    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I don’t like the decision Naughty Dog did. Real hard what happens after 2 Hours playing the Game. It’s disgusting and annoying what they have done to one of the best Videogame ever!
    If we talk bout how it’s look it’s brilliant, no discussion for that; but there Is so bad and character and storytelling; also the message behind all don’t compare with the end and part 1. And how the Producers act with us Fans! We made the rich and big; not only the Games; The Uncharted Series are amazing and one of the Best Games worldwide, also The Last of Us 1!! But you also need a Community or Fans out there; and probably sometime you should listen to them! For me it is one of the worst storytelling Game ever. Charactertelling - >1/10

The reason is: character development. If you kill one of the most beloved characters early in the game (Joel) and want to bring in new main playable characters like Abby, you HAVE to bring WAY more backstory in    For Joel

    Aight m8. I can tolerate this whole SJW **** but it wont make a game good.
    Here is some tips for you buddy. Good character development, good plot and motivation does.
    But Neil forgot about we live in the real world and this Biggot sandwich - Boy on steroids - Lesbian transsexual really works as good plot in his own world of make believe.
    But heres is a some real **** buddy. Nobody cares about minority and your sjw bull****.

    People wont like this game cuz u **** up with plot and characters.
    Flashback on falshback and the whole story is about revenge that does not even there in the end.
    WOW WHAT A STORY!! A REVENGE, WOW. NEVER SEEN THAT ONE IN 20 YEARS OF watching movies and playing games. WHAT A MOTIVATION FOR PLAYER A CHARACTER. Even this simple as hell plot was **** up.

Why did you do this to your fans and our loved character? The story of the game is really BAD. It's such crazy like if you played 10 hours as David just after killing and eating Ellie in the first part of the game. And Joel forgave him at the end, and after that David became new protagonist in TLOU. This is madness.
    The only one thing that is good is graphic. Not even gameplay, it's almost the same like in TLOU1

    I loved the first game but this is just such a trainwreck. The story what Last of Us is known for is ruined leaving only medicore and linear stealth action for you with nothing much improved over the original game.

    This game starts with a very brief glimpse of life in Jackson, Colorado and then immediately you're thrust into a revenge mission which seemingly lasts the remainder of the game. The intro is so short that I feel sorry for the animators who created the town of Jackson. There's absolutely no time given to breath and play around in a town of respite before it's all taken away from you and you're sent on a revenge mission, one you don't really want to go on. And other characters join, seemingly, for no other reason than "why not?" This is so incredibly boring, and a lazy story setup. Last of us 1 sent us on a long adventure across the country and was visually and thematically different from each location. I'm six hours in on last of us 2 and I'm still running around downtown Seattle, exploring pockets of set pieces, and just looting and killing creatures and people, for no reason. Ellie could easily capture and question one of these enemy NPCs to find what she's looking for, but instead she decides to just wing it, and look for her objectives by eye.

    The graphics and the gameplay are amazing, but I just don't care. The story is just doing nothing for me. And I shouldn't have to wait six hours for it to finally get good. I'll play it to completion, but right now, I would not recommend it. It just feels like such a chore to play.

    I've finished the game, and my score still stands. It's amazing technically speaking, but I know it's because of worker's crunch time. The story, for what it is, is told fine I guess. By the end, I just felt empty, like Ellie. I wanted more from this story. And we didn't get a second of time as Joel, except the beginning. I don't know why they decided to go in this direction, or why Sony approved it, but here we are... Last of us 2 is a divisive, polarizing game. It succeeds in many facets, and fails in others. This will be a damaging game to many. I don't see Druckmann or Naughty Dog recovering from this from the majority of their fans. While fun, I dread its story. But sales will sure condemn this game a success.    … Expand

    Oh god, i was actually so hyped for this game. But the result is a comeplete garbage game. Gameplay is good combat feels satisfying to the end. Animations and camera angels are almost perfect. But i dont care about it. I care about the story and its **** garbage. Thank you neil druckmann.

    What a terrible follow-up to the first. Anyone who leaves a positive review is paid off. AND WHILE THIS SITE IS STILL ACCEPTING NEGATIVE REVIEWS THEY BLOCK NEGATIVE REVIEWS AND FORCE THE GAMES RATING UP. IT HAS JUMPED FROM A 3.4 TO A 4.6 IN A WEEK.

    First of I don't really think this game deserve 0 score, though it's the only way of showing protest against "paid" reviews of so called critics.

    Now let's get to why it's bad. Long and point by point.
    First of gameplay. It's dull, it's repetitive and it's absolutely boring.
    For a first quarter of the game you playing stealth game without any means to make stealth interesting you don't have skills(which by the way you should find in the means of magazines scattered around the so called world which is more of a tunnel with enough side turns or dead ends that will eventually lead you to a same point and still those magazines can be missed) and if you do, you don't have skill points to open them up soon enough to avoid this getting boring you don't have silent weapons and the only way to make it as it's intended to is by crawling in a grass and bushes with 1 button gameplay which is boring. Then we move to the second quarter of the game when you finally have tools but if you play on a highest difficulty the resources are so scares that you don't really have means of using them which again forces you to the point of either changing difficulty or continue boring bush crawling with 1 button playstyle. Then we move to the third and forth quarters of the game where you again striped out of means of doing the gameplay interesting and even of the mechanics as you play as Abby who is a part of wolves which were using dogs that made it at least a bit interesting and didn't allowed you to just sit on spot smashing stealth kill button. And instead of giving you a synergy with a dog and moving onto a new mechanics they just remove them from the game as a factor so the second half of the game is even a downgrade from already boring stealth gameplay. Again dull, poor and just plain uninteresting.

    Secondly story.
    I was never a fun of TLOU1 so I don't have any years long love for Joel or Elle. Though they were developing during the game, characters were evolving and that lead to controversial ending. Here we have a flat characters that don't do this. They just don't develop still at the end they take a drastic turns against everything they stood and fought for it's just a poor written drama of a broken characters that don't do anything in terms of what ending brings us to.
    Prologue and Joel's death make no sense at all. He stumbles upon Abby and her group just as they shows up in the region, saves them, tells his name, lead them to a safe house and can't understand where is this going to. No matter in the first game he saw through such characters by a single glance of an eye and then again Elle magically shows up just in time to see what is happening.
    Epilogue is even more stupid as Tommy instead of helping Elle as his brother would've probably wanted wanted sets her up on a vengeance path AGAIN. Then Elle finds Abby saves her and Lev, fight with Abby and let them go. Abby knows where cicadas are, have Lev by her side and get everything. Elle looses everything even her new family with Dina though she is the one braking vengeance circle she didn't even started in the end.
    Even with this BS story they could have done it better by parallel playing for Abby and Elle, or even by totally swapping the two halves of the game instead they try to make you understand Abby when you already don't want to, when you already hate her and just don't give any Fs about why she did what she did.

    And thirdly is a narrative.
    You don't make strong female characters by just showing how weak and bad male characters are, you don't make good gay characters by showing how pathetic and cruel straight are, you don't make a strong trans character by showing that for some weird reason(sarcasm) tribal, postapocalyptic, religious group don't agree and don't accept this chatacter being trans. The only thing this achieve is creating hatred towards this characters and,or there counterparts for the matter and towards the writers that just can't represent them by any means other then hatred. They must stand out by what they do and not by others that do wrong.

    And lastly you don't buy or otherwise force critics to say that game isn't what it is. A dull, boring, weak, old and underdeveloped in terms of gameplay and story pile of garbage. You don't make metacritic to start showing some weird server errors that occurs only for this game. You don't lie in promotional materials. You don't censor some games and leave others with a full out sex scenes.
    Again this game doesn't deserve a 0 score, it's 4-5 at least for it's graphics and detail obsession. But when I see 95 critics score for this I go for 0 to balance it out.    … Expand

    Fantastic graphics. Showed how dedicated naughty dog is at their craft and it really shows. The story is not bad at all but I did like the first Last of Us slightly better. Not every story has to have a happy ending.

But the thing they've done is so horrific that you won't care what their motivations are. The only pleasure you derive from that half of the game is seeing every one of her death animations.

Before I go on with my personal opinion on the game I will say this “It would have been better if I never played TLOU Part II” Where to start….i will simply focus on where the game messed it up for me big time and not talk about how beautiful and how improved the combat mechanics are (they are not).. Naughty Dog simply developed this game for the past 7 years to totally annihilate, wipe out of existence all the empathy, character bounding and LOVE they built on the first game. All that sentiment and intricate relationship that grew in the first game for Ellie and Joel, they just decided that they had to kill it in this game and the worst part: “I think that was their goal”…..It is unthinkable, unimaginable in my precarious mind how Joel, a character that lived in both worlds, a character that since the very first scene on the first game was pray of mistrust when that guard killed his daughter and along the whole first game he is resentful of anyone he does not know, he thought Ellie all she knows in term of the current state of the humankind, not to trust no one NEVER…. And he blindly share all the information to Abby AFTER saving her life and walks right into a cheap ambush. (Oh yeah we will talk about this one later) A COMPLETE STRANGER who just showed up and ended up killing him…and to add insult to injury Naughty dog forces me be that weapon it forces me to be Abby for a good portion of the game…ME the one that has been trying to save them since the get go…. THIS IS HORRIBLE and right at that point in the game I felt I did not want to keep playing anymore. And all this just to be able to fuel the revenge plot that will follow in Ellie’s hands (that until the very end where she had a change of heart)….Abby…. I still don’t understand what was the goal there….relentless evil, pure and many, many times unsubstantiated evil just for the sake of again REVENGE. Not only they showed her as a robot after Joel literally saved her life she brutalize him with a gulf club. And still they try, yeah they try to humanize her by petting dogs and attempting to show she cares about her group, this is one of the worst character developments I have ever seen coming from one of the best teams (if not the best in the world) Abby’s actions are like taken from another universe, they make no sense most of the times and simply are unnecessary. And all this Naughty dog did it by putting you in her shoes, I was forced to harm the characters I loved or the people that they cared about. Time and again I felt like stopping the game and uninstall it, hated every time I had to be Abby not because what she was doing, but because what she was doing didn’t make lots of sense. And for all those justifying Abby’s actions , how am I supposed to feel right at the point where she did what she did I knew nothing of her, I had spent countless hrs. with Joel so no matter what you do after that point redemption is IMPOSSIBLE for Abby. And then when you go through all this suffering destroying what you built in the first game naughty dog DENIES you the ability to kill this despicable character Abby, and Ellie ends up sparing her life “”What the hell ND”””. So not only your whole game have been about REVENGE and senseless brutality but the moment where REVENGE actually makes sense you took it away from me….. I am Sad, I am Mad, I feel horrible Naughty Dog. I felt you had your story to tell and you intentionally carried on with it despite hurting your own work on the first game and most importantly, hurting us gamers as fan of your games and the universe you so graciously created for us. I regret having played the game….. I would like to forget, I would like to stay with that image of Ellie and Joel when they found Jackson.… Expand

The second part proposes us the possibility that despite all hatred one can find strength to forgive the opponent. It may work but not in the way it was realized. I loved the character development and my emotional connection with them as the story progressed made me care about what was going on and who was doing what. I am mature enough to accept the openly gay relationship between main characters in the story for what it is and I have to say that the sensitivity in which the script is handled is excellent.
    Combat is both brilliant and disastrous. When it works, the gun battles are awesome with limited ammo forcing you to adapt a defensive strategy while picking off foes one at a time. The melee attacks become epic as you unlock the ability to upgrade weapons rendering the on-screen violence quite impactful emotionally. It is an 18 rated game, so if you don’t like violence, don’t buy it.
    Sadly as the game progressed into the second half of the story, I quickly lost patience and interest in the story line. I was forced into playing characters that I, initially, cared very little about and I was effectively forced into relearning whole sets of skills that I had already spent hours honing in the first half of the game, only to have to do it all again albeit with slight tweaks to the weapons and skill-trees. Being forced to walk around in now familiar venues having conversations and looking at utter tat in the environment for the sake of developing the second leg of the story really frustrated me. Huge Yawn.
    The other irritation throughout the game is one which many titles with NPCs suffer from, the NPCs constantly get in your way. The frequency in which NPCs would push in front of me when trying to position myself at the edge of a wall to ambush an enemy was a joke. I tried bludgeoning the NPCs from time to time but to no effect. It’s a lesson for all developers. If you must place NPCs in a game, for goodness sake keep them out the way or allow the player to beat them senseless for being stupid morons.
    In the final few hours the story jumps repeatedly from one flashback to another and for me the game became the definition of tedium. At this stage of the game the already irksome combat controls became a real hassle, probably because I had stopped caring and I just wanted it to end. When pushed into tight spaces with large numbers of foes, the combat mechanics seriously lets the game down. I couldn’t find any method of locking on to a target during melee and when you dodge a foe, you have to manually swing the camera around to find them again which sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t and often I’d lose the upper hand simply because the mechanics were too slow and too cumbersome to actually achieve what I wanted to achieve. Slow and poorly designed weapon selection mechanics added further to the problem and it became unnecessarily frustrating in an otherwise extremely well polished title.
    In the final third of the game, Naughty Dog's vision started to win me over. I didn't agree with all their story-board choices but the immersive play forced me to start caring about other main characters as much as Ellie and some genuine morally-charged themes left me thinking about the game long after the credits stopped rolling.    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the one and only proof that Naughty Dog is nothing without the guidance of Amy Hennig. They should go back to making kids games, maybe Jak and Daxter or something would be much closer to what they can do nowadays...

    What a disappointment. The story shoots itself in the foot in the prologue and right when your getting used to the limp it pulls the rug right from underneath you half-way through and pins you on the ground for 10 hours.

    The first game made me want to be a father, this one just makes want to kill myself, literally. If you have depression I wouldn't recommend this game.

This is done with little/no care or respect for the characters; some huge events are rushed, others are not but the game delights in having you play through their suffering for too long. If you care about Joel/Ellie after playing the first one, you will not enjoy this game. It will stay with you long after the credits have rolled. In that respect, the director has likely achieved what they set out to do, and some kudos has to be given for making a story that - at least in parts - is impactful. The impact, as well as the graphics, sound and music (which are all top notch) are the reasons this score is as high as it is. However the cost of the events of it's story, the treatment of it's characters, and where they are left by the end is too great. The events of this game and the conclusion cast a shadow not only over the experience of this game, but over the first, making it also feel tarnished by the experience, knowing what events follow.

    The first game was interspersed with poignant moments that shed light in it's darkness (such as the Giraffe scene), but these moments are all lacking from this game, save for 1 or 2 bittersweet flash-back scenes. Aside from it's treatment of the characters this is it's biggest downfall, in that it appears to have lost the soul of the first game.

    While I've played the first game 3 times and enjoyed each play-through just as much, I will not be playing this game a second time. Once is enough, or possibly too much.    … Expand

    I hated the story. Period. Ending was okayish. Graphics are insane though. Definitely worth a rental or a quick buy/trade-in. There are lot of issues in the game including being just too long but definitely worth a play.

Why write a revenge story if you're not going to serve up some cold revenge at the end. So let me get this right, its ok for hundreds of other soldiers/cult members to die in pursuit of Joel's killer, but when it comes down to finally killing Abby she grows a conscience? What were they thinking? Did they honestly expect everyone to be cool with that ending?
    When I started playing this game initially I remember telling my friends that I don't get what has people so upset about this game. I did a good job of avoiding spoilers prior to playing it. I was jokingly telling my friends that literally the ONLY thing that could potentially turn me against this game is if they try to turn it into a morality lesson of "revenge bad, durrr".
    Then halfway through the game you suddenly switch to Abby and I thought this has to be a joke right? Did these devs honestly expect people to be cool with playing Joel's torturer/murderer? Did they honestly expect a little backstory and context to make me NOT want to kill her. She could be a freaking saint that saves a whole boat full of puppies and I'd still want her to suffer and die. You can't just open with her horribly killing Joel, who everyone had a strong emotional connection to and people have been reminiscing about for seven years leading up to this. Everyone was exited to finally catch up with Joel and Ellie after all these years, only to have Joel get snuffed in the first couple hours. Now, I would be ok with this as it really sets up the players boundless hatred towards Abby. I thought it was an effective way of making you feel Ellie's rage and lust for vengeance. But this needed the payoff of enacting that vengeance in the end. This game gave me the catharsis equivalent of blue balls.
    I even thought the game pulled a fast one on me when Ellie and Dina retire to the countryside and everything is super idyllic, which lead me to believe that Ellie would drop the quest for revenge in favor of love. Then when she decides to set out to finish what she started I cheered! "Sneaky game, making me believe we wouldn't get that satisfying conclusion" I thought. Well played! I honestly unlike many others wasn't seriously mad at this game until the very end. Death by a thousand cuts and drowning seemed like a pretty cathartic way of ending Abby. Then....nah...actually revenge is bad and sorry to all those people that had to die for me to get to you Abby, but oh well. Byeeeeee!
    If my fiancee hadn't been asleep next to me on the couch I would have let out an agonized scream at that point.
    My question is, did Neil Druckmann honestly think people would be on board with this? Was he surrounded by yes men during the whole production? Did't anyone take him aside to say "hey Neil, I don't think this is such a great idea. Might piss off a lot of people and effectively Last Jedi our franchise into the ground." But I guess nobody dared to speak up and we ended up with this train wreck.
    Honestly, I don't think a game has ever affected me in such a negative way. I have been feeling this ball in the pit of my stomach, feeling depressed and angry for the last few days now. Wishing I'd skipped this one now.    … Expand

    They stomp right over the original game just so they can create some sort of feverish nightmare of a story with sjw politics injected artificially. Breath of the wild dealt with these issues perfectly. They didn't let it affect the story and they didn't force it down your throat

    The last of us 2 tries to be a post apocalypse story that is diverse and different, however it feels forced and agenda pushing through nearly the entire story, while the game-play feels fluid and combat is more satisfying than the first game, the risk reward is just not there and ruins the game-play experience.

    The story for the last of us 2 leaves you feeling as if the game was never finished, the ending is certainly there but it is a disappointment, in-fact alot of this game disappoints with trailers blatantly LYING about Joel's involvement in the game, some scenes are model switched such as flashbacks in the game being shown in the trailer as present old Joel and Ellie in the ads. Naughty dog/ Sony blatantly lied to people in the games advertising to sell more copies and in the final product there is very little present day interaction with Joel and Ellie.

    Overall, The agenda pushing in this game mixed with the lying of Advertisements for this game ruin the experience for the Last of us fans, While the gameplay is definitely improved and voice acting is superb the story is a massive let down even for people who this game tries to pander to and bleak story lovers.

    I normally would have given this game a 2 or 3 just for the game-play and voice acting alone but with the lies in advertisement and a story so bad that i believe the game should have been scraped and redone from the start story-wise along with agenda politics forced into our video games especially at a time like this when games are used to escape the real world, i had to take points away from what my normal score would have been. i sincerely hope this will be a lesson learned on naughty dogs part and their next games will be better in the future.

Joel's death was anticipated from the first game, taking the fact that he basically butchered entire groups and some survivor would come to take revenge. The problem is that could've been done better than setting a game because a pointless npc from the first game died at the end. Abby's character is a problem in many ways:
    1. a woman would not look like that in a million years without steroids treatment 2.everything she is doing is pure psychotic, and it represents that this character has seriously mental issues
    3. Her companion, Lev(Lilly) is annoying just because screams : I'm a boy not a girl, please accept me! A good character is known for it's personality, not for sexuality. The last part with the rattlers is totally pointless : Ellie abandons it's girl for an old revenge story but when is about to kill abby she stopped because, joel wouldn't do the same thing, forgetting that we talk about a guy that butchered an entire military group to save her life.    … Expand

    A true masterpiece. Story was a little up and down. But Gameplay 10,Graphics 10, Sound effects 10, Soundtrack 10 , Story 8. Essentially a movie you can play and what direction of gaming needs to be. Truly it maybe the Last of Us as in non micro transaction uninspired trash to generate profits.     I have never been so disappointed in a game. Giving it a 4 is generous. The gameplay and visuals were beautiful but the plot and story just felt like a cash grab. That game could have been half of the length that it was. And I felt like I thought it was the ending 5 different times. Any part that I thought was the ending would have been better than what we got.

    El juego es evidente no deja indiferente a nadie. O lo odias o lo amas. Creo que a nivel técnico, jugable, visual y sonoro es una pasada, de 10, con infinidad de escenarios diferentes todos trabajados hasta el más minimo detalle. Donde vienen las diferencias es en la narrativa, para mi, pese a tener alguna laguna y tal vez algo sobrealargado, me ha gustado mucho, creo que es muy valiente yEl juego es evidente no deja indiferente a nadie.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Cómo hay muchas dudas de porque tanto hate a TLOU2 aquí les dejo unas razones que he visto y para que no los engañen con que "lo odian por las lesbianas" (mucho texto y spoilers al final)

    - Neil Druckmann, el vice presidente del estudio, forzó a Amy Hennig que renunciara de ND por diferencias ideológicas. Ella fue la escritora de Uncharted 1-3 y se negaba a incluir cosas progres como lo vemos en Lost Legacy y el nuevo TLOU.

    - El también tomo consejo de Anita Sarkeesian, una conocida charlatana que quiere insertar su ideología en los videojuegos aunque no le guste el medio en realidad.

    - Personajes mujeres hechas feas por la idea de que diseñarlas con rasgos femeninos es "objetificacion" (gracias a Sarkeesian)

    - Naughty Dog abuso del sistema de copyright para tumbar cuentas de Twitter y Youtube que hablaran del juego aunque no incluyera videos. Comentarios son desactivados en Youtube y Twitter para evitar criticas.

    - La hipocresía de Sony al censurar juegos de terceros que incluyen desnudos parciales/fanservice pero dejan escenas sexuales explícitas en TLOU2

    - ND abuso de sus empleados al hacerlos trabajar horas extra y sin pagarles (no se si tiempo después si les pagaron) aún así lo retrasaron cuando el juego ya estaba completo y eso causo que se filtrara (supuestamente por un empleado molesto)

    - Druckmann se insertó como personaje en el juego para escupir el cadáver de Joel y tener sexo con uno de los protagonistas, además en un item donde dice tener 100 de cerebro (imagen)

    - En el juego es imposible disparar a objetos que tengan relación con la religión judía (si no me creen díganme y les paso un vídeo)

    - La historia es una basura, te hacen controlar a un personaje nuevo que mató a uno muy querido. El final es incongruente y anticlimatico.

    - Cualquier crítica hacia el juego es tachado de homofobia o machismo

    - ND usó un cover de una canción por una youtuber sin darle crédito en uno de sus trailers
    A esto y otras cositas es que le pasó a este juego
    -La forma en la que la prensa de juegos manejó todo, dándole un 100 y ahora atacando a quien lo califica mal con sinónimos de intolerancia es un plus a todo lo turbio detrás de este juego - y los puntos le doy es por la gente trabajo haciéndolo, que fue explotada y renunció a la empresa por las medidas de ND y por qué se nota se esmeraron en lo gráfico y lo jugable que es lo único que vale la pena, pero no para darle 100 como la prensa, que decía era una maravilla de guion, de ser así, se ve que se sorprenden entonces hasta por qué sale el sol    … Expand

    Yo hey guys, So I'm a new rising reviewer and I just played through the last of us blind. This is not a good game, and I am a massive fan of the first....
    To sum things up quite quickly the game for me would have been a solid 4 or 5. This is due to its gorgeous graphics and somewhat polished controls. The game has not done anything to evolve significantly gameplay wise. In saying so there were more situations in which the game offered multiple tactics in order to progress which I liked. The game's NPC's are not that great and the overall pacing of the game is constant unlike the first. This made the game feel long and just one big drag.
    However the Last of Us part 2 deserves a big 0.
    This game is constantly forcing a political agenda down my throat whether I like it or not. Numerous times I wanted to just turn off the game however for the sake of making an unbiased review I hammered on towards the end. Why make these sort of statements in something we play as an escape from reality? So stupid and unnecessary.
    I have been a big fan of Naughty Dog over the years but this is the game that ruined it for me. A lot of fans of the original will find this game extremely disappointing.
    Save your money and stay clear of this one.
    If you ever so happen to play the first one again, make sure to take out every single person in that hospital.    … Expand

    Rather than make this an epic farewell to our beloved character, they killed Joel like sh*t.
    Joel deserve better. It's not about his dead but about how he died.

    The story would be much much more better if Joel got separated from Tommy and somehow in life and dead situation and then saved by Abby, a long the way then Abby learn their names and invite both of them to her hideout.
    Joel of course would be refuse at first, but because she saved his life and too far away going back home he'll eventually agree.

    And the golf club, if that's Joel we know from the first game he will fight till the end. He will grab the club from the first swing, smash Abby's leg and before he can smash Abby's head, Manny shot him. And then Manny gave Abby the gun, Ellie comes in and saw Abby shot Joel to dead.

    That's would be more sense, and epic farewell to Joel.
    The end if Ellie finally let Abby live, we can understand and accept it.
    But after Abby brutally and tortured her figure father to dead and pursue her and in the end let her free, WTF is that!

    great game for 30 minutes.

    After that, return it or burn it. naughty dog should be apologising for making this travesty

I am personally not a great fan of stealth-style game play, but in this case making the choice between being sneaky or going in weapons blazing is a lot of fun at all times.

    The graphics (especially the lighting), sounds, voices, characters and landscapes are among the best if not the best I have ever seen or heard on any platform. I played the game alone, in a fairly dark room with headphones and on a relatively high difficulty. It was a really intense experience that left me with a pounding heart many times.

    The biggest part of general criticism seems to be the story and the characters that drive it. I personally must strongly disagree with this assessment but I understand where it's coming from. Where the first game was more of a character driven blockbuster, the second game is much more nuanced and calm and puts the player in uncomfortable situations and perspectives. I personally enjoyed the heck out of this very grown up approach. It kept me interested and engaged every minute and left me wanting more. But if you were expecting a linear progression of game one in a more standard Hollywood style sequel, you might be disappointed. For me, maybe because I've also gotten older, it was the best storytelling I have ever experienced in a game (or movie).

    For me, the worst thing was that the came had to end at some point. The ending was a bit abrupt, but served well as a conclusion.

    I would give 11/10 if possible - this is why I play games. It has instantly become one if my favorite games of all time and I applaud Naughty Dog for being so brave with this game.    … Expand

    Tlou 1 was great, so what the actual hell happened here? The story is complete GoT season 8 level garbage.

    The only good things here are the graphics and voice acting. The gameplay is meh at best, repetitive and a bit outdated.

I knew Joel would die very quickly, I knew I would have to play as Abby for 10 hours and I knew at the end I couldn’t even kill Abby. These three things alone are enough of a reason to scare anyone or to rate this game a 0, however, it just doesn’t matter when combined with the entire experience. Now I am not saying this game is perfect, but certainly doesn’t deserve the hate it has been receiving. Yes, watching Joel die in that way sucks and after finishing the game I still wonder if it was the correct way to end the story of such beloved character. But putting yourself in the mindset, you understand why naughty dog decided to make this, you really feel like Ellie and that motivation keeps you going. Even if I knew I would be playing as Abby, I didn’t know when, so when it happened, at first my motivation to play as Abby was to just arrive at that critical point, but as I kept playing, my motivation changed dramatically and I ended up enjoying a lot the entire Abby section to the point I realized y deeply cared for this characters that I just murdered some hours before. The gameplay, although very similar to the first, I found it very enjoyable and really fun, the graphics and score are just perfect, but what really surprises me is the number of balls a developer needs in order to craft and present a story like this one. I ended up absolutely loving this game and has been on my mind for weeks now, it is truly a devastating, epic, sad, funny, and just a piece of art that anyone should experience. I repeat that yes it is devastating to play this game but in the end, it feels with it. 10/10… Expand

    The graphic is amazing, the best the end of this generation can offer.
    Gameplay also is good

    But...
    I just wanted a little choice.
    To witness the end as intended by naughty dog or end the cycle of revenge with actual revenge.

    Finished the game and everything felt...unresolved.

It literally kills the entire purpose of TLoU 1, one of the beloved characters gets killed by an unknown person whose goal was revenge. That in itself is abrupt just 2 hrs into the game... Just to simply let her live plus she bit off your fingers. It has great gameplay and visuals and acting. But that story... But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
