    The Last of Us Part Two is a flawed masterpiece. The gameplay is very polished version of the first game and is absolutely incredible. The game has some of the best graphics you can get on a console game. The story is very good if you just give it a chance. At times the pacing can be poor, but overall it's a very good story!

    I dont know, this game for me is not good..
    1.Graphics; 10/10 - is really good 2. Gameplay; 6/10 -nothing special same forumle after 10h is repetitive . Story; 3/10 but story line is not good, for me is really bad, i don't like it, is not because day J. or LGBTQ characters is just really bad for me. 4.Fun; 4/10 this is how much I enjoyed it in game.

    One of the best games I ever played. And I played many, many games. You have the feeling that every character is a real person with real personality. And I must say, I loved that whole Abby thing.

    Amazing life experience. It's probably the most realistic game I have ever play, a grim reality. Were people are humans and commit mistakes that they regret by time. It's not the tipical Hollywood plot where heroes are good and villians bad and the hero always wins and does the right thig. That is why all the hait, many gamers are not use to this tipe of stories.

    Gamplay is tight and responsive, with thrilling and sometimes straight panicking moments, but in the studios efforts to make the story shocking, it falls flat, and becomes a generic revenge story which isn't bad in itself, but the way it was executed and written leaves A LOT to be desired.

    The stealth aspect of the game and the A.I. of the enemies remain still very well implemented. This leads to some very interesting battles and epic fights. Most of the times intelligent and tactical planning is what’s required, sometimes you just need blazing guns and every resource you can find to survive. Item crafting possibilities have been expanded to some degree. Some new enemy types have been introduced.

    While playing the game, I did experience doubt and aversion at times about the directions the story pushed me in as a player. That being said, in the end it all made sense. At the end of my first playthrough, I understood what the writers were pointing out to and what insights they meant to provide me. Taking such bold moves and choices in the storyline to implicitely deliver the messages (eg. revenge will get you nowhere) deserves credit. Especially since the game’s story works as a mirror to you as a player. It challenges your own feelings and dispositions. I therefore think the storywriting is actually quite solid. Just like the first game the story delivers an emotional experience and at times really pulls you into it. In comparison to the first game, the story arch is a bit less straightforward and deliberately split up into two distinctive parts and timelines. Therefore it can be a bit more confusing than the first game.

    Graphics are simply stunning and pushing the ps4 to its limits. Sound design is brilliant. Especially when playing using a headphone, new levels of sound details can be found.

    Finally the designers have put lots of effort in accessibility of the game for people with visual- or other physical impairments.

    Of course the games also has some flaws: some of the fights can become a bit tedious and repetetive, especially towards the end. Also, I think the game could have been a bit shorter. Yes I mean that, 20-25 hours max would have been just as fine. On some occasions there were some dialogues that were either unnecessary or took a strange turn. At some points characters popped up or left quite suddenly with no good or believable explanation.

    All in all I honestly think this game deserve a very solid 8 at least. Pushing it to a 9 here to compensate somewhat for the unfair review bomb, mainly based on leaked footage and people    … Expand

    If you like the game play for LOU 1 then you'll be happy with this game. However, if you're going in expecting to love the story, then I guess it all depends how "open minded" you are. Personally, it didn't do it for me. I was disappointed. I couldn't care less about the new characters and really just tried to ignore the story and played as if it were some random survival game. A lot similar to the first game but with more different moves such as jumping in the air to kill an enemy below and more. Weapon upgrades as well as skill upgrades are also nice and great with character mannerisms. When it comes to story, well just like the first game is a masterpiece. The new cast of characters are just as well written as the ones before, each presenting different sides of Ellie & Abby just as much as the world of The Last Of Us. It is definitely a dark story but in a way that is a fitting sequel, the writing in this game at first glance looks quite risky but it works. Showing in depths Ellie’s regression throughout the game as she becomes the immoral man some call a monster, Joel and Abby as she finally finds her father’s murder believing killing him would end her pain but no a part of regretted what she has she done and kills another part of herself as she carries her guilt which at first even goes further and reach Yara & Lev as seen in her dream, but she is able to find her way in the end with Lev, this is her redemption arc. Ellie struggles to live and not do anything about her Father’s death so she goes on a vengeful journey eliminating all WLF members that entered Jackson before until she reaches Abby. I love how they tease us the players with a happy ending for both Ellie & Abby and just get swept away fast reminding us this is The Last Of Us. For Abby and Lev is the rattlers getting them outta nowhere and torturing them and for Ellie her PTSDand Trauma gets stronger and stronger eating her soul but then Tommy arrives reveals where Abby is and Ellie goes out one more time for Revenge in the end she spares Abby because she was able to resist and see Joel and herself in Abby and Lev as well understands why she did this in the first place. Ellie still has her humanity, she realises this is not what Joel would want for her, he would want her to be free forgive let go of him and move on. She comes to the conclusion she went this path trying to be like him and it did no good for the people around her. I Hope we get a Part III where is about Ellie’s redemption arc. Thank you Neil Druckman and the whole team behind this, already beat the game twice right now on holiday can’t wait to get back home and play through a 3rd time but on Survivor this time.… Expand

The feeling of “connecting the dots” reminds me of Shutter Island starring Leo DiCaprio. The first time around, it’s kinda confusing until the big twist comes. But if you decide to go for a second watch, everything starts to mean something more, and you see all the inter-woven stories a lot better.

    And with such a high quality game, why wouldn’t you want to play it again (besides the emotional trauma and sadness it’ll probably give you)? It’s outstanding in every way. Story and Characters? Excruciatingly Amazing and Human. Extremely immersive. Will probably leave you sad, hollow and empty by the end.

    Gameplay? A smoother, more refined and expanded version of the OG TLOU’s formula. You can be a lot more creative with this one. Melee Combat and Gunplay feel and play amazing and Stealth gives off MGSV vibes.

    Technical stuff and Presentation? Top. **** Notch. The graphics are straight out of a PS5, save for the 30fps. The level design? The closest to perfection so far. Acting and animations both in-game and cutscene? The best we’ve had, bar NONE. World Building thru collectibles, dialogue and the subtle details in the environment? On par with, or maybe even better than, RDR2. Polish? Very few glitches and no game-breaking ones.

    My personal Game of the Year and Generation, and arguably my favorite game of all time, in contention with Part 1 and MGS3.    … Expand

    It's slighty above average. The graphics look amazing and the atmosphere is thrilling, but the gameplay feels clunky at times. The biggest flaw of the game is the story. Too many plot holes, accompanied by decisions from the main protagonists that make little to no sense. If you are a fan of the first game and love it (just like me), then i would advise you to buy it but at a discount.

Joel's death was anticipated from the first game, taking the fact that he basically butchered entire groups and some survivor would come to take revenge. The problem is that could've been done better than setting a game because a pointless npc from the first game died at the end. Abby's character is a problem in many ways:
    1. a woman would not look like that in a million years without steroids treatment 2.everything she is doing is pure psychotic, and it represents that this character has seriously mental issues
    3. Her companion, Lev(Lilly) is annoying just because screams : I'm a boy not a girl, please accept me! A good character is known for it's personality, not for sexuality. The last part with the rattlers is totally pointless : Ellie abandons it's girl for an old revenge story but when is about to kill abby she stopped because, joel wouldn't do the same thing, forgetting that we talk about a guy that butchered an entire military group to save her life.    … Expand

    I do not understand the toxic trolling here. This is about as much fun as I can have playing a video game. The story is great but it’s the gameplay - a total masterpiece of gameplay. I thought I had completed it at one point and when what I thought was the falling action kept going into another act, I was like - sweet! More!

    If you loved the TLOU, you will be very disappointed playing TLOU2. You are not allowed to control the choices being made at critical points in the game. The game takes control of your actions at those critical points and makes it feel more like an interactive movie than a game.     The graphics and game play was great, but in my humble opinion its not worth your time. This game is a glorified over hyped polished turd. I wanted to love this game so bad and gave it a lot of thought before posting this review. The developers try so hard to manipulate how you feel in this game that it just comes across as deceptively cringy at best. I strongly believe a game should let the player decide for themselves at critical moments in the storyline and have a choice to act and feel the way they interpret the story.     The ugly side of gamers turn their head once again. They can't handle a lesbian protagonist so they find every possible excuse the reviewbomb this awesome game. (Not saying all of you who gave this game a bad score did this because of this reason). I for one finished it and thought it was really good. Better than the first one? I'm not sure but certainly close.

На фоне новостных заголовков рассказывающие нам об очередных политических перипетий, как в России так и в США, рядовому игроку будет не легко воспринять сюжет игры правильно. Игра буквально ретроспективно провела параллель с реальным миром, где игроки ещё до выхода игры составили свое мнение о ней по слитым спойлерам, на эмоциональной волне составили о ней мнение и тем самым "отрезали" для себя возможность прочувствовать всю сложность человеческих отношений среди персонажей в игре. И действительно не просто пережить практически в самом начале игры смерть (да и ещё такую жестокую) главного персонажа первой части и придется приложить немало усилий для того чтобы принять этот факт и выяснить что послужило причиной для смерти Джоела. И честно если опустить детали то в конце игры становится понятно мотивация каждого главного действующего лица. Если вы сможете принять смерть Джоела в самом начале игры и абстрагироваться от политической войны в интернете (воспринимать игру не через призму политики и предубеждений) то вы сможете получить удовольствие от игрового процесса и проникнуться сюжетным повествованием.
    Стоит также отметить что игра не выказывает никакой моральной оценки происходящему в ней.    … Expand

Talking about the animations probably the best I have ever seen in a video game. However, I don't play games to watch 6 hours of cutscenes with cool animations, you know there is something called movies/ tv-shows for that. The plot is soo pathetic(I don't care about Joel's death or Abby super muscles)... complete sequences of random dramatic events just to show how bad the revenge is...Oh yeah I know it's revenge and violence circle, with Abby and Ellie trapped in it...OMG, it's soo original, I have never read or played a game with revenge circle as plot(sarcasm). I think this plot is perfect for people with low IQ, probably they have never used their brain or read a book in their life.., and playing a game with this type fo plot make them feel somehow intellectuals.… Expand

Technically and mechanically the game is a masterpiece but the story is where it falls flat with writing plagued by the direction of one sole person's vision and zero character consistency from the first game's build up.Truly a throaway of previous narattive efforts

    Easily one of the best games I've ever played. So emotionally investing and intense. I've seen so many review (bombs) on here claiming the story is bad. Haha what? Y'all are either trippin' or trollin', because the story/acting/Acton and horror is all top notch.

    Congratulations to naughty dog for another masterpiece.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. With a bold and daring story decision, the last of us part 2 challenges the player to look at the other side of the same coin.

    Abby is debuted in a brutal hateful way. The game over time proceeds to asks the player to understand, to walk a mile in another’s shoes and see everyone has a personal struggle. If it wasn’t Abbys story, it could have been any one related to the other thousands of people massacres by Joel in part one.

    This game isn’t perfect, but it tries something new and daring for a game of this caliber. It’s a shame the internet hate mob couldn’t get past the fact that there is lgbtq representation and a woman with large muscles. A compelling and challenging story,
    Greatly improved gameplay from part one,
    Next gen graphics on current gen system,

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us Part II is one of the most endearing and thoughtful games I ever experienced. It made me laugh, it made me cry and it made me feel terrible inside.

    1. Gamplay:

    The gameplay is a step up from the first game, stealth, weapons and looting feel more natural. The difficulty is nicely adjustable, I like to challenge myself, but also don't want a game to feel like a chore. In certain sections however I got frustated with the looting / crafting system, since I had everything fully stocked and couldn't pick up more which didn't satisfied my inner horder and also got me frustated when I actually DID use my ammo / crafted items and after such instances missing them for about three stages after. Moving in the game either by foot aka prone, crouched, upright or even sprinting, felt great and often times created exciting momentum when in combat situation.
    PLUS! The swimming / diving sections didn't make me want to scratch out my eyes or throw the controller away, so that's an improvement.

    The vehicle mechanic sometimes felt lackluster other times exponantially good. The boot section in Seatle Day 3 with Ellie felt tedious at times, the exploration on horseback Day 1 however incredible.

    2. Level Design:

    Overall the level design was well structured and the different set piece impressed me. Manueviring through Seatle either as Ellie or Abby never got boring, although from time to time I caught myself thinking: "OK, where's the hole in the upper wall I have to climb to progress this section?"

    The levels ranged from small, one way streets to open fields, full of potential gameplay / gameplay style options. I have to admit, at one point I even got lost on bigger stages and ran around aimlessly until I finally looked up or the game's assistent actually told me where to go.

    3. The game's look:

    The Last of Us Part II is gorgeous to look at. It definitely looks pretty at it's worst and stunning at it's best. From beautiful fields to gritty dungeon like buildings in Seatle. My only complain would be that I kind of got tired of Seatle's look after Day I Ellie until Abby's Day II. Everything was just masses bleak, gray buildings overgrown with green grass. However in terms of storytelling it does makes sense. I wish we could've played more different set piece than Seatle and then like 4 hours of Santa Barbara. I thoroughly enjoyed the beginning parts in Jackson as Ellie and Dina on Patrol and also the farm around the end of the game in term of enviromental design and change of setting.

    And now onto the big, controversial point.

    4. The story:

    I loved it and I am still processing everything that happened even after weeks of finishing the game.
    Let me tell you, I knew that Joel was going to die and I accepted it. Truth be told, I was never a fan of Joel as a character per sé. I loved him in Part I not because of his personality alone but because of his interactions and his care for Ellie. Although, I have to admit, I loved Ellie from the her first appearance and in my opinion Ellie always had been the protagonist of the games since the start, Joel, even though I played as him in Part I, felt more like a side character next to Ellie. Her story, her experience in the TLOU universe was the point of view I cared about.

    And oh boy, Ellie's journey in Part II broke my heart over and over again, leaving me a crying mess at the end of the game. I felt like Joel seeing "my baby girl" being torn apart by her actions and her grief made me suffer and hate everything that happened to her. I empathized with her, a fictional character, to understand how she could just go on and on even though she was clearly hurting herself and everyone around her the whole time. At the end of the game I got the feeling Ellie after Joel's death sought revenge on Abby only to punish herself for not forgiving herself and Joel for their own actions.

    Abby as a stark contrast I actually didn't like that much from the beginning until the end. I didn't care much about her friends, her life or her struggles, however I cared about the people she wanted to protect. She changed over the course of the game and in the end I wanted her to succeed in her plans of finding the fireflies not for her sake, but for her companion's - Lev.

    I like that the bait and switch from Ellie to Abby after being confronted by her in the theater on Day 3. I actually looked forward to see her experience losing her friends one after the other I got to kill as Ellie.

    At the end of the game I didn't want either of those women to die. Just rest and be happy again for god's sake.

    The only thing about I really disliked was the last chapter in Santa Barbara. It felt tagged on and rushed and I didn't get enough info on a new section "The rattlers" to satisfy my need for world building.

    Overall I recommend this game and advice to empathize with it's characters struggles and inner thoughts    … Expand

I do love this in every way possible, gameplay looks fun and innovative, graphics looks so sharp and lush, as for the story i loved how it goes from the last point of the first game and how it ended without anymore bloodshed, Ellie did good by letting Abby lives, and she did right by Joel in my opinion, as of inclusion of LGBQT+ i see it doesn't affect the story at all, my rate is still standing at 10/10 Masterpiece game.… Expand

But the Story is not only illogical, forced and just wrong... Its not really "good" either. The only emotions I had while playing it were attached to characters I know since part 1. In the least spoiler way I can say - there is a period in the middle of the game where I legitimately wanted to stop playing because I didn’t want to play as the character I was in control of. However, a couple hours later, I became really invested in the story and new perspective. Visually the game is stunning. Gameplay is incredibly solid, though it is quite violent at times. I’m not a squeamish person, and I still found myself cringing at times. Overall, this game is truly an emotional experience that makes you THINK. So many diehard fans out there are saying that the studio has ruined their favorite characters, and I just really don’t buy that. Just because the story didn’t go the way you expected/hoped based on your dreams of a sequel doesn’t mean it isn’t a perfectly crafted story with fully realized and developed character motivations. Play this game. Sit with this game. Experience this game. Don’t let the negative reviews scare you away.… Expand

Концовка понравилась. Не все так однозначное в ней, но вызывает эмоции, а это хорошо.

    Если говорить про геймплей, графику, физику и вообще про все, что связано с проработкой игры то это 10/10. С головой погружаешься в этот мир.

    The vast environment, graphics, soundtrack, combat style and gameplay, the crafting, the story, the voice acting!!..
    Everything about this game is just top tier. I'm glad ND didn't go full "fan service" regarding the story, otherwise we could have had just a "mediocre" narration, and a    I don't think a "perfect" game will ever exist, but this is as close as a game could ever get!

    - Abby kills Joel because she is butt hurt about her daddy getting killed(even though a cure would do nothing)
    - Ellie kills people then feel supper bad about it(displays human emotion rather than irredeemable malice)
    - Abby kills people and feels nothing at ( they have pet doggies to make not seem like a murderous psycho
    - ends on note that revenge is dumb and achieves sweet fresh air

Originally, I hated Abby and wanted nothing more than to get revenge. But as you progress, you come to realise she is very similar to Joel. You come to care about her, so that when you get to that bit in the cinema, your emotions are all over the place. The game was visually stunning, great audio track and good action sequences. But for me, the real experience was in the progression of the characters and the realisation that there are no good people in this post apocalyptic world. A remarkable achievement in a game. I'm astounded at the poor reviews on here. I think people are missing the whole point of the game, which is a real shame, because I think it's a masterpiece.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. O jogo é muito bom e vale muito a pena, tem o melhor gráfico que um ps4 pode entregar uma trilha sonora nota 10 e jogabilidade nota 10, mas algumas partes da história precisão ser analisadas com mais calma e com menos ódio.
    O sentimento sobre a morte do Joel foi estranho, mas ele tinha que morrer, sua morte traz muito mais valor para a história já que ele não é mais o mesmo, na cidade ele não estava mais sobrevivendo e sim vivendo.
    Jogar com a Abby mesmo entendendo o motivo dela, deu uma raiva, medo e desespero só de pensar em acabar gostando dela. A briga dela com a Ellie quase me quebrou, ainda mais por me fazer bater na Ellie, foi difícil.
    Ver a Ellie na casa nova com a Dina e o JJ foi um momento de paz.
    No começo foi difícil entender como ela podia ter deixado tudo aquilo para voltar para sua vingança, mas ela precisava daquilo, ela estava quebrada por dentro e aquela foi à forma que ela encontrou para se perdoar e para superar a morte do Joel.
    Acabei não tendo mais tanta raiva da Abby, mas ainda não chego a gostar dela, não só pelo que ela fez com o Joel, mas principalmente pelo que ela fez com Ellie, a Abby por não superar a morte do pai, sofria muito e mesmo assim não se importou se matando o Joel causaria o mesmo sofrimento em outra pessoa.
    Um exemplo desse sentimento no jogo é mostrado durante os pesadelos da Abby, ela voltava para o meso corredor que acabava na sala onde o pai dela foi morto, ajudando aquelas crianças ela finalmente se livra do pesadelo encontrando o pai dela vivo na sala, superando assim a morte dele.
    Com a Ellie acontece o mesmo um corredor que acabava na sala onde o Joel foi morto.
    E depois de perceber que matar a Abby não ajudaria em nada, já que ela matou todos os amigos da Abby que estavam envolvidos com a morte do Joel, e mesmo assim não amenizou a dor e sofrimento dela. E também só criaria o mesmo sentimento no Lev se ele sobrevivesse.
    No fim, por perceber tudo isso ela tem uma visão do Joel em uma varanda tocando violão, fazendo com que ela poupe a vida da Abby.
    E assim acredito que a Ellie acaba se perdoando pela forma que tratou Joel e acaba superando sua morte.

    Em minha opinião The Last Of Us é nota 10, por me trazer tantos sentimentos novos e por criar vários pontos de vista diferente.    … Expand

    One of this generation’s defining achievements. Slick, versatile combat/stealth mechanics. Impeccable visuals and world-building. Masterly use of tension and release. Some of the best voice acting in gaming. And a gripping non-linear narrative that pushes the medium forward.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I finally got around to finishing the game about a month after its release and I made sure to stay offline and avoid all spoilers. I was truly surprised to find such negative and hateful user reviews online. I thought the game was beautiful.

    My one gripe is the major halt in the story when you switch characters mid-game. I feel like there could have been a better way to structure the pacing there, that was very jarring. But these negative reviews saying a "political agenda is being pushed" or that there is blatant disrespect to established characters. None of this is true.

    If you got to the end of the game and were unable to see that literally every character is the villain in someone else's story, you missed so many points. If you're a hateful person and you think the fact that there is a trans character or gay characters means there's an agenda being pushed on you, grow the hell up. I feel sorry that you're THAT insecure to think someone is forcing an agenda on you. This game simply shows the humanity in every character, shows our own personal biases (some more so than others, clearly). I hated Abby at first, but the more I got to know her and her story and her OWN personal tragedies I realized Joel was the villain in her story. She was driven by the same rage and obsession than Ellie was later driven by. It's disheartening that so many people missed the point, simply because one of their favorite characters died. Sometimes the Ned Stark character dies, everybody. Play the game, decide for yourself. Don't be swayed by online incels and bigots.    … Expand

    Beautiful game which unfortunately suffers from some severe pacing issues particularly in the second half. Would have liked the two halves to be more connected and filler to be significantly cut down. Ultimately the ending ties everything together well, but im not sure how I feel about the more thematic approach of 2 vs the character based story of 1.

Games like The Last of us are supposed to be story driven and unfortunately the story is very muddled, weak and definitely not what most fans of the 1st game would want.     Overall great game. I understand the arguments against it being good but I had a blast. Gameplay can get a bit stale but they keep it interesting enough to not make you hate it. Story was very emotional, took me a while to finish it because it just kept draining me so if you have some serious depression this may not be the best game.     I thoroughly enjoyed TLOU part 2. The presentation, gameplay, and story were all top class. I truly hope the Devs are not put off by the butt hurt gang, who can't handle a storyline that challenges their sensibilities, and deliver a 3rd installment.

    One of the best games I've ever played. The gameplay may get tiring at times, but the story overcompensates for it. They managed to do a unique take on the revenge theme and bring something new to the gaming industry. Absolutely loved it.
