And not only did Joel get killed, but they make you play as the character that kills him.     Итого суперская игра с офигенной графикой и звуком, отличные спецэффекты и отличный сюжет . Без подробностей , ведь подробности испортят процесс прохождения игры . Культас респект , но резок к игре . Kinokiller респект, но ты ее не прошел .

    This game is a master-crafted work of art. From the largest of environments to the smallest of details, the artists and developers ensured that nearly every aspect of the world created received a surprising amount of attention. The world that they visually created feels lived in and helps the player feel grounded. The movements of the characters, the npcs, and how assets around both alter when interacted with is phenomenal and is often overlooked in most games. Examples of this: the way snow, dirt, mud, water moves when coming into contact. The way the aforementioned gets onto the characters' clothing and persons. How the environment acts in general: streams of water falling down are altered depending on wind physics, reflections appearing on reflective surfaces like walls, tvs, metal piping, zippers moving when in motion, clothing moving with the wind. All of this comes together in harmony to masterfully present a truly realised world that is believable and a joy to experience.

    Story:
    No spoilers. I'll say that the story is not as tight or singularly focused as the first. That's not a bad thing, but it might be if a player is going into the game expecting a story that is very similar to the first. There are flashbacks and whilst they do provide relevant backstory and are of interest, I can see how some might find the placement of the flashbacks to be a bit jarring at times and may not be as cohesive to the story-telling as one might like. Overall the story is a good one that invokes a lot of emotions. It is rife with depressing, difficult moments along with moments of lightheartedness and humour. In general and by the end, you do end up feeling a connection with the characters of the story. Even the minor ones, and even the ones who you thought you never would.

    This is a wonderful experience that took me nearly 38 hours to complete as I, a lover of the first game, enjoy the world of The Last of Us and don't mind taking my time with Ellie and the gang. I definitely recommend.    … Expand

No. However Naughty Dog has created an excellent story that tells of damaged people who will go to extremes to protect the ones they love, even if that means killing those loved by others. It’s sad, it’s difficult, it will probably bring out emotions as few games can, but it’s necessary to tell the story of past decisions that have consequences. Then to top it off, Ellie has a chance to kill she-beast and her little girl minion and doesn't because revenge is bad. Hey Druckman, why wasn't revenge bad when she was killing Joel? **** game, waited 7 years after the masterpiece that was the first game just to want to kill myself for having wasted money on this ****… Expand

    Интересно, как много людей были просто не готовы увидеть другую сторону медали, и показали свою истинную натуру...

    I've beaten the game about a month ago. Still, I can't help it but think about the storyline all the time. It's amazing how bold and incredible this game is. No words can describe this better than "An emotional roller coaster." 10/10

    i wasn't fan the first part this game. But after playing in second part i became him. Screenplay, graphics, gameplay are all on the wonderful level. My respect for developers.

Intense to say the least.I think, put simply, the polarisation that the story created reflects the IQ gap within the gaming community. If you can't separate your illogical emotional biases from the fictional characters and, as a result, think the plot is "bad", you're low IQ. The Last of Us 2 was a huge disappointment. And I have a lot to say. The game was a beautiful and entertaining game. I had fun wondering around Seattle. And the opening of Jackson. But I am really disappointed with that I was sold on a game by the trailers shown and ended up with a different game entirely. My problems with this game is completely the story and the narrative it decided to tell. Right off the back 30 minutes into the game they kill off one of the most important characters of the Franchise. Joel! I was sold on a story I thought was going to be another adventure with Joel and Ellie dealing with their conflicts from where the first game left off. Instead I got a game that felt like It was a shove into the mud on a rainy day. Instead I got a game that was a false glimmer of hope of trying to gain justice and ended with more tragedy than triumph. I absolutely did not feel anything Naughty Dog was aiming for. And maybe it was just poor execution. But right after joel died all I wanted was to get vengeance and justice for his death and I was IN for that. But it kept dragging on and on and eventually you get into these missions where I feel like the game was trying to make you empathize with the Antagonist. Which is all well if you hadn't killed off an important character too soon. After that all I felt was lust to kill Abby. And I completely did not care for Abby's friends. Nor the kids she cared about. During all of the Abby drama. I just felt like I wanted her dead, her purpose meant nothing to me. And I was just trying to rush through her story to get back to trying to kill her. And then when you finally got back to it, You are let down. Ellie let's Abby Live. She finally could of had justice for Joel. And Ellie let her go.. How big of her. But that's not okay for a player who wanted to get justice served. Maybe others feel differently. But I was not happy at all with that decision. And to make it worse. Ellie lost some fingers sl she can't play the guitar Joel gave her and she lost everything. Dina was gone all of her belongings were put into one room just to be left to be forgotten. And that hurts. Joel dying was not the reason I was angry at this game. It was that it felt like the game didn't want to continue where the first game left off. Sure it did! But in poor poor flash backs just to establish a bunch of meaningless characters for a future game. It just felt like a huge disrespect to the first game. Unfortunately Just like this game. I will also leave it to be forgotten. I am just disappointed. Huge fan lf the franchise and my love was killed and I feel like the first game is meaningless now. Hopefully Part 3..if there is a part 3 ..makes up for what was unfairly done. I just hope I'm not sold on a game I won't get.… Expand

    The Last of Us 2 is a technical marvel that pushes the boundaries of cinematic gameplay blended with masterful storytelling. The game will leave you emotionally drained in the best way over the course of around 25 hours, during which you will be forced to make hard choices and reexamine your own personal morals.

    Probably one of the worst games I've played. Yes the story is bad and naughty dog has made a terrible decision. But alot of the problem is gameplay. The gun play feels like the same terrible 3rd person shooter that they've been doing. It feels like uncharted 1 still. Or even worse it feels like days gone

    One of the greatest games of this generation.
    I would have eliminated 4 or 5 hours of unnecessary gameplay, but the narrative, gameplay mechanics, graphics... are breathtaking.
    I seriously can't understand the problems with the narrative, the caracteres are human 'till the bone, the development of these is great... Dark and raw. Real.
    Without a doubt, the game should have gone on sale years later.

    tl:dr - story needed to be executed better, ending sucked. gameplay is great.

    hope naughty dog makes a new IP after this game. i think we have exhausted the world of last of us at this point. i know they wanted to get real dark with this game but i eventually got akame ga kill vibes from the story when it comes to characters deaths.

However this is one of the best games I have ever played, the graphics are absolutely insane, all of the acting is perfect and you really believe in every character and side character. This is a game that wants to make its audience uncomfortable, something that few storytellers will do nowadays. This isn't another game that just has you mindlessly kill every faceless enemy in your path without consequence. Sure, you do have to slaughter just about everyone, but the game pretty readily shows you the consequences of your actions and that the enemies you kill are real humans. The Last of Us II has some of the most horrifying and simultaneously incredible shows of violence on a great scale I've seen in a video game, scenes that you walk through and think "Jesus, this is horrible and beautiful". The gameplay itself is much of the same from the first game but improved, stealth has more options and combat feels even more brutal. Less of the boring physics "puzzles" from the first game involving pallets and ladders. Anyone with an open mind and understanding of the most basic storytelling principles should ignore the 0/10 reviews, avoid the spoilers, and give this game a try. To say the game is anything less than a 8 is not being honest. I played it in its entirely and can honestly say that I enjoyed it as much as part one. The graphics on the PS4 pro look amazing and makes me feel good in which the directionI was curious as to why so many users scored it so low, then it dawned on me that they are salty because it did not turn out the way they wanted it to be. To say the game is anything less than a 8 is not being honest. I played it in its entirely and can honestly say that I enjoyed it as much as part one. The graphics on the PS4 pro look amazing and makes me feel good in which the direction sony is going in. The story was very interesting and I have no problem with them switching things up. There was one of two things that happen in the story that I wasn't a fan of but it doesn't ruin the story for me and overall I enjoyed the story.     On the positive side, the graphics are great and the combat system is really good but this is nowhere near enough to compensate for the utter failure in direction, writing, plotting,    Laughably terrible game. But the plot is absolute Bull crap. Ellie's whole revenge story makes no sense and the way they killed joel off within 2 hours of the game is just stupid, wrong and horrible writting. First, The characters. Ellie acts like the freaking female version of sasuke uchiha throughout the whole game and it doesnt make anyone want to play as her. Dina doesnt even need to be in the story its just cringey teen love. Jesse was a decent character just to get freaking shot in the head 2 seconds within walking through a door. Tommy is Just.. ugh.. Joel doesnt even act like joel. After years of experience, you'd expect him to be smart enough to not trust strangers, especially in this apocalyptic world. Speaking of apocalyptic world, The whole god damn story is all about Ellie getting revenge on the people that killed joel, Massacring All Wlf, And Scars that stand in her way. So the infected play no god damn role in this game. The fights are useless and not fun at all. Okay back to the characters. Abby, The she hulk herself.     The Last of us Part 2 pushed the industry in a new direction. The amount of emotions I felt playing the game was something I never felt before and for that alone I recommend the purchase of the game. The graphics are amazing and gameplay is similar to The last of us 1 however everything is turned up to a new level.

    This is an absolutely incredible game. The haters can hate all they want. I do understand why people would not like a game like this game. To play half the game as the person Ellie is supposed to kill is difficult. But the conflict which I experienced inside my own mind was nothing like anything I have experienced. I think this sets up part 3 beautifully.

Just like the first game this game left me thinking, questioning and wondering about the characters choices, motives, mindset, actions and future outcome. I was left wanting more from the story.

    I made the choice to view the spoilers before release to confirm if certain rumours were true such as the character Abby being transgender, Ellie and Dina being killed by Abby, playing the end half of the game as Abby and the BS naughty-dog agenda of trying the shamelessly push and fit their SJW beliefs into the Last of Us universe. Although I took the risk of viewing heavy spoilers I was glad that I
    watched it as I discovered most of the rumours were not true and to no surprise I realised the pushers of these rumours where morons who assumed by the Abby characters appearance that she was transgender and ran with it.

    Although playing the game knowing the spoilers made playing the first chapter of the game less impactful I still enjoyed the experience and was worth playing from beginning to end.

    Knowing that the game is about hate I feel the stories focus was authentic and fitting to the last of us universe.

    Although I didn't like that Joel was killed and so early in the game when I look at the bigger picture I understood that at least from my perspective the last of us universe is a dark, brutal, violent, destructive world with high stakes, high risks and highly dangerous events and encounters and combined created a deeply violent but highly complex, unique and special character like Joel.

    I could not say he was a hero in the first game but I could understand why he made the choices he made. I just see him as human, someone who tried to avoid but ended up naturally bonding with Ellie in their original journey. I feel I can't judge him for caring so much for Ellie to kill anyone that would end her life for a possible vaccine to save humanity.

    From the first game I would always wonder why a character like Joel would fight so hard to just survive in such a bleak, depressing and dangerous world with very little hope of change especially after losing his daughter Sarah. A character with so few morals (which I can't blame him for living in that world) would fight, kill and slaughter everyday just to survive another day and I just couldn't understand what was his drive or motivation to continue fighting in that world.

    Whatever his motivation was it lead him to meeting Ellie and he eventually found someone worth living and fighting for and did not want to risk loose that. He had no regrets in robbing Ellie of her choice to end her life for the possibility of a vaccine.

    I feel Joels past action were wrong, selfish and immoral but I can't blame him for making those choices. At the end of the day I feel he was a product of his environment. However I understand that Joels actions had consequences just like in real life. Joels choice to save Ellie sadly came at a cost of Abby's father being killed in the process with many other fireflies. It was inevitable that Joels past actions would catch up to him eventually and I could understand and except Joels death by Abby for revenge. I only wished his death wasn't so early on in the game as I would of liked to see more of Joel settled in Jackson along with Ellie, Dina, Jesse, Maria and Tommy.

    I understand that their where more backstories for some characters that where cut from the final game which was a shame as I would of liked to learn and know more about existing and new characters introduced in this game especially Joel.

    I liked playing as Ellie in the first part of the game but at times felt the pacing was slow and tedious but the gameplay and encounters kept me engaged. I really like how well the relationship with Ellie and Dina was crafted and wanted to see more of Dina with Ellie on her Journey to kill Abby.

    When it came to playing as Abby I initially felt fatigued and had little interest in seeing her world from her perspective. I did not dislike her for killing Joel as I understood her motives for it however I did not like her choices made in the the process of killing Joel. I hated watching Abby being saved by Joel before she kills him. It reminded me that Joel was a good person and Abby witnessed that and still killed him.

    I felt it was unwise of her to bring her team of friends to help her find and just kill Joel. This one person. In such a violent world it just felt unwise to take the time to risk your lives on the hope of helping Abby to track down and kill one person. It was also risky and to leave Ellie alive after killing Joel.

    It was obvious that Ellie would track down Abby and her friends for revenge and I had little empathy for them when Ellie killed them all especially Mel. I hated Mel the most. Why would anyone in that world get pregnant? and her choice to join Abby in killing Joel while pregnant and judge Abby for it made me dislike her character.    … Expand

The story is original, and truly leaves the player with a message. The acting is great, and is helped by the incredible animation. The boundaries this game pushes are astounding. The portrayal of ellie and dina's reltionship is beliveable and makes the player love the characters even more. Abbys half of the game begins as a painful struggle, but the player grows to love abby as well, leading to a painful choice. It forces the player to examine themselves and whether they have the ability to cope with loss.

    Игры типа TLOU2 - уже даже не игры, а фактически игровые фильмы, т.к. на видео вставки приходится чуть ли не половина "игры", тем самым такие вещи, как геймплей уходят на второй план, а на первое выходит сюжет, и графика. Начнем с простого - графика. Она бесподобна - модели персонажей невероятно реалистичны, виды города завораживают, детальность с которой оформлены здания в игре поражает. Играешь в игру, а кажется как будто смотришь кино - настолько всё реалистично. Великолепные закаты, очень реальный дождь. Когда прячешься под дождем в траве от врага, который идет в двух шагах от тебя прям сердце замирает, чтобы только он не посмотрел в твою сторону. 10-10

    Теперь самое сложное и противоречивое - сюжет. Как я уже сказал, в играх такого характера сюжет - история - занимает центральное место, и если он написан криво, то игра будет провалом. Первая часть рассказывала нам трогательную историю развития отношений взрослой девочки и сурового мужчины в жестоком постапокалиптическом мире. Ну кто, пройдя игру, не влюбился в отважную Элли и мужественного Джоэла? От второй части, разумеется ждали не меньше. Но вот девочка выросла, превратившись в девушку. И здесь лежит камень преткновения. Я думаю уже незачем скрывать под спойлером - те, кто будет это читать либо уже играли, либо наслышаны - Элли оказалась, как бы это сказать, нетрадиционной ориентации. Если честно, когда две женщины или девушки целуются при просмотре фильмов определенной категории это как бы возбуждает, ага. Но вот во всех остальных случаях, честно говоря, смущает. Я не мальчик и многое повидал, но вот при том поцелуе в начале игры (кто играл - знает) я себя почувствовал ... как бы это сказать ... неуютно - КРАЙНЕ неуютно. Я это к чему - вот не сходится трогательная история и СЖВшные мотивы. Ну никак не сходится. Хотя с другой стороны - о чем могла бы быть эта история? Опять о Джоеле и Элли? Но Элли выросла, какие у них теперь могут быть отношения? Я не могу себе представить, чтобы Джоэл вновь опекал повзрослевшую Элли. О любви Элли ... как бы это сказать ... гетеросексуальной? Уже заезжено сто раз, получилось бы ещё хуже. И всё таки СЖВшность прям прёт из каждой щели. но всю игру не оставляет ощущение, что вот что-то нам навязывают, какие то взгляды, какие то убеждения, что реально портит всю картину. Несмотря на ложку дегтя в бочке меда мне понравились истории и Элли-Дины и Эбби-Оуэна. Эти истории пересекаются, переплетаются и дополняются вставками из прошлого. 7-8 из 10.    … Expand

    Cons: Characters are so unlikable it made me apathetic to what happens to them. They tried hard to make me sympathize but most of the dialog makes me roll my eyes or cringe. Story is your typical 'revenge is bad'. Writing seems thrown together by people who have no idea there is a first game. I legitimately didn't have joy playing some parts almost as though I was just forcing myself to get through it. I had high hopes when I saw Abbys character in the trailers and they crushed my excitement for her. The infected are not a main focus at all which is one of the only reasons left for me to like this game.

I bought the game with the expectation that I´m gonna play with my favourite characters. I have no problem with the ending, with the decision to kill Joel although I was not really happy about it but it was understandable why abby did what she did...BUT playing with abby the second half of the game? I was really pissed off and I was even more pissed off when I had to fight against Ellie...If I knew this I would not buy this game for full prize...My bad that I successfully avoided all leaked spoilers... + the fake trailer with Joel going to help Ellie on her journey? and instead of that we are forced to play with abby and fight Ellie...? TLOU2 is truly a masterpiece of storytelling, not a game for kids or teens, not to Because of the violence but because of the story and the context, it's a grown-up story with a mature theme. It's a story about revenge for the absurdity of it, around superbly written and fleshed out characters.

    I didnt enjoy The Last of Us 2. With that being said I didnt enjoy the 1st one either that much. The graphics are phenomenal. The voice acting is good. The story is fine, it shows two sides of a story. They should have chosen a different direction in my opinion but you could say that about every game and every movie made that is fiction. They do that to perhaps make the game more challenging or perhaps to be "realistic"? B uh t if realism is what they are going for then I need to buy me the tape they use that fixes bats and pipes. Is the game stealth or an action game? What's the identity? Seems to be stealth because you're not given enough bullets to make it an action game which I would have enjoyed more. For long periods of time I am knelt down behind something hiding and watching movement patterns. That's what the game is designed for but doesnt hold my interest. I'm left to decide on how to rate this game? Do I rate it based upon do I think Naughty Dog executed their plan well? Do I score the game based upon do I enjoy the game? Either way is fine but I feel you should let others know the basis upon which your review is made. My review is from my perspective of what I enjoy. I didnt enjoy this game or style of game. I do however think ND designed a good game and the Developers are talented and if you like these types of games then it may be great. I just dont feel that way. I was bored and wanted more action. I dont care for 1st person shooters I enjoy 3rd person adventure games with plenty of action. This game did not deliver that for me.… Expand

I loved the variety of areas to see and the length of the story was more than double the first game. Some may complain about the length as dragging, but it honestly feels like two games in one and I took my time playing it so it never felt particularly dragging for me. I was really happy to get such a complex and lengthy story out of a Naughty Dog game where most of them are significantly shorter.

    I absolutely loved the game. I really don't understand the criticisms of the story. It's a story of revenge and the actions of the characters lead you down a brutal path that leaves you feeling conflicted about them and that's intentional. People complaining about Ellie's actions or the other character you play as seem to be ignoring the actual underlying story or something. I really liked the second half of the game where you switch to Abby and see her perspective on things, her own personal drive for revenge is nuanced and her allies that Ellie ruthlessly kills get their own level of attention that shows they're not all horrible or evil, but just humans trying to survive like Ellie. I loved the world-building and getting to see from the perspective of the bad guys (both the WLF and Seraphites).    … Expand

However I can say without any doubt that this game MUST be played if you want to se how the feeling of revenge can bring human being to madness. I liked also how Naughty Dog created some scenes: I had a huge sense of anxiety when Abby had to face all those Clickers, Runners and Shamblers in the destroyed house with Lev and Yara. Recommended for everyone who likes emotional plots.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I feel as though I'm in some kind of alternate universe to everyone else playing this game. I found it gripping from start to finish. To those saying there is no character development, I am absolutely befuddled. The writing of both Ellie and Abby is stellar. Ellie begins transfixed with this idea of revenge, much like the player does. But then Naughty Dog forces us to play as a character designed to be hated. They are taking us out of our comfort zone, which is what an emotionally compelling story should do. They tasked themselves with the seemingly impossible job of lifting both the player and Ellie out of this spiral of hatred, revenge and self-destruction. And not only did they manage to pull it off, they did so all while staying grounded and true to the characters. I truly think it rivals the first game in terms of its storytelling and I feel distraught for the fans who did not enjoy it in the same way I did.… Expand

    This game definitely dont deserve such a bad user score and it really tells something about users on this platform when Ghost of taushima have user score like 93 and Tlou 2 53. The only thing I’d like to say about the game is: the first part is still among the best games I’ve ever played on PC, dendy, sega, ps 1,2 etc. My feelings for the first part are completely opposite to the feelings about the second part. I don’t really care about all this lesbian and transsexual stuff. I don’t like it, but who cares what II don’t want to put any spoilers in the rating. The only thing I’d like to say about the game is: the first part is still among the best games I’ve ever played on PC, dendy, sega, ps 1,2 etc. My feelings for the first part are completely opposite to the feelings about the second part. The success of the first part is explained by the narrative and relationship between main characters. The view on the problem of “lesser evil” and readiness to sucrifice what you love in favour of the rest the people. The second part proposes us the possibility that despite all hatred one can find strength to forgive the opponent. It may work but not in the way it was realized. I don’t care about graphics and I don’t really care about gameplay but I do care about plot and storytelling. Zero out of ten for spoiling one of the best games.… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
