This is why we need critics. It seems like an outdated thing to have, until a group of you morons decides to get butt hurt over decisions that the developers made (If it were up to you both games would likely have been awful). This was, in my opinion, a masterpiece and a brilliant next step in the Last of Us 2 saga. I can only hope that they do an equally amazing job on Last of Us 3.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

This game might be the biggest disappointment of this generation. Although graphics and sounds are good, the story is terrible. All new characters are annoying and hateable. They are a pain in the ass and you never ever root for them or get attached to them. The story is very bad and the pacing sucks. This is not good enough for a story driven game. Technically perfect game, almost perfect gameplay, over the top graphics and facial expfessions. Regarding the story it’s definitely something different from the original, it may not be your cup of tea but it’s an incredibly daring gamble that in my opinion pays off almost completely. Some parts feel too dragged for story reason and the pacing in the second half it’s quite bad.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game is indeed a masterpiece, it takes some heavy decisions in the story and makes you feel a range of emotions till the end.

After going through countless reviews and reaction videos, I found 3 main things gamers hated the most

    1) Joel’s death
    2) Playing as abby
    3) Abby lives

Let’s see the story from a mature perspective rather than as fanboys.

Abby is full of hate, she had only one goal to take revenge from her father's killer.

Ellie goes down the same path, she had only goal taking revenge from Joel's (father figure) killer.

The story shows you both sides of the coin, and questions you who's revenge matters? Is eye for an eye, a solution? Who is right & who is wrong?

If Ellie kills Abby, would the cycle of vengeance stop? Wouldn't Lev come behind Ellie later for killing Abby who is now like sister to him? The most important would Joel would have wanted his "Kiddo" to devote her life for vengeance?

You start seeing Joel in Abby when you play her story, you see how she kills her own people to save Lev, something that Joel does for Ellie.

What vengeance brings to Ellie? She ends up alone at the end.

She goes to Santa Barbara thinking that killing Abby would bring her peace, and just when Abby was about to die at the hands of Ellie, she remembers Joel looking at her, she understands he would never have wanted this from her.

Abby lost her father, went on a path of vengeance, all her friends died too.

Ellie lost Joel, went on a path of vengeance, lost friends, her love, her fingers too, she now can't play that guitar which Joel always wanted her to play.

If you see the story from a fanboy's perspective you will definitely not care about the deep emotions and notions the game is challenging.

The ending flashback scene will definitely tear you apart. Ellie - I'll see you around.
    Joel - Yep

It's a very rare game, we don't get games like these very often, cherish it. I hope more people give positive ratings/reviews. It hurts to see such low score for a masterpiece like this.

I seriously wish it becomes Game of the Year.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let start with the positives. Props to the animation and art team for doing a great job enhancing the game to groundbreaking quality. The rope physics are amazing. Second, gameplay is a definite step-up from the last game but not by much. I love the little map you pull out. I also like that dogs can sniff you out and that enemies are more human. It's way more brutal, and the gore porn would've been justified if empathy was a central theme, but it isn't. Still, it's impressive that you can choose how you want to torture/kill your enemies. Music really had its moments during Joel and Ellie flashbacks. Otherwise, it's forgettable.
Now for bad: the plot and message of revenge wasn't bad; they just really should've executed it better. I don't mind if characters die; as long as they get deserving deaths that respect their legacy, it can be a great thing. But no, the dev had to spit on Joel (which he actually does in the game) by making him dumb for plot convenience, torturing him slow in front of his brother and daughter, and while she screams for it to stop, kill him, and let Ellie and Tommy live. This is within the first 2 hours of the game. I don't know what else could be as malicious to fans as that. And who cares about the cure anymore; let's make it a revenge story that isn't satisfying. Forgive the killer who slow tortured your dad in front of you. it's not that the revenge trope is bad. This game just fails at it. You're supposed to empathize with Abby but she's not worth the forgiveness. Oh you feel bad about two kids you left behind? Tell that to the thousands of orphans you've made from killing Scars. Tell that to a father you slowly tortured and killed in front of his daughter and brother. Oh you gave Ellie a chance and she wasted it? You had a chance and wasted it. At least Joel made it quick for your dad, a single shot to the head. You decide to take it so much further, even after he saves your life. She kills without thinking and gets her friends killed and/or traumatized. Not to mention, she had sex with her friend's husband who is pregnant with their child. Let's also not forget the game forces you to play this ungrateful brat for the last half and forces you to fight Ellie. I still wish she died but no, the game doesn't let you kill her and here's the best part: I feel just as much animosity toward Ellie. Wtf happened to her character from the first game? She hates violence; she's empathetic; she was the light in the darkness for me AND Joel. Now, she's a sociopathic monster. She's like "oh god, I tortured someone!" when first, you would've never done that and second, you literally are committing a genocide along the way. Does WOLF soldier #237's life matter? Y'know, the one you set on fire? Or maybe the one you shot the leg off of who screamed until they bled out and died? This violence is bad agenda just doesn't work in this world. If you really wanted me to feel bad for the people I'm killing, don't force me to kill them! It's not effective to be all like "oh you took all these lives. You're the monster," when the game didn't give me a choice.
The political agenda is also just so pandering. As a bisexual female myself, I love that Ellie is lesbian and it felt natural in the DLC. I just wish they made her and Dina that natural. Their chemistry is a one night stand. Wasn't Dina really flirty? Why would she suddenly want to settle? Because Ellie needs a gf for the plot. And not only is she unrelatable, but she's an idiot too. Don't have sex without protection. If you do, expect you'll get pregnant and don't come along on a journey. Now, she's a dead weight, and there's also some stupid message about "pregnant women can fight too" with Dina and Mel. There's a reason pregnant women aren't allowed to fight: it's so idiots like these two won't hurt their baby. They're trying to be strong and independent, but you're just being irresponsible. Let's also not forget the tragic story of all the male characters killed off for "plot convenience" AKA make the world women-only: Joel, Manny, Owen, but the worst was definitely Jesse. He knocked up Dina, and they kill him without any mourning. It just feels like "No strings attached now! You can be the father Ellie!" That really soured the farm part for me, although it was really cute. And I liked Jesse a lot. He had better sense than anybody and was merely a victim of a love triangle with two stupid people. The exact situation can be applied to Yara's death too. Congratz, you have a pet Lev, Abby. Your dream came true! As a bisexual female, the only LGBTQ+ representation I will take is Lev. All the other female leads are either killing machines and/or irresponsible biggots.

The only reason my rating is so high is because artists, animators, and gameplay designers obviously put their all into it. They shouldn't be discounted because the story was so god-awfully done. Good job guys, and writers, the LGBTQ+ community isn't that easy to suck up to.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Having only played part 1 of this franchise about 3 years ago, i did not have to wait as long as a lot of other fans. Those 3 years were filled with pure excitement, anticipation and, of course, impatience. I absolutely loved part 1. It nestled its way close to my heart, and part 2 is no different. I put almost 32 hours into this game and I loved every single second of it. The story was nothing I could have ever expected. When they revealed that the doctor Joel had killed, was Abby's father I audibly gasped. I have smiled and shed tears throughout the whole game. Happiness and sadness were both prominent. Not to mention relief. I absolutely hated Ellie for leaving the farm, for leaving the seemingly perfect life she had with Dina and JJ, but I knew she had to go after Abby again. I felt it coming but still hated it. The Ellie boss fight was one of the hardest battles I had ever had to fight, or so I thought. The final fight against Abby certainly takes that spot. I cannot describe how desperate I was for Ellie to stop fighting. Every punch she landed made me sick to my stomach. I didn't want her to kill Abby so I just kept making her dodge Abby's punches, hoping the game would somehow sense that she, that I, didn't want any of this happening. Relief coursed through my body when Ellie stopped, realising that killing Abby would amount to an even greater loss. In the end, letting Abby live was what Ellie needed the most, which we can conclude when looking at Ellie's journal when she visits the farm again. This was one hell of a game and I applaud anyone involved in the making of it. No game, or any other type of media, is ever perfect but this game comes incredibly close. Here's to more games like this, and maybe a part 3 someday, please? Expand

Now the story: I don’t even understand what the controversy is? This game has one of the most emotionally gripping, expertly executed, character driven narratives I have ever witnessed. The story in this game is better than the story in most movies. Without spoiling anything, every story best is spectacular and people are just upset because either they wanted an easy to swallow fan service story or they are complaining because characters dare to not all be white straight men. God forbid diversity exists after the apocalypse.

This game suffers from some serious pacing issues being over 20 hours long and having serval narrative stops that drain all the momentum HOWEVER the game is so strong combat and character building wise that Im still inclined to rate it highly. It is nt as got as the first (though what sequel is?) but it still really enjoyed it and found myself attached to most of the characters. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I adored the first game, it was one of the first games I’d played outside of the platformer/racing genre and certainly the first survival horror – I hated zombies. But the first one just drew me in and made me love it, in large part due to the relationship between Joel and Ellie but mostly Ellie’s character, I just loved her. First of all, the graphics, the atmosphere, the immersiveness were 10/10 for me. I was on the edge of my seat so many times, heart racing, holding my breath, I yelled at my OH a few times for making noise in case the clickers heard me. The soundtrack, ramping up the volume as I got closer to combat, the noise when I could be seen by an enemy, the first whistle by the Seraphites - all just added to the fear, the panic and experience. I got so into it. The gameplay for me was a step up from the first one, it was cleaner, it was more imaginative – I enjoyed the new actions such as going prone and climbing ropes – blatantly lifted from Uncharted, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I did miss the controller sounds – both when shaking the flashlight and the clickers – the sound of the clickers through the controller in Pt1 put the fear of god in me like nothing else ever did. I went in blind to the story, I had no idea about what was going to happen. I knew opinions were divided, and I was nervous because I wanted to love it, I really did. I didn’t know who Dina was and it took me so long to like her. TBH Jesse barely registered, and maybe it says a lot about me but but I wasn't that fussed when he died. I couldn’t wait for the inevitable moment when I got to smash Abby’s head in. And then the split happened, and I hated it, I sped through her Day 1 as quickly as I could and I thought this is dragging and I knew that the bad reviews were right, and they’d ruined it and I was so annoyed, but I’d looked forward to it enough to continue going…and I fell for it hook line and sinker, I started to empathise with her, I felt like I understood her. I adored the parallels between the stories, and how her story explained part of Ellie’s – the zebra was her giraffe. The aquarium was her museum. Her relationship with Lev had echoes of Joel’s relationship with Ellie to me. The easter eggs were great – I yelled out loud when I found the Sic Parvis Magna ring in the bank. Don’t get me wrong – my loyalty will be forever with Joel and Ellie - the museum scene, and the guitar scenes, and the flashback at the end where they decide to try and rebuild their relationship ruined me and I’m tearing up even thinking about it – and if I had to choose it would be Ellie all day long. But I loved that my empathy with Abby’s character made me feel remorse for what I’d done as Ellie. Playing fetch with Alice broke my heart and I genuinely cried. I could take or leave Nora (definitely cheered when Ellie called her the C word), Owen (what a dick) and Mel (pregnant, but a **** and with issues around controlling her boyfriend) but the dogs really hurt ☹

When it got to the theatre fight I was chanting to myself “please don’t make me kill Ellie” but equally at the end fight I was “please don’t make me kill Abby”. I get why people didn’t like it. Such a brutal decision so early on is so polarising and I can totally see why people didn’t warm to Abby – as Mel put it, she was a piece of **** But forcing me to realise the consequences of Ellie’s actions and that I was just repeating what she had gone through really got to me and I really wanted them to get to that “it’s not worth it” moment. And I was glad that they did and I got an incredible experience – it was enjoyable but it was also stressful and scary (I haven’t even mentioned the rat king!) and I loved every second of it because it wasn’t the typical a-to-z teenager gets revenge for her father story (of which there are many, clearly). Overall, hats off to ND for an emotionally challenging, thought provoking, ****-my-pants-at-times experience.

Absolutely loved it. The fact that a lot of people hate it is because the game takes strong choices that can make feel the players a lot of pain. That kind of intensity is what i think makes the game so great, plus the graphics are really spectacular, it is truly a next gen looking game.

it's amazing how they managed to put these graphics on ps4 and improved the gameplay a little with the jump and the option to lie down. but the story sucks it's incredible how they managed to make something like this pass, for the love of god, this story is worth nothing unlike the first

I hated the story and the writers as much as everyone, of course i didn't want Joel being killed by some ma'am, but as the game goes on you realised that it is masterfully crafted, like, i really hated abby, but you can't avoid to feel some kind of empathy for her. I love this game cause it was brave and it did things that could have gone awful, but it worked so ewell that now i even like Abby, my man's killer.

I'm sure that almost everyone who disliked this game, didn't even played it, like, i get it, maybe some people didn't get to connect with abby, but c'mon, it's a good game and it can't fail so bad when it is that great.
And c'mon, don't disrespect my man Neil, he write the first one, at least save your words for him just because of your love to the first game

It has controversial scenes that make the player feel disgusted and angry. In other parts like in the flashbacks, it makes you feel joyful. Its a brutal game and having these flashbacks is nice to be able to breathe. This is a story that you’re not supposed to like because of the way it makes you feel and the choices you make. But it’s definitely a great game. Yes, people are attached to Joel are quite passionate and they feel his death was disrespectful. The manner in which he was killed does not determine bad writing. The way he was killed was supposed to make the player feel angry, disgusted, and emotional. In the world of the last of us, there are no villains or heroes. People die in tragic ways and it's not something anyone deserves. It was the artist's intent to make the player feel that way. I understand people want their characters to die in a heroic way but this is not one of those games. The game is a roller coaster of emotions and there will be people who appreciate the game more than others. That’s how life is. The gameplay is phenomenal and I recommend players to play it on "survivor" because it makes the game brutal and difficult. The graphics are gorgeous and I played it on my 4k tv and I was immersed in the scenery. The music by Gustavo is masterful! I have the 3d audio headphones and my experience was amazing. One of my biggest flaws is pacing after the first half. I felt detached from the experience a little. I recommend taking breaks because the game is long. It took me 29hrs to beat this game and I found many interesting moments that many players could miss if you do not explore. Overall, to me, it wasn't a story about revenge. It was about forgiveness and loss. Joel dies early in the game but the game is still about him. Whether you hate or love the game you cannot deny how it made you feel. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

There are criticisms that can be levelled at it because nothing is literally perfect. But, in terms of showcasing the extent of what art can do to a person, I honestly believe this game to be the pinnacle of it. It's divisive because it will force you to feel. A lot of people don't want to be forced to have an emotional reaction to something. That being said, I don't rate this game a 10 out of 10 because of the feelings it gave me, I rate it a 10 out of 10 due to its ability to give them to me to begin with. No piece of media has ever made me cry with joy, made me sick to my stomach, made me feel love or hatred the way this game has. I was able to go into this game blind, and it was the most profoundly impactful experience I've ever had ingesting a piece of content, of any medium. Please, don't let it be spoiled for you. People are upset about this game because it WILL upset you. They're angry at the game because it WILL make you angry. But the purpose of this game is to reflect on the way that a person processes these feelings. If that isn't of interest to you, by all means, go and play anything else. This game requires bravery to face having to work through these feelings, but doing so is unbelievably rewarding. You're free to hate what you want, but this is a piece of work that many people have bled for, and it is deserving of your time. It isn't deserving of watching a YouTube run through, it isn't deserving of reading a synopsis on Wikipedia. If you can play this game, you really should, because bravery in this industry needs to be commended and, wow, The Last of Us Part II is brave; and incredible, and fun, and beautiful. It's everything that makes a great game, and it's backed by the most profoundly told story I've ever seen in Western media. This game deserves your time and your money. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I think the fair rating for The Last Of Us 2 is 7 points. Since the plot really disappointed me, well, he doesn’t get to the right level of Naughty Dog. They can do better and we know that, we believe in them and will believe. Why score 7 points out of 10? 1. Graphics - this is not earthly delight for the eyes, I give it 9 out of 10. 2. The development of details, and very small details ... it's something wonderful, it's nice to look at it, the Naughty Dog team really tried and it shows, they are cool guys . I will put 10 out of 10 to this aspect. 3. Living characters. All characters of the game are living, and individuals, with their problems, experiences, characters and desires. You are not indifferent to anyone. This aspect deserves 10/10. 4. Game mechanics. This part of the game is also worked out beautifully, but there are some bugs, but everything is fixable. The most enjoyable mechanic for me is crafting items and playing the guitar. This aspect gets 8 points out of 10. 5. The plot. This is the most painful and weak point of the game, the loss of Joel ... Ellie did not take revenge on her father’s killer, but released her. Okay, let's say and imagine Ellie got what she wanted, killed Abby. I returned to my girlfriend Dina and her little son, and found that she was not at home and Dina disappeared with the baby, and here we would have penetrated Ally more than what happened in the original, because Ally had a family and love of her life, but her one act of revenge - erased all that was ... Ally is empty. Here we would have been more impressed with the character, but ... unfortunately, everything happened differently. Therefore, on this site such an assessment, it seems to me. But, in general, the game crumpled like so much ... that I do not perceive this work as a game, I perceive The Last Of Us more than a game - it is a whole story and life - the life of Ally and her adoptive father Joel. Game 7/10. This assessment will be fair. Expand

This game is honestly something we didn’t want but that we needed , it does things that many games don’t even attempt because it gets reactions like this one had. Story wise , this is one of the finest stories and more impactful in either a Negative or Positive way, for me it was a positive one but it was not an immediate reaction , I wasn’t sure how I felt , I felt hopeless after the game , but the more I analyze it, the better it gets. My complaints are simple, unlike able characters , weak dialogue at times , and forced themes throughout with ideas that the story could work without them anyways. A lot of people see this as a bad thing , but I just think they weren’t necessarily needed for the story. I am absolutely amazed by the game's graphic, sound, battle system, art style, map design, enemy AI. And also the new method of story telling that challenges what made the 1st game great, some people may hate the game for it, but to me it is actually the best part of the game.

While I love the game, i will admit it is not perfect. I did notice some elements through out the gameplay that I instantly knew will displease some players (myself included), but the amount of hate towards the game was not expected at all.
But again, some of the things that people disliked did not even occur to me during the gameplay.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. “if i ever were to lose you, i’d surely lose myself” — a masterpiece, and an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish. i was skeptical about the story when i saw the leaks, but they do not do this game justice. it may be set in the backdrop of a zombie apocalypse but this is at it’s core a game about loss, revenge, redemption and coping. joel’s death is brutal, but it is necessary. not everyone gets a hero’s death, especially when they aren’t really a hero. it is a testament to the skill of the writers that within the first 10 minutes of learning the story of joel’s killer, i immediately sympathised with her, and loved her by the end. this game tells the story of two women who have lost or pushed away everything they held dear — yet, neither of them is right or wrong, good or bad. they are both consumed by revenge, which slowly chips away at their humanity. what makes this worthwhile is the moments where their eroding humanity still shines through - ellie’s relationships with dina, jj, and jesse and abby’s relationships with yara, lev and owen. the lengths their hatred makes them go to in their respective paths can be frustrating and heartbreaking to watch, but the conclusion it reaches at the end of its 30 hours of gameplay is haunting and beautiful. it will stick with me for a long time.

the gameplay is a big step up from the first. movement and combat is quicker and more fluid, there is a larger variety of weapons and crafting options, and there are a variety of ways to approach any combat situation. all enemies are smarter this time around, and the infected are scarier than ever. the environment of every chapter is much more varied, each accompanied with a fitting soundtrack and atmosphere to match. areas are generally larger than the first game which is good; but can be overwhelming if you’re a completionist who likes to scour every nook and cranny for supplies or collectibles. don’t miss out. this game is an essential experience for any gamer, especially those who fell in love with the world and with joel and ellie in TLOU1.

They tried to do a really heart melting story like the first The Last Of Us, which was one of the greatest games ever. In the first one, it's the story of Joel which finds Ellie and has to go through a lot of hard things. He started to like Ellie like if she was his daughter. In the end we know that Ellie is the cure from the disease and the hospital takes her away. When Joel learns this, he went to save her even though she was going to save humanity with her blood.

The second one is just cringy and feels like it is made by some liberals doing a "fan" fiction. Literally. It's been a long time that we know that Ellie is lesbian, but in TLOU2 they straight up went for sex scenes and kissing scenes that this game really doesn't need. Like I'm saying, mega cringe.

The other thing is that Joel is usually so cautious and does whatever he can to survive, for example in the first one, he never really liked the idea of surviving with strangers and all of that. Now in this piece of **** Joel just joins a random house and tells his name and that is how he dies. HOW DARE THEY DO THIS TO MY BOI JOEL. He dies because of some **** Abby which is killing him for vEnGencE. And the part that infuriates me the most is that after the cringy fight in the end of the game, Ellie doesn't even kill Abby, and why? Like I was telling they tried to do a heartwarming story like the first one but The Last Of Us 2 just gave us a cringy and generic revenge story.

Gameplay wise it is not bad, but there are not a lot of improvements, which is ok, considering that the first's one was really good. The graphics ain't bad, but I expected better. Now the glitches... The game is so **** glitchy, that is all I have to say.

In conclusion, the game is horrible : it feels like some liberals just wrote a fan fiction with their ass, it is a cringe attempt to make a good game, it has more than a horrible story and just doesn't deserve any love, it deserves only hate and I have no idea how many dollars naughty dog payed this web site to have a such high score.

PS: Thank me for the spoilers, like that you won't have to play that stupid piece of **** it is not worth your time and it will just make you lose brain cells.

I loved how your feelings for a character changes drastically throw the game, a game that shows you that there are no heroes or villains, there are no winners or losers, there are only human beings trying to survive in an hostile world, a world that shows the monstrosity but also the magnificent of the human race.

The Last of Us II game-play is very visceral and raw (the animations are insane) and the AI is the best that I have seen in years and like the previous game the art direction is astonishing and beautiful.

It took me two full weeks to make my way though the game, and let me tell you, the writing and direction of the game is unlike anything you've played before. Don't be fooled by the negative reviews. Most of the people who bomb reviewed the game didn't play it, and the rest did not get te actual point of the story.

If you a fan of films like "Se7en" or "Fallen" you will like the story very much. If you expect a good vs evil story, where the "good" guys win in the end, you will be disappointed. This is a piece of entertainment art for mature audiences, who can follow through a deeper plot than "Avengers" or "Transformers"

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'll never truly understand why people despise this game so much, but I will say that this is was one of the most thought-provoking and emotionally draining games I've ever played. The story was one of intense grittiness and overall sadness that made you think about the repercussions of revenge and hate. One thing I was always expecting was Joel's death, however, I never imagined it to be quite on the humiliating scale it was. However, killing the main character, especially like this, does not make a story bad. The vendetta and journey Ellie goes through makes you seriously question whether this is all worth it and whether Abby deserves it. At first, I was livid for making us play as Abby, however, when you see everything from her perspective you really start to wonder if you actually want her dead. This game really made me ask myself the hard questions and really try to think about Ellie's relationship with Joel and Abby's own redemption.

This game is not without flaws, however. There are times where I was frustrated with the pacing and it was just boring at times. Some characters could probably have used a little more development such as Jesse and Abby's friends. Additionally, the structure of killing Abby's friends and then later learning more about them (when playing as Abby) was not the smartest move on Druckman.

The discontentment with fans is, in my opinion, over-exaggerated and uncalled for. It is completely ok to say a game is good but also has some serious flaws. But to establish a game as absolute garbage is tribal at it's finest. I can understand the anger with a much-loved character dying, however, a main character dying does not make the story bad. If you think it does, then don't watch "No Country for Old Men" or "1917." I also know that people hate the way he died, however, this was purposeful and meant to inspire intense anger within Ellie and the audience. Additionally, people in this day and age are so blinded by their political views that they will apply their tribal mindset onto any media they consume and will accuse it of having an "agenda." People are so fixated that there is an agenda with everything that they cannot just let it go for a playthrough of the game. I've never been much for political correctness and whatnot, but never once did I think "Wow, Naughty Dog is encouraging an agenda and this is too political for me." People think the entirety of this game is an "agenda" or "doesn't care about its fans" or whatever. First, we need to realize that stories should never be created solely on fan service. A story is written by an author and we as the readers/gamers experience this story and make our interpretations. Fan service is for the toxic and tribal people who decide what an author writes through mob rule. I do not feel comfortable demanding that these creators or any creator make media for how I like it and only me. I let them make the choices and tell their story, and then I make my interpretation. I do not usually establish a story as 100% bad because that is usually never true (unless it's an extremely garbage movie/game with nothing for it but a cash grab).

This game has some annoying flaws and is far from perfect. I found this game to be excellent in some of its storytelling aspects, but questionable in some of its choices. Do not let anyone tell you how you should like a game or berate you for liking a game that they don't. Try to play the game with an open mind and try to remember that not everything in the entire world has a political agenda. This is a story about humans, and politics should be the least of your worries when playing this game. This game is very divisive and polarized when it comes to opinion, however, in actuality this game is really just in between average. But It is up to each individual on how they interpret the game, but try not to be influenced by the mob. Do not listen to me or what anyone else says, play the game and you decide for yourself if this game was worthy of a playthrough.

A masterpiece in design and story telling. Don't listen to the haters. The gameplay is familiar to the first game with many welcome changes. Very emotional experience, not without it's minor flaws. Definitely worth giving a chance.

This game is amazing graphically and game play. The story is rough and not something you’ll be readily open to confront. I think that’s what makes the game so controversial. A few forgetable characters and lengthy parts . There are many great moment sin the game.

Regardless of what people say, play this game; either now or when the price drops. The Last of Us 2 will be a long standing game of debate on whether or not it’s good; and the more people are in the conversation, the more we’ll understand the games true meaning.

Get the game now if you have disposable income and care to experience the bleeding edge of game tech, or wait until it drops to 40$ and buy it then. Either way you won’t be disappointed and won’t have missed out on experiencing first hand this wonderful work of art. Expand

One of the most stressful gaming experience of my life, yet surely the most rewarding both in terms of gameplay and emotions. To me this game represents the brightets example of authoriality in video games, but at the same time I understand the criticism, it definitely isn't a game for everybody. Really hoping for a part 3 now.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The gameplay is very similar to the first game, I enjoy it but it is a little repetitive. There were some improvements over the last game but it is still mostly sneak, strangle, hide, repeat, with a few decent shootouts included.

Unlike many people reviewing here, I really enjoyed the story. I think that the early death of Joel was a gut-wrenching moment which gave justification for Ellie's pursuit and her slide into a desperate sense of revenge. I think that the storytelling with Abby helps to show that the characters in this game are not "good" or "bad", but instead are morally grey with their own justifications for their actions. Early in the game we are made to hate Abby, but we are shown that she has justifications for her actions that very much match those of Ellie, and we see her character soften when caring for Lev, in a way that mirrors the relationship of Ellie and Joel. I think that many don't like the plot because of their affection for Joel as a character, but I didn't feel that his death was a plothole, but instead helped to drive the overall message of the game as well as showing how brutal this world is.

Overall I think it is an excellent storytelling game that is also set in a beautiful and detailed world. My criticism is only based on the lack of advancement in the gameplay.

Story 6/10 Plottwists were jawdropping. But sometimes couldn't even remember character references, because of lack of character design. Abby section is hard to follow.

I wish could love this game but I can't. The whole second half was a deception, and even if you don't like it you have to do it, there is no other choice or maybe you can stop playing the game before the second half and imagine the rest of the story.

Gran juego.

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
