But this is just a bad LGBT + women rights/warriors (with all respect to the women gender, i meant those who want to make women superior to men) hidden agenda. A great immersing graphics with bad story. I need no one to tell me the death of Joel was necessary for the story (it was for the agenda cause). There could have been billion stories instead of this. A waste of great effort for a poor story. Perfectly ruined.… Expand

    Extremely good story, people are just mad because they can’t accept that the story went where it went. This games takes you through an extreme emotional journey, and teaches you great lessons on grief and revenge! Play it and accept the reality, just like with life. Then this will be something real special.

    There is only one The Last Of Us...

    Graphics are amazing, but graphics aren’t everything in a game, and just Like Diablo 3 was a major let down, last of us part 2 is also, so i will not preorder it if there is ever a third one, probably will just skip it, as they will surely just kill Ellie and let her remain rot in her own pi** and s**t or just not talk about the first 2 character that make the first game so great.

    This game was about Abby the Joel killer, and nothing about the first 2 characters that we loved so much.

    And why would i want to play the fu**in* character that kill one of the main protagonists... i just want Abby dead WTF...

    the game is an outstanding piece of art. it is a dark story and sometimes too dark and hurtful as it was supposed to be in the first place. it's not at all a fun game but you will enjoy he amazing game play , and it teaches a lesson. it is not just a simple GAME, it's definitely more. the last of us part 2 makes other games look bad and simple. remember : you better play it on survivorthe game is an outstanding piece of art. it is a dark story and sometimes too dark and hurtful as it was supposed to be in the first place. it's not at all a fun game but you will enjoy he amazing game play , and it teaches a lesson. it is not just a simple GAME, it's definitely more. the last of us part 2 makes other games look bad and simple. remember : you better play it on survivor and survivor+. and yes some characters are lesbian and some muscular ladies, so if you are simple minded don't play.

The first half of the game is beautiful, the Flashbacks are nice, the Flashbacks tell us how the relation between Joel and Ellie is every time worst, but the second half we control Abby, the villian. This part is funny but I would've like that they would've do this with Ellie… Expand

    What this game (and its predecessor} have achieved is phenomenal. It's greatest strength is undoubtedly its character work - the voice-acting, the stunning graphics and the dialogue draws you in seamlessly, until you are so utterly invested in the characters that when one is killed the shock reverberates. It not only informs the plot, but also your own visceral reaction (just take a look at all the knee-jerk venom from other reviewers here and you'll see what I mean).

    It feels much too contrived to call The Last of Us Part 2 a revenge story. It's too multi-faceted for that. There are threads of grief, redemption, failure, insecurity, guilt...it's all woven into the same tapestry.

    The game mechanics are almost flawless - I played on a PS4 Pro on a 4k screen and could find very little to nitpick. Visually - astounding. I don't have the best sound system in the world so sadly I can't comment on that as much as I would like to.

    Don't be swayed by reviews - keep an open-mind and delve in. I genuinely can't understand how anyone could fail to be impressed by this masterpiece of a game,    … Expand

    No podíamos esperar una "historia feliz", Joel privó de la cura a la humanidad por alguien a quien veía como su hija, era lógico que habría consecuencias. Es una historia muy cruda, como se supone serían nuestras vidas si algo así ocurriera en la vida real. Neil se atrevió a mostrarnos las dos caras de la moneda, nos mostró el por qué de los actos de Abby, y tal vez a algunos de nosotros nos hizo empatizar con ella. Lo más fácil hubiese sido darnos un "final feliz" con Ellie y Joel teniendo una vida "normal", y desde mi punto de vista, hubiera sido muy cliché y probablemente eso si hubiera arruinado la historia. Para mi TLOU ll es un juego de 10 y supera en muchos aspectos (por no decir en todo) a su antecesor, que dicho sea de paso también es una joya.    … Expand

The game is masterpiece in all the departments, be it, story, gameplay, graphics, AI. There's no aspect of the game, that doesn't shine. It really shows how much of an effort Naughty Dog must have put in.     fantastic game, well done Naughty Dog. You guys come through at all times since the Uncharted series. Loved how you shook it up for a truely desirable story that does not follow traditional story telling for the weak minded people out there who bashed this game. Way to leave it open for a possible trilogy.

    I feel like I was force fed food that I hate throughout this entire game. I have no empathy for the new characters. I waited several years to see Ellie and Joel grow as father and daughter; I didn't wait all this time for whatever mess of a game this is. You rolled the dice, Naughty Dog, but you bet on the wrong characters.. I'm gonna pretend this game is one big nightmare Ellie has.

I didn’t think I’d like certain parts or characters, but Naughty Dog brought them to life and made me fall in love with them. The majority of the bad player reviews are review bombs.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After playing and beating TLOU2 I came to the conclusion that I can never get excited for anything else again. Thinking that naughty dog was about to release an absolute banger I played it and my god that was 23 hours of pure misery. That ending has left the worst taste in my mouth far worse then Game of Thrones. Ellie was so unlikable in this game opposed to the last, Dani I think is one of the worst written characters in the history of fiction being told. Jesse was an awesome character whom they get rid of a little less then halfway through the game. I’m not gonna rag on Joel aside from the fact that him following into the church is almost a direct contradiction to everything Joel told Ellie in the first game. The only part of the entire story I liked was how they tied Abby into the fireflies and why she killed Joel (although I didn’t like her killing Joel) the next naughty dog game I will not preorder I’ll have to wait for it to come out before I consider purchasing one of their titles again. I really hoped some people enjoyed it but 3/5 of my friends who have beat the game have borderline hated the ending and the entire story. I thought people were overreacting to the games story before I had beat it but I’ve seriously never been so disappointed, crushed and sad in my entire life by a game being so utterly ridiculous.… Expand

The game was supposed to be about Ellie's revenge and she wasn't even touched by the best parts. For me, the best part of the game was the journey to the hospital, the fight with the boss monster and the chaos on the island of the Scars. But all of this was played by Abby! The creators of the game are not newbies to make a mistake like this with the script -.- It does not even seem like the story of Ellie or Joel if not of any other.… Expand

    The game requires you to have an open mind while playing, and if it you do, you'll end up with a beautifully constructed, entrancing world. Gameplay is smooth and epic, and the story is different in almost every way. The main reason people don't like this game is because it isn't the same a part 1, and while it might not be, that doesn't make any less of a masterpiece.

After Joel is killled and you are forced to play his killer I felt many things: disappointment, anger, disgust, betrayal, and sadness. It wasn’t just the fact that Joel was gone. It was that you are this character for half the game... and you have to beat the **** out of Ellie with this character... then so you are forced to feel anything positive for this character they force you to see the backstory of people you are killling as Ellie. The directors/writers trying to “teach” us that even the “villains” are human and maybe were created this way felt so disgusting... they could have created a new game with new characters for this wasted idea. This is upsetting me to the point I can’t even finish my point.. but trying to make people dislike characters we grew to love in the first game by way of a forced story isn’t a great, and will only make us hate you for it. It’s like if all the sudden we play a new uncharted game and we kill Nathan Drake then play as his killer... no one wants to do that. These devs literally crapped all over fans with this one. The game is good in my opinion since it handles different mechanics and varied game modes, in relation to the story it seems to me that Joel's death was a justified reason, soon after in the story they show us the climax that is when Abby reaches the theater where Ellie hides and shoots Jesse, it seems to me that they did it wrong, since we started with the story of Abby, the emotion of the moment was taken from us, not like the last of us 1 who in his climax kept us with that constant emotion.
    but the rest of the story is good and has a justified ending that left more than one shocked.
    I end this by saying that this game from the beginning said it would be dark, and this was reflected from start to finish.    … Expand

I get it, I am also mad about What happens to Joel, but still all this stuff add on feeling experience into the game. Play the game with a feeling of vengeance, but later on seeing the other side of the coin and again the whole concept changes. Abby has been exactly through the same **** as Ellie . If I’m the previous part we played as Abby we would hate Ellie in this one. Which other game affect your feelings so much? The graphics are stunning, story is crazy and sad with emotions, good aiming controls and exceptional . it has everything a game needs, Thank you naughtydog and Neil Duckman. I really hope there will be a third part although by then I’ll be already over My 30”s. I’ll still play the game… Expand

    Моя фатка не везде справлялась и местами вылезали непонятные пиксели. Где-то Элли застревала в дверях. Такие мини баги были, но это фигня. Детализация в игре просто поражает. Просто представьте, я заваливаю бегуна, а у него их кармана падает коробок с патронами (я это вижу буквально), ну и подбираю его. Или как девчонки, забирая патроны из другого оружия, берут именно магазин. Таких крутых мелочей в игре пруд пруди. Механики
    Именно играть стало гораздо круче, чем в первой части, именно из-за новых механик, вот это вот ползком, просачиваться, забираться, очень круто. Как же круто с луком играть в этой части, только восторг. Крафт стрел, маленькие логические задачки с веревкой, подбор цифр к сейфу без знания код, определяя правильный выбор по щелчку, кайф. Сюжетик

Элли не могла пережить эти события, жить с постоянными кошмарами, флэшбеками и видениями средь бела дня, вспоминать о любимом человеке только в последние секунды его жизни, уверена, мало кто смог бы. И вот она получает ниточку, которая может привести ее к освобождению от этого всего, которая может все закончить. Но в процессе, в самом конце, она вспоминает что-то хорошее и наконец сама чувствует освобождение. Игра дикий класс, даже без этого мяса из нулей, я бы все равно поставила игре ну минимум 8-9

But the worse is the characters. The main characters exist to prove points, they are there for the writer's convenience. During the gameplay, it gets even more evident that politics were behind the creation of this story, and that characters were molded into stereotypes so that that story could be written. The secondary characters are entirely forgettable.
    I finished the game only because I don't like to leave stuff undone.

    An amazing meditation on the cost of blood feuds and the peace in ending it. As with the first game, this one is in a league all it's own and i cherish experiencing the journey ND clearly put so much time, talent and love into making.

    Es una obra de arte, para mí, un punto por debajo de su primera parte que fue LA OBRA MAESTRA.

    Such a wonderful game with a good graphic and story. the gameplay gets a pretty drastic improvement from the first part, and also the detail of the game was amazing.
    Good job Naughty Dog! looking forward for multiplayer mode and part 3.

    Excelent gameplay! A clear improvement of 1st game.
    Marvelous narrative rarely seen in any media, characters are presented in a more human and realistic fashion than the great majority of games, movies and TV series.
    One of the best games of all time! A must play for anyone who’s not a limited gamer (the one that plays only sports, multiplayer and any other type of brainless games)!

Very excited for the future of games. No one can argue this. When it comes to the story, Druckman clearly was clearly trying to push a political agenda. Very cringe and does not belong.     Score, gameplay, acting performances, mechanics - all nearly perfect and had the game at a 9/10 for me. First 10 hours of the game with Ellie was incredible, but the Abby story was always going to fall short. The theatre encounter between Ellie and Abby was just abandoned for 10 hours and gave the player this deep sense of dread when we returned.

    To conclude, if depression and emptiness was the mood the Devs were shooting for, they genuinely have achieved it. I just think it's sad we couldn't playmoree of what we fell in love with, Joel and Ellie. The flashbacks on Ellie's side were gripping and some of the best parts of the game. The Abby ones were completely non-compelling. Looking forward to a DLC hopefully and eventually the third and fhopefully final chapter in what will always be an incredible series.    … Expand

Not gonna lie, the ending could have been summed up in a bow. Monsters should have tripled in the overall game.     This game is actually really good! I get that SOME people might not like it, but the majority of bad reviews are from salty babies. Most of whom probably haven’t even played the game. It is extremely fun, and yeah it is made me feel all different emotions. The game though is great, and you should definitely play it for yourself!

I absolutely loved this game, sure the ending leaves you numb due to its unexpected nature but the graphics and gameplay are absolutely amazing. Once you start to understand the meaning behind the story as it explores the true impacts of revenge the story and the way you progress makes a lot more sense.

    Again I loved this game and I don’t really think it can be compared to the first game, as this game aims to cover topics far different to the first in a much grittier and bleak setting. This game has had such a big impact upon me and will do for some time to come. I finished it over a month ago, but I still can’t stop thinking about it!    … Expand

    Thoroughly enjoyed the game, not perfect by any means but the story was bold and refreshing, in a time where storytelling has been diluted by predictable Marvel-esque writing. My main complaints were slight inconsistencies carried over from the first game's narrative and some insignificant pacing issues. Other than that, it was perfect for me, I loved it.

Всех предала и свалила в другую часть страны, где вляпалась, как последняя тупица и в конце еще и выжила, уплыв на лодочке в туман! Шикарная история!

    А какая мораль? Хочешь отомстить? Собери команду побольше, и когда карма решит вернуть тебе должок, они все подохнут, а на тебя уже запала не останется.

    Отличный персонаж и история построенная исключительно на удаче! Бог из машини на каждом шагу! Нашла Джоела - удача. Умирала в петле, но выжила - удача. Нашла Элли - удача (вот валяется карта, где кружочком отмечено где искать). Умирала на столбе, спасли - удача. Уже почти утопили, но убийца передума - УДАААЧАААА! Что там на удачу едят? Клевер? Она походу в перемешку со стероидами его жрала.

    My new favorite game. Played through twice already and love everything about it INCLUDING the story, which is fast paced, thoughtful. Almost all the characters are compelling. I, unlike some, thought Abby was a unique and thoroughly interesting character, and hope to learn more about the rest of her story

    I remember, when the main gameplay bits first started to leak; the kind which didn’t need any context to matter, yet it was the kind to infuriate most of the gaming community. With extreme dexterity, I kept myself away from the spoilers as I had already ordered the game and was eagerly awaiting the release date. The recommended videos on my youtube home page didn’t help however, as many videos started to be titled as “The Story of an Angry Lesbian” and “How to Not Make A Sequel”. The video titles were not wrong; well atleast the first half of them. You see, The Last of Us Part II IS actually the story of an extremely angry lesbian - but how one’s sexuality can affect the game’s outcome is beneath me. The other half of the youtube video titles however, soon turned out to prove themselves to be wrong, as this proved to be (atleast, for me) the greatest sequel to any game ever.

    The Last of Us Part II is a story of vengeance. In fact, I think it is the greatest story of vengeance ever crafted. It’s the story of Ellie and her hunt for blood following the events of the first game.

    The game takes off at around a couple of years later from the incident with the Fireflies. The game constantly pans out and off from the current time period, showing different scenarios of the past with the aid of time stamps. TLOU2 shows us a blood thirsty Ellie in an ageing world. For events that stirs up at the beginning of the story, Ellie goes on a hunt for revenge and takes down everyone who seemed to be a barricade. >Detailing:
    You cannot ever depend on firearms and only truly learn to depend on the usability of your trusty switchblade and stealth. Drops of ammo and supplies becomes rarer with the rising difficulty and the experience that much harder. There are workbenches to upgrade your weapon and safes to ravage from. Whenever you want to craft something or apply a medkit, you need to do so manually, which teaches you to utilise every fleeting moment in an encounter or a battle. In these tiny, yet evolving manners, The Last of Us Part II always holds the attention of the player. It’s almost unfulfilling ending reminds me of my favourite tv series’ and once again sets the bar for “cinematic experiences” in games to a whole another level. This is not the sequel we asked for, but the sequel we needed. >My History With The Franchise:
    I first played The Last of Us back in 2014, in my PS3. A year later, I bought the remastered edition on my PS4, to try out the DLC. It was amazing; it had the most consistent character development, borderline thrilling storyline, an unique gameplay and just the overall aesthetic of the game was appealing. The Last of Us had one of the most fulfilling endings in any game I played, yet from the moment I finished the game, I was eagerly waiting for a sequel. The next year, we were blessed with a reveal trailer, and the waiting got more and more hard to deal with. Before the date of release, I feared the game would be terrible. I was sad, as I already had ordered the game and was badly waiting for the release date. It was a delight to see my fear being proven >Why I Love The Game:
    The Last of Us Part II loves testing the players by putting them in tough situations. I often found myself staring up above to the sky, looking for a high building or navigating for the sunset or spotting the ferris wheel. I only did those, to get around. There is no HUD map, and that’s how it should be. TLOU2 likes to show dominance as a survival post-apocalyptic game, and it does in every chance possible.
    Combat is absolutely terrifying. You can light up entire hordes with dynamite pointed arrows, explode blood hounds on your trial with land mines, take hostages as their friends cry for their life - kill their friend first and slowly kill your hostage as he/she begs for their fleeting life. Instead of watching the same animation for stealth killing someone, you’re blessed with gruesome scenes of Ellie puncturing her enemies’ throats as their blood soaks her clothes. Instead of fighting every infected in the area, you can stun them sharply and run for your life. Instead of going in with blazing guns; you can take up stealth and execute it a score of different ways all while your comrade follows your lead. These are all new to the series, as in the previous entry all we got was sadly monotonous gameplay compared to its sequel. The point is, the best looking game on the PS4, also is a ton of fun regardless the blood ridden storyline.

    The graphics of the game are breathtaking, the amount of detail and the atmosphere are top notch. The cut-scences of the game have a nearly cinematic feel and the voice acting, motion capture are the highest quality in video games. So, on a technical level, this game is a perfect 10/10.

    The problem for me is the gameplay. Don't get me wrong, the stealth gameplay/gunplay are very well done and it makes a lot of fun to outsmart your opponents, at least the human ones. I can't stand the infected encounters though, the AI is pretty dumb at points and everytime I heard the sound of a clicker, I frowned (I have a deep hatred for stalkers too cause they make so much more difficult to stealth your way through the encounter and are just a huge pain overall). But this wouldn't be a problem if the game wouldn't stay out of its welcome in 25-30 hours of playtime. For such a long game, the gameplay is much to repetitive, especially in the later part of the game. The developers should have cut out about a third of the game or make the gameplay more versatile towards the end to make this a game a more balanced and overall interesting expericence. During the last 10 hours, I just tried to avoid a lot of encounters as I was bored and annoyed about the procedure (slowly killing most enemies - get caught and the gun your way through the remaining - proceed to the next encounter). I know that this part is pretty subjective, after a played about half of the game, I just wanted to know how the story ends and just rushed most encounters. For their seven year of development, the gameplay is basically the same as in the first game. Gameplay 6/10

    So, now the story...

    Overall, I really like the story of Part II. It tells a very interesting story about traumatized characters, tribalism and the consequences of revenge. I also like the change of perspective and really enjoyed Abby part of the story, although here part of the story was a bit to bloated (compare that to my problems with the gameplay above, this is the part that should have been cut shorter in my opinion). It was very interesting to see Abbie who already had her revenge and knows that it does not help coping the trauma that caused the killing spree in the first is put into perspective with the main character Ellie who is still consumed by hatred destroying hear own life on the way to revenge as Abbie did before. Abbie is Ellie if she would have killed Abbie, still dealing with most of her problems.
    I also never rooted with Ellie through the whole game. She acted like total psychopath and killed a lot of innocent people (hundreds of wolves and seraphites) who had nothing to do with Abbie’s revenge plot in the first place. Like Neil Druckmann said years ago, the story is not meant to be fun and I think many people miss the points the developers want to make with the story. Many people dismiss the game because they don’t like the story subjectively and try their hardest to explain why the game is objectively bad and no one should be able to like the story bloating off every single thing that is off with the plot (and to be fair, the plot has heavy pacing issues and is contrived at some points). It was a very bold move to kill such a beloved character and the developer could easily made a ‘Joel and Abbi Buddy stories’ and everybody would have been happy. But they were bold enough to provoke lots of controversy they were clearly aware of that (Neil Druckman said once that not everyone would like the game).
    But still, the story is definitely too long (especially Abbie’s part and the epilogue of the doesn’t need to drag on for several hours although I like the overall idea of Ellie going after Abbie again and leaving her happy life behind). Story 9/10, very interesting and thought-provoking story about which we will still talk in year. And with that, the developers made a much better contribution to the gaming world than “The Last of Us Part II: Ellie and Joel Road Trip Part II”

    Overall, I would give the game 8/10. Fantastic Graphic and presentation, gameplay from 2013 and a bold but too long controversial story with minor pacing problems and plot holes.

    The big problem about the controversy is the same with the The last Jedi (which I quite like by the way): Do writers want to tell a story they want to tell or do they want to tell a story the fans want? Or otherwise: who owns the story or the characters? The writers or the fans?    … Expand

    Jeder der eine negative Wertung abgibt, hat anscheinend nicht viel von der Story verstanden oder ist einfach zu jung für ein Erwachsenen Spiel. Dieses Spiel ist ein Meisterwerk, was seines Gleichen sucht.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
