    The First TLOU had a great story and characters which felt real and relatable even. Even though the game play and combat was not great, it did not matter because we loved the characters and their development and relationships. This games abandoned all that for nothing really. A real disappointment and a shame really.

    Just really, really bad. The narrative, if it can really be called that, is so jarring and unintuitive as it sucks you away from the momentum and action with poorly utilized flashbacks with no real impact or purpose. I can't say enough how disappointed I am to have waited so long for this sequel. What a shame.

    There's so much wrong with this game.

    Aside from PC, there is no story probability and the play itself is boring to force justification. It's a game for producers and critics to brainwash other gamers with the idea of having moral superiority, not for gamers.

I never review anything, but I feel like I would’ve been better off just flushing $60 down the toilet. If you’re looking for a satisfying ending, look elsewhere because this one makes no sense. Yes, you become the better man, er woman after the main villain eats your fingers and you think about guitars. You don’t want revenge after you tell the main villain you will kill her as she kills Joel in front of you. You just want to play guitar with your eight fingers. Instead they gave us an experience similar to the worst seasons of Walking Dead. They confused a dark story with a profound experience. Of this game and she is the the bad guy that kills Joel in front of elle with a golf club she is a straight up evil person you then have to play as this character for upto 8 hours naughty dog try to make you sympathise with this character that you have no investment in at all and the broke back mountain scene is forced it a game about revenge and killing everyone but in the end it also fails in doing this as elle let's the trans person abby go the BTW this game is hot trash… Expand

    Character consistency has disappeared, ending is unfulfilling and lacklustre. Same gameplay as before with some additions which is nothing special and will get stale. Beautiful graphics and score with great animation. But all in all a narrative driven game with a weak narrative really isn't that good of a game.

    The game just free kill Joel, THE character of the game for a bad revenge. Imagine have a daughter and someone tries to kill her, you just kill this someone who has a daughter too and that daughter somehow discovery the location about your brother in the middle of an apocalypse 4 years later and kills you for just save your **** daughter. The game begins with this, and keep the entire story over this, that for me, isn't a good reason, come on, Joel just killed her father because him tried to kill Ellie. Btw, there’s strange moments in the end of the game, well, how the **** Tommy is alive? Man, you have a pregnant woman that was spanked and another one woman who was spanked too and has a broken arm to take a man who got a **** shot in the head to cross kilometers in a way with elevations and holes and probably enemies, how the **** they did that? Btw again, Tommy seems that just got alive to give a trash reason to keep the game on, "I know the Abby's location, come there and kill her! Have your revenge", man... just stay died and finish this trash game and know what? She just doesn't do it in the end because of “circle of revenge” isn't cool. When some important character dies, I really hope that be worth but in this game this doesn't happened and it’s so sad, so **** sad the chat between Ellie and Joel in the end of the game a thing that makes me think that if Abby doesn’t exists the game could be so better. Ellie's reaction about the truth, actually a little piece of the truth, is so exaggerated. Really that you probably stay away from Joel for 2 year because that? You made a show with this? Wow, cool.
    Another point is, the gameplay is so repetitive, we do the same things in entire game, explore, kill some infected that aren't so much mechanics to do that, is almost the same thing ever, and the humans that doesn't make any **** difference between then.
    The soundtrack is good, but nothing memorable. The SFX are perfect, is so good with everything, I guess. When you are upgrading your guns, you can see how good the SFX is in this game.
    The Animation is another good point, without the bugs, the face reactions are really realistic, the grass and the looting animation too.
    Overall, the few good things about this game aren't worth over the bad story, and that is it.    … Expand

I see nothing but hate for having to play as Abby and people giving low scores because a beloved character was killed within hours of starting the game. That one scene should not warrant a low score! Everything about this game is phenomenal. The graphics, the music, the tension and the emotional roller coaster it took me on will never leave my mind. This story in this game kept me awake at night thinking about what is going to happen next or finding reasoning why a character did the things they did. The writers and directors clearly had a vision for this game and what transcended was an experience that not even a movie could make me feel. Seeing the story unfold from two different perspectives and seeing the two main characters juggle the same issues was awesome. Do yourself a favor and play this game and do not listen to all the crybabys badging the game! Life is not always rainbows. Bad things happen to innocent, good people everyday.     Its game has a lot of problems and the biggest problem is the first last of us. The first part has a good story, nice graphics, and interesting gameplay. I'm not a fan of is first part, but it was good and I waited for the second part and...It's this is the disappointment of the year. I believe that game is 4-5 points from 10, but the developers have created so much hatred around the game.

I certainly don't need a game designer to lecture me about social tolerance and the futility of revenge in a game that requires one's characters to kill many scores of people. While I won't spoil it, the ending is without doubt one of the most insulting and intellectually dishonest things I have seen written into a video game. So the upshot is this. If you are the kind of gamer who only cares about graphics and gameplay characteristics, this is a good game for you. But if you expect a good story in a narrative driven game, then my advice would be to give this game a hard pass.… Expand

In a failed attempt to be inclusive and preach a positive message, the game instead perpetuates the very same racist and sexist themes it is trying to demonize.

    You cannot say that your game is “inclusive” and “promotes equality” when the most “privileged” characters become the most likely to die at any given moment despite their relevance to the plot while the “least privileged” are given insane levels of plot armour and are not seen as “evil” or “flawed” no matter what they do.

    This game absolutely fails at telling a likeable or relatable story that has a valid purpose or message; which is the main purpose of most single-player games such as this in the first place...    … Expand

    I'm been a Playstation fan for a long time and i can't remember the last time I played a Playstation game and felt the anger that I do today. I'm not sure why the story choices were made and not sure why the multiplayer was removed from this game. Gameplay is better but still is lackluster. AVOID!

    El único punto flojo del juego es que dentro de las 30 horas que dura, en algunos momentos (muy pocos igualmente) pierde ritmo cuando hace que el personaje vaya de un punto A a un punto B. Esto se podría haber resumido en una cinemática (como hacía TLOU1) Sin embargo, suma por el lado de sentir que la historia día a día está ocurriendo en tiempo real.
    Es un juego que recomiendo no perderse ya que cierra la generación actual con un nivel altísimo.
    Evitar dejarse llevar por la gran cantidad de reseñas falsas / spam que hay en esta pagina, alcanza con solamente leer un buen par de las que tienen como nota de 0 a 4 y ver que son de personas que jamás probaron el juego.     I do not like propoganda in my games. Ive seen the gameplay walkthrough and this is the worst story i have ever seen in a videogame. It is a disgrace to the gaming industry and the game journalists who are rating this a 10 are a disgrace too. The gameplay might be fine but the story is so bad and disrespectful it is heartbreaking for those of us who are fans of the first game.

    last of us remastered story was a happy ending, naughtydog didn't have to ruin the whole story in part 2. naughty dog should have work in another single player story based sequel. would be great if they did that most of the fans of lou is disappointed due to the ending.

    Unfortunately, this good impression of the game is ruined by a completely worst story. Who wrote this ...? Who at Naughty Dog has approved this ...? Many character developments make no sense, especially Ellies. The dealing with the popular characters from part one, is absolutely disrespectful. Joel practically died for nothing. Ellie and most of the characters are unsympathetic awful presented. The identification-Factor with Ellie as main protagonist, is complete written out of the character. The game keeps forcing you to have sympathy for people who don't deserve sympathy. Of course, this goes wrong and is proof of the total failure of the author of the story. As a fan, of part one, i don't want to see or play something like that.

    All in all, the overall impression that the leaks had indicated has come true. The story is very bad, the most characters are written complete worst.

    Play it yourself, but don't be surprised if you're disappointed. The game is a slap in the face of every TLoU 1 fan. This example also shows how politically indoctrinated the "professional" media are. If 99% rate a game this way, it is clear that something is wrong. Such occurrences are the reason why I no longer give anything on reviews of magazines.

    The discrepancy between professional reviews and user reviews shows more than clearly how uncritical and blind the media has become.

    TLoU 2 is a game for people who have no connection to previous characters and only want to see a perfidious orgy of violence. Then the story full of plot holes works.

    For fans, TLoU was once a highlight that exceeded all limits of good taste with part 2.

    This comes out when authors with unhealthy closeness to a certain feminist person ..., miserably written character developments, plot holes without end and a game where the player partou is not allowed to make decisions himself, so that the player definitely eats the supposed message.

    An example...

    The game wants to explain what violence makes people do, but I **** on it. I, in Ellie's place, would never have let Abby get away. As a result, the game doesn't work as far as its message goes. Abby's father was a narcissistic **** that an innocent girl wanted to slit open. So why should I be sympathetic to Abby? And you even want to play? It just ignites and doesn't work.

    I can only speak for myself, but with the kind of Joel's death and from the part with Abby, the game kept losing me. Imagine Shepard from ME, in part 2, in the first third on Omega, cowardly stabbed by a no-name Batharian and then you are supposed to play the killer and fight Miranda and Co. The ME fans would have gone on the barricades just like the TLoU community.

    I loved the first part, I was really looking forward to the second part and i am now absolutely disappointed with what Naughty Dog has done here. Naughty Dog ran laughing into a circular saw. For me, TLoU died as a franchise and i will no longer buy a possible third part.    … Expand

    For the actual review, this is one of the best games i have ever played, along with its predecessor. The studio behind this series doesn't disappoint as this one is just as majestic as the original and a true sequel to the first game. The brilliant story telling, beautiful visuals and enhanced gameplay dynamics which allow for more exploration and a more open world feel during battles is very enjoyable. The brilliant performance from the actors playing the characters that is displayed in the cut scenes brings each character to life. I felt a mix of emotions going through the different character arcs, such an experience i have never felt in any other game as it is a roller coaster ride. The story follows up from the previous plot but also revisits some scenarios from the previous game to explain what happened in between which explains the story perfectly and this answered all my lingering questions after i finished the first game.

    The world of LOU is visually beautiful and you can see the amount of effort that went into the game. The story kept me on the edge of the seat all the time. The game also explores various social/political issues and introduces a good mix of diversity which blends in with the story perfectly. It also does a great job at depicting how society crumbles in a post apocalyptic scenario and how war between different factions/races with differing values leads to unnecessary series of killing and violence.

    I want to revisit and finish this game at least a couple more times as it is so entertaining.

It feels as if you played and finished the game for nothing, since nothing is actually achieved. Gameplay wise, there's no standout generational improvements from the ps3 era and enemy mob entities are reused multiple times throughout the game; it feels like you're fighting the same 10 zombies and humans. The enemy AI is also terrible, you'll have no trouble getting through the game's most difficult areas which there are very few of since the enemies are unable to detect you behind the smallest of covers. Only positive I could think of is the voice acting and even that gets tiring since the majority of this game is just cutscenes and dialogue while walking from one point to another without any significant gameplay events occuring. 1/10 because they ruined such a loved franchise. Then proceed to say how they played an hour or support the game without having played it themselves. I love the "...not a perfect game but... 10/10".

    Well, i played it and it's only redeeming quality is the graphics and sound.
    People ain't mad because of LGBT characters but because it's the centerpiece of the story instead of surviving in a post apocalypse world.
    People ain't mad because Joel died but because he did due to extremely out of character behavior just for shock value and making space for the new protagonist. Ever thought of having him die protecting Tommy or something that don't leave such a bitter taste and would be more in line with his character?
    People are mad about Ellie killing 100's of people to get her revenge but stop because of a dumb flashback because ND did not want their new character killed.

    If you really wanted to see how much people like or dislike Abby, which you seem to think people cared about her, you should have given the character a choice. I bet most of us would have killed her at the end.

    Con: Crap ending, too much romance bs, repetitive gameplay, repetitive NPC models and tons of plot holes/out of character decisions. Quicktime events galore.

    The game is a story game, a story that once was around the relationship of a man who lost his daughter and a girl with no one and the cure for the disease, the father and daughter situation was the best part of the first game, Joel and Ellie was the 2 points that hold the first game together, warming the hearts of those who played it, when the game turns around in a different perspective trying to teach us something that we know and we appreciate actually (the fact that we aren't a hero and we did bad stuff too) its just dumb, we know that and the game tries to over explain something with this new character, that we don't care. the story of the game had a bunch of flaws, poor writing and stupid plots, the game tried to do something they call showing us that hero is a matter of perspective, but they just betrayed us, and feeling betrayed is not good at all, this was a basically game of thrones season 8, nonsense, bad writing, 6/10 even should been lower, Devs WeirdChamp.    … Expand

    Unlike a lot of reviews and the game creators view of Joel's final act in the first game, I never thought of it as the unmoral act (saving Ellie).
    Since when its okay to kill someone to save others ?? Justifying the killing of Ellie to me is like justifying the killing innocent people to find a cure for Covid_19!! I would've done what Joel did for someone I didnt even care for, let alone a CHILD whose I love like a daughter.

    The faulty demonetization of Joel's act, is what justifies the horrible ending his character received in the second game.

    To me the first game story was perfect and Joel did the Moral thing. No one can take that away from me.

    TLOU Part II story is a huge departure of the interesting story of the outbreak of a mutant Cordyceps fungus and the path of finding its cure to a flat unsatisfying overused cliche revenge story. It even does that in a very harsh way as if it wants to ruin the first game legacy.

    I also had an issue with the forced unnatural inserting of strong women in the game as if we are living in an only women leading society. I am all for women rights and strong women representation, but too much of a good thing is actually a bad thing.

    Boring, repitive, linear. The characterisation is foreced and story is not engaging. Gameplay is the same as part 1 with some nuances. Everyone just seems angry. You can hear the conversation at the first production meeting. "Same again only more woke so we win the awards" It gets a 1 because its pretty and another 1 beacuse the mechanics are fun for a while at the start.

Then to have Ellie forced into his life, a young, good girl who desperately needed at least one person there for her. You can imagine how painful it had to be for the both of them and even understand if Joel thought it would be to cold to just move past what happened with Sarah and now treat Ellie as his girl. That game hurt....but in a good way. TLOU2 feels like it tried to recreate tragedies but left out hope around the corner. In the first game you are watching as Joel and Ellies bond slowly, slowwwwly gets stronger. Giving hope that maybe the could bring a bit of happiness to each other in the middle of this bleak and tragic apocalypse. TLOU2 left out addictive hope and suspense around every cut scene. In stead the story felt very cold and emo, "the world sucks and we're all just doing what we have to in order to survive" and then repeats that line another dozen times and ends in the same fashion. I heard Neil Druckmen didnt care if people really liked the game or really hated it as long as they were passionate. I dont think he realized or maybe didn't care why people were captivated by the Last of Us originally, but it feels like the sequel came from a very bitter place by very bitter people.… Expand

    Absolutely garbage storyline that totally alienates the fan base of the first game for cheap shock value And woke agenda pandering.
    And a very awkward sex scene that made me want to vomit.

    Worst game I have played in years naughty dog is not the developers I once loved now it is woke SJW garbage.

They wanted the duo from the first game!

    Third and final point - this game tries to be too realistic and violent for its own good yet it just ends up being stupid and the game seems to forget its characters personalities and in the end the game actually ends up teaching us no lesson or moral at all. Its like the sole reason they have made this game is to show needless gore and tragic deaths. its forced pain. SPOILERS: It does not make sense why Ellie goes on a killing spree, whips one girl to death, kills another pregnant woman... to in the end, let the villain get away... that is just unbelievable and a waste of 30 hours. Killing those who aren't responsible and leaving the one who is? The game teaches us something IMMORAL.

    TBH I have not played this game, but I don't need to XD - because the gameplay speaks for itself.

    TLOU1 was special for a reason; although its story wasn't something innovative or original by any means - it NAILED, the character development, the lesson of surviving and determination, the storytelling, the balance between cut scene and game play. It did what had to be done PERFECTLY. TLOU2 will never be the game its predecessor was - and the first game in my eyes still remains as the KING.    … Expand

How could you take such an horrible aproach to this sequel... and Neil Druckman takes all criticism as if it was just a temper tantrum from the fans, and calls us idiots for thinking this way, he ignores thousands of fans that he betrayed and just pretends that this game is a masterpiece just because he feels like he is a great writter.

    Graphics, game-play are top notch.
    The story is grim, bitter, upsetting and heartbreaking but its a story they wanted to tell and its a brilliant one. This is the first game that crawled out the screen to give physical discomfort.
    Experience this game.
    I rate this game better than the first one.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
