    No. Awesome gameplay mechanics. Horrible WOKE stroyline. I would not recommend this to friends or family. Extremely try hard political propaganda. One word: cringe. I mean this in a bad way

    Weak story
    Same old guns, same old skill tree, you will have to upgrade every guns twice and skills upgrade twice
    -1 for weak story

    I'd been waiting to play it for years, the first episode was the reason I went from xbox360 to ps4 pro. I had a lot of expectations for the second episode of TLOU2 and I have to say I really liked it. It was exciting full of twists and turns and not at all boring, the direction spectacular as in all Noughtydogs games. Promoted and highly recommended.

Looks amazing but I was over all bored almost throughout the entire game, except at the end when I was angry and I felt that almost the whole game was pointless when Abby wasn't killed. I also hated how right after killing Joel, who I was expecting to have a bigger role, we are forced to play as the person who killed him. The only time I had found the game as fun was when I watched streamers like Internet Historian play it because they made it fun.… Expand

    Really emotional story and really love Ellie's character development here. People should play it until the end and stop judging the game from like 2-3 hours of the game.

    I loved it.
    A video game where you forget who are the good and bad guys, it shows you how humanity is lost in a post pandemic world where criminals, toughs and vandals rule the world.
    Long walkthrough, great gameplay, amazing graphics.
    It is great how this video game is molded to your “style” from agresive to stealth, no matter the character you are playing with.
    Must play!

    Pointless history Without the story the game means nothing. This game does have great visuals and great gameplay, the story just isn’t good and it tries too hard to make you feel sorry for people that you don’t want to feel sorry for, they just don´t care. Trying to make a complicated story and being a good game is not always a valid premise. Wasted talent. Unplayable game.

    Best game ever made. Absolute masterpiece. I'm a die-hard fan of part one; part two rises above it in every way I hoped it would. To everyone who is claiming it's trash: you completely missed the point and I pity you. To everyone who is yet to experience it for the first time: you're in for the ride of your life and I envy you.

But all of that is **** useless because the story is awful. One of the main characters is killed in a brutal way at the beginning of the game, and then they force you to play as his killer for at least 1/3 of the game. They try to make her likeable but it only makes the game worse, she's not funny, loveable, she just a forced character that should never have seen the light of day. At the end of the game when Ellie can take her revenge she decides to spare her! THE GAME IS A REVENGE STORY BUT HAS NO REVENGE SECTION.… Expand

    Убийство Джоэла в самом начале игры с которого добрая половина, а то и больше, игроков начали бомбить и ставить игре 0 даже не пройдя дальше, показывает решимость авторов (в частности Дракманна) сделать игру чисто про Элли и Эбби, если бы Джоэл выжил, то многие бы еще сильнее бомбили пытайся они показывать Элли и Эбби забыв о нем.
    Те, кто говорят, что она скучная - поиграйте на максимальной сложности, вас будут как щенков гонять по арене и вы поймете зачем такие огромные арены для боев.
    Сюжет игры не гениальный (он и в первой части не был таковым, кто бы что не говорил), но он очень хорош. Повесточка, как многие визжат, есть, но ее настолько мало и она ну вот ВООБЩЕ не влияет на сюжет, что по сути можно сказать, что ее и нет.
    Сюжетная ветка за Элли выше всех похвал, проходил с большим удовольствием и местами специально тормозил, чтобы найти еще какой-нибудь диалог или еще какую-нибудь плюху. Видно, как сильно ее изменили в сравнении с первой частью игры - и это очень хорошо и интересно. Утверждающие, что Дракманн де не имел права так поступать с героями, АУ, это его персонажи, и поступать он мог так как хотел и как считал нужным, поэтому утритесь. Что бы он не сделал, все бы ФАНАТЫ первой части орали - все равно не то. Я люблю первую часть, но смотреть, так сказать, те же яйца только в профиль, я не хотел и не хочу, поэтому я благодарен за классные флешбэки, атмосфера первой части вернулась с ними, но этого достаточно. Это другая игра, про другие темы, про другого главного героя (или героев), поэтому, спасибо Дракманну, что не сделал клишированный сиквел, который точно зайдет всем, спасибо.
    Сюжет же за Эбби, мне понравился, но он затянут. Не обосновано затянут. На прохождение ее ветки у меня ушло где-то 13-15 часов, хотя все стало понятно где-то часов за 7-8.
    Концовка игры, как и сама игра в целом, не обесценивает первую, как некоторые здесь писали, она как раз подчеркивает правильность действий Джоэла, что она спас девочку, которая в последствии сама начала разрушать свою жизнь, а затем осознала это и смогла остановится пока не стало слишком поздно (или уже стало?)

    Итог, это однозначно очень хорошо сделанная игра, исполненная на высоком сценарном, техническом и дизайнерском уровне. Красивый мир, который интересно исследовать, люди, показанные в своей природной жестокости. Да, у меня тоже был момент, когда я сказал себе - что за херню я прохожу? Однако, я дошел до конца, и с уверенностью могу сказать - это не Анчик 4, где все кончается хэппиэндом, это очень качестенная история, которая опустошит вас (если вы любите первую часть), а потом наполнит совершенно другими эмоциями, которые заставят пересмотреть события первой игры, с другого ракурса, с настоящего ракурса.    … Expand

    I've been a gamer for the past 2 decades... I'm shocked at the hate this game has received despite the very obvious attention to detail and production quality. It was emotionally taxing but ...     The Last of Us: Part II is a story that can only be described as a masterpiece. This game is truly an experience that will not escape the player's mind after completion. It truly breaks my heart that others can't appreciate its genius, especially when so many haven't even played the game (as demonstrated by the unfortunate User Score).

This was not a story that catered to fans, it was much braver than that and the developers decided to tell a story honestly no one not even my self was expecting.     Por q hay cosas que no están muy bien como la muerte de joel que fue un conjunto de coincidencias, muchos dicen que debió morir de una manera más épica pero yo creo que es una muerte muy real para el mundo de tlou aún que como llegaron a ella no estubo del todo bien entre otras cosas. Pero el juego es una montaña rusa de emociones es genial logrando que tengas varias emociones encontradas aún q no simpatise mucho con abby considero q el final es uno bueno ya q jamás había visto q un personaje principal terminará tan solo como ellie ye eso es algo muy oscuro y atrevido, por otra parte los flasbacks con joel fuero una joya los disfrute mucho y creo q son unas de las mejores partes del juego. The second ruined every bit of it. The start is literally, gay sex since, then Joel dies. Então é bem possível que você que gostou do primeiro...talvez não goste dessa continuação.Em termos técnicos, esse jogo beira ao impecável. Mas quem for jogar tenha em mente que esse jogo é bem diferente do primeiro, abordando temas polêmicos como politica e religião, alem de uma narrativa extremamente pesada e melancólica, causando um sentimento muito diferente do que tivemos no TLOU1.     One of the best games and stories I have experienced. It seems the negative hate comes from individuals that didn’t fully understand the direction naughty dog was going. That is their option and they are entitled to it. From the graphics to the game play this is a perfect ten out of ten.

    Well it’s finally done. I finished TLOU2, probably the last person on earth to do so. I strung out my play as long as humanly possible, finally finishing today at 42 hours. I wanted it to last a long time so I could truly digest the story and enjoy the game completely. I truly just didn’t want it to end.

    It was just as good as the first, certainly not an easy story to deal with, but    Well it’s finally done. I finished TLOU2, probably the last person on earth to do so. I strung out my play as long as humanly possible, finally finishing today at 42 hours. I wanted it to last a long time so I could truly digest the story and enjoy the game completely. I truly just didn’t want it to end.

    It was just as good as the first, certainly not an easy story to deal with, but just so incredibly well done. While I will certainly miss the character who was brutally killed, I think this one really sets up a powerful future game that will end this story as a trilogy.

    They said part 1 was about love and this one was about hate, but I think the real feeling in the end is that it is a study of empathy and forgiveness in a sort of backwards way.

    I have a feeling part 3 is going to focus on sacrifice.

    Anyway congratulations  to #naughtydog you made another masterpiece. The Last of Us 1 & 2 not only lived up to the hype for me but are definitely some of the best games I have ever played. I think their only real rival being the early Mass Effect games.    … Expand

The graphics are ok and the details are awesome but with that history the entire game is Bad. Abby is a poor character, the death of Joel was stupid and Ellie was a poor character too. I had true hatred for abby after killing joel but after playing her story for 10 hours I grew to like her a little. She had a motive to kill joel because he killed abby's father which was the surgeon who was supposed to cut the cure out of ellie's head. I hate that joel is dead, he is my favorite from the first game. But hell the improved gameplay was great imo and for me the story was just fine besides killing off everyone's favorite character.… Expand

La gente no tiene idea de lo que es un juego de supervivencia, es realista, es directo y sobre todo no es color de rosas, lo que le pasó a Joel se lo mereció, además; el final es humano no es sólo por maldad, hay que ignorar gran mayoría de las cosas inclusivas sobre "LGTB" del juego, porque muchos olvidaron, por no haber jugado el DLC de el problema TLUO. En este DLC se puede ver que Ellie siente atracción por su mejor amiga, junto a esto han pasado 7 años desde está entrega. No es justo la crítica que tiene el juego, sí muchos solo esperaban un camino de venganza cuyo fin sería solo eso, dejen de esperar de más;este juego es una maravilla y sólo porque ustedes jugadores casuals, quieren algo diferente la comunidad de videojuegos será muy tóxica. Tienen que apreciar el trabajo que tuvo este juego, tienen que apreciar que la historia es realista, no todo es matar y venganza, también trata de todo lo que ha vivido Ellie y más personajes, fíjense que no es tan malo el final, vean realmente la calidad del juego, eso es todo.… Expand

It's a dark, brutal, emotionally draining game that clocks in anywhere between 26-34 hours depending on how you play through it. It's a story about revenge at any cost, and what happens when that revenge becomes an obsession.

    It's a dark game for a dark time. There are no happy endings here.

    I personally abhorred the idea of playing anyone but Ellie, but by the end of the game, I felt awfully conflicted about the actions the game made you complicit in.

I get they have the right to take the game to another moral code but they cant expect the people to be okay with that and just accept it. There was no charactar development for the original characters beside a little dark side of ellie while the rest such as tommy just had no development while they had so much more focus one new characters like Owen and Lev for some unknown reason. Once we are in the climax where ellie meets abby again theye take you into another game where you play as abby and the tension breaks you basically have to play as abby and do things that doesnt really have anything to do with the main story that was presented in the first half of the game. Then you have Abby saying SHE IS OKAY WITH DYING FOR HUMANITY like sure ofc you can say that when you are not on death bed. Joel was not the bad guy in the first game he did nothing wrong they took away Ellie's choice and he wanted her to have one and couldnt just accept that she was gonna die without even saying good bye so he bursted out mad and killed everyone in his way, so ofc he couldnt tell ellie the truth in the car. BUT it wasnt his fault they didnt give him a chance to even talk to her before the surgery so the whole principle of the fact that joel did anything wrong doesnt really work. Then you have tommy as i mentioned before he got so little screen time while other chracters like Lev got more when tommy was a main piece in the puzzle because he is the one that makes ellie go after abby again and he was the one trying to stop her in the first place and then you think how would tommy change in personality so fast i understand he lost an eye but his character was always the calm one and he just turns upside down that was really frustrating to see. Lastlly why and again why did we spend half the game playing as another character if the story revolves around ellie and why did you make it so many skill trees with so much to do if you were gonna make us switch character like that it was not good for the gameplay expierience nore the story. Same kind of reviews as for The Last Jedi. “They ruined Luke/Joel!” “It’s full of SJW garbage!” “Plot holes! Plot holes! PLOT HOLES!” on and on with oftentimes such limited explanation of the plot holes. I recently played both games for the first time and found this one to be about as good a sequel as I could’ve hoped for. The controls are slightly refreshed and made for a bit better of an experience, the visuals are gorgeous, with only a handful of bugs, and the dialogue is pretty well written. When it comes to the story, I found it ambitious and very admirable that we were given the chance to play as Abby, showing somebody who has lost everything and how they got there. I loved the idea of parallel stories with 3 Seattle days each, and I personally found the emotional connection to Abby come a lot easier than it should have. It’s a very, very dark and despondent experience, but as with the giraffes in the first game, there are the smallest glimmers of light. I can claim a few flawed character choices and a (personally) questionable, somewhat gratuitous but ultimately sadly satisfying fourth (?) act by taking a point off, but apart from that, I thought it was a very dynamic and emotionally heavy story that really deserved being told. I would suggest keeping an open mind when playing the game for the first time, and trying your best to give consideration to the environments you happen to find yourself in. It makes playing the game a lot more worthwhile. If you’re “anti-PC” or any variation on that, just don’t play it. Your hatred of the identities and behavior of certain characters will bleed into your opinion of the game. It’s abundantly clear to me that this community is far from ready to embrace certain things seen as “unfamiliar” to it. There is ONE trans female->male character, Abby seems by all accounts to be cisgendered, and there is a lesbian couple. These details play somewhat strong parts in the story, so maybe avoid it if you wouldn’t like to see it. I cannot speak on whether the representation was executed well enough, but it hardly bothered a heterosexual cisgendered white male. Stop review bombing on both sides and, like I said, just try to keep an open mind.… Expand

I think that this game has so much love and dedication behind it and you can really see that when you enter this new world. It’s dark, it’s gritty, and absolutely beautiful at the same time. I love that it’s based in Seattle as it provides a haunting atmosphere that makes you wary of your surroundings while providing beautiful scenery at every which way. The combat in this game is very rewarding since you can choose between a stealthier gameplay or a more action packed gun-ho experience (provided that you have found enough ammo of course). The human A.I (in my experience ) is more difficult to stealthily attack but the runners, clickers and bloaters are susceptible to alerting other enemies in their proximity, which may incentivize the player to use more strategic tactics. In this game it is very rewarding to utilize all of the options that the game offers. There’s no correct way to play a scene since you can encounter it a bunch of different ways by utilizing your surroundings and different weapons. For me this is what made the game so much more difficult and enjoyable at the same time. The story is very unique in the way that it’s presented. You will have catastrophic events that happen to a character, and you may feel anger, guilt, sadness whatever you experience. Then you will be motivated to take revenge. You will feel the same visceral hatred that other characters feel. However, the controversial part (which I enjoyed quite frankly) is that you will be challenged in this regard. It’s difficult to create a game that makes you feel sympathetic to a “bad” character that will appease everybody. In my experience though I had these really volatile feelings but then I started to feel slightly conflicted because I saw parallels between the protagonists and antagonists. I enjoy that the developers created a story where the villain isn’t one-dimensional, and that you can relate to them even if it’s just slightly. By the end of the game, I wasn’t entirely sure what I wanted, and when it came down to it I didn’t want to continue this journey that started off with this feeling of pure disgust and hatred. It didn’t seem right, morally speaking. This was definitely the most controversial part of the game of course because some people hated it and some people loved it. Of course this is where I reiterate that you should experience it yourself before casting judgement. Your unbiased opinion is much more valuable to developers than simply parroting what other people are saying. Of course I enjoyed this game, it was fantastic and I love the work that was put into it. There’s some parts of the game that could be improved. Some of the AI for the clickers were not consistent in certain areas as I could be moving slowly towards them and somehow they would detect me instantly. Meanwhile in another area I would do the same thing and take out a whole bunch without being spotted. This may be user error though. I only had trouble a couple of times trying to find my way through the map, but luckily I could use the L3 “hint” button to indicate where I was supposed to go. If you need additional help finding where you need to go then there’s additional options in the menu. Lastly, I just wanted to say that I loved the chemistry between Ellie and Joel in the first game, but that’s not what you will get here. This is a completely different story. It deals with the connection between the two characters, but not in the same way. I find that apocalyptic games that deal with a father-like figure and a child are very heartwarming as the relationship poses a contrast between the barbaric, cruel world to the endearing connection of the two characters. If you played TellTale’s TWD, you see this as well between Lee and Clementine. But this is not one of those games. It’s about love but it’s also about seeking revenge and how far someone is willing to go. How much you’re willing to sacrifice. I find that the music really tells the whole story really. I won’t go into specifics, but you will hear a song throughout the game that illustrates what I said previously in the last paragraph. This is a dark story that deals with a bunch of characters that have the same goal. It’s not black and white. For me, it obviously worked. I like the way the story went, I enjoyed the way it was presented, and I want to see more. I can see the story going in many directions, and although Neil Druckman hasn’t officially stated whether or not there will be a third installment, I would love to see what happens to all of the characters.

Most of the events that should have made your heart cry make you feel nothing cause the story suddenly warps you out of them, and whenever something good is going on it just takes it from you. i understand it's pessimistic narrative but if it doesn't make you feel anything and it's obviously not trying to be a clever story, then what? The story does not make you crave for it, i finished the game cause i paid 70 bucks for it. I give it a 6 purely for the developers, the game works flawlessly except for a minor bug i found.… Expand

    The game is a masterpiece of storytelling, and is MUCH deeper than Part I... foiling violent hatred against deep empathy with incredible effect through reciprocal gameplay elements. Ellie's emerging sexuality, and recurring strong female leads (both literally and figuratively), play center stage in this game, which is generally refreshing (and not licentiously overdone).

    The results are an absolutely magnificent work of storytelling and gameplay... equally thrilling and heartwrenching to play and watch.

    Unfortunately, this game has received an unfair and emotionally charged low score by many disheartened prior players (of TLOU Part I) who felt cheated by Naughty Dog's necessary maturation of the main character, (Ellie). While the Ellie of TLOU Part I was a bright and brave young teenager, full of quips and quick comments, the Ellie of Part II is now a competent and dangerous adult, who has matured while enduring years of emotional damage in a savage world... each leaving her with its own unique scar (physical and/or mental). Fans of LTOU Part I should be aware of the emotional change in the gameplay BEFORE going in. Your fond memories of the funny and snarky Ellie (and Joel) from Part I will forever be changed, often for a much darker, albeit morally rich and complex, main character.

It doesn’t matter if I liked or didn’t like where the story went; I didn’t write it, so it wasn’t up to me to determine. The polish is near-perfect, the gameplay it tight and kept me taught. I felt like I only ever had just enough tools or ammo to get through enemy encounters. The back-and-forth changes in character perspective made me think of The Godfather Part II.     While this game has amazing game play, it's just a slightly polished version of the first game. If you loved the first games game play, then you would love this game play. If you hated the first games game play, you would hate this, as this does virtually nothing to the game play from the first one. So while the game play is truly nice (in my opinion), it's not at all a real improvement from the first game, and is by no means near a masterpiece level of game play.

    However the biggest issue with this game isn't it's game play, but its story. Its hard to discuss this games story without spoiling anything, but I'm going to try. This game has an awful story. Obviously, thousands of people disagree, which is fine. We are all allowed to have our own opinions. However every place that compliments this games story and certain aspects, I can find counter examples of what they call so amazing. This games story contradicts itself, introduces several deus ex machinas, mcguffins, and is extremely heavy handed in what it's trying to tell. You get a lot of nameless faceless enemies even though the game is meant to show you that there are no nameless faceless enemies, and so on. This in and of itself isn't the biggest hit against the game. The biggest hit against this game, is the connections between people. In the first game you had such amazing and significant connections between characters. And everyone who played it felt it, that's why that game had universal praise. This game following it is like Jak 2 following Jak and Daxter. You can't fault people for being overly critical of a game the is a complete departure of the previous. The example I provided is even more glaring, because Jak and Daxter wasn't a universally praised masterpiece, meaning when the departure happened more people were willing to accept it's new traits. This game however, departs from a masterpiece, and it just falls short.

    So to surmise, given the predecessor of this game does not hold up to me. I platinumed the game, and I wasn't even happy when I did it. There was no happiness when I finally beat the game. I remember being excited to finish it so I could do something else. That feeling itself is enough to justify my score of 5/10.    … Expand

    No se lo que pasará de acá en adelante pero quiero agradecer a todos los que trabajaron tanto para sacar está obra maestra adelante. Ese es mi punto de vista y estoy muy contento con el juego sinceramente estoy sin palabras, de nuevo gracias a todos los que dedicaron horas para hacer este juego sin duda unos de los mejores juegos de Playstation es el juego ideal para despedir por lo más alto a esta generación de consola. Espero que los juegos futuros sean tan buenos como esté, que hacen perderte en un mundo de fantasía al punto en donde te olvidas de la realidad y te metes de lleno en el juego y sentir que uno mismo es el personaje principal y te hace llevar a explorar y tomar la mejor decisión para no perjudicar al personaje, el juego lo tiene todo. Lo único que queda es jugarlo y disfrútalo porque en verdad lo vale. Bueno me despido y espero que disfruten está obra maestra tanto como yo lo estoy haciendo.

    It's a technical marvel in almost everything. Graphics, animations, gameplay and even the options which need a separate review..! As a fan of the original TLOU and a one who picked it as the game of the decade, this one here is not for TLOU fan.     As a fan of the original TLOU and a one who picked it as the game of the decade, this one here is not for TLOU fan. The story is not convincing, character building is weak, narrative is lazy and beside the fact that there were many lies in the trailers to make a selling point and the (critics) reviews are pure brainwashing attempts!

    There were good acting moments but they were lost among the mess of the cinematics which couldn't be connected in a master class way as expected. I appreciate the game side and the efforts that had been put in, but I can't respect the story elements which is a vital part of TLOU and this is unfortunately disappointing...

    Bottom line that it's a must have from the technical perspective, but definitely not as TLOU fan.    … Expand

    What made the first game special for me, they showed how a deep connection could come from two complete strangers and it felt real.
    In this game they throw in so much into the pot it creates a lot of weird plot holes and even after 30 hours I don't have a single character I really like.

    This game turned into kinda... The Walking Dead: The Game. Regardless of what history tells us about how people in war act usually kind and help each other, all main characters in this game are straight up ****

    But who knows, maybe you'll surprise me with Part 3 and...subvert my expectations, ba dum tss.    … Expand

I found the second part almost hideous because of the bad story. But first to the positive. The graphics textures are great. Whe weather conditions are very realistic. You can see that the graphic detals were programmed with love. With HDR you can even recognize tiny text passages in the big world. I also find the sound and the music composed very beautifully and professionally. The music adapts to the different scenes. I also think the gameplay is outstanding. The controls are simple and not complicated. Now the negative: in some places I find the game too boring because the mission repeats itself. Search for it or find it. That was not always the case but sometimes. Why did I only give a 3 for TLOU2? The horrible bad story !!!! How can you tell such a good story from part 1 so badly? A favorite character dies at the beginning and you are even forced to play with the killer for over 20 hours. What i liked most badly was that the game tries to influence me with a political opinion. I play games for fun and not to listen to and look at any political opinions. I feel that the game was a left political party game.Then I can turn on the TV right away. The end battle of the story makes no sense to me, especially the totally bad boring ending. in the end i felt as if i had played all the time without meaning and purpose.… Expand

    I will be simple the game is not bad in fact it is good the graphics, the artificial intelligence, god I love abby although the Motion blur I think that is the name it made me dizzy even so the game is great.     Como matar un AAA con una secuela esperada por todos!!...con el nuevo estilo "all inclusive" matando un argumento que te traía pegado a la consola en la primera parte... triste!!!!

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
