    Frankly, the game is a masterpiece. Miles and miles better than part one, and that's no slight on one. I can't imagine being so deluded to think that artists owe you ANYTHING. Movies, TV Shows, Musicians, Authors, Game Devs... NOBODY OWES YOU A STORY. They could've made this a retread of part 1 where Ellie tracks down Dina's kidnappers and saves the day but Joel somehow dies at the end...Frankly, the game is a masterpiece. Miles and miles better than part one, and that's no slight on one. I can't imagine being so deluded to think that artists owe you ANYTHING. Movies, TV Shows, Musicians, Authors, Game Devs... NOBODY OWES YOU A STORY. They could've made this a retread of part 1 where Ellie tracks down Dina's kidnappers and saves the day but Joel somehow dies at the end... but they went above and beyond to create a dynamic rarely, if ever, seen in gaming. The review bombing is atrocious. This game is a masterpiece, and the best game I spent money on in the entire PS4 generation. Only negative? I wish there was multiplayer again lol. Gamerbois are so salty and big mad on the internet, it's funny. To everyone involved, thank you for this glorious experience. I hope you don't let these idiots stop you from making a Pt. 3 if that was in the cards... but I won't blame you if you don't.… Expand

    This game is a masterpiece. Gorgeous storytelling, gorgeous graphics, gorgeous gameplay. I've been trying to understend the people who are disappointed, but theyìir arguments always make no sense to me. The sound like crybabies, or rather racist, homofobic, toxic people, who know nothing about storytelling pretending they do. Do yourself a favor, and play this game if you played the first one

    I felt bad for the devs. You work on a game for years and some dumb ass kids who didn’t even buy the game gets in the bandwagon.
    Gaming is entertainment you either like a game or not. It’s simple. Those who **** on any game is pure brain dead.

    The Last Of us 2 is a masterpiece. The story, the gameplay, the soundtrack and the design. Those hating on it, are pathetic trolls that haven't even played it, or are just so dumb they don't understand the story from both perspectives. The Story focuses on Revenge, and what revenge can cost you.

    Started playing at the time of release. Reached the end in 2 days. This is the best work in the last 7 years. Thank. I am still impressed. I registered here for the first time due to the fact that I see injustice.

    Os gráficos são lindos, muitos detalhes, muitos, Easter eggs, O gameplay muito parecido com o 1 com melhorias inspiraram-se concerteza com o MGS. A historia muito boa não sou fã do final final mesmo... Mas entendo a mensagem vinculada no final do jogo... A nota juste seria 9 mas depois de tanta crítica ponho 10

    ellie says she can try to forgive joel and in the next day he gets killed by abby filled taken by vengeance because joel killed her father. Ellie sees joel last moments and gets mad obviously.
    She goes for a hunt for revenge almost loses her humanity on the hunt same as joel . Killing everyone who stands against her until she gets to abby to get her revenge. Abby gets filled with revenge again killing the people that are close to ellie. the game is a hunt for revenge from both sides. It has a sad ending showing that ellie lost her family and everything she had with dina by revenge Great game dunno why people are unliking it so much    … Expand

    It is nothing short of being a masterpiece, as it is incredibly brave with it’s storytelling. The greatest part is that it offers perspective like no other game has done before.
    Cancel Culture can’t and won’t ruin this game as it is an epic emotional journey like no other.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I am a casual gamer who plays for fun and I am writing this review based on my own experience with the game. I would ideally give it a 9.5 but that is not an option. Hence the 10.

    I am splitting my review into 3 sections. Gameplay, graphics ad Story. The story section will contain major spoilers.

    1. Gameplay:
    Overall, there were some major improvements to the gameplay compared to the previous game. For a major portion of the previous game, the goal of the player was to find the fireflies. Every time we got closer to the goal, a sick twist of events would push the goal a bit further and we were forced to play on. Only in the final act of the game, there are a bunch of twists and turns that shifts the focus of the player from the main story and throws in some variety. A good example of this is the part where Ellie is kidnapped by the Cannibals.

    This is completely different in part 2. This game is split into smaller missions and each mission has smaller goals along with one final mission goal. This made the gameplay experience more engaging.

    The game also throws in more variety by adding more uniqueness to various enemy types. There are some new infected as well as human enemy types and each of them engages with you differently. If you are someone who likes to take a stealthy approach, you can overhear the conversations of the human enemy types and sometimes they are really interesting. I also felt that the map design of this game encourages stealth more than the previous game. Engaging with the enemies in combat is also great fun as you get to handle a larger set of weapons while you play as the 2 different characters in the game.

    The game has many environmental puzzles you had to solve to open safes and locked doors with loot behind them. The environmental puzzles were not very hard to crack but you would easily miss the looting area if you don't make a conscious effort to look for them. The puzzles you had to solve to open safes were repetitive but fun.

    I did find the guitar portions mildly annoying, but it was connected to the climax beautifully. So I will give it a pass.

    2. Graphics:
    The outdoors were beautiful and breathtaking whereas the indoors were rich and filled to the brim with details and easter eggs. The game lets you play in a multitude of settings like lush grasslands, forests, swamps, burning village, stormy sea, shaky sky bridge etc. to name a few. The top-notch graphics used to render these environments in detail makes the game more engaging and fun. The game sometimes gives you areas to walk around and explore and appreciate the beauty with no threats around. The character animations for combat, restocking, upgrading weapons etc. were also extremely detailed.

    3. Story: (spoiler alert)
    In short, it is a story of 2 people that are thirsty for revenge against each other and how their lives are impacted by it.

    Joel, the fan-favourite protagonist of the previous game is killed brutally within the first hour of gameplay by a character called Abby who is this game’s antagonist. This lets the player take control of Ellie on a 3-day adventure to track and kill Abby. During the course of these 3 days, you come face to face with allies of Abby. As a player, you get to kill these allies one by one in typical videogame fashion.

    Finally, when you come face to face with the antagonist, the game decides to play a cruel joke and makes you play the 3 days again as the antagonist. Although this portion might not succeed in making players like the antagonist, it helps you get a better understanding of how Ellie’s actions of the past 3 days have impacted Abby’s life. The game reserves some of the better action sequences for this portion of the game as a way of bribing the player to complete this part of the game. The cruel joke continues as the player is forced to beat up Ellie to the last inch of her life while playing as Abby.

    Eventually, the player is given back the control of Ellie so that we can get our long-overdue payback. At this point I was itching to get my hands on Abby. The cruel joke continues as the game presents me with the opportunity to get my revenge but at the same time, it manages to convince me to not wanting to do it. Until this point I was eager to beat the S**t out of Abby, but when I was supposed to ‘press square repeatedly’ to get the kill, I could not get myself to do it. Ellie uses the final bit of goodness in her vengeance filled psyche to show mercy to Abby. Abby rides away into the sunset. Yes, the antagonist kind of wins.

    The game then ends with a scene involving Joel that manages to further elevate our love for our favourite protagonist from the first game.

    Verdict:
    Apart from a few plot holes, I thoroughly enjoyed the emotional roller coaster the game took me on. I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys a work of fiction that emotionally manipulates you. Others might not enjoy this.    … Expand

    Undisputed masterpiece playful video of all time (for me of course), soundtrack hit the spot, full of feeling hate and pain, it seemed to see a movie where you empathized with every single character you knew going forward with the story.
    they connected very well the end of the first chapter with the second, I twisted my nose a bit with the introduction of the second main character at the beginning but then I understood the reason for this addition (abbey)

    ellie cannot kill abbey because she can empathize with her even when she has killed her "father". she sees joel in her, abbey saves lev and ellie remembers that figure as if she were joel ... fantastic!
    Well what to say I'm sorry I finished it ...

    Those who give this gorgeous game a low score, referring to LGBT propaganda, simply did not play it. Thanks to the developers for the tremendous work and effort. I got unrealistic pleasure while playing this game. Tears welling in his eyes. Buy and play. For her sake, you should even buy ps4.

    Naughty Dog has taken a big risk this time around, guiding you on a journey of grief, rage, and consequence from multiple perspectives. While many may not like NDs decision to pull the old MGS2 switcharoo, it is important to remember the themes of this title. I think I great deal of whether or not you will enjoy this game rests upon how willing you are to empathize with both Ellie and Abby.

    In the days since finishing this game I haven't been able to come up with any other games I can compare the story of TLOU2 to, certainly none whose story has stuck and resonated with me quite like this one. It is extremely disappointing to see the vitriolic brigading leveled against this game, and I sincerely hope this doesn't deter Naughty Dog from taking risks like this in the future.

    TLOU2 was a masterstroke in game development! The story is a phenomenal growth from the first (which I was also a big fan of) and the most emotionally demanding story in any game I've played. The game mechanics never faltered to support the story by offering a grittier and more difficult combat experience this time around. Honestly just a 10/10 game.

    Story is focused on Ellie and Abby (now being the 2 main protagonists).

    Naughty Dog did a wonderful job on giving 2 different perspectives on the same matter, with the beginning of the game being very Extreme with Joel’s death in my opinion this serves as the main fuel for Ellie’s action. These actions would be crucial for story line and also character development.

    Gameplay and graphics are the best so far on the “consoles scene”.

    So even if story line isn’t appealing enough for you, the gameplay is definitely fun.

    Visually impressive, The Last of Us: Part II is a unique, dark, violent and brutal experience that makes us question what separates man from the animal. A masterpiece that Naughty Dog delivers to us at the end of the generation and that we, the players, can only be grateful for.

From the start we knew this was going to be ellies revenge story so for everyone out there that said we were misled or lied to is just upset about what happened in the game. trailers do not mean everything is happening in real life could be flashbacks or dream sequence which was the case. This game is the best looking game ive ever played from a graphical and mechanical stand point. If theres one thing i would change about the game it would be not having to play as a certain someone just didn't do it for me but other than that game was and is spectacular. The game play is far better than the first its smoother, movement is smoother, shooting is fun and the enemy variety is always fun. Realizing that the enemies you face have names and people that care about them and even the infected were people at one point is admirable. The absolute BEST part of the game is the world building. The environments are always fresh and even though you play the same 3 days in the same city as Ellie and Abby the city is always full of surprises and the areas are always breathtaking. The collectibles have interwoven stories to tell and all of them are worth the time of reading. I loved the story much more than the first, something I've come to love and respect about Naughty Dog is telling a story no other game is telling. Every negative review talks about how they disagree with the characters decisions. This isn't your average Ubisoft game, this a story about characters that live in a world that could happen at anytime, and those actions that they make are far-fetched because people "can't feel connected". Yet we see what happens every year on black Friday in the US, please. The emotions that the characters have and the voice-acting make me actually feel this world rather than just stare at it. Each protagonist struggling with fears and PTSD is incredible. Playing with Abby made ME afraid of heights in the game, i struggled with those parts and it was the best. Please don't ;listen to the negative reviews, open your mind, devote about 28 hours to this masterpiece and I promise you'll understand and see.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm sorry, but the story of this game is brilliant. I simply cannot comprehend how people say it's bad. I think a lot of people can't get over Joel dying. There is a difference between something that you don't like happening in a story, and the story being bad.

    The Last of Us 2 brings another point of view to the table. A point of view in which Joel isn't actually such a good guy. He did things in first game that weren't that great, he killed a lot of people for selfish reasons. This game shows us BOTH points of views, Abby's and Ellie's. We see a lot of character development from both of these characters. Their stories intertwine and we realize that they are... almost the same. They both went looking for the same thing: revenge. Only to find out at the end that it's just not worth it. All that came from that revenge was pain, and death, and loneliness. I found it super interesting the way they told the story from Abby's perspective. I liked it. It shows us the world isn't always black or white.

    The game also shows us a lot of flashbacks. The moments shared between Ellie and Joel were simply wholesome and beautiful. The last flashback we see at the end shows us Ellie was angry at Joel after she found out he lied to her. She would have prefered to die to find a vaccine, she said that that way her life would have had a purpose. She ends up telling him that she doesn't think she can ever forgive him, but that she wants to try. That was the last time they saw each other. In my opinion this is what made her look for revenge. It wasn't because of Abby, it was because of herself. She didn't forgive him before he died, and that was eating at her inside.

    The end is bittersweet, but I really liked it. My interpretation of it is, when Ellie returns after sparing Abby's life, she finds out everything that she's lost due to her hunger for vengeance. But to me it really feels like she is... finally at peace? It feels like she finally forgave Joel. And at the same time, forgave herself.

    This game is simply a 10 for me. As I said, I really enjoyed the story. But the graphic aspect of it is simply outstanding as well. The music, brilliant. The characters, brilliant. The gameplay is very similar to TLOU1, but it's still fun and it works. They made some small changes that were needed as well. I don't know, maybe I'm just too positive, but I personally couldn't find any flaws in it.    … Expand

    Der zweite hat größere areale, also bietet taktisch mehr Möglichkeiten. Die Figuren sind großartig geschrieben und inszeniert. Die KI ist fordernd. Feinde Kesseln dich ein, flankieren dich.     The last of us part two is basically the marmite of gaming, either you're going to love it or hate it.     I thought the story was divisive, but I absolutely enjoyed it ! The gameplay was very smooth, and I thoroughly thought it was a masterpiece all around ! It's another Naughty Dog classic!!

    The Last of Us was probably one of, if not the best game of all time (in my opinion), so naturally I was insanely hyped for this game, probably the most excited I've ever been for anything in my life, even more than Endgame. I also made sure to avoid all spoilers and leaks as I wanted to go in relatively blind, apart from watching a few trailers. I pre-ordered the game as soon as I could, first game I ever pre-ordered in my entire life, so the second the game arrived in the mail, I immediately dropped everything and cancelled all my plans for the next few days to play it. I began installing it and jumped right in as soon as it finished installing. 4 days and 22 hours later, there I was, sitting on my couch processing what the hell I had just played. After a day of letting it marinate in my brain, I have come to the conclusion that this is one of the most incredible and emotionally brutal games I have ever played. Let me break that down.

    STORY:
    This is one if the best story games I have ever played. I love everything about the story and would change none of it. I think it stacks up perfectly to the first game and gives itself a reason to exist. It continues the game beautifully and smoothly, into a harsher, and more threatening world. It develops the complexity of its characters with writing and situations that is probably some of the best writing I have ever seen in a videogame. I have no complaints at all about the story.

    CHARACTERS:
    Now, I know this is a touchy subject so I'll do my best to not piss anyone off, but I think the choice to make Abby a parrallel protagonist to Ellie was an absolutely genius choice, executed flawlessly. It showed that neither of them was good nor bad and that they were both as bad as each other, as well as they were both the villains in their eyes. So at the start you hate Abby, but then learn to understand her and what she did by seeing her motivations and reasons. I think Dina and Jessie were well introduced characters and I loved both of them as well as most new characters introduced in this game (except Seth). The game also brought in old characters like Tommy and Maria in a smooth and satisfying way. I think killing Joel early in the game made it so the game could focus on Ellie and her emotional journey, giving Joel the backseat, save for a few flashbacks. The characters have incredible dialogue and development and I loved all of them, as evil as a few of them were.

    GAMEPLAY:
    The gameplay in this game is extremely similar to the first game, but more refined and a little less clunky. The controls were greatly improved and I loved the fact that Ellie had her own knife so I didn't have to keep crafting shivs. I also love the new fight animations and the fact that you can now dodge melee attacks. I liked how looting was a more central part to the game as well as exploration. The fact that they incorporated some more platforming elements from the Uncharted games but they didn't make it too superhuman, helped create immersion and made me love the world more than I already did. My only complaint, was that the stealth kill animation for Ellie's knife got pretty tedious to go through towards the end of the game. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the refined gameplay and controls as well as the new fresh elements introduced.

    GRAPHICS AND TECHNICAL ISSUES:
    This is one of the most beautiful games I have ever played, up there with Uncharted 4 and Red Dead Redemption 2. Every little thing is very detailed, from large, vine-covered, collapsing buildings to the tiniest blade of grass. Each character model's face had insane photo-realism and incredible animations. The acting was incredible and officially the best I have ever experienced in a videogame. The environments were amazing and very well thought out. I loved how the game would occasionally drop the player into open environments to explore and discover. I ran into a couple of weird bugs but nothing huge or game-breaking. The lighting, shadows and immersion were innovative and beautiful. I loved ruined Seattle and Jackson as well as Santa Barbara at the end. CONCLUSION:
    This is definitely one of the best games I have ever played and I just do not understand why its getting completely nuked by negative reviews. I can see the flaws but at the same time, I love the game for them. Final review: Play the game. Especially if you like the first game. You might not like it, but you should still have the experience to remember.

    Also side note but, I saw a bunch of things talking about trans characters? I guess this may be referring to Abby, as from a certain angle she lookes a bit masculine but I never thought she was transgender. TL;DR: I love the story, love the characters, love the world, love everything. Please play this game.

    First of all, I would like to say it has been my favourite video game until today. I have finished it this morning. Graphics are incredibly developed to show all the gore acts and landscapes, getting little details inside a semiopened world, perfect for this type of video game where I didn't want a huge map but, at least, a little bigger than the ones used in the last of us 1.

    The different messages used by the director are incredibly polemic and underlined by our today's society unacceptability . We are allways annoyed by any little thing again our point of view and I think this perfect.

    The couple of lesbians, the development of different revenges, friendships, love, lies, growing as human beings, everything showed from a very realistic perspective... One person is not always good but also, he or she is not always bad. That hue of black and white is fantastic, achieved incredible well here.

    Moreover, this video game breaks with the typical formula of having only one group of heros, creating the perspective of the main enemy and I love it. I love it very very very much. Because of that, my favourite character is Abby and not Ellie or other one.

    The story was the last of us and it wasn't Ellie and her daddy.

    I felt really bad the first time I played with Ellie and I saw the death of Joel but, in the end, I understand he was an awful murderer and he deserved to die as he died because of his past actions.

    As I previously said, there aren't a good or bad side and that is incredible.

    You can enter inside a lot of stories, knowing the development of different characters until their deaths. And yeah, it is crazy, everyone dead, but we are in an appocalyptic world and it is almost impossible to live for a long time.

    After the end scene, we will not know if Ellie will live another day or if Abby and Lev will find the fireflights or another violent group. However, that creativity to surprise me and enter inside the feelings of every single character, entering inside the shoes of everyone is brutal for me.

    The playability is increbidly better that it's antecestor. Crawling, with more types of enemys, different types of scenarios adequate to the fight, more difficulty, more objects and weapons, etc.

    Sincerely, I don't understand the amount of bad critics and hatter received by this video game. Of course, this is not the game and the plot that someone will imagine. But that is the point and the beauty of this beast.

    I played the last of us 1 one week before the second one. Because of that, I don't have any type of nostalgya and with that in mind, I mark this video game with a 10 because the first one was a 10 for me and this one is better than the first game without doubt. And why? Because this plot not only touches the story of Joel and Ellie, but that story and other ones like the one of Lev, Abby, the goddes (who I believe she is the mother of Ellie and because of her inmunity she was proclaimed as a god for that community, she is white-skinned and the same colour of hair), wolves mates, lev's family, Isaac, jacksons, etc.

    I want to congratulate nauthydogs for this title and thank them the 35 hours of gameplay in the tough difficulty. I really enjoyed this game and wow, we have to be more humans and this is not a game for ever type of public. Very bloody violent, an adult plot, different from the other ones, without superheros, and with a lot of incredible details and scenes to make you feel the feelings of the characters behind the screen.

    Brutal and Bravo!

    This is a real videogame with all the letters and I will wait for more like this one.

Если из этой части я вынес много полезного то смысл первой до сих пор не понимаю. Одна только завязка дала мне столько эмоций сколько не дала первая часть и все эти люди которые пишут что персонажи слиты и т.д просто не вниклись в атмосферу игры. А новые персонажи интересны и завлекают из за чего за них переживаешь. Вобщем игра мне понравилась больше первой части.     I loved this game from start to finish. Each "chapter" was a step-up from the one before it. Almost everyone agrees the gameplay and graphics are outstanding. However, for me, the story is the best thing about this game. It is moving. It is different. It is not the good-guy-kills-the-bad-guy cliché. You see the story from the perspective of the person you think is the bad guy. It makes you think about the consequences of the actions you did in the first game as the "hero" of that story. It makes you think a lot. Both Ellie and Abby lose a lot as a result of this cycle of violence, which Ellie decides to break at the end. It's a story of love, hate, revenge, and forgiveness. When Ellie was drowning Abby at the end, I was saying to myself please Ellie, don't kill her. I was glad she didn't. I might've shed a tear or two. I found both Ellie and Abby to be wonderfully well written characters, two sides of the same coin..I absolutely dispised Abby to begin with but by the ending i needed her to survive. The supporting characters Dina and Lev were wonderful, fully fitting in with their companions with ease. And making you root for them to be the positive influence that both Ellie and Abby needed.
    The accessibility settings blew me away, I'm fortunate that I can play without them but the fact that they are so intensive means this game is truly accessible to nearly ALL gamers. Cant wait to jump back in and start it all over again... once I've recovered from the emotional rollercoaster that this game delivers.    … Expand

Last of us part 2 has to be the most ambitious game I’ve ever played it took huge risks in some people’s eyes that means the game sucks, in my opinion it was the most emotional unexpected journey I’ve ever had playing a game. It’s a shame people are trashing this game without even playing itI don’t know what I was expecting with a sequel to my favourite game but it definitely wasn’t this.     Не слушайте тех кто говориь,что в игре только ЛГБТ-повестка,ведь это не так.
    Игра очень хороша,а сюжет неплох,а геймплей еще лучше.

    The most creative integration of narrative unto gameplay I have ever seen. Haven'y been this involved in a story since Metal Gear Solid 4 I think.
    On the technicolor level, game is arguably one of the best ever.
    There is seriously nothing to hate here. The story is not bad, it just makes you feel bad, for several reasons. It'a powerful message.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
