protect her. So, what we psychologically learn from this is that we care ABOUT Joel, we care FOR Ellie.

    Now, I'm not launching into some anti-feminist/trans/woke (delete as appropriate) rant here, but the problem is you've given us a lead character that we care FOR. I, as a fan of Naughty dog for many many years now, was fully aware that this game was to be played as Ellie, and that was fine because I enjoyed Left Behind (oh, to the weirdos who didnt know Ellie was gay.... play more games/do your research). However, I need more from a hero in a Story than "oh, you were the person I looked after in the last one". So why should I give a **** about Ellie? Because I'm supposed to? Yeah, not how it works. Perhaps this game should have been the next one, because all the flashback stuff suggests you could have built an entire game with Joel and Ellie where it becomes more comfrotable to play with Ellie and show that she is now fully self reliant..... but no. Here we are, the girl can now stealth her way though 99% of the game (a mechanic that makes zero sense but w/e), well thats just fantastic. Thing is, everybody loved Ellie in the original, but we all knew she needed Joel, and that's what we were there for. What you have created here is a Rey Skywalker level Mary Sue.

    So is the idea "hey, they care about Joel, lets kill him and then the player will want revenge, and they'll definitely want to get it as Ellie"? Well, F that. The only character to logically put you in control of is Tommy, but no, Mary Sue to the rescue.

    Anyway, the other lead. Yeah, she killed Joel, aka THE ONLY CHARACTER WE ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT. So why in gods name should we care? The guilt trip of "oh, Joel killed her father"........ please, please, please understand this: The Character we care ABOUT did everything to protect the character we care FOR. So we (the player, the Joels) do not care who we killed or if they had children, it did not and does not matter to us, Ellie matters. These consequences are nothing to us, so it's no wonder people hated Abby from the get go. Regardless of her image and so on, whatever she looked like, we would not like her because, oh, *Spoiler Alert* she killed Joel.

    Also, Abby's whole story is boring. Like.... chick flick boring, like aunt Patty and Selma's holiday slideshow boring, like the Giant machine that dug the Mont Blanc tunnel: BORING. All just sideways angst. And then there's the..... ummm, "sex scene?" (Could only have been more hideously uncomfortable if Owen spat on his fingers to lube up). You guys know kids play video games right? And parents buy kids video games and dont care what they are right? And hugely popular games are always wanted by kids? And zombie killing games are wanted by kids? All these small children, exposed to that? I'll just say it: "Naughty Dog, Bad Dog, Bad Bad Dog".

    The Scars were stupid, pointless and designed to be in the way (hey, just put zombies in the way, we'll care more)

    The Rat King was cool, but the battle was exhaustingly repetitive.

    Aaand finally. Don't make people kill dogs. Just don't. It's unwanted. Zombie dog? Sure. Healthy dog? No thanks.

    Take it as a lesson learned. Bring back Joel. That lovely window of time between his daughter dying and the Boston QZ is ripe for some zombie killing and army man murdering. A rampage of bittersweet joy. Oh. Hope. Hope is a whore.    … Expand

The story telling and pacing is bad though, introducing a bunch of characters the player just doesn't care about and then forcing the player to play as a character they want dead.     1) story is HORRIBLE absolutely HORRIBLE. 2) playing as Abby sucked the story right out of me I honestly wanted to stop playing at first I wasn’t as excited anymore so Naughty Dog thought they had a good idea but it was a terrible idea to make half the game about a character who killed one of my all time fave characters. 3) way too many cut scenes WAY TOO MANY. 4) sex in a game was a nice touch if the girl didn’t look like Sylvester Stallone.     … Expand

    A masterpiece of charter development, storytelling and gaming experience. I am in awe of the bravery of the developers to produce something so confronting and different, I loved every second even when I felt frustrated and challenged. I never felt empathetic during my time playing as abby, but i still thought the ending was phenomenal. If ellie were to kill abby she would have been no better than abby was. Lev would feel the same thing ellie did when joel died. Truly the best narrative ever in a game… Expand

    Die Story ist einfach Schlecht, Charaktere sind Langweilig und das Ende ist nicht befriedigend. Man könnte glauben das dieses Game unmöglich von Naughty Dog sein kann. Al poco tiempo de iniciar el juego, este se volvió tedioso y aburrido, el tiempo solo se alargaba y el final se veía más lejano, por eso, o terminas jugando por hacer valer tu dinero o eliminandolo.
    Sobre la jugabilidad, es la misma que en el primer juego, con un par de novedades insignificantes como el uso de las cuerdas, el uso del caballo en unas partes del juego o el uso de la guitarra.
    Sobre la banda sonora, el juego brilla por su ausencia, se escuda ridículamente en Future Days de Pearl Jam (que suena como 3 veces en el juego) y Take On Me de a-ha. Por ahí se logra distinguir un par de veces una canción similar al del anterior juego, pero en cortos lapsos de tiempo.
    Sobre la historia, fue pésimamente ejecutada, al inicio la historia se basa en muchas casualidades, tantas que pierde realismo o, al menos, credibilidad. Ocurre que JUSTO Joel hace esto y JUSTO tal persona lo encuentra y JUSTO luego ocurre tal cosa y ahi JUSTO Ellie se hallaba por ahí. Además de que los personajes pierden su esencia, Tommy y Joel de ser expertos contrabandistas y sobrevivientes, se reducen a ingenuos e inocentes, lo que produce que terminen (inconcientemente) en la boca del lobo. Además que, al parecer, según el juego, solo hay un Joel en el mundo. Ya que, los hechos se dan luego de que Abby escucha el nombre Joel, sin considerar que podría ser otro. Luego, está la villanía de Ellie y la imposición de Abby al jugador, y es que ND convirtió a una joven aparentemente lista y calculadora en alguien realmente estúpida (cegada por la ira y el capricho), inoportuna y sin sentido para construir y desarrollar a una nueva (Abby) que, habiendolo perdido todo, es más valiente, por momentos más humana y que tiene un futuro más allá de la venganza. Todo esto demostrado (forzadamente) en los hechos del juego, como cuando Ellie pierde el control de las situaciones, simplemente por estupidez, las cuales terminan en las innecesarias y crueles muertes de Owen y la embarazada Mel en el acuario y en el pequeño (y fallido) escape de Norah en el hospital. Sin embargo, demuestran con otras escenas que Abby es más humana, "buena" e inteligente como en las escenas con los perros, cuando deja vivir por segunda vez a Ellie, a pesar de su enojo, y cuando se desvía de sus labores para ayudar a Lev y Yara. Por otro lado, se observa un innecesario énfasis en las orientaciones sexuales de los personajes como en las escenas entre Dina y Ellie y algunos diálogos con Lev (Alice). Esto puede resultar insultante para un jugador conservador o religioso, ya que, o estás totalmente de acuerdo con el colectivo LGTBQ o recibirás un escupitajo descarado por parte de ND con este juego.
    Finalmente, el juego cierra de la manera más absurda posible, retomando forzosamente la venganza de Ellie, lo cual era necesario ya que de otra forma el juego no tendría desenlace. Para que, nuevamente, JUSTO al final Ellie tome un poco de consciencia, decida romper el ciclo de venganza y deje ir a Abby, habiendo destrozado ya su mundo. Quedan Abby como un personaje redimido y con futuro y Ellie como un personaje en decadencia y fracasado, de manera que ND destruyó a su personaje principal.
    En resumen, es un juego incompleto con partes absurdas, demasiado forzadas e incoherentes. ND se burló de su público, con los trailers engañosos, la inserción forzosa de Abby, los comentarios soberbios de Neil Druckmann y los reviews engañosos de la mayoría de revistas y críticos. En conclusión, el juego traiciona a la anterior entrega y a la base de su éxito y muchos jugadores caen, inexplicablemente, ante el hype que levanto el juego antes de su lanzamiento. No merece el GOTY ni los puntajes perfectos, habiendo juegos más esenciales que este prescindible.    … Expand

    Its sad that people who didn't even play the game put on a rating and ruin the chance that others will even try it out. Also the game itself IS NOT BAD there are just a lot of unsatisfactual events that happen, its a rollercoaster of emotions and sometimes it makes you feel like sh** but the game itself is amazing so DO NOT trust the ratings, try it out for yourself you will not regret it

    One of the best Game I have ever played! The story wat an absolute Rollercoaster. The gameplay felt like part 1 but more smooth. Confrontations were less predictabel and more exciting. I really REALLY don't understand the so called fans who dare to rate this absolute Masterpiece with an 0(???).

    The game itself is great. The overall gameplay, audiovisual is the best in 2020. There are amazing details which you won't find in other games (for example NPC's got names and when you kill somebody, they will search for him and call his name) ,The storytelling (and story itself) could have been better tho. The biggest divide comes down to the writing. TLOU 2 is a very different story than the first game, and many people say (quite accurately) that a sequel didn't need to happen. It is non-linear and follows multiple timelines that intersect. It is a story about grief, and about finding peace and meaning in life. I can only say approach the game with an open mind, and take breaks to process some of the bigger parts of the story. This game takes risks and tells an amazing story.… Expand

    -Game play, is 10/10 it can be very challenging, however it is very satisfying
    -Graphics, 10/10 graphically it is very well designed
    -Story, maybe 8/10 it is very emotional and brutal, you can feel how sick people can be and how no one is a hero
    -length, 10/10 although i wanted more game play hours but it is lengthy and very engaging most of the time
    -Horror 10/10 it is way more horrifying than the original and now you actually feel how terrifying it can be to live in such a world
    -narrative design 10/10 it is very brave in its narrative, it doesn't care about your feelings at all

I liked that I was able to play through the aftermath of what occurred in the first game. See how Ellie reacted when she found out what Joel did and how he lied. It was such a good revenge story for both Ellie and Abby. Surprisingly I gained a bit of sympathy for what occurred to Abby and enjoyed seeing her side of the story. One of my favorite parts of the game was the fight between Abby and Ellie in the theater. It was cool that you were playing as the antagonist instead of the protagonist while fighting against the main "good" guy. The story overall was fantastic as we saw development on both sides. Ellie gained a more brutal personality as the game went on as Abby gained more compassion. The parallel between Abby and Ellie were very pronounced. The last thing I want to touch on is the fact of how diverse the game is with there being a lesbian couple that wasn't over sexualized and the topic of transphobia was shown with what happened to Lev. The POV switch worked very well and made me develop so much empathy for Abby. Gameplay was smooth and fun, and environments were beautiful. I'm so glad to have LGBT representation in mainstream games. Great balance of story,Phenomenal game, really gets in your head and makes you uncomfortable.     They get a 1 because the graphics and game play were good. BUT THE STORY IS TERRIBLE!!! I was a huge fan of part 1 but Part 2 is embarrassing, I will probably not purchase Part 3 if it is ever developed. It just shows that the critics are out of touch with the general public.

Naughty Dog polished an already polished jewel and made yet another masterpiece with part 2. I was hooked from the start and throughout my 35+ hour playtime and my tears were running down my cheek when the credits rolled. There's a part of me that feel they could've given more screen time with Joel and Ellie to shine together before killing off Joel and also playing as Abby in the theater didn't resonate with me that much. But I get why they did it and what they're trying to tell us and I applaud Naughty Dog for having the confidence to make such a bold and beautiful sequal to a game that didn't need one. There's nothing out there that can compete with Naughty Dog both visually and in storytelling. Yes, I can see why this is a divisive game but it's a game still worth having played.… Expand

    I am about 70% into the game and I absolutely love it. The story feels real and dark, in-line with post apocalyptic world. The story is the continuation of part 1. To be honest, I'm not sure which one I like better, they are maybe on a par for me. As far as graphics, gameplay, mechanics - part 2 is awesome. Fantastic job Naughty Dog!     Update: now that I finished this game, it's a solid 9/10 for me. Fantastic story, although it's sad, emotionally deep, and complex. I loved the gameplay and environment. Will replay it for sure.    … Expand

    Would've been perfect if it wasn't for the lazy writing in some parts but overall it's really good sequel and surpass the first in everything except the writing

    Absolutely horrible, of course sites like IGN would rate it a 10/10 the guy that reviewed literally looks like a liberal. Hopefully game developers in the future will learn not to to put this leftist political movement in games.

    This isn't entertainment so much as it is propaganda. The developer leveraged the goodwill generated by the first game to push a woke political agenda, packaged within a trite message about violence which would seem shallow to a young child, let alone thinking adults. It also subverts the classic first game's powerfully ambivalent message about what we are prepared to do for our families.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is the most disappointing game I have ever played. Never did I think the studio behind Uncharted 2, my favorite game of all time, would create this.

    Don't get me wrong, the gameplay and graphics are fine, I also don't have a problem with Ellie and her girlfriend, but it's the story that got people to buy TLOU 1. If you're announcing a sequel to that, the story better be good. But instead, we got this. This absolute trainwreck of a story. I honestly thought the leaks weren't true, but they were. Joel actually gets his head caved in by Abby. Although she is not trans, she is just a girl. But then later ND paints Abby as a good person after this. We are forced to play as her multiple times and Niel Druckmann himself mocaps a character named Owen and spits on Joel's corpse after he dies. Owen also has sex with Abby in a later scene, which is one of the most disturbing scenes in all of media. They basically were saying, ''We made you wait 7 years to see the continuation of Joel's story only to kill him in the first 2 hours.''

    What's even worse is that Ellie goes on and on about revenge and kills every single one of Abby's comrades, hell even mauls dogs with naily clubs, but spares Abby because ''revenge is wrong''. She killed pregnant women, mauled dogs to death, murdered God knows how many seraphites and kills everyone related to Joel's death, but not the killer. She, even after getting her fingers bitten off by Abby, decided to spare her, when Ellie could drown her.

    And yes, they are setting up a sequel with Abby as the protag.

    The few Joel and Ellie scenes in this game are the best part about it. Especially the birthday scene. But the way Joel was killed off pisses me off. I would have been fine with him going out like John Marston or old man Logan, instead he got killed like an insect. This game is a slap in the face for not just TLOU, but Naughty Dog in general.    … Expand

    Naughty dog and specially Neil druckman ruined such a series and the people who are syaing that game is good go please check a psychiatric first as they need serious attention. most of us can't call a game bad because it tarnishes the value of a brand

    reasons are as follows that this game is awful
    1) forced to play with abby
    2) joel deaths is like a side character
    3) killer is forgiven in the end if it is not for revenge then why took game so long add a system like farcry if you want to end it now or want to go through everything
    4) just hate how a political agenda inserted into a game
    5) most hated character abby and turning of ellie into villian in the half gameplay
    6)story looks like was stretched out without a purpose that was needed to be fulfilled
    7) completely shatters the foundation of the first game...
    8) they shattered every love for the game
    9) Bribed gaming websites to give fake reviews

    for a person who played first game will feel Disappointed as this game is just a no buy if i could i would give ratings in minus whereas most people are saying it was like Red dead redemption 2 let me tell you one thing arthurs sacrifice was respectable as in terms of joel they made him look like a side character    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
