Just AMAZING. The game is great at every point possible. Graphics, gameplay, story. It's not a game for everyone, you must play it open-minded and know that's a game about people and humans behavior. I like it very much, one of the best games of my life so far.

This game, while linear, had some great open world aspects. I was excited to go into buildings off the beaten path even if that meant facing more infected. The accessibility options were also wonderful. I get motion sick, so being able to mess with those options allowed me to play the game unhindered. The at mostly of the game was amazing as well. The intense moments were intense as hell, and the beautiful, breath taking moments were a much needed breather from scarier parts. And those death animations, whether from the player character or the enemy were VERY realistic. The animation team did a great job.
As for the story...A+. I grew to like every character (yes EVERY character)! The story surprised me in ways I didn’t expect and the characters were well fleshed out. I also appreciated the inclusivity in terms of gender, race and sexuality. Nothing was forced down my throat; ND introduced nuanced characters in a great way. The game left me emotionally drained because the themes were so heavy, yet human. Despite that, I can’t wait to start New Game Plus. I’m ready to be hurt again.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I just finished the game last night, and I am still constantly thinking about the game. I am over 50, and play games instead of watching t.v. I have not had a game that has wow 'ed me, taken me on an emotional roller-coaster, made me really think about things instead of just running and gunning, feel for and come to understand every person directly involved in the story. I laughed out loud many times, and cried more than once.

In the first game, I definitely identified with Joel, as I am an older straight, white, male, also. I loved that story, and understood his motivations very well. This game had me dig even deeper, and got me so involved that I connected with and, understood the motivations, and struggles of both main characters. At first I didn't really like playing as Abby, but very quickly I could empathize, and sympathize with her, and her allies. I didn't want to... but I did, and then came to care about her, and her plight. I guess I've always had a good imagination, and the game developers, cast, and director did an AMAZING job of using the "take a walk in their shoes" method.

My wife, who is also over 50, and straight. Played this game, and absolutely LOVED it! She had to bite her tongue so many times so as not to spoil the game for me. Her comment to me about an hour after she finished the game was: "Damn.... now what am I going to do...." I mentioned new game +, and she is already 1/4 of the way through her play-through. And this is coming from a woman who typically hates reading notes in games, and would rather play multiplayer games so she can team up with me.

TLDR: Gameplay: smoother than the first. Graphics: WOW!!!!! I was left stunned looking at some of the amazing scenery way more than I should have. Attention to detail: More detailed than the first game. Story: REALLY draws you in, as long as you have an open mind, and let the game take you where the writer wanted to.

My completely honest opinion, is that this game is nothing but a work of art, and was much more involving than any other story driven game I have EVER played. TLOU was great, Horizon: Zero Dawn was also up there, and I could go on and on about all the games I have ever played, but I really do have to get back to work.

I can't wait to get home tonight and start my new game+ play-through.

You enter the game in an absurd immersion that she created, the twists in the story, the different angles, you perfectly understand the motivations of each character that is imposed and realize that it affects them in each chapter.

We feel anger and hatred together with Ellie and we understand the reason for her revenge and you also end up having this feeling of revenge, but in each chapter you feel that she ends up being consumed by this revenge and you no longer see the pain and problems it brings to the around you! On the other hand, it's the same thing, especially when you see the other side of the story and, in the end, you realize that all the revenge brought suffering to everyone, but it also frees everyone, I myself was anguished for not wanting to see revenge and hoping the most sensible end.
It is indescribable what you feel when you play, for me it is an incredible story and I can only praise Naughty Dog for taking the risk and bringing this incredible game to us, it just showed how The Last of Us is my favorite game and certainly this one it's the best game of the year, this generation and my favorite game!

And really, many people were not prepared for this masterpiece, it is very incredible for certain people, simple!

I hope Naughty Dog continues to make such brilliant games, it just shows how the company is undoubtedly one of the best and the care it takes with its games!

First I Was Disliking The Game When I Had To Play As Abby But Then I Realised That It Ain't Bad The Game Made Enemy Become Friend With Player.
This Game Has Really Different Choice That Makes The Player Neutral To Both Characters But:
This Game Is A MASTERPIECE I Really Liked This Game Its A Different Game Different Than All The games I Have Ever Played Although I Am Sad They Killed Joel But Still The Storyline Was Awesome And Music Toooo. This Game Gave A Good Moral And A Good Lesson That In Revenge We Can Lose Everything We Have To Trade Everything For Our Revenge And MAybe You Won't Get The Revenge As Ellie Realised That Abby Was Doing Nothing Wrong She Was Just Taking Revenge Of Her Father At That Time She Also Realised That She (Ellie) Is Also Taking The Revenge Of Her Father (Joel) And It Was A *BREATHTAKING* Moment. Well, She Loses Everything Even Her Ability To Play Guitar, She Used To Remember Joel By Playing A Song And Now In His Memory She Cannot Even Play it Well That Was A Dark Moment But It Gave A Good Story And Moral And A Really Deep Meaning And I Don't Know What To Say Except Breathtaking In A Different That Was Neither Good Nor Bad But Just Breathtaking.

It´s not what you expect. It´s not like Part 1. But it hits the same devastating emotional points that make you question your actions and consider differing viewpoints.
It does this by putting the player in a lot of uncomfortable positions, which is something not done often. If you like it or not should be judged after you´ve seen the last scene, because The Last of Us 2 is a package that presents itself in its whole being from the first second to literally the last.
It made me happy, angry, furious, confused and questioning my own actions. This is a great game, and everyone who worked on it gave it their all.

Let me start off with a disclaimer so that nobody can make any claims about fake bot posts. I'm going to be copy and pasting my review I left on Google. Now for the review

All of the backlash against this game giving it one star is absolute nonsense. I beat the game last night, and can genuinely say it's one of the greatest examples of mixing gameplay and storytelling I've ever seen. The entire point of this game is to put you into a situation where you spend hours building up a specific mindset and reinforcing those beliefs, and it then forces you to reassess them and really think "Sometimes things aren't always as black and white as they seem." Every single one-star review is someone who just feels the need to call Naughty Dog out for making them actually evaluate themselves as a person and acknowledge their faults. If you genuinely just didn't like the story of the game, that's fine. Not every story can please 100% of people. But the visuals are amazing, the environmental design is phenomenal, and the voice acting as absolutely top notch. Even if you say you personally hated the gameplay to it's very core and not a single aspect of it was enjoyable for you, the game had no major glitches, was incredibly well put together, was visually stunning, and the characters all felt real and like they genuinely believed in what they were doing. That makes this game worth no less than two stars (I would argue three personally, but I'm talking absolute lowest possible review score) because at the bare minimum it works well and looks and sounds great. The fact that it has almost no 4, 3, or 2 star reviews compared to the thousands of 5 and 1 stars should show you exactly what's going on here.

The game obviously isn't perfect. Nothing is. there were a couple of small bumps here and there, and anyone could cherry pick a handful of instances to argue against the compliments I gave the game. It's something like sixteen hours long, nothing can be absolutely perfect for sixteen hours with absolutely no flaws for anyone when it's being played across thousands of systems with billions of variations in the inputs leaving potential for something to throw an unexpected wrench into the gears of the game's internal formulas for what to do and when. But the fact remains that as a whole, this game is a major milestone in gaming and is something every game should aspire to be

The Last of Us Part II is a perfect argument of games as art. It uses the interactive media in which it's presented to make everything much more impactful than the story would be if it were just passively consumed. And to top it all off, it's one of my favorite games that I've ever played.

I absolutely loved the original game, having played through it too many times to count, including numerous times on Grounded Mode. It seems to me that a lot of the backlash for this current title may be rooted in the expectations players have had, especially those regarding the direction they've thought the story might or should take. But if one lets go of those expectations, there's a lot here to appreciate.

This game is the complete package of graphics, incredible audio design, tight stealth and third person shooting, and a narrative that simply hasn't ever been told in a game before. The "revenge is bad" theme is obviously there, but that is super reductive.

The game does an excellent job delving into the psyches of the characters and examining how human relationships can be absolutely fraught and at times, make no sense. Anyone who has ever had a contentious or complicated relationship with a parent or other loved one will immediately identify with the mature themes the writing conveys with regards to this.

It's hard to imagine anyone who considers themselves a gamer not enjoying this game and I think most of the negative reviews come with a heavy agenda and are not in good faith. As a big fan of the first game, this game surpasses it in every way.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have to give this game a 10/10 review, due to there are so many unreasonable negative reviews, and this game completes the whole story.

First, the story is good, and it does not deserve like 3, 2 or even 0 of 10. I know some of the elements in this game might anger many people, such as SJW and multi-cultural as well. However, you can say you hate these elements, but you cannot destroy the game via some unreasonable and unreal reviews. I might only give it an 8 or 9 before I saw the whole internet is like bullying the creator and the team of this game. I really hate this phenomenon, like I am living in some kind of censorship country.

Second, there is a reason it calls part 2 instead of the last of us 2. In my opinion, the last of us part 2 complete and extend the whole story behind the previous game in 2013. There must be a consequence when you against the world benefit to save personal interest, and the result is not just the dead of Joel. It is the struggle between Ellie and Abby. Obviously. Abby is a nice and ordinary girl who just wants to revenge her father's death, and she let Ellie, with killing intension, go twice. Does Ellie know it? Yes, she knows why Abby killed Joel, she knows Abby only goes to Joel, and She knows Abby let her go twice and did not kill Dina. This is the reason why Ellie's last trip is so unstable and with so many unsure. And it turns out, Ellie let Abby go when she can kill her. Because she found that what she wants is not Abby's death, it is not revenge. She just wants peace and the get rip of the moment of Joel's death. She is not sure that killing Abby can give her peace or not, so she does what Abby has done to her...let her go and never come back. There are so many things in this story... I am going to play the second round.

Back in 2016 when the first trailer dropped me and a buddy predicted that this game would show us the consequences of Joel taking down the fireflies - and that's what we got here. The gameplay is similar to the original, the score is phenomenal, the characters go through hell and back. They made some bold writing choices, and sadly a lot of people weren't on board with it, seemingly due to leaks mostly. The leaks are a bit off, they don't fully explain the experience of this game. And to the people just watching "Lets Plays" that doesn't really give you the proper experience either. To me this is one of the best games I've played, with the only detractor being some minor pacing issues. Otherwise its an easy 10 for me, waited 7 long years for this and was not disappointed. Expand

This game is a masterpiece. I say that as a fan and as a trained peace mediator. The game deals with the circle of violence and shows an realistic picture of how grief, PTSD and empathy work. It delivers a message, I always graved for people to hear. And it delivers it in a way, that is so powerful. The fact that so many people complain about it shows that it was necessary to make it. A lot of important art got a lot of backlash at the time. I believe that the haters are on the wrong side of history here.
I was horrified, when Joel died. But I was also proud, that Naughty Dog hat the courage to do it. I am so disappointed with a lot of Pop culture that are afraid to take a bold step like that. And in my opinion, it was the only logical thing to do. If they spared him, their message would have lost its impact and it would have resulted in a mediocre story and a big case of whateverism. If they went for fan service, I would forget it in a year. But now, I will always remember it. This game triggered so many different feelings in me and just hit the mark completely. I don't think, I can describe the value it had for me. Every second of it was perfect.
Thank you Neil and Naughty Dog for creating a game, that was not just fun but also had artistic value like no other!

This is a complex and relatable story with no heroes. This way of storytelling with the dual narratives on display will alienate some fans of the game but that's not a bad thing. This game is brutal and heartbreaking with segments that are not enjoyable to play through but that's the point. This world is brutal and unforgiving and that's the kind of game this is.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is absolutely the best video game I have ever played in my entire life. There is not even a close second. The only other game to be like it is the first. I judge this game as more than a simple video game, as I did the first one. I judge this overall as an engine for telling a fictional tale. They say you cannot judge a person until you walk in their shoes, and this game makes you walk, even in shoes you may not have wanted to. But even the original game did something to me that no other fictional outlet has ever done, it made me care about a fictional character more than I ever had in my entire life. Part of of that was the amazing story, the voice acting, graphics...the entire package was so realistic coupled again with the fact that it is a video game. You play as the characters you walk in their shoes.

Now on to the bad reviews. I spent some time reading through them, and it seems to me that so, SO many of them are written by people who did not play the game. I read specific gripes about story line or character flaws etc. They said oh the game did not do this or did not do that. I ask...did you play the game...because so many of the complaints I saw, the game absolutely went into. I heard so many people specifically bash the story...it was a masterpiece...

Spoilers: I understand why the first portion of the game made people mad. I understand that Joel's death was a very hard thing to experience. I myself had serious cognitive dissonance...he can't be dead. A big part of this was the previews that clearly lied. But that just added to my shock, and made it so much more powerful. Without going into every small detail of the story, even though I could, because every piece was amazing, but I will focus on the flashbacks with her and Joel. These flashbacks were masterful and changed the scale of the story each time they revealed one.

First they show Ellie and Joel as we knew them. That birthday scene definitely got to me after Joel was already dead. Then we see them out on patrol in another. People had asked did Ellie believe Joel at the end of the first game? Did she just pretend? I think this shows both. She loved Joel and wanted to trust him, but we see the weight of it on her. Then moving forward she goes and discovers the truth. This changes the story because now we see maybe there is regret on Ellie's part or guilt because she breaks from Joel. We see later this is even further when Joel stands up to the bigot. Ellie tells hi to piss off essentially. This is such an important scene. Ellie's motivations to the audience changes with each flashback. First their original relationship, we can see why Ellie wants revenge. But now their relationship is strained. The last night before Joel dies we see the pain on his face when Ellie tells him to go away. We see her face, she fell something to. She sees how much she just hurt Joel and we see her face show some hurt as a result. For the audience this changes her motivations completely....her carrying around this guilt that the last conversation she had with Joel was telling him to piss off. This changes her motivation, it is subtle but key. I will save the last flashback for the end.

First I have to jump into Abby. I understand some hate for her, I get it. I loved Joel too, she killed him very violently. But going through her story...as much as I hate to say it, I started to like her. People saying in complaints they could not relate to her or hated her, or that she was a sociopath? I just don't get it. We all agree that one of the things that made the original game so good was the ending. There was clear ambiguity there. Everyone agrees that what Joel did might not be right...but we see the one person, personally affected by it the most and people do not get her side? We follow Ellie's journey of revenge, but Abby has been festering those same emotions much longer than Ellie. There are many more details I can go into about Abby. I saw a full article defending her I agree with, but I will just skip to the end. of the game. The bottom line though, she really is not that bad of a person, she saved Ellie twice, even after Ellie killed all of her friends.

I saw so many people mad that Ellie did not kill Abby. As she id drowning Abby we see a flash of Joel playing a guitar. This does not make sense at first. Why would Ellie let her go. Then AFTER this we see the full context of the scene, which again changes everything in a subtle but very important way for Ellie. This scene is the keystone for the entire story in my opinion. We see that the very last conversation she had with Joel was about forgiveness. She tells Joel she does not know if she can forgive him but she wants to try. THAT is the exact memory she had when she decided to spare Abby. This is why this scene does make so much sense and why it was masterful writing.

Overall just an amazing game that grabs you emotionally and never lets go!

I would like to separately highlight the courage of Neil Druckmann for the fact that he was not afraid to make the story of the game as controversial from an emotional point of view as possible. Perhaps this is not a masterpiece in terms of building a story, but not a single game has yet caused such a storm of emotions and empathy in my head.

Gameplay has become even better since the time of the fantastic first part. It’s really interesting, sometimes funny and exciting to play.

The only right option in the case of The Last Of Us Part II is to buy this game and comprehend it on your own, without the help of anyone else from the side, because it will arouse completely different emotions in every person's mind.

Objectively evaluating the product, I would put 9/10. For someone it might be 8/10, and someone will refuse to accept this story because of their own views and put the game 0/10, but my emotions and impressions do not allow me to put this game score below 10/10.

Undoubtedly one of the main game of this generation, along with Red Dead Redemption 2 and God of War.

Thank you Naughty Dog. That was breathtaking.

It pushes buttons certainly, but that's the point. It delivers a thrilling story that builds on the original and makes us view character motivations in ways I've never seen before in a game. The last of us II is a masterpiece in character development and ironically, the very blind emotional rage that has been present is a parallel for the whole story. I actually hope that in retrospect, that irony is not lost on people who actually play and finish the game. It's not about seeing what you wanted to see, it's about seeing beyond your blinkered perspective and predjudice. A truly amazing game, a very worthy sequel and I hope in time the bile is fittingly seen for what it is...
Maybe some people should actually drop their linear mindedness and finish the game first to understand that this closed minded hate crusade is the very driving force of the game itself

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us: Part II is proof that video games can offer the most profound and insightful story experiences of any medium, a masterpiece of storytelling and gameplay.

The gameplay, music, performances, etc are all incredible and unforgettable. For this reason alone, the game is fantastic. But the reactions to the story have rocked me to my core. I believe no game has challenged the player to grapple with its themes and conflicts more than this game, which is primarily through its story.

I'll put it bluntly: Part II is a masterpiece of storytelling because of the very criticisms that people have about the game, not despite them.

In my opinion, people are upset that the game isn't what they expected, and are misconstruing change with a bad story. If the game were exactly like the first, then what is the point of making a sequel, especially as a sequel for a game with a nearly perfect ending? As I said, Part II is a masterpiece of storytelling because of the very criticisms that people have about the game. Since Ellie and Joel are the protagonists, we want them to be morally justified, we want them to live. Like Ellie, we begin the game traumatically watching Joel die, someone who we have waited years to reconnect with, and we are drawn into her quest for revenge.

Ellie's section is filled with stellar gameplay and touching flashbacks where she grapples with the realization of what Joel did in Salt Lake City. With each murder of Abby's friends, we watch her devolve into a monster, and it feels justified nearly the entire time. The scene in the Aquarium, when Ellie realizes Mel was pregnant, demands that we think about Ellie's actions. We then end on the major cliffhanger in the theater, and suddenly, we're Abby, a monster, a villain. Ellie's nearly guaranteed death hangs over us and haunts us.

But then Abby's section begins, and the game doesn't just humanize her and her motivations. The game demands that we empathize with her and that we question our assumptions about justice. Joel murdered Abby's dad, and thus Abby murdering Joel is completely justified if we use Ellie's quest as a standard, and probably moreso given that the game once again asks us to grapple with the moral dilemma of saving Ellie instead of producing the vaccine. Ellie grapples with this as well, feeling like her life would have had value if only she had died in the hospital. Having killed Joel, Abby is struggling and suffering, standing as proof that revenge cannot eliminate her trauma and bring her closure. We then see Ellie's journey in a completely new and upsetting light.

The game is not asking you to side with Abby or to consider her to be a good person, though you may. The game is using the characters as foils of each other to make a greater and incredibly clear statement about the cycle of violence. We learn to view Mel, Owen, Nora, etc as people who act in a very similar way to Ellie's friends. So who is right, who is wrong? Who will "win?" Who deserves to die, and what is the point of any of this? The game constantly forces you to consider and then reconsider its characters' actions in a way that is rarely seen. We grow and develop as Ellie and Abby do, which is stunning compared to other video games.

The feelings and thoughts going through my head as I reentered the theater, this time as Abby, are feelings that I have never felt in a game and can't put into words. As a player, I was rooting for Abby here, not hoping that she would kill Ellie, but that she would find her humanity and break the cycle of violence. I felt the same way with Ellie in Santa Barbara. The ending of the game, in which visions of the moment she began to forgive Joel are interlaced with her nearly killing Abby, proves to us that what Ellie needed was to come to terms with Joel's death and his decision to save her in Salt Lake City. Murdering Abby would not have helped, in the same way that murdering Joel did not help Abby cope with her own trauma.

I was worried about whether a sequel was justified to Part I. However, after playing Part II I've decided that the only reason that the story felt finished to us is because we didn't care about the people Joel senselessly murdered in Salt Lake City. We didn't care about Abby's dad. They weren't the protagonists, they weren't important, so the story ends with no loose ends. But Part II rejects these assumptions and goes above and beyond Part I's moral dilemma. Alongside stellar gameplay, performances, music, art, and environments, Part II demands questions of justice, revenge, identity, violence, grief, trauma, bias, and moral ambiguity in a stunning and unforgettable way. No game has ever demanded so much from the player, and Part II elevates video games to a peak that surpasses most movies and books. No game is perfect, but to call The Last of Us Part II anything short of a masterpiece is to criminally underrate it.

The graphics are excellent, in particular the lighting and effect detail, and character animations are very well done, though can become repetitive after some time. The story is a bittersweet description of consequences and perspective in the context of revenge. Through it, we discover what compels people to seek vengeance through anger and their idea of justice, while simultaneously from another perspective, were shown that revenge doesn’t make you whole in the end, and doesn’t solve anything. It’s a haunting, gritty, and oftentimes brutal story that draws on the characters, organisations, and relationships from the first game, and develops them in a world that still hasn’t recovered from the apocalypse. In saying that, the pacing of the game at times feels slow, and some sections of the game feel out of order. Certain characters don’t get as much time as they need to become fleshed out, and ultimately feel a bit flat. In addition to this, many elements of the games story are nuanced and alluded to in such a way that the underlying meaning is obscured to many people playing (or reading) the game. This game was emotionally exhausting to get through, and I've been a wreck for days, but damn if it isn't one of the most amazing journeys I've ever been though, without even leaving my home. The father/daughter dynamic between Joel and Ellie is one of the most beautiful and heartbreaking relationships I've ever witnessed, very rarely have I felt such a strong connection to fictional characters, they eventually start to become as real to you as those you love who are actually alive. It's probably a weird and seemingly ridiculous concept for some people to grasp, but I guess you can't always understand something unless you've experienced it firsthand. Anyways, This game deserves none of the hate it's received, it's a daring, dark, hauntingly beautiful narrative that touches on loss, grief, hatred and the true nature of revenge, and it's a hard pill to swallow at times.
I can't recommend this game enough, but be warned, it's **** heavy.

Story: 10/10. Now this is my opinion which apparently people have problems with. The story made me feel a lot. Made me feel happy, relief, angry, sad, tense, scared (jump scares) and made me think. You play as Ellie 2/3 and Abby 1/3 of the time so you see BOTH sides of the perspective which I loved. Lots of people die. People you care about and people you don't. People seem giving it low reviews because "iTs nOt wHat I wAnted, I wAntEd to pLAy aS jOeL".

I won't go over the story, that made a lot of people angry, but I will state that i found it absolutely believable, human and, above all, magnificiently narrated, crafted and presented to the player. I think that, even though people could argue that they found it too heavy or sad, no objective criticism is to be moved because of those reasons. This gameThis will be my first review ever. The Last of Us changed the world of video games as it was not just a game but a life experience of unparalleled emotional depth that has never been seen before. While Part II is not on the same level, it took a different path by creating a dark, nonlinear and mentally destructive tale of revenge making it one of my favorite games on PS4.

The strongest element of this game is the emotional trauma that happens within the first hour which only gets more painful as the story progresses.

While exploring a meticulously crafted world where every abandoned room had a story to tell, I would catch myself standing and savouring the magnificent details unwilling to rush through a single meter. The music was divinely painful as every guitar string cut right in the heart. The brutal gameplay allowed Ellie to serve vengeance in the most horrific ways to NPCs that had names and often begged for mercy. Then suddenly, everything changed.

I did not understand why did I have to play as Abby. I hated her, I hated how she looked, what she said and no matter who she helped I felt nothing but infernal hatred. As the hours passed, my resentment grew to the point of bursting that happened during her final encounter where I was literally screaming because of what I was forced to do. I hated the game and what it was putting me through.

Even after switching back to Ellie, my heart kept pounding for an hour during which I realized that the point of Abby was not to show her personality but to fuel my hatred towards her and to further elevate my experience as Ellie. Mad with rage, I was ready for retribution but the last 10 impeccably crafted minutes changed everything. I felt Ellie's pain the entire game and yet, somehow I was ok with her decision.

During the epilogue, I realized how much the game has played with my hopes and feelings by not allowing me to know where the story was going. It left me confused, bitter and empty. I was unsure of what I should be feeling because no other game has ever had such a non linear emotional experience. The saddest part happens every morning when I wake up and my heart aches because it's all over. 10/10.

There will be a lot of exploration just like the first game so if that was not an aspect you enjoyed the first time, this game might not be too fun for you. Another thing that surprised me is how much actual game there was here. moments where you are locked to walking and just hearing character dialogue are mostly embedded into the exploration this time around so you can hear the dialogue and move at your own pace (although the first 2 hours of the game are quite slow in this regard). total play time was 26 hours and 7 minutes, the longest linear game i have ever played.

Graphics - 10: probably the best ive seen on console and possibly the best anywhere and shockingly i never had a frame rate drop with this game and i am playing on a base ps4.

Story - 9: Definitely the only part of this game responsible for the controversies around it but I truly enjoyed the story. It is dark, gritty, bold, and extremely unpredictable throughout. The only issue with the story is within the last level where the game feels like it had some content cut for time as it feels rushed.

Overall - The game far surpassed my expectations and is one of my favorite games this generation. The story might put people off if there are expectations held too high since this game will be about perspective, understanding, and acceptance. The gameplay was extremely fun and brutal, the game is unbelievably long for its genre, double the length of the first game, and I truly am excited for what comes next after its controversial ending.

The Last Of Us is not just about Joel and Ellie, much less a happy story. This game brings countless interpretations about his events. The life lessons that this game brought, few games managed to do that. I've never seen a work of art that handled feelings of revenge and forgiveness as well as The Last Of Us Part 2 does. Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
